(Worthy News) – President Donald Trump said the United States carried out a major bombing raid on Iran’s Kharg Island, destroying what he described as every military target on the strategically vital export hub.

“Moments ago, at my direction, the United States Central Command executed one of the most powerful bombing raids in the history of the Middle East and totally obliterated every military target in Iran’s crown jewel, Kharg Island,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Despite the strikes, Trump said the U.S. deliberately avoided targeting the island’s oil export infrastructure.

“For reasons of decency, I have chosen NOT to wipe out the Oil Infrastructure on the Island,” he said.

However, the president warned that the decision could quickly change if Iran attempts to disrupt shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.

“Should Iran, or anyone else, do anything to interfere with the Free and Safe Passage of Ships through the Strait of Hormuz, I will immediately reconsider this decision,” Trump said.

Kharg Island, located off Iran’s southern coast in the Persian Gulf, serves as the country’s main oil export terminal, with roughly 90 percent of Iran’s crude shipments passing through the facility.

U.S. officials have warned that Iran may be attempting to deploy naval mines in the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most critical energy shipping routes.
