(Worthy News) – Iran escalated its conflict with the United States by launching two long-range missiles at the U.S.-U.K. base on Diego Garcia—its first confirmed use of intermediate-range ballistic missiles. The strike, targeting a base about 2,500 miles away, revealed capabilities far beyond what many analysts had expected.

Although both missiles failed — one malfunctioning and the other intercepted — the launch marked a clear shift in Iran’s posture. Experts say Tehran is no longer concealing its long-range capabilities, with the missiles’ range placing parts of Europe within reach.

The weapons are believed to be two-stage systems, possibly adapted from Iran’s space program, indicating they were developed well before the current war. Analysts say this confirms Iran’s extended-range threat is now operational, not theoretical.

The move also signals a broader strategic shift. Under mounting internal and military pressure, Iran appears to be abandoning restraint in favor of a more aggressive doctrine. “There’s no going back,” one expert warned.

The escalation has renewed concerns about Iran’s nuclear ambitions, with analysts cautioning that the regime may now pursue nuclear weapons as a deterrent if it survives the conflict.

Netanyahu: Iran is Threat to the Entire World

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu pointed to the missile strike as evidence that Iran poses a global—not regional—threat.

“If you want proof that Iran endangers the entire world, the last 48 hours have given it,” Netanyahu said. “They now have the capacity to reach deep into Europe. They are putting everyone in their sights.”

He warned that Iran is not only targeting nations militarily but also threatening global energy routes and attempting to “blackmail the entire world.”

Calling for unified action, Netanyahu urged European leaders to join the United States and Israel in confronting Tehran.

“The call is not only for the security of America and Israel, but for the security of the entire world,” he said.

He emphasized that Israel’s military campaign is focused on dismantling Iran’s leadership and military infrastructure, contrasting it with Iran’s willingness to target civilian populations.
