In this episode, Mike casts light on the implications of enforced immigration laws, the role of celebrities in political discourse, and the importance of mental health awareness. How do these factors shape the national conversation? Tune in to hear unique perspectives on these pressing issues.

SPEAKER 13 :
You know, I’ve always loved doing this for a living. Every day I wake up thanking God for my occupation. But I have never had so much fun coming into work as I am these days. One weekend to the Trump administration, Trump 2.0. I can’t get to work fast enough. There was some traffic today driving into work. I thought, no, no, no, no, no, don’t slow me down. Don’t bring me down. I got to get into work. We got to take to the airwaves. There is so much happening with the ending of the weaponization of the government, with the detainment and deportation of people who broke the law to get here by virtue of being here. They are lawless. They have broken the law. And we should enforce the law with compassion, with dignity, but with strength and justice. Sorry you don’t get a free pass just because the Democrats have wanted open borders. The days of open borders are gone. They are coming to an end rapidly. Thousands and thousands of people are being detained from New York to Washington State and in between. And not everybody’s taking it too well. Like this actress, Selena Gomez. And I want to get your take on it. If you’re on social media, it’s all that anybody’s talking about. This young woman has 422 million followers on Instagram. She is a billionaire with a B. Now, I don’t know a lot about Selena Gomez. She was a Disney actress, like a child star with Disney, very successful actress, and then became very wealthy because of her beauty brand called Rare Beauty. So this young woman has more wealth than the gross national product of some countries. And she decided to point a camera to herself, thought it would be a good idea, to ugly cry and sob about the deportation of illegals that is currently going on in America. If you haven’t seen it, if you haven’t heard it, because it’s become so newsworthy, because I’ve got some, I think, some unique takeaways, because I know people who know her, believe it or not. I spent some time in Dallas-Fort Worth. She’s from the Dallas area. She was born in Grand Prairie, Texas. Contrary to her sobbing about her people, she’s a Texan. And, of course, a Hispanic heritage. And she’s clearly taking the Trump deportation of illegals very, very badly.
SPEAKER 09 :
I just want to say that I’m so sorry.
SPEAKER 10 :
All my people are getting attacked. The children… I don’t understand.
SPEAKER 1 :
I’m so sorry. I wish I could do something, but I can’t. I don’t know what to do.
SPEAKER 10 :
I’ll try everything I promise.
SPEAKER 13 :
Okay, she doesn’t know what to do, so what she does is go to Instagram with her 422 million followers, point a cell phone at herself, and start ugly crying about how upset she is about the law being enforced. And that’s literally what we’re talking about. Our federal laws are finally being enforced, and she does not know what to do. Now, a couple of human—I think we ought to be humans in this moment. We knew this was going to happen. Remember, we talked about this months ago. If Trump wins and the deportations begin, all you’re going to do is see weeping and gnashing of teeth about children being ripped apart from their families, and it’s going to be terrible, and Abuela is going to have to go back to Guadalajara, and that’s going to be awful for Abuela. We knew that was all coming, right? A couple things about Selena Gomez, and I want to turn it over to you at 800-655-MIKE. 800-655-6453. Number one, I’m told that despite her wealth and her fame, she struggles with mental health issues. Now, I believe that’s important. And I also think it has to do, that’s an important aspect of this whole national conversation we’re having. A lot of the people who are flipping out are not well educated. And I’m not trying to generalize here, but that’s a fact. I’m on social media a lot. I’ve become an ex-disciple. Follow me at Gallagher Show. In fact, I think we’re streaming again today live on X. So I see these clips posted all the time. These are not mentally well people. I’m not saying that to put them down. I’m not saying that to trivialize it. I’m not trying to attack them. I think we have to understand that many of these people who are having complete meltdown, freak out, emotional crises, they’ve got mental health challenges to begin with. And again, I don’t say that to dismiss them. You look at that video from Selena Gomez. That’s not a mentally well person. You can have all the compassion in the world that you want. Did she cry like that when Lakin Riley was killed? Did she cry like that when a family lost their three children because an illegal drunk driver wiped them out? Does she cry about anything that’s happening to our communities and our cities from violent illegals? And no, I’m not saying all illegals are violent. But the violent ones and the criminals are the first ones being targeted. As Tom Holman has said, it’s the bad ones, the worst, are going first. A week into Trump’s second presidency, and no one’s going to get a free pass anymore, but the bad ones, the worst ones, are the ones being targeted now. The gang members, the criminals, the people charged with horrible crimes. They’re the ones that are going to go first. And if you’re breaking down over that mentally, you’re not well. Number two, let’s remember the performative nature of what Selena Gomez did. Don’t kid yourself. She pointed a camera at herself. She didn’t have a camera crew waltz into her kitchen at a low moment. Oh, I’m crying because of it. She did that herself. She wanted you to see. She wanted her 422 million followers to see her ugly crying on camera because she’s concerned about her people, as she put it, being deported. It’s total performance art. And I know a lot of actors. One thing I know about actors… Their narcissism is off the charts. I think it has to be. I think it has to do with the nature of their profession. They get turned down a lot for jobs. So maybe it’s a coping mechanism. But they are narcissists to the nth degree. But what a time to be alive, to watch that. And incidentally, she quickly deleted her video from Instagram when evidently her own followers… We’re telling her, buck up, buckaroo. Knock it off. We ain’t buying what you’re selling. And so she took the video down. Our number is 800-655-MIKE. We’re in the Relief Factor studios for a Tuesday, last Tuesday of the month. Great to have you along for the ride. 800-655-6453. SPEAKER 13 :
I was catching up with my friend Bill Frady, who’s the terrific afternoon host on our station in the upstate of South Carolina, 98.9 WORD. Bill and I were just agreeing about how much fun it is to come to work these days. Remember how helpless we felt when Joe Biden… Undid practically everything that the first Trump administration accomplished. He got out his pen and did all the executive orders day one, undoing as much as he could. Remember how helpless we felt when Biden gave preemptive pardons to his family, to Fauci, to the select committee, Liz Cheney, Benny Thompson? Remember that helpless feeling we had? Well, now they have it. Now their side feels helpless because the Trump freight train is roaring through America. I’ve never seen anything like it in my life. We’re the second week in. Thousands of illegals are dangerous illegals because they’re targeting the worst first. The people who are being detained now in these ICE raids, and already there have been thousands of people who have been detained. These are criminals. And these are people charged with serious, serious crimes. These are gang members. These are rapists. These are bad people. Remember years ago, Trump famously said, they’re not sending their best. Now, we’ve always stipulated there are a lot of good-hearted people who’ve come over to this country illegally with good intentions, not wanting to hurt anybody else. Of course, there are plenty of people in that category. Doesn’t mean they haven’t broken the law. You swim across the Rio Grande and sneak into the United States, you’re guilty of federal crimes. It’s against the law. But Democrats have tried to convince you that somehow it’s not illegal. An illegal isn’t an illegal. An illegal is really only undocumented. An illegal isn’t an illegal. An illegal is a migrant. They sort of misplaced their paperwork. That’s the game. That’s the scam. That’s the great lie. You want to talk about a big lie? That’s a big lie, that somehow it’s not illegal to commit the illegal act of sneaking across our border and into our country and, of course, taking our valuable resources, be it health care or education for their kids, birthright citizenship, gone. The days of… coming into the United States illegally, having a baby on American soil so that that child will receive free benefits, those days are gone. And it’s a glorious thing to witness. Bill and I were talking about how much fun it is to come to work again. And it is. It’s a blast. And we don’t have that helpless feeling anymore. They do. And it’s leading to some of them having complete emotional tantrums. Have you seen the Selena Gomez video? She’s an interesting young woman. She’s 32 years old. She’s a billionaire. She started out as a Disney child star, successful actress, businesswoman. She has some kind of a beauty product line. And she took a camera and pointed it to herself. and essentially had a mental breakdown over the mass deportation that is taking place right now in the United States. Now, she’s from the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Her mother’s American. Her father, apparently, who abandoned, as I understand, the family when she was young, was Mexican. She, and I think this is important, And we all ought to be about some degree of compassion and humanity. She evidently struggles with mental health issues. I guess after you see this video, that can be confirmed.
SPEAKER 09 :
I just wanted to say that I’m so sorry.
Well, there are some things you can do other than point a camera at yourself and ugly cry for your 422 million followers on Instagram. Why don’t you take some of your hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of millions of dollars I mean, she’s worth apparently over a billion with a B. Take $100 million and buy an island and give illegals a sanctuary island. You could get a heck of an island for $100 million. You’d get a lot done. Why don’t you start? Why don’t you step up? I understand she’s got a palatial mansion in Los Angeles with a big gate, incidentally. That irony shouldn’t be lost on anyone. Open up your gates and bring in maybe dozens of illegals to live in your home. And I’m not saying that to be a smart aleck. Do something other than point a camera at yourself and cry. And incidentally, remember the nature of this actress’s It’s total performance art. I’m not trying to mock her if she really is mentally ill. Maybe she’s got a lot of problems. But when you put a camera on your face and then… sob and weep and moan and groan and cry, you want your 422 million followers to see that. A camera didn’t walk in. Some guy with a camera didn’t just waltz into her kitchen and say, oh, let me take a video of you in one of your lowest moments. No, she did that. She’s an actress. She’s a performer. And apparently got, again, mental health challenges. Tom Holman was asked about it. The border czar, he said, we haven’t arrested any families. We’re arresting public safety threats and national security for us. Bottom line, if they don’t like it, then go to Congress and change the law. We’re going to do this, he said, without apology. We’re going to do this without apology. Do you think Selena Gomez wept over the crime victims? who suffered at the hands of the trendy Aragua gang members from Venezuela? You think she cried for Lake and Riley? Maybe she did. Maybe she cries a lot. There is a new sheriff in town. There is a new dawn that has risen. And we’re going to go forward with this without apology to the Selena Gomez’s of the world. Let me get your reaction to all of it as we kick off a Tuesday episode of the Mike Gallagher Show in the Relief Factor Studios. Great to have you with us. If you’re new to the show, MikeOnline.com. SPEAKER 02 :
I went through four years of hell by this scum that we had to deal with. I went through four years of hell. I spent millions of dollars in legal fees, and I won. But I did it the hard way. It’s really hard to say that they shouldn’t have to go through it all. So it is very hard to say that.
SPEAKER 07 :
In the ReliefFactor.com studios, here’s Mike.
SPEAKER 13 :
Well, uh… President Trump has reacted to the announcement that Jim Acosta is leaving CNN with typical good cheer and grace. As only Trump can do. Here was his post. Wow, really good news. Jim Acosta, one of the worst and most dishonest reporters in journalistic history, a major sleazebag, has been relegated by CNN fake news to the midnight hour. Death Valley because of extraordinarily bad ratings and no talent. Word is that he wants to quit, and that would be even better. Well, of course, he has quit, so that came to fruition. President Trump concludes by saying Jim is a major loser who will fail no matter where he ends up. Good luck, Jim. I mean, come on. How do you not love this guy? How can you not love him? I mean, and plenty do not, but that’s Donald Trump, as I saw just now on X. Incidentally, I also posted, we just reposted an article from Talkers Magazine, the Bible of the talk radio industry. They, too, have written a piece about Trump. my relationship with Food for the Poor. Food for the Poor is doing a podcast that you can find where they honored me for my years of supporting Food for the Poor and all of those. It was a great podcast called Beyond the Plate produced by Food for the Poor and our friend Paul Jacobs and the team. And so thanks to Talkers Magazine and Barrett. And we posted both of those articles if you want to read them at x.com. And we’ll also post it, Tracy will post it, at mikeonline.com as well, so you can see those articles about our partnership with Food for the Poor. Let me tell you my quick Jim Acosta story, and we’ll take some phone calls. During the first Trump administration, Sebastian Gorka and I were invited to the White House to meet with President Trump in the Oval Office. This is before Seb joined the White House, this time around, of course, and had to leave Salem. This is when Seb and I were Salem Media Group colleagues. And we were waiting in the White House press briefing room. That’s, of course, where famously, you know, Kareem John Binders and folks like Caroline Leavitt hold court, right? And while we’re standing there waiting to get into the Oval Office, along comes Jim Acosta. And he takes one look at Seb Gorka and says, this room is supposed to be for real journalists only, right? Well, Seb Gorka, being Seb Gorka, wasn’t going to let that go. He starts bellowing, What did you say to me, Abilio? Abilio, come back here! Why are you afraid of your Hispanic heritage, Abilio? Why don’t you use your real name? Well, now, Acosta turns three shades of white and just scampers out of there like a rat on a sinking ship. He couldn’t get out of the press briefing room fast enough. And, of course, as it turns out, Abilio is indeed Jim Acosta’s real first name. His name is Abilio James Acosta. I think Mark Davis and I talked about this this morning as well. But just a lot of laughs that day. And I can tell you today, as we sit on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, Sebastian Gorka is gainfully employed, serving his country proudly in the Trump White House in a counterterrorism capacity. one of the most important key positions in the country. And Abilio is out of work. Funny how the tide turns, eh? Connie’s in Chicago talking about Brandon Johnson. I know he gave a press conference, Connie. I couldn’t bear to put my audience through it. I just can’t stand that guy. How bad is it?
SPEAKER 06 :
Pretty bad. You know what? He does not own the city. He’s just paid to manage it, and he’s not doing a good job with that either. And he does not represent the people of Chicago. We cannot stand him, and we can’t wait to get him out. You know, I want to say one quick comment, that the day that President Trump was shot in Butler, Immediately, I prayed for him because I was so appalled by what happened. And God gave me a verse, which is absolute for what’s going on right now. And the Lord said to me, with your own eyes, you will behold and see the reward of the wicked. And we’re seeing that.
SPEAKER 13 :
That’s Psalm 91, verse 10. Nice. Thank you for sharing that, Connie. Prayer works, and it’s a time to lean into our faith. Look, we should be praying for everybody. Look, I think you pray for this young woman, this Selena Gomez. I mean, that made all kinds of headlines. Here she is with her little meltdown. She’s got over 400 million followers on Instagram. She’s a billionaire. Not only is she a successful actress, apparently, but she’s also an entrepreneur. She has her own beauty line. I guess she’s got beauty products. But she took a camera, pointed it at herself, and melted down this way.
SPEAKER 09 :
I just wanted to say that I’m so sorry.
Yikes. And, you know, look, I don’t want to pounce on this young woman who, I’m told, has had a history of mental health challenges. But that’s an important part of this. A lot of the people you’re seeing having such a difficult time with the Trump administration, a lot of them have mental health challenges. I’m convinced of that. You’ve got to be a little detached from reality to ignore what the majority of Americans expect from our government. And Look, that’s always been a progressive value. The government should keep us safe. One would think they would appreciate improving the quality of life in our cities. But look, so much is changing. Even the cancel culture is ending. Here’s today’s Eminem experience.
SPEAKER 04 :
And here’s another rarity. Complete Unknown, his biopic about Bob Dylan. I really want to see it. The Oscar nominations came out, and I hardly know anything. I’m usually pretty movie literate. This year, I don’t know why. I just haven’t been, but I really want to see Complete Unknown. And Chalamet was just wonderful.
SPEAKER 13 :
Well, evidently, the one movie that’s getting all the buzz is because it’s so awful. Emilio, I think, Lopez.
SPEAKER 03 :
Emilio, no, Perez.
SPEAKER 13 :
Emilio, Shyamala, Shyamala, Perez.
SPEAKER 04 :
I don’t know. I don’t know if it’s terrible.
SPEAKER 13 :
Well, the scenes I’ve seen posted look goofy.
SPEAKER 04 :
I mean, it’s weird. But here’s the stigma, and here’s why no one will be able to be objective about it. Amelia Perez is the story of a Mexican cartel leader who enlists the aid of an attorney because he wants to transition to a woman. So just here we go again. And as I’ve already said on this show, and I’ll say 50 times, God bless people. I pray for mental health for these folks. But this is propaganda on steroids. It’s designed to make everybody just feel great. Well, let’s talk about giving in to gender dysphoria.
SPEAKER 13 :
Yeah, let’s talk about the mental health aspect of this because I think it’s very important, especially in light of the Selena Gomez video because everybody’s talking about it. And there’s a couple takeaways that I think are very, very important about this young woman’s video. First of all… and I think this is important and maybe a little bit of compassion can, is in order here. I don’t disagree with anything you’ve said about her, but let me, let me share with you what, what I know. Well, she’s apparently, apparently she’s had a long struggle with mental health. She has a lot of mental health challenges. Now I’m, I have no idea. I barely know who she is. I’m stunned that somebody, a young actress who’s 30 something is worth over a billion dollars i don’t know that’s successful you’ll get a billion dollars well well but not acting and so how does that happen apparently she has a very successful like beauty product line and that’s what made her a billionaire so so good on her i mean in terms of being successful uh but but a couple of things about because you know the mental health aspect of this is important The people who are truly mentally unwell have become unhinged in the Trump presidency. And she is apparently, again, somebody who has challenged with bipolar, mood disorder, eating disorders, lots of mental health problems. So you take a woman, a young woman with mental health problems, and then you give her a platform with millions and millions of followers. Oh, yeah. And she posts a video of herself that is, like you said, moronic and bizarre and insane. Now, here’s the thing, the second part of this that I think is very, very important. I know a lot of actors. I really do. I know a lot of people. And I know some very successful actors. Stage, screen, TV. This is a fact. The more successful they are, and I’m not saying this to attack them. I’m telling you this as a statement of fact. The more successful they are, Mark, the more narcissistic they are. It’s an absolute cardinal rule. And some of them are wonderful people. Mm-hmm. I think it has to do with all the rejection they get in their lives because for 10 roles that they’re up for, they lose out on nine of them or worse. And so I think that’s a coping mechanism that the world now must revolve around them. And they are as narcissistic a person as anything I’ve ever seen in my life. In fact, I’ve kidded around with some of them because I’m like, do you realize what a narcissist you are? Well, yeah, I’m an actor. I get it. Okay, so let’s keep that in mind too. And finally, and this goes hand in hand with my final observation of her video. Remember something. She didn’t have a camera crew pop up into her living room when she was in a low moment about the poor children being dragged from their families. She did that herself. In other words, she took a camera, pointed it at herself, and then goes into the ugly cry, sobbing hysteria about, I don’t know what to do about this. The law being enforced suddenly after the years of lawlessness we’ve seen of illegal immigration. But understand, it’s back to the narcissism and the performative nature of what she did. She wanted you to see her. You mentioned that earlier in your monologue.
SPEAKER 04 :
I’m a better person than you because I am leveled by evil Trump.
SPEAKER 13 :
That’s right. And she did it. She did it intentionally. It was not like… It reminds me of reality shows. You know, and I… Denise and I used to love the Ozzy Osbourne reality show.
SPEAKER 05 :
We thought that was the coolest thing. Just the best.
SPEAKER 13 :
It was one of the first ones of that genre, right? It was like the pioneer of that. You forget… There are camera crews and lighting people and best boys and grips and crews in those houses. They’re not in that house alone having an argument. They’re performing. Anybody who thinks any of the Real Housewives storylines are legitimate and authentic are fools. Every one of those things is all performative. They do it for the show. So and that was what Selena Gomez was all about. So I feel I really do feel I mean, I’m not shedding any tears.
SPEAKER 04 :
Here’s what you have shed valuable light on something that everybody should consider. And multiple things can be true at the same time. Is this an idiotic burst of possibly contrived emotion from Selena Gomez? Yes. Does she deserve our empathy for any kind of mental health struggle, any kind of vulnerability she may have? Absolutely. You bet. Here’s the missing element here, though. She would not be shedding any of those tears if she put the functioning brain in her head to work a little harder. to realize that it is not evil to obey immigration law. If she were conservative, she would not be crying, which is not a mandate that everybody be conservative, but if you weren’t so totally wrong and duped and brainwashed by the left, you would not be so leveled by enforcing immigration law.
SPEAKER 13 :
I can promise you she hasn’t shed one tear for people like Lincoln Riley. That’s who I cry for, the victims of soft borders. She hasn’t shed any tears for communities that have been ravaged by hordes of migrants who have upended communities. She hasn’t cried for drunk driving victims of illegals. She hasn’t cried for any of those people. She wants to cry for, and incidentally, her people. Newsflash, she was born in Texas. You know, I mean, she ain’t exactly from Guadalajara. You know, so I always loved that. And my people, oh, these are my people. Oh, yeah, what, Texans? Oh, give me a break.
SPEAKER 14 :
Ethnically, you know.
SPEAKER 13 :
Oh, give me a break. She’s a princess from Texas who fell in love. into this great career, and now she’s a billionaire, and she can… Look, I’m not kidding you. Take all that money, invest it in shelters, start housing a lot of them. Put them in your home. You got a big… And she’s got a big, beautiful home with a gate, a massive gate. Now, there’s some irony there, Mark.

SPEAKER 04 :
And here’s another rarity. Complete Unknown, his biopic about Bob Dylan. I really want to see it. The Oscar nominations came out and I hardly know anything. I just, I’m usually pretty movie literate this year. I don’t know why. I just haven’t been, but I really want to see Complete Unknown. And I really, and Chalamet was just wonderful.
SPEAKER 13 :
Well, evidently, the one movie that’s getting all the buzz is because it’s so awful. Emilia, I think, Lopez.
SPEAKER 03 :
Emilia, no, Perez.
SPEAKER 13 :
Emilia, Shyamala, Shyamala, Perez. I don’t know.
SPEAKER 04 :
First of all… and I think this is important, and maybe a little bit of compassion is in order here. I don’t disagree with anything you’ve said about her, but let me share with you what I know. Well, apparently she’s had a long struggle with mental health. She has a lot of mental health challenges. Now, I have no idea. I barely know who she is. I’m stunned that somebody, a young actress who’s 30-something, is worth over a billion dollars. I don’t know. Been that successful? You’ll get a billion dollars, won’t you? Well, but not acting. And so how does that happen? Well, apparently she has a very successful, like, beauty product line. And that’s what made her a billionaire. So good on her, I mean, in terms of being successful. But a couple of things about, because, you know, the mental health aspect of this is important. The people who are truly mentally unwell have become unhinged in the Trump presidency. I think it has to do with all the rejection they get in their lives because for 10 roles that they’re up for, they lose out on nine of them. you know, or worse. And so I think it’s a coping mechanism that the world now must revolve around them. And they are as narcissistic a person as anything I’ve ever seen in my life. In fact, I’ve kidded around with some of them because I’m like, do you realize what a narcissist you are? Well, yeah, I’m an actor. I get it. Okay, so let’s keep that in mind too. And finally, and this goes hand in hand with my final observation of her video, Remember something. She didn’t have a camera crew pop up into her living room when she was in a low moment about the poor children being dragged from their families. She did that herself. In other words, she took a camera, pointed it at herself. And then goes into the ugly cry, sobbing hysteria about I don’t know what to do about the law being enforced suddenly after the years of lawlessness we’ve seen of illegal immigration. But understand, it’s back to the narcissism and the performative nature of what she did. She wanted you to see her. You mentioned that earlier in your monologue.
SPEAKER 04 :
Look at me. I’m a better person than you because I am leveled by evil Trump retina.
SPEAKER 04 :
every one of those things is all performative they do it for the show so and that was what selena gomez was all about so i feel i really do feel i mean i’m not shedding any tears here’s what you have shed valuable light on something that everybody should consider and multiple things can be true at the same time is this an idiotic burst of possibly contrived emotion from selena gomez yes Does she deserve our empathy for any kind of mental health struggle, any kind of vulnerability she may have? Absolutely. You bet. Here’s the missing element here, though. She would not be shedding any of those tears if she put the functioning brain in her head to work a little harder to realize that it is not evil to abuse. obey immigration law. If she were conservative, she would not be crying, which is not a mandate that everybody be conservative, but if you weren’t so totally wrong and duped and brainwashed by the left, you would not be so leveled by enforcing
SPEAKER 13 :
I can promise you she hasn’t shed one tear for people like Lake and Riley. I can promise you she hasn’t shed any tears for communities that have been ravaged by hordes of migrants who have upended communities. She hasn’t cried for drunk driving victims of illegals. She hasn’t cried for any of those people. She wants to cry for, and incidentally, her people. Newsflash, she was born in Texas. You know, I mean, she ain’t exactly from Guadalajara, you know, so I always loved that. And my people, oh, these are my people. Oh, yeah, what, Texans? I’ll give me a break.
SPEAKER 14 :
Ethnically, I mean, you know.
SPEAKER 13 :
I’ll give me a break. She’s a princess from Texas who fell. fell into this great career, and now she’s a billionaire, and she can… Look, I’m not kidding you. Take all that money, invest it in shelters. Start housing a lot of them. Put them in your home. You got a big… And she’s got a big, beautiful home with a gate, a massive gate. Now, there’s some irony there, Mark.
SPEAKER 04 :
Wait a minute. Are you saying that she seeks to control who comes into her home?
SPEAKER 13 :
Mike, is this what you’re saying to me? Color me shocked. Color me shocked. I mean, here’s what Benny Johnson wrote about her. She’s American. Her mom is American. Her Mexican father abandoned them. She went from living in a small Texas home to a palace in L.A. She’s a billionaire because of America. Now, this is the other part of this that I always think is so intriguing. The Selena Gomez’s of the world who are now… essentially condemning this country for enforcing laws, this country made her rich and famous. I always love the lack of gratitude that they have for not appreciating without this country, maybe she’s working at a Target. Maybe she’s in community theater in Peoria, Illinois. Instead, she’s this billionaire because we made her rich and famous. This country gave that to her, and they never, ever managed to remember that.
SPEAKER 04 :
I would think you’d be a huge consumer of at least one part of her work because the big thing that’s made her more famous in the last couple of years than anything is her hanging out with Steve Martin and Marty Short in only— Which I’ve not seen an episode of. Only Murders in the Building. I kind of missed it. I missed that one. And I love them. I just haven’t been there.
SPEAKER 13 :
I watched it one night and I couldn’t really get into it. It’s kind of schmaltzy and funny. But anyway, maybe I’ll get around to it. Anyway, and look, let’s get down to business here. How about Google is now going to rename the Gulf of Mexico, Gulf of America. Google, on the Google Maps. Oh, my. Yep, they are. Winning. The Geographic Names Information System, GNIS, is going to be officially updated. And when that happens, they’re going to update Google Maps. That’s tremendous. It’s Gulf of America. And then finally, conversation starter, as you love to say, how about Jim Acosta out at CNN? Is he out or just midnight? Oliver Darcy of Status News. Oliver is a former CNN reporter, and he’s got his own deal now. He’s got a scoop, and he’s reporting that Acosta is telling his associates he will leave the network. And the whole narrative is that… You know, he was on it like 10 a.m. and allegedly good ratings. But this new guy, and I had lunch with somebody yesterday who knows the CEO, the new CEO of CNN, a guy by the name of Mark Thompson. Mark Thompson’s whole push is let’s pretend to be fair. Let’s give both sides. And the activists like Jim Acosta, and he is an activist. man he is he and you know my famous jim acosta seb gorka story do you have i ever told you that story where he was was jim were they yelling at each other at the white house Yeah, Seb and I got invited to the Oval Office in the first Trump term, and we were staged in the White House press briefing room waiting to go into the Oval Office for a meeting with President Trump. Acosta comes slinking by, looks up at Gorka, because everybody looks up at Gorka. He looks up at Seb and says, this room is supposed to be for real journalists. Oh, fantastic. And then walks away. Well, Gorka being Gorka starts bellowing, what did you say to me, Abilio? Come back here, Abilio.
SPEAKER 04 :
The real name.
SPEAKER 13 :
Abilio. Abilio. What, are you ashamed of your Hispanic heritage? Now, the color drained on Acosta’s face. He couldn’t get out of that room fast enough. And it turns out Jim Acosta’s real first name is Abilio. Abilio James Acosta. Yep. That’s correct. Well, Gorka knew that. Of course, Acosta evidently doesn’t want people to know that, and that’s why he goes by Jim, which is his middle name, James. Anyway, here’s what I know today. As of today, Seb Gorka is gainfully employed, proudly serving his country in the White House in counterterrorism, and Abilio is apparently going to be out of work.
SPEAKER 04 :
Well, they shunted him over to Midnight. Midnight to 2 a.m. Midnight on CNN. We may have more people listening to and watching us right now than midnight on CNN. I promise you.
SPEAKER 13 :
And you know how they tried to sell it to him?
SPEAKER 04 :
Have you heard this?
SPEAKER 13 :
This is an Oliver Darcy’s reporting. Well, you’ll be at 9 p.m. on the West Coast. I think he got insulted. I mean, even Abilio has some common sense. He knows what he’s being played.
SPEAKER 04 :
His exit is a strong rumor. We’ll see what happens. Last thing for rumors. And look, this was always stupid. Barack Obama and Jennifer Aniston are not dating, never were. Michelle’s absence made a lot of people trolling for clickbait. What’s going on with Michelle? I don’t know, but it’s not that.
SPEAKER 01 :
Or something is, Mark.
SPEAKER 04 :
And maybe there is trouble in paradise in some form. I don’t know. Or maybe she’s ill. But the notion of them dating was just stupid.
SPEAKER 13 :
But maybe, Michelle, I wonder what’s going on with Michelle Obama. She didn’t go to the Jimmy Carter funeral. She didn’t go to the inauguration. She’s been not seen in public. Obama has. Barack is out going to dinner by himself. Something’s going on. And look, regardless of what I think of them politically, I hope she’s okay. I do, too. Because, you know, that could be something going on there with her.
SPEAKER 04 :
But again, I don’t… Listen, of course I don’t want anything bad to be going on with her health-wise, but how about if she is just a shallow, persnickety woman who would not show up for the Trump inauguration because she hates him and wouldn’t show up even for the Carter funeral because she’d have to sit by him? Isn’t that Occam’s razor the simplest explanation, that she’s just petty?
SPEAKER 13 :
Maybe. Well, she could. Look, you know what I remember of her? She only became proud of her country when her husband ran for president. Go with that. I’ll never forget that one. There you go. Yeah, you go say that. For the first time in your life, you’re proud of America only because your husband ran for president. Unbelievable. But you know what? It’s a new day. It is. You said something about an extra spring in your step. Isn’t it fun to come to work now every day?
SPEAKER 04 :
Every day. It always has been a joy and a blessing. But there’s something about these days, man. There’s something about these days.
SPEAKER 13 :
You go with that. It hasn’t always been a joy or blessing for me in the past, not the last four years, but, boy, I’m loving work now. I am loving it.
SPEAKER 07 :
All right, have a great one. We will. Download the podcast and hear all of Mike and Mark’s conversations at MikeOnline.com for the M&M experience.
