SPEAKER 07 :
This is Rush to Reason.
SPEAKER 12 :
You are going to shut your damn yapper and listen for a change because I got you pegged, sweetheart. You want to take the easy way out because you’re scared. And you’re scared because if you try and fail, there’s only you to blame. Let me break this down for you. Life is scary. Get used to it.
SPEAKER 14 :
There are no magical fixes. With your host, John Rush.
SPEAKER 19 :
My advice to you is to do what your parents did. Get a job, sir. You haven’t made everybody equal. You’ve made them the same, and there’s a big difference.
SPEAKER 01 :
Let me tell you why you’re here. You’re here because you know something. What you know you can’t explain, but you feel it. You’ve felt it your entire life, that there’s something wrong with the world. You don’t know what it is, but it’s there. It is this feeling that has brought you to me.
SPEAKER 12 :
Are you crazy? Am I? Or am I so sane that you just blew your mind?
SPEAKER 06 :
It’s Rush to Reason with your host, John Rush.
SPEAKER 09 :
Filling in is Andy Pate, party of choice. And I’m your host, Andy Pate, filling in for John Rush. And I am joined today by the terrible twosome. Yep, they are Luke Cash.
SPEAKER 24 :
Man.
SPEAKER 09 :
And Tanner Cole. Man. You’re only half men today. Okay? Only half men today. First of all, Luke, you’ve been under the weather for a couple weeks. Yeah. So you’re only like half a man. Right. Been coughing, been hacking. Exactly.
SPEAKER 05 :
Suffering.
SPEAKER 09 :
Did you know, Tanner, that they found out that COVID did not come from a lab in China? It came from Luke.
SPEAKER 20 :
It came from me. I made it. Yes. You’re part of Trendy Aragua?
SPEAKER 09 :
Yeah. Trendy Aragua. Luke actually did not have COVID, but I like saying that about him. And Tanner, you are only half a man. And you know why? Because you still have not seen Guardians of the Galaxy.
SPEAKER 20 :
Ah, it’s a long time coming. Maybe tonight.
SPEAKER 09 :
You’ve got to watch. Can you believe he hasn’t seen Guardians? I can’t believe it. How can you not watch it? Look, look, I just want you to know, Tanner, until you see Guardians, here in America, we offer many genders that you can, you know, claim.
SPEAKER 20 :
Well, I like a lot of them, but my buddies turned on one of those Falcon movies this weekend, and I was like, this sucks. So maybe Guardians of the Galaxy is the next Marvel I have to watch.
SPEAKER 09 :
Yeah, the Falcon movies, pretty bad. The latest one, though, where he becomes Captain America that just came out last week, not that bad.
SPEAKER 20 :
Okay, that’s good to know.
SPEAKER 09 :
Not great. You know, kind of average, you know. It had the great flying scenes.
SPEAKER 05 :
Marvel out of 10?
SPEAKER 09 :
Yeah, you know. It’s a Marvel movie. It’s a Marvel movie. Yeah, but, you know, here’s what it was really missing, and I don’t want to go into my whole review that I did for it. I gave it, I think, two and a half. it just wasn’t as funny as the old ones you know you got to have a tony stark to be that funny oh yeah i mean them kicking out all those actors makes it way harder for me to watch and i like anthony mackie but i like him too he’s very likable but he’s not a comedian okay he’s not that really funny guy uh they tried to insert humor here and there for the most part it didn’t fly but Did you have a lot of fun? Is he very likable? Do you have a mystery? Do you have fights? Yeah, so that’s okay. Okay, speaking of fights, a lot of people right now are fighting over what’s going on with the Social Security Administration and Elon Musk. Hey, Tanner, bring us up to speed really quick here. What has Elon Musk discovered?
SPEAKER 20 :
So there’s… At least 10 – let’s go 20 million people apparently that are over 110 in this country.
SPEAKER 07 :
Sweet.
SPEAKER 20 :
Some of them are all the way up to 200 years old, which – Okay.
SPEAKER 09 :
Doing good. This – and I counted it up. It looked like about 11.5 million over the age of 120, which you know what that tells me? That tells me that the Make America Healthy Again movement with RFK is working. It worked 30 years ago. We are already living longer. My gosh, we’ve got 11.5 million people over 120 years old. RFK is a miracle worker. I am very impressed with Maha. I’m all down for Maha. Elon Musk actually is going to eliminate 11.5 million names over 120 years old from the registry. In related news, Democrat registration has fallen by 11.5 million. Is that amazing or what? I don’t know if there’s a connection there.
SPEAKER 20 :
We were all saying, how did Biden get all those votes and Kamala didn’t? Yes. At least she was coherent. I mean, maybe coherent.
SPEAKER 09 :
I think the funny thing is, like those 20 million, whatever, that are over 100, over 110, I think it was over 120 million, the date of death field was set to false. So for date of death, false, which ironically is the answer my wife gives when asked her age. So go ahead.
SPEAKER 20 :
Non-applicable. Yes, non-applicable. Did you see Elon? I can’t remember what it’s called, but all these social security, what they’ve stored over the years, only 10,000 Americans can retire every year. And they send it down this vault that was built in, like, 1950. And he went there. He’s like, well, what happens if the elevators stop working? They’re like, well, unless people retire. And it’s like, what world do we live in? It sounds like a cartoon.
SPEAKER 09 :
You know, we’re… Dude, when you look at the federal government, they are so behind the times. They need Doge so bad, don’t they, Luke? I mean, it’s not just saving a ton of money. It’s bringing them not just, you know, up to the 20th century, 21st century. It’s bringing them past the 19th century. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER 05 :
It feels like we’ve been pretty ancient for a while.
SPEAKER 09 :
It does. Okay, well, tell you what. After the break, we’re going to be talking some about what Doge has found, and it’s been a lot of fun. I’ve been really enjoying it. SPEAKER 14 :
God. Country. Reason. Now back to John Rush.
SPEAKER 09 :
And welcome back to Rush Reason. Denver’s Afternoon Rush. KLZ 560. Andy Pate filling in for John Rush along with Luke Cash.
SPEAKER 05 :
Man.
SPEAKER 09 :
And Tanner Cole. Man. That’s right. You are real men. Real men. The women, once again, yes, once again, are climbing up the side of the building just to get in here. You know, they really should just take the elevator. It’s easier.
SPEAKER 05 :
They should. But, you know, we’re providing a service to the people. This is cardio. This is exercise. Right.
SPEAKER 09 :
I think when you are driven by absolute lust, as, of course, all women are when just knowing that you two exist, you forget about things like elevators. You don’t think rationally. You just think. fall apart.
SPEAKER 05 :
It’s all primal instinct.
SPEAKER 09 :
It’s all primal. It’s very primal. Okay. Tanner.
SPEAKER 15 :
Poor Tanner.
SPEAKER 09 :
He’s not up to this. Okay. USAID and Doge. It has been fun. I want you to listen to a quote, a little talk for a couple of minutes here from one of my favorite people. His name is Stephen Miller. He’s on Trump’s team and he’s kind of everywhere. He does a little bit of everything. He’s big into Trump’s economic policy and so many other portions of what Trump does. And he’s on Hannity here, and he’s talking about some of what Doge has discovered. Here we go.
SPEAKER 04 :
USAID has been exposed as the funding mechanism for the radical left here and around the world. The reason why the Democrats are up in arms is that Donald Trump exposed their scheme. They’ve been using USAID to line their pockets, to line the pockets of radical left Marxist organizations to fund gender studies in Albania, diversity, equity, and inclusion all over the world. to fund radical left illegal immigration open borders groups that support the dissolution of national borders. They’re even funding left-wing media organizations here in the United States. The radical left in this country are federal employees. In other words, they are sponsored and paid by the federal government. These non-governmental organizations are all subsidized by American taxpayer dollars. So if you ever wonder, where’s the radical left coming from? Who’s paying for all this BS? How is it possible there’s so much insanity in our corporations, in our schools? It’s because your tax dollars have been funding it and Donald Trump is shutting it down.
SPEAKER 18 :
I mean, I don’t think there’s one American that would ever support any of this money being spent. How were they able to hide it? And thank God Elon Musk and Donald Trump, the president, are exposing this and informing the American people with their money. Why isn’t this money going to people in North Carolina? Why isn’t it going to people in California? Why isn’t it going to people in Florida, Tennessee, South Carolina? Why isn’t it going to poor people in America?
SPEAKER 04 :
Exactly, Sean. We have in America veterans. Okay.
SPEAKER 09 :
This is crazy. Okay. And you’ve both seen a lot of the lists. I don’t want to reel off everything because there are so many lists of so many things that the money is going to. Here’s one that just came across the thing. $27 million to teach people in Morocco to do pottery, to make pottery. They could care less. Well, people in Morocco, first of all, are experts at making pottery. This is like sending $27 million to Saquon Barkley to learn to be a running back. Okay, this is like sending $27 million to Hunter Biden to learn how to do crack. Right, these are professionals. Yeah, these are professionals. They really don’t need the help. This is incredible. I mean, look at this. Two million to strengthen trans led groups delivering gender affirming care in Guatemala. In other words, we’re going to cut up Guatemalan kids and change their genders. And you’re going to spend two million dollars on that. LGBTQ people in Western the Balkans, the Balkans. You know how many? First of all, how many people are in the Balkans? OK, virtually none. And then the trans number there has got to be incredibly small. Here’s what I just don’t understand. Meanwhile, all the Democrats are screaming the sky is falling and you’ve seen them singing. Oh, gosh, they can’t sing. All right. Just wow. You know, chanting, saying, why do why do they always chant and sing? But I want to I want to give a little bit of a message to the Democrats right now. When you scream the sky is falling, it had better fall. OK, it had better fall. You’re telling people that everything is going to collapse around us because of the cuts that Trump is making in these things. And yet. Nothing is happening. OK, when you look at it, first of all, these the programs being cut, they almost entirely benefit overseas groups or less than five percent of Americans. Did you see this? Tons of it. We’re spending tens and tens of billions of dollars trying to gay the world, basically. You know, if people want to be gay, live your life. Go for it. But I don’t think we should be, the American taxpayer should be paying tens of billions of dollars trying to help make the world more gay. 100%. All right. This is crazy. It’s absolutely crazy. But here’s the big part. They’re also pushing a lot of trans stuff. You’re talking about 5%, less than 5% of the population and most of it overseas. So if Trump removes that, Luke, how many Americans are going to feel that? None.
SPEAKER 05 :
None.
SPEAKER 09 :
None. Yes. So you’re the Democrat Party. You’re setting yourself up for incredible failure here because you are basically saying he’s taking something away from you. He’s taking something away from you. We were right to spend all this and this is going to crush your life. And then he takes it away and you don’t feel a thing. You’re going to look like an idiot. What do you think? Sure.
SPEAKER 20 :
No wonder they could never get inflation back down because they keep spending money on trans stuff in countries that probably don’t even believe in that or believe in gayness.
SPEAKER 09 :
Well, here’s a deeper question, Tanner, and I’ll throw it to you first, then Luke. Why are we spending one dime on pushing any agenda, left, right, middle, any agenda? Why is public money being used to push agenda? Now, I understand there are political, you could say closing the border is an agenda. I guess you could say that, right? It isn’t. It’s called national security. You can say that. But why are we taking all this money and telling people LGBTQ, LGBTQ, LGBTQ, and also, by the way, all kinds of other things on race and diversity, biodiversity, whatever that is, and all these things when we are spending all this money to push agendas? And that gets exposed. How is that going to look for Democrats? Is it even debatable that we shouldn’t be spending money? I mean, I’m a born-again right-wing evangelical Christian. Should we be spending public money to try to make more people like me?
SPEAKER 05 :
No.
SPEAKER 09 :
Why not? I’m adorable. I’m an incredible guy. I mean, how can you say that? No! Of course not, right? Go ahead, Tanner.
SPEAKER 20 :
They’ve given, you know, America’s land of the free, but pushing these… demonic i mean in my opinion demonic ideologies on the not just our citizens but across the world is i mean it was going to set up to fail unless we didn’t win this last election but i mean you should be focusing on the american education system some of these kids graduate high school with like a fifth grade uh reading average And we’re going to end up pushing gender and race ideologies instead of focusing on maybe our own children, instead of sending money to transgender choirs in Honduras or wherever it may have been.
SPEAKER 09 :
Yeah. I mean, it’s incredible. Transgendered plays. Yeah. This is incredible. We’re pushing an agenda all over the world at great expense. Right. I just don’t understand it. I don’t understand how we can justify this, and I don’t understand how the Democrats can think the jig won’t be up at some point. Go ahead, Luke.
SPEAKER 05 :
Yeah, I’m just trying to figure out how did we allow this to happen to begin with? Because it’s a good thing to be cutting all this spending. It’s another thing entirely to try and get to the root of the issue. How did we allow this spending to happen in the first place? I don’t remember voting on any of this. I’ve been working at this station for the past five, six years, and I didn’t know any of these things existed. I never voted on it. How many failures had to happen in the line for this to have been approved to begin with?
SPEAKER 09 :
I think a big problem was this. that the left for so long owned the media and big tech. They owned really the big four, right? The big four movers of public thought. Media, academia, Right. Entertainment, the entertainment industry, including sports and big tech, which means that they totally ran the public square. As a result, they could little by little keep growing their spending in all these areas on agenda behind the scenes. And anybody who would call it out was basically called a crackpot. They were basically called a conspiracy theorist. They were basically told that they were exaggerating and it would get shut down or it simply wouldn’t get out there. It would only go through the conservative press or conservative intelligentsia. Nobody would know, Luke. Let’s put it this way. Evil really thrives in darkness.
SPEAKER 05 :
I’m talking more on a legal policy side of things. If this is U.S. tax dollars, U.S. money, my money coming out of my paycheck,
SPEAKER 09 :
But it’s not illegal. They can spend it in this way if they want.
SPEAKER 05 :
But I’m saying that shouldn’t be allowed. I agree. We should vote on how our money is spent. I’m saying that the failure happened at a very foundational level to allow this kind of spending to happen without our input to begin with.
SPEAKER 09 :
But if that were true, then we would have Tabor for the whole country.
SPEAKER 05 :
That’d be nice.
SPEAKER 09 :
Yes, I agree. I’d like the whole country to have Tabor, right? Yeah. The fact is, there were two big things that happened in Washington that allowed this. First of all, you have the Democrat Party, which wanted all of this. And secondly, you had the Republican Party that in the face of the big four, wilted. OK, and I think people get a little too tough on Republicans for not fighting at times. They don’t understand a lot of Republicans were in purple districts. It’s kind of hard to take this big stand, that big stand and just get voted out the next election. Right. It’s very difficult. It took a wave of discontent. And I think the biggest thing that has brought this wave of discontent hasn’t even been Trump, but it was Biden. And don’t get me wrong, Trump did a great job in the way he called it all out and he’s been leading fantastically well. I’ve been loving it. But it was Biden who allowed our entire country to be invaded, fully invaded for four years. And Americans had never seen that before. It was Biden who championed having men and women’s sports, biological men in women’s sports. You know, guys, for the first time ever, we watched guys in the ring beating the hell out of women in the Olympics. OK, and Americans were horrified. They were horrified that that issue. Actually, you know, there were a lot more moms and dads who were finding out that their daughters were changing in the locker room or showering in the locker room with biological men who were in there. I think that the Democrats so horrified. American citizens, with their actions, especially over the last four years, and let’s face it, they went crazy, that they created a setting we’ve never seen before. They created a setting that now, instead of having a skeptical public that looks at Donald Trump and says, gee, he’s kind of a mean guy, I’m not sure I really like him, now you’ve got an entire public where everybody except the hard left, I’m not just talking about the right, but the independents as well, so basically two-thirds of the country, they’re walking down the streets with torches and pitchforks. and they don’t care. What Doge does to the government and what Doge takes from Democrats. But we haven’t had that until now. Does that make sense? Yeah.
SPEAKER 05 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 09 :
You know, it’s really crazy. I believe Joe Biden and it wasn’t really Biden. Obviously, he was mentally gone. But I mean, the people running Joe Biden who were I believe that this was caused by the hard left taking over the Democrat Party and driving the agenda and using the U.S. government to go crazy. And now they’ve unleashed hell on themselves. Tanner, what do you think?
SPEAKER 20 :
I think they went just too far left too quickly, and it backfired entirely. I mean, now Trump’s up to like 70% nationwide in the polls, which I don’t know if that’s ever happened with the president, or at least in a long time.
SPEAKER 09 :
That’s approval on some of what he’s doing. His personal approval has peaked at about, well, actually one poll had it all the way up to 55%. which is unreal okay another 153 another 151 but you see that first number is a five right okay that that wasn’t happening in his first presidency people they wanted a real president first of all but they wanted normalcy and this whole idea that you know remember when the democrats threw trump out in 2020 and we can all debate them you know all the legality of that whatever set that aside when they did that what did they say the adults are back in charge OK, so they went back into the White House. They said the adults are back in charge. And look what they brought us. You know, this this biological guy with biological parts is in the locker room undressing in front of your daughter who just came out of the shower. OK, this guy, this biological guy here is beating up a woman in the Olympics.
SPEAKER 20 :
OK, you’ve got they tried so hard to say, no, she just has some hormonal things that are off. Sure enough, the Olympics. And they say, yeah, just a dude.
SPEAKER 09 :
Yeah, it’s a dude, okay? I could tell. Yeah, and then, of course, we got totally invaded on the southern border. It was an all-out invasion. I think that right now what we’re seeing is a lashback by the American public. It’s not just a lashback by Doge and Trump and all them. It’s the entire American public outside of the hard left. Because, Luke, have you ever seen a setting like this where America is willing to look at the government and say, we don’t care how many of you are fired?
SPEAKER 05 :
Yeah, it’s been a while. It’s been a while. I think this is the first time, at least in my memory.
SPEAKER 09 :
Yeah. Well, let me ask you guys this, and tell you what, we’re going to take a break, but first I want to put this question to you, and then we’ll come back and talk about it. Sound good?
SPEAKER 05 :
Sounds good.
SPEAKER 09 :
Okay, here’s the question. 2026. OK, midterms are always supposed to be terrible for the president. Right. You’re supposed to lose a bunch of seats. Will he or are the Democrats in a lot of trouble with what Doge is bringing forth and with the fact that so many of Trump’s actions are so popular? Have the Democrats set up a very troublesome 2026? We’ll look at that after the break. Up next is Cub Creek Heating and Air. Winter is here, and with it, heating emergencies. Boy, you never want it to go out when it’s cold. Like today, right now, it’s dropping out there. It’s like 12 degrees and falling out there. Can you imagine your heater going out at night like that? It’s awful. Okay, folks, in case that happens, have this number ready. 303-656-5467. Once again, Cub Creek at 303-656-5467.

SPEAKER 10 :
Stay up to date with Rush to Reason after the show on Twitter at Rush to Reason.
SPEAKER 09 :
And welcome back to Rush to Reason, Denver’s Afternoon Rush, KLC 560, Andy Pate filling in for John Rush along with Tanner Cole and Luke Cash. And on the line right now, we’ve got Jim in Denver. Jim, what’s happening?
SPEAKER 08 :
Hey, guys, how you doing? Hey, I see the people in the streets. Now, I am a Trump voter, but I see the people in the streets, and I am already concerned about the midterms. People in the streets. Yeah, I guess it’s like Denver’s got people down there protesting. A lot of different states. I mean, other than just the District of Columbia, there’s people out there with signs.
SPEAKER 09 :
Yeah. It’s been actually surprising. I thought that these protests would be much larger. Their turnout has been rather surprisingly low. I expected a lot bigger. But go ahead, Jim.
SPEAKER 08 :
Well, it’s only been three weeks, and I’m just wondering if it’s going to build. as these actions pile up and Donald Trump straightens out our nation. But I’m rather concerned about his safety.
SPEAKER 09 :
You know, Jim, that’s a good concern, always, because there are people, let’s face it, we’re talking about a guy who two people have already tried to kill him. And he is also, this is not a president who hides himself away in a bunker like Joe Biden. He’s out there constantly. And I know he has the best protection in the world. But he leaves himself so open. But let me ask you this, Jim. First of all, I just want to agree. You’re right. It could happen. I do hope he is careful. Okay. But going back to these protests in the street. Do you really think they’re hurting him or helping him? Because they have been laughable. They sing off key. They they do these ridiculous chants. They are protesting against things that are basically 60 40 issues in favor of Trump. You know, things that people really want. Right now, over 60% of the nation favors what Doge is doing. Right now, it’s 60-40 on immigration. Right now, it’s about 65-35 on men and women’s sports, just one after the other. Are they hurting him, or are they helping him?
SPEAKER 08 :
Well, you can make fun of how they’re dressed and how they sound, but I mean, I think at some point… Um, they need to be taken seriously, especially if they get, they’ve just started now. It’s only been three weeks. Yeah.
SPEAKER 09 :
But here’s the thing, Jim, like you said, well, don’t worry, I’m going to, I’m going to give you more time, but I got to jump in for a second. Um, you said I can make fun of how they look and stuff. That’s the point. They look ridiculous. And here’s the big thing. We just came through four years of the biggest kook show. This country has ever seen, didn’t we? We came through four years of a president who was mentally gone. We came through four years of an administration pushing every wacko, far kooky left thing that you possibly could. They shocked America. We just came through four years of an administration allowing America to be overrun. at the southern border to where Americans all over the country were seeing just a staggering rise in illegal immigrants. We have seen the kook left take over. So right now, if I were on the left right now and I were one of their leaders, in fact, I do have a clip in the next hour that I’m going to be playing from one of their people basically saying we need these people to be silent. We need them to go away. They’re killing us. Because what these people are doing is they were reminding people of the worst aspects of what we just escaped over the last four years. Does that sound fair?
SPEAKER 08 :
Yep, I agree. I just called in to agree with you. So have a great afternoon.
SPEAKER 09 :
Okay. I hate to have him go, though. He was making so much sense. Tanner, what do you think of what Jim’s saying there? Because I think he’s making a heck of a lot of sense.
SPEAKER 20 :
I mean, I saw some girl I knew from college was at the Capitol in Denver the other day, and they were all there waving their Mexican flags, Honduran flags, whatever. I think I only saw 200 people. So it’s not like there’s in L.A. there was quite a bit of people like on the freeway, which was scary. But other than that, I think the movement slowly dying, even in Aurora, when I saw a military truck out there arresting people of those apartment complexes. There was like 20 people on the street recording and some news, but that was about it. It wasn’t these giant droves of people that I think they are used to. I’m sure in D.C. it’s worse, but it doesn’t seem as popular anymore. I think some of them have given up and some of them are kind of seeing the light.
SPEAKER 09 :
Well, Luke, Jim did have one good concern, though. I mean, he had a lot of good concerns, actually, but here’s one. This is just starting. Could those groups grow? Could this become popular? Could this take on? Could people become actually really worried about Trump’s actions and Dozier’s actions? Or do you see the bulldozer just keeping going?
SPEAKER 05 :
I think… Like any sort of significant change, you need to be tactful about it. There is a very real concern and a real probability of overreach. All Doge has to do is mess up once, and they’ll have everyone chomping at the bit. Good point. Something I’ve experienced from the immigration side, I have a decent amount of Hispanic friends out in Texas. They’re living in Houston. They’ve personally experienced – they’re all here legally, but they’ve experienced some stuff being thrown their way because they’re caught in the crossfire of what is this huge movement.
SPEAKER 09 :
What do you mean stuff being – I agree with you, but I want to know what you mean.
SPEAKER 05 :
They’ve had people screaming at them outside of the truck, go back to your own country. It’s like they’ve been here living legally since they’ve been born. They’re us. Right. There is a wave of movement that’s happening. So I think – While I agree with a lot of what Doge is doing and I agree that the border should be secured, I think there also needs to be a tact and grace moving forward. Because if you just bulldoze everything, you’re going to hurt a lot of people in that crossfire if you’re not very careful.
SPEAKER 09 :
Yeah, well, bottom line is you’ve got to be thinking about PR, right? You’ve got to be thinking about how is the market going to take this? And I don’t think that Doge and Trump are creating what you just said. I think, once again, Biden created it. I’m not trying to excuse everything Trump has ever done. You know me. I’ve called him out at times where I thought he was ineloquent. But… When you let us be invaded for four years to the degree we were, and it comes through what? Our southern border, which is run by what? Mexico. Okay. People, I think you’re going to have people, idiots, I’m just going to call them idiots, who are going to look at that and suddenly equate the race. Uh-huh. And say, oh, yeah, you people who are from down there, you have no loyalty to America. Go back to your home country and you got some guy sitting here going, I’ve lived here my whole life. My parents were born here. What are you doing? I think that there are people on our side who can, I’ll say on our side, because these people probably voted for Trump, who can be idiots and hurt the movement. And I think you’re right on that.
SPEAKER 05 :
Just like how there are certain people on the left who will hurt the less movement, and you have the leaders on the left going, hey, you’re making us look bad, the same thing can happen on the right. I don’t want to say everyone’s job, but I think it’s important to keep that in mind to ensure you’re not hurting the movement when you’re pushing for something that is objectively good.
SPEAKER 09 :
I think you’re right. Basically, what you want to do is you don’t want to replicate what the left did with defund the cops.
SPEAKER 05 :
Right.
SPEAKER 09 :
That’s where they overreached and angered an entire nation.
SPEAKER 05 :
You don’t want to be those people.
SPEAKER 09 :
Right. Because what happens? Oh, OK. Now, every every time that crime surges in a city, who’s going to get blamed? You are. Right. Because you said defund the cops. So if you say cut, cut, cut everything in sight, which, by the way, I’m loving. Yeah, so far, so good. So far, I think they’ve been very surgical about it, right? But you better be careful not to cut something that’s going to be seen as a crucial service and then have that service taken away.
SPEAKER 05 :
Right. Like I said, there are people chomping at the bit. They are waiting for an opportunity to, you know, jump down your throat. So don’t give it to them.
SPEAKER 09 :
No, don’t give it to them. OK, on the line right now, we got John from Cheyenne who would never make any of these mistakes. John, how you doing?
SPEAKER 11 :
Well, I make more. My initials are J.C. and I make mistakes all the time.
SPEAKER 09 :
Your wife texted me and said, John never makes mistakes. Boy, you’ve got her under your thumb, I tell you what.
SPEAKER 11 :
Yeah, okay. Was it Tanner or Luke that asked the question about 15 minutes ago, how did this happen where we’re funding all this crap? It was me, Luke. Okay, I’m going to explain to you. How did we get here? The last time the United States Congress did its job And passed a budget. Balanced. 12 appropriation bill budget was 1996. That was about a minute.
SPEAKER 09 :
Yeah, but John, we don’t need balanced budgets. What are you talking about?
SPEAKER 11 :
No, no. Any budget. So all we have passed since 1996 is continuing resolutions. Resolutions. and omnibus spending bills. That’s true. So when they send a 3,000-page omnibus spending bill and say you have 24 hours to vote and you have to pass the bill to know what’s in the bill, that’s how these things happen. That’s why it’s so important that Trump insists that they go back to regular order and they pass the proper budget. in the right time and no more continuing resolutions.
SPEAKER 09 :
Do you favor one bill or two?
SPEAKER 11 :
What do you mean when you say one bill or two?
SPEAKER 09 :
Well, there’s two different ways it’s being looked at for the budget bill. Are they going to do it all in one? One big beautiful bill, as Trump says, or are you going to break it down in two? I’ve seen good arguments both ways.
SPEAKER 11 :
That’s for the rest of this year. I’m not talking about this year. I’m talking about for fiscal 26. We need to go back to regular order and pass 12 appropriation bills by September 30th, 25. That is the proper way the government is supposed to do it. No more continuing resolutions and stuff. Right now, we’re stuck in that quandary that Biden left us that we have to do that to get to September 30th.
SPEAKER 09 :
Well, basically, you’re saying that we need to be like Rand Paul. And I would agree.
SPEAKER 11 :
Well, no, actually, he’s been calling for it. It was Newt Gingrich and Bill Clinton that signed the last actual budget. So, I mean, you got to give Clinton credit. At least he signed some budgets and didn’t just say no, no, no.
SPEAKER 09 :
Well, you know, maybe, John, maybe because you just hit on something here. Maybe we have a chance to get it again because the last time we had a revolution on the right that just overran the country like we’re seeing right now was the Gingrich— Yeah, it was the Gingrich Revolution in 94, and that’s where Bill Clinton, of all people, had to say the era of big government is over. Why? Why? Because of Newt. And this idea that Clinton was actually running the country and balancing budgets, no, no, no, no, no.
SPEAKER 11 :
It was Newt. The Congress was doing their job. For the last almost 30 years, our Congress has just abdicated all their power and responsibility to let the president act like a a king or a dictator with executive orders and everything. And it’s both sides. And you could go all the way through back to, you know, Bush W. I mean, with all his war spending bills and continuing resolutions and Obama and Paul Ryan doing it and Trump won and not giving Trump an out, you know, it goes all the way back both sides. they’re both equally guilty. And this is where I wouldn’t say equally, but yeah, both guilty. I love X because right now, every one of us can get on X, contact their local congressman, their senators. Now I have one congresswoman and two senators, and I’ve contacted all three of them. And I’ve told them that they got to go back to the regular order and stop this continuing resolution stuff. And I’ve gotten responses. But if all of our conservatives start contacting their congressperson and their senators and say, we’ve got to go back to work, all this extra spending for, you know, condoms in Gaza or whatever you want to find will go away because then it has to go through the appropriations committees. All right. Make it sense, Andy. You’re making total sense.
SPEAKER 09 :
Well done, John.
SPEAKER 11 :
That’s why it won’t happen.
SPEAKER 09 :

SPEAKER 14 :
Now back to Rush to Reason on KLZ 560.
SPEAKER 09 :
And welcome back to Rush to Reason, Denver’s Afternoon Rush, KLZ 560, Andy Pate filling in for John Rush. Hey, really quick here before we go to Dave. Luke just brought something up. Luke just mentioned something because I thought Jim made one really good point. These little protests going on, they could suddenly grow if something goes wrong. Luke gave a good example of what?
SPEAKER 05 :
We were just saying, you know, if Doge cuts a project or, you know, cuts funding to a project that had been voted on. People wanted this thing and then they cut funding. Or something that’s like a universal public good. Anything that everyone can sit around and go, yeah, I think hosting classes to prevent scams on senior citizens is a good thing. And then they cut something like that. Anything that could hurt the community or hurt something that we voted on.
SPEAKER 09 :
So far, they’re going after stuff that everybody hates anyway, so it doesn’t matter. But what if they mess up? That’s a good point. Okay, on the line right now, we’ve got Dave in Woodland Park. Dave, how are you, sir?
SPEAKER 21 :
I’m doing all right, Andy. It’s good to hear your voice, man. Hopefully we’ll see each other at one of these Republican summits again. I would love that.
SPEAKER 22 :
I think that that’s a straw man argument. Because… Things just need to be cut. Now, there are things that are going to be cut and that are going to come back as they go through the list. Like they had to make the correction with the Ghana condoms and stuff like that. There will be some corrections, but the majority of people, the majority of American citizens, they’re loving these cuts. They’re loving what Trump is having Elon Musk doing. We’re for it. If we make some mistakes, oh well. I think of the $59 million, I think of the trillions of dollars that could have housed homeless vets, that could have built high schools, that could have paid for lunches, that could have put clothing on children’s backs. And so when I hear Democrats squawking about Elon Musk doing this, Elon Musk cutting that, it’s water off a duck’s back. Let’s get this done and make the correction afterwards. those programs that get cut but are legitimate, they will get that money back, and they’ll take better care of that money also.
SPEAKER 09 :
Dave, do you think there’s a thing to be what I’ve been saying? Basically, America right now, outside of the left, America is so angry at the Democrats and government, they don’t care what Trump and Musk do to them. They really… I mean, they’re mad.
SPEAKER 22 :
That’s a great point. We’re mad. We are angry because we see where this money has gone. People’s covers are about to get pulled, especially when they dig deep into, when they get into the Department of Education, when they get into the SEC, when they get into the military, and they see… the kickbacks, and they see where the money has gone, and they see what the unions have done with that money. Instead of putting it into teachers, instead of putting it into students, instead of putting it into schools, they’ve lined their pockets, they’ve paid for their politicians, they’ve paid to get their agendas driven and our kids uneducated. Baltimore’s got 13 schools where children couldn’t pass reading and writing efficiency tests.
SPEAKER 09 :
Right.
SPEAKER 22 :
We are number 40. We are number 40. We are the greatest nation on this planet. and can’t educate our children, and are making our children deathly sick. So people are seeing that this is our golden age. And I’ll share something with you.
SPEAKER 09 :
Dave, really quick here. I’m not sure you… Yeah, but haven’t you heard we’ve got millions living past 120? And you say we’re so sick. I think we’re doing well. I’m just kidding.
SPEAKER 08 :
Go ahead.
SPEAKER 09 :
Just with the social security.
SPEAKER 22 :
Go ahead. We look at… This is our golden age. This is where America is going to be. That lighthouse. Not just the shining light. We’re going to be a lighthouse to the world. And, you know, I call God Daddy. Daddy told me this in 2020. And when it didn’t happen in 2020, I was shaken to the core. Because, Daddy, what’s going on? But… We had to go through the next four years. We had to experience that. It’s like when David got kicked out of the kingdom of Israel by his son, they had to experience Absalom. And then when David came back, I mean, they were, it was incredible. It was absolutely incredible. So America needed to experience Biden.
SPEAKER 09 :
I think you’re right. Well, and by the way, Dave, I mean, Dave, if Israel could handle 40 years in the wilderness, we can handle four years of Biden.
SPEAKER 22 :
Man, so I’m celebrating. I’m not, I don’t, I’m, you know, Elon’s going to make mistakes. Trump is going to make mistakes. I don’t care. I really don’t care. They are going to get it done.
SPEAKER 09 :
And I think the biggest thing here, Dave, is that I don’t think America cares. Now, if they make big mistakes, right, then it could come back to haunt them. But I think it’s going to take some big mistakes. Dave, I think you’re right. I think the future is looking bright. And in fact, in the next hour, we’re going to be talking about education. We’re going to be talking about Doge. We’re going to be talking about how the fact is that Democrats have set themselves up for a bad time. Sound good? yes it does man great show amen Dave thanks so much oh He always lifts me up. Dave is one of the most uplifting people, literally, in the entire state of Colorado. That’s very sweet. If you ever meet him, you just feel lifted up after talking to him. Okay, folks, that’s it for our number one. In our number two, we’re going to be talking about education reform. We’re going to talk some more because I never get that answer from you guys. What is facing the Democrats in the next 16 months? Because it’s going to be something. and basically we’re going to have a lot of fun. Can we get our kids learning again? Can the Democrats ever come back? I hope not. Until then, keep it right here on Rush to Reason, KLZ 560.
