You tell me if there’s a more iconic photograph you’ve ever seen in your life. The blood down his face, the American, the bright blue sky. Well, because it made Trump look good. The Pulitzer Prize Committee refused to give it the award for best breaking news photograph of 2024. We do know that. Who stepped forward to say because of that, we denied him the prize? Oh, no. What do you think is more iconic than that picture? I totally know. What do you think would be a better picture? Come on. Absolutely. What did win? Do we know what did win? Well, as somebody posted, they would have given a Pulitzer to a blurry iPhone picture of Greta Thunberg sipping oatmeal. before they would honor the most iconic image of the decade. Trump didn’t just break the media, he made them irrelevant. Here’s another good comment. That photo captured raw history. Trump bleeding, defiant, unbroken. And winning the election that day. That did at that moment. When he survived it, I remember thinking to myself, he won. There’s just no way. And if that had happened to Joe Biden, if that were Joe Biden in that picture, it would right now be on every classroom wall in America. That because it elevates Trump’s strength and reminds America who the real fighter is, the Pulitzer crowd snubbed it. This wasn’t about journalism, Noah Christopher wrote. It was about narrative control. The media cannot stand it. And I love this line. The media cannot stand it when truth favors our side. Go ahead.
SPEAKER 03 :
And there are various institutions, the Nobel Peace Prize, even the whole Nobel organization, you know, will help you in a hundred different ways. Right. Various that are supposed to be merit based. I don’t lie awake and I worry about the Nobel Prize. But gone are the days when those are based on merit. They’re often a political. All right.

Let’s let’s get into the real ideas, because tomorrow’s the day, you know, tomorrow’s D-Day. Nearly half nearly half the country. Yeah, well, I don’t know. Every three days, you better have a real ID. In fact, I’m supposed to go back again to New York this weekend. I just got back from there, and I don’t want to go back. And it’s like I’m supposed to see it’s an obligation. But, yeah, I mean, I’ve always had that little gold star, as far as I know, on my driver’s license. And I don’t remember doing anything special for it. Do you? Well, I think…

I guess it happened automatically. I think my last driver’s license renewal was two, three years ago, and it just happened. There’s my little white star in the gold circle or the other way around or something like that.

Well, you could opt into it, though, right? You opted into it.

I didn’t have to do anything.
SPEAKER 02 :
I think they ask you when you renew it. You may not have remembered. Maybe not. Who wouldn’t do it? Okay, here we go. You want to open up your phone lines? You want to open up your text line? Hey, Mike, Mark, what are you, government spying on us? The government, why would you give them that? People go nuts on this issue.

Do you think they don’t fly very often? Well, the people who are against it?

No, I think it is like a lot of other things. Take a base coat of healthy cynicism about government, a long track record of government doing all kinds of things that are intrusive and unnecessary, and then project that forward and create an atmosphere of cynicism and suspicion around everything. And there you have the real ID protesters. I agree. Listen, if there’s anybody who’s going to look for government overreach or government impropriety, it’s you and it’s me. I can’t find doodly squat that’s a problem with a real ID driver’s license.
SPEAKER 02 :
And I almost had to look for it because I never want to not reflect what a big segment of my audience believes. But on the other hand, look, if you really – good luck. Go live off the grid. Go live in a cabin somewhere on the mountains, on a mountain. But other than that, they know everything. What don’t they know already? You’ve got a social security number.
SPEAKER 03 :
We do. Isn’t that a de facto national ID? Do you remember, was there ever a time, it seems like it’s about 20 years ago, maybe more, because we’ve done this a long time, where we could have filled the lines with, well, I’ll tell you what, Mark, we’re going to work on getting this national ID number. I remember thinking, so? And then I got some pretty good answers as to why, because you don’t want to be that trackable or something like that. And as far as privacy and the information we give, here’s something that is charming in its… Retroactive stupidity. Grocery stores, you know how you can have like a little discount or something or other? I’m at Tom Thommer Kroger, and it’s like 1997, and they said, hey, if you give us your phone number or your email address, what was it you had to give them in order to get special discounts on stuff? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I didn’t do it, and I told the audience, we must rise up. We must stand up. You cannot have our personal information in order to get a 30-cent biscuit on a gallon of milk. I lost that argument in a millisecond. People were just wanting to save money at the grocery store. And so, whatever.

You’ve been to Alcatraz. Isn’t it one of the coolest tours you can take? I mean, it just instantly takes you back to Al Capone’s time. You can imagine being incarcerated and then trying to get out.

And I instinctively knew what he meant. The media is mocking him because he’s saying, look, Alcatraz is a scary, terrible, beautiful, iconic symbol. And, oh, look how incoherent he is. How could it be terrible and scary and wonder beautiful at the same time? Yeah, well, it is. I mean, but it’s also what he’s saying is it’s a it’s a symbol of, you know, a fortress of of what happens when you do bad things. I get it. I got it. And of course, right away, they’re mocking him. And they’re and they’re shooting that down, too. Now they’re shooting down the idea of a thousand dollars to self-deport. Is there anything? Of course it does. But you know what the scheme is. There is a scheme going on. The due process thing is a total scheme. And the scheme is this. It’s real simple. They know we can’t have 50 million trials. They know that, and that’s what they want. They want to gum it up, and they want to keep these people in America indefinitely, and they know that if they screech… They didn’t care about due process when the border was wide open. This is such a joke, and everybody’s… There was some Democrat on the border saying, well, yeah, border’s closed, and he’s not getting any credit for that whatsoever. What they’re freaking out about, though, is every other thing that he’s doing, everything that he’s accomplishing… Let’s go into a territory that’s going to get me in a whole bunch of trouble. Did you see what Mike Pence said about President Trump yesterday on CNN?

The reason that answer is no is because there is great wisdom in knowing whom to ignore. As soon as I saw that Mike Pence was going to be on CNN, I made other plans.

If you can tell me, I can only imagine. And let me tell you why it affects me personally a little bit. I want to like this guy a lot. Every time I’ve met him, he is this warm, gracious. And every time I’ve met him, he… That’s what I love. You know, he knows the business. He was a talk show host from Indiana. So he asks me about last time I interviewed him, you know, how the ratings, how are your numbers, how are your revenues? He knows the business. And so I and so I’ve I’ve got a soft spot for this guy. Why? So he goes and gets an award, some profile and courage. You know what that was? I mean, that’s for what?
SPEAKER 03 :
for refusing to do what there was an absolute foundation for doing, getting a pause button on the tabulation of a flawed electoral result.
SPEAKER 02 :
Correct. And so he gets an award from the Liz Cheneys of the world who are just slobbering all over him. But he doesn’t mention Trump by name during the ceremony. He’s got his little tux on and doesn’t. So then they took him to task for not mentioning. So he runs to CNN the next day and he attacks Trump. And he attacks Trump for pardoning people who were violent against police. And you know what? We could have that debate. I get it. That’s all right, I guess. But of all people, why doesn’t he just sit this one out?
SPEAKER 03 :
Why do people… No, two things I can help you with. Number one, it’s perfectly fine for you to harbor your fondness for Mike Pence. I have it too. He was a really great vice president in many ways. He helped Trump win. I will always have fondness for that.
SPEAKER 01 :

He is a snake, and he is attempting to carve out for himself a lane. These people, the Nikki Haley’s, the GOP establishment denizens, they believe that there’s going to be this. At some point, we’re all going to get sick of Trump. At some point, the bloom is going to come off the rose, and we’re going to come lunging toward a Paul Ryan, Mitt Romney, Mike Pence-style person. They’re just waiting for that moment.
