NHL Playoffs: Stars beat Jets 5-2; Panthers top Maple Leafs 2-0

The Dallas Stars scored three goals in the third period, to defeat the Winnipeg Jets 5-2 in Game 3 on Sunday. Dallas now has a 2-1 lead in the second-round Western Conference series.

Mikko Rantanen had a goal and two assists, including the tiebreaking goal by Alexander Petrovi; Roope Hintz also had a goal and an assist for the Stars, with Wyatt Johnston scoring a late goal, and Sam Steel and Mikael Granlund adding two assists. Stars goalie Jake Oettinger stopped 23 shots.

Game 4 is scheduled for Tuesday night in Dallas.

The Florida Panthers defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs 2-0 on Sunday night in Game 4, to even the Eastern Conference semifinal series.

Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 23 shots for his fifth career playoff shutout, with Carter Verhaeghe and Sam Bennett scoring for the Panthers en route to victory.

The Maple Leafs and the Panthers will face off for Game 5 in Toronto on Wednesday.
