All right, welcome. Happy Tuesday, everybody. Rush to Reason, Denver’s Afternoon Rush, KLZ 560. Myself, Andy Pate, Charlie Grimes, and it’s a little rainy today. A little bit. A little bit. We’ll take it. It was beautiful last night. Is your lawn, like, green like Ireland? Mine is. Yeah, almost to the point where, not to get off track here right off the bat, but almost to the point where, for those of you listening, if you notice it’s not the deep, dark shade of green, that typically means you’re starting to run out of fertilizer, which, given all the rain we’ve had, if you fertilized earlier in the year, say middle to end of March, that could very well be the case. It’s getting about time. Yeah, it’s about time for another dose.
SPEAKER 07 :
Now, what kind would you recommend? Just good old-fashioned lawn fertilizer.
SPEAKER 03 :
I’m one of those for those. I probably should talk about this on Fix-It Radio at some point. I like just the regular old organic stuff here locally. You can get that at co-ops. You can get Rich Lawn Turf food at a lot of lawn and garden centers. Don’t go out and spend a bunch of money on the Scott stuff. That’s great, and they’ve got some of it with the weed killer and stuff in it, but you spend a lot of money for that when you frankly don’t need to. Okay. In fact, most of the other organics, I call them organics, but the fertilizers that aren’t the Scots brand that typically are more organic in nature, you’ll find them more formulated for what we have here in Colorado versus other parts anyways.
SPEAKER 07 :
Okay, what about the fact that we’re coming into rising heat? Because we’re going to be coming into the 90s here very shortly. Is there any problem between being in the 90s and fertilizers?
SPEAKER 03 :
No, because the healthier the lawn is, the less water it typically needs. I kind of figured. I just wasn’t sure. What you have to be careful of is not putting down too much and not being able to water it because it’s super hot. That is a factor. But if you’ve got some cushion, which we do right now, putting it down, getting it watered in really well, and then letting it take hold, no, you’re fine.
SPEAKER 07 :
Do you raise your mower up a little?
SPEAKER 03 :
Right now, highest it can go.
SPEAKER 07 :
Okay.
SPEAKER 03 :
This time of the year, hottest it can go. Now, you don’t have to with the rain we’ve had, but to your point, the heat’s coming. Yeah, you don’t want to cut it low. No, I just keep it as tall as possible.
SPEAKER 07 :
Okay.
SPEAKER 03 :
As high as that mower will go, I raise it all the way to the top and keep it long. Does it look nice or short? Yes, it does.
SPEAKER 07 :
Do you get big wheels like Monster Truck and really have it high?
SPEAKER 03 :
Mine, I have to do a ride on, so it’s a little different. Oh, okay. But any of them will go high enough to where, and I’m just one where you just use less water and so on, the higher it is. And now, depending upon whether you bag it or you mulch it or whatever, depends on how often you mow and all that. That’s a whole other conversation.
SPEAKER 07 :
Okay, I’m going to divert from lawns for just a moment here. Cars. In extreme heat, do you change your oil more?
SPEAKER 03 :
No. Makes no difference. Keep it on the same schedule the way the oil is formulated, not a problem.
SPEAKER 07 :
I mean, internal combustion, you’re already at max heat.
SPEAKER 03 :
Correct.
SPEAKER 07 :
But I just wasn’t sure.
SPEAKER 03 :
Nope. You do exactly your same intervals you would do all year long.
SPEAKER 07 :
And there’s nothing different you do with your car at all.
SPEAKER 03 :
Anymore with modern cars used to be you did a lot of things different in the summertime. Not anymore.
SPEAKER 07 :
Okay.
SPEAKER 03 :
No, those days are pretty much gone. The average age of the fleet’s 13 years of age or so. So if you think about what age of vehicle that is, we’re into the, you know, 2010 or so, even 15 years old. So if you think about how new, you know, theoretically cars are in comparison to looking at what cars were in 2010 versus today. Yeah, they’re pretty modern at that point.
SPEAKER 07 :
What’s the big difference that they’ve done in cars now that makes them able to handle the different seasons so equally?
SPEAKER 03 :
Over the years, things like, of course, fuel injection, and now we have direct injection, and then automatic overdrive transmissions, and, and, and. They’ve just got a lot of things more in sync with how things operate and work than what it was when I started in the industry back in the 70s, where most every car overheated in the summertime and went up the hill. Yeah, constantly. Huge difference from then to today. Learned a lot in those amount of years. Let’s just say that.
SPEAKER 07 :
Well, I mean, last year, remember when we had that big string of 90s and even crossing over 100? I did see a lot of cars pulled off the side of the road.
SPEAKER 03 :
People that still don’t do proper maintenance, changing the cooling out like they should and so on. Oh, yeah, Andy, those extreme heats are hard on cooling systems, air conditioning systems, of course, and batteries.
SPEAKER 07 :
And it’s especially worse if you have to go up the mountain.
SPEAKER 03 :
Absolutely.
SPEAKER 07 :
Why? Because you’re revving it harder.
SPEAKER 03 :
And there’s less air to move through the radiator itself. Keep in mind, as you go up. Right. Thinner air. Thinner air. So there’s not as much to move through.
SPEAKER 07 :
Okay.

Exactly. Good to know. You’re on target. Absolutely. All right. Yesterday’s impossible question of the day. What were the names or what are the names of Kim Kardashian and Yay West kids? Charlie got one right. North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm. Those are the names of his kids.

Okay, honestly, I hate it when these stars give their kids stupid names.

Chicago. Hey, Chicago, get over here.

It’s idiotic. Really, it is. You’re naming your kid Chicago or North or Saint or Psalm. Come on, man. Give them normal names.

And, Andy, the situation happened on Sunday, which, again, I continue to read to see if anybody has passed away from that. Thankfully, no one has. There’s some folks that will definitely have. A different life moving forward because of their injuries and so on, which I talked about some of that yesterday. Right. And this particular gentleman will be charged with attempted murder and things along those lines, as he should be, by the way. And the reality is I said this yesterday. I know you agree with me. The reality is every lefty. Every news organization outside of those that are on the conservative side like us. But the majority of individuals that are on the other side of the aisle have blood on their hands in regards to this because they have created this. They have. Literally.

Because they have to understand this, John. Their audience, the left, is full of dangerous people. The left is dangerous. It is incredibly violent. The left is not like the right. I did a long post. I won’t read it. But I broke down, you know, look, all of the violence that happens on the left is so extreme. There is so much of it. Forget about the political violence. Just look at Chicago and Baltimore every weekend. They’re shot up every weekend. That’s right. John, there are quite a few young Republicans in America, as you know. Trump did very well with young people. How many of them are shooting up Chicago and Baltimore?

Zero. Okay. This is all the left shooting up downtown Denver, shooting up downtown Phoenix, shooting up everywhere. It is all the left that sides with the jihadists who preach world jihad, worldwide jihad. It is all the left that is preaching virtually all the killing that’s going on out there. And meanwhile, we spent four years with Joe Biden telling us white supremacy was the big concern and MAGA. How many people does MAGA kill?

Last I checked, none.

None. You know, that we know of. I mean, the one supposedly violent event for MAGA was January 6th. The only person who was shot on January 6th was an unarmed Trump supporter. Right. And she was executed by a cop. And yes, I put it that way. Because, I’m sorry, you know, look, until she presents a mortal threat, you’re not supposed to put her down. Okay, and she wasn’t. But anyway, setting all that aside. Right, you’re right. But here’s the thing. Both sides rile up their base. We both do it. We rile up our base. They rile up their base. We get people angry on our side. They get people angry on their side. Here’s the big difference. People on their side do not put life and liberty at the top of their list of priorities.

They put their agendas over life and liberty. People on our side have life and liberty as their top agenda. And so when we get angry, the odds that we are going to violate other people’s life and liberty are dramatically lower. But when they get angry, they’ll put any agenda over it. They will burn your Tesla. They will burn your business. They will shoot you. They will kill you. They will attempt to assassinate your president or your presidential candidate. They will shoot Republicans on a baseball field. They will assault Rand Paul. You see what I’m saying here? They will shoot up every city. You’ll have to board up whole cities every time they don’t like a verdict. It is not the same. You people on the left, when you rile up your side, you are riling up a dangerous group of people. You cannot rile up your side. You can’t do it. Your people are too dangerous. Sorry, your audience is too dangerous. What do you think, John?

You’re exactly right. In this particular case, the ironic thing about it is guarantee. And I don’t know everybody that was in the crowd, but I guarantee you, given the crowd, where it was located and so on, that all of those individuals, if not the majority of them, Andy, were probably not Trump supporters. That would be my number one guess on that particular crowd that was marching on Sunday in Boulder. Most likely they were supporters of Israel, not necessarily MAGA Trump supporters.

A few wackos. Yeah. BLM and Antifa number in the millions.

OK, the left. I mean, look, you’ve seen the polling and how many Democrats, what percentage of Democrats are OK with violence toward Tesla, Elon Musk and Donald Trump. Right. Yeah.

It’s majorities in many cases. John, these people are dangerous. So when I look at these Democrat newscasters, when I look at their leaders, AOC and all these people, I look at them and I say, you don’t seem to understand. Yes, you have free speech, but your free speech has great consequences because your audience is much, much, much and 20 more muches prone to violence, more prone to violence than the other side. Absolutely. We have violence on ours, too, but it’s incredibly rare. When some Christian bombs an abortion clinic, it is so unbelievably rare that Christians do any violence to an abortion clinic that the media has to multiply it a hundredfold in their coverage.

It’s so rare. on our side, or maybe he’s even loosely affiliated with our side, does something that’s just out there that isn’t correct, that’s wrong, guess who calls it out? Us. Yeah, we do. How often, Andy, does the other side call their folk out?

Okay. One of the things that I do, as you know, is messaging. And in doing messaging, I also study messaging of the left, and they’re very good at some things. And so what I was listening for were how all these people on the left were going to respond to the Boulder terror attack. And some did call it a terror attack. We’ll get to that in a moment. Right. But I’m going to list off several of these. I’m going to read their statements. And, John, I want you to tell me if you can find these words, Muslim, illegal alien.

Or illegal immigrant.

Because the person, the perpetrator was a Muslim illegal alien. Okay, listen closely. Ilhan Omar. Violence against anyone is never acceptable. We must reject hatred and harm in all its forms. Notice how she broadens it to everyone. Okay. No mention of who did it. AOC. I am horrified by last night’s horrific attack in Boulder. My heart is with the victims and our Jewish communities across the country. Anti-Semitism is on the rise here at home, and we have a moral responsibility to confront and stop it everywhere it exists. Now, for dumb people, that sounds even-handed, right? But I’m going to show you she isn’t even-handed at all. Notice she left out, once again, the identities of the person who did it. No mention of Muslim, no mention of illegal alien. Okay, let me rip through these others. Rashida Tlaib, the violent attack in Boulder is horrific. My heart goes out to all the victims and their families. Violence has no place in our communities. Jared Polis. Okay, it’s a long one. I’m going to cut to the end. Several individuals were brutally attacked while peacefully drawing attention to the plight of hostages who have been held by Hamas terrorists in Gaza for 604 days. Hate is unacceptable in our Colorado for all, and I condemn this act of terror. The suspect should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Okay, last one. Phil Weiser, who may well be our next governor. Uh-huh. Okay, did you hear Muslim or illegal alien in any of those statements? No. Okay, now… Now, Democrats generalize the problem with hate, violence, anti-Semitic terror, but they won’t name the attacker’s group. All right. Meanwhile, Democrats have no problem directly labeling one group. Right. White supremacists. Right. Okay. Absolutely. Joe Biden, white supremacy is the single most dangerous terrorist threat in our homeland. So if this person who committed this was a white supremacist doing it to black people, would they be saying we must be against hatred and harm in all its forms? Or would they be saying this is the blight of white supremacy?

They would say, this is white supremacy doing this. AOC, while criticizing Chuck Schumer. Your weakness will help build a monument to white supremacy. Phil Weiser, we just talked about him, talking about Charlottesville. Today we must call out all evil when it emerges, condemning white supremacy and hate before they have a chance to take root. Oh, so one group, white supremacists, which by the way, there are virtually none of them. They’re in a barn somewhere, a few crazies in a barn. That group, if that group were to be the perpetrator in this, it would be all they would talk about. Remember Oklahoma City?

And by the way, the guys who did Oklahoma City, actually their political leanings were very mixed. Right. Okay. But all we heard is that this is what we must stop. It’s these militia groups, these white racists and so forth. Right. Everything we heard for five years, BLM came from one white cop, right?

And all we heard was we must stop the white people from doing this, white doing that, white doing this, white doing that. In all these statements that I just read, and there are dozens more, and I’ll end with this. You never hear Muslim illegal alien. You never hear them label the groups of the man who actually did this. Do you see the difference?

And really quick, too, some of you may not have seen this today. The other family members of this particular gentleman, and I won’t use names because I don’t want to give them any glory whatsoever, Andy, but they’ve been deported. Yeah. Good. I think there’s five family members that the wife and kids have been deported.

These aren’t centrist at all. Jared Polis is the reason people like this, we are pulling teeth to get these people out of our country. Because all you’ve got to do is work with ICE. Okay, yesterday, Andy, I was talking about – I had a particular guest we interviewed talking about Elon Musk and his most likely disappointment, discouragement even, and how slow the wheels of change, progress in Washington, D.C., and all of that, which – I can fully understand his disappointment. I get that. And do I always agree with Elon on everything? No. Those of you that listen to me for any length of time would know that there’s a lot of things that Elon and I would disagree upon. And in some cases – by the way, I think what Elon did in Washington is fabulous. A lot of that work is going to continue on. I think he should be very admired, A, for what he did, the time he took to do it, the sacrifices he made, the money sacrifices even that he made in doing so. And if I were to have a conversation one-on-one with Elon, I would say, Elon, hey, guess what? You started a movement and you started some things that will most likely carry on for some time forward. So don’t be so discouraged. You have started some things that will get some traction and move forward. And no, unfortunately, the corruption in Washington, D.C. is so deep that that no, we can’t go in and do everything that you and I both would love to see done. I would love to see everything he wants done, done. The reality is I know that, Andy, that’s just not feasibly possible right now until other changes are made in Washington, D.C.

Absolutely. And let me say two quick things. First of all, I almost wish the Republican Party were the Catholic Church because he needs to be made a saint. for what he has done.

I agree. He’s done very well.

It is absolutely spectacular what he’s done. But number two, like you said, the corruption in Washington, let me extend that further. The reason we have that corruption in Washington is because of the corruption in America. Those people were put there by voters and Elon is wonderful at running his company, running his area. In his world, he is God. He is king. And he can always make everything move instantly and so forth. Why? He doesn’t have to worry about a Republican who is in a purple district, a Republican congressman in a purple district who barely won in New York and needs to hold that seat or Trump will lose his entire agenda. And here’s my message.

There’s no worries there for him on that level because he doesn’t play in the same world.

Right. Here’s my message, not only to Elon, but to Rand Paul, who’s also not being realistic at all, to who’s that idiot in the House who always votes against us? Massey. Thomas Massey. Please, someone, get him out. Please vote him out of there. Because they don’t seem to understand. And let me lay it out for people who don’t get this. Why can’t we get it the way we want? OK, folks, I guarantee you there are 12 to 15 Republicans in the House and it’s probably more like 20 to 30. OK, it could be as high as 30 who are in very competitive districts.

Yeah, I’d say that’s probably right. OK, 25, maybe more even. But yeah, you’re right. But certainly 20 to 30 at least. Yeah. And let’s just go on the low side and say it’s 20.

Well, let’s say all 20 of those vote in a way that don’t get them reelected, Andy.

Now where are we at? Let’s say they vote in a way that Elon would like. And you and I would like, by the way. And that you and I would like.

We would love that.

Because you and I agree with Elon on everything he put through.

Yeah, I think the big beautiful bill is bloated as well. I’d like to see all sorts of cuts. I’d like to see Social Security revamped. There’s all sorts of things, Andy, I’d like to see done. It’s not going to happen.

Yes. I would like to see Obamacare gone tomorrow.
SPEAKER 03 :
Me too. There’s a lot of things that we do in D.C. I’d like to see changed.
SPEAKER 07 :
Right. And the thing is that, bottom line, folks, if they voted the way we wanted, if they put through a package the way we wanted, and all these New York congressmen, and not just New York.

Oh, there’s other places.
SPEAKER 07 :
We have people in purple districts. We’ve got one in the 8th here.
SPEAKER 03 :
Right. I was going to say, we have our own in Colorado. Yes.
SPEAKER 07 :
And the third. The third and the eighth are very competitive. If all these congressmen who are in these very tough districts had to go back, here’s what the Democrats would do. They would run a good, well-funded moderate in each one of those and beat us in every single one of them in 2026. What does that mean? Starting in 2026, Trump has no Congress. He has no agenda. He’s done. The only way we can move forward is to first take the wins that we can get in a way that helps preserve those seats.
SPEAKER 03 :
I agree. And that’s the way the machine works, Andy.
SPEAKER 07 :
Rand Paul, love you, man. Love you. Financially, I am Rand Paul. I am him. I might even get the hair, okay? I am Rand Paul all the way.

I agree with him 100%. I’ll go even one step further, Andy. You and I are probably more… fiscally conservative, and people would say, is that even possible? Yes, it is. You and I are probably more fiscally responsible because we’ve never been in Washington to even hear some of the things that he’s listening to. You and I, because we’re fresh, are probably more to the right fiscally than even he is. It’s possible. But we can’t have what we want.
SPEAKER 07 :
No. We understand, look, we have to take what we can get. And people say, why do we have to settle? The Democrats never settle. Yeah, they do, actually. The Democrats have had to settle a lot. And when they overreach and do things like defund the cops, they get killed. Okay? They get slaughtered in the next election. It really hurts them. The Democrats understand, too, that they can’t run people who do everything they want in every district.
SPEAKER 05 :
Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER 07 :
You know, the Democrats are all upset about John Fetterman. I guarantee you he’s going to be their candidate next time around, and he’s going to win, even though he leans right on a lot of things.

That’s right, and they don’t like him at all.

Yeah, this is why the Democrats kept Joe Manchin in West Virginia all those years. The Republicans would have thrown out their equivalent of him.

And the thing about Fetterman, for example, is, yes, you’re right, he will get reelected, and here’s why.

He knows his constituents well. That’s the difference, Andy.

There you go. Good example. Really quick, I want to go back to some of you that think, well, we ought to be able to get it our way. I always want to ask those people, Andy, because a lot of those people typically are either married or in their relationship or they’ve raised kids or something of that nature. And the first question I would like to ask them is, so you get everything you want in your marriage? I mean, you never have to compromise anything with your girlfriend, your spouse, your husband. You never have to sit down and compromise and not get everything you want. So you’re one of those that you are a total dictator narcissist in your home, and you always get what you want.

Yeah, guys, you never have to watch a chick flick? Really? Yeah. You never had to watch while you were sleeping when you wanted to watch Con Air.

Andy, if you’ve got kids, you never have to give up something you want to purchase because the needs of the family go before your own needs. In other words, you might buy something for Mother’s Day, meaning you don’t get what you wanted to put in your golf bag because you had to buy your wife, your mother of your children, something for Mother’s Day. Guys, I keep going down the list. All of you demand all of these people go to Washington and get exactly what you want, but yet you’re not doing it in your own life.

No. And here in your own life, you are together with somebody who you chose for life. I got news for you. The majority of voters are not that person. That’s right. And the voters… Look, my biggest thing right now is obviously the write-off for state and local taxes.
SPEAKER 03 :
Salt. The salt.

Okay.
SPEAKER 03 :
Because we in Colorado are funding somebody who lives in New York or New Jersey. Right.
SPEAKER 07 :
And I don’t believe it’ll stay at 40%. I think the Senate will chop it down to $30,000 or $20,000 instead of $40,000. Okay, but it was at $10,000, the salt write-off. And there are some people who don’t know what this means. I won’t go into it. Here’s the bottom line. I’m just talking about compromise here. In New York… The majority, if you are a Republican congressman who just barely made it in, okay, in 2022 or whatever, in New York.
SPEAKER 03 :
And you vote against that, you’re done, Andy.
SPEAKER 07 :
And you vote against that, you’re done. But here’s why, John. It’s not because you’re bad. It’s not because Washington’s corrupt. It’s because a majority, a solid majority of the voters in your district want to rob Americans. They want to rob Americans. They look at Americans and they say, I want to be able to write. I know that we have much higher taxes here in New York. I want to be able to write those off my federal taxes all the way up to $40,000.
SPEAKER 03 :
It’s all the state and local taxes, meaning they get the ability to take those deductions on their tax returns when most everybody else still can, but they don’t have as high of deductions as what these folks would have.
SPEAKER 07 :
Yeah, Alabama’s taxes are nothing compared to New York’s. Right, which means that people in both states can write off their state taxes on their federal.
SPEAKER 03 :
But the people in New York and New Jersey get a much bigger bang for their buck.
SPEAKER 07 :
In California, those places can run, they can tax their people into the ground, and they’re having the rest of America help pay for it.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah, the rest of the world, the rest of the country is subsidizing it. Okay. Yes.
SPEAKER 07 :
Guys, I got news for you. You’re Elon Musk, or you’re Rand Paul, or you’re me or you. You’re a Davidian here in Colorado who thinks that we should be able to get everything right now at once. Okay. Newsflash. If only. That congresswoman or congressman in New York is gone. If they do not help, their people rob you. And I know you don’t like the way that sounds.

It’s the truth. It’s truth. It’s the truth, Andy.

Their voters, and I’m telling you, I’ll bet it is 70 to 80 percent of the voters in their district, want to rob you.

And they’re happy about it. It’s a great way of saying it. Okay. It’s exactly what it is.

And here you want them to be a purist. You want them to be Rand Paul there in Brooklyn. Okay. Their voters want to rob you. Or in Southern California. We’re hoping to gain a couple seats. We’ll go to break here in a moment. We’re hoping to gain a couple seats in Southern California because of the fires coming up, right? There’s a good chance we’re going to gain a couple House seats in 26 because of the Democrats handling of the fires in Southern California. Forget that. if we don’t get a good deal like the big beautiful bill.

My whole point with a lot of you that are listening that are on the far right, and I always hate to use that term, Andy, because you and I are as well, but you and I are on the far right, but strategically in that world, knowing that there are certain things that we have to do if we’re going to try to win. We have strategy when the reality is a lot of folks on the far right have no strategy. It’s all or nothing. They’re never willing to give in on anything, and if they do… It’s on things that won’t matter at the end of the day. And as I said a moment ago, yet these are the same very people that will tell you that, oh, well, when you’re married, sure, you have to have compromise or you won’t stay married. Right. They’re willing to compromise in those areas, and they’ll compromise even, Andy, if they’re somebody that’s a boss at work and their employees and jobs and so on. I mean, there’s all sorts of things they’re compromising on, and yet they don’t allow their own local politician to do that.
SPEAKER 07 :
John, if you weren’t married, would you ever watch while you were sleeping The Wedding Planner? Probably not. Pretty Woman.
SPEAKER 03 :
That one, maybe. That’s a good one. That’s a good movie, but… Maybe. That’s a maybe. That’s a different one.

Okay. But you are married, so you’re going to watch them all. Probably tonight. All at once.

When you’re married, you do all sorts of things that are… When you have families, when you’re a dad, especially in Father’s Day is coming up, and dads don’t get enough credit for this, but there’s a lot of things. Not all dads. I know there’s some very… mean-spirited, narcissistic jerk of men, and these are not the guys I’m talking about. Good dads and good husbands understand that, you know what, I’m going to have to give some things up if I’m going to meet all the needs of my family. I’m not going to be able to have that sports car that I always wanted. I might have to wait until all the kids are grown and out of college and everything else before I can actually have that car I’ve always wanted. Get where I’m going with that, Andy? Oh, absolutely. And there’s a lot of men that do that, Andy.

I have to have a car that works for the family.

The family, not for me personally.

Right. I want a sports car or I want a big truck.

There’s a lot of men out there. I don’t want a van. There’s a lot of men and women that are on that far, that Davidian side of the aisle, if you would, Andy, that are listening to me right now that have done those very things. And I commend them for doing the very things I’m talking about. Yet when it comes to politics, they won’t.

John, I want to talk a little bit about the big schism in Republican politics here in Colorado and how this goes back into getting everything you want. Really quick, you know there are two sides, right? You’ve got the mushy moderates.
SPEAKER 03 :
Which I don’t like either.
SPEAKER 07 :
No, I don’t either. And you’ve got the Davidians, really. That’s what they are nowadays in Colorado.
SPEAKER 03 :
The best way to call it, yes.
SPEAKER 07 :
Yeah, the ones who… Everything we want right now, and if we don’t get that, these are the ones who want to run Ron Hanks in purple districts. Okay? When there’s absolutely no chance… I have the same problem with both sides. You know what it is? What? They ignore the market.
SPEAKER 03 :
Oh, that’s true.
SPEAKER 07 :
Okay. And so every two years, here’s what happens. You know, an election cycle is two years. And for every two years, for the first 20 months, neither of those two groups win voters. True. To conservatism. True. And then in the last four to six months, four months, those groups attack each other about how to reach the market they have not influenced. They attack each other about how to reach the market. They have not won. Right. Okay. And so one side says, oh, my gosh, the market is so blue. It’s so blue. We must compromise, compromise, compromise, compromise. And the other side says, well, now that’s all pale pastels. And if you are not clear about your conservative virtues, why would they vote for you over the left? And then they get into this big thing. And both of them have a little bit of a point, but both of them are wrong because you just spent 20 months not winning anyone. You’re not winning anyone. They’re putting the cart ahead of the horse. They want the wins, but they don’t want to earn them. It’s like political welfare. They spend 20 months not winning anybody over to their side. And what do I mean? Well, where do you meet people? You know, most of it’s online right now. Okay, are you convincing people online? Are you doing like Jersey Joe? Are you convincing people online to move our way? I’ve done it. You’ve done it. Joe has done it. You’ve got to win people over to our side. You’ve got to win more voters. Why? You’ve got to affect that market. Otherwise, you can’t go into that market and say, we’re going to run Ron Hanks in CD3. Ron Hanks would have gotten clobbered. He was so bad, the Democrat was running ads to help Ron Hanks in our primary. He was so awful. That’s who the Davidians wanted, okay? I know. I just don’t understand, John, how these people can think that we can basically ask for it all. We ask for the moon. They put out the Liberty scorecard. If you don’t score high in the Liberty scorecard, you are a bad Republican. You’re a rhino. Really? Anyone who would score high in that scorecard would lose in every purple district in the state. And a number of those Republicans who are left are in purple districts. What do they do? Am I making any sense here? You’re making total sense. I’ve had it. I’ve had it with both sides.

I have.
SPEAKER 07 :
And I’m not just going at the Davidians here. I’m also going at the moderates here, too.
SPEAKER 03 :
It goes both ways.
SPEAKER 07 :
Yeah. You guys come at us every two years and say, oh, we’ve got to take it easy. We’ve got to go easy on this, go easy on that. We’ve got to accommodate, accommodate, compromise, compromise. You know what? I get it because we’re in the last four months, and that’s where the market is. But my question is, what were you doing the previous 20 months to win any one?
SPEAKER 03 :
Well, I told Andy this during the break. I would really love some way, somehow, I know this is a pipe dream on my part, but I would love to get 10, 15 of the core of the Davidians together, sit in a room, agree that nobody’s going to yell, nobody’s going to get their feelings hurt, nobody’s going to scream. We’re just going to have a nice, friendly conversation about how do we move the needle forward in Colorado together. And how do we win and lay things out on the table? Because I really would like to know what the mentality is as to your strategy to winning. And by the way, you can’t come to the meeting and just say, we’ve got to stand on our principles and that’ll get us to win. No, folks, it won’t.
SPEAKER 07 :
Let me ask you a question, Mr. Business Consultant. Why is our party so blind to the market? They really believe. Look, Trump sells in some places great. He sells in the Midwest. Awesome. Trump doesn’t sell here in Colorado. He sells with me. Okay. And there are elements of what he’s doing that will help us in Colorado. I think his trade deals are going to help us. I think actually his work on immigration is going to help us. But other things don’t.
SPEAKER 03 :
To answer your question, why do they not see it?
SPEAKER 07 :
They think that if we just preach MAGA, MAGA, MAGA, Colorado will turn around and run to us.
SPEAKER 03 :
Andy, I’m convinced. I don’t know this for a fact. But I would be. I would be led to believe that the majority of these individuals run in the same circles, don’t get out of that circle very much. In other words, they hang around the same people, they go to the same meetings, they go to the same churches, they go to the same areas, they hang out at the same whatever. In other words, they don’t get out of their little square box very that often to really see what is the real makeup of Colorado. They’re not as in tune, not saying you and I are totally in tune, but I think we pretty much are because of what we do at times, and I think we have a lot better understanding of who’s out there, what are the thought processes among a lot of Coloradans, not just our side of the aisle, and then how do you strategize around that to where you can bring some of those folks onto our side onto our platform or into our platform, I should say. And I just think in a lot of cases, Andy, these are individuals that are very either A, blinded, or they just wear such rose-colored glasses. They have no idea what’s really going on around them.

I think you’re right. I mean, these are the people who, after Roe v. Wade was overturned, what did I say when that happened? I said, this is going to be a boon for the Democrats. And it was. They slaughtered us in election after election or initiative after initiative that was dealing with abortion. It was phenomenal for them. Why? Because our side doesn’t understand the market. We wanted to push through what we wanted, and I totally agree with it.
SPEAKER 03 :
I don’t want the unborn killed.

I’m not disagreeing with that. But we didn’t want to do the hard work of first winning the market. We just want to impose our will.

Yeah, and that doesn’t work out very well typically.
