I am so tired of going away and coming back to sheer insanity. I was off yesterday. Thanks to Joey for filling in. I was flying back from Seattle to Tampa. It’s not real easy to get from Seattle to Tampa for some reason, although thanks to Alaska Airlines, there is one nonstop, which is great. I just had to go during the day. It takes forever because you could lose the time, the three hours and all that stuff. I come back to work and I try to make sense out of the insane. It’s insane to say gun control would have prevented what happened in New York. We know it’s insane because of what the mayor of New York has suggested, that early investigations suggest that the gunman got parts for the weapon purchased by somebody else. What law is going to prevent that from happening? So I come back to that insanity. Then I come back to Sidney Sweeney. I admit I don’t know Sidney Sweeney. She’s an actress of some renown. She’s a beautiful young woman. Beautiful woman. I’m old enough to remember when beautiful people were models. I guess that’s a bad thing now? That’s Nazism, apparently. Now, evidently, if you’re beautiful and white, you can’t be in a jeans commercial. I have absolutely no idea what the controversy is. I asked Mark Davis this morning in Dallas, and Mark said, well, it’s because she’s white and she’s not obese. I said, Mark, there’s no way… There’s controversy because she’s white and not obese. What are you talking about? He says, that’s what it is. They’re calling it Nazi propaganda. What’s Nazi propaganda? Well, she’s white and she’s got blue eyes. What does that mean? I mean, and the reaction is real. You know, you’ve probably heard it by now. Here’s the ad itself. I have absolutely – I mean, let me – and admittedly, I’ve been traveling. I’m a little bleary-eyed. A lot of work this week. We had a magnificent visit to Relief Factor on Monday. I hated, only because I knew it got back to her because it made it to People Magazine and TMZ and all that. It was awful. It was awful. So I’m very sensitive to talking about anybody’s appearance because I don’t want Joe Concha to get offended again, of all people. Yeah, that Joe Concha. But the two people you just heard from, the TikToker who is mocking a beautiful, blonde, thin woman. Let me just put this delicately. She is definitely, that TikToker, if you’re watching on Salem News Channel, you know, you can confirm what I’m saying. Let’s just put it this way. She’s not a… blonde-haired, blue-eyed, thin model. The Pilates instructor, not likely that she would be considered a traditional model. Let’s put it that way. But then again, in this goofy world of the left, I guess the more unattractive you are, the better your chances of becoming a runway model. It really is as if Sidney Sweeney’s beauty is considered now, to leftists, Nazi propaganda. And I will say this again. I know I’m not handsome. I know I’m no Tom Cruise. Oh, you don’t say. So his trade policies are making our economy better? Hmm. Hmm. The country’s GDP increased at an annual rate of 3% in the second quarter, the Commerce Department just announced. That’s higher than the 2% pace the GDP was forecast to grow, according to economists polled by the financial data firm FactSet. I love this. Don’t you love it when the mainstream media, I told Tracy, I said, you know, when I get a conservative outlet like Town Hall or Red State, there’s a lot of great sites that kind of talk to us and don’t. you know, have the left-leaning bias. But don’t you love it when even a place like CBS has to write, and I quote, the number represents a surprising turnaround from the first three months of 2025. Well, thankfully, you know better. Thankfully, you know that while the mainstream media is hyperventilating over Epstein, there’s a little small, little insignificant things happening like, oh, I don’t know, the GDP soaring, past experts’ expectations, the economy working. Tariffs working. Nothing but good, a lot of good news. The border is secure. We’re respecting law and order again. And the difference between our side and theirs? is that we don’t hate the country. But Scott made an appearance yesterday and said something that was so profound. that I had to share this with you. I mean, the guy was obviously mentally ill. goes strolling in with a long gun and slaughters four innocent people. Now, this may not surprise you. It should. It ought to shock you. It ought to sicken you. But this beautiful young woman who happened to be a senior executive at Blackstone, her murder was celebrated. Before this awful thing happened, somebody posted on social media a comment that said, I just saw an NYPD officer crying in his car. You know what Zoran Mamdani’s response was? And I confirmed it. This was from his own Twitter account. Nature is healing. Mamdani loathes police. He hates cops. And police officers are the only thing that stands between the monsters who would commit horrible acts of violence and their victims. And Mamdani would happily remove that protection. The guy’s a creep. The guy’s a foaming at the mouth, rabid socialist kook. And if New Yorkers are stupid enough to elect him, they’re going to deserve everything. And I do mean everything they get. That’s where I am right now. My heart breaks for the thousands of NYPD officers who are terrified at the prospect of this rabid, radical lunatic being elected mayor. Businesses are terrified. It has kind of a Gary Puckett and the Union Gap kind of thing going on there. Mamas and the Papas? Exactly. If I tell you that it’s a group called The Hassle, does that mean anything to you? Not a thing. Doesn’t ring any bells. That means that there’s something you have not watched yet. Okay. Okay. Know who this is on the vocal? No, I don’t. Maybe. That is roughly 20-year-old Billy Joel in the band that he put together. Yep, he was in a couple of bands. The Hassles was first. Then he and his drummer buddy performed a heavy metal hard rock duo called Attila, like The Hun. And they were dressed in fur and hanging around in a… freezer with meat. And they were a horrible band by his own admission. And then he found his own voice, found his own career. This Billy Joel documentary, this two-part thing, or it’s two parts, two hours, each on HBO called And So It Goes. Yep, I’ve seen that. Well, then you would have known that. What? Then you would have known.

And then he just kind of got too big and there’s lots of drinking and she had to go. And I guess he’s about to meet Christie Brinkley at the beginning of part two. So that’s where things get interesting. But I can’t say enough good things about the Billy Joel. And so it goes documentary really other than Lennon and McCartney. I don’t know a songwriter. I mean, I know James Taylor, Carole King, blah, blah, blah. But I don’t know a songwriter that’s meant more to me or been more prolific. It’s an amazing story.

Me too. And that’s why it’s such a great documentary. And incidentally, you skip past the part that Billy Joel slept with his best friend’s wife.

But back to sleeping with the best friend’s wife and stealing the wife from his best friend of many years. But Billy Joel really owns that. I was really impressed by his humility and just how, you know, I was a louse, you know. Contrition. It was a terrible thing. Genuine guilt. Yeah. Getting boss over it. It’s quite a story and quite a journey, so I’m glad you finally saw it because I loved every bit of it.

Speaking of journeys, give me 60 seconds on Seattle. I’ve never been. I know, does the sun ever shine? I know it’s great to be there in the summer because it’s not a million degrees, so tell me about it.

I didn’t say he can’t win. I said I was skeptical that maybe if there was reasonable candidacies of just sort of mainstream Democrats like Eric Adams and even Andrew Cuomo. Or Curtis Lewa. A Republican option. Listen, you’re not going to hear me say that the horrible shooting is great for Curtis’s campaign, but maybe it’s an eye-opener where people can realize the ill-wisdom of electing somebody who hates the police and who hates guns.

As we mourn an NYPD officer who was working off duty and was killed. In fact, it was reported that his father was so stricken by the news of the death of his son that he had a stroke. The father had to be taken to the hospital. Lives are shattered. Families are ruined. Four people. And P.S., just a quick aside. Have you seen the leftists celebrating the murder of the Black Rock executive? It’s Mangione stuff, but now it’s like this is Luigi 2.0. I mean, after all, Black Rock. And this guy had nothing to do with Black Rock. It’s Black Stone. I’m sorry, Rock and Stone. Blackstone. Blackstone had nothing to do with what he was doing. He got off on the wrong floor. He was targeting the NFL. He was targeting the NFL because he apparently thought he had CTE from high school. What the heck’s the NFL got to do with it? He’s mentally ill, obviously. And here we go with the gun control crap. Eric Adams himself confirmed that somebody he knew evidently bought the gun for him. Mm-hmm. All right, well, riddle me this, Jessica Tarloff, since you’re making gun control an issue out of this. What gun law is going to prevent somebody who’s able to legally purchase a firearm and give it to the guy who shouldn’t have a firearm? It’s what I said after Sandy Hook. You know, they all kept saying over and over again after Connecticut that terrible massacre of all those beautiful little kids and those teachers. Gun control, gun control. What law are you going to enact that’s going to stop a deranged kid, a son, from murdering his mother, stealing her gun out of the gun safe, and going to Sandy Hook and massacring all those kids? I mean, I’m not saying that to be provocative. What law do you think would have done that? There is no law to do that other than total confiscation. Which is where they’re headed. Well, that’s what they want. That’s what they would love. They would love to see. Look, I saw Jessica Tarloff make that argument on The Five yesterday. She said, point blank, when we had the assault weapons ban, the shootings were decreased. She always takes numbers and cherry-picks polls. By the way, did you see Trump blast her the other day? Jessica personally? Yes.

On Truth Social. He was pretty scientific. He said, I can’t stand that Jessica Tarloff. He posted that on Truth Social. I mean, it’s like, oh, gosh. But look, it’s a product. Back to Mamdani, which is what made me think of this whole rant about guns and this terrible shooting in New York. Mm-hmm. One of his past social media posts was unearthed after this shooting. So we’ve got an NYPD officer. We have another security guard who was cowering behind a desk who got murdered. Two other people killed. One of Mamdami’s tweets said, somebody had posted, I just saw an NYPD officer crying in his car and with a smiley face emoji. You know what Mamdami himself responded with? Nature is healing. This guy loathes the police. In fact, it was revealed that the special elite unit that responded to this shooting on Park Avenue, he wants to disband. He wants to get rid. There will be such a mass exodus of NYPD cops if this guy wins. He’s going to turn it into the actual Gotham. From the right from Batman, it’s going to be Gotham. And it’s going to be a disaster. And guess what? If New Yorkers are stupid enough to vote for this guy, they deserve everything they get, Mark.

Why do I want to believe? Why do I want to believe that they’re not? And I’m not going to sit here in July and talk about a November election and predict that Mamdani will lose because it looks like a… a steep hill for either Eric Adams or Curtis Lee with a Republican or Andrew Cuomo. But I’ll believe it when I see it. And I guess if I see it, I see it. And I’ll be sad and I’ll cry for America’s biggest and one of our greatest cities. But I somehow I’m going to cleave to some hope. That New Yorkers will, I don’t expect Curtis to win, that a reasonable Democrat. He could. I would love that. It’s not like it’s never happened before. Rudy Giuliani, Michael Bloomberg. But I’m going to pray for and hope for that great city to come to its senses and that maybe this tragedy has opened some eyes about the ill wisdom of electing somebody with views as poisonous as Mom Dunn.

Well, to answer your question, why do you think this way? Because you are using EarthLogic. And EarthLogic tells anyone that there’s no way New Yorkers, no matter how exciting they are about his funny TikTok, his cute TikTok videos, and how appealing he may be, they’ve got to look at policy. They’ve got to look at what he will do to a city that is already wracked. with homelessness, with crime, with a quality of life that is terrible.

What? So free buses and subways paid for by whom?
