In this compelling episode of The Mike Gallagher Show, listeners are taken on a heartfelt journey from the personal to the spiritual. The show kicks off with reflective insights from the host, who has spent emotional days in South Carolina, where he shares memories of significant spiritual gatherings and unpackages the impactful sermon about wisdom and spiritual battles in America. While tensions rise and emotions run high, the tribute to the late Charlie Kirk wouldn’t be the same without heartfelt anecdotes from attendees, highlighting the spiritual revival sweeping through the nation. Throughout the episode, the transformative power of faith
SPEAKER 02 :
From the wild world of D.C. politics to America’s culture clash, brace yourself for the reality check you’ve been waiting for. The one and only Mike Gallagher Show.
SPEAKER 06 :
I am so glad that I’ve been able to spend the last few days in South Carolina. I talk a lot about South Carolina. I share my story of meeting my wife here and raising our kids here. Went to church yesterday at Fellowship Greenville, which is one of my favorite churches in America. The pastor was teary-eyed. The congregants were teary-eyed. They focused on the spiritual battle that America is undergoing right now. It was beautifully done. It was tastefully presented. The sermon was about the wisdom of Solomon. And a lot of people would acknowledge that Charlie Kirk was wise beyond his years. And the pastor’s message was just a powerful reflection of the way America is grieving. I want to remind you that it’s important to cast away and to reject evil from your life. I know how brutal social media is right now. I understand how difficult it is to see teachers and mental health professionals, airline pilots, secret service agents, business professionals, college professors. I mean, here in South Carolina, there’s a gigantic drama about a number of staffers at Clemson University who have said unthinkable things about Charlie Kirk’s death. And thus far, Clemson has not terminated these professors from employment. And people are outraged. The Board of Trustees is meeting today in a big emergency session. The college president has been strangely quiet. There’s a lot of drama all over the country. Try to ignore the ugly stuff if you can. Think about the spiritual revival that is absolutely happening right now. Charlie was killed because of his faith. I’m convinced of this. I’ve been thinking a lot about it this weekend. I’ve been praying for Charlie’s wife and family. his mom and dad, his little children. Charlie was killed because he was the rare pundit who was willing to take his message to college campuses to debate, to try to persuade, but also to share his love of Jesus Christ with anybody who would listen. Charlie talked about his faith all the time. Which, of course, makes the Clemson professors and the airline pilot and the Secret Service agent and the haters so much more hard to understand. I wonder how many people who openly gloated and celebrated Charlie’s murder think they’re the good guys. Think they’re on the side of righteousness. Maybe even go to church. Now, frankly, I kind of doubt it. Because I think a lot of people who have been so ugly are broken and empty and lost. And maybe it’s because they have zero faith. They have zero belief in our Savior. They don’t believe in God. I don’t know. But what I do know is, sitting at that church yesterday, a packed church filled with a lot of young people. And the church service yesterday came after an event that I was the speaker at, hosted by the 4th Congressional District Club of South Carolina. And a guy by the name of Nate Loip, who’s the head of that organization, along with the radio station here, 98.9 WORD, and Joey and Peg Hudson opening up their home. And hundreds of people came out, and there were political people there. Congressman Ralph Norman was there, and Lieutenant Governor Pamela Evatt was there. She’s running for governor. One of the Lindsey Graham challengers was there. And then I spoke, and… You know, I have a very special relationship with this community. I’ve been on the air here continuously for 36 years, pretty much. A little bit of an interruption when there was a station switch about a year and a half ago, but I’m back on the station where it began, where my career began nearly 40 years ago. And at the end of the night last Saturday night, Nate Loip and the 4th Congressional district club presented me with what they called the first annual charlie kirk freedom award and i’m holding it now if you’re watching on salem news channel this beautiful beautiful eagle presented to me believe me i’m not deserving of this but i will treasure this for the rest of my life i will cradle this on the plane home later today as i fly back to florida because this is an award that I will never forget. And again, I am not deserving of anything. One of our executives called and said, oh, we want to send that out and share that you’re the recipient of the first annual Charlie Kirk Freedom Award presented by the 4th Congressional District Club of South Carolina. I said, no, no, no, no, no. Don’t put that in the trades. I’m not worthy of that. I’m not deserving of that. But I will honor this for the rest of my life. And I wanted to share this with you here if you’re watching on Salem News Channel because it’s something that is probably the most significant and meaningful acknowledgement that I’ve ever gotten. So thank you to Nate Loip and all the great people who helped make that a reality. Wow. And speaking of Salem News Channel, today at 12 noon, Vice President J.D. Vance is going to guest host the Charlie Kirk Show. on Salem Media. We’ve never had anything like this happen before. This, of course, is a testament to the deep friendship that Charlie had with the vice president. of course, with President Trump. So today at 12 noon, Vice President J.D. Vance will be hosting the Charlie Kirk Show, 12 noon Eastern Time, Salem Media, the Salem Radio Network, and the Salem News Channel. So that will be extraordinary. And again, we are in uncharted waters right now. 800-655-MIKE is our number. I hope you join us here on the Mike Gallagher Show in the Relief Factor Studios. And again, one more day here in South Carolina. And then one more note about our show. We’ll be, again, one more day in South Carolina. Later this week, we’ll be in Phoenix. Because this Sunday is the Charlie Kirk Memorial at State Farm Stadium. Over 60,000 seats. And I’ll bet you anything there won’t be an empty seat in the stadium. Vice President Trump and Vice President Vance will both be attending the memorial service. And we will, too. We’ll take you with us. We’ll be broadcasting from Phoenix on Friday, previewing the memorial service. We’re going to attend the memorial on Sunday, and then we will play highlights of the memorial service on Monday’s show from Phoenix. So I hope you can join us then. Just got a text message from South Carolina when I said that Charlie was killed for his faith. And the South Carolinian wrote, Amen. Yes, Mike, that was the first thing I said. Satan tried to silence Charlie Kirk because of his faith. I really, truly believe that that’s why he was killed. Look, all of us talk politics all the time. Charlie talks politics like all of us do regularly. But Charlie brought his love of Jesus Christ to those college kids. And I want to play for you a group of kids. This is so powerful, so meaningful. I saw this before I came on the air. This is clip 20. Let me play this for you. I don’t even know who these kids are or where it was from. But I believe this is happening all over America. Check out this group of young people. I believe they’re in a meeting room at their church. Young, smiling, happy, joyful kids with Bibles in their hands and a message in their heart.
SPEAKER 10 :
Guys, I truly believe that revival is about to break out in the young generation. Jesus is moving through the streets. He’s moving through the hearts of the young believers. And we want to share a Bible verse with you guys. Isaiah 6a says, Then I heard the voice of the Lord asking, Who will I send? Who will go for us? I said, Here I am. Send me. Guys, we need to be able to say, Here I am. Send me. Go forth to your school. Go to the cafeteria. Go to the bus. Go everywhere where you go. In the locker room. them everywhere and be the light of christ we need to be able to say send me jesus humble ourself and really be bold about our faith and tell everybody about the name of jesus the bible says that the truth will set you free and so we have the truth this is the living and acting word active word right here the gospel so don’t be afraid to share your faith we have the key to life and it’s jesus christ Amen, guys. We have the key to eternal life like what Till just said. Go be bold. Go share the gospel. Do not be ashamed of the gospel because, you know, this is the thing that sets you free. This book right here will give you peace, joy, hope, kindness, faithfulness. Fulfillment. Fulfillment. None of the things of the world will fulfill you. So let’s go tell people about Jesus. Tell all the nations. Spread the gospel to everyone.
SPEAKER 11 :
Guys, be courageous for Jesus. He died on the cross, a brutal death for you. So stand up for what you believe in and what the word says because this is eternal life. This is the truth, and this is what will set you free like Till said. So go be bold in your school this week. Go be bold in your job, and go be bold in the world. Jesus died for you, and he loves you so much.
SPEAKER 10 :
Guys, this generation is being raised up like an army for Jesus Christ, and we want to hear it in the back. Let’s go. Let’s go. Let’s go, guys. We love you so much. Love you guys.
SPEAKER 06 :
That fills me with such joy and hope and confidence that good will prevail. God will prevail. And let’s be honest. Those kids are energized by Charlie. Ignore the negativity. I’ve made a decision. I know last week we reported on the assassin of Charlie Kirk. We had to. That’s my job as a talk show host. I’m not mentioning his name ever again. That name will never escape my lips again. I don’t want to talk about him. I don’t want to talk. I don’t want to mention his name. I don’t care. He did what he did and he will live with it. What he did, the way he shattered a family and inflicted such pain upon an entire country and the world. Did you see over 3 million people in the UK marching for Charlie? Did you see… the millions in South Korea? Did you see all the football stadiums with tributes to Charlie, the flyovers, the event at Kennedy Center last night packed to the rafters? Focus on the good. Know that good will triumph over evil, but we must continue to be fearless. We must carry on Charlie’s legacy. Charlie’s widow, Erica Kirk, spoke next to her husband’s empty chair in the Turning Point radio and TV studios. And you could see the anger in her and hear the anger in her voice, the pain in her heart. She now has to raise her one- and three-year-old children on her own after her husband was taken from her. But she had a message to those who tried to silence her husband.
SPEAKER 07 :
The evildoers responsible for my husband’s assassination have no idea what they have done. They killed Charlie because he preached a message of patriotism, faith, and of God’s merciful love. They should all know this. If you thought that my husband’s mission was powerful before, you have no idea. You have no idea what you just have unleashed across this entire country and this world. You have no idea. You have no idea the fire that you have ignited within this wife.
SPEAKER 08 :
The cries of this widow will echo around the world like a battle cry.
SPEAKER 06 :
Wow. That’s a fire in her heart. And as I’ve been saying all weekend, and we had a lot of special coverage on Salem News Channel, I’ve been doing a lot of interviews and a lot of hits with different colleagues who know that, of course, Charlie and I were friends and I’ve been staring at Charlie’s text messages to me over the years and thinking about his joyful countenance. As I’ve been saying over and over again, not one building was burned after Charlie was killed. Not one business was looted. No, no, there are no fires in the streets. The fire is in our hearts, and that will burn. Did you hear the news about the interest in Turning Point USA Organizations? And chapters, where do you hear this? We’ve got a lot to do today. First and foremost is your voice, and I hope you join us. We have an open phone line, 800-655-MIKE, 800-655-6453. Welcome in to another special edition of the Mike Gallagher Show. The lead-in, if you will, to Vice President J.D. Vance, who will be hosting the Charlie Kirk Show today at noon on Salem Media. The Mike Gallagher Show.
SPEAKER 01 :
You know, usually on these stories, I definitely look at what the left is saying, and then I usually mock them on my show, and it’s somewhat cathartic. But I’m just not there at all. I just feel like they can go **** themselves. I couldn’t give two ****. About what they think of Charlie Kirk. They didn’t know him. They don’t understand any of us.
SPEAKER 02 :
In the ReliefFactor.com studios, here’s Mike.
SPEAKER 06 :
I really feel like Megyn Kelly right now. She’s right. I don’t care how… They don’t get us. They don’t understand us. They hate us because of what we believe. And yes, many of them want us dead. And I don’t even want to… I don’t want to even think about these evil, empty, broken people. I just don’t. I want to think about the kids who are going back to church. I want to think about the man in the suit. I’ve got to play this for you. You’re going to love this. Before we do that, though, let’s talk about spiritual warfare. Let’s talk about good versus evil. I’m going to pull the curtain back and share with you something that happened this morning when we all came into work. came into this studio, and weird things have been going on technically with the Mike Gallagher show today. Very weird things. First of all, here in South Carolina, Joey and I were here last night because I did an extended edition of Salem News Channel, and I was on with a couple of great guys, Ken Rosato and Jeff Vaughn and I. all hosted a tribute to Charlie yesterday afternoon, Sunday afternoon after church from 3 to 6. Joey and I were in here working, had everything turned on. We came into work today to do the show. Everything had gone off. And Joey was saying, this is weird. There must have been an outage or something here. And they have a generator here, so we don’t know why that happened. So all the equipment was off today in South Carolina. In New York, where the show is run from, Eric and Christian walked into a crap show today. And Eric, I want to bring you in here as the longtime operations manager of our show. Because I’ve never seen you as frazzled as you were today. We had, obviously, in our first hour, a lot of audio problems. Yes. And a lot of people, you know, our audience, they were texting us and they were calling. They’re saying, Mike, there’s an audio problem. We can’t hear you. We can’t hear you. Can you share? Have you ever seen a problem like that happen with our show before?
SPEAKER 13 :
I can honestly say it is one of the weirdest problems that I’ve ever encountered because none of it makes sense. It wasn’t like something got pulled out. Sometimes a plug gets pulled out and things go wrong. Or sometimes a computer malfunctions and things go wrong. Computer’s not malfunctioning. All the cables are right where they belong. Everything we tested looked right. The only way I could fix it was to get all new cables and replug everything in. And then it sort of came back. But I will tell you… Not for nothing. It’s working, but it’s still, on the inside, it’s still a little weird. Something funky is going on. It’s strange.
SPEAKER 06 :
And this has worked perfectly for five years. For years. So, Eric, I said something on the break, and the reason I wanted to bring you in here is because you said something that kind of gave me chills. I said… almost half jokingly, it’s as if spiritual, almost evil forces are trying to stop our message from going out over the airwaves. And you responded quite seriously. You said, Mike, I think that’s exactly what’s happening. I mean, again, from a technical standpoint, you’ve never seen a problem like this before.
SPEAKER 13 :
It’s just so weird. It doesn’t make any sense. It shouldn’t happen. I got the engineers on the line and there is no rational explanation. is all I’m saying. Now, maybe a couple hours from now I’ll come up with a rational explanation, but right now, I don’t. I don’t have one.
SPEAKER 06 :
I may have one, and it’s something that defies a worldly problem. Thanks, Eric. I appreciate your efforts, and you two will be joining us in Arizona later this week. You’ll be engineering our broadcast from Friday in Phoenix. We’re going to be going to Phoenix for the Charlie Kirk Memorial Service on Sunday, and We’ll be doing the show from Phoenix on Friday to preview the service, and then on Monday we’ll share highlights from the service with you on the show. So we’re taking the audience with us. We’re taking you with us. We’re packing you in our bag, and we’re taking you to Phoenix for the Charlie Kirk Memorial. Also today at 12 noon, immediately after the Mike Gallagher show, On hundreds of stations around the country and on Salem News Channel, Vice President J.D. Vance is hosting the Charlie Kirk show. The vice president made that announcement late last night. Of course, again, technically, everybody’s scrambling. There’s all kinds of shenanigans that we’ve got to come up with to make sure that all works, but it will. And you can be sure that Vice President J.D. Vance is going to have a very powerful tribute to his friend Charlie Kirk. Today at 12 noon Eastern Time, Vice President J.D. Vance hosting the Charlie Kirk Show here on Salem Media. Salem News Channel, SNC.TV, and Salem Radio Network. I’ve got to play the man with the suit. This is something that just made me smile. And it made me think about being here in South Carolina, where all the flags are at half-mast. Oh, there’s not wokeism really in the upstate of South Carolina, where church is packed with tearful but prayerful and optimistic, faithful people. Yesterday, the church service I attended, the 11 a.m. service at Fellowship Greenville, I’m so gratified that I’ve been here. where normal people hurt and yet have faith. Normal people react. And here’s a normal guy who made a video. And speaking of technical problems, check out what happens towards the end of the minute and a half or whatever long video this guy made when the camera topples over. Listen to what he said about it. It made me think of the technical things that we were facing today on the Mike Gallagher Show. Here’s the man with the brand new suit that I proudly share with you from X here on the Mike Gallagher Show.
SPEAKER 04 :
You know, I don’t come from any kind of money, and I’ve never owned a suit before. My wife, she bought me this suit. Our anniversary is coming up, and we have a nice anniversary planned, you know. We make a little bit of money now, and I’m proud to say that because that’s certainly not where either one of us comes from. And I feel good in this suit, man. And I just want my wife to know she made me feel good. It’s a $300 suit. I ain’t never had nothing like this before in my life. And I tell you what. Okay, video flip here, so I’m going to lose some of you. I didn’t know. Charlie Kirk, never met that guy before in my life. And something else that I’ve never done before in my life is believe in God. I’m going to wear this suit to church. I’m going to go to church. I’m going to try to be a better father, husband, and leader for my family. They deserve that. My phone fell down. I guess that’s the devil trying to mess me up right now. I’m going to try, y’all. Look at this suit. I look good, bro. My wife made me feel this way. Charlie’s made me feel this way. Yeah, message over.
SPEAKER 06 :
Wow, that’s the most expensive $300 suit in history. I love that guy’s message. I’m going to be a better father. I’m going to be a better husband. I’m going to go to church. I’m going to wear a suit. And yes, you may notice that I’m wearing a suit and tie today. This is kind of a funny back story. The other night, Wednesday, we’re scrambling. I got into the studio. I went on Salem News Channel at the last second. I didn’t have a tie. I got some feedback from some of the suits, the corporate suits. Mike ought to have a tie on. Honor Charlie. And, of course, right away I said, yeah, you’re right. I’m lucky that I’m even here. I’m lucky that I got a coat on, much less a shirt and tie. But it turned out that our buddy Roger P. Shulman, the newsman in Tampa Bay, in his office had a whole rack full of ties, and I quickly snagged one of his ties, and I put it around my neck, and I put it on, and I told the team, I will never do the Mike Gallagher show without a suit and tie again. So even though the feedback that I got was constructive criticism Wednesday night and the person who was asking me to put the tie on had no idea what we went through even to get on the air. And, you know, again, lucky to not show up in a sweatshirt. But it was good feedback. And it made me think I will always, from now on, wear a suit and tie here on the show. It’s a little bit like wearing an American flag lapel pin after 9-11. I always wear an American flag lapel pin anytime I’m in public because the ABC anchors, led by Peter Jennings at the time, decided to ban the American flag lapel pin from their coats on TV. Like that was somehow, well, we’re supposed to be neutral. We’re supposed to be objective. No more flag pins for ABC anchors. Well, I decided that day I’ll always wear an American flag lapel pin. So now my armor will be a shirt, a tie, a suit, and a flag pin for the rest of my career. So anyhow, there’s that. 16 minutes before the hour. And look, I’m kind of glad now that I’m going to be going through the suit, shirt, and tie phase forever. I’m glad my neck isn’t quite as fat as it used to be thanks to PhD weight loss and nutrition. Every day I get to tell you about PhD weight loss. Look, I met Dr. Ashley Lucas right here in South Carolina. It’s an amazing program. I met a guy over the weekend. He lost almost 100 pounds. 65 of it came from PhD. Look, if you felt stuck and you can’t figure out how to get rid of those unwanted pounds, consider what I did. If I can lose over 50 pounds and keep it off… You can too. PhD Weight Loss. It’s an amazing program. It’s not a shot in the belly for the rest of your life that’s going to cost an arm and a leg. It’s science-driven. It’s data-driven. You can use your food. You can use their food or use a combination of both, which is what I did. Make the call that can change your life the way it changed mine. Call 864-644-1900 to schedule your weight loss consultation. SPEAKER 06 :
Despite the sadness, the pain, the challenges we’re facing as a nation, I’m feeling so positive about some of the things that are happening. Andrew Colvett, who is Charlie Kirk’s right-hand man over at Turning Point USA, reported that the organization, Turning Point USA… has received over 32,000 inquiries over 48 hours to start new Turning Point campus chapters. Now to put that in perspective, he says, Turning Point USA currently has 900 college chapters officially and around 1,200 high school chapters with a presence on 3,500 total. Andrews said Charlie’s vision to have a Club America chapter, which is their high school brand, in every high school in America, which is around 23,000, will come true much faster than he could have ever possibly imagined. That is so impressive. Erica Kirk, Charlie’s widow, spoke to the nation next to her husband’s empty chair, in the Charlie Kirk studios. And I want to share this with you. This is Erica Kirk next to her husband’s empty chair in the studios with a powerful message to everybody who is grieving with her.
SPEAKER 07 :
The evildoers responsible for my husband’s assassination have no idea what they have done. They killed Charlie because he preached a message of patriotism, faith, and of God’s merciful love. They should all know this. If you thought that my husband’s mission was powerful before, you have no idea what You have no idea what you just have unleashed across this entire country and this world. You have no idea. You have no idea the fire that you have ignited within this wife.
SPEAKER 08 :
The cries of this widow will echo around the world like a battle cry.
SPEAKER 06 :
I was in church yesterday here in South Carolina. I went to Fellowship Greenville where the church was packed. filled with young people, a pastor who had tears in his eyes, who talked about political violence, who talked about silencing a popular voice. And I guess that’s even controversial to talk about it from the pulpit. Did your church talk about it yesterday? Did your pastor? Did your priest? Did your rabbi talk about the assassination? This is the first political assassination in America since 1968, right? We haven’t seen a political figure gunned down, killed, since Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. And Bobby Kennedy.
SPEAKER 1 :
1968.
SPEAKER 06 :
But here we are. You know, I’ve got to play the man in the suit again. I’ve got to play it one more time. And if you’re just joining us… I came upon this last night. A lot of people have reposted this video. It’s gone viral on X. I have it posted at Gallagher Show on X. I hope you’ll follow us there. And this is a very eventful day for a lot of reasons. First of all, here at Salem, while we’re all grieving and trying to figure out what to do next, we’re bringing the show to Phoenix this weekend. I’ll be attending the Charlie Kirk Memorial Service at the State Farm Stadium in Phoenix. over 60,000 seats. We’ll be broadcasting from Phoenix on Friday. I hope you can join us for the broadcast. Then we’ll also be in Phoenix after the memorial on Monday where we’ll share highlights with you from the memorial service. Also today, immediately after the Mike Gallagher show on many stations around the country and on Salem News Channel, Vice President J.D. Vance will host the Charlie Kirk show. That is today at noon, both on Salem Radio Network and Salem News Channel. 12 noon, the Vice President of the United States wanted to host today’s Charlie Kirk show. And many people are asking, so don’t miss that. Many people are asking, where does Salem go from here? And believe me, we have been put to the test. You know, in the original time slot of noon to 3 Eastern, the great Dennis Prager, was taken off the air after a horrible fall in his home where he suffered a catastrophic spinal injury. Charlie assumed that time slot with Dennis’ blessing. Dennis, incidentally, has recorded a beautiful, powerful, moving tribute to Charlie, which we’re going to air later this week for you. In Dennis’ own words… For many people, it’s been a long, hard, almost a year where you haven’t heard Dennis’ voice live. Well, you’re going to hear his message to Charlie Kirk later this week, probably from Phoenix on Friday here on the Mike Gallagher Show. We’ll be happy to share that with you. But for our company, of course, with Dennis, first Dennis and now Charlie, and people are saying, well, what goes next? What happens next? And frankly, I think we’re all trying to figure this out together. I’m hoping Erica will be a driving force behind Charlie’s mission. And as I said last week, Charlie’s assassination has created thousands and thousands of new Charlie Kirks. Every one of us needs to be fearless. Every one of us has to commit to truth and to goodness. And yes to God. That’s why I wanted to share with you this video clip. I’m not sure where this guy is from, but it was so meaningful that I want to play it for you again. We call it The Man in the Suit. This is a guy who just had a simple, heartfelt, emotional tribute to Charlie and to his wife. Let me share with you that video that moved me so deeply when I first saw it.
SPEAKER 04 :
You know, I don’t know. I don’t come from any kind of money. And I’ve never owned a suit before. My wife, she bought me this suit. Our anniversary is coming up. And we have a nice anniversary plan. You know, we make a little bit of money now. And I’m proud to say that because that’s certainly not where either one of us comes from. And I feel good in this suit, man. And, uh… I just want my wife to know… She made me feel good. It’s a $300 suit. I ain’t never had nothing like this before in my life. And I tell you what… Okay? Video flip here, so I’m gonna lose some of you. Uh… I didn’t know… Charlie Kirk never met that guy before in my life. And… Something else that I’ve never done before in my life is believe in God. I’m going to wear this suit to church. I’m going to go to church. I’m going to try to be a better father, husband and leader for my family. They deserve that. My phone fell down. I guess that’s the devil trying to mess me up right now. I’m going to try, y’all. Look at this suit. I look good, bro. My wife made me feel this way. Charlie’s made me feel this way.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah, message over. Yeah, well, message received, sir. And we thank you for that message. A beautiful tribute. Charlie made me feel this way. Here’s a text message from Illinois. Mike, that was a great video by the man efforting to live a better life. I agree, and I intend to do my best to improve myself. I’d imagine there will be millions doing that exact same thing. I am Charlie. I am Charlie. What an amazing, what an amazing, and incidentally, I want to clarify something. Because many are saying and pointing out accurately that these Minnesota Democrats were also assassinated. And that’s true. Absolutely true. Thank you, Florida, for the reminder. There’s been too much of this. And certainly the Charlie assassination is on a national scale that I think rivals or equals the national outrage over the murders of Dr. King and Bobby Kennedy. But you’re right. You’re right. It happened in Minnesota months ago. Yesterday, the pastor at Fellowship Greenville said, shared the anguish over the murder of Irina Zarutskaya on the train in Charlotte, which occurred just days before Charlie’s assassination. Too many young minds are baffled and overwhelmed and shocked and saddened by these senseless acts of violence. And something’s got to happen. Something’s got to happen.
SPEAKER 02 :
The Mike Gallagher Show.
SPEAKER 09 :
I compare what we are going through right now to 1968 and to the assassination of Martin Luther King. Not because King and Kirk are. You think it’s a fair comparison?
SPEAKER 12 :
I heard that comparison early, early date. I do believe that. because you had two non-elected officials that was taking a political stand, and both their voices were silenced, or tried to be silenced, because of someone’s opposing view. In the ReliefFactor.com studios, here’s Mike.
SPEAKER 06 :
My friend Mark Davis, and it’s so good to be with people you love and care about during tough times like this. So many people have been reaching out. We’ve all been reaching out to each other. Mark just texted me and said, the man in the suit absolutely gutted me. No, I know. I know. But it’s so… With the sadness, through the sadness comes a resolve. That was what the church service was like yesterday. And I think it was happening in churches all over America where people are saying, yes, it’s awful. Yes, we’re anxious and we’re concerned and we’re worried and we’re grieving. But we know how this story ends. Charlie Kirk was killed for his faith. I really believe that with all of my heart. Look, there’s nothing, and not to take anything away from Charlie’s brilliance and his intellect and his wisdom, but we all talk politics. We all talk about guns. We all talk about the border. We all talk about crime. We all talk about illegal immigration. Charlie brought his faith to college campuses. That’s why they hate him. They hate him because of his strong, unapologetic love of Jesus Christ. And the ultimate message, how about the message that he gave a guy, and this is just chilling. Kristen, can you pull up the clip of the guy with the beard who said, what would you do if you had just a few seconds to live after you were shot? Think about how chilling that is. That a man at one of the turning point events, I don’t know when this took place. but actually said to Charlie, Charlie, hypothetically, I’ve been shot, he said. I’m about to die. What do I do? Listen to Charlie’s response.
SPEAKER 03 :
I have 30 seconds left to live. I’m dying from a gunshot wound. But what would you actually want to tell me if I have 30 seconds left to live? Boy, you got 30 seconds. In 30 seconds, you’re about to meet eternal judgment. And there’s only one way that you can get bailed out of that. It’s not all the good things you did or the moral scorecard. It’s whether or not you have Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. And that’s the only thing that’s going to matter. And so you’ve got 10 seconds left. You’re dying from a gunshot wound. And you ask the question, who is Jesus Christ? And the answer to that singular question, who is Jesus Christ, is the most important question for everyone in the audience. Not how much money you have, not how much good stuff you do. It is, who is Jesus Christ? You might say, oh. Jesus was, you know, a teller of good tales or Jesus was a good person or Jesus was a historical figure. None of that’s going to cut it. It’s whether or not you repent and you ask Christ to come in as your Lord and Savior. That’s the only thing that will save you from eternal death.
SPEAKER 06 :
Wow. And we know that Charlie knew Jesus Christ during his last seconds on earth. As he died and he joined the Lord. We know where he was. And I wonder if churches acknowledge this. I mean, church plays a big role in all of this. And I was so glad that the church I happened to attend yesterday here in South Carolina, Fellowship Greenville, paid proper attention. homage and support and a tribute to Charlie and talked about how we’re grieving. People in the church, a lot of young people with tears in their eyes. I got an email from Paula in Hawaii. She said, Mike, I attend an Episcopal church on Hawaii Island. There was no mention of Charlie Kirk yesterday. During our prayers for the people, I said Charlie Kirk out loud. There was no response from anyone. Any advice for me, Mike? Oh, yeah. Find a new church. That would be my advice, Paula. I’m sure there are other churches to attend. Might be time for you to find a new one. Here’s Marshall in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, waiting patiently. Marshall, thanks very much for hanging in there with us. Welcome to the Mike Gallagher Show.
SPEAKER 05 :
Thank you for taking my call, Mr. Gallagher. You bet. I live up in the Ozarks, and only about nine months ago, I discovered 101.1 The Answer out of Little Rock and Salem News Channel. Great. And it’s been a blessing ever since, brother. Wow. I’ve sat here on hold and so many things I want to say, but I guess the biggest thing is that we got to remember that – As Christians, it tells us not to hide that light, that light of hope.
SPEAKER 06 :
Right.
SPEAKER 05 :
And I truly believe that Charlie Kirk had that light of hope, and he let it shine. He stood upon that hill and lifted that light, and I believe God lifted him up for our country to see that light, not about the not about our politics, not about our differences, but about that light and that saving grace of our Lord.
SPEAKER 06 :
Amen. Well put, Marshall. God bless you. And I know you’re hurting. We’re all hurting. And I thank you for sharing your thoughts and patiently waiting with us here on the Mike Gallagher Show. We have a historic broadcast today. Today at 12 noon Eastern, Vice President J.D. Vance will host the Charlie Kirk Show here on Salem Media. On the Salem Radio Network, Salem News Channel, the Vice President of the United States will be hosting the Charlie Kirk Show, again, 12 noon today, Eastern. Tune in, snc.tv, or on many of your favorite stations all over the country. I was emotional Saturday night. We had a big event. that turned into a Charlie Kirk Tribune. There were a lot of politicians. There was a good old-fashioned stump political event. Joey and Peg Hudson hosted, and it was just a beautiful time. Lieutenant Governor Pamela Evatt was there. Ralph Norman was there. Lots of great political candidates. Paul Dance was there. who’s challenging Lindsey Graham. Right, Joey? And he was really impressive. A representative for Lindsey Graham was there. And at the end of the night after I spoke… I was presented with an award that really just about brought me to my knees. It was, if you’re watching on Salem News Channel, I’ve got the award in my hand. The 4th Congressional District Club presented me with what they called the 1st Annual Charlie Kirk Freedom Award. Nate Loip, who’s the head of the 4th District Club, said that, Mike, we just so appreciate your voice over the years. And remember, in this market, I mean, I’ve been on the air here pretty much continuously for 36 years. So a whole lot of people are familiar with me and my family and my work here. And what an honor. And I don’t deserve this at all. I do not. Believe me, I’m not worthy of this kind of a tribute. But I will treasure this little eagle. I will have this with me for the rest of my life. I don’t know that Nate Loip and the folks that I met at the 4th District Club have any understanding of how deeply and how profoundly impacted I was by them giving me this award. So, again, I’m not deserving of this in any way, shape, or form. But that doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate it. So this is going to be a real highlight and something that I will treasure forever. Absolutely a beautiful, beautiful moment, and I’m so grateful. So it’s good to be home again, and South Carolina is home. I just saw Steve Senecroppi, the general manager here at 98.9 WORD, the answer. They just put in a brand-new, beautiful transmitter here in South Carolina, and it’s booming all over the Carolinas. So great to be home again with my dear friends Joey and Peg and all of you here in the upstate of South Carolina. I’m so glad I was home during this tough, tough weekend. More coming up.
