I drove by a church last night in Florida where I live. It’s called Allendale United Methodist Church. And as the country is debating and… absorbing the shooting of the 37-year-old anti-ICE activist yesterday in Minneapolis, projected onto the side of the church in gigantic letters. I mean, they must be 10 foot tall. Abolish ICE. On the side of a United Methodist Church. Abolish ICE. I’m not sure if that sign was put up there just yesterday. I suspect it’s been there for a while. It was at night, and it was as plain as day, so I don’t know if they were projected letters that were illuminated. I was going to stop and take a picture, and I thought, you know, I got somewhere to be, but I’ll talk about it on the show tomorrow. Because all I could think of was impressionable people who go to that church and could say if ICE conducted lawful immigration enforcement in St. Petersburg, which they have, why wouldn’t members of that congregation feel emboldened to do the very same thing that this 37-year-old woman did yesterday? impede a lawful enforcement operation? How can all of us see the same videos and walk away with such wildly different conclusions? And the answer, of course, is simple. How you feel about yesterday’s shooting depends on how you feel about the presence of of immigration enforcement in America. If you’re Jacob Fry, the mayor of Minneapolis, and you don’t want ICE there, you see the video and you say any claim of self-defense is BS. You say that before any benefit of an investigation, before any release of body cam videos, you say that before anything else. You go to the podium and you fan the flames of anger And you say any claim of self-defense is BS. And incidentally, this clown Jacob Fry didn’t say the letters BS. And then he went on to say to ICE, get the F out of our city. And again, he didn’t say F. That’s what a mayor of a blue city looks like. That’s what he sounds like. Instead of being a leader, because a leader would say, and I’ll give the Democrat mayor of Minneapolis the benefit of the doubt. He’s a progressive. He’s a lefty. He doesn’t want law. He doesn’t like cops. He doesn’t like law enforcement. He doesn’t think we should be able to enforce our immigration laws. Okay. So what he says at the podium. as a leader, would be, I don’t agree with ICE’s presence here. However, we have to trust the process. We have to begin an investigation. We have to let the facts lead us where they may, and everybody needs to be calm, and nobody should be violent. No, no, no, that’s not what this mayor says. Here’s what this mayor says.

And I have a message for ICE. To ICE, get the f*** out of Minneapolis. We do not want you here. Your stated reason for being in this city is to create some kind of safety and you are doing exactly the opposite. People are being hurt. Families are being ripped apart. Long-term Minneapolis residents that have contributed so greatly to our city, to our culture, to our economy are being terrorized and now somebody is dead. That’s on you. And it’s also on you to leave. It’s on you to make sure that further damage, further loss of life and injury is not done.

You want to tell ICE? You want to tell law enforcement that is dutifully enforcing our immigration laws to get the F out of Dodge? Tim, Walt said, I can do you one better.

Well, I said this yesterday. We’ve never been at war with our federal government. I think in this case that the National Guard is their main mission. They have a dual mission. Whoa.

I don’t like to call them agents because it connotes some kind of, oh, they’re sort of, you know, like a 007 secret. No, they’re law enforcement. They’re federal law enforcement doing their job. So with all the disputes… With all of the doubts, with all of the fears, there’s one thing you cannot dispute. We can disagree about the shooting, and incidentally, many will. And I promise you today, we’re going to have a good faith conversation about all of it. You think it was a bad shooting? You call me. You think the cops shouldn’t have pulled the trigger? You can call me. I’m not going to take your head off. We’re Americans. We get to debate all of this. We don’t have the benefit of body cams. But we saw what we saw. We have eyes to see with. We have ears to hear with. Her window was down. She heard them say, stop, get out of the car. She heard them. And she accelerated. We all know that. But you can dispute the shooting. You can dispute all of it. What you can’t dispute is that America has a right to enforce immigration laws. Let me repeat that. America has a right to enforce our immigration laws. That is not even close to debatable. Nobody can debate that. Nobody can dispute that. America has a right to enforce existing immigration laws. You don’t like the immigration laws? Change them. Get a whole new set of senators and congressmen and presidents and mayors and change it all. But for now, we have a right to enforce existing immigration laws. That is without dispute. I get up early in the morning at 4.30, and I found it so convenient on the news. They showed the block off on Portland with people standing around. It looked like an old-fashioned burner to keep a fire going all night. They also had pallets with, like, construction orange sawhorses holding up the pallets. And the Audi parked in front of where the burner was. I mean, they could have put an old truck there. Who hauled all that stuff in is the first thing that came to my mind. How convenient. And it pissed me off.

Well, do you remember there was a while ago I had a guest on who has a company that hires paid protesters. Remember that guy? It was last year sometime, a year and a half ago. And the guy’s site invites people to sign up. And this guy just is like a paid protest company for hire. And he pays people. And he said, look, I’m very Democratic. I have people on the right, people on the left. You want to protest? I’ll help organize the protest, and I will pay the protesters. I wonder if any of those paid protesters are in action right now in your state, Carrie. Wow. That’s sad. No, it’s terrifying. I mean, it’s really – because these aren’t organic. Christian, you said something to me on the talkback, and I couldn’t quite hear what you said. Were you telling me who – Adam Swart was the guy’s name. Do you remember the name of the company he had? It was online. We had a crowd, what is it, crowds on demand? And this is a site where people can sign up to get paid to go protest. These are not organic protests. Even this woman who was killed apparently was from Colorado. Now, people said she’s got Missouri license plates. Her mother said that she and her partner were living in Minneapolis. But a lot of these protesters and activists, we find out, are not native to that particular community. But the back and forth, you know what’s going to happen from a legal perspective? On a federal level, there’s a good possibility that this law enforcement officer will be cleared on self-defense charges. But then he’s got to deal with the attorney general of the state of Minnesota, this guy, Keith Ellison.

I can say this is a tragic, tragically foreseeable incident, because when you escalate with the number of ICE agents that Trump has done, when you recruit them, when you train them, when you signal to them that they don’t have to operate under the normal rules by disclosing their identity, you let them wear masks, you do all these kind of things. You are going to have tragic incidents like this. It is foreseeable, and it should be expected, and it must be condemned.

That’s the chief law enforcement officer, and he’s already on record as saying that they will launch a city and state investigation against the ICE officer who pulled the trigger. Then the ICE officer’s got to deal with this guy, the mayor of Minneapolis, Jacob Frye.

They’re yelling at her. And I can’t play the audio because there’s a lot of F-words. But then there’s a video angle from across the street. It clearly shows the car striking the ICE officer. He gets hit in the legs. He’s pulling out his sidearm. He’s directly in front of the vehicle. He’s not on the side. She wasn’t trying to flee. She was an anti-ICE activist who, along with her partner… was there to cause trouble and make it difficult for the ICE officers to do their job. Ultimately, where do you hear the Chris Rock? Well, next thing you know, they’re getting shot at. And if that doesn’t stop them, they end up rolling their car over, and that’s the end of that. I mean, this has happened hundreds of times. Chris Rock did a video years ago on his show, on his HBO show, The Chris Rock Show. And this is pretty dated. I think this is maybe, Kristen thinks it might be the late 90s. But it was a long time ago. But his message, and it’s humorous, and we had to do some clipping here because there’s some dirty words in it. But his message, this is probably a pretty good time to revisit the message that Chris Rock had as to how to interact with law enforcement who might be stopping you.

Laws were made for a reason. Think of them as hints. You’ve heard people say, man, I wouldn’t do that if I was you. Well, here’s some of that. Carjacking, armed robbery, arson, selling drugs, buying drugs, stabbing, shooting. You know, you probably won’t get your ass kicked if you just use common sense. If you jump a subway turnstile, you might just get off with a warning from the police. But if you jump a turnstile carrying a loaded gun and smoking a joint, then maybe you need your ass kicked. We all know what happened to Rodney King. But Rodney wouldn’t have gotten an ass kicked if he had just followed this simple tip. When you see flashing police lights in your mirror, stop immediately. Everybody knows if the police have to come and get you, they’re bringing an ass kicking with them. Here’s a no-brainer. If you’re listening to loud rap music, turn that shit off. Blasting the police while you’re getting pulled over by the police is just ignorant. When an officer approaches your car, be polite.
