In this thought-provoking episode, we delve into the historical covenants forged between God and Abraham, and examine the prophesied land bestowed upon Abram’s descendants. Journey with us as we explore how the territorial realities of modern Israel compare to ancient promises, and what that means for believers today. The fulfillment of these divine promises stands as a testament to the enduring faith shared across generations. We look back at the crucial moments in history, like the Six-Day War and the establishment of Israel, and what they symbolize within the larger biblical framework.

On that day, the Lord made a covenant with Abram, A-B-R-A-M, saying, the Lord saying, To your offspring, Abram, I give this land, from the river of Egypt, that would be the great river, that is the Nile River, to the river Euphrates. Boy, that’s a huge piece of territory. And those were the words of the great God Jehovah, the great I AM, the God of Abraham and Isaac and Jacob, and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Himself a Jew. Don’t ever forget that. Modern Israel is one of the world’s smallest countries. It is approximately the size of our state of New Jersey. But the current geographic boundaries of the state of Israel are nowhere near the size of the land which God had promised Abraham and his descendants when that original covenant was made, way back then. The divine promise was geographic territory which began at the River Nile in Egypt and extended all the way, all the way to the River Euphrates in Mesopotamia. That is land which is four or five times larger than the present territory occupied by Israel and claimed as its own Jewish state. Boy, there’s a lot yet to come, is there not? If you are Jew or Christian, real Jew or real Christian, you believe the covenant, the promise of God Almighty, you believe that, and you believe that the day will come in the timing of our Lord, when that promise will be fulfilled. No divine promise is ever forgotten or broken or unfulfilled. Never. Such promises are irrevocable, everlasting, and they will happen. The modern state of Israel began in 1948, sanctioned and originated by the United Nations. And almost immediately, Surrounding Arab nations went to war to exterminate the new Jewish state. But they failed. Time and again they failed. Such a notable war was that which occurred in 1967, the so-called Six-Day War. Israel triumphed yet again and recaptured East Jerusalem and Judea and Samaria, commonly known as the West Bank. along with the Golan Heights and Gaza. And as such, the ancient heartland of Israel was once again under Jewish control. More than six million Jews were exterminated in World War II. Six million Jews. As the result of the hatred and barbarism of Hitler and Nazi Germany. And it was hoped and even believed by the world at large in 1945, as the war ended, that the war would bring the end of such virulent anti-Semitism. And it did happen for a time. But now, shockingly so, anti-Semitism has reared its ugly and barbaric head in the great America in which we live. Are you aware of that? And the world around us, the world over. That very oldest of hatreds, the hatred of the Jews, is once again sadly alive and well. Sadly so. This small Jewish state, the only one of its kind, is open and welcoming and inhabited by non-Jews and non-Jewish believers. And all religions are allowed freedom of worship and belief and practice, in some ways more so or as much as any other nation on earth, including our very own. No matter, the hatred continues And it grows virulent anti-Semitism. Ah, it’s awful. It’s just flat-out awful, my fellow Americans. But why? Why this hatred? It is so irrational. It’s unfounded. It’s personal. And it’s prejudiced. Jews in our very own America live in fear of physical harm or even death. Many wonder if they should wear the kippah for fear of physical violence. Many Jews fear that hanging a mezuzah on the door would make their home and their families targets for anti-Jewish violence. Synagogues employ armed guards to protect worshipers, and openly Jewish businesses often do the very same. So many American Jews fear violence and harassment and being ostracized from American society generally. Police cruisers can be found outside Hebrew schools. SWAT teams are on standby, especially during Jewish High Holy Days, like Passover soon to come. A recent survey indicated that some 86%, 86% of American Jews say anti-Semitism has increased substantially since the October 7 Hamas attacks against Israel, and the warlike response of Israel to that attack. Many Jews have altered their daily lifestyle and behaviors out of fear of anti-Semitism in America. Students have hidden their stars of David, families often skip synagogue and worship, and even one out of five American Jews, get this now, they have considered leaving the country because of anti-Semitism. Why? Why is this happening? Why is there such hatred of the Jews and the little nation of Israel and Israelis? Why? Why? Do you hate Israel? Do you hate the Jews? Are you anti-Semitic? Boy, I hope not. Your Lord God, your Lord Jesus Christ would have you be exactly the opposite. It is interesting to note that the American population is comprised of only 2% Jews. 2%. but it seems that 2% generates more hatred than the other 98% of Americans combined. Why? Why? Do you have an answer to that? Sadly, and illegally, some California professors, and many others in other states, are helping fuel anti-Israel sentiments and activism. Hundreds of such incidents have occurred as academic departments and professors have used their platforms and their authority to advance and advocate coordinated anti-Israel agendas. Oh, how sad. And that has resulted in harassment, exclusion, and intimidation of Jewish and pro-Jewish students. Faculty also fostered and encouraged anti-Israel boycott, sanctioned, and divestment, BDS movements and activities, on campus and off. And of course, Governor Newsom of California, what a guy. And his minions do nothing about this blatant anti-Semitic happenings in California education. Nothing. They act as if it doesn’t even exist, or perhaps by not doing anything, they endorse it. The world generally seems to pressure Israel to accept a two-state solution. which would include the division of Jerusalem once again, and make the West Bank, Judea, and Samaria, critical Jewish territory, the very heart of biblical Israel, part of the Palestinian state. Wow. I don’t think the Lord God Jehovah would particularly care for that. Such a solution is, of course, fostered by the anti-Semitic United Nations. The God of Abraham, of course, disagrees. and of course will one day make his covenant to Abraham and his descendants a reality. That day may be fast coming, but that will surely come when the Messiah returns. May it be soon. Are you anti-Semitic? Do you hate or dislike or ostracize or want nothing to do with the Jews? Do you? Neutral, says the Scriptures, neutral you cannot be. If you are truly Christian, you know and you believe that anti-Semitism in any form is simply wrong. And perhaps you are wrong by not standing up and condemning anti-Semitism. Do you? Will you? Really, as a Christian, you must. Ah, and never forget, Christian or citizen, what the great God Jehovah, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob said to us in the very first biblical book of Genesis. I will bless those who bless you, Israel and the Jews. And I will curse those who curse you, Israel and the Jews. You don’t want that kind of divine curse, do you? And by the way, please never forget, Jesus Christ, the Messiah, our Lord, our Savior, was a Jew. Jesus was a Jew. Don’t ever forget that. So we choose today, my fellow Christians, whether or not we want the blessing or the curse of our Lord, of our God. Which will you choose?
