We’ve got another great show planned for you today. As you know, we search for truth and clarity by looking at these issues through the lens of freedom versus force, force versus freedom. If something’s a good idea, you should not have to force people to do it. And it’s not compassionate nor altruistic to take other people’s stuff, whether or not it’s their rights, their property, freedom, livelihood, opportunity, childhoods, or lives via force. Force can be a weapon. But it can be policy and unpredictable in excess of taxation, fear, coercion, government-induced inflation, and this agenda by the World Economic Forum and the globalist elites that plays out in the United Nations. But we see it at the Colorado State Legislature with this Colorado governor, but we even see it at the municipal and county levels as well. And so that’s why we do the show is so that we can get our brain around these particular issues. And remember, if something’s a good idea, you should not have to use force to implement it. And on the show, we focus on the issues and we’ll mention the people involved. involved in those issues, but we work diligently to stay out of the personality fighting that happens out there. It’s an adverb. And number one, the definition is in a manner that conceals or may conceal what is true or real. Number two, to all outward appearances. So an example, and the dictionary that I use this from, they gave credit to people that gave the sentence. This was from Donna Tartt, who said, ostensibly, the reason for his visit was to see an old friend. And ostensibly should be easy to use in a sentence today. And it’s spelled O-S-T-E-N-S-I-B-L-Y. And that’s ostensibly. And our featured guest in our number one is Dr. Greg LaPointe with the Center for Natural Law. And so I went to George Mason, one of our founders, for our quote of the day. And regarding natural law, George Mason was born in 1725. He died in 1792. He was an American planter, politician, founding father and delegate to the U.S. Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia in 1787, where he was one of the three delegates who refused to sign the Constitution. His writings included substantial portions of the Fairfax Resolves of 1774, the Virginia Declaration of Rights of 1776, and his objections to this Constitution of Government, 1787, opposing ratification, having exercised a significant influence on American political thought and events. The Virginia Declaration of Rights, which Mason principally authored, served as a basis for the United States Bill of Rights, of which he has been deemed a father. And this was his quote. He said, the laws of nature are the laws of God, whose authority can be superseded by no power on earth. And that is George Mason, really an interesting guy. I don’t know enough about him. And we probably need to learn some more about him. I have an idea about that. So stay tuned. We’ll see what happens with that. Regarding news headlines, first of all, it’s all over the news right now, all of the pundits thinking about what does the election results of Tuesday mean. And so stay tuned. I think it’s going to be quite interesting regarding some of the things that occurred on Tuesday. But here in Colorado, we continue to move towards socialism. And the problem with socialism, as Maggie Thatcher said, is ultimately you run out of other people’s money. And when that happens, socialism is no longer about the free stuff. So like, for example, Proposition MM and Proposition LL, which both passed, which is ostensibly healthy school meals for all children. But it’s not for all children. It’s for schools that are enrolled in the National Lunch Program, which there already has been lunches for kids. But it was taxing somebody else to give this gimme to, again, ostensibly school children. But when you really delved into it, It created new bureaucracies, and those bureaucrats have to be paid. And they’ll all get paid before there’s one meal that goes to a kid. But apparently the people of Colorado fell for it. And so we’ve got to continue to engage in this battle of ideas because we are voting ourselves into all kinds of taxes and debt. And while we’re concerned about that at the federal level, at the local level, it’s crazy what we’re doing at the local level. It’s time that we say no and have these different entities have to tighten their belts, because what happens is it’s tightening our belts with all these taxes. and fees and debt that we have to pay off. So we have to continue to engage in this discussion that is occurring there. And basically, socialism, the carrot, the free stuff is the carrot to get people to vote for socialism. And socialism moves to government control, which can move to communism as well. So this is from Newsmax. Trump said we must choose communism or common sense. And it says the day after Republicans suffered bruising electoral losses, including a victory by Democrat socialist Zoran Mamdani in New York’s mayoral election, President Donald Trump said Wednesday that Americans must choose between communism and common sense. He added that under his administration, he will never let communism prevail. After last night’s results, the decision facing all Americans could not be more clear, Trump said in a speech in Miami, marking the first anniversary of his election to a second term. He says we have a choice between communism and common sense. Does that make sense to you? And, you know, you take a look back a thousand years. It hasn’t worked. If it worked, we’d be using it, I guess. But it hasn’t worked. Our opponents are offering an economic nightmare. He says we’re delivering an economic miracle. They want higher spending for government and illegal aliens. And we want bigger paychecks for American workers and American families. And that’s what we’re delivering. you see that they stand for crime and chaos and corruption. He’s pretty well nailed it, I think, there. And so we are really at a time of choosing on what is going to happen in our country. So in Colorado, the big ones all passed, all the tax and the debt and the spending. So Proposition LL, which was the state asked to keep all the excess taxes that they collected from us for decades, I have this again ostensibly in air quotes, healthy school meals for all children. Coloradans voted yes, or that’s what the results were. And on Proposition MM, an almost $100 million tax increase, and they want to keep any excess revenue as well on that. for healthy school meals for all children, and that passed. And then Mike Johnston’s big debt package, and that was 2A through 2E, those all passed as well. And so that’s what happened here in Colorado. In Texas, though, this is super interesting. And that is this is from Ballotpedia. It says Texas voters approve all 17 constitutional amendments, including prohibiting certain future taxes, adding parental rights and prohibiting noncitizens from voting in state and local elections. So this is pretty huge. You’re probably going to have all these people from New York move to Texas. It says the support ranged from 57 percent to 89 percent. The average approval rate was 70 percent, says the measure with the closest margin was Proposition six, which prohibits the state legislature from enacting laws that impose an occupation tax. on a registered securities market operator or securities transaction tax. As of November 5th, the margin was 55% to 45%. And as of 2025, no state levy to financial transaction tax on securities, although there are those that are talking about it. And it’s just pretty amazing. And you can look this whole thing up at Ballotpedia. It says the measure with the widest margin was Proposition 10, which provides for a temporary homestead exemption for improvements made to residences destroyed by fire. The margin was 89% to 11%. And so pretty amazing. It makes Texas even more popular, it seems like. We have these important discussions because of our sponsors. But is there still time for people to spruce up the house before the fam comes for Christmas or for Thanksgiving?

Absolutely. There sure is. Phones are ringing. Some people want interior paintings. Some people want lighting. But yes, there is still time. And I can’t believe that it’s already Thanksgiving or close enough.

It is, and we were able to squeak out at exterior this week because the weather is so nice, and normally it’s not this nice in November, so… Yes.

Okay. Reach out to you at www.paintwithradiant.com. So let’s move over to the other thing that you’ve been doing, Karen Gorday, and you ran for Lakewood City Council. So tell us what happened with that race.
SPEAKER 09 :
Well, it didn’t go the way that I wanted. So there’s that piece. And before I do, like, a campaign recap, I want to say it’s my turn to give the Cut Board kudos. Kim, you’ve got an amazing team. And when I look at who’s on the board, I think the majority of the board was involved in my campaign in some way. And I just didn’t realize it when – You know, when you’re running a campaign, you’re just moving a thousand miles an hour. But I look at like Rob Knuth invited me to the Republican Men’s Club, which they do allow women to come eat lunch with them. But that’s that’s what it’s called. Bill Hamill and his wife allow me to put yard signs in the yard and. donated to my campaign i mean all of them donated to my campaign that i’m going to mention uh but let me put a sign on the back of the fence along bike path um ray and paula beard um did phone banking for me last weekend um had a couple conversations with steve dorman um and cory and cory kept me laughing even though we did talk politics but he did keep me laughing and then um You, Ramey and Mary, especially since you have been on city council in the past, just amazing as far as insight about campaigning, about city council. And then Mary was also my part-time campaign manager at the very beginning before she got involved with the referendum. But even as things happened on the campaign, she kind of became my sounding board place to talk because things did get a little ugly. And I never talked about that on your show when we talked on a weekly basis. And when I say that got ugly, you know, anytime you run for public office, You know, you expect them to get a little dirty. Ramey calls it, you know, politics is a blood sport. But what I wasn’t expecting was when I was on the campaign trail, I won over some voters. And six to eight weeks after I won over this guy, he sent me an email and then called me and said, can we talk again? Because your opponent was over here when she was knocking doors. And apparently someone on either her or someone on her campaign staff took the time to go into the state database and see which political affiliation my donors had. And without telling my donors, you know, she may be unaffiliated, but the majority of her money is coming from Republicans. So that was one thing that was concerning. But I was also getting a lot of e-mails. um, from folks in the ward asking me who I voted for for president in 2020 and 2024. Um, and that kind of surprised me because that’s not, um, a typical question in a local race. Um, and come to find out my opponent was also using my voter record, uh, when she was knocking doors. Now I could understand if I was a public official, um, and I’m voting on things in public, but my voting record, your voting record, everybody’s voting record is supposed to be private, and it’s not. If you have access to the voting record system, you do have voter history. All you have to do is look up their voter ID, and then you can see do they vote red, blue, libertarian, whatever, and you know who they voted for in the presidential election.
SPEAKER 18 :
That’s so wrong. I don’t think people realize that.
SPEAKER 09 :
I don’t think so either. And I remember when I got the voter data and I got it in late July and it was sometime in August or September and I’m on the phone with Mary and I was like, you can’t believe I can’t believe what I’m looking at. And I was like, if I have your voter ID, I can go see. Did you vote in person? Did you do a mail in ballot? And what party did you vote for? And Mary didn’t believe me. I said, okay, well, and this year you did this, and this year you did this, and this year you did this. And she was like, wow, have you told Kim? And I was like, I don’t have time. But then to have that used against me on the campaign trail was just crazy to me. And, you know, I’ve volunteered over the years for many campaigns. And, you know, you get a spreadsheet when you’re doing phone bank. And there are, you know, there is a column often that says, you know, strong Dem campaign. moderate dem, moderate Republican, strong Republican on a lot of folks. And that’s probably because they have taken years of voter data and they figure out patterns and how to target folks. And I think that’s part of why they’re such a machine is they are mashing this data and they know who to target for elections.
SPEAKER 18 :
Wow. This is really, um, uh, uh, this, I’m speechless. You and I talked yesterday and you said, Kim, I hope that what I’m giving you this information, it doesn’t make you speechless. And I knew this was coming when you, when, because we talked about it yesterday, but I, I, I don’t quite know what to do with it yet. Karen.
SPEAKER 09 :
I don’t blame you. And, and I think it’s twofold. Um, Get involved if you’re not involved now, because I look at the results nationwide from Tuesday, and it’s scary because I feel we’re losing our country to communism just nationwide. And it is really important that liberty-minded individuals stand up, get involved, and help folks get organized. I know I’ve told the Jeffco libertarians and the Jeffco Republicans, I will help. We’ve got to get organized.
SPEAKER 18 :
You know, what I see, Karen, though, is I see that there are egos get in the way on this whole organizing thing. And somehow the radicals. activists that have taken over the Democrat Party, they they are focused on their that goal of basically taking over the country. And meanwhile, back at the ranch, everybody else, we’ve got all these egos going on, which is difficult to manage.
SPEAKER 09 :
I would agree. And the radicals have just taken over the Libertarian Party of Colorado in the last two to three weeks. So the local chapters. Yes, the local chapters of libertarians are true libertarians. But the radicals have just taken over the Libertarian Party of Colorado and. And and that is concerning because to your point, because that’s one thing I did see is the egos and the personalities getting in the way. And part of that is, you know, I got my campaign got shot in the foot by the Republicans about three weeks ago. And what happened is. Well, so I’m an unaffiliated candidate. And all of a sudden, without speaking to me, I ended up on the GOP, the Jeffco GOP voting guide. And there is a large population out there. And I know this will surprise you, but there’s a large population that if the Republicans say vote one way or vote for somebody, they vote directly opposite because they don’t like Trump and they associate all Republicans with Trump. And so I think it’s important to get these eagles out of the way. And when you have candidates that are running, the parties need to work with the candidates and put their eagles aside. And while you think you might be helping them, find out what they want for their campaign and how you can help them strategically. Because I think there’s a lot of strategy missing as well as these radicals are just taking over the entire country.
SPEAKER 18 :
Well, and what I have seen many times in Colorado GOP politics is the consultants, they’re not focused necessarily on winning. What happens over on the Democrat side is that they are focused on winning. But I have seen time in and time out with consultants when somebody says, hey, I’m going to throw my hat in the ring for whatever. And the first thing out of the consultant’s mouth is, how much money can you raise? It’s not, how are we going to win? How much money can you raise? And the consultants win either way. On an issue or a candidate, win or lose, the consultants over on the GOP side, they still make their money. And that’s a real problem that I see with what is happening with these races in Colorado. But Karen, I don’t think that this is any longer Democrat versus Republican. The Democrat Party has been taken over by the radical activists that want to move us towards communism. And people wring their hands. They say, oh, Trump is so divisive. Everything’s so divisive. We need to come together. Karen, I don’t see how we come together with people that want to destroy our country. And I think that… Go ahead.
SPEAKER 09 :
Well, I would say you’re absolutely right. And I was talking with someone, and I’m going to keep them anonymous, but they brought up a good point. When you have the walk-away movement from the Democrats, and I was one of them, and there were hundreds of thousands that walked away, that opened up the Democrats to this radical… you know, folks, and that has turned the Democrat Party into radicals, which is why a lot of the unaffiliates still vote Democrat, and you’ve got to figure out how to reach those unaffiliated voters, because those folks that walked away are still under the programming of vote blue no matter who, and they don’t realize, potentially, that Blue is now socialist communist and we could very easily lose our country.
SPEAKER 18 :
Well, and so I think that the definition is, is do you believe in this vision of our declaration that all men are created equal with these rights from God of life, liberty and pursuit of happiness? Or do you not? I think that may need to be our litmus test. Karen Gorday.
SPEAKER 09 :
I would agree. And I was talking with an unaffiliated candidate in another race yesterday and the day before, kind of reflecting. And she said, you know, I never understood how important the Constitution was until the last year. And we somehow have to figure out how to make sure like the progressives understand the Constitution and liberty and how fragile it is. And so to your point with a litmus test, it we really need a litmus test and we need to get the egos and personalities out of politics very quickly.

Well, good to have you. So you are with the Center for Natural Law. And of course, the founders talked about natural law all the time. So what would you say? What is natural law?
SPEAKER 17 :
Well, natural law is considered a higher law, and that refers to government or civil law. It precedes government. It is the standard by which government should conform itself legislatively, judicially. It is a higher law. It’s also a perennial tradition of what is referred to as right reasoning or reasonableness. but it touches a whole list of social institutions and social interactions besides government. Natural law certainly is supposed to limit government, no doubt about that, and that’s very relevant today. But it also includes important issues like the strength of the family, the opportunity to work within an economy, in society. It includes personal virtue issues. being civil and civility, something we see a breakdown in society today. It’s terrible. There’s been terrible incivility to each other. So that’s a violation of natural law. It also includes education. Our higher educations and universities have been teaching anti-realism philosophy really since the time of Rene Descartes, approximately in the 1600s. Well, All of that has come to haunt us, actually, because anti-realism supports ideologies. It supports excessive government. anti-realist philosophies of all kinds, the German idealist, existentialist, the phenomenologist. There’s many, actually. The deconstructionist, the structuralist, the Marxist, all of those philosophies that are generously taught in all of our universities, including Catholic universities. And I happen to be Catholic, and I think it’s shameful that Catholic universities should be teaching these anti-realist philosophies So abundantly, but it undermines society. It undermines our confidence in government. It leads to excessive government. It leads to actually a plethora of social problems that we happen to be seeing in today’s culture. So it is, lastly, I would just add this. It does, natural law establishes various modes of justice. And it establishes proper customs and traditions. So it goes a long, long way. And it is probably one of the most important subjects on the planet to know. It’s very foundational. It’s a cornerstone subject. Natural law is enormously important.
SPEAKER 18 :
Well, the founders really thought a lot about it. In fact, in the Declaration, Jefferson refers to laws of nature and nature’s God. So right there, wouldn’t you say that’s natural law there?
SPEAKER 17 :
Most definitely. Right on the point. It is the law of nature and nature’s God. In fact, all the founding documents are replete with natural law principles. It’s unavoidable. They are saturated with natural law. And I might just add as an aside, so is Scripture. The wisdom books are just a saturation that’s all natural law thinking, natural law principles and guidelines. Natural law is part of our common heritage, actually. It’s a perennial tradition. It goes all the way back. The first evidence of natural law was written… on what are referred to as the Noahide laws, Noah and the Ark. They had something very similar to the Ten Commandments. The Ten Commandments are statements of natural law. These Noahide principles going back, we don’t know exactly when Noah lived. I’ll just… say 3000 BC, it could be longer than that. They were aware of natural law. It has to do with right reasoning. But yes, our culture, Western civilization is successful. It flourishes because we have respected the natural law. We’ve honored it. We’ve embraced it. We’ve lived by it. And we see any society, including Western civilization, dissolve and start to disintegrate once we start disrespecting the natural law. It’s as sure as anything else. You embrace it. There’s success, flourishing, contentment, happiness, success. You disrespect the natural law and all sorts of negative outcomes occur. Many, many of all kinds. Government grows bigger, more oppressive, more intrusive, and society starts breaking down. Morals start breaking down. We disrespect our fellow fellow man once we start dishonoring and ignoring and turning away from the natural law.
SPEAKER 18 :
So, Dr. LaPointe, and you connected that dot. I was thinking that very, very possibly that natural law is based in the Ten Commandments because the Ten Commandments pretty well suggest a great way for people to live in society. Dennis Prager, I think, had referred to the Do Not Steal Commandment as perhaps one of the most important. And what we see now is that we are using government to steal from one person to give to another. And a perfect example is this Proposition MM that was passed by the people of Colorado where it’s couched as healthy school meals for children. We like to feed children. We think that it’s important that children have good food. So the whole title plays into that. But then it says, but if you make $300,000 or less, you don’t have to pay for that. We’re going to take it from these people over here. And that would be, I think, antithetical to natural law. Yes?
SPEAKER 17 :
yes it is there’s no question about it uh government handouts government freebies uh even rice i mean they they describe it as if a government is throwing out candy to a crowd in a parade government is not supposed to be doing that that is somebody else’s money there’s no question about it yes any civilized culture any culture that respects natural law we honor our fellow man and if somebody is in a genuinely desperate situation single mothers with children, there are different kinds of desperate situations. And as a civilized people, as any culture who respects each other, we would take care of those people in a very difficult situation. But we have gone far, far past that, where we’re just stealing from this group of people and giving their money to someone else who didn’t earn it, who don’t own it, You know, they don’t deserve it, period. And so, no, I am in full agreement with you that it’s wrong. Government is excessive. What happened in New York yesterday is too sad to even describe. But it is happening in other areas of our country. I think President Trump is doing exactly the right thing in reducing the size of government. We should take care of ourselves. Social justice is every family feeding itself. Taking the initiative, working. Yes, go right ahead.
SPEAKER 18 :
Well, the dignity of work as well. And I was thinking about this. I found a headline regarding the food banks are ramping up here. Yeah. i i don’t want anybody to go hungry but if people are able-bodied i think there needs to be some trading value for value if you go to a food bank just looking for a handout and you’re able-bodied i think the food bank should say hey in uh help stock some shelves help sweep the floor do something i think that that there’s the dignity of work there’s the trading of value for value And as you mentioned, there are times when people fall on hard times. I had a friend that she’s since passed on, but she grew up in the Loveland area and she probably was in the 20s or the 30s. She said if somebody fell on hard times, they would have what was called a pound party where the neighbors all got together and they brought a pound of sugar or a pound of meat or a pound of flour to help the family get through that difficult time. But they never expected that family then to sit on the couch and cry. drink beer and play video games. They expected them to get out and do something to get out of those hard times. But they were there to help as a community, and they didn’t have bureaucrats that were making money as the money went by, ostensibly to get to somebody to help them. Your thoughts on that, Dr. LaPointe?
SPEAKER 17 :
Absolutely true. I think scripture says, if you don’t work, you don’t eat. Obviously, government cannot and is never supposed to be supporting every single individual for all of their needs. There is an intrusive, expansive situation with government in the United States. Yes, what you described there is the practice of natural law, where people would take care of themselves and the community, their neighbors. They watch out for each other. There’s no question about it. There’s that classic example of a farm community where a farmer’s barn burns down and the rest of the community comes together and they build that barn for that farmer free, just out of neighborliness and love and respect. That’s natural law in action. People taking the initiative, looking around, taking care of their neighbors and their loved ones, and especially their own families. Keeping everyone together. That is an example of natural law. Taking care of your neighbors and certainly of your own family. Government is not supposed to be expanding to the extent that they are. You know, I think one of the biggest, or I should say another adversary to natural law happens to be the breakdown of the family. you know, and I would say, uh, feminism has certainly contributed to that. No false divorce has contributed to that. And a predatory legal system has contributed to that. So, you know, I think we need to strengthen our families and we need to preserve them and our communities. Uh, and we should stop allowing the government to just trample over families the way they do. And, um, We need to honor our families and protect them. That is a core unit in the strength of any country, community. Absolutely. But you are correct. Not to go too far off here. You are absolutely right. That example of the pound party is excellent. That’s the practice of natural law.

And natural law, ultimately, well, I think that we really probably hit that where it comes from. But just reiterate that so that’s clear in people’s minds.
SPEAKER 17 :
Well, natural law is found or derived from the intelligibility of creation, especially in human nature. Natural law is an innate standard or a metric within human nature itself. we know intuitively that many human activities are just wrong, inherently wrong. But we also learn through education. We learn by example. But natural law is a kind of a perennial tradition where we establish laws moral rights, wrongs, what is good and bad through the observation of human nature. So natural law is based in human nature. So it is a science. Some people refer to natural law as a theory. I don’t like the word theory because look at a human being. Do they look like a theory to you? I don’t think so. It’s very much of a science. And so and it is the science of morality, the science of ethics broadly construed. And it includes natural rights. It includes a variety of modes of justice, whether it be commutative justice, distributive, legal, general justice. It is the standard by which civil government is judged, and that’s critically important. Government is not just what anyone says it ought to be. The legislature passes laws just because they say they want to do it or they think it’s a good idea. That is not the way it’s done. Civil law must conform to natural law, and if it does not, we are under no obligation to obey those laws. Those civil laws that don’t conform to natural law are invalid. And that’s very important to understand. These legislators, these judges need to bring their decisions and their legislation in conformity with natural law. So, but going even further, natural law includes the cardinal and intellectual virtues where people are called to improve themselves, to develop excellences within their person, to be better people, better husbands and wives, better citizens, better workers. So it includes the virtues, developing personal excellences. It goes on, it includes education. And the main word I would use in our modern society is realism versus anti-realism. Our universities have betrayed their students, and I shudder to say even our Catholic universities, and I happen to be Catholic, they should not be teaching this anti-realist philosophy. It causes fragmentation, disunity, incivility. It is a bad way to teach people because it’s wrong. Anti-realism is fiction. It’s flawed. It’s heresy, basically. So I would also draw attention to our educational system. They should be teaching realism or subjects that reflect realism. Other than that, it includes customs and traditions that must be healthy and bring about a flourishing contentment among people. We should have honorable, decent, genuinely good objectives and purposes in our lives, whether it be having to do with family or personal growth. or excelling in our jobs, or just being better at everything that we’re involved with. So natural law does cover a lot of real estate, so to speak. It’s a cornerstone subject, and it’s enormously important. I just cannot stress that enough. Natural law should be taught in grade school, high school, and really a mandatory subject in colleges. It’s that important. So modern society has scuttled natural law. Yes.
SPEAKER 18 :
Well, and Dr. Lapointe, this whole radical activism towards transgenderism against male female. That seems like that’s a direct affront upon natural law. And Jenny, one of our listeners, the text says this transgenderism seems like a total war on natural law. Your comments on that?
SPEAKER 17 :
Absolutely. There’s no question about it. A lot of it actually comes from the government or certain political groups. It also comes from Hollywood or entertainment. They encourage these things. They develop these things, nurture them. I think it generates income for certain people. It also generates votes for certain politicians. And then again, I would bring in our universities. So politics or certain politicians… Schools, Hollywood, they all encourage these kinds of divisions, these issues. Yes, I think transgenderism, although I don’t consider myself an expert on that specific subject, it certainly would fall into the category of an ideology. And it seems to me it would involve science, and it’s a personal matter. Why businesses or anyone else would be mandated to treat any individual person in a specified way, specified by government, is ridiculous. It’s a violation of my natural rights. And natural rights is a core part of natural law. And I should also mention that natural law really is a subset of natural theology, natural theology, natural law, natural rights. And my natural rights are infringed upon when government is telling me how I should speak to anyone, use these words, use those words, you know, and impugning me if I use my own words. own respectful words that i choose when referring to people it is a sad situation people who are genuinely confronted with with a medical issue a psychological issue they should seek professional help but don’t drag it into the political arena and start mandating this and that and etc it it is a problem uh no doubt about it but it’s a private matter and i think one for the scientists too
SPEAKER 18 :
Okay. Dr. LaPointe, this has been very fascinating. Dr. LaPointe is with the Center for Natural Law. We’ve got about a minute or so left. Who are some recommended natural law authors that you would recommend for people to research if they want to learn more about this?
SPEAKER 17 :
Well, one thing I would start off and answer that question is this. Always read philosophies that are realism, based in realism. Avoid anti-realist philosophers. The German idealists are taught in Catholic seminaries. That’s shameful. It’s ridiculous. Existentialism should be avoided. Phenomenology, deconstruction, structuralism, Marxism, those are all terrible anti-realist philosophies. So just… As a starter, avoid anti-realism. As far as who you should read, I noticed on your website you have what the Seen and Unseen by Frederick Basiat. I have The Law, so I would definitely recommend The Law. So, you know, A Course in Thomistic Ethics by McInerney is good. Jay Budachewski out of Austin University, he’s got a few books. Jay Budachewski, that is. There is a realistic philosophy. One of my favorites would be John Wilde. You certainly want to read anything on ontology. Lastly, I would mention Yves Simon is very good. Jacques Maritain, he’s very well known. And perhaps lastly, I’d say for a good intellectual workover of the subject, I would say John Lawrence Hill. His book is called After the Natural Law. Uh, that’s a very good one as well.

This headline, the Department of Justice wants ex-Mesa County Clerk Tina Peters moved to federal custody. after Trump calls for freedom. And it says here, President Donald Trump called for her to be freed. The Office of Deputy Attorney General, led by Todd Blanch, the second-in-command to Attorney General Pam Bondi, sent an email Wednesday evening to Bureau of Prisons. Director William Marshall, just the news had learned, calling on the BOP to look into how Peters could be moved from state prison into federal custody. And I’m not an expert on this, but if she is in federal custody, that means could there be… something federal on that, which would mean then Trump could pardon her. Although I don’t know if she really wants a pardon because I don’t think she’s, this is complicated. We’ll just put it that way. And it’s so interesting that last week I had a conversation with someone. I had attempted to try to get approved to go visit her and I ran into roadblocks and And so I kind of gave up. And one of the reasons I gave up is because when Tina has a visitor, apparently they do a strip search on her afterwards. I’m like, I don’t really want to be the cause of that. But the person that I talked to said, well, she’s kind of gotten used to it, which is just heartbreaking to me. So I thought, okay, I’m going to start this. In fact, it’s on my list of things to do today, and I’m going to continue that process. But it looks like there might be some movement. She should be out while she’s appealing this. There’s no reason she should be in prison. So we’re going to stay tuned on this and watch that. But these discussions happen because of our sponsors. Well, let’s see. Today’s the 5th, right? Three weeks. Six. Yes. If you’re a cash buyer, most definitely. If you’re financing, Lauren’s pretty good. He might be able to pull it off, but we can definitely get you in by Christmas.
SPEAKER 18 :
Okay. So talk to me about inventory. I’m seeing for sale signs out there. We had for years wrung our hands about no inventory, no inventory. There’s inventory and opportunity for people that are buying. A little pressure on prices, yes, because we had all of this run up of assessed valuation. So talk to me about that.
SPEAKER 08 :
Well, I think you have a pretty good handle on it. Yes, we saw a lot of appreciation over those COVID years. And we are now seeing pressure on those values because of inventory. Buyers have choice. So they have an opportunity to negotiate potentially more than they’ve had in over a decade. And it takes a little bit to find that seller that is as motivated to sell as the buyer is to buy. And buyers are finding, well, if… you know, you’re not willing to negotiate. I can jump to another house and see if that seller is more willing to negotiate. But we’re negotiating some, I think, very favorable transactions for both the buyer and the seller in that the seller is showing up at the closing table and receiving a nice equity check for the appreciation they have seen over the years. And the buyer’s getting a new house.
SPEAKER 18 :
Well, and so it’s good to have a professional on your side of the table, whether or not buying or selling or looking at a new build. And Karen Levine, I’ve known you for many years. I highly recommend you as that professional. So how can people reach you?

Good morning, Kim. Great to be on your show.
SPEAKER 18 :
Well, you have been working on something very important for our farmers and ranchers on the western slope. The people of Colorado ostensibly approved wolves being introduced west of the Continental Divide, which I thought was really amazing. The people in Boulder and Denver were voting to have predators introduced not in their neighborhood, but on the western slope. And it’s just raised havoc for our farmers and our ranchers and the deer and elk population. And it seems that Polis and his partner don’t care what’s happening with that. But you have uncovered something very important and have been working on it. So share this with us.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yes, Kim, you know, you’re absolutely right. You know, you have, once again, the urban corridor trying to tell rural Colorado how to live. And one of the things that I got involved in, because as you mentioned, I’m running for governor here in Colorado, and I was asked when I was up in the Western Slope if I would please look into this, because they really believed that CPW was not doing things correctly and they weren’t listening to the farmers and the ranchers as it pertains to the wolf kills. You know, I mean, people forget that these wolves hunt in packs. And so I looked into it. I studied not only the entire Colorado wolf restoration and management plan, and I looked at the 10-J rule, which is really the permit from the United States Fish and Wildlife Service, and I also reviewed the Endangered Species Act, and I concluded that CPW, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, are not following not only the Endangered Species Act in violation of the Endangered Species Act, but they’re also not even following their own plan. And so I wrote a letter. As you know, I used to be the director for the United States Small Business Administration, so I know the protocol. So I wrote a letter to the regional director for the United States Fish and Wildlife, also CC’d a lot of the congressmembers, and a lot of the groups and organizations here in Colorado, and told them that I believed that CPW had violated the Endangered Species Act by importing wolves from Canada into the United States and then moving them to Colorado. And after about three to four weeks, a letter did show up to the state of Colorado telling them that they could not bring in wolves from Canada or Alaska, that they must honor the permit that they received to bring wolves in from the northern Rocky Mountain area. And so for now, there will be no wolves coming in from Canada or Alaska. And I’m hearing that the state of Colorado is struggling, trying to find states that will allow them to go and capture wolves and bring them to Colorado.
SPEAKER 18 :
What states could they go to to capture wolves to bring them here?
SPEAKER 06 :
You know, they could go to Oregon. They could go to Washington. They could go to Michigan, Wyoming. It’s all up in the northern Rockies. But those states have struggled. with the predation, which predation means the wolves are killing cattle or sheep, and so they’re struggling in managing them. So those states rightfully have said, we’re not going to allow you to create a problem in your state. A lot of people don’t understand that Colorado is heavily populated. They think there’s a lot of open space up in the mountains and in public lands, and that’s not necessarily true. There’s a lot of cattle that is up there, and that’s the livelihood of all the people that live in the Western Slope.
SPEAKER 18 :
So you mentioned Michigan. You said the Western states such as Oregon, Wyoming, and Washington, but you mentioned Michigan as well as a state that has wolves. I didn’t realize that.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah, they do. And they all migrated, right? They all migrated down from Canada. So these are wolves that, you know, they’re territorial, so they just start moving. And so, yes, they’ve had those wolves there. And so, you know, the permit is very clear where Colorado can get wolves from. One of the things, Kim, that a lot of people misunderstand is that the Colorado Parks and Wildlife is, has no real authority in dealing with the endangered species that falls under the federal government and so the federal government has declared uh colorado parks and wildlife as a designated agent so they’re an extension of the agency as it pertains to the wolf here in colorado the agency itself never had any plans because they realize that it’s overpopulated They never had any plans to bring the Endangered Species Act or the wolf here to Colorado. And that’s why they call it a non-essential experimental population. And what that means is that whether the wolf survives in Colorado or not will not have any impact. on the survival of the wolf as it pertains in the United States. And so that’s why they call it nonessential. And it is an experiment. It’s not like it’s something that the federal government believes needs to occur in the state of Colorado.
SPEAKER 18 :
So what’s, you said, so this has stopped the introduction of wolves into Colorado. Is that right?
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah, for right now, because they were going to go, listen to this, Colorado was going to once again go to Canada and get more wolves. Even though I had put the agency in notice that I believe that was inappropriate because that’s in violation of the Endangered Species Act, well… When the director found out about it out of Wyoming, he’s the director for the United States Fish and Wildlife Service, which falls under the Department of Interior. When he found out about it through my letter, he said, no, you cannot bring wolves in from Canada, and you cannot bring in wolves from Alaska. You must stay within the parameters of the permit by which we gave you. And those are the states that are telling Colorado right now, We’re not interested in giving you or allowing you to come in and capture wolves in our states and then take them back to Colorado. So my hope is that we will have a pause. That’s what I requested was at least a one-year pause so that we could reevaluate what’s going on and actually learn how to manage the wolves. And right now, everything that Colorado Parks and Wildlife have done has proven to me that they are not competent enough to manage a wolf correctly to minimize the conflict between our cattle producers and the wolf itself. And so right now, there is no thoughts of where the new wolves will come in from to put back into Colorado.
SPEAKER 18 :
Okay, so this is a huge development then. And I think I’d also heard, Greg, that the program of this wolf introduction was way over budget. Is that something that you’ve seen? Have you looked into that at all?
SPEAKER 06 :
Oh, yes. You know, when you look at when they first started, submitted a budget colorado parks and wildlife uh through the legislation when they were putting it in they said it would cost about three hundred thousand dollars maybe up to eight hundred thousand uh to manage this program well we’re now at eight million eight million dollars is what it’s cost over the last two and a half years for the wolf to be brought into colorado and that includes all the new employees that they have to hire All the new equipment that they had to buy, you know, there’s flaggery and all this type of stuff that Colleen will train the wolf not to attack cattle. You know, having to go out and actually capture the wolf and bring them in. You know, all those expenses. And they plan, listen to this, they hope that they can have within the next eight to ten years close to 200 wolves. in Colorado that are self-sustaining population. That’s going to hurt our hunting industry, our fishing industry, our outdoor industry. Because when you run into these wolves, there’s nothing that you can do. And to your point, Kim, they’re starting to go into Boulder County. They’re starting to go in Jefferson County. Now they’re down in Alamosa and Conecos County. These wolves have no idea that They’re supposed to stay on the western slope.
SPEAKER 18 :
They’re moving. And they will move to food sources for sure. We’re going to continue the discussion. This is so important regarding the depredation of our livestock and deer and elk populations by these wolves being introduced into Colorado. And what Greg Lopez has uncovered is that it’s not in compliance with the Endangered Species Act. I’m talking with former Congressman Greg Lopez. He is a candidate for governor. which that election will be in 2026. But he, I think probably from his experience in Congress, figured out he needed to check on some things regarding this wolf reintroduction in Colorado. He talked with farmers and ranchers that are concerned about it. Greg, I have this Newsweek piece that was published in March of 2025, and it says just what you said. The Colorado wolf map shows that predators are expanding their territory. And I had been someplace and ended up talking with a couple of people, and somehow the subject of wolves came up, and they said, well, we’re wolf people. But we are a little concerned about backpacking. And I’m like, yeah, I think that would be a problem. And so even those in Boulder and Denver who voted for, ostensibly who voted for this introduction of the wolves, I don’t think they had thought about what the consequences might mean for their particular lifestyles.
SPEAKER 06 :
No, you’re absolutely right, Ken. Look, you know, on its surface, right, it sounds really cool. It sounds really great that you’ll be able to hear the wolf howl at night, you know. But to your point, you know, they don’t fully understand the totality of how this wolf is going to impact the economic livelihood of all those small businesses up in the mountains, all those outfitters, all the hunters. Everything that goes with our recreational outdoor activity is going to be negatively impacted because of this apex predator. And they’re multiplying. And so there’s a lot that’s going on. And one of the things, and I’m going to get confirmation in the next couple of days, Kim, but the other concern that was just brought to my attention is that some of the wolves that were brought in from Canada, and there were 15 of them, They’ve taken some scat samples, and in those samples, they’re finding evidence of a tapeworm. And this tapeworm, as you know, other animals will eat some of the scat, and so there’s concern that it’s going to negatively decimate the elk population, the mule deer population, because this tapeworm is very intrusive, And it spreads quickly. And yet, as I read the documents, the only thing that CPW has done when they bring in wolves in, they do a heartworm test. That’s it. And they release them within 24 hours from being captured. That’s what they call a hard release. And so there really is no mechanism that TPW is utilizing to prevent this tapeworm from spreading. And it could go into pets, dogs. Heaven forbid it should go into kids when they’re playing with their own dogs. But there’s a lot that’s still going on, and there’s more to be uncovered.
SPEAKER 18 :
Okay, so first thing is to hit pause, which it looks like you’ve accomplished that. What about getting rid of the wolves? Is there any chance to do that, or does that go over to the governor’s race?
SPEAKER 06 :
No, you know, I think what we can do, right, is keep working with the United States Fish and Wildlife Service, because remember, Colorado CPW is an extension of the agency. If the agency, the federal agency determines that this experiment is a failure, it will not work. There’s no way to have the wolf and people coexist without a lot of depredation that hurts the economy. It is the United States Fish and Wildlife Service that can pull the permits And then there will be no wolf allowed in the state of Colorado, regardless of what the people voted. Because you have to remember this, Kim, and I find it very interesting. You have people that say, well, we voted, it should happen. And at the end of the day, when we voted in marijuana in the state of Colorado, it is still illegal in the federal government. And so Colorado told the federal government, pretty much, you know, stick it in your ear, we’re going to do it. Now with the wolf, the federal government could tell the same thing to the state of Colorado, stick it in your ear, because we’re responsible for the Endangered Species Act, not you. And even though you voted for it, that’s not something we as a government, federal government, need to adhere to. So that’s why it’s called a non-essential experimental population. So I’m going to continue to work with Congress. I’m going to continue to work with the House to make sure that we truly are doing the management of the wolf correctly. But all indications right now show that it’s not going to be able to cohabitate here in Colorado.
SPEAKER 18 :
Okay, and the margin on that, I think, was 51% in favor. So just keep that number in your brain as we are looking at what’s happening regarding our elections in Colorado. Changing subjects, Greg Lopez, you are a candidate for governor on the Republican side. It is a very vast and large field of candidates right now for governor. So tell us about that.
SPEAKER 06 :
Well, you know what? Yes, I’m seeking the nomination to be the Republican candidate to go up against a Democrat candidate for governor. I can tell you, I’m in Buena Vista right now. I’m heading to Montrose, out into the Western Slope for the next three days, talking to people and so forth. But, you know, there’s a lot of people that have thrown their name in, at least submitted their name. But a lot of people need to understand that we’re all trying to get onto the ballot. The primary will be June 30th. I anticipate there’ll be maybe definitely three on the primary ballot, three Republican candidates. Maybe four. I will be one of them. But all these other candidates, potential candidates, are not going to make it onto the ballot for people to actually vote for them in a primary election. But you know what? It’s always good to have people out there talking about the concerns and the interests. Colorado has truly lost its way. We all know that. We’re in a crisis, and it needs to be corrected. And we don’t need it to go back into the same hands with the same worldview that we’ve had for the last eight years.
SPEAKER 18 :
Well, Greg, as you know, I moderated a forum of GOP gubernatorial candidates a few weeks ago, and 12 of the currently 18 were there. As I was doing some research on the Democrat side, Between Bennett and Phil Weiser, who are the two announced candidates, Senator Bennett and Attorney General Phil Weiser, they have over $6 million. Combined, at that time, our candidates had, I think, $400,000 or something like that. How will you address this money discrepancy? Because money talks in politics.
SPEAKER 06 :
It does. Look, you can see every Republican candidate is struggling because too many people believe Colorado is a Democrat state. They truly do not see it as a purple state, and they don’t see it as a Republican being able to actually win with the messaging that they’re hearing. And so you have to remember, President Trump didn’t win Colorado. He lost it by 11 points. And so not only do we have to overcome the stigma of the fact that a lot of people believe Colorado is a lost cause as it pertains to the Republican mindset, but we also have to make sure that people understand that we are here for the people. The thing that’s different for me from all the other candidates is that as the nominee winning the nomination in june and going into the general there’ll be a lot of money coming into colorado because the narrative is going to be kim a united states sitting united states senator against a republican former house representative from congress and you’re going to have a real david and goliath But I’m going to tell you the Hispanic community, the black community, the minority communities, they all reaching out to me and I’m having conversations with them. And they’re like, you just need to win your primary. because we want to see a different governor. And we know who you are because of your time at the SBA, Small Business Administration, the Denver Chamber of Commerce, your involvement with the Martin Luther King activities. And so I’m just a different type of Republican candidate that understands how to connect with all voters.
SPEAKER 18 :

Okay, one other question, Greg Lopez, and that is the Colorado Republican Party, there’s a lot of infighting right now. How do you address that?
SPEAKER 06 :
Well, you know, Kim, unfortunately, you’re absolutely correct. Everywhere I travel, everybody I talk to, everybody recognizes that. You know, so what I’m hoping to do is work more closely with counties, the county chairs, make work closely with the grassroots, the ones that are out there door knocking, until the state party really stops being the Hatfields and McCoys, I think we’re going to have that struggle, that tug of war for the next couple of years. I’m trying to convince him to understand that we have one goal, and that is not to decide who’s going to. control the state party. Our goal is who’s going to control the state of Colorado, which has the impact on the daily lives of every family. So that’s really what the need of focusing on is controlling who, winning to control the state, not winning to control the state party.
SPEAKER 18 :
Well, and just drilling down on that word control, ultimately, when you have the powers of government, I really want to move Colorado and reclaim Colorado as the state of that rugged individualism with representative government. That’s the kind of control that I’d like to see, Greg.
SPEAKER 06 :
No, I totally agree with you. And control means to me it’s controlling the opposition so that they are not interfering with our rights and our liberties. You know, it’s not controlling the people. It’s controlling that other beast out there. that believes government is the solution for all of our problems. But Colorado, when you look at the history of not only our nation, but Colorado, it is about true grit. It is about overcoming challenges and understanding that you can create your own destiny. You can create your own American dream by working hard, staying focused. And most importantly, if government stays out of your way and stays out of your pocketbook, then you have more money to be able to achieve what you want to achieve. That’s really the American dream. And that’s what I’m going to push for. It’s people over politics. And I’m going to govern with do no harm type of agenda. We’re not going to harm anybody. We’re going to make sure everybody has the same opportunity to be successful, protect their families, provide for their families, and have a bright future. That’s what Colorado is thirsting for, is a bright future.

It says, the realtors’ phones are ringing off the hook as panicked New Yorkers ditch coveted area codes to flee the Mamdani housing chaos. Yes. We can see that actually public policy can be an assault upon property rights. When we talk with Karen Levine on a regular basis, many times your home can be one of your biggest assets, and to have public policy uh and we are even seeing that here in colorado as well there are some communities that uh in fact lakewood you can see that that that because of public policy there that ultimately i think people will be moving from where they are in lakewood in fact i’ve i’d heard of one particular example on that i also we had gotten a um A message from one of our listeners said that Fort Collins has been taken over by Democrat socialists from city council to the Poudre School District. These elections so matter. And we’ve got to work on our messaging. I think people, what has happened, though, I think the strategy has been to just create so much noise, so much confusion, make people think that their votes don’t matter. They’re busy living their lives. They think that public policy probably doesn’t really affect them. But what we’re seeing in New York is people are realizing that, oh, yes, it really does affect people. things that are going on. And of course, when people start to flood the market with houses for sale, that will decrease the value of that. But people are really scared about what is going to happen under this Democrat socialist, really espousing communistic views of a society, there’s no way that you can have government-run grocery stores. I think it was Milton Friedman said that if you put government in charge of the Sahara Desert, in a few years, they’re going to be out of sand. And so what’s going to happen, there’s going to be food shortages. out there with what’s going on. So this is really of great concern of what this is doing to the property values of New Yorkers as they want to flee New York City because of this socialist mayor. Joe, I think you said we have a listener, yes? Kathleen in Boulder is on the line. Kathleen, what’s on your radar?
SPEAKER 07 :
What’s on my radar is this Democrat socialist in New York, we are all afraid of him. In 1969 onwards, all of these young men were drafted to go to Vietnam to fight communism. And now look what’s happened. Communism is in our country.
SPEAKER 18 :
Boy, that’s a really good point. And that was the narrative that was out there was to prevent Southeast Asia from all these countries falling to communism. And we spent a lot of blood and treasure to try to keep communism at bay. And Kathleen, what is crazy is that people are voting for this. And I think it’s reflective of these very lax immigration policies. I think that is one of the problems with this, is people are voting for where they came from. And I think that that’s been a strategy by the radical activists that have taken over the Democrat Party. Your thoughts, Kathleen?
SPEAKER 07 :
Yes, I believe so. Because when I just observe on television or You know, in these gatherings here and there, I think, wow, our country has changed and is changing. And I think of all of the men who died in Vietnam for what?
SPEAKER 18 :
Well, and so with that, Kathleen, we cannot let that service and those lives be in vain. And that is why we have to engage in this battle of ideas that is raging right now. This is our 1775 moment. And when I say at the beginning of the show that we were made for this moment, I’m not kidding. We were made for this moment. We have a duty because of those before us and those that are coming after us to preserve this American idea. It’s no longer Democrat or Republican. As I talked with Karen Gorday in the first hour, I think that when we start to talk to people, we say just say it’s not Democrat or Republican. It’s, do you believe that all men are created equal and have rights from God of life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness? I think the answer is yes or no. Kathleen, any other thoughts on this?
SPEAKER 07 :
No, I just cannot listen to the news at the end of the day talking about this communist in New York. I cannot believe that. I just cannot believe that.
SPEAKER 18 :
It is difficult to believe, but we are engaged in this huge battle of ideas. Kathleen and Boulder, thank you so much for calling in. The text line is 720-605-0647. But it goes back to this postmodernism where even if you go back to the 60s and 70s, where They said, I remember this. You have your truth. I have my truth. And then you move from there to you get to this point in our country where they’re saying a boy can be a girl, a girl can be a boy, and they’re teaching that in our schools as well. We’ve got to turn the spigot off on all of this money that we are paying to… pay people that want to destroy our country and many i’m i’m super encouraged though my friends people are stepping up they’re engaged and then the other thing we’ve really got to work and make sure that our elections are safe secure and transparent And if you have had any, if you saw anything that you thought was funny about the elections, text me at 720-605-0647.
