Kim Munson shares her unwavering views on political integrity and the misinterpretation of terms like ‘altruism’ by the radical left. Through candid dialogue, she welcomes Colorado House District 16 Representative Rebecca Kelty, discussing the tenacity required to protect Second Amendment rights amid a flurry of legislative challenges. Dive deep into the role of transparency in governance, voter responsibility, and how ordinary citizens can stand up against political machinations.
SPEAKER 02 :
It’s the Kim Munson Show, analyzing the most important stories.
SPEAKER 04 :
The socialization of transportation, education, energy, housing, and water. What it means is that government controls it through rules and regulations.
SPEAKER 02 :
The latest in politics and world affairs.
SPEAKER 04 :
Under this guise of bipartisanship and nonpartisanship, it’s actually tapping down the truth.
SPEAKER 02 :
Today’s current opinions and ideas.
SPEAKER 04 :
On an equal field in the battle of ideas, mistruths and misconceptions is getting us into a world of hurt.
SPEAKER 02 :
Is it freedom or is it force? Let’s have a conversation.
SPEAKER 04 :
indeed let’s have a conversation and welcome to the kim munson show thank you so much for joining us you’re each treasured you’re valued you have purpose today strive for excellence take care of your heart your soul your mind and your body my friends we were made for this moment in history and thank you to the team that’s producer joe luke rachel zach echo charlie mike theresa amanda all the people here at crawford broadcasting happy monday producer joe happy monday kim Thank you so much for having me. And we search for truth and clarity by looking at these issues through the lens of freedom versus force, force versus freedom. If something’s a good idea, you should not have to force people to do it. And my friends, it’s never compassionate to take other people’s stuff, whether or not it’s their rights, their property, freedom, livelihoods, opportunities. their childhoods or their lives via force. And force could be a weapon, but it could be unpredictable and excessive taxation, fear, coercion, government-induced inflation, this World Economic Forum’s agenda played out by the globalist elites, the United Nations. This Colorado State Legislature, the Colorado Governor, land use code, zoning regulations, forest fees, conservation easements, national monument designations, and we need to make this list become much, much smaller. So we’re going to keep working on that. And remember, if something’s a good idea, you should not have to use force to implement it. And on the show, we focus on issues and not people or personalities. Well, not the personalities. We try to talk about the people that are pushing these issues, but we want to stay focused on that. So that is our goal. You can hear the show 6 to 8 a.m. Monday through Friday. And the first hour is rebroadcast 1 to 2 in the afternoon. Second hour, 10 to 11 at night. And that is on all KLZ 560 platforms. That’s KLZ 560 AM, KLZ 100.7 FM, the KLZ website, and the KLZ app. And so that’s where you can find us. And let’s see. Let’s jump in here. First thing is… is I am going to be moderating this evening, and I want to get to all of this for you, a forum with the candidates for the state GOP race, and this will be at 7 o’clock tonight. You should be able to stream it by going to Facebook, The Real America’s Mom, or it’s supposed to also be on X America News. And try to get a little bit more information on that, but that will be live streamed this evening. And that will be at 7 o’clock tonight, and I’ll continue to give you more information on that as well. So let’s see. Our word of the day, I want to go ahead and jump into everything that we have today. to get done today and the first I chose the word altruistic and Brad Beck and I have both become very uncomfortable with this word because the radical left or the left has used the word altruism to use government to take money from one person to give to another But the word altruism is A-L-T-R-U-I-S-M, and I should probably go and get my written dictionaries. I’ll have to check that out. I’ll make a note to myself on that because this is what the Internet says. It says, unselfish concern for the welfare of others or selflessness. Okay, but that doesn’t mean that you’re unselfish with other people’s money. Number two, it could be instinctive behavior that is detrimental to the individual but favors the survival of spread of that individual’s genes as by benefiting its relatives. Okay. Number three, regard for others, both natural and moral, devotion to the interests of others, brotherly kindness opposed to egoism and selfishness. So that was from the American Heritage Dictionary. And I’m going to check that out with written dictionaries as well. But the word altruism could be a good word, except it’s been used to push forward taking from one person to give to another, and that’s not altruistic whatsoever. Our quote of the day, I went to Thomas Aquinas. He was an Italian Dominican friar and priest, the foremost scholastic thinker, as well as one of the most influential philosophers and theologians in the Western tradition. And he was from the county of Aquino in the kingdom of Sicily. He was born in 1225. He died in 1274. And this will, I think, really go into, I think it’s effective for our subject in the second hour with Juliana Day and Dr. Catherine Wheeler and Dr. Tom Perel regarding abortion in Colorado. But this is Thomas Aquinas’ quote. He said this, When there is just cause for anger is immoral. Why? Because anger looks to the good of justice. And if you can live amid injustice without anger, you are immoral as well as unjust. And that is a Thomas Aquinas. Wow. So next thing, we’re going to talk with Rebecca Kelty in this second segment. She is a Colorado House District 16 representative. And Senate Bill 003 was heard in the House on Friday. It went quite long. GAMI kept me in the loop on what was happening with so much of that. And that is the magazine bill. I’m sure that it is headed towards the courts on this, but several things. There are other bills out there regarding taking away our Second Amendment rights. I think the strategy has been to put so much attention over here onto this particular bill that we’re not paying attention to some of the other things as well. Then, of course, this will go to court. But what that means is that the government has lots of resources, our resources, to hire their attorneys. But those that want to stand for our Second Amendment rights have to use their resources to fight this in court. And so that’s why I think that it’s a bit of a strategy. And down at the Statehouse, they are flooding the zone at this particular point in time. There’s 558 bills that have been introduced or bills or resolutions that have been introduced. And at this particular point in time, the Colorado Union of Taxpayers has rated 213. We’ll add another four onto that today. And we would really love to have you join us at the Colorado Union of Taxpayers. That way you will get the email. that we send out on Mondays to the legislators and the governor. Keeps you informed on what’s happening down at the statehouse. That is the first step to know what’s going on, is to be informed. And so join us. It’s only $25. You can go to coloradotaxpayer.org. dot org to do that and uh… i want to say thank you to this team it’s uh… of the about the board members that go through and take positions on these bills and that is steve dorman greg goliansky russ haas bill hamill rob caduce john nelson wendy warner marty nielsen ramey johnson mary jansen dave evans corey on his org paula beard and ray beard when you see these people out there be sure and say thank you to them because they are doing amazing work And again, that’s they’re all volunteers to make this to make all this happen. Just a few very interesting headlines that I wanted to mention. And the first is, is the Denver mayor and his staff used encryption services while they were going through all of this discussion regarding the migrant crisis. And then they auto deleted those messages and They said the Trump policies precipitated this move. But I don’t think that that’s very transparent. And so, again, I think that’s pretty interesting. The Denver mayor and staff use encryption app to discuss migrant crisis. Then they auto delete the messages and not very transparent. I guess that’s the word that I was looking for. Second thing, second headline is we had Peter Berninger on a few weeks ago. He has really uncovered this. It’s called Smurfing. And Sherry Pife over at Complete Colorado just recently published this piece. It says Colorado woman’s 57,000 plus ActBlue donations raise eyebrows. It says a Larimer County woman has found herself part of a nationwide investigation into an alleged smurfing campaign by ActBlue, which was the online fundraising platform for Democrat candidates themselves. progressive organizations, and nonprofits. In a report by the American Spectator, Sonia Emash of Fort Collins is shown to have donated $234,441 over a period of six years and two months in 57,138 separate Act Blue contributions under five different versions of her name, averaging out to $4.10 per donation. Smurfing is a form of identity theft that uses the names of legitimate political donors to report numerous small donations repeatedly without their knowledge in order to hide larger donations that exceed legal limits or from donors who do not want their name on campaign finance reports. By law, all political contributions must be reported to the FEC, the Federal Election Commission. Complete Colorado reached out to Amash to determine if she had, in fact, made the more than 57,000 separate ActBlue donations but had not heard back from her at press time. They will update that story. It says Amash’s public Facebook post indicates she’s politically active, having organized several fundraisers for progressive ideals. A search for Amash on the Colorado Tracer platform, which tracks Colorado political donations, shows that since 1998, she has given about $15,500 over $850 for different donations. Stay tuned on this. Peter Bernager with Wisconsin Center for Election Justice has really been the one that has uncovered this. And as you know, we all came together. We raised the money for him to file a lawsuit against Well, Wisconsin Center for Election Justice, which has been filed here in Colorado. As of Election Day, a very targeted list showed 14,500 people that should not have even received ballots voted in Colorado. And that is the basis for one of our lawsuits. So stay tuned on all of that. We have these discussions because of our great sponsors. She won this race by a razor-thin margin. It had to have a recount, but we are really blessed to have her down at the Statehouse. Rebecca Kelty, welcome to the show. She is the representative for Colorado House District 16. Welcome.
SPEAKER 06 :
Good morning, Kim, and thank you very much for having me on today. I appreciate you and everybody else.
SPEAKER 04 :
Well, good to have you. And Senate Bill 003 was heard, let’s see, it was on the House floor, wasn’t it, on Friday, and it was a long, long ordeal. Give us an update. What happened?
SPEAKER 06 :
So basically we fought that bill for well over 13 hours. They limited our speech. They basically threatened us that if we didn’t stop talking about the bill by a certain time that they would have us come in on Saturday and then pass the bill anyways and then pass about another 20, 25 other bills and then also refuse to allow us to speak or even fight any of those bills. So it was just a task of theirs to get us to stop talking about it so they could go home. And I’m fine coming on the weekend. I’ll fight all day long. But it was their way of saying, well, they wanted to spend time with their family on the weekend. And if we don’t shut down our seats, which is what they did, then they were going to make us pay and forbid us, ban us from actually fighting against other crazy bills that they were going to cram through on Saturday and Sunday.
SPEAKER 04 :
So I didn’t realize that that’s the way government is supposed to work is special agendas and through threats. I didn’t realize that.
SPEAKER 06 :
That’s the way they work. And honestly, because there’s only 22 of us, they are the majority. So they can do and pull whatever whatever schemes they want. So basically, Senate Bill 003 is going to be on the floor today. We’re going to fight it for they’re limiting us again to only three hours to fight it. And we’re going to give it everything we’ve got. I mean, we’ve tried everything to tell them about the unconstitutionality of it, how it’s an unfunded mandate, how it’s going to cost the state between $5 million and possibly lose $27 million from the federal government, which will come out of Parks and Wildlife. I mean, the people really need to know what these people are doing and the 22 Republicans that are fighting with our very last breath against everything, the tyrannical agenda that they have. So are you 22? Are you all pretty united in this? We are. We were very upset over the fact that they were limiting our speech. Some of us didn’t want to, but then I mean, what do you do when they say, well, if you don’t stop talking, then we’re going to put, you know, 20, 25 more crazy bills through, and we’re going to forbid you, ban you from even talking about it. So it’s like, what do we do for the good of the people? I mean, it’s hard to—it’s like juggling cats up there. It is hard. We need more Republicans elected. We don’t need—we need 11 more Republicans to get elected this next election. We have to.
SPEAKER 04 :
Well, and that’s why I’m doing all the work that I’m doing over here, Rebecca Kelty, regarding our election integrity. And it’s a bit of a process, but we have our two lawsuits filed. And then I’m morphing our Colorado Election 2024 project into Reclaim Colorado 2025-2026. And so people stay tuned on that. But we’re going to reclaim this state. And I do not believe that the people of Colorado are really voting. I just can’t believe that they’re voting for this. So that’s a different discussion for sure. Rebecca, what I also see with the Colorado Union of Taxpayers, as we are watching all of this legislation, is – and I had asked our – our technology person to give me some key words if they have the words in them and one of those is firearms and there’s 22 bills down there with the word firearms in there and i’m a bit concerned that while we’re all focused on this zero zero three that they’re actually they are also pushing through other bills that we’re not paying as much attention to because they’re flooding the zone to take away our second amendment rights are you seeing that as well
SPEAKER 06 :
Absolutely. And that’s their MO. That’s how they do things. And the way they word the bills, it’s like, oh, it’s for safety. No, it has nothing to do with safety at all. Matter of fact, it’s making Colorado more unsafe. We’re already the third most dangerous state in the union. In the entire United States, we’re number three for the violent crime. And since they have taken over, since 2016, since they have taken over, this state has just been dismantled. And our rights and freedoms are being literally driven into the ground. It’s so hard. Kim, I have a front row seat to watching our freedoms and our rights just being just stripped away from us every single day. And it’s so frustrating, I tell you. And we fight them. And these other bills, like you mentioned, these other bills are sneaking through and the people aren’t saying, we’re saying it, we’re fighting it. And that’s why we could not
SPEAKER 04 :
give them the the right to ban our speech on 20 other bills i mean it’s insane i we’re trying we’re doing giving all we got for you guys well and i really really do appreciate that so we’re over halfway through and the legislature the legislature quote is a complete or this finishes up what right around may 8th or so correct right around that date I think it’s May 6th. Is it May 6th? Okay. What’s your ear to the ground? What are you hearing about this last run? Are they going to be bringing out a whole bunch of other really bad bills? Or what’s your ear to the ground say?
SPEAKER 06 :
I expect nothing less. That’s all I’ve seen since I’ve been in there. And, you know, sitting in the committees and just seeing the experts come up and families come up and, you know, from our DAs, commissioners to, you know, just everyone who is an expert in the mental health field and talking against so many of their bills. And they literally – we actually have video of them playing – On their tablets and buying things on Amazon and doing coloring books, they pay no attention. They have their marching orders of what to vote on, and they just do what they’re told. They don’t care about what the people want.
SPEAKER 04 :
Actually, Gammy sent something over as well. This was one of the representatives that they have a picture of her, and she, during this very important debate regarding our Constitution and our Second Amendment rights, is playing some game on her computer. And I think that’s pretty evident. They really don’t care.
SPEAKER 06 :
So they don’t. They do not care. They do not listen. I mean, we talk, you know, logic and common sense and throw data and facts at them all day long. And they really just don’t care. They really don’t. And it’s such a shame, too, because this is such a beautiful state. And I hate seeing it slip away.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah. Well, I appreciate it. So as I’m watching this, it wears on me somewhat as I watch all these bills as president of the Colorado Union of Taxpayers. And when I say it wears on me, it’s just the onslaught of all of these bills. And I’m just a volunteer. I’m not down there every day like you guys are. So tell me what today looks like for you. It’s early in the morning. Were you in Colorado Springs? Are you driving up? And then how long do you expect to be there? What does this day look like for you, Rebecca Kelty?
SPEAKER 1 :
Today?
SPEAKER 06 :
Well, today I’ll be driving up as soon as I get off the phone and I prepare myself for the fight against 003 for the measly little three hours they’re going to give us. And then from my understand, that’s the only bill that we’re seeing today. I don’t have committee today. I have it the rest of the week. But for them, they’ll be in education. They’ll be in ag. They’ll be in the other areas where, you know, the Republicans are being blamed all the time. We had a protest with the teachers union at the Capitol. We’re getting blamed for, you know, not not funding education and taking money from here and doing what people need to understand. We’re not in control. The Democrats are in control. So if you’re upset that things are not getting funded, like early childhood education and they and, you know, the the care facilities and stuff like that, and senior citizens, don’t blame us. Put your finger right where it belongs, and it’s at the Democrats. And that’s what they fight every day, even in education. I mean, I don’t know if you saw the bill about them wanting to strip down first-degree murder for someone who goes into a school or a grocery store and sprays it with bullets and just by chance, by luck, doesn’t hit anyone. They want to lower that to basically someone who will just get probation. I did not see that bill. That one’s a fun one. Yeah, they put that one on hold because they knew it may not pass. So now what they’ll do, they’ll bring it back. They won’t allow public testimony. And then they’ll swap out the people who are going to vote it down with people who will vote it through, and it’ll go through.
SPEAKER 08 :
Okay.
SPEAKER 06 :
That’s exactly what – it’s a game they play.
SPEAKER 04 :
So, Rebecca, how does this conversation go? Does the Democrat leadership – have this conversation with the Republican leadership, and then that comes back to you guys and you’re told, you know, they’re going to do this if you don’t do this, or how does that, what does that conversation look like?
SPEAKER 06 :
That’s exactly correct. Their leadership will basically dictate to our leadership what will and will not be done. And if you don’t do this, we will punish you. And in our leadership, we’ve got great leadership up there. Rose is doing a great job. Rep Armagas, Rep Hartsook, Rep Winner, they’re trying as hard as they can, but they’re literally backed against the wall. But they keep swinging, but they’re still back against that wall. They have the power, and we need to take it back, Kim.
SPEAKER 04 :
Well, and elections is the place that we need to do that. And I did just have a listener that texted this in. Why don’t we completely get rid of the current voter rolls and start over? Everyone wants to shall re-register in an entirely new voter roll. I think that is an excellent point, and we will continue to talk about that. Rebecca Kelty, thank you so much. Your final thought, Representative Kelty.
SPEAKER 06 :
My final thought is to get people engaged, pay attention, look at the bills, read them over, go to the Capitol, write these Democrats, you know, come up there and talk to them in person. You know, don’t let them ignore you and vote for heaven’s sakes in November 2026. Get out there. I don’t care if you don’t think it matters. Just get out there and do it. Get it done.
SPEAKER 04 :
Rebecca Kelty, Representative Kelty, thank you so much. Our prayers are with you and your complete team, and thank you. Thank you. I appreciate you every day, Kim. Thank you, Representative Kelty. SPEAKER 09 :
Well, good morning, Kim. It’s a pleasure to be here.
SPEAKER 04 :
Well, it’s great to have you. And my first question is Chuck Schumer. There’s been reports he’s on his way out, but it sounds like he doesn’t want to go. So what’s going on with that?
SPEAKER 09 :
Yeah, and he has this stunned look on his face when he’s asked, you know, should you leave? That stunned anybody would ask him that question. I don’t know that he’s not going to survive this, but boy. This should be a lesson for Chuck Schumer and a lot of other people in the Democratic Party that freedom of speech means everybody gets to speak their mind, and they don’t have to toe the line, if you will, of the far-left radicals that seem to be determined to take the Democratic Party down this road that they’re headed.
SPEAKER 04 :
Well, so set this up for us. What is the big beef now that the Democrats have with Chuck Schumer?
SPEAKER 09 :
Well, it’s not all of the Democrats. It’s probably a fair majority of them. They wanted to shut the government down in order to hamper President Donald Trump’s agenda. They do not want him to continue with Doge, especially. That’s what they’re really most concerned about. And many of them thought, you know, hey, listen, if we can delay him and shut the government down, you know, come November 2026, nobody will remember that we were the ones that shut it down. And who knows, maybe we can completely cripple the Trump administration. That’s bad reasoning, and it’s based on a bad understanding of American political system and history, but I think that’s probably a pretty concise summary of their thinking.
SPEAKER 04 :
Well, it seemed like he was headed down that. It seemed like he was taking a hard line regarding Trump. But within 24 hours, he changed his mind. I thought, this is interesting. Do they have something on him? Is Trump that great of a negotiator? Or what happened?
SPEAKER 09 :
Well, I don’t have direct knowledge of conversations between Schumer and Trump. But my guess is, and this was the first thing that I started hearing from people, speculating about in Congress, was one way or the other, Chuck Schumer suddenly realized, wait a minute, if we shut the government down, then the procedure is all of the employees, federal workers who are non-essential, and that is an official classification, they go home. And what do we do if Trump says, oh my gosh, here’s all these non-essential people, why aren’t we paying them all this money, and fires them? And it could have been a total disaster for Scherer. I’m confident that it would have been. And I think that gave him a sudden reintroduction to reality. And he said, wait a minute, we’ve got to pull back from this.
SPEAKER 04 :
I remember, so Mark Tapscott, I was in Washington DC for the inauguration of Trump. And I remember Schumer, I guess I don’t remember exactly where the speech was or where it was exactly. But in response to Trump’s inauguration, I felt that Schumer was belligerent and really disrespectful.
SPEAKER 09 :
And you were not alone in that.
SPEAKER 04 :
OK. And then when he was on the steps of the Supreme Court threatening the justices, I thought that that was mind boggling to me.
SPEAKER 09 :
You know, Kevin, it’s interesting that you mention that because that clip of Schumer standing out in front of the Supreme Court and threatening the justices, and it was. I mean, it was a threat of everybody knows it was a threat of physical violence. And, you know, the nutcase came from California with the intent of killing Justice Kavanaugh. That really was one of those moments when you – You know, you look at it and you say to yourself, did he really say that? And the fact is he did. The left has this fundamental, basic problem. They believe that the end justifies the means. And that includes anything that you say, anything that you do, anything that you think. And that’s why we see Tesla’s burning today. That’s why Chuck Schumer made that threat. It explains so much of what is happening in American politics today. You know, if you think the end justifies the means, you’ll do anything.
SPEAKER 04 :
So Mark Tapscott, that’s so interesting that you would bring that up because tomorrow, we have a couple of young producers. They’re both 26. And so we’ve been doing this book review with them because I think it’s important that we have these intergenerational conversations. And it’s super interesting conversations that we’ve been having. So I chose the first book, which we finished, which was Henry Hazlitt’s Economics in One Lesson. So producer Luke has chosen the next book, which is The Prince by Niccolo Machiavelli.
SPEAKER 09 :
Machiavelli, yes. I’ve been reading Machiavelli.
SPEAKER 04 :
I’m reading. So the very back of the book, I’m starting the book. It says there, the end justifies the means. And then it says it’s a quote of King Solomon. And so I’ve started to research this. I’m not really… I’m finished with that. I’m interested. I just find it crazy that you would mention that. And I see this on the back of this book. What would be your comments to this? Because we’re going to have this discussion with these young guys tomorrow.
SPEAKER 09 :
Oh, that is – I’m amazed, number one, that they even know about Niccolo Machiavelli because he is – I studied three and a half years in a graduate political philosophy program way back when. And Machiavelli was at the very center of it, because his philosophy that the ruler of a state should do whatever he needs to do in order to maintain his power, that was a great dividing line between the ancients, Plato, Aristotle, the Jewish, the Old Testament traditions, which held that there were… In the case of the Jewish tradition, there is a God who is above all and who sets the law. And with the Greeks, there were natural laws that were above the king that had to be observed. Machiavelli comes along and says, no, the only law is what the state says. And you can imagine where that led us to. It’s amazing that they know about that, and it’s the perfect, I think— starting point for a discussion of the most important issue in politics, the most important issue in our lives. What’s truth? And why is it truth? And how do we know that it’s truth?
SPEAKER 04 :
Fascinating. I’m so blessed that we had this conversation regarding this because who defines the ends, correct? That’s the bottom line, right?
SPEAKER 09 :
Yep, and what are the proper ends and what are improper ends from some perspective? You know, you either have an assumption that there is a God who is eternal, who is beyond the material world, is not limited to time and space, and therefore can do whatever he desires, whatever he says is truth, Or you can say, well, you know, this material world is all there is, but it functions in a certain way, and we have these natural laws. And I think it was maybe Jeff Bezos in a memo a couple of weeks ago to his Washington Post staff. He pointed out to them, hey, the reality is we are losing hundreds of thousands of readers, and reality has a way of winning every time. So you have to – if you believe that it’s natural law, you have to be consistent with those. But Machiavelli and so much of what has come since then, including Marx and Hegel and socialism and so forth and so on, no, there’s no such thing as eternal truth. There’s only what we decide is truth. And what we decided, the truth is that, hey, by the way, we have the power, and you’re going to do what we tell you to do.
SPEAKER 04 :
Fascinating. So next question before we go to break, regarding Chuck Schumer and the Democrats, where the ends justify the means. So what is their end? What do you think their end is?
SPEAKER 09 :
You know, it’s interesting you ask that, Kim, because – You know, this really is a fascinating question because we have such a detailed, in-depth, lengthy record of the failure of federal centralization, centralized government in this country and elsewhere. It’s so much so that you would think, why on earth would anybody want to give the federal government more power, more money, more regulatory authority? You know, I mean, look at the Department of Education, which is a big issue right now. We started it in 1979. We’ve spent trillions and trillions of dollars through the Department of Education. And the public schools are disasters, you know, less than a third of the fourth graders. And reading proficiency, that’s, you know, if we keep that up, that is a prescription for a nation of…
SPEAKER 04 :
It’s a disaster.
SPEAKER 09 :
It’s going to be a disaster, you know. So why would they want more federal power? But that is exactly what they want. That’s what they’ve always sought, with some exceptions. There are still some reasonable Democrats in Congress. But that’s their main goal. And, you know, don’t confuse them with the facts. No, the state knows best, and we’re going to make the state more powerful.
SPEAKER 04 :
Oh, my gosh. This is so fascinating, Mark Tapscott. This was not what we were going to talk about, but it all is connected. And Mark Tapscott is a senior congressional correspondent with The Epoch Times. He’s an award-winning journalist. And we’re going to continue this discussion. And welcome back to The Kim Munson Show. Check out our website. That is KimMunson, M-O-N-S-O-N.com. Sign up for our weekly email newsletter, and you can email me at Kim at KimMunson.com as well. Thank you to all of you who support us. We’re an independent voice, and we search for truth and clarity by looking at these issues through the lens of freedom versus force, force versus freedom. If something’s a good idea, you should not have to force people to do it. The two nonprofits that I really highlight on the show on a regular basis is the USMC Memorial Foundation, which is raising money for the Marine Memorial remodel out here in Colorado. You can help them by going to usmcmemorialfoundation.org. and then also the Center for American Values down in Pueblo, Colorado. Pueblo is known as the home of heroes because four Medal of Honor recipients grew up there, and one of those recipients, Drew Dix, is a co-founder of the center, and they focus on honoring our Medal of Honor recipients with their portraits of valor, these great educational programs at K-12, and they’re nonpolitical, nonpartisan. They just focus on these foundational principles of honor, integrity, and patriotism. I’m having a fascinating conversation with Mark Tapscott, award-winning senior congressional correspondent for the Epic Times. Mark Tapscott, we just happened to mention the book that I’m going to be starting to review with our young producers, Joe and Luke Tomorrow by Niccolo Machiavelli. And His premise is the ends justify the means. And if the ends are centralized control of government, everyday people are not going to do very well. The founders, and it says that they’re quoting King Solomon, but the ends have to be noble ends, if you’re looking at the Bible. It has to be noble ends. I think one of the examples was, for example, would it be okay to lie… to the Nazis if you were hiding Jews, and they came and said, are you hiding Jews? Well, ultimately in God’s world, protecting them would be the proper ends. Correct? Okay, help me out here.
SPEAKER 09 :
That’s clear. That’s the kind of example that people who are not Christians, people who do not believe that there is a God, They will cite that kind of an example to set up what appears to be two irreconcilable values. On the one hand, telling the truth. On the other hand, protecting life, which is what that issue is about. But there very clearly is a hierarchy, if you will. It’s more important to protect life in order to be able to tell the truth. And that is how I would approach that particular dilemma. It’s not really a dilemma. It’s a false dilemma. But there are situations where you have to make a choice, which is the more important of the two values. And trust me, God is smart enough to figure out what’s going on in any of the situations that you might have that kind of a choice.
SPEAKER 04 :
Okay. So next thing, connecting this dot, because I’ve had conversations with those that said, for example, Samuel Adams, Sons of Liberty, clearly they broke the law when they got onto that ship and threw the tea over the side because they didn’t want to pay that particular tax. And then I had another, but they were working towards a higher ideal, and that was liberty. And liberty is the responsible exercise of freedom. So I was having a conversation with another young person regarding this whole UnitedHealthcare murder of the UnitedHealthcare executive. And there are those on the left that have said that this is justifiable because there were claims that were denied by UnitedHealthcare by people that needed it. And so this young person said to me, well, George Washington used violence in the Revolutionary War. And I had to think about it, Mark, but I said, yes, true. But they were working towards a higher ideal to get a constitutional republic where we would not settle our differences via violence. Your thoughts?
SPEAKER 09 :
Well, that is a great discussion that you’re having with these guys. You have to understand the American Revolution in the context of the fact that America is and our founders particularly, came out of the Protestant tradition in the Reformation. And one of the key principles of the Reformation, at least in terms of the political situation, is that the king or whoever is the government is obligated to rule subject to the laws of God. And if they break those laws of God, they have lost their legitimacy, and therefore nobody is obligated to submit to them. And in fact, if you are seeking to uphold God’s law, then you’re going to revolt against them, you know, assuming that you don’t have any other means of persuading the king to change whatever he or she is doing. And, you know, I mean, yeah, that wasn’t their tea, but the Stamp Act was clearly taxation without representation, which is a fundamental principle. It’s a natural right, according to the founders, and that was a way of communicating to the king, hey, buddy, you’re doing something that is
SPEAKER 04 :
contrary to the natural law and you need to stop it and if you don’t there will be consequences and there were okay so with trump and all that he’s doing with doge and from what i can see it it appears to me mark tapscott that he is trying to stay within his constitutional parameters and i think that’s really really important uh but you’re much closer to this um what do you see
SPEAKER 09 :
Well, you know, I come at these issues from the perspective of somebody that read the Constitution, noted that the first article of the Constitution establishes the Congress, the most representative branch of the three branches in our government. It also, in Article 2, establishes the executive branch led by the president, And it’s his branch to manage. And the Constitution is very clear about what his authority is in terms of how he manages that. I have seen nothing that Trump is doing that looks to me as if he’s going beyond his legitimate constitutional authority to, you know, both as the commander in chief of the military and the chief executive of the civilian side of the government. Congress still has all of the ultimate weapons in any showdown with the president, and that includes, most importantly, Congress has the final say, for example, on whether or not the Department of Education will actually be abolished. There’s a lot of things that Trump can do to change the way the Department of Education goes about doing whatever it does or stops doing things that, in his judgment, are not part of its purpose. But in the final analysis, Congress will have to decide, and I’m pretty confident this Congress will, that we don’t need the Department of Education anymore. It’s been a failure. Congress establishes the jurisdiction of the federal courts. These far-left liberal judges that have been district court judges that have been issuing decisions that they claim have nationwide authority They are way off base. They are totally out of their own jurisdiction. And Congress could end that tomorrow by passing legislation that says, hey, bud, you know, you’re a district court judge and your rulings only apply in your district and they are subject to appeal.
SPEAKER 04 :
So what about Trump’s comments on impeaching these judges?
SPEAKER 09 :
I think that’s Donald Trump.
SPEAKER 1 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 09 :
You know, he is, you know, Trump speaks his mind. And a lot of what he says, some folks, you know, take umbrage to. I think it’s not necessary to impeach him. I think it’s essential that Congress remind them, hey, here’s your jurisdiction. Stay in it.
SPEAKER 04 :
Wow, this is fascinating. Mark Tapscott, we have a couple of minutes left. Doge, I find it absolutely fascinating, and I find it crazy that people out there protesting, saying, no, we want more waste, fraud, and abuse.
SPEAKER 09 :
Exactly. That’s exactly it. You know, Kim, and I’m not boasting when I point this out, but one of the things that I am most proud of, the Lord has enabled me in my career— He showed me very early on that transparency in government is the key to accountability in government. And that makes transparency big government’s biggest enemy. And that’s why these people are so upset about Doge is because, my gosh, in what, two months since January 20th? We have seen more facts about how the government spends our money. exposed to the public than we’ve seen in any comparable period previously in American history. We’re getting transparency now like we should have always had, but boy, here it is, and the people who have been benefiting from all of this federal spending, much of it corrupt in my view, and reportedly so, these people, they’re beside themselves. They literally will do anything to stop further corruption They don’t want any more transparency. They don’t want the American people, the taxpayers, to know what they’re doing.
SPEAKER 04 :
And they’re resorting to violence to try to stop this. We’ve got about 45 seconds left. Mark Tapscott, this is fascinating. Thank you. How do you want to wrap this up?
SPEAKER 09 :
Well, I would just tell your listeners to, you know, hey, it’s like Ronald Reagan said. We’re Americans, and we have the most unique form of government on the face of the earth, and with God’s help, we can keep it that way. But we’ve all got to be involved and we’ve got to be paying attention and we’ve got to be asking questions of people in government, Republicans and Democrats. What are you doing and why are you doing it like that?
SPEAKER 04 :
Absolutely spot on. And you can find Mark Tapscott at the Epoch Times. He is the award-winning senior congressional correspondent. Mark, thanks so much. We have to talk again soon.
SPEAKER 09 :
Yes, let’s do that, Kim.
SPEAKER 04 :
Okay. Our quote for the end of the show is from Thomas Aquinas. He said, One cannot use an evil action without reference to a good intention. And today, be grateful, read great books, think good thoughts, listen to beautiful music, communicate and listen well, live honestly and authentically, strive for high ideals, and like Superman, stand for truth, justice, and the American way. My friends, you are not alone. God bless you. God bless America. Stay tuned for hour number two.
SPEAKER 07 :
like a new moon rising fierce through the rain and lightning wandering out into this great unknown and I don’t want no one to cry but tell them if I don’t serve

It’s the Kim Munson Show, analyzing the most important stories.
SPEAKER 04 :
The socialization of transportation, education, energy, housing, and water, what it means is that government controls it through rules and regulations.
SPEAKER 02 :
The latest in politics and world affairs.
SPEAKER 04 :
Under the guise of bipartisanship and nonpartisanship, it’s actually tapping down the truth.
Indeed, let’s have a conversation. And welcome to our number two of the Kim Munson Show. Thank you so much for joining us. You’re each treasured. You’re valued. You have purpose today. Strive for excellence. Take care of your heart, your soul, your mind, and your body. My friends, we were made for this moment in history. Thank you to the team. That’s Producer Joe, Luke, Rachel, Zach, Echo, Charlie, Mike, Teresa, Amanda. and all the people here at Crawford Broadcasting. Happy Monday, Producer Joe. Happy Monday, Kim. Tell you what, that was the first hour to get us, shoot us off to the moon. That was amazing, wasn’t it?
SPEAKER 21 :
Yes, ma’am. That was really just something. And I wasn’t expecting Nico Machiavelli to be mentioned.
SPEAKER 04 :
And we’re going to be doing our beginning our book review on that tomorrow. So it’s going to be absolutely fascinating. If you missed it, you can hear our number one in the rebroadcast one to two in the afternoon. And the show comes to you Monday through Friday, six to eight a.m. the first hour. It is rebroadcast 1 to 2 in the afternoon, second hour, 10 to 11 at night. You can hear us on KLZ 560 AM, KLZ 100.7 FM, the KLZ website, the KLZ app. And apparently it comes in loud and clear on Alexa as well. Just say, Alexa, play KLZ. And then we do post the shows on the website, and you can hear them via the streaming services such as Apple and iTunes. I do thank Laramie Energy for their gold sponsorship of the show because it is reliable, efficient, affordable, and abundant energy from oil, natural gas, and coal that powers our lives, fuels our hopes and dreams, and empowers us to change our own personal climate. And I really recommend that you check out A Climate Conversation, which is the documentary that I had the great opportunity honor to narrate. It is a project of Walt Johnson. You can watch it for free by going to aclimateconversation.com. This is going to be really interesting as we’re starting to see the transparency, I would say, on this whole narrative regarding climate and the amount of money that has been taken from us, we the people, and going into the pockets of politicians, bureaucrats, and interested parties, those PBIs. regarding that. Now, here in Colorado, this legislature and this governor is continuing to double down on this whole Green New Deal, and the green is that’s going into these PBI’s pockets. So make sure that you check out aclimateconversation.com, and you can watch that for free at aclimateconversation.com. Our word of the day is altruism. And the one thing that in these definitions that they’re not talking about is the use of government to force altruism. But altruism, A-L-T-R-U-I-S-M, could be unselfish concern for the welfare of others or selflessness. Number two, it could be the instinctive behavior that is detrimental to the individual but favors the survival or spread of the individual’s genes as by benefiting its relatives. And number three, regard for others, both natural and moral, devotion to the interests of others, brotherly kindness. You know, as I’m reading this, the Bible verse, and I think many times they base it, they base altruism on that, and that is Love your neighbor, okay, that is important. But the next part of that Bible verse is you love yourself. And I think it’s important. I think some people, they don’t realize that we are also commanded to love ourselves, not in a selfish way. And if you take care of yourself, your family, your business, okay, then that actually can work out to taking care of others as well. So I chose the word altruism, and certainly I need to have another conversation on this with Brad Beck, because he’s really the one that kind of flagged me on this particular word and how it’s been hijacked. to use government to take other people’s stuff and as you know on the show we focus on searching for truth and clarity by looking at these issues through the lens of freedom versus force force versus freedom something’s a good idea you should not have to force people to do it our quote of the day is from thomas quinas he was born in 1225 died in 1274 and he was a dominican friar and priest And he said this, he who is not angry when there is just cause for anger is immoral. Why? Because anger looks to the good of justice. And if you could live amid injustice without anger, you are immoral as well as unjust. And that’s going to play into our conversation today regarding justice. abortion here in Colorado. Our bill of the day, we talked with Rebecca Kelty regarding Senate Bill 25003, which is the magazine bill regarding firearms, a complete assault upon our Second Amendment rights here in Colorado. But that’s not the only bill that they have proposed down there to take away our Second Amendment rights. And I was not familiar with the bill that she mentioned regarding changing the designation of those that might attempt a mass shooting, but they don’t hit anybody, changing the classification of that crime. Got to check more of that out. But how is it that they want to protect the criminal and make it more difficult for we the people to protect ourselves against bad actors? Just have to ask that question on that. Two headlines I wanted to mention. This is from Denverite. Quick Trip is suing Denver over their retroactive ban on new gas stations near old gas stations. And it says it was a new zoning law was passed in February and will block any proposed proposals submitted after May 13th of last year. A retroactive law that would kill four Quick Trip projects and few others already in the development pipeline. Unbelievable. And so now this private business has to use their resources to fight that in court. And then the other thing is, is in Elizabeth, little Elizabeth in Elbert County, a federal judge is ordering. Basically, this is from Colorado Politics. I’ll read the headline. It says partisan or political federal judge orders Elizabeth School District to return 19 banned books. Quite frankly, this is pornographic books that parents wanted to not have their children have access to. This should be a parental choice. I don’t believe in banning books, but I also don’t believe in having pornography in front of children. And so the right thing to do is to not have these pornographic books in front of children. My understanding is, is they were going to have these books put aside so that if parents wanted their children to read those pornographic books, then it could be a parental approval to do that. And, again, this is really sad when we have those that have this agenda that would hurt children with pornography are using our First Amendment in order to do so. And so we need to continue to shed light on all of this. All of this happens. I get to work with absolutely amazing people. And I’m talking with Roger Mangan, State Farm Insurance Agent, great sponsor of the show. I greatly appreciate you, Roger. It’s great to be part of this team. It is quite the team, and we have these important conversations as we search for truth and clarity on these important issues. But, Roger, we were talking before we started to record about something that is important, and that’s regarding filling in hospital income. Explain this to me.
SPEAKER 18 :
Well, all of us today know that we have very high deductibles before our health insurance carrier kicks in and covers any expense. So if you’re involved in a ski accident, for example, and you go to an emergency room, that’s going to be expensive. Anywhere from $1,000 to $2,000, depending on… whether there was an ambulance or a broken leg, broken ankle, et cetera. So there is a policy that you can acquire. Most people don’t know about this, and well, they should. It’s very inexpensive. For example, a 64-year-old, it’s $212 a year, and the coverage they get for that is $300 of daily benefit. So if they’re in the hospital five days, that’s $1,500 to pay toward that $5,000 deductible. There’s intensive care coverage that doubles that $300. So if you’re in intensive care for three days, you get $600 instead of $300. And then if there’s an emergency accident, the policy pays $900. Interesting part about this is there is no waiting period like disability income. You have to wait 30 days, 90 days before the policy kicks in. This policy kicks in immediately if you’re admitted to a hospital or experience some kind of emergency accident. Could be falling downstairs or a ski accident.
SPEAKER 04 :
Well, it sounds like it’s very affordable and surely makes a lot of sense, but I don’t think a lot of people know about it.
SPEAKER 18 :
Yeah, it’s really an under-marketed product, and I wish people would engage in it because I have a $5,000 deductible. I’ve seen the doctor a few times this year, and every time I get a bill, I’m going, oh my gosh, $300 here, $100 there, $500 here. If I went to a hospital, now this is really… You have to be confined to the hospital, admitted to the hospital, unless it’s an emergency. And that emergency has to be reported within 72 hours of the event. But if things happen that we’re absolutely unaware of, I can slip and fall and sprain an ankle and be somewhere for two days. And by the way, there’s another benefit. It’s half of the $300, $150 benefit. up to 60 days for an assisted living facility. So if you’re really seriously, not just injured, but in the hospital for some medical reason, now they release you and you can’t go home, you have to go to some assisted living facility, they’ll pay up to $150 a day for 365 days. It’s a very, very good policy. And how can people get more information about this, Roger? You know, call our office at 303-795-8855.
SPEAKER 04 :
And you’re willing to help people and just take a look at what they have and make suggestions and they can go from there. Absolutely. And that number is 303-795-8855. Roger Mangan, you do an excellent job and thank you. You’re welcome. Thank you, Kim.
SPEAKER 01 :
Property is surely a right of mankind as real as liberty, wrote founding father John Adams. RE-MAX realtor Karen Levine has been working diligently at the local, county, state, and national levels to protect property rights and home ownership. Karen has navigated the often challenging Colorado metro real estate market for years. That’s 303-877-7516.

You can hear the show Monday through Friday. On all KLZ 560 platforms, that’s live 6 to 8 a.m. First hour is rebroadcast 1 to 2 in the afternoon. Second hour, 10 to 11 at night. And that is KLZ 560 AM, 100.7 FM, the website, the app, and also Alexa. I am pleased to have on the line with me my friend Juliana Day. She is the president of Life Decisions. And she does amazing work. in the community to change the culture, to value a life. And also going to be talking with Dr. Catherine Wheeler regarding all these things that are happening here in Colorado regarding abortion. Juliana Day, welcome to the show.
SPEAKER 03 :
Thank you so much, Kim. It’s always a pleasure to be in your program.
SPEAKER 04 :
Well, great to have you. And Dr. Catherine Wheeler, thank you for being here as well.
SPEAKER 05 :
Thank you so much for the opportunity.
SPEAKER 04 :
So I’m going to go to you first, Dr. Wheeler. I feel that Colorado has become a sanctuary state for abortion. So in a way, a sanctuary state for death. Is that overstating things?
SPEAKER 05 :
No, I don’t think so at all. I think that’s exactly the intention of what’s going on at the legislature and with Amendment 79. But I think the other side of it is most people have no idea that’s what’s going on, and there is our opportunity to educate.
SPEAKER 04 :
Well, and that is where, Juliana Day, you come in with being president of Life Decisions. You’re in the community. You’re in the Hispanic community. You’re actually out on the streets with your ministry making the case for life. So tell us about Life Decisions.
SPEAKER 03 :
One of the things that I learned after I sponsored Proposition 115 is was actually two things. One, the lack of information that people in the state had, that they have no idea that abortion was allowed until the moment of birth. And two, that they also didn’t have ideas about the resources. And we have abundance of resources in our state. So putting that together, I said, you know, for me, it’s not just a matter of sponsoring a proposition or testifying at the state capitol, it’s gonna be critical for us to provide all the information to our communities. That’s the reason why I’m partnering with Dr. Katherine Wheeler and Dr. Tom Perel to provide that information. So we’ve been going across, discussing and encouraging people to discuss about the reality of abortion. We do it in English and we do it in Spanish.
SPEAKER 04 :
Well, and Dr. Wheeler, this is a – and I talked to some young people about this. Our children have been conditioned through Planned Parenthood, I think, pushing – and many school districts hire Planned Parenthood regarding – I’ll say reproductive health – But our children have been conditioned that if they have an unplanned pregnancy, that life is over. And I said to my young producer, Joe, I said, our girls have been conditioned that life is over if they have an unplanned pregnancy, all their hopes, their dreams, all that. He said, Kim, it’s not just that they say that to young girls. They’re teaching that to young boys as well, Dr. Wheeler. And So we need to be in this conversation early, making the case for life and the beauty of children. And even if there is an unplanned pregnancy, there are other options, Dr. Wheeler.
SPEAKER 05 :
Yeah, thank you for that. And I think that’s actually one of the keys is to get ahead of the cultural narrative. I myself was one of those people who got pregnant as a surprise in the middle of medical school. And the first thought is, my life is over because you’re right, you’ve been conditioned to think that. But I’m so thankful for what Juliana’s doing. My situation was people came around me and said, this is going to be awesome. And people helped me. And even my professors helped me financially. That’s what women need. And so I’ve got this incredible almost 40-year-old son because of people coming around me. It’s the most beautiful gift in the world to be a mother. And so we’ve got to get ahead of that in our families and just teach. Sometimes people get pregnant and they don’t mean to, but we’re here with you and this baby matters. So I’m so thankful you brought that up.
SPEAKER 04 :
Well, and Juliana Day, last week I talked with Kevin Lundberg about this up in Fort Collins. something very tragic happened with 18 year old lexi she was getting an abortion at the planned parenthood facility on shields road up in fort collins something went wrong and they did eventually get her to the uh the hospital and apparently her grandparents were able to
SPEAKER 03 :
get there as well but she died from that Juliana Day I think a lot of people don’t understand the risks to the mom for abortion it’s so alarming what is happening in the state sometimes I feel like one of these days we’re gonna have one of those stories like Gusnell because there’s no protection at all for women. And that’s one of the things that we’ve been fighting at the state capitol, just to try to protect women. And unfortunately, we’ll deal with situations like that beautiful girl. She was only 18 years old, and she died. She died of complications of having an abortion. One thing that I wanted to mention, Kim, that you were talking about also education. And that’s, we have to go back a little bit of the comprehensive human sexuality education, the Infamous 1032. I don’t know if your listeners remember that. But when the sex education law was passed, one of the things that make it mandatory for teachers is to present abortion as a positive option equal to life. So everything starts there from the moment the kids are going to school, how much they are indoctrinating to accept that abortion is a good thing. Now, going back to what you were mentioning to that tragic situation with this girl, Lexi, that happened in Fort Collins. There are no regulations. Dr. Catherine Wheeler is going to expand a little bit about the different bills that have been introduced from our side, trying to provide information that is so much needed. Because unfortunately, in our state, there’s zero protection for women. And currently, Colorado has no minimum health standards for abortion clinics. Regulations or inspections for abortion clinics are also not existent. So it is a shame that the current legislature doesn’t allow any type of regulations for these clinics.
SPEAKER 04 :
So, Dr. Wheeler, on that, the narrative out there by the radical activists that abortion is their issue, and I have been at different rallies or protests where I’ve seen young women who… they are so the abortion is their issue they’ll drive by in a car and and you know yell expletives and hand gestures and the the anger that they have for anybody that is standing for life is pretty unbelievable it’s pretty sad to me but so this this whole abortion narrative that’s been pushed on on these young women they try to make it sound like they’re standing for women but from what juliana has just described and i’ve seen it scott bottoms representative bottoms had introduced legislation to at least get some kind of regulation for these abortion clinics and the democrats that now control the state house voted it down they don’t care about women but somehow they’re able to pretend that they do dr wheeler
SPEAKER 05 :
Well, I think, to be fair to them, I think they do care about women, but I think they care in a way where they’re blinded to what’s actually going on. Okay. So I’m a GYN doctor. I’m actually a former abortionist also. And so I can see what they’re doing. They’re so convinced that women need abortion that… If people care about women, they will be pro-abortion, but they don’t consider what abortion is and how it harms women. So it’s very, very misguided and incorrect. So, you know, as far as regulation, you know, I think that, again, there’s a blindness because the professional medical organizations have taken on abortion advocacy as their number one issue, not better health care, not solving maternity issues. mortality or maternity deserts, their number one issue is abortion advocacy group, which is really sad to me. And I think the question is, is there significant risk to abortions? And we need to separate them out by the type of procedure or drug and by how far along in the pregnancy the woman is if she had an abortion. So we’re setting aside whether abortion is right or wrong. We’re talking about the risks of the actual procedure, both short-term and long-term. And we know that first trimester abortions do have relatively low risk immediately to the woman at least. But once you cross over into the second trimester, you’re now dealing with a pretty good-sized baby. And it takes some very risky procedures to remove that baby from the woman’s uterus. And so now we’re talking about risky procedures. And, you know, who of us would go into have, like, say, I thought I had uterine cancer and I went in for a DNC. I want to know that that facility is safe, that the doctors are credentialed, that they have protocols in place, that they’re regulated, that they’re respected. But for some reason, they don’t feel the same way about women who are having abortions. There’s different procedures. And so once we’re over the first trimester, we’re now talking at least 10%, at least one in 10 women having an abortion is going to have a complication. And it only goes up as the baby gets bigger, as the pregnancy goes on. Those are risky procedures, and it’s unsafe. And it actually puts women’s lives at risk, as we’ve heard with the woman in Fort Collins, to have abortions in an unregulated, unexpected way.
SPEAKER 04 :
facility so that’s what we were trying to do is to protect these women in dangerous situations because Colorado is a state where women can have abortions until the due date and that’s actually becoming that’s very dangerous okay and Dr. Willey thank you for clarifying that because I made that rather broad statement that they don’t care about women and I appreciate your clarification that it’s not that they don’t care that it’s it’s misguided did I hear that correctly
SPEAKER 05 :
You know, I really believe that because I’ve seen the other side where it’s an indoctrination. If you don’t look at what abortion actually is, it’s very abstract the way it’s talked about. It’s talked about as a right. It’s kind of like you walk into some black box, something happens, and you come out as if nothing happened. That’s not what abortion is. Abortion is a gruesome procedure that harms the woman in addition to taking the life of the baby. We’ve got to talk about what it is. And they want people to not think about it. They want people to think about it in the abstract as just a right that, you know, who knows what happens in that blocked out. So I know what happens and it’s very dangerous.
SPEAKER 04 :
Okay, Dr. Wheeler, thank you so much. And we’re focusing on you and Juliana during this particular segment. So I thank you. And then one of your colleagues will be joining us with Juliana as well. And if you want to stay on the line, I think we can make that happen. Yes, Joe? If you can stay on the line, Dr. Wheeler, that would be great. And if you need to jump, I certainly understand. We’re going to be talking with Juliana Day and Dr. Tom Perel in this next segment. And these important discussions happen because of our great sponsors. And we’re inviting in Dr. Tom Perel, her colleague as well. And Dr. Tom Perel, welcome to the show.
SPEAKER 12 :
Yes, thank you for having me.
SPEAKER 04 :
Okay. And do we have Dr. Tom Perel? Is he there? Okay. Okay. Hello. Okay, great. Okay, welcome. Thank you for having me. It’s good to have you. Juliana, Dr. Catherine Wheeler, who we talked with in the previous segment, Dr. Tom Perel, they’re part of your team. So explain how you’re all working together at Life Decisions.
SPEAKER 03 :
What we do is organize different events with the community to provide information about abortion. We go through the fetal development, what abortion is, tries to answer all the questions regarding the issue of abortion and misinformation. But mainly what we do is that sometimes there are people who are calling us to do a presentation. Sometimes we do presentations in churches. Or for life decisions, I myself organize different events. So that’s the way we do it because I think it’s so critical. now debunk all the lies coming from the abortion industry.
SPEAKER 04 :
Well, and Susan Harris, who is one of our sponsors, she and I had a conversation about this. Oh, it was well over a year ago. And she said, Kim, I hope that we get to a point where abortion becomes not a political question, but it’s a question where we’ve made such a great case for life that people choose life. And I think that’s the arena that you’re in, Juliana Daye. Well, I guess you’re in both. I guess I should say you’re in both.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yes, absolutely. I think it’s critical to fight the misinformation and take it directly to the communities and also just work with… at the state legislature and trying to fight the bills that have been introduced. It’s just amazing to me. Sometimes you guys can, well, your listeners can go to LifeDecisions.me and you, under Colorado laws, you can find a list of the different bills that have been introduced, the ones that are already the laws. So we are trying, you know, it’s a very delicate balance, but mainly just to take information to the communities.
SPEAKER 04 :
Well, and so, Dr. Tom Perel, Amendment 79, not only is things happening down at the legislature, but the people of Colorado voted for an amendment to be put in the Constitution protecting abortion. And I find that a very dark day for Colorado when we did that. So tell us, first of all, how you became involved with life decisions and why is it important to you? And then please comment on Amendment 79 as well.
SPEAKER 12 :
I became involved with Life Decisions and Julianna Day back in the Prop 115 effort, which was an attempt to limit late abortions in Colorado. And Julianna and I worked together to try to promote that effort. And that sort of was the start of a collaboration that has continued to today with Catherine Wheeler. Juliana, as she mentioned, we’re going across the state to try to elevate awareness about exactly what abortion is, what the human embryo and fetus are really like in the uterus and the humanity, and try to re-humanize the developing human, which has been a relentless target by the pro-abortion advocates with their dehumanization efforts.
SPEAKER 04 :
And Amendment 79, which was passed by the people of Colorado, put into our Constitution abortion. And I think this has created that Colorado is a sanctuary state, as I said to Dr. Wheeler in the previous segment, that this makes Colorado a place of death.
SPEAKER 12 :
Yeah, and, you know, I think the irony is that a lot by just walking, you know, my district and around Denver and Boulder tried to talk to people about Amendment 79, it’s clear to me that there was a fear that if we didn’t pass Amendment 79 that abortion restrictions would be enacted in Colorado and those would cause women to die. And that’s the core misinformation and propaganda that the abortion industry has been able to to disseminate across the country as well as here in Colorado. And the irony is because abortion restrictions do not cause women’s deaths. The famous cases like Amber Thurman were clearly a consequence of abortion itself with medical negligence combined. And all the cases that they point out that suggest there’s a problem with abortion restrictions, when they’re scrutinized more closely, it’s clear clearly just relation as a complication of abortion itself and or medical negligence. And here in Colorado, you know, we have no regulations of second and third trimester abortion clinics, as Dr. Wheeler may have mentioned, and this has resulted in an environment which is not dissimilar to the time before, you know, when people were concerned that women were dying from unregulated, unsanitary, and potentially dangerous abortion situations. There’s nothing to prevent that here in Colorado since we have absolutely no oversight. And I think if people realized that abortion access is more important to the abortion industry than the health and lives and safety of women, I think that would have made a big difference in the campaign for 79th.
SPEAKER 04 :
But, Juliana Day, you were spearheading that Prop 115, which was to prevent late-term abortions here in Colorado. That was defeated. And then enshrining—excuse me, enshrining is not the right word. But putting—and Russ, my fellow Colorado Union Taxpayer Board member, challenged me to remember that. But putting— protecting abortion in our Colorado Constitution was passed by the people of Colorado. And I think Dr. Tom Perel just framed that with the narrative that was out there that women would die if we had abortion restrictions. Am I hearing that correctly, Juliana Day?
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah. Just to remind your listeners what Amendment 79 does. It codifies abortion at any stage of the pregnancy for any reason and without any protection for women. Currently, like we’ve been mentioning, Colorado has no minimum health standard for abortion clinics. And what is so interesting is that the other day I was doing a presentation, and in the group of these ladies, there was one that worked for them. She was a medical assistant. And she was telling me, no, it’s impossible. What you’re saying is not true because we are very well regulated. How is it possible that abortion clinics are not? And I was telling her that. that yes, we have nothing, absolutely nothing that protects women. So that’s what he saw. can put it together. There are regulations for hospitals. There are regulations when you go to see a dentist. There are regulations for multiple things in the medical industry. But when it comes to abortion, the abortion industry, there’s none. Number two, what Amendment 79 does is that it officially eliminates the only abortion restriction that was enforced in Colorado. that that was parental notification. That means that our teenager children may confront with a planned pregnancy and abortion on their own without any parental involvement. And what is so critical about that, that it makes it easier for sex traffickers to transport a pregnant minor to have an abortion, and nobody will know. And number three is that effectively remove the 1984 Colorado Amendment 3 that prohibits the use of public funds for abortion. And right now, the legislature is complaining that we are dealing with a deficit in the state. But at the same time, and it’s just going very fast through the process, and very soon it’s going to become the law where it’s going to force Colorado residents to pay the taxpayers to pay for abortions that are performed from residents and non-residents of this state. So this is going to result in millions of dollars in annual costs to Colorado taxpayers. So those are the three things that unfortunately a lot of people in the state WERE AWARE THAT AMENDMENT 79 WILL CAUSE. SO IT’S JUST SO BAD. IT’S JUST A TRAGEDY. SO THAT’S WHAT IS JUST SO CRITICAL FOR US. to keep informing the people of the implications of Amendment 79 and what is happening right now in the state.
SPEAKER 04 :
Well, and Juliana Day, you are on the forefront of this battle in the culture with life decisions. How can people get more information about life decisions and help you? You cut off. I’m sitting here. Okay. Juliana, how can people get more information about Life Decisions and how can they help you?
SPEAKER 03 :
Yes. They can go to LifeDecisions.me or they can send me an email at LifeDecisions365 at gmail.com. We go across the state with the two doctors. We are the only organization. If something’s a good idea, shouldn’t have to force people to do it. And wanted to mention the USMC Memorial Foundation. We have the official Marine Memorial right here In Colorado, it’s in Golden at the corner of Colfax and 6th Avenue. And it’s time for a remodel. And Paula Starles and her team are doing amazing things to make that a reality. And it is so important to remember and honor those that have given their lives or been willing to give their lives for our freedom. And then I do dearly love the Center for American Values located in Pueblo. I was down there last week for an amazing presentation. on their On Values presentation with Dr. Walt Larimore. So they’re doing educational things for adults. Of course, kids can attend. Great K-12 educational programs and then honoring our Medal of Honor recipients with their Portraits of Valor and their Medal of Honor quote book. So check out all their great work at AmericanValuesCenter.org. And this evening I will be moderating a forum with the candidates for the Colorado State GOP chair. You can watch that at America News on X or also it will be streaming on the Real America’s Mom 2-0 on Facebook. Again, America News on X or Real America’s Mom 2-0 on Facebook. And one of the candidates for Colorado State GOP chair is on the line with me, Jeremy Goodall. Welcome to the show.
SPEAKER 11 :
thank you for having me kim well it’s good to be here it’s good to have you and and the first question is um why why are you throwing your hat in the ring for colorado state gop chair that’s that’s that’s a powerful question because i think why is always the fundamental question i think that’s why toddlers ask it incessantly but uh I’m getting into this chair race on the primary issue of making sure that the opt-out vote sticks. A year ago, down in Pueblo, 95% of the wide body of the state assembly and convention, the widest assembly body that the Republican Party brings together, stood up, and I was sitting where I could see the whole crowd, and it was a 95% in support of opting out. And it has really been eye-opening to find out that opting out is somewhat controversial amongst the central committee. There’s a group of folks that, frankly, will not take action. Even as they cry out for unity, they refuse to accept the verdict of 95 percent of the widest body that we have.
SPEAKER 04 :
So question on this, Jeremy Goodall, because my understanding was there had to be a 75 percent threshold of the Republican Central Committee to opt out. You’re saying it was 95 percent. So match that up for me.
SPEAKER 11 :
Well, the assembly and convention body is almost like at that time of the day, it was probably about 4,000 people in that room in Pueblo. And the central committee is only 500-ish, and that’s a smaller decision-making body within the Republican apparatus. And so the Democrat-imposed statute… is that the central committee has to hold a vote every other year in the year before the general elections to opt out. And the threshold for that is 75%. And so because that was not the central committee body, folks are saying, well, you know, we have to make that decision ourselves. And I’m saying, if we’re not listening to the rank and file of our party, what are we doing here?
SPEAKER 04 :
So Jeremy Goodall, there are those that say that this opting out, that Colorado has so many unaffiliated voters, that it’s important that these unaffiliated, not the other party, but just unaffiliated voters will receive both a Democrat and a Republican ballot currently in the primary. They can only vote for one of them. And there is the argument out there that says, well, if we don’t include these unaffiliated in the primary, then we disenfranchise them. What would you say to that?
SPEAKER 11 :
To that, I would actually say unaffiliated, when we keep bringing these up, I actually don’t call them unaffiliated. I lump them in with Democrats and the others, and I basically say that they are, by all definitions, not Republicans. I think the bigger question is, why do we want non-Republicans driving the process in a Republican selection process? Why do we want non-Republicans voting? Why do we want non-Republicans funding? Why do we want Democrats handling our ballots, running the counts, and telling us the results of our candidate selection process? That’s not how we can go forward as a party. That is basically organizational capture, and we need to understand that as the Republican Party, we’ve effectively been rendered a puppet of the Democrat Party by adhering strictly to the rules they’re imposing on us. They’ve given us an exit clause, and frankly, if we don’t take it, we’re basically acquiescing to their fundamental premise, and their fundamental premise is that we belong to them, and I reject that with every fiber of my being.
SPEAKER 04 :
Okay, so then the next question. Unity is a big question, and I know so many people. I care deeply about them. They care about the Republican Party, and they say we must unify. Good idea. What do you say to that, Jeremy Goodall?
SPEAKER 11 :
I say when Pueblo last year in April, 95% of the rank and file Republicans that were in attendance at that meeting stood up in support of opting out. If you’re going to stand with 5% over 95%, I don’t know what definition of unity you’re using.
SPEAKER 04 :
Okay, so this explained to us what’s going to happen now this election is right around the corner. Yes.
SPEAKER 11 :
Oh, in 2026? I’ve been doing this stuff since I’ve been politically involved since I was six years old, like kindergarten six, not 16. So, yeah, the next election cycles come so fast and they’re on top of us before we know it. But that means we don’t have any days to waste. We’ve got to be we’ve got to come together. We’ve got to figure out who we are as a party. And I think that starts by removing the extraneous influences. And we need to be We need to have an identity that we can all get behind.
SPEAKER 04 :
And this election for a state GOP chair is this coming Saturday, yes?
SPEAKER 11 :
Yes. Okay. Yes, that is the 29th. That’s going to be here in El Paso County. I believe it’s going to be at Radiant Church, the central campus. But it’s going to be a long day. I guarantee that. So if you are a voter… Bring some snacks. Keep your blood sugar up. Because the race for freedom is a marathon, not a sprint.
SPEAKER 04 :
And yes, this is very important. I think Colorado really is at the tip of the spear. And as you mentioned, 2026, I think that the radical activists, extremists that are controlling the Democrat Party are going to try to take these congressional and Senate races. And I also see, Jeremy Goodall, that these local races are very important as well. And that is your municipal, county, state, special district. All these races are really important. And I think it’s important the Republican Party be involved in all of those. We have just about a minute left. How can people get more information about you, Jeremy Goodall, and what’s your final thought?
SPEAKER 11 :
Well, I’m out at events. I’m going to be on the debate that you’re moderating this evening. And as we’re closing out, what you just said there about the radical, woke Democrats coming for us, I’m going to give you guys a website that is not mine. This is actually the Democrats publicly stating their plan. And that’s TheWelcomeParty.org. Write that down. TheWelcomeParty.org. That’s Democrat super funder Reid Hoffman, and he is targeting deep red Republican districts with the intent of putting in stealth Democrats and left-leaning Republicans to moderate our party from the inside out. He wants to hollow us out and make us even more of a beaten drum for the Democrat Party.
SPEAKER 04 :
Okay, and do you have a website you want to send people to as well, or how can people get more information about you?
SPEAKER 11 :
Well, honestly, given the time constraints, I actually have elected not to put up a website. I’m just basically running emails directly to the state central committee members.
SPEAKER 04 :
Got it.
SPEAKER 11 :
And so if you are a state central committee member and you haven’t seen my emails, check your spam folder because – Google and the like are not above interfering.
SPEAKER 04 :
I do understand that. Well, we’ll talk to you tonight, Jeremy Goodall. Thank you so much.
SPEAKER 11 :
Thank you so much. It’s been a pleasure.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yes, and our quote for the end of the show is from Thomas Aquinas. He said, one cannot use an evil action with reference to a good intention. So today, be grateful, read great books, think good thoughts, listen to beautiful music, communicate and listen well, live honestly and authentically, strive for high ideals, and like Superman, stand for truth, justice, and the American way. My friends, you are not alone. God bless you, and God bless America.
SPEAKER 07 :
Young like a new moon rising fierce through the rain and lightning, wandering out into this great unknown. And I don’t want no one to cry, but tell them if I don’t.
