If something’s a good idea, you should not have to force people to do it. And it’s never compassionate to take other people’s stuff, whether or not it’s their rights, their property, freedom, livelihood, their childhoods, opportunity, or lives via force. And force can obviously be a weapon, but it can be policy, unpredictable, an excess of taxation, the force to be compliant. Fear, coercion, government-induced inflation. This agenda by the World Economic Forum and globalist elites is playing out not only we’re seeing at obviously at the federal level, which Donald Trump is really pushing back on that, but here in Colorado, this governor, this state legislature, they are pushing that globalist elites agenda. But you also see it at local and county levels as well. And so that is why we are in the third founding of America, to see if we are going to continue to be a country and reclaim our liberty, which is the responsible exercise of freedom. And that is why we do the show, is to help you get your brain around these issues by speaking with experts, great guests, and kicking the tires on these ideas so that we can engage in these conversations. And on the show, we focus on the issues, not the personalities. We’ll mention the people that are pushing the issues. But we want to stay out of all of that eighth grade girl fighting that we see is very capable by all kinds of human beings. So let’s go ahead and jump in here. Or number three, successive or changing phases or conditions as of life or fortune, could be ups and downs. We certainly are seeing, let’s see, vicissitudes in our country today as we are working to, not only nationally, but here in Colorado, to reclaim these principles of our Declaration and of our Constitution. Our quote of the day is from Gordon R. Roberts, United States Army Medal of Honor recipient. He was born in 1950. These are actions that he took on July 11, 1969. And this is what he said, or excuse me, this is his citation. For conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action at the risk of his life, above and beyond the call of duty, Sergeant Roberts distinguished himself while serving as a rifleman with Company B during combat operations. Sergeant Roberts’ platoon was maneuvering along a ridge to attack a heavily fortified enemy bunker position, which had pinned down an adjoining friendly company. As the platoon approached the enemy positions, it was suddenly pinned down by heavy automatic weapons and grenade fire from camouflaged enemy fortifications atop the overlooking hill. Seeing his platoon immobilized and in danger of failing in its mission, Sergeant Roberts crawled rapidly toward the closest enemy bunker. With complete disregard for his safety, he leaped to his feet and charged the bunker, firing as he ran. Despite the intense enemy fire directed at him, Sergeant Roberts silenced the two-man bunker. Without hesitation, Sergeant Roberts continued his one-man assault on a second bunker. As he neared the second bunker, a burst of enemy fire knocked his rifle from his hands. Sergeant Roberts picked up a rifle dropped by a comrade and continued his assault, silencing the bunker. He continued his charge against a third bunker and destroyed it with well-thrown hand grenades. Although Sergeant Robert was now cut off from his platoon, he continued his assault against a fourth enemy emplacement. He fought through a heavy hail of fire to join elements of an adjoining company which had been pinned down by the enemy fire. Although continually exposed to hostile fire, he assisted in moving wounded personnel from exposed positions on the hilltop to an evacuation area before returning to his unit. By his gallant and selfless actions, Sergeant Roberts contributed directly in saving the lives of his comrades and served as an inspiration to his fellow soldiers in the defeat of the enemy force. Sergeant Roberts’ extraordinary heroism in action at the risk of his life were in keeping with the highest traditions of the military service and reflect great credit upon himself, his unit, and the United States Army. My generation, just like the ones before it, kept the dream of our founding fathers alive and started the march toward freedom worldwide. Well, it’s at the Apex Center in Arvada off 72nd and Ward Road, and… The run actually starts at 8, but you’ll need to get there at 7 to register if you haven’t registered online by now. And the online registration is closed. So if you haven’t registered, you have to do it in person. Okay. And we’ll have a lot of fun. And we have some nice prizes and medals. And everybody that runs gets a T-shirt. And if you finish the run, you get a dog tag. And a goodie bag.

Oh, I love it. I love it. And so you’ve had a great week. Tell us what’s been happening. And, of course, tomorrow is the main event. But the speakers that you have put together are awesome. So just give us a recap of how things have been going.
SPEAKER 22 :
We’ve been having a great week, Kim. We’ve had a great variety of speakers this year. We’re so blessed with the speakers that we’ve been able to bring up the Grand Lake. We’ve had great attendance. We’ve had some really good support from the local newspaper. They’ve come out, have written some really nice articles on Constitution Week. In fact, they’re going to put one out today as a follow-up. They came out Tuesday. But, yeah, it’s been a wonderful week. Last night was a crowd-pleaser with Dr. Thomas Cranawitter. He’s been here 13 out of the 14 years for Constitution Week. And… It was just great to have him back. He’s so passionate about and so well-researched. So that was just a crowd pleaser. And we started off the day yesterday. We did a Veterans Roundtable where we had three veterans, one from the Air Force, one from the Navy, and one from the Army. And they talked about their oath to the U.S. Constitution and what it meant to them while they were in service there. So it’s been a really good week, and today’s going to be an awesome day where we’re going to have the Sons of the American Revolution, the Colorado chapter, coming out. And at 11 o’clock this morning, this is our third annual youth appreciation. So they’re going to come out. They’re going to be dressed up in colonial attire. And they are going to teach the students all about colonial days and the Revolutionary War. And so that should be really fun. We’re offering free pizza to the students who attend this event. And then they have activities during the afternoon in the town, free activities such as bumper cars, go-karts, putt-putt golf. So we’ve got a lot of fun for them lined up.
SPEAKER 08 :
And then this evening is Alan Thomas, who is a regular guest on the show. He writes amazing, thoughtful articles or essays for us. And he also guest hosts for me as well. And so he’ll be speaking. And I love this. He’s a young guy. But I say to him, they said that. about George Washington. Those Washingtons were born old, and I think what they mean is they were born wise. And I think that’s the same thing regarding Alan Thomas. I think he was born wise.

Well, we’re really looking to his presentation at 5 o’clock, and he’s taking us back into the Federalist Papers to reveal to us what the Constitution really meant and the life then during the Constitution. framing of the Constitution. So, yeah, we’re really looking forward to having Alan. It’s the first time we’re going to have him up, and I think he’s going to do a great job.

Well, and so tomorrow, and I know he will, tomorrow is the main event. There is the parade, which is just such a taste of Americana. And I keep looking at the weather regarding the flyover. And I’ll look at it. You know, I always wonder, how do we think that we know what the temperature is going to be in 100 years when they keep changing everything minute by minute, it seems like. So right now, it looks like it’s going to be partly sunny. That means that the flyover probably is going to happen. Now, if it’s cloudy, it won’t. And I know you have to make that call tomorrow morning, right?
SPEAKER 22 :
Yeah, correct. We’ve been approved by the FAA and Pentagon and been in contact with Buckley Air Force Base. So we won’t know until tomorrow. It’s always a surprise. So we put it on our schedule as tentative because in the past when we haven’t done that, our attendees have been a little disappointed. But, yeah, the weather looks promising. probably 14 years in a row where God’s blessed us with some good weather for this event. So yeah, our keynote speaker, Professor Jonathan Turley, he flies in this evening. He will be in the parade. We’re honored to have him be a part of the parade. And then at one o’clock, he’s going to be our keynote speaker. And we are honored again to have you, Kim, as our master of ceremonies.

And this, for sure, I think is my 10th year, maybe 11th, maybe 12th. It’s been a while, and I am so honored to get to do this. It’s just a real highlight, and so I so appreciate getting to do this. Yeah, so after Jonathan Turley’s speech, we’ll kick it off. We do an outdoor concert in the afternoon. It’s a lot of fun. So, yeah, he’s going to start the concert off. And then we have a local band called Puddle Stomp, and they’re going to be playing after Steve. So we’ll have some good music in the town park with beautiful weather. And then we’re able to have a meet and greet. We’ve set that up with Professor Turley. And that’s going to be at the Gateway Inn at 6 p.m. on Saturday. And that’s a ticketed event. Equanimity is one of my intentions going into this. We’ll talk about what it means and what it is. But it’s a 10-day Vipassana, which means insight, retreat. So silent for 10 days, no phone for 10 days. How’d that go for you? It was quite a struggle. It is not a vacation.

You couldn’t say anything to anybody for 10 days?

That’s correct. That laughter indicates that you know my personality, that that’s harder for me than most, let’s put it that way, as an extrovert.

How? Okay, so you said it was an adventure to get signed up for this, so tell us about that.
SPEAKER 06 :
So it’s because it’s so popular. I have been wanting to do this retreat. I met somebody in New Orleans, Louisiana, a friend of mine, and he just said, Kurt, it’ll change your life. And I said, okay, I want to do this. And that’s been like almost 10 years now. And the closest place in New Orleans to do this was either in Atlanta or in Austin, Texas. And so you’d have to fly. And it was just – I couldn’t pull it together. And it’s part of my good vibes about moving to – yes, I’m in that – I’m trying to be in that younger generation that uses that word vibes –
SPEAKER 08 :
And the inside joke on that is Trent Luce on Wednesday, I was reading one of the ads for Little Richies and it says vibe. He goes, when did we start using that word vibe? So there you go.
SPEAKER 06 :
I guess in the 60s and maybe it’s come back or maybe it was vibrations in the 60s. But yeah, I mean, I had vibrations on this retreat. We’ll talk about that. But yeah. So part of my good vibes of moving to Denver was that there is one here. So there’s about 20 of these centers, the Dhamma Center, D-H-A-M-M-A, which is a Hindu or Buddhist word meaning natural law. And there’s about 20 in the United States, like more than nine of them are in California, as you can imagine. And you’re taught to meditate. We spent the first three days on anapana, which is like focused breathing. So we spent an entire day, and it’s nine hours of meditation. You’re up at 4.30 in the morning meditating. And you go to bed at 9 p.m. I’m making it sound extreme. There was time during the day to recover. And also, when you are meditating, you don’t need as much sleep. The brain cleansing that sleep does, it can happen during meditation. And so we spent a day on the nostrils. That’s day one.
SPEAKER 08 :
On breathing.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yes. Pay attention to your nostril and just notice your mind wandering. You know, I help people to meditate, and it’s a form of prayer. And I will tell them, like, people think I’m supposed to clear my mind. Well, good luck with that, you know.
SPEAKER 08 :
So the meditating thing, I – I’ve tried, but the next thing I know is, let’s see, I need to go rotate the tires on the car. I need to go.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah, I have a prescription for that. First of all, that is what’s supposed to happen. And people will quit meditating or they got frustrated because, oh, my mind is wandering. Well, that’s the whole game is to notice how your mind is wandering. And it would take months. I’m not there to quiet the mind. There’s no quieting of the mind in the first year of meditating. It is a practice of – I think of it as like when you go to the gym and you lift a weight. Every time you do a rep, that’s just bringing your mind back to the focus. So you have to watch that self-judgment. Oh, my mind is wandering too much and like there’s a negative self-judgment on that. That’s part of the process. It’s like if you notice that, now you can stop that and you can be really kind to yourself. It’s an opportunity. Yeah.
SPEAKER 08 :
Okay, so you get signed up for this experience. Yes. And it’s out in Elbert County, is that right?
SPEAKER 06 :
That’s right. Yeah, it’s down southeast of everything.
SPEAKER 08 :
So my mind is not wandering, but one thing connects to another. Yesterday, I was on the phone for a while with Virginia Maka. She’ll be out next week, who is the founder of Stand for the Land Kansas. And as you know, property rights is… so important. And again, while I’m mentioning that, here we go. On my mind everywhere, property rights is So important, and one of the things that we do at the Colorado Union of Taxpayers is we stand up for the taxpayer, which is everybody. If you pay sales tax, if you buy anything in Colorado, you’re a taxpayer. So we protect the taxpayer. We protect TABOR, Colorado’s Taxpayers Bill of Rights, property rights, and parental rights. So Xcel Energy is proposing this transmission line across property in Elbert County. And I was on the line for a while with Virginia. She’d done amazing research on this. And it’s a real property rights issue. So I just wanted to mention that and also my buddies at Colorado Union of Taxpayers. elbert county and you were there for 10 days so okay so you’re signed up yes drive down to elbert county yes and then you know my wife says you know what’s your intention and i said um to increase my um equanimity so the word equanimity means non-resistance non-reactiveness, but full acceptance. And this is the main goal. When they teach you this meditation technique, they say, don’t trust anything we say just because we’ve said it. There’s no dogma. There’s no rites and rituals. They’re offering you truth, but they’re saying it’s experiential truth. So one hour a day, we got to listen to a video of a teacher saying, teaching this method. And he, he just was kept saying, it’s, if you don’t experience it, if, if you do this practice for a period of time and you’re not increasing your equanimity, meaning you’re like your level headedness, then it’s not working. Then you’re either doing it wrong because he’s done it enough that he thinks it always a hundred percent works or it’s just not working. And you shouldn’t, there’s no, like, it’s not like this is not a path to heaven or, you know, a way to be reincarnated better. Um, And because some guru said so, it’s a way to live a better life because you have started to master your mind.
SPEAKER 08 :
Okay. So you get there. You drive down there and this is in Elbert County. And so there’s a sign up. You go in. How many people are there?
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah, there’s 12 of us or 15 of us, I want to say, somewhere in there. And it’s men. So mine was men’s only.
SPEAKER 08 :
So it’s all men.
SPEAKER 06 :
It’s all men. So they can only house about 15 people right now. They’ve got a nice property. It’s a beautiful property. 100% of these properties will have a walking path. And that walking path is a godsend. It’s God showing off while you’re out there in nature in the silence. And so I just, let’s see.
SPEAKER 08 :
So that’s my next question. Well, okay, you sign up. Do you greet each other? Can you talk to each other?
SPEAKER 06 :
We did then, yes. I sat at a table with three others, and I became friends with all three. Now, one of them didn’t make it past day two. And it’s hard. A lot of people leave. Actually, our group did very well. We only had one person leave. Did you get your money back? So it’s free. Everything’s free. It’s interesting that they say that because at the end – I didn’t know there was a free lunch. There is. Well, it’s charity. It’s people who have done it before will contribute dollars to make sure that you can experience it for free because they say it’s very interesting because there’s a tradition of monks and nuns. And in the Jesuits where I spent some time, they have a real charism towards – a real affection for – for begging. Like, it’s very humbling to beg for money. Kim, you might know that. You have to dial for dollars to get sponsors for the show.

My hope, though, is I am offering value. Yes. And the value is freedom that we talk about all the time. So it’s not just give me money.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah. And it’s funny. I guess I have mixed feelings on it because I really, really hate panhandlers. You and I talked about…

Okay, go ahead.
SPEAKER 06 :
There’s so much to talk about. But beggars can’t be choosers. And so if I gift you food and you were asking for food, you’re appreciative. So it makes it easier for you to be appreciative if you haven’t paid. But if you pay for the meal and then you don’t like something, everybody’s going to hear about it and you’re more prone to complain. And that actually hurts you to be complaining and as you learn when you sit.

SPEAKER 06 :
There is. The Hindu, you know, we tell the story about the Christian missionaries that would go into Hindu territories and they’d say, let me tell you about Jesus Christ. And they’d say, oh, this is great. Jesus Christ, such a good God. And they would pin up a picture of Jesus right next to Ganesh and Shiva. And because they’re just they’re like polytheists. And so they didn’t they’re like, oh, it sounds like he’s a jealous God. He wants to be the only one. That’s funny. Yeah.
SPEAKER 08 :
Well, but he is a jealous God. He is the only one. Mary Jansen said this. I love her. She said, we meditate, we call it prayer. Yes.
SPEAKER 06 :
No, it is like, and I was thinking about this show a lot in your audience, which I assume to be conservative and perhaps Christian. And actually, I really liked, I wanted to talk about how much I like Pam Long on this week, because, you know, opening up the Republican Party to… The unaffiliates. And people who are not extremely religious but might be libertarian should be under the Republican tent, perhaps. But yeah, it’s very accepting of Christianity. There’s no contradictions there. If you were a Christian and you wanted to criticize this, which would be perhaps un-Christian, but you certainly could. And the way you would do that is just to say it’s spirituality that’s not Christ-centered. You can… Take your practice and be Christ-centered. But there’s different kinds of prayer. I used to teach religion, so I’ve tried not to talk about religion on the show, but I can’t help myself. It’s like politics, religion, and personal finance.
SPEAKER 08 :
It’s like, what else would you talk about? If you can’t talk about those three things, then I’d be on a silent retreat.
SPEAKER 06 :
We’d be talking about the weather.
SPEAKER 08 :
Okay. I wanted to go back to the begging thing. Yes. And I want to stay on task because I know there’s some other things that you mentioned. But I realize there certainly is a small percentage of people that may be in a position where they cannot help themselves. And some might be from a health thing for a long-term period or there might be hard times. I get that. But that is not government’s proper role to be a government charity. And when you just give something to somebody that is capable of doing something, then what you’re doing, I think, is you’re hurting them. Because in just giving somebody something, when not offering the dignity of work and saying, you have something of value that I’m going to trade my hard-earned dollars for, I think there’s dignity in that.
SPEAKER 06 :
I agree with you. You’ve heard me say that there’s like the five stages of giving and I’ll just go through the three of them. The first one is you create appreciation. The second time you gift somebody something that you expect, you create expectation. And by the time you’re on the fifth stage. stage of gifting you’ve created dependency so and and look this is not a government operation this is a you know it’s a a meditation group i did i before i went i checked and made sure is this a cult right yeah because it easily could be i i’ve determined it’s not there’s a lot of things that are cult like or have cultish characters like you should bring your friends and they but they didn’t they didn’t push any of that there’s um but what makes a cult is like if they’re Where your cult tips into the evil is when they start separating you from your family and they start separating you from your finances. Just none of that was there. The other thing about gifting, though, is we do gift at Christmas. And you mentioned people who can help themselves. 67% of Americans work. What are the others doing? Well, 20% of Americans are under the age of 18. So if you’re under the age of 12, you should not be expected to work. And then there’s retirees as well. And then there is the disabled and disability. And so we, as a society, we do have to answer the question, what do we do for these people? They should have some human dignity and have – They should have shelter and food and the opportunity to become their best selves without having to work. That’s just – it’s always going to be in society. What I experienced – and I wanted to tell you on the last day, I burst out in tears feeling so loved. Because the retreat was hard for me because I’m such an extrovert. And you sit with pain and you sit with boredom in silence for 10 days. It’s tough. And on the last day, I was struggling and, you know, sleep deprived. The food’s amazing. The food is so good. And the people who have served you food. Do they serve meat? No, it’s vegetarian.
SPEAKER 09 :
Okay.
SPEAKER 06 :
And the food is so delicious, and these people who served it to you, that’s part of it. When you gift to somebody, you feel good. Like if you give your children a toy, it makes you feel good. And then I realized I was the recipient of that love. So I was overwhelmed by God’s love, mostly which comes to me through my wife. She loves me, and I practically unconditionally, as unconditionally as a human can perhaps, And it was overwhelming for me, and I burst out in tears full of love and joy and had a real, you know, psychological release from all the, I’m going to say, the hell of my own making in our own minds. And I got to see that. It was really good.
SPEAKER 08 :
Okay. So we’ve got, I want to make sure that we hit what you want to. And so I guess the last day, that’s what you wanted to make sure that you shared, right? Yeah.
SPEAKER 06 :
I did share that part, yeah. You know, if you’re able to do this, I do recommend it. I really did struggle. And it’s good to have a support system afterwards. It’s leaderless, this retreat. Like, if you have trouble, there’s no place to go. And this part you would love is how self-dependent you become, how independent you have to be. Like, I would sign up to go see the teacher. Did you do sign language with it? No, you could talk. You could ask a question twice a day, but it’s only twice a day. And each day felt like a week to me. And it was like – but I’d sign up to see him at noon. I’d sign up at 5 a.m., but by 9 a.m., I had solved my own problems. And I was like, oh, I can be the master of my own mind. We compare the work to training like a wild elephant. Some Buddhists elsewhere will use the phrase the monkey mind. When you sit down – and listen to your mind and hear how it just runs around, you realize you actually don’t have the control of your own mind that you think you do. So if you want to be a good citizen, you want to be a good Christian, this kind of work is really helpful.
SPEAKER 08 :
Well, I, the closest that I’ve come to this is I decided to go on a walk the other day, and I looked at my phone and I said, I’m going to leave that at home.
SPEAKER 06 :
Good for you.
SPEAKER 08 :
Then I thought, well, what if I, what if something, but I did. I left it at home.
SPEAKER 06 :
And that’s that monkey mind. Well, what if, you know, like all that worry. Yeah. And that’s, you caught it in that moment. But what if you, what if I, what if you realize that it’s kind of always there and you just, now that you catch it, now you can help it and just say, hey, buddy. We can go for a walk without the phone.
SPEAKER 08 :
Well, and I’ll tell you the reason why I had that thought is last year around this time, I think it was last year, I had my phone with me. And I live in a suburban area. And I was coming back, and there was a bunch of trash on the sidewalk. And I thought, well, that’s odd. I don’t remember that there. And then I looked over, and maybe about 10 yards from me was a bear. oh my gosh and I um ran across the street and I had my phone and I was trying to take a picture of it but I was so I did take a picture of it but um and so I went around the corner and I said as some people were out walking I said be careful there’s a bear around and I was just so animated activated and they said well we go for morning walks and it was in your front yard And so when I didn’t take my phone, I thought, well what if I see a bear?
SPEAKER 06 :
I’d rather have bear spray or a gun than my phone. I don’t know. Our bears are black bears. They’re not very dangerous.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah, so that was thrilling. We’ve got a minute left. This has been fascinating. So how would you like to wrap this up? And you’re going to stay. Karen and Lauren are going to be in studio as well. Or do you have to get out of here?
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah, I’ll be here. I’ll try not to interrupt too much, but I’ve got so much to say all the time. To wrap this up, I really changed my relationship to boredom and pain And I have a new view of like mental health medicine. I just think that we’ve got to do this kind of work first before we start prescribing meds. I mean, how many of our listeners, it’s like 30, 50 percent of Americans are on Xanax or Adderall or something, you know, Wellbutrin to help us with our mood. And if you got to know your brain, if you got to know your mind, if you got a relationship with your subconscious, you could start to understand that and release a lot of those pains and the self torture that we do.
SPEAKER 08 :
Okay. Well, I like the advice on that to get rid of the meds. I think that’s a great idea.
SPEAKER 06 :
Well, you got to have a path to it.
SPEAKER 08 :

They were forced to build. And they’re doing construction. They’re adding a lot of rooms. They’re going to increase capacity a lot. It’s really cool what they’re doing. But they’re facing these incredible, ridiculous laws left and right.

Okay, well, we’ll talk some more about that. I was wondering, how could I work the word of the day in? And I realized that I did not spell it. And many of you know that Eric, great friend of the show, passed on recently. And he always said, Kim, please spell the word vicitude. So I didn’t in the first hour. I will this hour. And it’s V-I-C-I-S-S-I-T-U-D-E. It could be regular change or succession of one state or another. or one thing to another. Number two, change or variation, mutation, mutability. Or number three, successive or changing phases or conditions as of life or fortune or ups and downs. So I guess this vicissitude of interest rates, I thought that it would be great news. And I know there’s, I know people have been waiting for interest rates to come down. And to your point, don’t wait, huh? Yeah. Okay. I know you don’t like to say, I told you so.

No, I told you. I mean, we talk about it every week when I call in, you know. Jump when you can jump. There’s people that I called that jumped, and then there’s people that wanted to wait and still wait. Okay. Because now they’re hearing two more cuts or whatever, but we’ll see.

We’ll see. Okay, but then that would increase… Demand for money then as interest rates go down.
SPEAKER 12 :
The positive of the rate being slightly adjusted is that, as Lauren always notes, the other things you’re borrowing money for, those rates went down, which means that gives you more money to put towards housing.

Well, we talk about credit cards and home equity lines and auto loans. Those go down automatically. Okay. That part’s very true.

We are really proud of this. So, you know, we had been talking about what we could do to be solution-oriented because we’re seeing that, you know, we can’t really count on our government. We can’t really count on these politicians to prioritize our own safety. We have to be our own first responders. But, you know, we’re leaving our children out there all willy-nilly with no defenses. You know, we have guns that are protecting our politicians. We have guns that protect the meat department in in Kroger for crying out loud, but we don’t have firearms defending our children. So Laura Carno over at Faster Colorado, I reached out to her and I said, hey, what can we do to help support what you do? Because they do such a great job of taking care of ensuring that our kids have some form of defense. So what we found is that they provide excellent training to arm a lot of our educators, not just teachers, but custodians, lunch ladies, anybody who’s working on staff in the school, but it was quite costly. Well, and we have a responsibility to protect our children. You have them to go off to school, and you expect that they will come home. And Karen Levine, you and I talked about this earlier this week. We’ve been friends a long time, and it seems like I just remember that you and I were going to meet. I was in the clothing business for a fitting on the morning of Columbine. And you and I just looked at each other when we saw each other. We just couldn’t believe it. And we have your teachers and your students go to school. You expect them to come home at the end of the day. And we need to protect them.

We do. And I look at the school shootings since Columbine and how it’s touched my family. And we’ve lost a student in Parkland. He was my niece’s stepson. and Evergreen is my alma mater. That’s where I graduated from. So those are places that you don’t anticipate this happening. But what has happened, and I’m certain that Teddy and Alicia would agree, is that the gun is not the problem. It’s the hearts of man, and the hearts of man have taken away the value of life. And that makes me very sad about us as human beings.
SPEAKER 08 :
Well, and a very important point. Alicia, your comments on that?
SPEAKER 14 :
You know, I absolutely wholeheartedly agree. And I realize that we do need to change the narrative. And I implore people all the time, not only through the concealed carry education that I provide, but when we have these discussions, is that we need to enrich our communities with the value of life. and to teach them how important they are and how valuable they are and how precious they are. And teach them self-confidence, self-love, because we’re teaching them the true value not only to want to defend their life, but to have respect for life. And that, you know, there are things that can be changed. And how we feel in high school, if you think back to the troubles that we had, then to the troubles that these kids are facing, they’ve just magnified and they’ve snowballed. And we’ve changed everything. the environment that they’re growing up in. And we really need to remind these kids that they’re perfect the way they were created. They are loved. They are special. And we want them to love themselves enough that they not only value their life, but the lives of others. And to, you know, normalize gun culture and humanize gun culture again, that we’re not out here to commit harm. We’re here to protect and defend. And it’s a completely different perspective.
SPEAKER 08 :
Well, and Alicia, I saw a headline that there is a shortage. Of course, we have all of these inch by inch. It seems like they’re trying to take away our Second Amendment rights here in Colorado. And one of the things is making people take more training. And there is a shortage of training right now. And that is one of the things that you specialize in, Alicia. Yeah, I think most of them are leaving anyhow to go to other states.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah, so you know, I’m there. Yeah, right. Okay, Lauren Levy, let’s go to you first. Interest rates, we talked a little bit about it. Fed lowered it a quarter point. And because of anticipated demand, mortgage rates went up. So where are we at right now?
SPEAKER 23 :
I haven’t looked this morning, but I do watch the 10-year note, as you and I talk about all the time. And right before the meeting, the 10-year note was 4.04 or 4.03. It immediately dropped to like 3.99, which right away you’re like, oh, rates are dropping. It’s 4.13 right now, I just checked. So I actually took a picture. It doesn’t really help with a radio show, of just a TV screen yesterday of where rates were on Tuesday, and the announcement was Wednesday, and it’s just a big. like you of how they’re higher now they dropped to like i would say maybe 6.1 and now they’re like 6.4 so yeah so that’s that’s what we talk about when i call in every wednesday about people anticipating what the fed what the reaction of the fed might be and what it really might be and it’s just the function of different markets
SPEAKER 08 :
I know this is very subjective. Do you think that Jerome Powell, with all the pressure that Donald Trump has put on him, is going neener, neener, neener?
SPEAKER 23 :
You know, I think they tried to bait him in his because, you know, they make their announcement that he has this press conference. And multiple people, I watched the whole thing, and multiple people tried to get him to say, you know, is this because of pressure and where do you think of all this? And he wouldn’t go there. To his credit, he just said, well, that’s not how it is in the room, you know. There was the one new appointee that Trump put in there that voted for a much bigger cut. He was the only one. So can Trump add – He’d only been there for like a week.
SPEAKER 08 :
Can Trump add – can he –
SPEAKER 23 :
add new appointees or is there a certain amount someone has to leave so there was that woman that not the woman that he’s trying to get fired right now with the courts another woman resigned okay and he replaced her he the the fed governors are appointed okay so yeah he appointed her and then if the other if he’s successful in getting this woman fired for the mortgage fraud accusations then he would he would also replace her so what’s the latest on that He wants it to expedite to the Supreme Court is what he’s asking for because the highest court that’s had it put a hold on it.
SPEAKER 08 :
Okay.
SPEAKER 23 :
You know, to look into the evidence, right?
SPEAKER 08 :
It seems to me like if he can appoint him, he can unappoint him.
SPEAKER 23 :
That’s what the court’s trying to decide. Because they’re appointed for a period of time. See, there’s the difference, Kim. He appoints them. Congress confirms them.
SPEAKER 09 :
Okay.
SPEAKER 23 :
So Congress hires them. He recommends. So he has very well unrecommended this woman.
SPEAKER 09 :
Yeah, I saw.
SPEAKER 23 :
But they have not unconfirmed her. Congress is their boss.

That’s comforting.

He can appoint a Supreme Court judge, right? But then it has to go through all the confirmation hearings, right?
SPEAKER 08 :
Right.

Congress hires. The president recommends.
SPEAKER 08 :
Okay. Thank you for clarifying that. Karen Levine, what’s your thoughts about this Federal Reserve governor that he’s trying to… We had had this discussion about, did she commit mortgage fraud? And you explained how… She could maybe not have, but are there any… Okay, so for people that didn’t know about this, what she’s accused of is you can only have one residence.
SPEAKER 12 :
No, you can have one loan for a primary residence that is a primary resident loan. Okay. And she… Bought a home is my understanding. This is really Lauren’s thing, but she bought a home with what she claimed to be a primary home. And then she went and bought another home and claimed it to be her primary home. The question is, was her intent to be fraudulent or did she actually buy the home in good faith, the first home? And then something happened in her life that caused her to move to the other home. And as Lauren has said, you are innocent until proven guilty. And so I think, you know, the rhetoric should be to withhold those principles. And I have or uphold those principles, uphold those principles. And I think, you know, us accusing her of something when we don’t have all the facts isn’t correct so we’ll see what the facts tell us and it’s just a reminder that lender fraud is very very bad and the fine is very very high and so in my practice I’m very conscientious about making sure that my actions in the world of real estate do not promote that
SPEAKER 08 :
So what do we know about this so far? Did she?
SPEAKER 23 :
They haven’t released anything. You have to see the notes, right? And more importantly, you have to see the dates. Because when you sign a loan for a primary residence, you are committing right there that it is your intention. And the word is intention, right? They can’t force you to do anything. is your intention to occupy that home as your primary residence for the next 12 months. So as Karen’s saying, things could have changed. People can lose their job, a family member can become ill, and they have to move for whatever reason, and not even within 12 months. They’re just trying to avoid people trying to get better rates by claiming primary residences. on properties that they fully know they’re going to rent day one. That’s the fraud of it. Or even just buying a home in two different places and calling them both primary residences at the same time. That’s fraud. So we have to see the notes that she signed when she took out the loans. We have to see, did she know she was doing it? Did a loan officer do something that she didn’t authorize? The other part that I find interesting is when you start digging through people’s closets, they found this on her. There’s a lot of people that work in Congress, in the Fed, and everywhere that I’d like to look at their loan documents and see who else may be trying to pull a fast one.

Well, and that’s what we work to do on the show is to search for truth and clarity on these particular issues. And Lauren Levy, you had texted over to Karen and I an article. We see the pundits, the PBIs all the time talking about affordable housing. Well, affordable housing is subsidized housing, which that means that they have to take from one person to give to another. The developer still is probably receiving the rental rate
SPEAKER 23 :
on everything but the taxpayers subsidizing but if we wanted to really get serious about making housing affordable you sent over an article that was most interesting you know it’s just interesting for me to as much as we talk weekly on the phone and come in here and do this show when we have topics that we talk about to then see it take its place in real life because it makes it reinforces that what we’re talking about really is important and it happens so That was an article that I found, because Karen and we talk about all the time about, especially after the Marshall Fire, I think, and the rebuild about how they’re going to try to make these homes extra fireproof and certain types of lumber and all this stuff, that stuff comes with a cost. And you want to have affordable housing, but then you’re adding all these fees to the cost of the home by increasing requirements. And so the article is simply about all these different towns more than counties. and the fees they add through regulation to the cost of an average home. And it was about $87,000, I believe it was, roughly around there. And every town was different. There were some that were cheaper than others based on their regulations that they require, whether it be the water tap to hook up to the public water or… whatever it is that they require, the more regulation they add every time adds fees because builders have to meet those regulations and that costs money. So there’s almost a hundred grand in the cost of every home right there before they even dig a hole.
SPEAKER 08 :
Wow. Do you know, Karen, of all these apartment buildings, do they have all these regulations as well?
SPEAKER 12 :
They have similar regulations. Do they? They’re, in many cases, not as stringent per se. But I was just thinking, as Lauren was speaking, fire suppression. Fire suppression in high-rise apartments has always been not always present, but it was probably instituted there. But to make a homeowner of a single-family home now have a fire suppression system in their home, so new construction, I don’t know the cost of that, but I’m going to say it’s $20,000. You add that to the cost of an entry-level home, which our conversation yesterday with a group of people was entry-level is $600,000, and you just added $20,000 because of fire suppression. I am very, very sad for the people who lost their homes in the Marshall fire, but that was a hundred year occurrence and all our houses are not going to catch on fire and they haven’t caught on fire. You know, this was a very odd set of circumstances. So you look at that. And so our old, elected representatives they’re supposed to be representing us but they think they’re official have chosen that they have to take this extreme measure to ensure our safety the other thing that’s ironic is that water damage from a fire suppression system is much greater than the fire itself so we say to each other let’s bring affordable housing to our marketplace and yet let’s charge $87,000 in policy.
SPEAKER 23 :
The other part of it, Kim, is there’s already someone out there that’s affecting every homeowner now that’s watching out for the fact that we can have a house that burns down, and that’s your homeowner’s insurance. So they’re making, put these fire suppression in there, but the homeowner’s insurance is still… doubled and tripled on most people. So when they go to buy a home or anyone that has a home now is seeing that bill come and it’s way higher than it ever was because they’re worried about a fire. So now you’re paying double. Well, you’re paying twice the fire suppression system and the insurance.
SPEAKER 08 :
So I remember when I was on city council, Karen, that what we were seeing is the building code people meet every few years. And what I realized is then you could have interested parties that might attend those meetings to encourage them to put things into building codes. as they update those. And that was a year that the fire suppression people were trying to force that into the building code that people would have sprinklers in their homes. And so I talked to our head building inspector and I said well I’d like to go see construction and see what this looks like because this looks like this could increase the cost and there’s always the the possibility of water damage and so he so we’re out on a construction site he said and Kim do you realize that you’re the first elected representative that’s ever gone out on a site to look at anything so here you have all these electeds that through influence are putting in these rules and regulations and they haven’t even gone out to take a look at what that really means and when we talk about representatives that is their duty as representatives of the people
SPEAKER 12 :
Well, one of the other things in construction that is frustrating to me is we’re trying to electrify our houses. And homes that were built in about the late 70s, we couldn’t get copper, and so they couldn’t run copper wiring. That’s incorrect. It had to do with natural gas. and they couldn’t get the piping to run natural gas, and their natural gas hadn’t come into the street. So they used electric baseboard heat, which was great. They were able to pivot because of what the supply and demand was and bring a home to the marketplace. So in my career, I have watched those homes with electric baseboard heat sell for less dollars than a home with gas-forced air heat, right? The perception in the marketplace is electric is more expensive, gas-forced air is more affordable. And now we’re having policy move us to electric. And I’m thinking to myself, why has choice been taken away? Why am I going to be required to have an electric range when I prefer to cook on a gas range? That’s the question. Isn’t that the freedom of America that I have choice in? And when you go to buy a new home, if you would like a heat pump, then go buy from the builder that’s putting in heat pumps. But don’t make all builders required to put in a heat pump.

And that’s, my friends, is how housing gets $87,000 more expensive. Yes, ma’am. Okay, well, we’re going to go to break here in just a moment. It is great to have you, and we’ve got about 10 minutes. What do you want people to know? You’re going to be the keynote tonight. And just give us kind of a primer of what you’ll be talking about.

Well, I think the reason I’m doing this is because there are There are lots of good, you know, pro-freedom, good conservative networks out there, organizations, you know, like Tom Fitton’s Judicial Watch and the late Charlie Kirk’s Turning Point USA. And I rate CPAN as right up there as one of the most effective conservative advocacy groups in the country. You know, their work on the transgender issue and family and social issues in Colorado is followed and modeled all over the country. And I think Laurie Gimmelstein has done a fantastic job of putting this together. So what I’m going to be talking about is, you know, why families matter, why… I’m going to be explaining that America is really in a revolutionary situation right now. It could go positive. It could go negative. We’ve got a deep polarization of our society, and I want to talk about why that’s happening, who’s doing it, how we can fix it, and why we should bother. The purpose of what we’re doing. So I want to go pretty deep tonight, but I want to give people a real sense of hope and urgency and get people to get behind cpan i really it is one of the the key organizations in america that that other people are copying so that’s going to be the basis of my talk
SPEAKER 08 :
Well, and a little bit of bragging rights on the show, our show, is that Lori told me that we were the first place, the first radio show that she talked about these issues as she and others were founding CPAN. and then also Erin Lee with Protect Kids Colorado, and we were the first show for that as well. And so we’re on the forefront in the battle with all of these great voices, Trevor.
SPEAKER 13 :
Yeah, well, and congratulations to you. Like Erin has highlighted, the forcible transitioning of children, The networks that are set up out there to basically seduce children into this weird, perverted type of lifestyle. I think a lot of people don’t understand the deliberate nature of this, the subversive nature, the grooming that’s going on. And so that’s something that CPAN and Erin have highlighted a lot. They made it a big issue. Colorado is really ground zero for this kind of thing. You know, we knew that, you know, many years ago, four very wealthy individuals, you know, Tim Gill and his friends, set about on a plan to turn Colorado blue. They turned a red state into a very blue state. And we’d looked at the economics of that. We looked at how the unions are involved in this sort of thing. But a lot of people don’t realize how much the education system was also used to turn the state blue, how the teachers unions were co-opted and all of this kind of thing. So we’re going to be talking about this tonight and we’re going to be talking about how to fight back against this. Because if you don’t care about your kids, if you don’t care about your grandchildren, you don’t deserve to live in a free country. And that’s why I love CPAM, because it’s focused on saving freedom by getting the bad influences away from the kids, by giving kids a real decent education system, again, free of indoctrination, free of this over-sexualization and all this kind of thing that is deliberately pushed by the left. We need to understand this is deliberate, we need to understand the mechanisms, and we need to understand… how to push back. So I think this is a vital event tonight. I think it’s going to be great. We’re going to delve into some depths, but I hope to send people out there energised and getting behind CPAN and its efforts. I think it’s going to be a very positive night tonight.

I think I hear hope in your voice. So talk a little bit about that because you’ve realized that there’s very dark forces out there.
SPEAKER 13 :
Yeah, look, I spend most of my days delving into these dark forces. I’m constantly researching in libraries. I’m interviewing people. And I have no illusions about the dark forces. But, you know, know the truth and the truth shall set you free. Once you know the truth, once you take the blinkers off, once you confront reality, there’s actually a lot more hope. Because you’re not in a fog of misunderstanding. You’re not in a fog of denial. So my research into the radical left, and it’s very deep. I’ve been doing this close to 40 years now, actually. And I’ve interviewed everything from former KGB officers to top communists to radical feminists. You name it. The whole lot. And you can see that dark side of human nature. You can see what they’re doing. But you also get inspired. You know, we’ve had some big changes in this country in recent times. The election of President Trump, you know, nobody would have predicted that years ago. The inspiration of people like Charlie Kirk and the massive, massive impact he’s had on young people. You know, all of these things are inspiring. I think we’re living in a time with a battle between good and evil. The fog has cleared away. We are really starting to see evil and good people are coming forward. Good people are getting off the fence. And we’re only in the situation we are today because good people have been too lazy and too complacent for too darn long. And the COVID and the Black Lives Matter and the horrible things that were done under the The illegal immigration, massive surge of illegal immigration, all these things done in recent years have made evil much more stark. You can’t deny it any longer, but that is bringing much more good out. And that’s very hopeful to me.
