This is a special edition of The Mike Gallagher Show. The Charlie Kirk Memorial. And now, from Phoenix, here’s Mike Gallagher.
SPEAKER 02 :
We’re glad you could join us for this special episode. We are in Phoenix, as the man said, getting ready for Sunday’s memorial service. Some breaking news. Yesterday, Turning Point announced that Erica Kirk will become Charlie’s successor. And to everybody who knows her, this couldn’t be a better move because she’s a warrior. He, of course, was a warrior. And I came across a clip last night that I wanted to start the hour with. This is Charlie, not long ago, actually just weeks ago, being interviewed about this. the way he lived his life. And, you know, there are a lot of people who are starting to say that Charlie is going to be more profound and impactful in death than in life. That’s probably because there’s a body of work that he leaves behind, thanks to the Internet, thanks to the digital era we’re in, that will be with us forever. And as the country grows, mourns his loss the country is also embracing his legacy and he was asked just days ago actually in an interview what are the rules you live your life by
SPEAKER 07 :
Last question. What is a quote that you live by?
SPEAKER 08 :
Boy, a quote that I live by. I’m a big I’m a Christian. I wear it on my sleeve. So quotes would always probably always be Bible verses. This is a I’ll give you two. One is actually not the Bible. It’s more mythological. And one is actually in the Bible. The first is not the Bible. It’s this too shall pass, which was actually people think it’s in the Bible. It’s not. But it’s King Solomon’s phrase, which is really amazing when you think about it, because it’s good no matter what season of life that you’re in. Um, if you’re going through the worst of times, this too shall pass and things are going to get better. If you’re going through the best of times though, it’s really humbling. Like this too shall pass and this will fade away because this will not last forever. So I love that. Yeah, exactly. So it’s a, it’s a time transcendent truth that applies towards all, uh, periods as an entrepreneur. It humbles you when you need it and builds you up when you need it, gives you hope when you need it. And also gives you a little bit of a dose of a gut check. One of my favorite verses, though, is Romans 8, 28, which it says that God works all things for good for those who love him. It’s a very freeing and liberating verse for those of us that are Christians, because we believe that when things can be really bad, God is working it for his good, his perfect and pleasing will, which is a very, very hard teaching when you come across business closures or staff layoffs. But it’s very liberating that God is working all things towards an ultimate good. So I love that. And it kind of is very freeing that I don’t have to be in charge of everything. And there is a God and I’m not him. And I surrender to his will.
SPEAKER 02 :
Wow. Days ago. Tracy, can you, or Christian, can you guys get the date of when he said those words? You talk about a foreshadowing. You talk about wisdom from a young man, wise beyond his years, who reminds us all that this too shall pass. We’re going to be okay. Do you feel that right now? Are you feeling that in your heart? I have to admit, I walked into the studios today. We’re in Phoenix. Just a beautiful radio station. And a team, Mark Durkin, Jeremy, these folks here. It’s good to see old friends, even under these difficult circumstances. And I was all set. We got all the technical stuff all out of the way. And, you know, broadcasting from different locations around the country is never the easiest thing in the world. I walked down the hall. start to come into the studio, and there’s a giant poster on the wall of Charlie Kirk, Mike Gallagher, Larry Elder, a big event we had here just a year ago. And it brought back a flood of memories of getting to share a stage with Charlie. We all signed it. Charlie had a bizarre signature, just a squiggle. It looks like a caterpillar. You couldn’t make out the words Charlie Kirk if you were on the witness stand. He signed it, Larry signed it, I signed it. We had a great moment there. Christian’s been playing the B-roll from that particular event because I was singing the national anthem or God Bless America, whatever I did, and we were having this event. And it was a room full of patriots here in Phoenix. And all those memories come flooding back. And I’m going to admit, I’m struggling a little bit. I’m struggling with this question, are we going to be okay? I mean, we’re witnessing people who are prominent people with millions of supporters, like Keith Olbermann. Whatever you think of him, I guess people like him. I guess he makes money. And he posted that Charlie is rotting in hell. On social media. He chose to tell all the people around the country who are mourning Charlie, holding vigils, praying for him, praying for Erica, praying for his family, praying for his parents. Keith Olbermann saw fit to say, rot in hell. Black Lives Matter walked through Times Square last night in New York City saying, go to hell or rot in hell, Charlie. And all kinds of other I just wonder, are we going to be okay? And when I wonder something like that, I turn to you because there’s nobody with more clarity, nobody with more generosity, no one with more just precise logic at a time like this. And maybe I need you to lift me up a little bit. I always try to lift you up. Maybe it’s your turn. So let me just ask. Maybe you don’t feel like we’re going to be okay. I don’t know. Are things going to get better? Are they going to get worse? I want to start there, here in the Relief Factor studios, as we preview the Charlie Kirk Memorial Sunday over at State Farm Stadium. 1-800-655-MIKE. 800-655-6453. I’ve got a pretty simple question. Maybe one of the simplest questions I’ve ever asked you. Are we going to be okay? And I just want to let you take the ball and run with it. Because I don’t know. I don’t know. I don’t quite understand how people can be so cruel in the aftermath of the assassination of a young man. So I’m just going to ask you, are we going to be okay? Do you feel that spirit of optimism and faithfulness that Charlie had in his heart? You tell me. 800-655-MIKE. You know me. I love full lines. So let’s go off and running. You can call or text. We’ve got the MyPillow text line up and running here in Phoenix. Look, Jeremy and the gang here and Eric Hansen’s with me. Nothing’s going to go wrong technically. Watch as I say that as the light falls down and hits me in the head. As the meteor comes crashing down. I’m telling you, I’m in a weird place today. So let’s see what you think. 800-655-6453. Charlie is right. Charlie is absolutely right. Biblically, spiritually, I know that this too will pass. Will it? 800-655-6453. I hope you join us. Celebrating the life and legacy… of our friend and colleague, Charlie Kirk. Ph.D. weight loss has changed my life, and I’ve got a little secret for you. You know Big Pharma and semaglutide and the shots in the belly. You’ve seen the story recently about the study that shows that a lot of people that are getting this are going blind. SPEAKER 13 :
Mike Gallagher.
SPEAKER 02 :
There’s a live view of Washington, D.C., our nation’s capital, on Salem News Channel as you maybe make your way through your life today. Of course, we’re heard on AM570, The Answer, in D.C. as well. You know, I just was told that I thought that that clip from Charlie was from a few weeks or days before he was killed. According to my team, and I think this might be true, it was the morning he was killed. This was taped the morning he was shot and killed. This was on Fox Nation, and it was filmed at the Restaurantology Summit in Salt Lake City, Utah. And Charlie was speaking apparently with Andrew K. Smith, managing partner of Savory Fund, where Kirk discussed entrepreneurship, the growth of Turning Point, his leadership philosophy, and creating a lasting movement. I want to play it again. Imagine Charlie uttering these words the morning he was killed.
SPEAKER 02 :
That’s the guy that a demon like Keith Olbermann thinks is burning in hell. A guy sharing his testimony. A guy who is witnessing for Christ any chance he got. And demon, I don’t use that word lightly. That’s the right word. We are dealing with some really dark, demonic stuff right now. Regardless of anything you felt about Charlie Kirk and his opinions, his philosophies, his politics, to call that young man, to describe where he is now like Keith Olbermann did, and I know he did it for attention, I know he does it for clicks, and I know he wants, but it’s demonic. And so you wonder, are we going to be okay? Will this pass? A lot of text messages on the MyPillow text line here in Phoenix. Yes, Mike, we are going to be all right. If you believe in Jesus Christ, then everything is going to be fine. And another text from Phoenix. Thanks, Phoenix, for joining us today on the MyPillow text line. I’m one of the most optimistic people, Mike. However, this has knocked the air right out of me, and I’m still trying to recover. This, too, shall pass, but it’s going to take a while. See you Sunday, honoring Charlie here in Phoenix. Roberts in Jacksonville, Florida. Robert, welcome to Phoenix. You’re on the Mike Gallagher Show. Hello.
SPEAKER 06 :
Hey, Mike, how you doing, bud? Hey, I just wanted to let you know and just try to encourage you. You know, John 10, 10 states that these comes to steal, kill and destroy. But Jesus came that we may have life abundantly. So I just wanted to encourage you today and encourage the listeners that by believing and having faith in Jesus Christ. We will get over this. We will have abundant life. And his grace is enough. Thanks, Mike.
SPEAKER 02 :
Amen. Perfectly put. Thank you, Robert. I appreciate you very much. Kathy in Rockville, Maryland. Hi, Kathy. Welcome to Phoenix. How are you?
SPEAKER 04 :
Very good. Thank you. I was sitting here yelling at you, Mike, over the radio. Because when you said I’ll be okay, I just, I thought, oh my gosh, God is in control. Charlie did his work on this earth, and now our army is going to rise. We should feel joy that we feel God’s movement across this earth.
SPEAKER 02 :
Amen. Perfect. Perfectly put, Kathy. Thank you. I’m glad you yelled at me. Thank you, Kathy. I appreciate it very much. You too. Got a little bit of a delay here going on, guys, so we’ll try to get that worked out. 25 past the hour. They call it latency in the business, so we’re going to see if we got a little access glitch here. So we’ll fix all that. But, boy, you’re making me feel better. I’m feeling better already. Look at South Carolina’s text. Mike, we went through a civil war once. We were greatly divided. We were okay and we will be okay again. Here’s Florida. I don’t like talking this way, but the fact that Charlie’s life was stolen from us and we still have to put up with Keith Olbermann is just depressing. And I get that completely. I agree with that. It’s hard to believe that people like this exist around us. And, you know, he has a right to hate Charlie Kirk. You have a right to hate anybody you want to hate. And this isn’t a rights issue. Jimmy Kimmel didn’t lose his TV show over any kind of a rights issue. He doesn’t have a right to have a talk show for a private company if the private company doesn’t want him anymore. If TV stations don’t want to carry his… I heard a newscast driving into work today. I got so mad. The newscaster said, oh, now President Trump is threatening to revoke the license or take away shows that are on the airwaves that don’t agree with him. It’s not what he said. It’s not what he ever said. FCC grants licenses to radio and TV stations. We’ve got to serve the public interest. If you’re lying routinely… The FCC has a right to check it out. Just, we’re in some weird times right now. And classless Kimmel, don’t worry, he’ll have a job. You don’t have to worry. If you love Jimmy Kimmel, you’ll find him somewhere. He ain’t going away. And he’s not going to apologize. Every single day, it’s a joy to remind you that portions of our show are sponsored by MyPillow. As you know, our friend Mike Lindell, big legal victory last week. He’s been in a ton of hot water, as you know, because he believes in election integrity. Of course, due to his friendship with President Trump. Well, last week, there was a $5 million judgment against Mike that was overturned by the courts. Good news for MyPillow. So you keep praying for MyPillow, and you keep supporting this great American company. The premium MyPillow, limited time, great price, $18.98. If you go to MyPillow.com, this pillow is a godsend. SPEAKER 01 :
If you’re a foreigner and you’re out there celebrating the assassination of someone who was speaking somewhere, we don’t want you in the country. Why would we want to give a visa to someone who thinks it’s good that someone was murdered in the public square? That’s just common sense to me.
SPEAKER 13 :
In the ReliefFactor.com studios, here’s Mike.
SPEAKER 02 :
I keep thinking about what Greg Gutfeld said this week, that we’re tired and we’re sick and we’re not doing the whataboutism anymore because the two sides aren’t the same. There are extremists, of course, on every side of every issue. There are extremists on the right. There are extremists on the left. There are probably extremists in the middle. But the whataboutism, there’s nothing that is the same as what we’re experiencing in terms of political violence. It’s fascinating to me, again, the gaslighting, that horrific assassination of the Democrats in Minnesota. You think I’m making this up? Look it up. The killer was mad that his apparently fellow Democrats sided with Republicans. and blocked illegals from getting government benefits. That’s what he was mad about. He wasn’t a conservative. Conservatives aren’t going around assassinating people. And they know it. The left knows it. And we’ve got to stop this whataboutism. Well, again, you don’t have to stop the whataboutism. You can do it all day long. I got Fred in Columbus who’s been calling repeatedly for two days that wants to argue, I guess, with me about what he calls the moral equivalency of the rhetoric on both sides. Okay, we’ll talk to Fred. You’re allowed to do that. It doesn’t matter. Because Americans are fed up. Americans are done. We’re finished with it. There is no moral equivalency. There is no, well, look at this side. Look at that side. They do it. We do it. No, no. We don’t want you dead. We disagree with you. Charlie didn’t want anybody dead. Charlie wanted to persuade. We want to convince you that our side is the better way to go. But if you don’t do it, if you don’t agree, you don’t agree, it’s okay. It’s America. But in the leftist version of America, if you express a viewpoint that they disagree with, they want you dead. All right, Fred, let’s have it. You’ve been calling and calling and calling. Let’s dive in with what it is you want to talk about, about the both sides-ism. Go ahead.
SPEAKER 10 :
If you give me a fair hearing, and this may surprise you, I work for the largest GOP political consultant in the country. I’ve done that for 25 years. I’ve been personal friends with somebody on the Trump cabinet since they’ve been 19 years old. I won’t tell you who it is.
SPEAKER 02 :
By the way, let me just inject, let me just insert this before we go. Every caller, every call that goes south starts with somebody like you having to give your bona fides about how you’re a good Trump-supporting, Trump-voting Republican. Just observation. Just observation.
SPEAKER 10 :
Go right ahead. I’m a Trump-disliking conservative, Mike. There’s a difference. You’re a Trump-disliking conservative? I don’t believe Trump is the man to lead the movement. And I can explain why. But, you know, I don’t know if you really want to hear from me. Not particularly.
SPEAKER 02 :
I mean, what good is that going to do? Who cares? Don’t take this the wrong way. Who cares that you are a Trump-disliking conservative? What are you going to bring to the table, Fred?
SPEAKER 10 :
You just accused me of giving my bona fides before I tell you I don’t like Trump. You did.
SPEAKER 02 :
Well, I didn’t accuse you. I just made an observation that once again, somebody calls, I’m a conservative, I’m a Republican. I’m just asking you, and I’m… Can you please stop? Hey, Fred, can you stop interrupting me, and I won’t interrupt you. Okay, please. Take your time. Take a breath. You want a fair hearing. You know how a fair hearing works? I get to talk. You get to talk. Okay? So I’m going to give you all the time you want, because I know you’ve been… calling a lot. You want your voice heard. We want to hear your voice. I want you to tell me why you think this audience grieving Charlie’s death and being mystified and aggravated at Keith Olbermann and people like him saying that Charlie’s rotting in hell. Why do we think you telling us that you’re a Trump-disliking conservative is germane to what we’re all going through? Go ahead.
SPEAKER 10 :
Okay. First of all, thank you. I was only interjecting because, you know, I don’t want this to be contentious. I realize that’s part of the business model, but, you know, it’s not why I called. If you want to talk facts, first of all, let me say with Charlie’s death was horrific. It was public. He was an important voice. He was talking to kids. And I mean, there’s just I mean, it was a national it’s in the national conscience, much more so than the Minnesota lawmakers. Absolutely. 100 percent. just based on reputation alone. But if you want to do facts, I’m happy to do facts. If it’s going to be a they, like I heard one of your callers say they want to – this was one kid in Utah, as far as we know, who was from a conservative family dating somebody that his family didn’t approve of, and he went – he was a wingnut. That doesn’t – that is not a conspiracy made.
SPEAKER 02 :
Okay. Let me respond to the, this was just one kid. How many people are in the street? Let me ask you a question. You said this was one kid. This is a one-off. This is just a lone, twisted, evil, one person who got a gun and assassinated Charlie Kirk. How many people are in the streets of America this past week celebrating Charlie’s murder? Well, you tell me how many. You know the answer to that. Don’t get cute. I don’t. Don’t be cute. You want to be smart and you want to sound like you’re clever? Don’t be cute. Are you that? Are you so much in a bubble you haven’t seen all of the people marching around? Last night, Black Lives Matter in the streets, St. Charlie Kirk, Rest in Hell, all the people that are celebrating. You’re going to pretend you don’t know how many people are in the streets celebrating Charlie’s death, Fred?
SPEAKER 10 :
Hey, Mark, Mike, what I’m saying is I don’t know the number. There are people that have celebrated it 100%. That’s not one kid, is it, Fred?
SPEAKER 02 :
No, no, let me go a little bit further, Mike. If you’re open. That’s not one kid, is it, Fred? That’s not one kid. That’s actually, one could describe that as a movement. How many people, how many conservatives did you ever see celebrating the murder of somebody on your side? I can give you some. Go ahead. I can give you some.
SPEAKER 11 :
Go ahead.
SPEAKER 10 :
Please do. Donald Trump Jr. Paul Pelosi, 82-year-old man, gets attacked by a hammer, fractured skull. The assailant was a right wing nut. Donald Trump Jr. the next day posted a pair of underwear and a hammer and said, I’m going as Paul Pelosi to Halloween.
SPEAKER 02 :
Not good. Now, how many people in the streets? Not good. How many people in the streets? I mean, Donald Trump Jr., of course, a provocateur. And as I’ve said before, there are examples. As you say, you call them wingnuts. You’re going to tell me. Again, stop interrupting me. You’re going to tell me that you don’t think that there is a substantial number of people celebrating and reveling in Charlie’s murder. You know what? Here’s the bottom line, Fred, and I don’t want to spend all time on this. People are already annoyed at this conversation. Let me just put it to you this way. We care about you being a Trump-disliking conservative about as much as we care that you want to do a whataboutism about this. There is no whataboutism. Hey, Fred, these days are over. These days are over, pal. They’re over.
SPEAKER 10 :
Mike, look, let’s just forget. Let’s look at facts. You like the Cato Institute, right?
SPEAKER 02 :
A conservative… Fred, nobody cares. Look, again, I love calls, and I love perspectives that I don’t agree with. I’m just so bored with you, and I’m so over people like you. We get it. And you’re motivated by your dislike of… of Donald Trump. Like my friend Mark Davis loves to say, Trump derangement syndrome takes people like you, nice people like you, makes you mean, takes smart people and makes them dumb. That’s what Trump derangement syndrome does. And Fred, we get you. We understand it. You’re a dime a dozen. There’s lots of people that are never Trumpers who like to call themselves Republicans. And even without realizing it, you’re besmirching the memory of Charlie who helped get the guy you dislike, elected. And you know it, and I know it, and this audience knows it. That’s why you’re having a hard time today. The other thing you’re having a hard time with, and let’s just accept it and let’s face facts, people like Fred, it’s like vapor in the wind. They used to have some clout. They used to have some juice. They don’t anymore because we don’t care. You can do the whataboutism all day long. Doesn’t matter. There’s nothing that comes close. Here’s a meme I saw last night. It was something like, I’m paraphrasing, oh, you mean to tell me that Charlie had the right to say whatever he wanted to say, but Jimmy Kimmel didn’t? That was an actual meme that made the rounds, probably in your circles, Fred. Well, Charlie Kirk isn’t going to come home to his wife anymore, like Jimmy Kimmel is. Whatever moron would say, well, wait a minute, what about-ism? Charlie got to say whatever he wanted, but Jimmy Kimmel doesn’t? They killed him, Fred. Charlie’s dead. Jimmy Kimmel’s going to just change jobs forever. And that whataboutism is about as relevant as us sitting around listening to you wax nostalgic about why you’re a Trump-disliking conservative. Did you notice how Fred, he thought it was so smart to say Trump-disliking? No, no, no. You’re a Trump hater. We can see you coming from a mile away, Fred. And that’s okay. That’s America. You don’t like Trump? You hate Trump? Knock yourself out. Now, go call somebody who cares. 16 before the hour. More coming up.

I’m getting a bunch of texts from the Carolinas, people who are blown away by the brand new transmitter at 98.9 WORD. Here’s somebody in York, South Carolina. Mike, this is awesome. I don’t know what you guys did, but I can now hear you guys in Charlotte, all over. I’m in Monroe. I get the signal all throughout North Carolina. Yeah, well, I appreciate you noticing. They just put in a brand-new, huge transmitter so that 98.9WORD, the voice of the Carolinas, is truly heard. the voice of the Carolinas, with a big powerhouse stick, as we call it in the radio world. So that’s pretty cool. All right, let’s go. Let’s get a bunch of calls here. 23 before the hour, kind of in an emotional mood, walked into the studios today and saw the big poster outside our broadcast perch here at 960 The Patriot. There was a poster from just last October where Seb Gorka, Larry Elder, Charlie Kirk and I were on stage. You got that poster, Christian? Moderated by Seth Leibson, the wonderful, wonderful host here on 960, The Patriot. And it just took my breath away. We all signed it. I remember when we were all backstage in the green room. Look at Charlie’s squiggly signature. He should have been a doctor. He could have been a physician with that signature. But there we all were laughing on stage. There we were united. There we were, just joking and fighting for the country. The Battleground Talkers Tour from 960 The Patriot. And that’s a memory that will stay with me forever. George is in Rockwell, Texas. Hey, George, welcome to Phoenix. Thanks for joining us. How are you?
SPEAKER 11 :
You got it, Mike. Thanks for having me. I appreciate it. I’m doing well.
SPEAKER 02 :
You bet. You bet. Glad you could call.
SPEAKER 11 :
Yes, sir. Hey, I wanted to finally get around to calling you on this. Charlie Kirk’s assassination and the link it had with me emotionally with the 9-11 event 24 years ago, where I ran for my life from those towers, and I remember the cowardness of that. And, you know, hearing what happened to Charlie Kirk really just brought those emotions back up. And it’s just a sad world we live in that we have cowards like that. And I just felt compelled to call you and simply just state that to get it off my chest because, It never ceased to amaze me how poorly we communicate with each other here now. And it just weighed me down until today. And dialing your number for a couple days and hanging up, I just couldn’t get the words out. So just an emotional call. Sure. Thank you for listening to it. I appreciate it.
SPEAKER 02 :
Well, you got the words out and we know exactly where you’re coming from. We share where your heart is and I get it. Look, for a lot of young people, this was their 9-11. That’s the cruelty of what so many people on the left don’t seem to recognize. There are millions of high school and college kids. who were so deeply impacted by Charlie’s legacy and what he represented, and they’re grieving. They’ve never seen an assassination. And look, this was done right in front of their eyes. There is definitely a spiritual component to all of this, and I’m so honored to lean into that part of it. Valerie in California wants to talk about the spiritual component of what we’re suffering through and what we’re experiencing as we get ready for Charlie’s memorial ceremony, his service here this Sunday. Hey, Valerie, welcome to Phoenix.
SPEAKER 05 :
Thank you, Mike. I really appreciate you, and I know all your listeners do too. And I just want to thank you for holding all of us up. Um, and I, I share your concern. Are we going to be okay? And I just want to tell you every day, I’m reminded that we are going to be okay. God is in charge and we know he wins ultimately. And our job here is to be faithful, to pray, to love our neighbors and to be like Charlie Kirk, be honest and truthful and bold about our faith. And, uh, I just want to add one thing. Keith Oberman was describing what’s in store for him unless he repents.
SPEAKER 02 :
And maybe he will. Maybe someday he will repent. Look, we are all, all sinners. We have all failed. We have all fallen short. And I always appreciate the power of redemption, the love of Christ, the understanding that, you know, if you receive him, if you’re willing to open him up, open up your heart, anything can happen. With God, all things are possible. And if indeed what we see happening in the last eight or nine days continues, we’re going to see a real spiritual and cultural revival in America. Look, we’re done tiptoeing around. We’re finished. This can’t continue. This is unsustainable. To destroy somebody’s life because of their ideas and their thoughts and their words? To celebrate it? So, look, good people have to stand up. Good people have to be counted. Good people have to not be afraid anymore. And that’s a good thing. Again, this movie, Faith of Angels, I can’t wait to share a little Mooga review for you here on the Mike Gallagher Show. Just having a very important visit here. I’m glad. I’m honored to be here. I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. And I’m glad I could bring you with us to Phoenix for Charlie Kirk’s memorial service.
