SPEAKER 03 :
From the wild world of D.C. politics to America’s culture clash, brace yourself for the reality check you’ve been waiting for. The one and only Mike Gallagher.
SPEAKER 02 :
Isn’t it crazy at the way the news cycle works these days that we have this horrific shooting in Washington, D.C. of the two National Guardsmen. We have this horrific scandal unfolding out of Tim Walz’s Minnesota. It’s almost like one of the biggest stories gets buried. President Trump declared… over the weekend that anything signed by Joe Biden’s auto pen has been revoked. Do you realize how big that is? And that’s almost like incidental to everything else that’s going on. All executive orders issued by auto pen are canceled, according to President Trump, because Biden wasn’t even involved in the process. I mean, there have been a lot of constitutional questions about the use of the auto pen. And with Biden, was the man even coherent enough to know what was even being discussed? for the auto pen. It’s a fascinating story. Welcome in. Can you believe it? We’re in December. The Christmas season is upon us. I hope you had a blessed, happy, healthy, wonderful Thanksgiving. I was talking to a friend of mine this morning about his Thanksgiving nightmare. It was something right out of planes, trains, and automobiles. which I always forget to watch over the holidays. But I’m reminded that it’s a great holiday movie. It’s a comedy with the late, great John Candy and Steve Martin. And my friend Tom and his family went through something that was right on par with that. I was able to enjoy a nice, relaxing, peaceful New York City Thanksgiving doing all the traditional stuff that I like to do. I got to go to Radio City, see the Rockettes. I do that every year. It puts me in the Christmas spirit in the biggest way. Somehow the left has managed to avoid canceling the living nativity, which is a beautiful reminder of the reason for the season. And they still do that every year without fail at the end of the big Christmas spectacular. Which I love. I mean, you’ve got the donkeys and the camels. And there’s Mary and Joseph. And it’s just, Hark the Herald Angels Sing. I mean, it’s like the way it’s supposed to be. It’s the meaning of Christmas. You’ve got to love that. And I do. And I hope you had a chance to… kick off everything, and I wonder how bad things got over Thanksgiving dinner with people who don’t agree politically. You know, that was sort of a pre-Thanksgiving rumor. I’m curious. Any good stories? Any knockdown drag outs over turkey and stuffing? Anybody have a drunk uncle story about… You know, some loony leftist who started popping off over the Thanksgiving meal? Because, you know, let’s face it. Families and friends gather at Thanksgiving, and you don’t necessarily always see those same family members, and not everybody’s going to agree. Politics come up at your table? I’m curious. If you’ve got a good story, share it with me. 800-655-MIKE. Because it’d be kind of fun to hear some knockdown drag outs. My knockdown drag outs might be over Christmas when I’m going to have most of my family together. And believe me, we are not all like-minded politically. And the one kid I’ve got who’s on board won’t be there at Christmas. which is kind of sad, but it’s unfortunate, but it’s unavoidable. So I’m going to be on my own. Wish me luck. I’m praying politics doesn’t come up. It might be a long week. But how about you? Any fun stories at Thanksgiving where you mixed it up with your leftist cousin from Berkeley? or your Trump-hating aunt from Washington State, I’d love to hear a good… Look, I like gossip. I mean, I’m really bad about it, but I do. I like gossip. I like that kind of speculation. I like that kind of innuendo. I love all that kind of stuff. Go ahead and give it to me, both barrels. How did it go at Thanksgiving? Any fun story you want to share? 800-655-MIKE, 800-655-6453. I mean, we’ve got a lot of serious stuff we’re going to dig into here at the Relief Factor Studios, not the least of which is this massive, massive Minnesota scandal. And there’s waltz on Meet the Press yesterday railing about Trump’s alleged cognitive decline. But, of course, Trump got a jump on him because Trump called Waltz a rather unfortunate word the other day on Air Force One, and he was asked if he wanted to take it back, and of course he doesn’t. Is retarded back now? I know it’s on social media. One of the most popular social media accounts that for some reason always winds up in my timeline is retard finder. It’s unfortunate because it’s not a word that’s polite. It’s not a word that’s very nice. I think about families with special needs kids. Trump was asked about it. because Trump officially referred to the Minnesota governor as being seriously retarded. He was asked about it in a follow-up on Air Force One.
SPEAKER 01 :
And you called him what many Americans do find an offensive word, retarded. Do you stand by that claim of calling Tim Walz retarded?
SPEAKER 11 :
Yeah, I think there’s something wrong with him. Absolutely. Sure.
SPEAKER 01 :
You don’t have a problem.
SPEAKER 11 :
You know what? I think there’s something wrong with him. Anybody that would do what he did, anybody that would allow those people into a state and pay billions of dollars out to Somalia. We give billions of dollars to Somalia. It’s not even a country because it doesn’t function like a country. It’s got a name, but it doesn’t function like a country. There’s something wrong with walls.
SPEAKER 02 :
The Minnesota state employees took to social media blasting Tim Walz of bearing full responsibility for the massive fraud that has drained the state’s social services programs. It’s a catastrophe. I mean, the New York Times wrote a huge, huge piece about it over the weekend, and I’m not sure that any of the Sunday morning shows even touched it. Headline, New York Times, how fraud swamped Minnesota’s social services system on Tim Walz’s watch. We’re not talking tens of millions. We’re not even talking hundreds of millions. We’re talking billions with a B. Somalians have apparently been running a racket that has turned Minneapolis and St. Paul into the Medicaid fraud capital of America. And so I think President Trump is right to call waltz out. Is he wrong to call him retarded? I’m a little intrigued. Are you okay with that word coming back? I mean, it’s an unfortunate word. It’s a word. I mean, it’s just a word. But I got to believe there are plenty of people who think it’s hateful and hurtful and mean. I’m curious. What about you? Maybe I had too much turkey and stuffing last week. Maybe I’m just too filled with holiday cheer. Maybe you think I’m filled with something else. But not a word that I think ought to be used with any kind of regularity. But then again, maybe I’m… Just being soft. 800-655-MIKE. 800-655-6453. Jam up my phone lines. We’ll put you front and center because it is Christmas music bumper time on the Mike Gallagher Show. I was very specific with Eric about what I want to hear this Christmas season. All through December, you’ll hear some of my Christmas favorites. Maybe some of yours as well. But in the meantime, let’s talk about the Minnesota fraud scandal. We’ve got to get to the National Guard ambush. Horrific story. 20-year-old woman killed in the line of duty while patrolling the streets of Washington, D.C. We’ll get your reaction to all of that. But maybe we’ll just start with the use of the word retarded. Are you uncomfortable with it? Are you okay with it? Is it problematic for you? I saw a lot of people on social media say, oh, this is great. Make America great again. We brought back the word retard. I’m not so sure. Maybe you could change my mind. 800-655-6453. I hope you join us. You ready to drop up to 20 pounds or more by the new year? Have you been struggling with belly fat forever? From the wild world of D.C. politics to America’s culture clash, brace yourself for the reality check you’ve been waiting for. The one and only Mike Gallagher.
SPEAKER 02 :
We had a lot of catching up to do. Happy Monday. It’s the first of December. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Hope you were able to spend it with family and friends and loved ones. I’m in the Christmas spirit in a massive way, so brace yourself. We’ve got, I think, some of the best Christmas bumper music all rolled out and ready to go. I’ve got a playlist that I came up with with Eric earlier today. Hope you like it. It’s kind of a combination, a little eclectic. It is traditional. It’s movies. I love the Home Alone Christmas score. I love the score from the Home Alone movies. And that’s the great John Williams. I got the tree up. You want to see my Christmas tree? Follow me on X. At Gallagher’s show, something weird is happening on X. When you lose followers like 100 a day, what’s happening there? Because I’m not doing anything differently, and I like X, and I get into X. We get a lot of show material from X these days. It’s become my sort of go-to social media site, but I’ve been steadily losing followers, and I wonder why. I wish I understood, like, what causes that. Because nothing’s different. I just get in there and do my best. I mean, look, admittedly, I’m not a raging, name-calling, over-the-top, looking for clicks and engagement kind of a poster. But I think my stuff is compelling and good. So why would there be, like, a steady decline only for the last week or two? So maybe you’ll reverse the decline. Follow me at GallagherShow. I’ll do my best to follow you back. And incidentally, here’s a little tip. If you want me to follow you back, say something nice. If you say something nice, then I can see your post, and it’s easier than kind of going through all the list of followers and trying to follow everybody back. Maybe there’s a setting where I can just follow everybody. But I do. I appreciate X a lot. Anytime there’s breaking news, it’s a great social media site to go to because you get a lot of updates in real time. There was a lot of information about the shooting of the two National Guardsmen in Washington, D.C. last week that was in real time. Sadly and regrettably, there were some graphic videos that were hard to watch. That monster, that coward. That terrorist went up and, you know, tried to execute both of them. The young lady, the young woman died from her injuries. The male National Guardsman is fighting for his life. And as Congressman Mike Turner put it on CBS over the weekend on Face the Nation, this is like textbook terrorism. This is right out of the terrorist playbook.
SPEAKER 05 :
This is classic terrorism, and this is where an individual who tries to break the heart of a nation who doesn’t enact a murderous act right before Thanksgiving.
SPEAKER 02 :
And that’s what it is. That’s what terror is. It tries to strike fear into our hearts. It was right before Thanksgiving. My heart just breaks for these families and what they’re going through right now. There was a lot of blaming going on right off the bat. Well, he came in on Biden’s disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal, but then they turned around and pointed out that he was vetted and approved this year during the Trump administration. And so that’s… I always… I’ll probably get in trouble for saying this, but I think it’s such a big mistake… to instinctively blame our political opponent when somebody commits an act of violence like this. And this has sort of evolved over the years. Remember when that Bernie Sanders Democrat nearly killed Steve Scalise and wanted to kill all the Republican congressmen playing baseball? We didn’t blame Bernie Sanders. We didn’t even blame the Democrats. We blame the shooter. And we’ve gotten away from that. The blame game can be a dangerous thing to do. Look at this case. This is a peculiar case. This guy apparently worked with the CIA in Afghanistan, which is inevitably why he was vetted and allowed to stay under the Trump administration. To quote President Trump, the guy went cuckoo. He was apparently radicalized. But two things can be true at the same time. While it’s probably wrong to try to blame the Biden administration or the Trump administration for this guy, we have a problem with people coming into this country from third world countries who wind up doing us harm. This is a problem. Kristi Noem pointed the problem out on NBC News over the weekend, saying that under the Biden administration, there were thousands and thousands, maybe millions of people brought into America who, you know, the Biden attitude was, oh, let’s bring him in now, and let’s vet them later. Well, in this guy’s case, they brought him in then, and then we vetted him this year, and look what he did. Here was Kristi Noem on NBC’s Meet the Press.
SPEAKER 07 :
You need to remember that when this abandonment of Afghanistan happened, the Biden administration put people on airplanes, brought them to the United States without vetting them. They brought them into our country and then said they would vet them afterwards. And then at that time, to do a good job of vetting people, you need to have cooperation of that government that is from their country. You have to have a stable government that will give you information, contacts, background information and information. biometrics that you may need to identify that individual, their dates of service. All of that vetting information was collected by Joe Biden’s administration that was used and in the process. So President Trump, thankfully, has completely changed that. We are now using all social media content. We’re going after what they have been doing with their contacts, their biometric data information we are collecting. Now, when we vet individuals under this administration, we know who they are, why they are here and going through that. Unfortunately, this individual, that entire process happened under Joe Biden’s watch.
SPEAKER 02 :
Now, again, I get why the Homeland Security secretary says that. And she is right. that there’s been an open border policy that Trump is closing and fixing. But do you understand where I’m coming from when I share with you how uncomfortable I am when somebody commits an act of murder like this, when somebody commits an act of violence, and we look for some entity to blame? The Trump assassins. the Trump would-be assassins. Oh, are they Democrats or are they Republicans? Oh, he’s MAGA. No, he’s not MAGA. He was MAGA, now he’s not MAGA. We look to blame political movements, political parties, and politicians when somebody commits a horrific act of violence. And I think that’s a mistake. I believe that’s wrong. You might take my head off for feeling this way, but I just hate it when this happens. Because right off the bat, it was like, oh, see? Biden opens the floodgates and look what happens. This guy doesn’t fit that narrative. This guy worked with the CIA. They knew who this guy was. And in President Trump’s own phraseology, he went cuckoo. He was radicalized evidently while he was here. perhaps before, during, or after being vetted. I don’t know. I hope he gets the death penalty. It was a horrific act of violence. But it’s wrong, this knee-jerk response that we all, and I do it too, we all do it. Oh, it’s their fault. Look at what they did. No, it’s the fault of the guy who pulled the trigger. And I’m going to go out on a limb here and say it’s possible the two things can be true at the same time. We have a massive problem of tons of people who were led into this country by the Biden administration and the Obama administration. Trump is doing his best to fix it, to clean it all up. But that doesn’t mean that in this case… It’s accurate to blame the Biden administration for what this guy from Afghanistan did. Does that make sense? Do you see it the same way? Let’s find out. 800-655-MIKE. 16 past the hour. Welcome in. It’s great to be back in the saddle after a few days off for Thanksgiving. I want to see what you think about my, and I kind of dreaded even sharing this with you because I don’t want to make it look like I’m being squishy here. I am fully aware, and you won’t get an argument from me, that they have opened the floodgates, and it’s insane, and it’s out of control. But in this particular case, when this is a guy who was evidently working with the CIA and they knew him and they trusted him and they vetted him, I don’t believe it’s accurate to blame the Biden administration for what happened last week in Washington, D.C.
SPEAKER 12 :

We’re talking a little bit about this guy who shot and killed one of the National Guardsmen, the other National Guardsmen fighting for his life. I think they were both shot in the head. He ambushed them. Obviously a cowardly, evil, terroristic act. Is it proper to blame the Biden administration since he came over here as part of Biden’s disastrous Afghan refugee program? Hey, Jim, welcome to the show. How are you, sir? I’m fine. Thank you, sir. How are you? I’m great. I’m great. Do you get what I’m saying about the blame game that we all tend to want to play over after something like this happens?
SPEAKER 10 :
Yeah, I do. I understand that. But I actually have a question about the vetting process.
SPEAKER 02 :
Sure.
SPEAKER 10 :
I understand it. the vetting was not as good as it should have been. There was an audit that showed that the vetting was, there was a big breakdown in the vetting. And I keep hearing that this shooter was a CIA operative over in Afghanistan. But has anybody that actually worked with him come forward and said, yeah, that was really him? Or, I mean, did this guy use somebody else’s name?
SPEAKER 02 :
Well, it doesn’t sound like him working with the CIA has been in dispute, but I want to go back to what you said about the vetting process because, look, this is what happens when you get a tidal wave of people in here. You’re going to have people that are going to do harm. I just don’t think this is one of those cases. This seems to be a very peculiar, bizarre, weird, weird story. Now, Kristi Noem and the Homeland Security Secretary and ABC’s John Carl got into it big time. Check out this exchange on ABC.
SPEAKER 06 :
He was admitted to this country by the Biden administration. That’s 100 percent correct. Twenty twenty one. But he was granted asylum by the Trump administration in April. So did you see any red flags, John? Did you see any red flags?
SPEAKER 07 :
All the information that was gathered on that vetting process was gathered under the Biden administration. His asylum claim application started under the Biden administration. That information was provided by them and the responsibility lies with them. And we need to know that and speak the truth of how this entire process happened so that we can fix it. That’s what President Trump has been doing and dedicated to, is that when we look at people who deserve asylum, they have to be thoroughly vetted. They weren’t under the last administration. That has completely changed under President Trump.
SPEAKER 06 :
But again, he was granted asylum in April. So President Trump had already been in office for several months. You had been in office. Are you saying there was no vetting done by the Trump administration? You were simply relying on what had been done under the Biden administration? You did no vetting before granting him asylum?
SPEAKER 07 :
The processes put in place were put in place using information that was gathered during the application process that happened under Joe Biden. And that has been completely fixed. And new metrics and new processes have been added under President Trump. He immediately went to work and we put in place under USCIS. the new data and new information that can be gathered, such as, you know, communicating with governments, getting information from them and making sure that biometric information and dates of service match up. Much of the information that was gathered and provided by the Biden administration wasn’t thorough and wasn’t done. And what kind of a crazy world is it when you have a president that allows millions of people to come into this country unvetted, not knowing who they are, from countries that perpetuate terrorism upon the United States. And when we saw during Operation Allies Welcome was over close to 100,000 people that were allowed to come to the United States that Joe Biden said, you know what, we’ll vet them after they get here. We’ll let them into our country and then we’ll vet them after they get here. And then they didn’t do it. They didn’t do a good job and it wasn’t complete and thorough. And that’s what is being fixed right now.
SPEAKER 02 :
And, of course, she’s right. I’m not disagreeing with any of that. I just think what worries me about the blame game that we all tend to play, and I’m as guilty as anybody, you look for a vulnerability over your political opponents. When you do that, you sort of absolve the person who pulled the trigger. There’s no accountability for them because, after all, we can blame a political party. Am I wrong? 800-655-MIKE. 800-655-6453. SPEAKER 03 :
In the Relief Factor studios on Salem News Channel and Salem Radio Network, here’s Mike.
SPEAKER 02 :
I hope you’re feeling a little bit Christmasy. Hope you’re feeling like you’re in the holiday spirit. I got my Christmas fix. I love going to the Radio City Music Hall Christmas Spectacular to see the Rockettes and Santa and the Living Nativity, which is always so beautifully done at Radio City Music Hall. It always puts me in the holiday spirit. I love the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Took that in. Did some Christmas shopping. But the best part of the holiday for me is getting to see kids receive Christmas presents from their incarcerated parent. We call it the Angel Tree Christmas Campaign. And it’s put on by Prison Fellowship, and they’ve done this for years. Now, I’m coming to you humbly because we had a spectacular first few days. We right now have over 1,450 children sponsored. But we’ve got a long way to go. And I’m going to be very blunt with you. We’ve lost a little bit of the momentum today. I need you to please step up. Because with your donation of $30, you’re going to save Christmas for a child who has a mom or dad or maybe a mom and dad behind bars. The beauty and the miracle of the Angel Tree campaign is that that child is going to get a package of gifts from their parent in jail. They don’t know that you’ve sponsored that package. The message is a personal message from their mom or dad. And see, Angel Tree and Prison Fellowship need your help today because we’ve got 25 days until Christmas. When you make a generous donation by going to MikeOnline.com, their volunteers immediately connect with a boy or girl who has a parent in prison. They set the process in motion and do what needs to happen to make that child’s Christmas come alive. Again, $30. Your donation will bless a child with a present, a Bible, and a personalized note from their parent. So the earlier you can make a donation, the sooner the Angel Tree volunteers can line up all the details to save Christmas for another child. And what I love about this campaign is that many of these kids get saved. Many of these children accept Jesus as their Savior because of your actions. Now, we had a wild first few days. Look at this, 1,452 kids already sponsored. And you’ll see the total on the banner when you go to the banner, the Angel Tree Prison Fellowship banner at MikeOnline.com. Right now it says 1,457 out of 4,333 children. That’s the magic number, 4,333. So we’re not quite a third of the way there yet. But I have faith in you, and I need you today. In fact, Christian, bring it back to me for a moment because I’ve got to look into the camera and I’ve got to implore you to please go to MikeOnline.com and let’s have a massive, epic day because if we can get to 1,500 kids, maybe 1,600, we’re going to be on pace in the month of December to get to our goal. But the earlier you do this, the sooner the Angel Tree folks can identify a child and get all the information the process in motion. And I’m a little nervous because today we’ve only had several kids sponsored. I have to admit, I started out the hour sharing that I’m a little bit down in followers on X and I don’t know why, although a lot of people have been texting me saying, Mike, same thing’s happening to me too. I’m losing followers left and right. Something weird is happening with the algorithms or the followers. I don’t know if there’s a purge going on at X. I mean, I’ve been losing like 100 followers a day and I don’t know why. So I have to admit, I’m a little down, and I’m more down about sort of slowing down our momentum a little bit in our Angel Tree campaign. So, hey, let’s get to 1,500 kids today. Can we? I know we can do it. We were doing 300, 400 kids a day last week. And so far today, we’ve only had five or six kids sponsored. $30 delivers a Christmas present. A spiritual gift of a Bible and a personal message from the mom or dad in prison. Please open your heart. We need you more than ever. Please go to MikeOnline.com and watch the counter grow. You’ll see it. It takes about two or three minutes to populate your donation. But please, please, please step up today. Because if we can keep the momentum going, we’ve got a chance, just a chance, to hit our big goal of 4,333 kids. It’s a massive goal. But you’ve never let us down. You’ll really feel like you’re in the Christmas spirit. Please, please give to our Angel Tree campaign, our Christmas campaign. It’s here. It’s December the 1st, mikeonline.com, mikeonline.com. And thank you, thank you, thank you for blessing these children because there’s no audience like this one. Let’s show the world how generous. how gracious, how loving Americans can be. You can go to mikeonline.com to make a donation. Portions of our show are sponsored by Fellowship Home Loans. Every day I get to tell you about how interest rates are lowering right now. I appreciate the text messages I’m getting agreeing with me about the blame game after the shooting, like the one in Washington, D.C., of these two members of the National Guard. California writes, Mike, you are spot on with the blame game issue. Unfortunately, it’s done every day with both political parties’ favorite newscasts. Bottom line is the terror and the radicalization to vulnerable, impaired, or weak-minded individuals is where terror can blossom. I’ve got a lot of friends and family from the other side politically, but no one is shooting people. I’m glad you made the point today that it’s the individual who is ultimately to blame. Here’s a text from Covington, Kentucky. Mike, thank you for correctly pointing out that we must blame the shooter, not a political party. You are so right on the blame game. Well, if you disagree with me, let me know. We had a caller earlier, William, in South Carolina, but unfortunately he hung up. He disagreed with me. That’s okay. I want to find out, if you think I’m right, that two things can be true at the same time. The Biden administration created a refugee catastrophe in America. But this guy doesn’t necessarily fit that explanation. He doesn’t check that box. Adrienne’s in Tennessee. Hey, Adrienne, how you doing?
SPEAKER 08 :
Good. I disagree with you. I’m sorry. Yeah, the person that killed that woman and shot the man, yeah, I do blame them. Biden allowed them to come in. OK, there’s different vetting from working in Afghanistan and different vetting when you come here. It takes months to vet a person. Sure. And there’s no data system in Afghanistan. It’s a third world country. The guy could have said whatever he wanted. And that’s like saying if my neighbor allows somebody to come into my house when I’m away and they rob my house, my neighbor’s responsible. But, yeah, the person that robbed my house is responsible, too.
SPEAKER 02 :
No, no, no, I get it. It’s a really good point. The only problem in this case, Adrienne, is what’s troublesome is they knew, the government knew this guy because the CIA worked with him in Afghanistan. Yeah, but it’s a different vetting. Different vetting. Well, I get that. But nonetheless, this guy… Look, I’m not going to argue. You’re so right that the Biden administration’s policies led to a catastrophic refugee system. I just believe that we instinctively want to look at the other political party and say, Aha! It’s your fault that this happened. And in this guy’s case, I mean, like Trump said… This is a guy who went cuckoo. Here is Kristi Noem again. She had a lot to say about this suspect, and she told John Carl at ABC News on this week, this guy could very well have been radicalized while he was here living in the United States.
SPEAKER 07 :
Since he’s been here, we believe he could have been radicalized in his home community and in his home state. So as we continue to talk to his family and his contacts, more details will be revealed and we’ll release those when it’s appropriate. But this is something that for these individuals, when they’re brought into our country, it’s a dangerous situation. If you don’t know who they are, if they’re coming from a country that’s not stable and doesn’t have a government that can help you vet them, that we shouldn’t allow it.
SPEAKER 02 :
And I looked and to Adrian’s point again, going back to you, ma’am, you’re right. If if there wasn’t this tidal wave of refugees here, he wouldn’t have been here. But of course, their argument is he shouldn’t have been approved and vetted by the Trump administration. So I just think it gets too it’s too convoluted. It’s too. lazy to say, aha, somebody shoots somebody and somebody kills somebody, somebody shoots up a place, we’ve got to blame this political party. It’s not that easy. Especially not in this case. But hey, if you disagree, don’t worry. We’ll put you front and center here on the Mike Gallagher Show. 800-655-MIKE. 800-655-6453. So felt its worth. A thrill of gold. The wind…
