We’re learning about the judge that released her, a magistrate judge who didn’t even have a law degree. I didn’t even know that was possible. How can you be a judge without a law degree? And, of course, a lot of people are insisting she is a perfect example of DEI. Right. It turns out there was a clerk involved in the process of releasing Irina Zarutska’s killer, who was all about DEI, all about equity, all about race-based initiatives. So here’s the irony. As the left screams that MAGA is making arenas, killing a race fueled MAGA conspiracy theory. They’re the ones whose race based policies lead. to the freedom of a lot of dangerous, violent, awful people. So Eric Matheny over on X writes, Arena Zarutska will be a turning point for criminal justice in America. Gone are the days of gentle policing and defunding police departments and replacing police officers with social workers. That social experiment has failed, he writes. Either that, or you’re going to see vigilantism skyrocket. People are going to take the law into their own hands. None of that is good. None of this is good. And here’s the decision I have to make. I mean, there’s blood all over the floor, of course, but it’s not like the movies. where somebody gets their throat slit. I mean, you don’t see a lot of blood. You see her with her hand, her knees are kind of tucked up under her chest, and she’s looking up. Her glasses were obviously knocked off when he stabbed her, and she’s looking up at him like, what did you do? Why did you do this to me? Her face is filled with terror and fear, and she died an agonizing death, obviously. alone, because nobody really did anything to help her. Here’s my question, and it has begun spirited debates right here in our own studios. Should we air that video on Salem News Channel? Do you want to see that video? And, of course, if you’re not watching Salem News Channel, through the text line, we can make the video available to you if we choose. But I want your help with this decision because I don’t know. Tracy, my producer, came in very emotional today. She said, no, absolutely not. I saw it. I had nightmares. People are tearful. People are shocked. People are flabbergasted at the behavior of the other passengers. There is an argument that people are making that every American should be forced to see this video, that we need to see the result of these failed policies that feature a revolving door so that monsters, so that demons like this guy can roam the earth. The argument is you should see it. Tracy’s argument is don’t put it on Salem News Channel. Don’t put it on our platforms. If you want to go out and find it, you can. Now, the reason I’m sort of leaning towards Tracy’s position is because I saw a statement issued by the family of Irina Zarutska asking people not to view the video of the slaughter of their precious loved one. I don’t want to hear his words. But you’re going to hear about the interview. You’re going to hear about the recording. Benny was one of the first ones to post it. You can follow Benny on X. as I do, but I’m not going to play that. I just did it on the break, and the man is an evil lunatic, this DeCarlo Brown. He’s nuts. He thinks that the government planted a chip in his brain, and he thinks that the woman, the victim, was eavesdropping on him or reading his mind or some nonsense. And you know what’s going to happen? You know what’s going to happen, right? They’re going to find him not guilty by reason of insanity. You be ready for that. Now we’ve got the President of the United States calling for the death penalty. They’re going to prosecute him federally. But if you hear the audio recording that has just been released of him talking to his sister, and you hear how completely unhinged he is And calm. He’s very matter-of-fact. The materials did that. I didn’t do that. That’s not me. The material that the government put in me made me do it. And something about she was reading my mind, and I had to stop her from reading my mind. And all he’s going to do is talk like that before a judge or a jury, and they’re going to say the guy’s a total, complete… Mental patient. And his family is on record as saying they wanted him locked up in a mental institution. You know the social media saying bring back the asylums? Look, there is something to be said for involuntary confinement. Because there are people walking among us who should not be walking among us. Clearly he’s one of them. So, you know, we got a couple of competing issues here. What happens to him, what his fate will be, is one thing. And how the criminal justice system handles it will be, you know, we’ll see how that all unfolds. To me, the most important issue is the issue of criminal justice or social justice reform. The system is broken. The system doesn’t work. And the system has been controlled largely by Democrats who believe it’s racist to incarcerate a black person. They believe it’s racist to have a person of color behind bars. Listen to Zoran Mamdani. Don’t take my word for it. He’s on record. Oh, the jails are too crowded. We’ve got to let people – people are in jail too much. We’ve got to let people go free. Here was Caroline Leavitt yesterday. She did a masterful job from the White House press briefing podium explaining the sheer evil – that the Democrats have unleashed with their disastrous policies.

I would like to address the tragedy that has not received nearly enough media attention, the brutal murder of Irina Zarutskaya. Here are the facts that many outlets have shamefully and intentionally failed to report until President Trump drew attention to it. On August 22nd, Irina Zarutska was stabbed to death on the rail system in Charlotte, North Carolina, by a savage career criminal. This is a public transportation system that many in the area use every single day to go to school and work. Irina was on the train that night traveling home from her job at a pizzeria, still in uniform from her shift. This beautiful, innocent 23-year-old young woman was a Ukrainian refugee who had recently fled her country for a chance at a safer life and a promising new beginning here in the United States of America. But tragically, a public transportation system in a major American city was more dangerous than the active war zone that she left. The president and the entire White House are praying for her family and friends during this unimaginably difficult time. But while we extend our thoughts and prayers, we must also seek justice for this crime and call attention to this heinous incident. Surveillance video of the killing was finally released to the public this past Friday. It shows the alleged killer, DeCarlos Brown Jr., pull out a knife. Get up from his seat behind Irina and prepare to thrust a blade into her neck before the released footage gets cut. This is pure evil on full display. The most enraging and unacceptable part of this story is that her death was entirely preventable. DeCarlos Brown never should have been on that train that night. In fact, he should have been behind bars. DeCarlos Brown has been charged with crimes no fewer than 14 times, dating back to 2011, including for armed robbery, felony larceny, breaking and entering, and shoplifting. Brown had previously served five years in prison for a robbery with a deadly weapon charge, and he had also forfeited bonds three different times, twice in 2014 and once in 2023. Despite all of this past documented criminal history, when Brown was arrested yet again in January of this past year, a Democrat judge… who I will add was a supporter, a strong supporter of former Vice President Kamala Harris, released this insane criminal once again without requiring him to pay any bail. He simply had to sign a written promise to return for his court hearing. Think about how crazy it is to ask a career criminal, someone who by definition repeatedly breaks the law, to just sign a written promise and come back again another day. This is madness. This monster should have been locked up. An arena should still be alive. But Democrat politicians, liberal judges, and weak prosecutors would rather virtue signal than lock up criminals and protect their communities. And perhaps most shamefully of all, the majority of the media Many outlets in this room decided that her murder was not worth reporting on originally because it does not fit a preferred narrative. Many of the journalists in this room spilled plenty of ink trying to smear Daniel Penny for defending a subway car from a deranged lunatic in New York City. But none of those same reporters lift a finger to write stories about an actual murderer. Here is the truth that every American must know. Too many innocent people across the country continue to pay the price of the failed experiment known as cashless bail that has been championed by the Democrat Party for years. All the way back in 2020, North Carolina’s then Democrat Governor Roy Cooper established a so-called task force for racial equity and criminal justice. Sounds nice, but it’s not. That task force was co-authored by then Attorney General and current Democrat Governor Josh Stein. It recommended, quote, reimagining public safety to, quote, promote diversion and other alternatives to arrest. It also advised to de-emphasize some felony crimes.

White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt is spot on, as usual. She’s 100% correct. He should have never been on that train. It’s the policies, the failed Democrat policies that are called social justice or criminal justice reform. That’s what needs to be addressed and has to change. Charles is in San Antonio addressing the question of whether or not we should share the video that has, since Caroline’s press conference, it did end right before he stabbed her before the video, but now the entire video has been released to the general public. My question to the audience is, should we release it or not? Charles, what do you think?

And honestly, I think the correct and ethical thing to do is honor the family’s wishes and not, not post that, um, post that video. Cause I don’t think it’d be horrible if it was a loved one of mine and watching that person’s experience and go through every stab. I just, I don’t think it’s necessary. I think we know what he did, you know, and the evilness of it all. That’s my two cents.

I’m going to respect the grieving family, a family that said she loved the United States so much that they’re going to bury her here. They’re not even going to return her to her native Ukraine. They’re going to bury her here in the United States. And I’m going to honor the family. The family does not want the video to be shared. The family does not want the world to gawk. at her final moments the way those gutless passengers on that train did, not making any effort to help her. There was finally one guy. You know, you think about it. She bled to death, and she was conscious, and she was awake, and she was aware, and she was looking around with terror in her face. She was holding her hands to her face and her throat. If somebody had applied pressure to her neck to have stopped the bleeding, could possibly she have been saved? We’ll never know because these morons were sitting around videoing her, getting out their cell phone and taking pictures of her. Disgusting. Disgusting. And, you know, those people are going to have to live with their action or their lack of action for the rest of their lives. But to your point, you’re right. We’re not going to post it anywhere. We all sort of live in our own bubbles, right? We hang out with people that, you know, are like-minded. We tend to gravitate to people that we agree with. We have people in our lives who agree with us. And in my case, I don’t mind having people in my life who don’t see the world the way I do. It’s beneficial. I think it’s helpful. I think it’s important. And, you know, I made no secret of the fact that I was married to a Democrat. Denise and I disagreed on a lot of things. We agreed on fundamental stuff. And as I like to remember, maybe it’s just wishful thinking, maybe I’m trying to rewrite history, but as I recall, when Denise was alive and we would have these debates about politics, she was more of a blue-dog Democrat. She had a big heart and she wanted to save the world, and that’s kind of who she was. But she was not this lunatic, radicalized, far-left politician. progressive of 2025, okay? But I do listen to people who don’t agree with me. I have people in my life who don’t agree with me. I think that’s okay. I think it’s important. And one of the criticisms that I hear from the other side is that we have used DEI as a way to bludgeon anybody we don’t like who is a person of color. You don’t like Kamala Harris. You call her a DEI hire. You’re a racist. You don’t like people of color. Now, you can gently point out, well, wait a minute. Her boss, who now she is apparently throwing under the bus in her new book, Kamala Harris is blasting Biden as being irresponsible for staying in the race as long as he did. So, so much for loyalty from Kamala. Because the only reason she had any national profile was because of him. But he announced, I was going, I’m going to find a black female. He telegraphed a DEI decision. It’s diversity, equity, inclusion. I’m going to find a black woman. He found a black woman. How’d that work out for the Democrats? Not so well. Is she DEI? She’s the definition of DEI. But Democrats bristle at that. People on the left get angry at that. They say, you guys on the right, you just claim that anybody you don’t like is DEI, as a product of DEI. Well, what about the judge who released Arena Zaruska’s killer? DeCarlos Brown Jr., we know by now, was arrested 14 times. This guy was a walking, talking monster. The governor, the Democrat governor of North Carolina is saying, oh, we need more cops. This isn’t a cop problem. They arrested him 14 times. Your judges let him out. Your judges let him go free. Now, this is fascinating. Is this starting to make sense? Did a woman die because of DEI? Just a couple months ago, a guy shot five people on New Year’s, and Judge Archie sentenced him to a year and a half for shooting five people, a year and a half. This is a DEI court, and they have blood on their hands. And if the people in robes are on the same side as the bad guys, that’s suicide. Are you okay with the country committing judicial suicide? I’m not. DEI died when Kamala lost. It’s illegal. And releasing felons with dozens of arrests for social justice is a crime against the country. They’ve set up these dangerous DEI courts in cities nationwide, catching and releasing criminals to prey on innocent people. These courts need to be systematically dismantled. And that needs to happen immediately.

In other words, the qualification isn’t their qualification. The qualification is, are they black and are they female? And this has happened over and over again. You look at that report from Jesse Waters and the insanity that he revealed that the entire court process that led to the liberty, the freedom of Irina Zarutska’s killer, it’s a trio of black women. I think it will because I agree. I totally agree with you. I’m a black woman and I did not vote for her because, I mean, I don’t know what her credentials are. I never heard of her until the election, honestly, or like until her vice presidency or whatever. But she just doesn’t have the discipline and the commanding presence of a of a president. I didn’t really see it. She’s kind of goofy.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah, but doesn’t my question make sense? I mean, as a black American, wouldn’t you be offended if I said, now, Stephanie, I’m your president. I’m going to find a vice president or a Supreme Court justice or a member of my cabinet, and the number one qualification is going to be I want them to be a black female. I mean, don’t you feel… I mean, I just have to ask you, because if I’m black and I have somebody tell me, well, I’m going to find somebody whose qualification is their race instead of their actual merit, the merits of what, that just seems so condescending and insulting to me, Stephanie.
SPEAKER 09 :
Yeah, no, that’s offensive. Because race should not be in politics. It doesn’t matter. Right, right. I don’t care who’s in charge. They’ve got to be able to do the job. I don’t want a black person because they’re black. I think that’s what Obama won, honestly. I don’t know, but a lot didn’t get done that should have got done.
SPEAKER 04 :
I got you. I got you. Well, look, I think the DEI aspect of this story is so important. Race is important. And the reason race matters, I’m not into, I get that people like to say, well, the disproportionate amount of black on white crime or black on black. To me, crime is crime. Evil is evil. And there are racists who are bubbling up. who are saying really awful things in response to this terrible, terrible murder in Charlotte, North Carolina. To me, though, when you make race the central theme of public policy, when it becomes all about diversity, equity, inclusion, when it becomes about a race-based public policy, And that’s the whole nature of criminal justice reform. Look at leftists and what they say about criminal justice reform. Social justice. Too many times black people have been unfairly incarcerated. Too many times people have been unjustly convicted of a crime. So now it’s time to… Turn the tide and free black people from prisons. We played a clip from Zoran Mamdani this week. He’s, to this day, saying we’ve got to let people out of jail. They’re going in directly the opposite, the complete opposite direction. Makes no sense. Last night, Jesse Waters had Kevin McCarthy, the former House speaker on his show, asking this question that I ask over and over and over again. Why aren’t Democrats willing to take a tough on crime stance as a response to these horrible crimes? And by the way, this isn’t just Charlotte. You heard about what happened in Auburn? Auburn, I think Auburn, Alabama, the professor walking her dog. Did you hear what happened to the couple in New York City? An elderly couple, parents of a firefighter in New York, an FDNY, I think he was a paramedic. He’s a paramedic. His parents, his white parents, were tortured, terrified, held hostage for hours, brutalized, burned alive, killed. And these stories happen, and you have to, and again, it doesn’t happen because a black person committed the crime. It happened because that individual should never have been out. That person should never have been free. Here was Jesse and Kevin McCarthy talking about the failure of Democrats to have a normal response to these horrific stories. Why can’t Democrats, why wouldn’t Democrats want to be tough on crime? It’s the never-ending question.

You’re also not hearing the name Irina from any national Democrat. Why won’t they say her name?

Well, you know what? Not just… a pox on the Democrats, but for the whole media. Think about that. That murder took place three weeks ago, and you never heard about it. But compare that to what happened. I was appalled when I saw after she was stabbed, people just walked by. Yeah. But what did you do in New York when that Marine Penny took down that guy who had been arrested 42 times to protect that subway? He had to go to trial. They spent millions of dollars trying to put him in jail. So you wonder why somebody didn’t help her, right? So why didn’t they help her?
SPEAKER 08 :
Is that because they’re scared of what could happen next? There’s no heroes anymore. Why is that?
SPEAKER 07 :
Why wouldn’t somebody go? It could have saved her life. Just put your hand on her neck. Stop the bleeding. Jump in when someone jumped her from behind. Wouldn’t you want that if it was your wife, your daughter, your son out there, someone to help defend? But why? And when it took place on the subway, you watched every media, CBS, all of them portray This Marine is somebody negative when he stood up to protect a car. Right. And the guy was arrested 42 times and he only used what he was trained in the Marines to do.

Arena could have used Daniel Penny on that trend. Yes, he could. We all could use Daniel. All right.

And you know what they wanted to do to Daniel Penny, the white guy who subdued the violent criminal who was black and he died? They wanted to lock Daniel Penny up. Alvin Bragg and the justice system in New York City went after Daniel Penny. And thankfully, he was completely exonerated, and he was proven to be justified. Would there only have been Daniel Penny on that train with Irina Zerutskaya? Now, it may have been too late. I don’t know. And incidentally, as I said yesterday, you know what was caught on tape? The monster saying after he did it, I got that white girl. I got that white girl. Now, what do you think would be happening in America right now, in Charlotte, if a white guy had brutally slaughtered a beautiful young black woman and then marched around saying, I got that black girl.
