SPEAKER 14 :
Senator Bernie Marino in Ohio released a picture yesterday of the young woman who was brutally beaten. by a pack of, well, just criminals who reared back, knocked her out cold, and her injury, if you’re looking at it right now on Salem News Channel, it’s difficult to see. It’s painful to observe. They beat her to within an inch of her life. And, look, race is inevitably a part of this. because it was a group of black individuals who beat a pair of white people, a white man and a white woman. It appears the counter-narrative that somehow the white guy provoked it is falling apart. I saw a detective yesterday in court explain that two of the suspects conspired to ambush the two white people at the Cincinnati Jazz Festival. Have you heard what the Ohio City Councilwoman said about the beating of these two white people? City Councilwoman Victoria Parks replied online to video that was posted of the July 27th beating on Facebook. And she wrote, and I quote, they asked for that beatdown. I’m grateful for the whole story, she added, because the counter-narrative is the whole story is that somehow the white people did something to deserve the beating. The normal outrage… As expected has occurred, the Cincinnati Fraternal Order of Police president told Fox News, it’s unconscionable that an elected official would be celebrating violence in the very city she was voted to serve. State Representative Phil Plummer demanded she step down immediately. Of course she should resign. Of course any elected official should. should throw in the towel and say, public service is no longer in the cards for me because I’m a filthy, despicable, disgusting, violence-loving racist. That’s who this black city councilwoman is, the 67-year-old Democrat. But I believe it speaks to a bigger issue. The Democrat Party is continually… embracing its support of bloodshed and violence and even death. This is coming from one political point of view. There is no other way to describe this. There is no other way to define it. The Democrats are embracing death, violence, The Democrats believe that in their frustration over things not going the way they want them to go, and nothing’s going their way. The tide is turning. Trump has unleashed something in America. Now, to his critics, he’s released something bad. And I get that. I understand that. I don’t agree with it. But if you’re a Trump critic, I get it. I absolutely get it. To many of us, he has unleashed something wonderful. We’re not going to continue to have DEI crammed down our throats. Everywhere you turn, there are women in positions of authority who do not belong there, but they’re there because they’re women. There are people of color in positions of authority who do not belong there, but they’re there because they are people of color. It’s diversion, equity, and inclusion, and people have had it. People are fed up. People are disgusted. Here’s a random lady, young black woman, on TikTok reacting to this ridiculous controversy that attractive young white people can’t be jeans models. Listen to what this young woman said.
SPEAKER 10 :
I can’t even be white anymore. Y’all are mad at Sidney Sweeney because she’s white, she’s blonde, she’s blue-eyed, and she looks good. I am DEI’d out.
SPEAKER 14 :
Good for you. Good for you. She happens to be a young black woman, and she’s DEI’d out. America is DEI’d out. We have had it. The police chief in Cincinnati, an imbecile. She was angrier at the videos being released of the two white people being beaten than she was the actual crime. A normal police chief… would be furious and righteously indignant that a mob of people would beat two other people. No, no, no, no. She didn’t like the social media. We played that clip yesterday. That’s the white female police chief of Cincinnati, Ohio. People have had it. People have absolutely had it. And they’re fed up to hear And the race baiters, the race hustlers, the DEI lovers, they’re drying up. They’re going away. They’re fading into oblivion. I’ve got a friend who maintains if you look at TV commercials in 2023, 2024, 2020, 2021, you’d think 90% of America is black. And hard to disagree with him. We have tried – we have tolerated for too long this effort to ramrod diversion, equity, and inclusion down our throats. Diversion, equity, and inclusion. Diversity, equity, and inclusion. Sorry, I keep saying diversion. Well, it is a diversion. Maybe a Freudian slip, Gallagher. That’s problem one. But the bigger problem is witnessing the Democrats – becoming the party of violence and bloodshed and death. Whether it’s cheering for Luigi Mangione, whether it’s celebrating the death of a cop, whether it’s being delighted that a private equity firm CEO was murdered this week, or whether it is saying that two white people were begging for a beatdown. Deserved it. They begged for that beatdown. By the way, the New York Post has it wrong. I was quoting from the New York Post. The actual quote wasn’t, they asked for that beatdown. I don’t know why the New York Post watered down her quote. Her quote was, they begged for that beatdown. That’s somebody on the Cincinnati City Council. They begged for the beatdown. 67-year-old Democrat. You want to know what she’s proud of? Look at her bio. You want to know what her official city biography says? She brags that she led the charge in passing racism as a public health crisis when she worked in Hamilton County. She also says she introduced and passed racism Juneteenth as a paid holiday for Hamilton County employees. Wow. Aren’t you glad that that’s your tax dollars at work? Because I’ll bet the residents of Hamilton County were just dying to have somebody come along and pass racism as a public health crisis. The irony is that City Councilwoman Victoria Parks said, is the biggest racist of all. 800-655-MIKE. Welcome in. It’s Thursday, the final day of July, 2025. Great to have you with us. The Mike Gallagher Show on Salem News Channel and the Salem Radio Network.
SPEAKER 03 :
Sidney Sweeney is not where I go to for some kind of political symbolism. You know, I’m not a loser trying to create a HuffPo article about dog whistles I find in the Cheesecake Factory menu. She just happens to be extremely beautiful, and she’s what people want, not what people are told they want.
SPEAKER 06 :
In the relieffactor.com studios, here’s Mike.
SPEAKER 14 :
You know, yesterday when we were talking about the Sidney Sweeney drama, a lot of you said, why are you talking about this, Gallagher? Oh, come on, nobody cares about Sidney Sweeney. No, I mean, people are talking about it. And it does have to do with the Trump factor and race and DEI, diversity, equity, and inclusion. There is absolutely a changing time that we’re experiencing. Do you feel it? Did you see the economic news yesterday? All the smart kids just back in April were saying, oh, Trump’s tariffs are going to lead to a recession and runaway inflation. It’s kind of staggering. The GDP was predicted to be 2.5. It’s at 3. 3 points. Inflation is good. Numbers are good. The economy continues to roar. Let me repeat, the economy continues to roar. That doesn’t mean things aren’t still too expensive. I know they are. That doesn’t mean people aren’t still struggling. I know some are. Many are. I’m not saying that. But in terms of pure economic results, which is what Donald Trump promised… The economy is roaring. Trump said it yesterday. All expectations were smashed with the announcement of the second quarter gross domestic product.
SPEAKER 08 :
The unbelievable kind of numbers that we’ve been putting up. And as I said, the number of 3%, the pace… In the second quarter, we smashed all expectations. They thought it would be maybe a little bit less than two. And it was three, a little bit more than three. Consumer spending is up. Business investment is way up. Domestic manufacturing is way up. Real disposable family income is up. And personal savings are up. Other than that, we’re not doing so great.
SPEAKER 14 :
We have the hottest country. I love that lie. He says, other than that, we’re not doing too great. Sarcastically. And so when you pushed back at me for talking, and maybe you’ll get mad at me today, too, you get annoyed at talking about some of these culture wars. I get it, because your position probably is, Mike, we care about the economy. We care about interest rates. We care about the housing market. We care about the border. We care about crime. We don’t care about a Sidney Sweeney American Eagle jeans commercial. I understand all of that. However, the Trump factor prevails. And by that I mean America’s mindset is slowly but surely drifting away from being held hostage by the race baiters. and the race hustlers. America’s mindset is saying it’s okay to have beautiful people as models. I mean, the other day it’s been American Eagle. They’ve been in the hot seat. Now Dunkin’ Donuts is in trouble. They have a guy by the pool promoting some new drink from Dunkin’ Donuts. And they’re flipping out about the guy because the guy says my suntan is genetics. Now, I don’t know how anybody’s suntan is genetics. I don’t think you get – well, maybe. I guess come to think of it, you know, your genes can lead to being, you know, prone to sunburn. Or Trevor, one of our sons, always got real dark, dark tan. And I guess that, I don’t know, it’s just the genetic makeup in your body. I guess that’s what the kid in the Dunkin’ Donuts commercial is saying. But they’re mad at that. Like, now he’s now, Dunkin’ Donuts has got the male version of the Sidney Sweeney ad. And, you know, he’s a good-looking guy. Side of the pool, tan. He’s some model actor out of Dallas. He’s been in some TV series, and he’s real popular. Here’s the ad. This is the Dunkin’ Donuts version of the fascism, Nazism, stormtroopers commercials that the left believes America is now producing.
SPEAKER 15 :
Look, I didn’t ask to be the king of summer. It just kind of happened. Miss Tan, genetics. I just got my color analysis back. Guess what? Golden summer, literally. I can’t help it. Every time I drink a Dunkin’ Golden Hour Refresher, it’s like the sun just finds me. So if sipping these refreshers makes me the king of summer, guilty as charged.
SPEAKER 14 :
And then he takes a nice big sip of whatever that drink is that Dunkin’ Donuts is promoting. Now, frankly, I don’t think that’s fascism. It sounds to me like a little bit of malignant narcissism. I mean, he’s an ego man. I mean, you’re the king of summer? Really? You’re so good looking because your tan is genetic? And, you know, I can’t help it that the sun just finds me I think you’re a megalomaniac, young man. I think somebody needs to give you a reality check. Now he’s reading a script, I get it, but come on. I’m the king of summer. Look at me. Ah, I’m lounging by the pool. That’s just arrogance. But it’s not fascism. Megyn Kelly had a great take on all of this. Megyn Kelly on her podcast said, said that a lot of leftists are angry at Sidney Sweeney because, you know, she is white and she’s pretty. And to Megyn’s point, she says it’s kind of okay for beautiful people to be models again. Let me share with you a little bit of Megyn Kelly’s rant from The Megyn Kelly Show.
SPEAKER 01 :
I think that this ad is resonating for a number of reasons. Yes, of course, she’s gorgeous. And just like all models, people will happily pay to look at that. Like there are American Eagle accurately deduced they would pay her because people would want to look at her. And that they would be drawn to their product if they saw this beautiful woman wearing it. They were absolutely right. But I think there’s a couple things happening here. Yes, of course, it does say hotness is back. And that’s an important moment in 2025. We were sick of ugliness being in. We’ve been suffering. with the elevation of objectively homely people in our modeling ads and our fitness ads for years now, and we’re over it. We miss attractive people. That’s it. Like, we’re sick of trying to pretend that these objectively unattractive people are the new beauty standard. They’re not. No one ever took to it. They tried to cancel Jordan Peterson for saying things like that. He was right. Like, there is an objective… standard of beauty, at least insofar as American cultural values go, it has nothing to do with white skin. Whitney Houston was probably one of the most beautiful Americans ever to walk the earth. It’s just, you know it when you see it. It tends to involve symmetrical features. It tends to involve thinness or fitness. It tends to involve, in many cases, they say wide set eyes, larger lips, thin nose. There’s all sorts of things that people are naturally attracted to. You can have it if you’re black, you can have it if you’re white, brown, whatever. But here’s what I wanted to say. This is the piece that no one’s saying, and I think we should say it because it’s real and there’s nothing wrong with it. We’re sick and tired of the nonsense where you are not allowed to ever celebrate someone who is white and blonde and blue eyed. That we have to walk into a room apologetic for those things, or we have for the past five years. And in a way, this ad is the final declaration that we’re done doing that. It doesn’t mean we’re better, but you know what? We’re no worse than any other race or any other hair color or eye color, and we’re sick of being told that we are by having all of our representation, to use the left’s terms, removed from television shows and movies and historical plot lines that involve people who do look like us, but suddenly we’ve been deemed too offensive to to remain white like Anne Boleyn, who needed to be changed into a black woman in order to appeal to people’s cultural sensitivities or, you know, stupid stuff like, oh, they had to change Hermione Granger in the play version of Harry Potter into a black girl because something’s offensive, I guess, about the redheaded white girl. It’s we’re done with that bullshit.
SPEAKER 14 :
Oop, glad we clipped that at the end. But, you know, she does make, I think, some terrific points. You know who’s going to play Jesus Christ in the production of Jesus Christ Superstar at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl? Now, you think I’m having a mental breakdown when I tell you this? You think I’ve completely lost my mind? Cynthia Erivo. The young woman who played Elphaba? In the Wicked movie, she’s going to be Jesus Christ. A black female will be our Lord and Savior. Now, you know, I guess a lot of people will say, well, good. Why not? Why not depict? These are just actors and actresses. Okay. Megan says that people are tired and sick to death of this BS. The only thing I kind of struggle with in listening to Megan, and I typically agree with a lot of what she says, she describes objectively unattractive people. Now, I’m not trying to sound like some syrupy lefty, But doesn’t everybody possess physical characteristics that somebody will like? In other words, isn’t that, you know, the old adage about beauty is in the eye of the beholder? There are maybe people who like, you know, overweight people or skinny people or, I don’t know, scrawny people or people who are obese. I mean, I guess… I don’t know. And I’m saying this as somebody who is very mindful of how physically unattractive I am. I’m no model. I get it. I’m no Brad Pitt. But at the end of the day, unattractiveness is not objective. It’s not objective at all. There is a lot of subjectivity to what people think other people look like. I think. Maybe I’m crazy here. 800-655-MIKE if you want to weigh in. 800-655-6453. We’re partnering with our friends at the nonprofit relief agency, Food for the Poor, and rushing emergency relief kits to these flood-ravaged parts of the world. 128 people confirmed dead. Many, many more are still missing. As you know, President Trump and the first lady visited the flood zone in Texas over the weekend. As you can hear, he was pretty emotional. You can hear in the sound of his voice about what he witnessed. They lost their child or two children.
SPEAKER 08 :
And just hard to believe what I’ve never seen anything like it. A little narrow river that becomes a monster.
SPEAKER 14 :
Now, as the president observed, we’re all grieving. We’re grieving. There’s been such a terrible loss of life. Entire communities are still being impacted. There are flooded out homes. There are closed businesses. And there are many still displaced, and they desperately need your help. Now, there is a Help Texas banner on my website, MikeOnline.com, where you can make a secure online donation. Please help us rush emergency relief kits to Texas. These kits contain tarps, hygiene items, diapers, children’s activity materials, and other essentials needed to ease the crisis for these poor people. Food for the Poor, in coordination with a trusted partner in San Antonio, has responded to the central Texas flooding. Nobody responds like the Mike Gallagher audience. Right now, already $13,000 in the first day or two. of donations have come in. We have a sort of an unofficial goal of 40,000. In my heart of hearts, we’ll soar past that goal. The Mike Gallagher Show on Salem News Channel and the Salem Radio Network.
SPEAKER 13 :
So now the price of a deal with the United States of America is black and white. Completely open markets. He wants to make sure that Americans can sell their goods overseas. He’s tired of all those years where it was unfair and asymmetric against us. He wants to right the wrong of the last 80 years of trade policy, and he wants to do it now, and that’s what he’s doing.
SPEAKER 06 :
In the relieffactor.com studios, here’s Mike.
SPEAKER 14 :
The golden era is upon us. And the news just keeps getting better and better for us. The left keeps getting more desperate and desperate. And there’s a lot of great columns being written about tariffs. Because they’re not, look, tariffs as a subject matter. Not sexy, you know, nothing titillating about tariffs. But Trump has a plan. And as the one caller put it, pretty brilliant. Great piece at FoxNews.com by my colleague and friend Hugh Hewitt. The column is his trademark morning glory. He’s always like saying good morning to Canada or something. He’s got a greeting that he always says to Canada. And then he says, morning glory, evening gray. So the column at FoxNews.com is Morning Glory by Hugh Hewitt. Now, Hugh always makes fun of me. And we’re friends. We’ve known each other for over 20 years. And we’ve worked together for that long a period of time. And he’s one of those kind of Ohio trash talkers. You know, I’ve known people like that. I’ve worked with people like this in my whole life. Mitch Dolan was a guy like that in New York City. There’s trash talkers. You know, they just like poke fun. And it’s playful. It’s never really mean or serious. It’s just fun. But they always tease. I’ll get on stage with Hugh somewhere and Hugh will say, boy, I’m just so disappointed to learn that Mike has become a never-Trumper. Mike has denounced Donald Trump and despises every aspect of the Trump presidency. And then everybody has to laugh, and then I have to say, he’s kidding. That’s Hugh, right? So I don’t really like teasing him back, because that’s not really my thing. I mean, look, I admit I’m kind of a big softy. I don’t like to hurt people’s feelings. Despite what I do for a living, I don’t want to appear to be mean or anything. But once in a while, I cannot resist. I just read Hugh’s column at FoxNews.com. He has the longest bio I have ever seen in my entire life. The bio for Hugh is as long as his column, and the column is long. I’ve never seen a bio like this before. I’ve never, this is the craziest. Now, Hugh, I think, would probably say, well, you know, Fox wants to, you know, sing my praises. Fox wants to make sure everybody, this is the nuttiest thing. Again, I don’t like teasing him, but next time you talk to Hugh Hewitt, you ask him about his bio at foxnews.com. This is remarkable. Tracy, where do we go to get a publicist like this? It can’t be that miserable Dwayne guy. Because that guy’s so unhappy and miserable in life. I don’t think… Hugh’s bio is like the Dead Sea Scrolls. It’s like the Magna Carte. This is wild. Eric, should I read it? I mean, this bio, I know a lot of, okay, not everybody hears Hugh, but you see him on Fox News because he’s got his, you know, he’s always wanted to be a Fox News contributor. And God bless him. I’m glad he’s there. And, you know, he’s a big brain. He’s a smart guy. He’s a friend. I love his work. I appreciate him. I’m glad he really did change his mind about Trump because unlike the jokes that he tells about me, who has always been on board for Donald Trump, he didn’t used to be a Trump fan. But Hugh is part of that breed that came around. And I love that about him. He was willing to see the light finally. After stubbornly opposing Trump and trying to come up with ways to even block him from getting the nomination and everything else, he’s on board as enthusiastically as the rest of us. And that speaks well of him. But this bio, this is… Let me read this bio to you. And then I promise we’ll move on, but I’ve got to get this off my chest. This is hysterical. Hugh Hewitt is a Fox News contributor and host of The Hugh Hewitt Show. Heard weekdays from 3 to 6 p.m. on many stations around the country on the Salem Radio Network and simulcast on Salem News Channel. Hugh drives America home on the East Coast and to… lunch on the West Coast on over 400 affiliates nationwide, and on all the streaming platforms where SNC can be seen. He is a frequent guest on the Fox News Channel’s News Roundtable, hosted by Bret Baier, weekdays at 6 p.m. A son of Ohio and a graduate of Harvard College and the University of Michigan Law School, Hewitt has been a professor of law at Chapman University’s Fowler School of Law since 1996, where he teaches constitutional law. He launched his radio show from Los Angeles in 1990. Hewitt has frequently appeared on every major national news television network, hosted television shows for PBS and MSNBC, written for every major American paper, has authored a dozen books, and moderated a score of Republican candidate debates. Most recently, the November 2023 Republican presidential debate in Miami and four Republican presidential debates in in the 2015 and 2016 cycle. Oh, we’re not done yet. This thing is just getting started. Hewitt focuses his show and his column on the Constitution, national security, American politics, and the Cleveland Browns and Guardians. Hewitt has interviewed tens of thousands of guests from Democrats Hillary Clinton and John Kerry to Republican Presidents George W. Bush and Donald Trump over his 40 years in broadcast. And this column previews the lead story that will drive his radio TV show today. That’s his bio. That’s as long as the column. Do they do that every time he puts a column in FoxNews.com? My eyes are bleeding. This morning for breakfast, Hugh and the fetching Mrs. Hewitt had scrambled eggs with slightly crispy bacon. Last week, Hugh, I mean… Oh, brother. All right, I got to move on, but that’s something. That is something. I’m going to start, what do we got to start calling him? Hugh, Mr. Bio Hewitt. Big brain, bigger bio. And again, I’m not the kind of guy that normally pokes fun, but I could not resist. Let’s go back to the news yesterday. The GDP exceeding. the economists’ expectations, Trump beating Wall Street with the GDP. Here’s Kevin Hassett. Listen on C-SPAN what Kevin Hassett said about this being one of the best announcements, best achievements for the country and the Republican Party you can imagine.
SPEAKER 17 :
It’s really one of the best GDP announcements or releases that you could imagine because there’s blockbuster growth way above expectation. And there’s also a real, real almost collapse in inflation. It went down by about a percent and a half all the way down to 2.1 percent, which is the Fed’s target. As it have high growth with low inflation and also high income growth, personal income growth was 3 percent. That’s just like about a sweet spot for a GDP release.
SPEAKER 14 :
There’s a Trump administration official saying it doesn’t get much better than this. But here’s what’s great. This doesn’t get any better than this. CNN, Abby Phillips, who continuously interrupts Scott Jennings anytime. They all do. They all start yelling at Scott, our Salem radio colleague, every time he tries to make a point on that roundtable. But he keeps going back for more. God bless him. This is March of this year. I want you to go back to March with Abby Phillips and Scott Jennings, our friend and colleague, arguing about Trump’s tariffs and whether or not the tariffs would be good for our nation’s economy.
SPEAKER 11 :
Palpable panic on Wall Street, red numbers and worries about something else that starts with an R, a recession.
SPEAKER 07 :
What we’re doing is very big. We’re bringing wealth back to America. That’s a big thing. And there are always periods of it takes a little time.
SPEAKER 11 :
It takes a little time. He’s talking about that period of transition is what he’s talking about is his firm belief that tariffs are going to be the main way that the United States brings in revenue. Never mind what they do to the prices that people actually pay when they purchase goods in a global economy. I mean, Scott, virtually no one who understands economics believes that tariffs are a good idea. Including all those people that we played in the clip to get into this conversation, most of whom side with Trump. They believe in Trump. They’re supporters of his.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah, he firmly believes in it. It’s his theory. And guess what? He ran on it and he got elected on it. And for his theory to take root, it will take some period of time.
SPEAKER 11 :
And he will rise and fall on this theory. Are you comfortable? with Trump throwing the dice on the United States’ economy based on his hunch that we should go back to, you know, the McKinley-era tariffs?
SPEAKER 04 :
Am I comfortable that the person who was duly elected president of the United States be allowed to govern in the way that he said he would in order to win the election? Of course I am.
SPEAKER 14 :
I mean, you hear, the guy can’t say six words without her interrupting everything he says. And that was in March, okay? Scott is patiently trying to tell Blabbermouth, you’ve got to wait a few months, or you’ve got to give it time. Well, who knew that we were talking about a matter of months? Because guess what? Now we’ve had massive victories for America in the trade department. Right now, the Treasury Department announcing an unexpected budget surplus. This is fueled by a sharp rise in tariff revenues and a higher than anticipated tax incoming, marking the notable vindication for Trump’s economic strategy. Trump’s strategy is working. Now, I thought it would be kind of fun to poke into last night, to pop in and see what these CNN… crazies are saying about all of this good news about the economic boom that Trump’s tariffs are causing. You know, look, a whole bunch of Republicans don’t like tariffs either, but they are forced now to swallow the medicine of a better than expected GDP, of a booming stock market, a soaring economy. So let’s check in with last night and see how they were doing.
SPEAKER 04 :
I’d like to build a DeLorean and go back to April when everybody here was predicting likely to cause a recession. Investment stops and a recession happens. They’re not talking about a U.S. recession. They’re talking about a global recession.
SPEAKER 01 :
What’s happening in April?
SPEAKER 04 :
Lead to recession. Eventually, there’ll be a recession. So, very cleverly, if he’s chosen to pick my wife, just a second, sir. You called the recession. No. You took your shoe off. Oh, do you want to see that again? You took your shoe off. You brought cookies out here. You took your shoe off and you said there was going to be a recession. GDP is 3%.
SPEAKER 05 :
It’s too early to give a final verdict. It’s too early. Just a second, Abbie. He’s basically calling me out there. early to give a final verdict on the tariffs. You may wish to, but at the moment, it can’t be said what the long-term effect is going to be.
SPEAKER 04 :
Richard, I am just a journalist, and all I can do is read the economic data.
SPEAKER 11 :
It’s a bit of a stretch.
SPEAKER 04 :
3% GDP, trade deals, record high in the stock market. These trade deals are garbage.
SPEAKER 05 :
It’s actually much simpler. Garbage? Yes!
SPEAKER 14 :
You know, every clip I see of that panel, you know the one that’s the worst culprit in shutting Scott down? It’s that host. It’s Abby Phillips. She never shuts up. He can’t say five words. It’s so maddening to try to watch him make a point, and their argument is, Scott, Scott, well, we weren’t sure back in March. Well, the tariff story was different back in March. This is all part of Trump’s strategy. It’s called negotiation, dumbbell. It’s called negotiating with countries and getting the best deal for the American people. Dope. Wow. 800-655-MIKE, 800-655-6453. He’s the happy conservative warrior, Mike Gallagher, broadcasting across hundreds of radio stations nationwide and seen on your trusted conservative TV network, Salem News Channel. Here’s Mike.
SPEAKER 14 :
Welcome into a very busy day. The funeral has begun for that slain New York City police officer who was murdered by that madman in Midtown Manhattan. I wonder how the family of the murdered officer feels about Zoran Mamdani attending the funeral. knowing that he loathes the police the way he does. The guy who once posted when somebody said, I saw a New York City police officer crying in his cruiser, in his patrol car, and Mamdami wrote back, nature is healing. This is a guy who hates police and now is pretending to be pro-police. If New Yorkers are stupid enough to be fooled and they elect him, they’ll deserve him. Meanwhile, some bombshell information released from some declassified materials, Hillary Clinton, oh boy, not good. And Cincinnati, Ohio, this story has blown up big time. Video showing a mob of black individuals beating two white people. And there’s a lot of fury. There’s a lot of anger. There’s a lot of resentment over the way this has been handled, not only in the media, but by law enforcement and by the city of Cincinnati. U.S. Senator Bernie Marino was on Fox News Channel yesterday saying, And he said he’s going to try to suspend or freeze federal funding that Cincinnati would receive if they do not immediately restore law and order. Here’s what he said.
SPEAKER 12 :
Holly, which is one of the victims, I actually, when I saw the video, thought she had been killed. I posted pictures with her permission yesterday of what happened to her. This is a middle-aged woman that was going out for a nice time with some friends. This is how she ended up. I mean, these pictures are so graphic, so horrible. that I wanted people to see this is what political leaders in Cincinnati are allowing. Cincinnati is an amazing city made by great people over decades, centuries, actually. It’s one of the shining jewels of Ohio. And these idiotic political leaders that the citizens allow to have office need to go. I’m going to call on all federal agencies to review the funding that we provide Cincinnati. And I’m giving the leaders of Cincinnati Cincinnati one month to come up with a plan for them to protect civil rights for their citizens. And if they don’t do it, Lawrence, I’m going to ask these agencies to suspend all federal funding because we’re not going to put up with this. They’re down 200 police officers. The police chief blames social media. The city council person blamed the victim. The mayor went to a misfit mayor’s conference and then took a vacation to Canada. Hasn’t been back in town since then. This is a total travesty. I’m not going to put up with it. Ohio deserves better, and Cincinnati certainly does too.
SPEAKER 14 :
Ohio’s lucky to have Bernie Marino as a U.S. senator. The city councilwoman he’s referring to is a woman named Victoria Parks. She’s the president pro tem of the city council. You know what she wrote on Facebook? about the two white people beaten to a bloody pulp, particularly the woman who looks like she’s been run over by a Mack truck. You know what the black city councilwoman said? Quote, they begged for that beat down. I am grateful for the whole story. I’m grateful for the work of Jack Windsor. He’s founder and editor-in-chief of the Ohio Press Network, former managing editor of The Ohio Star and The Michigan Star. He’s host of The Windsor Report, which is a daily drive-time show heard in our home in Columbus, Ohio. Jack, it’s good to see you. It’s been a while. Welcome back to The Mike Gallagher Show.
SPEAKER 16 :
Mike, it’s always an honor to talk with you and to be here. Thank you for having me. I wish it were under better circumstances. This is a truly grotesque display of violence that we’re dealing with here in Cincinnati.
SPEAKER 14 :
And not only that, Jack, but you do a great job of covering stories like this, but also put it into a broader political context because this has a political context. We’ve got Democrat leadership of Cincinnati, Ohio, particularly this city councilwoman. And again, she’s the president pro tem of the city council, seemingly celebrating the beating. They begged for it. She thinks they deserved it, blaming the victims. You’ve got this wacky police chief who was mad at social media because we got to see the video of what actually happened. Jack, this seems to me to speak to a bigger problem, which is today’s Democrat Party is becoming more and more comfortable with glorifying and celebrating bloodthirsty, violent behavior up to and including death. I’m thinking about Luigi Mangione. I’m thinking about the shooting death of the Blackstone executive this week in Manhattan. Do you see those same parallels?
SPEAKER 16 :
I have talked about it on the Windsor Report a few times now. It is the one thing that keeps me awake at night. I think our country and our communities are headed in a different direction today than they were four years ago. However, in addition to, for example, you mentioned the president pro tem Victoria Parks, sustainability coordinator, city of Cincinnati. Her name is Iris Rowley. Guess what? She was on social media, too. And she said he deserved it, even if, you know, the guy that—we’ll talk about that in a minute. But both of these officials say that the man and the woman deserved the beatdown that they got. And at the root of this, you know this, Mike, is this idea that if you are a victim and you are the oppressed, you can take— whatever you want to do and use it against the oppressor. Any means necessary, right, to create this social justice. And that’s where we are in the city of Cincinnati. You literally have the sustainability coordinator, the council president pro tem saying that those two individuals, look at that woman’s face. She deserved to be sucker punched by a woman and then and then knocked out by a man. If you really believe that, I’m sorry, you’re as far from me as the East is from the West. It is disturbing what we believe about other human beings in our world today, particularly if you’re a member of the Democrat Party.
SPEAKER 14 :
And if you’re watching right now on Salem News Channel, Jack referred to the video images and the photographs that Senator Bernie Marino’s office released, with her permission, showing the horrific injuries she sustained in this beating. We’re talking to Jack Windsor, founder and editor-in-chief of the Ohio Press Network. host of the Windsor Report. Jack, I have to ask you, what does your reporting say that happened at the Cincinnati Jazz Festival? I mean, I want to circle back to what you’re saying, that this whole bit about deserving it, they deserve it. What in the world could they have possibly done as the narrative portrays that they deserve that? But what have you found out actually took place that night?
SPEAKER 16 :
Yeah, so it was downtown Cincinnati after the music festival, Reds game, and there was another, I believe, basketball tournament. It’s important to remember that. There were 150,000 people in that area. That right there should tell you everything that you need to know about law enforcement and the city’s preparedness. When you listen to the police chief say, well, there was gridlock traffic and we couldn’t get down there, my first question is, why weren’t you down there already? These are events that didn’t occur spur of the moment. You’re telling me that as a planner for law enforcement, you didn’t have people ready to go? And allegedly there was one 911 dispatcher, and according to folks that we’ve talked with, that dispatcher was dismissive and rude about the incident. one side saying, look, this is black on white. You have the mayor, you have the police chief saying, no, this was fueled by alcohol. But let’s get to the bottom line brass tacks here, Mike, because there are several videos that have been circulating online. One of them shows that the white male may have slapped upside the head a black male. Here’s the problem with that. We don’t know what precipitated that. We don’t know if he was gaslit by vulgar words or if it was shoved or whatever. It doesn’t matter. If he picked a fight with one other individual, he squared up to fight that man. And then he was attacked by a group of men. That’s not fair. And so that aside, explain to me why the woman in the blue flower dress who gets sucker punched by a black woman and knocked out by a black man. I don’t care what video angle you have on that. That is violence. That is disturbing. That is criminal. And I probably am going to get in trouble for saying that. But the bottom line is you had 150,000 people in that area. You did not have law enforcement there to control the crowd. And then once they got there, according to reports, or at least according to the police chief, the fight was over and they took some reports. But had Corey Bowman, who is Vice President J.D. Vance’s half-brother, and mayoral candidate for city of Cincinnati. Had he not been very vocal about this on social media, I don’t know that we would have gotten to where we are. And in a sense, it’s important that we have this discussion because you’re seeing the ugliness of this, right? It’s been turned into Democrat versus Republican, white versus black, whether it was or wasn’t at the beginning. And we’re missing a couple of key elements here. The city was not prepared. And there are officials who are justifying grotesque violence.
SPEAKER 14 :
Jack, it’s very telling that J.D. Vance’s half-brother, who, as you said, is a mayoral candidate… And I pray Cincinnati gets it right because he’s a good guy. You’re right. Had he not been high profile on this, the country wouldn’t have known. But that high profile occurrence infuriated the Cincinnati police chief, a female, who stood up there. I saw a press conference the other night. She’s railing against… the social media people as if they’re to blame, as if the distribution of the videos was at fault. I couldn’t believe it. I’m going to pull that clip. Christian, if you can find that clip for this police chief, what in the world is she thinking?
SPEAKER 16 :
Mike, you’ve been at this a lot longer than I have. Have you ever heard a law enforcement official say there’s too much video and that the video has been circulated? From where I sit, aren’t they usually saying, hey, if you have any photographs, information, videos, please come forward because we want to get to the bottom of this.
SPEAKER 14 :
It’s the best defense of body cams that police officers wear. You want more video evidence, not less. But she lashed out and was black. I mean, let’s play this. This is the Cincinnati police chief. This woman shouldn’t be a weekend security guard at a Piggly Wiggly. Check out what she said.
SPEAKER 02 :
Social media and journalism and the role it plays in this incident. And yes, guys, that’s you. That is you. Social media, the post that we’ve seen, does not depict the entire incident. That is one version of what occurred. At times, social media and mainstream media and their commentaries are a misrepresentation of the circumstances surrounding any given event. What that does, that causes us some difficulties in thoroughly investigating the activity and enforcing the law. Because what happens, that social media post and your coverage of it distorts the content of what actually happened. And it makes our job more difficult.
SPEAKER 14 :
Now, Jack Windsor, between that kook, Teresa Fiji, who is Cincinnati’s police chief, and this goofy Victoria Parks saying that the victims basically deserved it and they were begging for the beatdown, Jack, Cincinnati, Ohio, is clearly in a lot of trouble with leaders like those two.
SPEAKER 16 :
It’s it’s pure gaslighting. Literally, she’s saying, don’t believe what your eyes just saw in the video and talking down to you as if you’re a kindergartner and she’s the teacher. I mean, clearly there is more information than whatever was captured a minute or two minutes. Any adult with a reasonable, sound mind understands that. But to chastise members of the press or to chastise other humans because they watched a video and they are disturbed that a man was beaten to the ground by a group of people. A woman was clobbered by another black woman and knocked cold by a black man. I don’t care how you slice it and dice it. That’s what happened.
SPEAKER 14 :
