But before we go anywhere, let’s get right to the bottom line here.

exactly i mean we got some things to talk about but this one is bigger than all of them the bills and the broncos last weekend uh really ugly weird call at the end of the game but either way congratulations john your broncos beat my bills i’m heartbroken i’m gonna try to by god’s grace overcome that in our conversation today but well um thank you for being gracious unfortunately with all of that on you guys’s end you lost your coach Yeah, we did. And, you know, I think it was a combination of too many years in a row of winning a lot of games during the regular season, but not advancing in the playoffs. And at some point they pulled the, you know, this is business. We got to do business card and they want to win a Super Bowl. So I don’t know. I think I think honestly, I think they’re going to regret it. We’ll see what happens. But McDermott had built a real culture here in Buffalo. He was a believer, you know, solid, brought in quality players, the whole thing. high, like high integrity kind of guys, you know, and was a big part of the community here. And if it goes south next year, like if we have a horrible season, there’s going to be all hell to pay i think for brandon bean yeah well anyway and so you lost your quarterback on the second last play of the game broke his ankle and uh and you’re going into the afc championship game with a guy who hasn’t thrown a pass in two years that’s amazing not in a professional set well i mean not on a on a you know live games you know the thing people forget is those guys are practicing and playing and they’re in the practice squad and all that so i mean he’s
SPEAKER 03 :
He’s throwing passes and doing things along those lines. I personally, and I’m typically not the greatest of fans. I’m usually more of the pessimistic fan than the optimistic fan. I actually like him. I think he’s actually a very good quarterback. I think he’s a guy that actually could go to a lot of teams and probably start. I think he’s one of the better backups. In fact, I would tell you he’s probably one of the best backups ever. in the league. So personally, I’m, I’m not worried. It’s more of, you know, can we play defense like we need to, can we run the ball like we need to, and it really is going to come down to that morning and Patriots are good. So it’ll be a game.
SPEAKER 02 :
Yeah, they are. And they’re in our division. So I’m going to be pulling for the Broncos. I’m an underdog kind of guy anyway. So go Jarrett Stidman. We’ll see what happens. Yeah. Well, we got a lot of ground to cover today. There’s like major stories happening all over the place here domestically, of course, with the situation in Minneapolis. And then in other parts of the world, you got the Venezuela thing is still kind of looming out there. You’ve got Iran. You’ve got Greenland. I mean, there’s a ton of stuff here to talk about. And I’m, quite frankly, not exactly sure where to begin. But let’s start with Minneapolis, just because that’s here on our home turf. Obviously, you know, the ice shooting of Renee Good, who was a mom that claims to have been Just dropping her kid off at school and then somehow ended up in the middle of this protest, but actually was a part of an ice resistance kind of group. Knew exactly what she was doing, parked her car sideways in the middle of a street and was obstructing law enforcement activity. What were they there to do? Catch illegals who don’t belong in our country and send them home again. That was their job. Right. Unfortunately and horribly, she lost her life. Nobody wants to see that happen. But there’s been rioting in the streets and you’ve got essentially George Floyd to happening right now in in Minneapolis. President Trump has said he might use the Insurrection Act. We’ll talk about that in a minute. But first of all, John, this thing is it’s one of those stories. It doesn’t feel like it’s going to go away anytime soon.
SPEAKER 03 :
No, it, and I don’t think it’s going to, unless the, I mean, one of two things has to happen. Either, either Donald Trump does what you’re just talking about a moment ago, which honestly, that’s, I think that’s last resort. I don’t think you want to do that unless you absolutely have to. It’d be nice if their own, you know, their own state, if you would, or city, even in this case, would step up and do more. It’s just funny, I had somebody call into my show yesterday who mentioned the fact that in all of the videos you see, you don’t see a local policeman anywhere to be found. It’s almost like those guys are absent and missing. And so I think, you know, those are some of the first things that need to be addressed and they need to step up and do their job. And the reality is if they would do some things along those lines and they would participate, I think you’d see some things, you know, some different outcomes, I guess, is what I’m trying to say, Neil. And you wouldn’t have to have, you know, Donald Trump sitting out there in the wing saying, listen, you guys fix this or I will. I mean, I think he’s correct in saying that you cannot, as president of the United States, just continue to let something like this in one of the larger cities in America just continue on. I mean, something has to happen because otherwise and he knows this and so do we. It will spread, and it kind of has in a way, although I’m surprised it hasn’t spread more than what it already has, I think. And maybe that’s something we can talk about, Neil. I don’t know why more cities haven’t participated. For example, during all the George Floyd stuff, we had stuff even here in Denver. It was pretty much in every major city across the country. We haven’t really had much in the way of protests here at all. I mean, there’s been some little things here and there, but nothing really, honestly, Neil, nothing to even talk about on air. It’s been that minor. So… It’s surprising there hasn’t been more. And some of that you wonder, is that because the majority of people from the outside looking in actually are looking at this correctly? They’re looking at video. They’re seeing exactly what the situation was, realizing that, well, you know, was he justified? Given the fact that he had internal bleeding after it was all said and done, yeah, actually he was. It’s been pretty well proven that he was. The Department of Justice has even said so. They’re not going to prosecute. There’s nothing going on there. There’s a lot of folk, and this is a subject, and I kind of got into this a little bit yesterday, and I’m going to get your opinion on this.

Yeah.
SPEAKER 03 :
And I’m trying to be nice here, and I was trying to be nice on air as much as I could yesterday. But unfortunately, because of – and I know I always go back to this, but it really is the crux of where we’re at. Marxism is anti-God. It’s all government. We’re going to fix everything. You need to rely on us. And in turn, infiltrated colleges and worked its way down into high school and then junior high, elementary, now all the way into preschool. There’s Marxism being taught everywhere. at that level. We’ve literally now, Neil, brainwashed about three generations of people in. And I feel like we’ve made people dumber. In other words, we have made people where they cannot sit down And reason. They can’t look at a video, for example, and determine, you know, what really was the outcome. They let their emotions drive them rather than the facts. And the problem is we now have that, you know, generations, plural of I don’t know how to say it. Stupid people. I mean, I don’t know how to say it. Really, we have people that don’t have common sense, that can’t look at things critically, that can’t critically think critically. And in turn, we’ve got literally now half the population of America or maybe even over half the population of America. You take California, for example. They keep reelecting the same dummies that are driving that state. I should say not like its own country. It’s driving that state into oblivion. And yet they keep reelecting the same people. That is the definition of insanity.

It sure is. And there’s some things I want to share about that, and I’ll say about it in a minute. Yeah. Amen. In other words, you know, saying we are pro-life is one thing. Getting out of the stands and out of the field and into the game is another thing entirely. And I think I told this story about five years ago, but I was out with my wife one time having dinner at a restaurant just down the road. And a guy walked up and he said, hey, aren’t you Neil from WDCX? I said, yeah. And he goes, I listen to you all the time, but really love listening to the National Crawford Roundtable. And He said, I don’t know if you’ll ever hear my name or not, but I wanted to introduce myself. I love what you guys do. And I just wrote a check for $15,000 to pre-born to buy a machine. And I was like, let me give you a hug, man. I gave him a hug. It was really great. That’s awesome. Very cool. Let’s get in the game, folks. Christianity and being pro-life and saying that we believe in truth is not a spectator sport. Absolutely. So, John, you were talking about Marxism and, you know, the anti-God mentality that’s been fed to our kids in schools for years. We’re seeing it through the nation’s media. And, of course, it causes a lot of blindness, ultimately, and deception.

Really quick, Neil, it does. And I know we’re going to get into talking about other things that have happened there in regards to. you know, the whole Don Lemon debacle. But my point with even that size of things is the ignorance and even people understanding what free speech, you know, actually is. And we talk about that a lot here on the Roundtable and all three of our shows. But Neil, my point is, is we literally have, and I know everybody wants, you know, all the older generations want to blame the next generation for all the problems. And that’s what I’m saying here. What I’m getting at is because of Marxism really entering the U.S. about 100 years ago, really coming on strong when actually we were kids neil in fact my folks pulled me out of public school put me in a christian school because they saw the things that were happening at that time and that would have been in the you know early 70s late 60s early 70s so if it was becoming prevalent then and it just continued to get worse and worse and worse and And I’ve said this before and I’ll keep saying it, you know, the worst private slash Christian school in the entire country is still better than the best public school out there. And I’ll stand by that until I go to the grave because of the Marxist influence that’s out there. And real quick, Neil, along these lines, I’ve got some good friends that my wife and I met on vacation. We’ve come to really enjoy these folk and love them. And we spend some time with them periodically. And they are retired school teachers from Southern California. great people and very conservative, just like us. And her and I were talking about a year ago or so, and we were having a conversation and we were just talking about politics and different things and what she had done in the schools and so on. And she listens to my show periodically. And the one thing she said, Neil, and I’ll never forget this, is she said, you know, John, everything you talk about on air is correct. In regards to Marxism, being in the schools, all of those things. We were a part of that. She said we were very conservative, and yet the way they presented things in the classrooms, we had no idea we were furthering that agenda on until we retired, left, and could look back on the things that were actually happening. My point, Neil, is this. These are great people. So those of you that are listening where you’re going to send your kids to a public school because you think there’s some great teachers there and you might even know one of the teachers and you think it’s all fine and they’re not teaching your kids the things that we talk about in our programs all the time. Well, here’s a teacher retired that is admitting that because of the way they do things, Neil, yes, indeed, there’s an agenda there and they’re pushing that agenda. And you could be a very conservative Christian teacher and still be pushing the Marxist agenda. You just don’t know you are.
SPEAKER 02 :
I guarantee that’s going on. But let me also say that there are some Christian teachers that are holding the line and barely being able to do so. And thank God for them. But John, you’re right. I mean, there’s an onslaught of this kind of teaching and mentality that we get not only in the schools, but I mentioned also the media earlier. And, you know, also. Some of this is coming from the homes, and I’ll tell you where. I don’t know that most parents think they’re teaching Marxism or an anti-God mentality, but a refusal to put God at the center of your own life, mom and dad, teaches your kids an awful lot about what you really think about submission to the plan and purpose of God.
SPEAKER 03 :
for you and for your family but um let me just mention really quickly i want to add one more thing to that also not letting your kids fail not letting them have any difficulties you know not letting them suffer the consequences for for a failure on a test or Or a bad game, maybe, if they play sports. Or, in fact, and I’ll go one step further, Neil, not making them get a job when they’re 13, 14 years of age. Some of you are thinking, gosh, John, that’s really early. No, folks, it’s not. Those kids can work at that age, and they should be. There’s as much problems, Neil, I think, at home from these parents basically saying, I want you to have a better life than I had. Why? Why? Did you not grow up well? Did you not learn well? You’re raising kids now. I mean, the reality is, yes, we always want more for our kids. But at the end of the day, Neil, I want them to be responsible adults someday. And I want them to go through some hardships.
SPEAKER 02 :
John, I don’t know if you saw it. I don’t want to get too far off the beaten path because I still have a point to make about this whole thing. But a study recently indicated the number one predictor of success in life. is chores, literally. It isn’t what kind of school you go to. It isn’t how much time you spend reading books at night. All of those things matter to some degree. But giving kids responsibility when they’re young teaches them that if they don’t do it, there are consequences. If they do do it, there’s a feeling of gratitude and accomplishment that goes along with it. It helps kids to be creative and to set goals for themselves, et cetera. So like chores, really. I mean, think about that. Well, what I wanted to say about the parent thing is the generation after generation of loosening the rules till there are no rules. The idea that kids can have whatever they want. Everybody gets a trophy. Junior doesn’t have to get up and cut the lawn. He can sleep in till three o’clock in the afternoon if he wants to. Nobody should ever be challenged on anything. Life ought to be how you want it. There’s like a selfishness at the root of it. And I’m saying that this is really detrimental to to the world as we know it, because what it does ultimately is it says that our feelings are more important than absolute truth. Absolute truth happens outside the body. Feelings are something that, you know, we we coddle inside our body and they can change. Your feelings are fickle. They can change. No, no long term plan that’s going to be successful would ever be rooted in the changing fickle feelings of some individual who’s not grounded in the word of God. absolute truth outside the word of god is what matters and ultimately that’s what should be driving every member of the church which is why in the darkness and despair that we’re seeing and the kinds of things that are going on in minneapolis the church has an important role to play in being the hands and feet of jesus and the light of christ in that darkness which leads me to don lemon interestingly talking about darkness um you saw john what happened in minneapolis over the weekend a church there called Cities Church, sort of invaded in a way by anti-ice protesters.
SPEAKER 03 :
They literally did invade. That’s a great word, Neil.
SPEAKER 02 :
Anti-ice protesters committed to the church. Don Lemon pretends he’s kind of just following them in. I think he was part of the whole thing. In the first place, they said he was collaborating with the leader of that thing and giving out donuts to some of the participants in advance of the event. Who knows? But either way, Don, the sort of disgraced Former host of various news programs on CNN, Don Lemon’s in the middle of that whole thing. And these people start chanting all kinds of anti-ICE sentiments and then also attacking these people for their white supremacist Christianity. They were chanting things like, you claim to be a Christian, act like one. Another one, a woman was holding a latte, as we often see in churches these days. You have a latte, you have your nice clothes, but what do you stand up for? What do you do to stand up for your Somali and Latino communities? Another, they all chanted together, say her name, Renee Good. Say her name, Renee Good. That was the woman who was shot in the face. So and here’s one other statement. All these comfortable white people who are living lavish, comfortable lives while children are dragged into concentration camps. You’re living real nice lives with your lattes doing absolutely nothing for your Latino and Somali brothers and sisters. You come to hear a man wearing a suit as a preacher. Did Jesus wear a suit? Did Jesus profit off the word? No. Anyway. We haven’t really ever seen this kind of thing. I mean, we’ve seen shooters go into churches and open fire during worship services. But the idea of protests that had previously been out in the street coming into the worship service, I think it’s kind of a first on that one. And the Department of Justice is… saying they’re gonna look at possible implementation of what’s called the FACE Act, the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act, which does include the language that prohibits intentionally injuring, intimidating, or interfering with anyone seeking to exercise the First Amendment right of religious freedom at a place of religious worship. So who knows where this goes and whether or not the Department of Justice follows through on that issue. But, John, I don’t think we’ve seen the end of this by any means. This is going to become commonplace if it isn’t dealt with properly right now.
SPEAKER 03 :
I agree. And again, where I was going earlier with this is just the whole, honestly, it’s either a denial or ignorance when it comes to, you know, free speech, you know, freedom of speech and freedom of speech. Yes, if you want to, you know, I said this the other day, you know, I would even protect the free speech of a Satanist. that wants to stand on a public corner and spew out whatever it is he wants to spew out. That is the right that we have, First Amendment right that we have in this country to do so, Neil, and I will protect that individually. Even though I fully disagree with everything they’re saying, the reality is I’m still going to protect that. Now, where people get this whole Second or this whole First Amendment thing wrong, Neil, is the fact that they feel like they can do that anywhere. And the reality is, no, folks, you can’t. A church, by the way, it’s private property. It’s a private organization. Yes, it’s open to the public with limitations. I want to make sure I always have that caveat when it comes to churches with limitations. I mean, I’ve been an usher at churches in the past at times where there is maybe a shady individual coming in that you just know probably wasn’t the best person to be there or there were other known individuals maybe ex-husbands of certain single women that you know there was just a even a restraining order where those people were not allowed to be there and so on so churches have limitations on who they can let attend and not attend it’s not as open quote unquote as probably a lot of people think i mean yes we as churches and congregations and pastors, you know, Neil, you want to bring in as many people as you possibly can, but it’s still private property. You have the ability to control what goes on on that property. And no, people can’t just walk in, walk up on stage, grab the mic and spew out whatever they want to. That is not freedom of speech. That’s called trespassing and it’s against the law. And I’m here to tell you, Neil, in the majority of cases with these individuals, they should all be in jail right now.
SPEAKER 02 :
Yeah, you know, going back to that selfish, what was the word I was looking for? Subjective kind of interpretation of what’s right and wrong that I was talking about earlier and the blindness that comes along with it, largely rooted in things like the Marxist teaching people have got in schools, the anti-God mentality of the culture that we live in. What you get is people that think they can interpret the law however they want to or they can fully disregard the law because it’s the right thing to do. And so, you know, you’re quoting that this is against the law. I agree with you 100 percent. And I believe that the law needs to be fully enforced. But these people don’t think that they’re subjected to it, that the law even applies to them. Or if you don’t like it, I mean, it was like the people saying, hey, disobey military orders if they’re in fact illegal. Well, who decides if they’re illegal, right? The individual… know participant in our u.s military okay so these are radical anti-ice activists that are on the streets during this whole thing by the way where the news broke about billions of dollars of fraud going to somali daycare centers that don’t even exist in the same city by the way in the same city and then these militant protesters out on the streets saying ice you got to go home uh get away from us we don’t want you here get out of our city get out of our state that you know the governor and the Mayor are saying these kind of things. All of this just sort of stoking the flames. And then, you know, the threat potentially that the Insurrection Act would be used against these people. I don’t know where the end comes regarding these things or how things begin to settle down again. But it’s amazing to me that all of this is going on at the same time in the same city, John.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah, and to your point, and I don’t have an answer to this, you know, how does this end? When does this end? Unfortunately, I feel like because of everything you and I have been talking about, the continual brainwashing of individuals, you know, until, Neil, how does this end? we’ve got to take back the schools. We’ve got to take back even what goes on in a lot of churches and the preaching that’s there and the teaching that happens in schools and so on. I mean, we have got to start taking back the kids that are being influenced by all of this, literally in a lot of cases being brainwashed by this. And And this goes, you know, and you guys all know me. I’m a trade guy. I believe in the trades fully. I also believe, Neil, that a lot of where we’re at with some of this stuff is because of that, even when I was a kid, the push to not do trades anymore, really remove them out of the school, send everybody to college. Well, to me, that was still part of the master plan of Marxism, because if you don’t have kids in the trades and they’re in school and in college, if you would, getting brainwashed, you can’t control the masses that way. And I think it’s even still to this day why you don’t see a lot of public officials. Donald Trump and others are, but you see a lot of public officials that will still tell kids, go to college, don’t go to the trades. And I think that’s part of the problem we’re incurring right now.

unbelievable the twist you could put on this it’s incredible wow so much going on in the world we spent a lot of time talking about minneapolis i knew that there was some other things i wanted to bring up and maybe we will if we have time but i want to touch on a few other things uh iraq like somehow this is sort of not the major news story anymore at least in some circles but i have iraqi friends that are desperately trying to find out what’s happened to their families. A lot of communication cut off there, rioting in the streets, people that are fed up with the totalitarian Islamic regime that’s been in power. They’re wanting to overthrow the government. I think the U.S. would be all in favor of that. Donald Trump appeared to be on the doorstep of getting involved at some point, literally saying to these people, keep up the protests, help is on its way. Then back down a bit, and we can talk about that, I guess, You know, some reports, I mean, there’s conflicting reports because there’s not a lot of real news coming out of Iraq. I spoke with a guy the other day. Are you talking Iraq or Iran? Iran. I’m sorry. That’s right. Coming out of Iran the other day. And they have a ministry there called Acts 13 Ministry. They actually… pipe television programs into Iran. And there’s something in the neighborhood of five million Christians now, most of them underground in Iran. God’s been doing an incredible work there. They literally, John, they take preachers from the U.S. with their permission and dub in through AI sermons into Farsi, the language that they speak in Iran. And and there are estimated to be as many as five million Christians there, all of whom I would say their lives are in danger. But what the US does to get involved, should the US get involved, I think that there’s a lot of hope on the part of people that have been persecuted and put to death. in iran that you know their families and others are saying we need some help here and if help is on its way where is it but donald trump seems to have backed off i’m not sure what to make of that or what he’s hearing that we’re not aware of i don’t know john what do you think i here’s my thought on what trump is doing number one he’s already told the iranians that if you in fact do try to you know have an attempt on my life we’ll just you know basically obliterate you off the

face of the planet. So don’t go down that path. And by the way, I think he means every word of that. I do think that, believe me, he is watching the powers that be or watching what’s happening in Iran. There’s been reports of up to almost 17,000 individuals killed, about 330,000 injured with this particular regime. So trust me, they’re paying attention. They’re watching. My gut feeling is there’s Not a lot of talk coming out because I don’t think in this case they want to tip their hand as to what they potentially would do. But I think the Iranians, I know they don’t listen to us, but it would behoove them to probably pay a little closer attention to what’s going on because Donald Trump and the United States of America is not going to put up with that type of genocide. I can just tell you that right now. He’s not going to let that go on forever. Why haven’t they stopped it? Yet, you know, again, folks, this is way above my pay grade. I don’t have answers to that. And by the way, neither do any of you that are thinking that we should have done X, Y, Z by now. Reality is you’re not there. You’re not in the situation room. You’re not listening to all the things that are going on. You don’t know what the major plan is going to be when it’s all said and done. I guarantee you, though, Neil, there is one.
SPEAKER 02 :
yeah um you know there was an op-ed in the wash uh the wall street journal and it said that it was titled i think trump let down the iranian protesters he promised he’d help them but stood by while the regime massacred them and that’s a clear feeling that exists in the parts of many individuals he was the one who said help is on its way What did he mean by that? And is it still on its way? Unfortunately, perhaps in some cases too late, but what, what would have prevented him from moving at that point? One thing for sure. We have an aircraft carrier headed to that region. It’s not quite there yet. I heard yesterday. Might be closer for sure by now. But in either way, in either case, you’ve got the thing going on in Venezuela where they just removed Maduro, ruthless dictator there, and thoughts about what happens with the governance of Venezuela. So you’ve got South America in the picture. The Middle East, of course, because of what’s going on in Iran. And then the Greenland question, which we might get to in just a little bit, but saying that the U.S. will have Greenland. What does that mean? Are these all potential military conflicts? You know, are we on the verge of that? And what what caused him to delay? He claims apparently that. uh iran backed off its decision to hang some 800 people but reports since then have said thousands have been massacred since he made the statement help is on its way i i feel strongly it could be wrong but i feel strongly there’s way more to the story like you indicated john than we’re really aware of i think that’s obviously often the case when you’re dealing with international stuff like this. And there’s intelligence on the ground in Iran. There are people that are speaking to Israel about this and to the United States about this. And I’m sure they’re formulating some kind of a plan. We’ll probably find out soon enough. But let me just ask you this, and you might have other things to say about what’s happening there. Are these things going to matter for the future of Donald Trump’s legacy, but also what happens in the midterms? I mean, I got to believe that these are some defining moments and that we need to be praying for our leaders as the word of God says every day, pray for those who are in authority. that he’d make a wise and discerning decision, not just act in, you know, knee-jerk kind of retribution or something, and that, you know, the future of the world in some ways is at stake, and that does not surpass what God is doing through the church, and that Jesus is coming back, and we’ll talk about that perhaps in a few minutes, but I’m just saying that I don’t think that any one of us keyboard warriors, you know, looking at the latest post on Instagram should be formulating final decisions about the best way to deal with Iran. That’s a brutal regime that’s been around for years. They have nuclear capability. They probably have sleeper cells around the world and maybe in the U.S. Who knows? And I just think these are very complicated situations that need to be prayed about and moved on, you know,

Trump has insisted that the U.S. will have Greenland and parenthetically side thing john let’s just say that putin was saying i need australia i’m taking australia and russia was like getting ready to take australia or xi jinping you know china’s going to take australia for strategic and military reasons or whatever else how would we be viewing that so i’m kind of wondering across the world how people are viewing this idea that we’re going to take greenland bottom line you can’t stop us we’re going to do it nato of course is freaking out because we’re supposed to be you know part of NATO and supportive of the members of NATO, and some of them are moving to basically at least visually oppose the U.S. by going to Greenland and like, you know, over our dead bodies, you’re going to come take this away, you know, from the people that have lived here forever. So I don’t know what to say about all that, but he was asked by the press, how far do you intend to go to get Greenland? Like, how far do you intend to go with this? And he said, you’ll find out. Very cryptic answer. I don’t know. This is another one of those things. It’s a powder keg. How desperate it is.
SPEAKER 03 :
And this is one where, you know, and I love Donald Trump and think he does a lot of great things. And he’s one of the better presidents that we’ve had, although I think some folks out there might debate me on that, especially given some of what we’re talking about in regards to some of the world events, Greenland being being one of those. And. while i i understand the importance of greenland to us as a country even part of the golden dome and some of the things that we need to do and the fact of where it’s actually positioned and if you actually look at a globe and not a map and realize how strategic greenland is to our security as a nation especially from china russia yeah it becomes pretty apparent as to why we would want that now all that being said neil if i were president i’m not but if i were president that was part of what i wanted to do strategically I would be handling it completely different than what Donald Trump is. I would be I would use the carrot versus the stick approach. In other words, I would be talking about all of the things that we as a country could bring to them. It’s a it’s a fact. And there’s been some opinion pieces on this that. that they have not been treated very well by Denmark, by their mother country, if you would. The reality is that the people that are there, it’s not that they’re in total poverty, but we could uplift that country in a great way and they would have a much better way of life by joining forces with the United States versus what they have going on right now. So personally, if it were me, I would be approaching that much differently. I would be talking about listen, we’re going to give you guys all a big payout. If you decide to join forces with the United States, this is how this is going to work. This is how we can lift you up. These are the things that we will bring in even after the fact where we can bring in some development and help you guys out. And at the end of the day, make Greenland really not only a strategic island for the United States of America, but there’s lots of things we can bring to the table. And I would be, me as a salesperson, I would be selling them on all of that. And the complaint I have with Donald Trump is he’s a sales guy. The art of the deal and all that, he understands this as well as anyone. And I’m just wondering, Neil, as he’s gotten older and maybe a little more crotchety and the press tends to, you know, they are always needling on him all the time. Is that part of why he’s not doing what I just said? And I don’t have an answer to that.
SPEAKER 02 :
I don’t either. And I’ve thought about it before. You know, you catch more flies with honey, right? That kind of a thing. And why hasn’t he met with NATO? Or maybe he has. Maybe we’re not aware of some secret meeting he held. Maybe they were completely resistant to the whole thing. And he’s like, well, fine, we’re going to do it on our own. But this was also in the Wall Street Journal. I quoted them earlier, but I just want to read this for a second. If Donald Trump’s foolishness over Greenland gets out of hand, recall the U.S. Senate has ratified numerous treaties codifying U.S. duties under the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, NATO, of course, which are now the supreme law of the land. NATO’s Article 1… Makes it illegal for the U.S. to exercise, quote, the threat or use of force in any manner inconsistent with the purposes of the United Nations. I roll my eyeballs a little bit, but that’s what it says. Goes on to say the U.N. charter adopted by the U.S. Senate in 1945, which gives it the force of U.S. law, bans the U.S. from issuing the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity of a non-offending member state. in 2023 for the benefit of any adjudicating judge congress further expressed its will by preventing a president from withdrawing from nato without a two-thirds senate vote this isn’t international law mega types this is wall street journal talking this isn’t international law mega types it’s u.s law A Trump order to occupy an otherwise peaceful and unthreatened Greenland would likely be illegal six ways from Sunday. The U.S. military wouldn’t obey it. The Supreme Court wouldn’t enjoin it. Congress might promptly remove such a president through impeachment. You know how much force or teeth are out of that thing? I don’t know. But the point is. he’s tiptoeing in some dangerous territory i think and collectively you add up venezuela iran um minneapolis you know all that’s happening there uh rioting in other cities around the us and greenland and these are some these are some pretty interesting times john we are not at a loss for things to talk about in the national crawford roundtable I pray that Donald Trump has an idea of what he’s doing. But I got to be honest, like, let’s keep it real. At times, I wonder if he’s just losing it and like becoming a megalomaniac, like, you know, I’m going to control the world.
SPEAKER 03 :
The other thing, too, Neil, that, you know, we don’t know. And this is where, you know, you got to give Trump credit sometimes where we don’t know all of the things going on on the inside. Trump’s one of these guys also has a tendency to, you know, you know, look, watch over here like a magician, you know, watch over here. and pay attention here all the while he’s doing something else over with the other hand. And so you also have to ask the question, you know, is a lot of this just, you know, pushing and prodding and making a big deal out of something that really at the end of the day, he doesn’t even plan on fully, you know, going through all the while he’s doing something else, you know, somewhere else i you know honestly i don’t know um i do have a problem with a lot of these people that talk about trump and you know four-dimensional chess and this that and the other i mean the guy’s smart but i’m sorry folks he’s he’s not that smart and no he’s not always playing four-dimensional chess chess he makes mistakes just like the rest of us make he is not infallible you know he he is a He is, well, let me say it this way, Neil. He is a sinner just like you and I. He makes stupid mistakes at times just like you and I do. Yes, he’s got a lot of advisors around him, but at the end of the day, it’s still his call. And does he always do things the way that I feel he should do them? And the reality is no. And I’m going to get some heat from this. I’m sure somebody will text or email when it’s all said and done because they’re all in and he can never do anything wrong. And I’m not one of those. I will call things out when I don’t think they’re being done correctly. I think in the case of Greenland, do we need Greenland? Yes. In fact, we need Greenland. I will not go against him in that. How we do it, though, I I would be doing it, as I said a moment ago, I would be doing it much differently than what he is right now.
SPEAKER 02 :
But I think you raised a good point because, you know, he wrote The Art of the Deal and he’s got a strategy and there is a Trump way of doing things. And one is that in some cases shock people or offend them and later strike a deal with them. We’ve seen him do that with other world leaders, just like, you know, bash them publicly, offend them, then invite them to the White House, become their friend and strike some kind of a deal with them. So he may be up to more than we know, even in this case. I don’t want to be blind. I think he could be making a huge mistake about how he’s going about it. But I also agree it’s a strategic reality that Greenland would be nice to have under US slash NATO control, you know, for the future of the planet. And I think a lot of this has to do with this is does uh desire defensively for the golden dome kind of uh excuse me protection for the u.s right so we’ll see where that goes but um i don’t think we’ve seen the end of this story by any means i’m sure we’ll be talking no it’s going to continue to develop as as you know neil and again i i i would be doing this differently but i’m not him i don’t have all of the
SPEAKER 03 :
you know, inside baseball notes, if you would, Neil, on everything that’s going on here. So, you know, I’m always careful to say that. Although, and again, I love Trump, but sometimes I would take a different approach. Let me just say it that way. On the same token, I, you know, I’ve never dealt with world leaders like he has. So, you know what? I’ll give him credit on that because I’ve never done it.
SPEAKER 02 :
Yeah. And let me say this before I move on to two other real quick questions. I was going to say something about it before. You know, I think in people might think Donald Trump is all about retribution. And you could say, like, well, look at how he’s going after James Comey or Letitia James in New York. You know how he wants to put Hillary Clinton behind bars, throw her in jail. I mean, that was a conversation back in 2016, et cetera. You could make a strong argument that he’s a guy who’s all about retribution. But let me just say that we have a little of that in ourselves as well. The idea that, you know, we love to see one of our political opponents quote, enemies, to put it in quotes, you know, humiliated in some fashion. Somebody one ups them, somebody drops the mic on them, you know, like just an incredible situation where they’re publicly embarrassed or whatever. We just kind of grin and we love it. And it reminds me, I told this story one time when I was a kid. You know, I was arguing with my neighbor, a little kid named Sammy. He lived next door to me. And I was like six and he was same age, you know, and I don’t know who started. But, you know, my dad could beat up your dad. No way. My dad could beat up your dad. And then at some point we went to the garage like he went to his garage. I went to mine in each of our driveways, came back out front. He had a shovel and I had a shovel. I’m like, well, my dad could hit your dad with his shovel. And then we got to bigger and bigger items till eventually I was holding like a two by four. My dad would hit your dad with his two by four and he’d win. The point is that it was almost childish how we were going about it. And I just want to say this. I don’t want believers to ever lose sight of the fact, and I include myself right at the top of this list, that it’s really just about winning arguments. We’re here for a reason, and that is to make disciples stronger. to be eyewitness testimony people about what Jesus Christ has done to change our hearts and our lives. And while we may want to see all of these policies enacted and certain laws enacted and maybe certain people removed from office in the next election and whatever, we want to see all of these things, all these chess pieces move around the board so that our agenda, our conservative Christian agenda can be advanced. We can’t lose sight of the fact that we’re followers of Jesus and we’re to be the salt and light of the earth. And I’m not trying to over-spiritualize John. I’m just saying, man, it’s really easy to just scroll Instagram all day or, you know, check out your favorite podcast for the latest, you know, insight on what’s going on with regard to the issues you care about and forget to read your Bible or love your neighbor and share Christ with your neighbor. So yeah. I don’t know. I just I wanted to say that because I think these are huge issues that can capture our hearts and our minds and we can get led astray pretty quick.
SPEAKER 03 :
I agree. And again, folks, these are to your point, Neil, these are huge issues that, again, if done correctly, if peace can be brought through the things even that Donald Trump is working on right now as we speak, even Greenland, for example, and in the end, you know, lives are saved. Well, well, by all means, that’s what we want to do. And again, it kind of goes back to the conversation about, you know, what’s he doing about Iran and all the folks that are that are dying there. And I also want and I’m a big one on this. We cannot be the world’s policeman. We cannot go into every single conflict around the world and try to stifle it. I think we can do our best to have influence and do as much as we possibly can, even as a Christian nation. I think we should be doing that, Neil. But can we get involved in every single conflict that’s going on around the world? The answer is no. Now, Iran, I will say this. I think it’s a completely different animal. We’ve already been involved to a certain extent. It is a foe of not only us, but of Israel. That’s a different scenario just because of the terrorism that comes out of Iran on an ongoing basis and the reality of what they could potentially do to us.
SPEAKER 02 :
Absolutely. And we need to keep all of this in prayer. Two quick things. We’ve got less than two minutes for this. Can Trump turn the affordability issue around in time for the midterms? And let me say, with a lot of Democratic ads running right now because the election coming up in November and it’s midterms, but there’s a lot of other elections as well, state and local. And affordability is a part of every one of the democratic messages they’re hammering in the issue of affordability hey things still cost a lot and i’m not sure donald trump has convinced people that the economy is really better john your thoughts real quick
SPEAKER 03 :
Not going to improve until the Fed change happens. That’s not going to be until April, May. So it’s going to be close. I will just say that right now. It’s going to be tight on how quickly the economy can rebound. Mortgage rates have come down. I’ve actually got my folks’ house for sale. They passed away, so we’re selling it. And there’s been a lot more activity, Neil, even in the past couple of weeks on it. So things are starting to improve along those lines. There’s a long way to go. Is there enough time before the midterms to really get people to understand that this is not all Donald Trump’s fault as to where we are right now? The Fed has participated greatly in the stifling of the economy. Again, going back to my conversations earlier, most people don’t understand how these things work. Is there enough time to get it done before the midterms? It’s going to be tight, Neil. It’s going to be really tight.
SPEAKER 02 :
All right, 30 seconds here. We’ve got to move quick. Plunging poll numbers. We’re told by the media, and do we believe them, that Donald Trump’s numbers are lower than they’ve ever been and maybe the lowest of all time.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah, I’m not surprised. I mean, I think if you even go back to the Obama days, he had similar struggles in the midterms. That’s not abnormal for a president to go through some of these things, especially given everything Trump has done of late. Go back to what I said a moment ago. Get the economy cranked up. interest rates down get folks where they can buy a home or even refinance the existing mortgage they have right now and pulling some cash out and helping them get you know caught up on some debt and so on that will do a ton for the economy if that can happen quickly enough yeah john tell us about pre-born great organization again saving babies lives i know you hear bob talk about it a lot you can buy an ultrasound machine fifteen thousand dollars but there’s a lot of you listening where you can’t do fifteen thousand you might be able to do fifteen dollars okay if you can do fifteen bucks fifteen bucks still matters every dollar counts that we can put towards pre-born.
