In this episode, Mike Gallagher delves into the tumultuous landscape of American politics and media influence. From political feuds that shake Washington, D.C. to the conspiracy theories that dominate the digital space, Mike provides a comprehensive reality check. We also examine the personal stories wrapped up in this public drama, including significant attention on the struggles of Erica Kirk following her husband’s untimely death.
SPEAKER 06 :
From the wild world of D.C. politics to America’s culture clash, brace yourself for the reality check you’ve been waiting for. The one and only Mike Gallagher.
SPEAKER 04 :
Gosh, here’s a headline from Axios today on a Thursday. Influencer feuds trigger a total MAGA meltdown. Is there a total MAGA meltdown going on? There’s a political meltdown of sorts happening. Thirteen House Republicans yesterday joined the Democrats to advance a bill that will reverse President Trump’s executive order, cracking down on federal worker unions. When’s the last time you heard about 13 Democrats joining with the Republicans to thwart a Democrat initiative? Gosh, we are just surrounded by a whole lot of bad faith actors. Charlie Kirk’s alleged killer is in court today, a guy by the name of Tyler Robinson. Erica Kirk is appearing in different media outlets, mostly Fox News, supporting, of course, and defending Charlie’s legacy and having to deal with the unimaginable. that people are actually attacking her. And I can’t… I can’t get over it. I can’t… Tucker Carlson is now joining with Candace Owens in questioning who killed Charlie. Who killed Charlie? Egyptians? Israel? The U.S. military? Erica? I mean… The conspiracies, maybe we shouldn’t be surprised. You know, we’re a conspiracy theory rich environment, aren’t we? People love a good conspiracy theory. We didn’t land on the moon. Lee Harvey Oswald didn’t kill Kennedy. The Democrats invented COVID. Yeah. I jest. I’m sorry. Too soon. Maybe too soon. But there’s just so many bad faith actors. And you realize it’s all self-enrichment driven. All these folks want is to make money and make the most noise they can make in the digital space. You know, we used to have a term for this in terrestrial broadcast, shock jocks. Howard Stern became a gazillionaire and a household name because he was one of the original shock jocks. He would just be as shocking as he could be. People would tune in, try to find out how he’d shock you the next time. and lesbian strippers rolling around in vats of jello in his studio. Oh, what wild thing will Howard do tomorrow? And he became very successful as a result. And what’s complicated is baked into the cake of somebody like a shock jock, in Howard’s case, is the realization that he’s one of the best interviewers in the history of broadcasting. I mean, he interviews celebrities with such skill and warmth and relatability and gets people to say things. And look, Candace Owens, Tucker Carlson, Nick Fuentes, you go down the list of these provocateurs, there is a lot of good with the bad. Look, you listen to Candace Owens, there’s a whole lot of people who say, well, you know, she makes some good points. And there’s all this drama about why she’s doing what she’s doing. Look, there are people who are aggravated, annoyed, or critical of Erica Kirk. And not just people on the left. I will tell you, I shared this with you yesterday. Somebody I know quite well just hates her, hates Erica, thinks she’s a grifter, thinks she’s phony. Her husband was gunned down three months ago. And it changes my view of this friend of mine, frankly, because I truly don’t get it. I wish I could get to it. I wish I could understand it. I wish I could understand what drives it. I wish I could figure out the lack of empathy from people. You know, after my wife died, there were a couple of people who made fun of her and me. And I remember thinking, well, they just don’t like me, and they think that’s the way to kind of get back at me or something. I don’t know. I remember those goofy Westboro Baptist Church people were threatening to protest outside my wife’s funeral in Texas. And my kids were like, they better not. And I’m like, oh, that’s all I need. On top of dealing with everything else, dealing with those zanies. Of course, I interviewed them in order to prevent them from protesting outside the funerals of other murder victims. You can look it up. If you’ve been with me for a long time, you remember that chapter in our show’s history. But it got personal because, you know, Denise dies. I get worried that they’re getting ready to protest. I’m thinking, how do I deal with that? And they had me leave the church afterwards because there was concerns. But it wasn’t, there were just a couple, few people that were cruel to me and my family. Not many. There are many who are being cruel to Charlie, his legacy, and to his widow. CBS has a new chief, a woman by the name of Barry Weiss, very controversial pick. She is described as somebody who’s anti-woke, so the left hates her. You know, they don’t like her at all. And who knows, she just announced yesterday who’s going to be the new head of the CBS Evening News. She just made an announcement. Tony, what’s his name, Dokenpool or Dokenpeel, I don’t even know how to pronounce his name. But he’s some square-jawed, kind of younger guy, throwback to the old days of people like Dan Rather and Walter Cronkite. Anyway, she sat down with Erica. for a town hall. And I think it’s going to air Saturday night, but it must have been released early. Clips must have been released because we came across this clip of Barry Weiss from CBS asking Erica about all the personal attacks that she’s had to endure since her husband was murdered.
SPEAKER 01 :
One of the most alarming things about Charlie’s murder was the way that some people in this country reacted to it. Yeah. And not just online. This was kind of this was an idea that you encountered a lot. And the idea was this. they kind of justified it. They basically said that because Charlie said or believed things that they believed were controversial or even hateful, that he somehow had it coming. What do you say to people who justified his death?
SPEAKER 08 :
You’re sick. He’s a human being. You think he deserved that? Tell that to my three-year-old daughter. Excuse me. You want to watch in high res the video of my husband being murdered and laugh and say he deserves it? There’s something very sick in your soul, and I pray that God saves you. I pray because that is what is so wrong. The Internet in this world has dehumanized us.
SPEAKER 04 :
She’s so right. The issue is the dehumanization. We look at these figures as not real, and we probably all do it. I think those of us on the right, we look at the Jasmine Crockett’s of the world or the Nancy Pelosi’s, a couple of loathsome political figures. But they’re somebody’s wife, mother, grandmother. But we don’t look at them as people. We don’t look at them as human beings. We look at them as cartoon characters or just figures like actors in a play. But here’s the difference. If anything, God forbid, happened to any of them, none of us would take delight in their demise. And if any of us did, we would be as sick and twisted and evil as the people heaping ridicule upon Erica Kirk. But it’s a result of this dehumanization that has happened in our culture. You know, and it’s all about making, we’ve got to make boogeymen out of people, good guys, bad guys. If you’re the bad guy, you’re the bad guy. You’re the devil, you’re evil, I want you to die. That’s what the left seems to think. And a lot of people lashed out at Barry Weiss for asking the question the way she did. I don’t have any problem with that question. Because Barry Weiss is right. It’s as if Barry Weiss is incredulous that people actually believe that your husband deserved to die because of his views. And how did we get here? Well, I hate to keep going back to this, but there are people who think that Brian Thompson, the CEO of a healthcare insurer, deserved to die because of the industry that he worked in. How did we get there? Brian Thompson was a husband and a father, a son, a neighbor, a loved one. Luigi Mangione, if convicted, and I expect he will be, just an utter monster, a demon, a devil, who thought pumping bullets into the guy’s back addressed his grievances against the health care insurance industry. That’s not normal. That’s not virtuous. And supporting Luigi isn’t normal. It’s right out of hell. This is right out of Satan. This is a page from Satan’s playbook to portray evil as good. And that’s what’s happening right now. So you can tell me what you think. 800-655-MIKE. I guess the question that I’d ask here on a Thursday in the Relief Factor studios as we buckle up and strap on the armor for another day, how did we get here? How did we get to a point where people are actually celebrating the murder of their political opponents? How did we get here? How did that happen? I am convinced it is the dehumanization aspect. So let me ask you, how did we get to this point? Take a crack at it here on the Mike Gallagher Show and welcome aboard. 800-655-MIKE, 800-655-6453. Call or text us on the MyPillow text line. But however you get here, I hope you get here. You ready to drop up to 20 pounds or more by the new year? Have you been struggling with belly fat forever? SPEAKER 04 :
I love this text from Georgia. Satan is making the most of the short time he has left. He’s taken over people’s minds and he’s using every tool in his toolbox to do it. Here’s a caller on line two, Tom from Maryland. Charlie did have it coming. And, you know, I said to Alex, is he a troll? Does he think that way? And Alex said, oh, I think he thinks that way. But does he or is he just a provocateur? And do I even bother with a caller like this? Do you want me to take a call who thinks that Charlie deserved to be killed for his views? How do you have a conversation with somebody like that? I mean, and, you know, look, this guy, he called a week ago. He’s probably just somebody who wants to get attention. But that’s kind of a microcosm. This caller is like these podcasters and social media influencers who crave attention. The more… angry and conspiratorial and provocative their views are, that satisfies their cravings. And this is kind of gall goes into the mix. And incidentally, you can give me your text opinion if you want to hear it from this guy. I mean, Alex says he’s vicious. He’s just flat out mean and vicious, you know, thinks Charlie deserved to be killed because of his political views and his views on whatever views he held. Now, you want to hear that? How do I even respond to such a thing? How do I even pretend to have like a normal dialogue with such evil people? And let’s face it, we’re all a little bit intimidated by evil. If the left is starting to embrace killing their opponents in order to silence them, you know, we are going to be in big trouble as a society. If the Toms in the world who crave attention are successful, and they, look, look around, look around. Look at what we’ve seen happen. I remember the night that Charlie died. We were in the studio, and we were on the air until 1 in the morning. We had extended coverage. And I thought, because I remembered after Rush Limbaugh died, there were people who were cruel and were glad that his voice was gone. I’ve seen people online be cruel about friends and colleagues of mine like Dennis Prager. would have never imagined that a friend and colleague like Charlie Kirk getting murdered would bring people like Tom out of the woodwork. And I am going to go with most of the texters who are saying that we’re not giving Tom the time of day. Let me tell them in person. No, Tom, we’re not interested in engaging with you, but thanks anyway. Tom? Tom? Yes. Hi, Mike. Hi. We’re not interested in engaging with you, so go away. Excuse me, Mike. You know what?
SPEAKER 1 :
806.
SPEAKER 04 :
I wanted to tell him in person anyway. Melanie is in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Hey, Melanie. Welcome. Merry Christmas.
SPEAKER 07 :
Oh, thank you. Merry Christmas. I love the Salem News Channel, and I tell all my friends and family, you’re not getting the real news unless they watch your program. I am so happy to be able to watch you. Thank you.
SPEAKER 04 :
We appreciate you very much. Thanks. That means the world to us.
SPEAKER 07 :
I’m going to try to be brief because I don’t want to take up a lot of time, but I did in the mail yesterday, just got my AMAC magazine, remembering Charlie Kirk. I will forever keep this on my coffee table. We cherish him. I have three sons in their 30s and early 40s. And when he passed, I mean, we were all just in shock. He gave such an uplift and a refreshing point of view.
SPEAKER 04 :
So let me ask you this quickly because I’m running out of time for this segment. Are you shocked at the hatred that Erica is having to endure?
SPEAKER 07 :
No, it’s satanic. I’m going to pray a hedge of protection around her and her family every day. Because you know what? You don’t have to let everybody get on your boat. And you have to block those people out. I’m telling you.
SPEAKER 04 :
I love it. I love that. And in other words, there’s wisdom in knowing who to ignore. That’s why we said goodbye to Tom. And people are right. You don’t want to hear that. And we shouldn’t have to deal with this. There is wisdom in knowing who to avoid and to block that evil. And like you said, Melanie, good for you. Pray for these people because prayer is the only hope they have. God is the answer, and that’s the only chance they’ve got.

The Mike Gallagher Show in the Relief Factor studios.
SPEAKER 02 :
We need the president and the United States Senate need to be working on things that moms and dads worry about when they lie down to sleep at night and can’t. The United States Senate has to get up off its ice cold, lazy butt. And you can’t use the excuse, well, the Democrats won’t go along with it. Of course they won’t. But we don’t need their votes. We can do it through reconciliation with a simple Republican majority.
SPEAKER 06 :
On Salem News Channel and Salem Radio Network, here’s Mike.
SPEAKER 04 :
Here’s a text from Ron in North Carolina. Wonder how little Miss Joy Reid feels about the song Christmas in Dixie. Oh, no. She’s convinced, I guarantee you, that everybody in the South… playing Christmas carols, are just a whole bunch of racists. I don’t even – all right, so we’ve got the video teed up. We’re over 6,000 kids. Tom Trattop just wrote me, and he’s kind of the architect of all of our campaigns here at Salem. It’s like the counter’s stuck at $59.84. And I know we have more because I just popped in $500, which takes us over 6,000. So I know we’re over 6,000. I know you want to know why Joy Reid thinks Jingle Bells is racist. Because, frankly, we’ve got to have a joyful day today and make fun of the loony left. And Joy Reid, let’s face it, she’s part of the people. She’s got 1.3 million Instagram followers. That’s no, you know, small feat. It’s actually pretty amazing. So I’ve got the video. Let me look one more time. Let me refresh the page. It’s like it’s stuck. For some reason, I think the counter isn’t jumping up because I don’t want to misinterpret why it’s sticking at $59.84. You watch. The next time it jumps, it’s going to jump a lot. I know it’s over $6,000 because I put in $500. So that takes us over $6,000. So with that in mind… If you’re watching on Salem News Channel, you’ll see the video. What she did, what she posted on her Instagram page was a guy wearing a Christmas sweater and a Santa hat. A black guy. Young black guy. And he’s… He’s made the video, and then she reposted it. So let me read it for you. It’s a little hard for me to see the letters. So there’s the guy. He’s got a nice, colorful Christmas sweater on, and he’s got a Santa hat on. And it says, this is where a racist Confederate soldier wrote jingle bells. Oh, that’s what it is. No, keep it paused. Keep it paused. That’s what it is. It’s a Confederate soldier who wrote Jingle Bells. Well, of course it’s racist. If a Confederate soldier wrote it, it must be. And, of course, Eric, you know you’ve got to have jingle bells queued up for me. Let’s find the Dean Martin version. I think the Dean Martin version, if you can find it over there on Spotify, will be good. Bring it up for me again, Christian. Let me see it here. All right, so this is where a racist Confederate soldier – now, this young man in Massachusetts has no idea if the Confederate soldier was racist or not. He may not have been racist. How do you know? Just because he fought for the Confederacy. But anyway, I digress. This is where a racist Confederate soldier wrote jingle bells to make fun of black people. Now, of course, black is capitalized. All right, here’s a plaque. There’s a plaque in Massachusetts. This plaque in Medford, Massachusetts, honors where James, is that Lord Pierpont? wrote Jingle Bells, but ignores its origins in blackface ministry. Wait a minute, now, blackface is not, there’s not a capital B there on blackface. This is very offensive to me. I’m offended. Blackface has a small B. We always have to put a capital B for black, right? Those are the new rules? So there’s a plaque in Medford, Massachusetts, where James Lord Pierpont wrote jingle bells, but ignores its origins in blackface ministry. We can’t ignore these origins here, so let’s move forward. There’s the plaque, Jingle Bells Composed Here. In the mid-1800s, Pierpont broke and needed quick cash to be turned into to the hugely profitable world of minstrel shows. Ah, Jingle Bells was a minstrel song. All right, let’s keep going. And he looks very scary. He’s got a big beard. All right, the song, first called The One Horse Open Sleigh, debuted in blackface in Boston in September of 1857. There’s a picture of, of course, Black Santa on a sleigh. Don’t ask Megyn Kelly about Black Santa. They got her in all kinds of trouble over at NBC. All right, white actors in burnt cork used the song to mock and caricature black people. All right, now we’re back to black with a capital B, so we’re safe here. We’re in our safe space. Black people trying to participate in winter activities, okay? Let’s see what’s next here. I can’t wait. Turn the page. The original lyrics theme of laughing all the way. Uh-oh. Laughing all the way is offensive. Laughing all the way. Likely references a racist comedic routine known as the laughing darky. The original lyrics theme of laughing… I’m not making this up. I’m reading from an Instagram video that has gotten millions and millions of views from Joy Reid. The original lyrics theme of laughing all the way likely references a racist comedic routine known as the laughing darky. Okay? Onward. Pierpont’s other minstrel works included Kitty Crow and the Colored Coquette, reportedly referring to black people as N-word and darkies. Thankfully, they got asterisks over the N-word, so we got to get that covered up, of course, because that’s the right thing to do. In 1859, Pierpont copyrighted his jingle bells, removing the dedication to the minstrel hall manager, John P. Ordway. Ah, that rotten John P. Ordway. You’ve got to kick him to the curb. Okay, moving on. Then came the Civil War. Pierpont abandoned his family. who were northern abolitionists and enlisted in the Confederate Army. Ah, that rotten, enlisted in the, he had left his abolitionist family. He, let’s see, he wrote southern fight songs to rouse men defending slavery. I don’t know about you, but I’m getting convinced. I’m getting convinced here. I think Jingle Bells is racist. Next page. Let’s see what’s next here on this illuminating video. Is that the end of it, Christian? Is there any more? He wrote Southern Fight Songs. What’s the word? Who died in the South? Did he die in the South? I guess he died in the South, which, of course, makes him the ultimate racist. If you die in the South, I mean, you should have died in the North. You should have died north of the Mason-Dixon line. His nephew became the famous financier J.P. Morgan. You mean this monster’s uncle? This was J.P. Morgan’s uncle? And now we’ve got JPMorgan Chase. Over time, the racist origin of the song was whitewashed, and happy myths about its creation became popular. Oh, boy. And there’s a picture of, now they’ve got a picture of white Santa. Now, America’s most popular holiday song is one that began as a mockery of black Santa. People. Okay, there we go. Eric, don’t you do it. Don’t you do it. Do not play it. Don’t you do it, Eric. Don’t do not. Eric, I’m telling you, we can no longer play it. Don’t do it. No, stop it. What are you doing? Eric, stop. Eric, don’t you dare. This is offensive. It’s racist.
SPEAKER 05 :
Ashing through the snow In a one-horse open sleigh Stop it! Make it stop!
SPEAKER 03 :
And you know, if you think about it, Dean Martin was a racist for singing it.
SPEAKER 08 :
And Eric Hansen is a racist for playing this.
SPEAKER 04 :
I have no control. He’s in New York. I’m in Florida. He’s pushing the buttons. I’m trying to make it stop.
SPEAKER 03 :
Oh, the agony. The humanity. No. Stop it. Stop it. Oh, that Dean Martin.
SPEAKER 04 :
Okay, what are you going to do? More coming up on the Mike Gallagher Show. And yes, we are over 6,000 kids in our Angel Tree Christmas campaign. Merry Christmas. Stop it! Merry Christmas from all of us at Team Gallagher.
SPEAKER 06 :
From the wild world of D.C. politics to America’s culture clash, brace yourself for the reality check you’ve been waiting for. The one and only Mike Gallagher.
SPEAKER 04 :
In this back and forth that we talk about regularly on our show of the battle between good and evil, the existential battle of our time, and there’s a lot of evil in the world, we’ve got to remember that there is more good than there is evil. Erica Kirk, in my mind, is an example of the goodness of A young mother who is now tasked with getting through life with a worldwide spotlight on her after her husband was murdered three months ago while sitting on a stage on a college campus in Utah. The hate that she has had to experience and endure is completely, completely unbearable. overwhelming to me. There are things in life I get. There are things I don’t get. I mean, I do understand how online provocateurs make more money. The more clicks they get, the wilder the conspiracy, the more people go to their sites, the more money they make. It’s a vicious circle. Of course, you’re dealing with people’s lives here. There are people whose lives are at stake in You know, I’m not trying to sound melodramatic, but I keep seeing stories of prominent social media influencers who are having bullets fired at them. Their houses shot up. A lot of these people have full-time security. Charlie Kirk had full-time security. And even they weren’t able to prevent the unimaginable from occurring. This is a good day for us here at the Mike Gallagher Show. We soared over 6,000 sponsored kids in our Angel Tree campaign, which is just incredible. And in the spirit of the season, I brought back my Denise’s Preacher Cookie recipe. Every Christmas season, Denise, she was not exactly a master chef. I mean, she would always joke that, you know, the stove on our kitchen was usually used to house the, you know, Chinese takeout that we got or the pizzas that we ordered. Not that she wasn’t capable. I mean, she loved cooking Thanksgiving dinner and she could make a mean preacher cookie. Preacher cookies were the bakeless cookies that Denise introduced to our family. And she got it from her mom. And her mom in West Virginia got it from her mom. And it’s a Christmastime tradition. It is a rich, I’m going to warn you, it’s real rich. I also want to warn you, You don’t put it in the oven. You don’t bake it. These are bakeless cookies. And if you’re good in the kitchen, you know what that means. I barely knew what it means, but we’re going to whip up preacher cookies when I’m with my kids and my granddaughter this Christmas season, this Christmas week, because I’m excited about our Christmas visit. I was worried the other day when I wound up in the hospital with this stupid possible detached retina. I thought, oh my gosh, if this messes up Christmas. Remember a couple Christmases ago when I was… in a production of Annie and I got COVID and I literally spent Christmas week by myself in front of the Christmas tree watching, binging on Yellowstone. That was a couple of years back, so I didn’t want to have another Christmas like that. So anyway, Denise’s Christmas tradition, the Preacher Cookies, are back. The recipe is available at mikeonline.com. Or if you text the keyword Denise to the MyPillow text line, which is 800-655-MIKE, we’ll send it back to you. And you’ll have a great time with these wonderful cookies. Have a cookie in honor of that special lady, my Denise, whose picture, incidentally, is available online. on the website at mikeonline.com or when we send you back the link. Here’s a text from Iowa. Mike, Denise was a lovely-looking woman. I know you miss her very much. What a great time of year to celebrate by giving out her preacher cookies recipe. I’m honored to receive it. North Carolina writes, Mike, your wife looks nothing like I thought she would. She’s beautiful. She looks like a Republican. If she was still alive, do you think she would still be a lib? Dinesh wasn’t a lib. She was a registered Democrat. And she was not a crazy, radical, far-left extremist. No, she would not recognize today’s Democrat Party. There’s no doubt in my mind. I lost her in June of 2008. There is no way. The Democrat Party of 2008 is not the Democrat Party of 2025. Night and day. Night and day. And now becomes the task of what’s going to happen going forward. We’ve got a mass deportation underway. We’ve got good news of a promising economy. We’ve got the interest rate lowered yesterday by the Fed. And I do want to focus, and incidentally, so if you go to MikeOnline.com to get Denise’s Preacher Cookie recipe, while you’re there, please pop in $30, $60, $90, $100, whatever you can afford to bless our Angel Tree Christmas campaign. Because at this rate, I think we’re going to exceed 6,333 kids in the total campaign. The campaign essentially wraps up next week. It’ll technically go through the end of the year, but we’ve only got two more weeks or so until Christmas. So next week will probably be the final official week of the campaign, or unofficially, I guess I should say. So there’s still time to go to mikeonline.com and make a contribution. And I hope you’ll do it in honor of my Denise today. That’s why we brought back the preacher cookie recipe. So if you go to the website to find the recipe while you’re there, take another extra couple of minutes. and bless a child at Christmas time. They’re going to get a Christmas present, a Bible, and a personal message from their mom or dad who is in prison. And there is no show like this one that produces the kind of results for these deserving kids like you do. You are an absolute miracle. You’re a blessing. Nobody ever figures it out. Nobody understands it. We sit around and we have meetings and people say, why does the Mike Gallagher audience… How can Mike Gallagher’s audience donate over $180,000 to a campaign in two weeks? And I just sit back and I say, that’s because this is what this audience does. You step up over and over and over again. And you are a constant reminder of the goodness of the American people. You’re the epitome of the Christmas spirit. And as you’re going to be gathering with loved ones and family members and friends, and I hope you’re able to go to parties and you’re able to be with each other and be with one another and lift each other up, think about that. 6,001 kids are going to have a Christmas thanks to you, thanks to the Mike Gallagher Show audience. That’s over $180,000. It’s remarkable. It’s otherworldly. As I always say, it’s a God thing. And we need more God in our lives, not less. Erica Kirk talked about having God in her life. And I want to share with you her epic response to Harris Faulkner yesterday on Fox News about what the haters are doing to her and her family. Because it’s bad. It really is. So stand by for that here in the Relief Factor studios. My number is 800-655-MIKE if you’d like to join us. Speaking of Christmas with the kids, I was looking at the forecast yesterday. Where we’re going, it’s like in the 20s. I’m hoping there’ll be snow. Right now there’s not any snow, I guess, in the big sky area of Montana, which is where we’re going to celebrate Christmas together. There better be snow.
