SPEAKER 05 :
This is Rush to Reason.
SPEAKER 07 :
You are going to shut your damn yapper and listen for a change because I got you pegged, sweetheart. You want to take the easy way out because you’re scared. And you’re scared because if you try and fail, there’s only you to blame. Let me break this down for you. Life is scary. Get used to it. There are no magical fixes.
SPEAKER 05 :
With your host, John Rush.
SPEAKER 13 :
My advice to you is to do what your parents did! Get a job, Turk! You haven’t made everybody equal. You’ve made them the same and there’s a big difference.
SPEAKER 15 :
Let me tell you why you’re here. You’re here because you know something. What you know you can’t explain, but you feel it. You’ve felt it your entire life. That there’s something wrong with the world. You don’t know what it is, but it’s there. It is this feeling that has brought you to me.
SPEAKER 07 :
Are you crazy? Am I? Or am I so sane that you just blew your mind?
SPEAKER 17 :
It’s Rush to Reason with your host, John Rush, presented by Cub Creek Heating and Air Conditioning.
SPEAKER 16 :
And happy Monday. Rush to Reason, Denver’s Afternoon Rush, KLZ 560. And speaking of Cub Creek Heating and Air Conditioning, Hunter joining me now. Hunter, welcome. How are you, sir? Doing all right. How are you, John? Good. Are you keeping up with all the heat? And I’m sure there’s lots of folks that need your services at the moment.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah, yeah. Actually, to be honest with you, John, I’m not sure if I found a rope or lost my horse, but we’ll catch up here.
SPEAKER 16 :
I was thinking of you over the weekend because, you know, when it gets that hot and I mean, it’s the nature of the beast and it’s true in any industry. But in yours, especially where, you know, you’re helping people with their air conditioning units and whether they need, you know, you name it, whether they’re not working, whether they’re not blowing cold enough, whether they’re looking to do an upgrade. I mean, all of that stuff hits at one time.
SPEAKER 04 :
It really does, and it doesn’t help when we go from rainy and 65 degrees and beautiful for a month to 100 degrees in a few days. So I understand on that that, you know, that’s when everything tends to break, just like in the fall. That’s when furnaces break when it is that first cold streak. So, yeah, but we’re working through it, and we’re happy to help you out if you need it.
SPEAKER 16 :
Okay, so for those listening whereby they might say, listen, yeah, I need to get Hunter and these guys out, but is there anything that I could do on the front side? Let’s say, for example, and I’m on this side of the aisle for everybody listening. I’m sorry to say this, but a furnace when it’s super cold and you need the heat to really you know quote unquote survive is different than trying to survive the heat because i grew up in colorado when we had no air conditioning and it was a luxury and i get it a lot of people today have it but i don’t look at it the same way hunter not having ac you know could you go a day or two without it absolutely can you go without your furnace for a day or two depending upon how cold it is probably not so my point is You may not be able to get out there right away depending upon your loads. Are there things people can do on the front side to see, hey, why is my AC not blowing? Cold.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah, absolutely. And, yeah, you’re right on that. I mean, heating, you’re going to have busted pipes. There could be an emergency. Correct. Air conditioning is a little bit different than that. That being said, some of the stuff you can check. Again, and I know I stress this every time, but again, check that filter. If that filter is any kind of dirty, that could be causing an issue. If you’re feeling any sort of like lack of airflow, lukewarm air coming out of those vents, one good practice typically, especially if that filter is dirty, turn your thermostat on the fan only. and let the fan only run for, I would say, typically about 24 hours. And that, a lot of times what happens is when you have a dirty filter or a dirty condenser or anything like that, our coil ices up, creates an igloo inside the furnace, and then basically you get lukewarm air or no airflow coming out of the vents at all. So in order for us to even look at it, if that is the case, we do need it defrosted in order to test and figure out where where the issue is um so doing that and then trying to turn it back on after an hour i always recommend you know turn it off overnight flip that flip it in the fan only let that just the fan run overnight okay um maybe crack with a couple windows because it does get cool cool it’s still getting down into the 60s and stuff at night it should you should be able to cool off that way um but then at least it buys you some time the other things that typically like to like to give us fits this time of year is always check those breakers make sure the breaker didn’t get flipped um the handyman came over to the house and flipped the disconnect over outside at the ac while he was doing something right always check those disconnects um a lot of times inside those same disconnects or fuses make sure all your fuses are good Same thing, thermostat batteries for those that aren’t on the newer Wi-Fi thermostats and stuff like that. Thermostat batteries are huge. And all of those things kind of in conjunction, if you go through all of those, a lot of times that’ll solve your problem and hopefully help save you a service call as well.
SPEAKER 16 :
And if not, you can call Hunter at Cub Creek. And again, folks, and I’m not trying to downplay it’s hot and it’s miserable and so on. You know, Hunter, I’m not downplaying that at all. But what I am saying is there is a difference between that and, you know, to your point, broken pipes, things like that in the wintertime when the furnace isn’t on. This is a little different scenario. So my point is if you call Hunter and, you know, you guys are a day or two out, it’s a day or two out. You know, you’ll figure some things out, give some of the tips, you know, take some of those tips that Hunter just shared. Gave you guys a moment ago, and if need be, do some of those things on the front side. Again, if you need them for sure, give them a call. Now, last but not least, Hunter, I also know that for folks that are thinking, you know, my unit is getting old, it is still blowing cold, but, you know, it’s not as cold as it used to be, and maybe I should look at doing some of the upgrades that are out there in the marketplace and look at savings. You know, it’s going to cost money, but over time, save money. You guys can talk about that with them as well, right?
SPEAKER 04 :
yeah absolutely and we will um we can walk you through the and that that is our big thing is we’re not going to force you into that sale but if it’s something that you’re looking at and want to do we’re going to give you all the information that you need to make the right informed decision on making that decision on whether it’s time to move to that new system or or you can buy another year or two out of it um and I think that’s hugely important, especially with the cost of everything these days. That is our kind of thing is we want to inform you and let you make the decision that’s right for your family.
SPEAKER 16 :
Yep, that’s exactly right. So, again, for all those of you listening where you’ve got maybe, again, lukewarm air and maybe it’s a little bit colder than what, you know, you’re knowing it’s outside. It’s, you know, 80, what is it right now? 90 degrees right now. So it’s 90 degrees outside. You know that it’s not blowing 90, so it is cooler than the 90, but it just doesn’t seem as cold as it once was. You could have some issues, some of that being what Hunter just recommended a moment ago. It could also be other things, Hunter, from… The compressor is not as good as it once was. You’ve got other blockage going on. You’ve got low freon. I mean, we can go down the list, Hunter. There’s all sorts of other things that could develop out of all of this. If you’ve gone through the basic inspections and you don’t see anything really wrong, then they need to call you.
SPEAKER 04 :
Absolutely. And keep in mind, too, we are empathetic towards you and we are doing the best to get to you. We’re out in the heat working in it. You know, trust me, my favorite thing in the world is to come home and sit in the air conditioning. And when you can’t do that, I get that. That’s right. So we’re working through it. We’ll get to you as soon as we can.
SPEAKER 16 :
Hunter, as always, I appreciate you. I know you’re swamped. I felt bad even taking time out of your day as is, but I wanted to give folks a little bit of insight into what they could do. And then, of course, talk about you and get your number out as well. And I’ll do that again here in a moment. But thank you for taking time out of your day. I know you’re busy. I’ll let you get back at it. But thanks for joining us. I appreciate it very much.
SPEAKER 04 :
Of course, guys, and enjoy the weather.
SPEAKER 16 :
We’ll do it, Hunter. Thank you very much. And again, guys, Cub Creek Heating and Air Conditioning, 303-656-5467, or go to klzradio.com. You can find them there. Always go to my websites as well, rushtoreason.com. You can also find them. And now that Hunter’s gone, really, I do mean to say this sincerely. Be patient. Right now, as you can imagine, when it’s 90 degrees and it’s going to get hotter and have a little bit of a cool down, maybe tomorrow, but it’s going to be almost 100 as we get back into the weekend here right after that. So here’s my point. If you call and it is going to be a day or two before they can come out to see you, just be be sympathetic to that. Understand that they’re you know, they’re doing the best that they possibly can. And they are the right people to come out and look at your air conditioning. And I’ll just tell you, they’ll be the honest people to look at what you have going on and tell you what the problem is. Here’s my point. Don’t call someone else because you think they can get there faster. They may. But you may spend a whole lot more money and even do things that aren’t necessary because you didn’t call Cub Creek to begin with. So just be patient. Let them work through all of these service calls they’ve got right now because they’re going to be extremely busy with it being 90 degrees plus on through the week. So call them. Hunter will get you scheduled. Get out and see you as quickly as he can. And again, find them at klzradio.com. Roof Savers of Colorado coming up next. All right, Mile High Coin, if you’ve got a stash of stuff, could be old gold rings, could be stamps, jewelry, watches, you name it. If you’ve been hanging on to things thinking, you know what, someday I might need that, might want to turn that into cash, wait for that rainy day. Well, guess what? That day might very well be today. Get a free appraisal. Find out what the value is. If you want to turn it into cash, you can. That’s it, Mile High Coin. David Gonzalez, the owner. 720-370-3400.
SPEAKER 18 :
My name is David Gonzales and here at Mile High Coin, we can simplify things and help you better understand what you have. Coin collections can be quite complicated. The coins first have to be identified before they can be valued, and Google only complicates things. Coins have value based on two things. Number one, rarity. A coin is rare based on the combination of date, the mint where the coin was made, and the overall condition of the coin. Coins with lower mintage numbers have higher value. Number two, composition. People often come in with collections that aren’t rare, but the collections can still have significant value based on whether or not the coin is made of gold, silver, or platinum. We are a unique coin company. We are not a pawn coin shop type. We work out of an office and work by appointment. Call us today to schedule a time to take a look at your valuables. We have extensive knowledge in both US and foreign coins. We can also advise you on your jewelry and watch collections. You can reach us at 720-370-3400 or visit our website, milehighcoin.com.
SPEAKER 05 :
God. Country. Reason. Now back to John Rush.
SPEAKER 16 :
All right, we are back. I had a question, too. Before I go to question of the day, somebody asked, hey, with the static that can happen this time of the year with lightning and so on on the AM side, do we care, or do I care, do we care if you guys switch over to the app and listen online or through the app? We don’t care. Whatever floats your boat. Literally, we do not care. Now, here’s one thing I will tell you. A little inside baseball here. If you listen on the app… And we happen to have something that happens. Somebody calls in and something slips out and Charlie has to use Mr. Dump button on it and eliminate them from going out over the airwaves. Those of you that are listening on the app hear all of it. That doesn’t affect you guys on the app side. So realistically, if you want to hear everything that happens and you want to have a little inside edge, listen on the app itself because that’s not controlled by the FCC, not regulated by the FCC the way that our over-the-air signal, of course, is. So not that that happens very often. I mean, I’ll be honest, folks, in a year’s time, I think Charlie could vouch for this, if that happens, a half a dozen times at most, three or four. I mean, it’s rare. It really just doesn’t happen very often. But that’s a little bit of inside baseball on the radio end of things. Things can be said online, you know, through that channel of communication differently than over-the-air communication. And now before somebody texts me something, satellite is different. That’s a subscription-based. That’s a completely different model than what we’re doing here with free over-the-air signals that are sent out. So before somebody sends me a text message saying, well, I heard somebody on satellite say blah, blah, blah, I get that. Yes, they can say more things than… We can and get by with it. Now, me personally, I wouldn’t say it anyways, but that’s just me. So I’m a different host as far as that goes. I don’t think I could get into some of the squirrely things that some do on podcasting and satellite and so on. And no, I’ll never be Howard Stern. Yeah, they do it for shock value, and that’s Charlie talking, and no, that’s not me. I’m not a shock jock, never will be, not what I do, and you guys all know that. But anyways, yeah, no, does it bother us if you switch over? Does it affect us any way, shape, or form? No, it does not. Yeah, Charlie says, tune in to Rush After Dark. Yeah, we’ll get that going here someday. That would be kind of comical, actually. Anyways, question of the day, as we get rolling here into the day’s program. What was the name of some Friday? What is the name of the fictional camp where the original Friday the 13th, back in 1980, where the movie is set? Camp Crystal Lake. That is the answer. Camp Crystal Lake. Today’s impossible question of the day. Name the two words that morphed into one word. Okay, now this, I probably would have gotten this one because I remember this one from a long time ago, something else we were talking about. But name the two words that morphed into the word okay. And it was two words. So answer that on the Facebook page, on our social media, Rush to Reason Facebook page. Okay, news from the weekend. Lots of things that happened, by the way. And, you know, I’ll get into some of the Iran end of things, the war and so on. I’ve got a guest joining us at four o’clock, a Marine Corps colonel, by the way, retired colonel that will join us to talk a little bit about that. So I’ll get more info along those lines from him. And you’ve been able to watch most of the news or most people have. So I’m not going to talk much about that right now. The other big news, though, that I felt was big news because I predicted this. Again, not tooting my own horn, but I will for a moment. Last week I had several, none of you believing it necessarily, but I had several people texting in that, listen, all of these experts and pundits and YouTubers and influencers are talking about how yesterday, Sunday, there would be martial law. That was all being predicted last week, all hyped up. Martial law, martial law, martial law. It’s all coming on Sunday. By Saturday night late, it’ll be instituted, and you’ll wake up Sunday morning to martial law. That’s what a lot of these, you know, I guess, Charlie, you could call these guys shock jock YouTubers. I don’t know how else to say it, but literally that’s what they’re basing things off of. How much shock value is in today’s program? Needless to say, like I predicted, I woke up yesterday morning. In fact, I woke up really early because I had some things to do around the house before having Father’s Day and having the kids over and doing some things along those lines. But I had some stuff I needed to get done around my place. And so I was up very early. And I’ll just be honest. I didn’t even think about checking. I just figured that if martial law had been instituted, it’d be all over my phone. It would have blown up even during the night, and I would know waking up. So I’ll be straight up honest. I didn’t even look. Now, I finally, at about, I don’t know, 10 or so, and I’d been out doing some chores and stuff by then, several hours, I figured, okay, I guess I’ll look and see, you know, where are we at with stuff? And, of course, it was a lot to do about nothing. Nothing had happened. In fact… This is me talking. Charlie and I were talking about this before the break, so I guess you could say both of us were talking about this. The left, those that were in the quote-unquote no-kings movement, all of the protests that happened on Saturday, I will personally – was it successful? They’ll tell you it was the largest protest organized nationwide. Okay, well, you know, so be it. Maybe it was. Although I still think in relation to the population – And how many actual, you know, voters and people that are really into politics there are that are out there. And you look at the actual numbers of all of these events. And by the way, let’s take away and I don’t know what this number is, but let’s take away the paid protesters that were in every city because there were. A lot of places paid protesters. And I’m guessing, Charlie, I’m going to take a guess here. I would bet in some of your larger protests, an easy 10 to 20 percent of those were probably paid protesters. Hard to say. We don’t know. Charlie even raised his hand, said, you know, who knows? Let’s just say, though, it’s 10%. Let’s go a low number. And let’s say that it’s 10% to be fair, 10% in every one of these, even from small town America to the larger cities, 10% of them were paid. So you take what the total was and take 10% away. I mean, were there a fair amount of people that were out over the weekend? Yes. But was it as many as what they want to take credit for? No, there was not. So reality is, personally speaking, in relation to the overall population numbers we have, and as I looked around town and saw all the people driving and all the different things going on, and the people even driving by where a lot of these gatherings were at, a very, very small number in relation. And some of that, by the way, I think is just the sheer stupidity of it. And let me explain. It’s a No Kings Day. Well, number one, what does that mean? I mean, no offense, that’s coming up on July 4th, our Independence Day, you could call No Kings Day. So that’s how dumb the name of it was, because if those people had been around back then, they’d realize that No Kings Day has already taken place, by the way. We did that in 1776 and thereafter. So to me, not as big of a deal. Wasn’t near as much, luckily, wasn’t near as much violence. Most of the cities, there was a few pockets here and there where it was worse than others. But all in all, wasn’t really that big of a deal, and no, there is no martial law that went into effect yesterday. Joe, go ahead.
SPEAKER 08 :
John, I don’t know how you can say those protests weren’t effective, because I woke up Sunday morning and I checked, and John, we had no kings on Sunday morning. So, John, how can you say those protests weren’t effective?
SPEAKER 16 :
Well, you got me there. Yeah, good point.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah, I mean, I was fully expecting that without those protests, we would have had a king on Sunday morning. But lo and behold, we didn’t. So, John, they must have done something. They did their job. They did their job.
SPEAKER 16 :
Unbelievable. I mean, Joe, just—and I’m sorry. If you’re on that side, fine. You know, hey, and I’ve said this before, and I’ll continue to say it. I will protect and stand up for your right to protest peacefully and do the things that you want to do all day long. It is your right to do so. Do I always agree with those things that happen, Joe? I always agree with the right to do so, but I don’t necessarily agree with the message being sent. And this is— Truthfully, this is one where I just thought, how idiotic.
SPEAKER 08 :
How idiotic. By the way, did you hear the 60-second clip from the sheriff of Brevard County about the message he sent to the protesters? Yes. Very solid. About what will happen to you if you do this and what will happen to you if you do that and what will happen to you.
SPEAKER 16 :
Well, you know what? I’ll even give, you know, here in the Denver area, I’ll give Denver PD a hand. I mean, they did a good job. There were several different groups that were trying to get onto I-25, block the roadway. They ended up arresting about 35 people. So there were a bunch of, you know, troublemakers there, Joe, when it was all said and done. And quite honestly, and I’ll give Denver PD kudos as needed, they didn’t allow any of that to happen. They kept that from happening.
SPEAKER 08 :
Well, good for them. I’m surprised, John, but pleasantly surprised.
SPEAKER 16 :
I am too, Joe. I was actually – of all things this weekend, I was shocked at that more than anything.
SPEAKER 08 :
Well, John, I’m shocked to hear it because I would have expected that – because the last time was – I forget what it was a couple years back. They were just letting people – they weren’t arresting people, and the people they arrested, the district attorney dismissed the charges and let them all go. What was the event when they had those big lights?
SPEAKER 16 :
Well, we had all the stuff from Minnesota that kind of carried over. George Floyd. George Floyd and a lot of those different things, Black Lives Matter and so on. I mean, there’s been several of those throughout the course of time since COVID probably where we’ve had some of that. Even, Joe, there was only one fire in Denver that was set that was put out right away, and those people were arrested.
SPEAKER 07 :
Well, good.
SPEAKER 16 :
Yeah. Actually, like I said, I was shocked at that. Actually, I’m being very honest. I was shocked at that.
SPEAKER 08 :
Well, I’m shocked and pleasantly surprised. Well, good to hear it, John. All right.
SPEAKER 16 :
Hey, really quick, one last thing, because I know we talked about the – this was other news that came out over the weekend that I was following a little bit, and it’ll be interesting to see how this all comes out with the India crash on the Dreamliner. But they’re now saying that a lot of folks are recognizing that the RAT, which is a – a little engine, a little turbine engine, propeller engine, not an engine. It’s a propeller-driven motor that keeps a lot of the functionality of the airplane alive when the airplane’s up at, you know, 35,000, 40,000 feet so it can get down safely. That had been deployed, so now they’re thinking maybe complete engine failure twice. And how in the world that happens, Joe, who knows?
SPEAKER 08 :
Well, yeah, and that’s surprising. And, yeah, the rat is – Again, it’s like a little turbine power that will provide auxiliary power. It’s like a little generator.
SPEAKER 16 :
Correct.
SPEAKER 08 :
And if the RAT had deployed, I mean, to get a twin-engine failure, John… I know. You know, once you light a turbine, the only way to shut a turbine… I used to fly a turbine, Eric. A jet engine is basically a turbine.
SPEAKER 10 :
Right.
SPEAKER 08 :
And my plane used to be a turbine. The only way to stop a turbine is to cut the fuel off, just like on a diesel tractor.
SPEAKER 16 :
So now you’ve got to wonder, was it some sort of a fuel delivery issue, contaminated fuel, something along those lines? And, again, these are things, Joe, we may not know for a year.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah, but I also saw that clean wing configuration.
SPEAKER 16 :
Yeah, there’s some new video out. Go check it out. There’s some new video out with a lot clearer image on it that actually shows that that may not necessarily be the case. And the fact that the rat, they can see it, they can hear it. There’s even some audio now that’s come out that’s a lot clearer. You can hear the rat out. I mean, the engines are off and the rat’s the one that’s doing, you know, it’s making the noise.
SPEAKER 08 :
John, I hadn’t heard that, but thanks for giving me the heads up. I’m going to do a little research as soon as I hang up.
SPEAKER 16 :
I was checking that out. I was hoping you would call so you could kind of look at that and give me your – you’re a lot bigger expert on that than I am and give me your opinion on it. And again, Joe, these are things that, as we always say, who knows? We won’t have all the final outcomes of that for at least a year.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah, you’re right. But at the same time, if the engine’s cut out, John, the black box will show that immediately. Yep. The engine data recorder will show that both engines cut. All right. Thanks for the heads up, John.
SPEAKER 16 :

When you pass on, will you leave your family to guess what to do with your possessions, investments, and other assets? Or would you want to make those instructions very clear so your family can know your final wishes in detail? That’s what an estate plan does. It’s not about luck. It’s about making sure what you want to happen is followed, your assets are protected, and your family isn’t left searching for answers. Rely on solid planning from Michael Bailey, not good luck charms. Find the mobile estate planner Michael Bailey on the klzradio.com advertisers page to make sure your last wishes are followed.
SPEAKER 05 :
The best export we have is common sense. You’re listening to Rush to Reason.
SPEAKER 16 :
And we are back, Rush to Reason, Denver’s Afternoon Rush, KLZ 560. Rich Wyatt joining us now, Jeffco GOP Chair. Rich, welcome. How are you?
SPEAKER 06 :
Good, John. How are you today? I’m doing very well.
SPEAKER 16 :
You’ve got an event coming up that you wanted to talk about, so give us some insight.
SPEAKER 06 :
We do. We have Second Amendment Saturday coming up in Jefferson County on June 28th, and that’ll be a full day of training, nine to four. And we’re going to talk about things like situational awareness, being prepared to use deadly force if it should come about, how to deal with the police if they contact you while you’re armed, and then the aftermath, which is so important, of what you do and how you handle it. Do you have an attorney prepared to help you and all these things? And And so it’s going to be a great event. We’re looking forward to that. It’s $150 for anybody that wants to attend. They can go to jeffersoncountyrepublicans.com. But, John, the interesting part was that the location we had it, the cancel culture types of the left have reached out and tried to stop us from having the event and forcing us to try to have a huge level of security from the sheriff’s department that would be unreasonable. And so we basically had to switch the location because we just don’t want to fall victim to that cancel culture mentality.
SPEAKER 16 :
Unbelievable. Okay. And I know this world, as you know fairly well, so do you. I know the type that the 99% that would show up and never be a problem, in fact, would be part of the solution, not part of the problem. So why is it they feel like you need more security than somebody else?
SPEAKER 06 :
Well, what happened was it got blown out of proportion. We had about 40 people that contacted the venue. It was the Jefferson County Fairgrounds. And they made some complaints and then chatter on social media. And they were effective at doing this with the state dinner when Steve Bannon came just a while ago. and they had it moved twice. Well, they’re not going to be effective with us. We’ve moved the location. We’re not going to announce where it’s going to be. Only the people that pay will get the notification the night before. And we’ll have security there, of course, John, as you know.
SPEAKER 16 :
But realistically, Rich, not to interrupt, but realistically, that security is typically more for you guys’ protection than it is anybody else’s. Am I right in saying it that way?
SPEAKER 06 :
Certainly. I mean, we’re not there to help other people. They’re trying to hurt us. And we’ve had events in the past. We’ve had somebody come in, and we just take care of it pretty easily. And the event with Bannon, I did the security for that, and they had about 150 protesters, and it went just fine. We had active law enforcement help us, and Bannon was fantastic. But what I’m afraid of, John, and what I’m nervous about, what I don’t like, is this cancel culture attitude. where they can win by shutting down our events, and basically they’re violating the First Amendment. We don’t want you guys talking. We don’t want you talking about things. We don’t want you winning. Now, we’re going to go out and protest with our Kings, no Kings Day, and we don’t want to be bothered with that, but we’re not going to let you have events. And so we have to be careful. So I’m asking people as a protest against the cancel culture type to come to this event and show them that you’re not going to be stopped. We’re going to go learn this stuff. The Second Amendment is an ironclad constitutional thing that allows us to protect ourselves and to protect our families. And that protection doesn’t stop when you stop the intruder. Because I was a cop 21 years, and people get involved in this situation, and then they have no idea what to do. Or they think they’re saying the right thing, and they say the wrong thing. And next thing you know, they’re in trouble. Like a lot of people wouldn’t think of this. You just shot somebody that’s breaking into your house and is a threat to your family. And when the cops get there, you say, I’m so sorry. You just maybe you maybe you killed a person and you say you’re so sorry. But that’s not the right answer. That’s not the right word to say. It is not. I understand the feeling, and I understand what you’re doing. But that’s why if you go out, if you’re going to be armed, if you have a gun in your home, or if you have a gun in your place of business or your car, you carry a gun concealed, you need to get this type of training. And if you don’t have it, you’re making a mistake that’s going to cost you far more than immediately $150 once you get your butt in hot water.
SPEAKER 16 :
Good point.
SPEAKER 06 :
So, you know, it’s all good stuff. And, you know, the Republican – it’s a fundraiser for the Republican Party. So we’re really trying to get youth involved in Jefferson County right now. And, you know, we want young kids, which are obviously very, very interested. After TikTok got shut down, the youth was like, oh, my God, they were – John, they were literally calling the cops down 9-1-1 saying my TikTok is off. What do I do? And when it turned back on, it said, thank you, President Trump, for turning this back on. So these kids are interested and we want to seize that opportunity in Jefferson County.
SPEAKER 16 :
Rich, if they want to know more, they want to register, you know, all of that, what do they need to do? How do they make that happen?
SPEAKER 06 :
Just go to the Jefferson County Republican website, jeffgorepublicans.com. You can sign up right there. We would love to have all your listeners. Lots of people come. We’ve got plenty of space, and we’re excited, and we look forward to people coming and learning more about their Second Amendment rights.
SPEAKER 16 :
This is awesome. So guys, please get out, get registered, be a part of this. Rich, the other thing I would encourage people to do, and I know you said this, but if you’ve got friends and relatives or young kids or anybody you know that might benefit from this particular training day, on top of that, this is helping you guys. I wanted you to talk about that for a moment as well. This is a fundraiser for you guys in Jeffco GOP, so you can go out and do other things with that cash as well, right? Yeah.
SPEAKER 06 :
That’s right. And what we want to do is reach out to the kids, the youth. And we’ve got programs started now, John, since I’ve taken over. And we’re going out to the schools. We’re reaching kids 15 to 21 years old and getting them. We can pre-register them. And they have to register for whatever party they want. But we’re trying to get them encouraged to register for the Republican Party. And that’s what we have to do. We have taken a backseat and let the Democrats overrun us with this stuff for so long that we’ve got to start being proactive. And we can’t just… beat the same drum over and over. We don’t need a bunch of gray hair guys walking around telling people, you know, we need to get youth involved, kids. So another thing we’re doing, if anybody out there is interested, we are looking to hire young interns, teenage interns to work for us at the Jefferson County headquarters. And you can go to the same website and email us from any of the emails on there. And we would love to have some interns come. It’s a paid job. Not a lot, but it’s some money to keep them having fun. And we just want to get kids involved and get people to see the truth. Not necessarily one-sided thing. Look, I think this way. If we agree 70% of the time, we’re on the same team. Rich, you know what?
SPEAKER 16 :
Some of the same things I preach on this particular program on a routine basis. I mean, gone are the days. And I’m sorry. And by the way, I don’t think they’ve ever existed. There was compromise all the way back when they wrote all of the founding documents that made this country what it is today, Rich. There was compromise on both sides. Very seldom. I mean, your spouse. I mean, rarely do you ever agree 100 percent of the time. with someone else. This whole no compromise thing doesn’t work, Rich. It doesn’t work in our party. It doesn’t work in relationships. And we’ve got to get around that and realize that, listen, as long as we can get the ultimate goal handled, let’s go after it.
SPEAKER 06 :
You know, that’s the problem, John. People can’t be as smart as you and I are. So we got to accept them for what, no, I’m just kidding. We got to bring everybody in. We do. Let people do what they want to do. You’re right. You know, and if we do that, now I’m not saying I’m compromising on hardcore
SPEAKER 16 :
Oh, no, no, no, no. Me neither. No, Rich, there are certain tenets. I mean, for example, First Amendment, Second Amendment. I mean, all of our basic rights. I mean, the things you’re talking about a moment ago, trying to keep the woke crowd out. I mean, there are things that, yeah, it’s a non-negotiable for me. But when we start picking candidates and issues and different things and how we present some of those things and how we win certain areas and so on, we have to be a lot more precise in how we’ve been doing that.
SPEAKER 06 :
absolutely let me say this while we’re here if there’s anybody out there in jefferson county that wants to run for the school board i got to be honest we’re not looking for guys like me or you john to run we’re looking for younger moms that are in the community that want to participate in what their kids are going through at school because what’s going on out there is terrible look at that we just had this psychologist from green mountain high school, who was arrested for not just drug dealing, drug manufacturing, and not just molesting kids, but actually prostituting kids. And we’ve got to stop this stuff. I mean, this is outrageous, you know, that this guy’s a psychologist in a high school. And, you know, it’s just terrible. That was at Green Mountain High School. He was at Evergreen High School. So if anybody out there is interested in running for any of these offices, if you even think you want to, please call us and let us go through the process with you. tell you what’s involved, and see if it’s really for you. And if it is, the Jefferson County Republican Party is going to get behind you. Because I’ve only been in for a few months. We’ve already raised more money. In the last six years, we hadn’t had a single max donor, and now we’re less than three months in, and we’ve got plenty of them. That’s awesome. So people are coming back, and we’re going to fix things. That’s awesome. I can’t fix everything, but we’re going to get it done.
SPEAKER 16 :
No, do it one thing at a time, Rich. That’s how you do it. Absolutely. Absolutely. Well, hey, I appreciate you. Thank you for what you’re doing. And I put the link already in for all of you listening. That link for that particular event will be in our show notes. You’ll be able to pick that up a little bit later this evening after Producer Ann gets all of that up and running on our website. In the meantime, though, you can go to Jeff Coe, so J-E-F-F Coe. JeffcoRepublicans.com, and literally it’s on the homepage. You guys can’t miss it if you go there. So, Rich, I sure appreciate you joining us, man.
SPEAKER 06 :
You bet. No. Appreciate what you’re doing.

SPEAKER 05 :
Now back to Rush to Reason on KLZ 560.
SPEAKER 16 :
And we are back, Rush to Reason, Denver’s Afternoon Rush, KLZ 560. Thanks for tuning in. Paul in Denver, you’re next. Go ahead, sir.
SPEAKER 09 :
Hey, John. I wanted to give you two items. One has to do with my call last week I made to you about my father-in-law’s vision test of DMV and the other Second Amendment issues. Which one would you like?
SPEAKER 16 :
DMV, give me an update.
SPEAKER 09 :
Okay, so a little back and forth. I got initially involved with Steve on your side from Channel 9. He made some initial contacts with Department of Revenue who oversees DMV. And the DMV this morning, the director emailed me saying they would accept my father-in-law’s document from his ophthalmologist certifying that he that his vision is good to go, but they still were going to require him to come in, because somehow, in their mind, that supports the integrity of the process and the safety of all Coloradans. So I pushed back on that in an email. I said, I want you to detail out exactly what my father-in-law is going to do when he shows up to that office, that actually… somehow is directly connected to the safety on the streets beyond what already you have. That’s what I want to know. And so I sent that back, copied it to Steve. And I also just got a call back from Polis’s office. So someone’s going to call me, you know, who’s been assigned to the case. I’m not going to let him get away with this nonsense.
SPEAKER 16 :
That’s exactly what it is.
SPEAKER 09 :
If I have to go in, I’ll go in.
SPEAKER 16 :
No, I think you’re doing it right. Because to your point, at the end of the day, what is him going in? I mean, unless unless, Paul, they’re going to make him do another driving test, drive with them.
SPEAKER 09 :
They’re not.
SPEAKER 16 :
OK, well, then what difference does it make?
SPEAKER 09 :
He doesn’t need to do a test. They’re accepting his paperwork, and he doesn’t have to do a test. So what is he doing there?
SPEAKER 16 :
Nonsense.
SPEAKER 09 :
Except bowing to the powers that be, an 89-year-old. That’s it. Like he doesn’t.
SPEAKER 16 :
That’s all he’s doing.
SPEAKER 09 :
Right. Okay. On Second Amendment, I’ll give you an update.
SPEAKER 16 :
Yeah, keep me going. As you know, for all shows, I’d like to know. Absolutely.
SPEAKER 09 :
Yeah. So here’s a point of information to listeners. John Walsh, who is the Denver D.A., responded in an email to, well, communicated with Denver Police Chief Thomas towards the end of May about a police shooting that occurred on March 20th. There were a few officers involved. They shot one or more of the cops, shot some kid who presented with a firearm that that ended up being a toy pistol. It didn’t have the orange tip on it. It was like an airsoft replica. So in his analysis of the shooting and review of the constitutional elements and the law for Colorado, he did not charge them. And I’ve read the analysis. It’s spot on. So he knows what the law is. He didn’t play politics for that because it was, well, for whatever reason, but it was the police. And he pointed precisely and correctly to the correct reasons. In contrast, we’ve got a state public defender, the head, the woman who’s in charge of the state public defender’s office, who provides defense for those indigent folks who need it. in criminal cases, not civil, but criminal cases such as a shooting, has a very different perspective on these kinds of incidents. I have documentation on her assessment of this very similar type situation. However, even though it involves police, it wasn’t this particular shooting. And she was basically going total woke on it. And she is the lead trainer of all the public defenders in the state. She runs the whole office. She has a whole different perspective. So last week or so, when I went into the monthly police district meeting, I brought it up to the local police. DA rep who comes by every month, and I said, here we’ve got the disparate understanding of what the law is on being able for use of force, because it really isn’t 2A, it’s use of force. The difference between use of force law and Second Amendment, which is the right to carry and et cetera. So it’s detailed out differently. And he had nothing really to say about it, because even he didn’t understand the law. He was kind of squirming and saying, well, there’s a little bit different rules, laws. when police are involved with the shooting. He said, there’s absolutely not. There might be different policies. Obviously, I don’t have a policy for me. I have the Constitution and the law for use of force. But the same use of force that dictates what I can do and what I can’t do for self-defense of myself or others is the exact thing that the police are under. And he didn’t quite get that.
SPEAKER 16 :
It is the same. That’s right. Absolutely.
SPEAKER 09 :
It’s the exact same thing. But I’m not indigent. And I spend a chunk of money somewhere in the neighborhood, you know, I don’t know, $800, I don’t even remember what it was, maybe a year, every year, to make sure, God forbid, I’m in a shooting, I have the best defense in the nation. Virtually unlimited resources. But indigent folks who have the same right of self-defense as you and I have, they’re not going to get that. And it bugs the heck out of me
SPEAKER 16 :
And I brought it up… To your point, they’re not going to get it because of the mindset on that side, right? That’s what you’re really saying.
SPEAKER 09 :
That is exactly right. Well, I don’t know whether or not… I’ll send you an email giving the quotes from this woman who leads that office, because you’ll be… Well, you won’t be astounded, but you’ll be astounded, I think, that she actually put it on paper. And so I don’t know whether it’s… total ignorance of what the law is, or… Or choosing to be ignorant? Which one is it, Paul? Well, that’s right. That’s right. I don’t know. I mean, she doesn’t hide… the political elements of it. She doesn’t, not even close. It’s right out there, right out there, which says a lot in itself. So it’s bad enough that it exists, but then she’s willing to put it out there. And it’s only the governor’s office, I believe, who appoints a committee who gives the names for, you know, who’s involved with the public defender’s office. And so once my father-in-law stuff is dealt with, then I’ll address polis on this issue. And I don’t know where to go with this. I’m open to suggestions, but it’s horrific that she has this perspective.
SPEAKER 16 :
Well, I think part of what you’re doing right now is doing some of that putting – some, you know, over-the-air pressure, I guess you could say, Paul, and then I would just continue to do that. And this is where, you know, outside of that, you’ve got to get other legislative people willing to listen to you. They’re not going to be on the other side of the aisle, of course, but, you know, they might be in some cases, actually. Depends upon who you find, but I think that’s the other way to, you know, to start pushing this forward is you got, you know, what’s that old saying, Paul? The squeaky wheel gets fixed.
SPEAKER 09 :
Well, you got to speak up. If it bugs you enough, don’t think it’s just going to happen overnight. you know, through, you know, uh, the virgin birth, it’ll happen because somebody speaks up and a bunch of people speak up. So I, I will continue to do that. I’m trying to identify a legislator, a state legislator that, uh, will listen to this. If you know anybody, uh, send them my way, uh, you know, let me know who, and I’ll do a sit down with them, explain the situation, show them the letter and, that I have that she mailed out to somebody I know that details her perspective and her knowledge on this issue and what the risk is to antigen people in this state at that point.
SPEAKER 16 :
Okay. I would appreciate that. Paul, thank you very much. Thanks for the updates. I appreciate it, sir, very much.
SPEAKER 09 :
All right. Take care.
SPEAKER 16 :

SPEAKER 16 :
All right, rounding out this hour, the other thing that I did see yesterday that was just awful, it was going on Saturday while I was on air and couldn’t tell everything that was happening because of the manhunt that was ensuing and so on. And I don’t know if I’ll say this last name correctly, but Vance, is it Bolter? Charlie, am I saying that correctly, out of Minnesota? He is the weirdo knucklehead, and I’m not claiming him on my side. I’ll just say that straight up. Someone’s going to say that, yeah, this guy’s a hardcore conservative Trump supporter and so on. No, this guy’s a nutjob. Sorry. This guy is a total weirdo nutjob. He targeted certain individuals in the Minnesota House of Representatives, killed two people, wounded two others. Trump condemned the attack. I’m condemning the attack. I don’t care who Yeah, he had a fake police car, fake uniform. He owned a security company, by the way. And I’ll just tell you straight up, this guy is an absolute nut job. And no, I am not claiming him on my side, either on the faith side, on the conservative side, on the nothing side. I’m not claiming him. Now, you know, some out there, the left may claim that he’s one of us. No, folks, I’m going to tell you straight up, those of you on the left, he’s not one of us. I condemn these sorts of people on our side of the aisle continually, and I will continue to do so. Anybody that is this, you know, what I would call, quote, unquote, radicalized, I’m not claiming. He is not one of us. This is not what normal, rational people do. I mean, this guy had everything all dialed in, had a list of names of people that he was going to go after. He had actually served on a particular board from the governor. Tim Waltz has appointed him to a particular advisory board that he was on as a business member of that particular board for a while. Now, some of the first things that came out were, you know, this guy had ties to walls, this, that and the other. I’m not going to that extreme either. I don’t know. what his ties are. I’m also not one of these, and those of you that are on my side of the aisle, please refrain from doing this. Some of you that are claiming, oh, this is just a big PSYOP operation, you don’t have the foggiest idea what this is. Shut up. And I mean that sincerely. You don’t have a clue what this is. You don’t know what this guy’s motivation was. You don’t know where he’s coming from. You won’t know some of that for, you know, it might be several months before you even know some of this. So some of you coming out saying, you know, you can’t claim what this guy did was, you know, was this set or the other. This was a total psyop. You don’t know that. And don’t be a dodo head and repeat that and say that. You’re as much of a dodo head as he is. I’m going to be straight up honest. You’re a moron. You don’t know what this was. So don’t put anything out on social media like that until you know. That’s what gives our side such a wackadoodle, kooky, you know, theme to it at times. You don’t know what happened here. You’re assuming something you can’t back up. And what’s that old saying? Anytime you assume something, you make an ass out of you and me. And that’s exactly what you’re doing. So don’t do that. Some of you that have put that out there, and some of you probably listened to this program, take it down. You have no idea what was going on here. You don’t know what the motivation was. You don’t know who’s behind this. Don’t be stupid. Take that garbage down and own the fact that a tragedy happened, and you don’t know what the meaning of it was. And the fact of the matter is this guy was an absolute wackadoodle. And who knows what’s going to happen to him next other than it’ll be a long trial and he’ll have life in prison before it’s all said and done, I am sure. So we’ll see how that all pans out. But don’t talk stupid when you can’t back it up. I’ll just say that in closing. We’ll be back. Hour number two is next. Rush to Reason, Denver’s Afternoon Rush, KLZ 560.
SPEAKER 07 :
I’m a rich guy.
