HR1 Rush To Reason December 16, 2024 by John Rush
SPEAKER 03 :
This is Rush to Reason.
SPEAKER 08 :
You are going to shut your damn yapper and listen for a change because I got you pegged, sweetheart. You want to take the easy way out because you’re scared. And you’re scared because if you try and fail, there’s only you to blame. Let me break this down for you. Life is scary. Get used to it. There are no magical fixes.
SPEAKER 03 :
With your host, John Rush.
SPEAKER 08 :
My advice to you is to do what your parents did! Get a job, Turk! You haven’t made everybody equal. You’ve made them the same, and there’s a big difference.
SPEAKER 09 :
Let me tell you why you’re here. You’re here because you know something. What you know, you can’t explain. But you feel it. You’ve felt it your entire life. That there’s something wrong with the world. You don’t know what it is, but it’s there. It is this feeling that has brought you to me.
SPEAKER 13 :
Are you crazy? Am I? Or am I so sane that you just blew your mind? It’s Rush to Reason with your host, John Rush. Presented by High Five Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling, where every call ends with a high five.
SPEAKER 10 :
And it is. Happy Monday, everybody. Welcome, Rush to Reason, Denver’s Afternoon Rush, KLZ 560. Tom from High Five joining us now. How are you, sir? I’m doing well. How are you doing today? I’m doing very well. So you guys all ready for Christmas and New Year’s, I should say?
SPEAKER 11 :
Yeah, absolutely. You know, we’re gearing up as the holidays come in. So do the calls, as you probably know.
SPEAKER 10 :
So, yeah, absolutely.
SPEAKER 11 :
We’re gearing up.
SPEAKER 10 :
So a little bit of advice from you guys on, you know, as we go through the holidays and people will do all sorts of things, there’ll be. Everything from extra load on the plumbing, sewer, pipes, all of that, also on the electrical end of things, depending upon how many folks you have in your home. What things should folks be – how should I say this? If there’s anything they could do on the front side, what would that be?
SPEAKER 11 :
Yeah, absolutely. I mean, one of the things that we’re definitely recommending people do, and I talked about this last time you and I spoke, but we always recommend now’s a good time of year to get your sewer line inspected. Make sure you’re not going to run into any big issues, especially, you know, it’s hard to get in touch with people. Obviously, it’s not hard to get in touch with High Five, but we’ll get out to your house and make sure that you’re prepped for the holidays so that you don’t find yourself on Christmas Day without, you know, with some kind of clog or anything like that. So we’re here to help and Yeah, you kind of touched on electrical as well. You know, with Christmas lights and everything like that, just greater use and wear and tear on your electrical systems, it’s just good to make sure that your home is prepared to face all that extra wear. So we’re currently offering $500 off any electrical panel upgrade as well. So that’s obviously a huge perk that we’re extending to your listeners right now. So, yeah, all parts of your house need to be cared for, especially during the holidays.
SPEAKER 10 :
That’s awesome. And for some of you listening where you may – I don’t know, you know, Tom, there’s everything from, you know, people do, you know, Christmas lights this time of the year to all sorts of other things that may be happening. And, you know, they maybe are, you know, running an extension cord in some places where, you know, let’s face it, there could be some trip hazards and just not a good situation at the end of the day. You guys can add. And for those of you listening, believe me, you can add outlets. In fact, is there really any limitation on where you can’t put an outlet?
SPEAKER 11 :
Not really. You know, there might be certain regulations and obviously our professional certified electricians will make sure that we’re following everything that needs to be followed, make sure you and your family are safe. But yeah, exactly like you’re saying, electrical outlets outside have been, you know, one of our main things that we’ve been getting lots of calls about because it just adds a lot of ease and comfort to the homeowner. Like you mentioned, trip hazards and other issues with extension cords. So absolutely, we can equip your home for whatever it is that you need.
SPEAKER 10 :
Especially for those of you that are listening where you find yourself always, you know, man, I’ve got to drag a cord out to do whatever. And, again, Tom, it could be any number of different things. And, again, with all the different folks that I have listening, we’ve got a lot of do-it-yourselfers and so on that are out there that do things out of the garage or the shop or whatever. And nothing worse than having to drag an extension cord out every time you want to do something where if there was an outlet there, you just wouldn’t have to do it. So for a lot of you listening, it could be not only – You know, Tom, the safety factor, but just the whole time savings factor as well.
SPEAKER 11 :
Yeah, absolutely. It’s a huge time saver. And, you know, we always talk about, you know, how to avoid those sort of scary things that can happen when things go wrong. But obviously your home is one of your biggest assets, and it’s great to invest in the things that are going to actually add value to your home, add value to your day-to-day life. You know, we’re currently offering $500 off tanked water heaters. So, you know, if you’re not getting as much hot water as you need or if your water is too hard, we’ve got water treatment systems available. touchless faucets, touchless toilets. So really whatever it is that people want to add to their home, it really contributes more to the day-to-day life than people even know. So absolutely the holidays are the right time to start those projects.
SPEAKER 10 :
And you guys know when I talk a lot on Fix It Radio on Saturday mornings about the upgrades and things you can do to your home, things that add value to your home, whereby maybe it makes your home worth more dollars, or, Tom, it makes that home more sellable. Somebody’s looking between two different houses, but yours has a few added touches that the next one doesn’t have. All of these things at the end of the day can actually help you on that end of things also.
SPEAKER 11 :
Yeah, I mean, I’ll tell you what, I’m currently on the house market, and when I go into a house and I see outdated systems and things like that, it’s a headache I don’t want to deal with. So 100%, I think that it adds more value than people even realize.
SPEAKER 10 :
Absolutely. And folks, even the whole lighting end of things and looking at some of the smart lighting, maybe, Tom, next month when I have you on, we can get into a little bit more of kind of how the smart end of things works, which on the electrical side, which… They’re doing some things even on the plumbing side now as well. I mean, bottom line, you can really get things dialed in if you really want to.
SPEAKER 11 :
Yeah, absolutely. Add value to your home. Add value to your life. And, yeah, you know what? I want to get our electrician service manager on the phone with you so that he can tell you more about all that. Perfect.
SPEAKER 10 :
So absolutely, let’s chat about that. Okay, we’ll do that. We’ll do that. All right, in the meantime, Merry Christmas to all of you guys, to Levi, Cassie, everybody there, the whole team. We really appreciate you guys and wish you guys the best for Christmas and New Year’s. And, man, this year has flown by. That’s all I’m going to say.
SPEAKER 11 :
I know. I know. Absolutely. Yeah, absolutely. And thank you for the call. And yeah, to all your listeners, God bless and Merry Christmas.
SPEAKER 10 :

All right, Roof Savers of Colorado. I was talking to Dave Hart this morning, by the way. And, yes, he can do lots of roofing things when it’s, what is it now, 47 degrees outside. Actually, really nice weather for this time of the year. And as long as there isn’t snow on the roof and we’re above about 40 degrees outside, Dave can pretty much do anything your roof needs, including full replacement. He can even treat your roof if it’s above 40 degrees. So you name it, he’s there to help you. Commercial, residential, get your roof handled by the time the next storm hits. Talk to Dave today, 303-710-6916.
SPEAKER 01 :
At Roof Savers Colorado, we are about more than roofs. We are about helping you make the best decisions with the right information. Being a homeowner isn’t getting any easier or cheaper, and neither is getting your roof the solution it needs. Deductibles are going through the roof, and with every passing year, insurance covers less than the one before. Due to a record amount of hailstorms recently, insurance companies have started limiting your coverage and pulling out of states entirely. We know the industry. With over 3,000 roofs under our belts and 23 years of experience, Dave Hart and his team are ready to complete a free roof inspection and discuss the option that is best for you. Don’t wait. Policy renewals are increasing by as much as 50%. Now is the time to get the solution you need. Call Roof Savers Colorado today at 303-710-6916 or go to roofsaversco.com. That’s 303-710-6916 or go to roofsaversco.com to schedule your free inspection and start saving your roof today.

Reading is fundamental to understanding the world, and that’s why author Mike Goldstein wrote American Stonehenge. This breathtakingly beautiful book was written in order to bring parents and grandparents together with their children to enjoy stories while they learn to read. The book follows a boy and his immortal telepathic dog, with whom he communicates as they travel through time to learn about the dog’s experiences through history. The book is historically accurate, including the illustrations, so you and your little one will learn something about the history of God’s beloved Earth. The time that you spend with your children laughing and enjoying this beautifully written book will be something you treasure for a lifetime. SPEAKER 03 :
God Country Reason Now back to John Rush.
SPEAKER 10 :
All right, as a reminder also, before I do question of the day, we need Christmas song requests for Christmas Day. And if there’s any short stories, videos that would make good audio that you would like to hear on Christmas Eve, we would welcome those as well. Just either send them to me in an email or text message, either one, and I’ll get those to Charlie, and he can get those set for those two days. 307-282-22, of course, is our text line. Or you can send us an email. Just go right to rushtoreason.com. The impossible question of the day. This is from Friday. What do the residents of the Galapagos Island use in place of a formal postage system? It is a barrel. There you go. I guess it’s a small enough item or small enough island. You just go throw your mail in the barrel and there you go. Today’s impossible question. Who wrote Christmas doesn’t come from a store? Maybe Christmas perhaps means a little bit more. So who wrote that? Now, that’s all, you know, in fun, and Christmas is great, and we want to, you know, have as many of the songs and different things that we can play for Christmas Day in more sad news. And I have to mention this because it’s all over the news. I do not know all of the details. This came out not long before actually driving down to the station today, and that is the tragedy, the shooting that’s happened in Madison, Wisconsin. It was at a private school, Abundant Life Christian School. At this point, there are two dead, six injured, and that’s about all the details at this point. We know, and you guys know my rules on this, I will not make any sorts of speculations as to who it was or what happened or any of the details because, frankly, we won’t know until more comes out here in the few days left. But it’s never good when these sorts of things happen. And, of course, as we know, the other thing that will happen is, you know, the left will jump on this. And this is where they really start pushing, you know, gun control and all sorts of things along those lines. It will be interesting in this particular case, though. And I feel free to say this. It will be interesting to see what happens in this case, given it’s a Christian school and not a public school. In other words, how the left reacts to this. So, again, I don’t know the details, don’t know exactly what happened, don’t know who was involved, who was even injured or killed. Again, we don’t—there’s way too much information. unknowns, I guess I should say, to really understand what’s happening at this point. And more will be unfolding as, of course, the day and the weeks go on. But, of course, our prayers go out to all of those individuals that have been affected by that. And I think it’s just one of those reminders that, you know, You never know on any given day what may happen. So love your family, love your kids, give them a hug before they leave, give them a kiss, all those things. And sometimes we get so busy and so involved in what’s going on with life. And yes, life becomes that way. I get that. But sometimes we forget to sort of take those moments. And yet, you know, there’s no guarantees. I talk about that with Michael Bailey. He’s our mobile estate planner. You’ll hear from him in this next block, and the reality is we don’t know. We really don’t. We don’t know what’s going to happen tomorrow, and this is a reminder of that, and it can be any time, any place. Unfortunately, we live in a fallen world with some very sick individuals, and I mean that sincerely. Anybody that would take someone else’s life is sick, literally sick and twisted in one way or another. There’s a screw loose somewhere. Sorry. You don’t take another person’s life without having something like that. And I don’t care if you’re a mass murderer and it’s premeditated or it’s a school shooter or it’s a whatever. You don’t take someone else’s life without having a screw loose. That I can guarantee you. I don’t know this whole situation, but that’s one of those things that I can guarantee. So at any rate, we will see how this all plays out. But, yeah, that’s all over the news. I just want to make sure that I mention that in case you hadn’t seen the news yet. So be keeping those people in your prayers. All right, other big news. And this has been going on for a little bit now. I didn’t talk about it much last week, and several people even asked me if I would. I didn’t have a lot of opinions last week. And as I watched through the weekend and followed a few different people and saw some different video and so on, and I’ve had several of you text and ask me, what are my thoughts on all of the drones back east, New Jersey, that area? What’s my thought? And I am no expert in drones. I’ll be the first to admit, although I feel like and I do my best to have common sense and apply that to most things. You guys also know that I am about as anti-conspiratorial as it gets. Now, I was on the side of anti-vaccines and all the COVID stuff and so on, although I didn’t see any of those as being conspiratorial because there was facts to back those things up. So a lot of people maybe on the left thought I was a conspiracy theorist, but I was not. I was using real data, real science, and things that we and Dr. Kelly Victory and Steve House talked about every single Thursday, so I didn’t put myself in that camp at that time, nor do I now. I don’t in the case of these drones. Now, I know that the new name for UFOs is something different, still UFOs. Do I think this has anything to do with that? No, I do not. Do I believe in extraterrestrials and, you know, aliens from other planets? No, I do not. And some of you would say, well, why? I don’t. No proof. No proof. In fact, the little bit that you see is sort of like Bigfoot. Why is it that every picture of every flying saucer and every alien is fuzzy? Just like every picture of Bigfoot is fuzzy. Has anybody ever seen a clear image of Bigfoot? Charlie, have you ever seen a clear image of Bigfoot? No. They don’t exist. And part of that’s because he doesn’t or whatever it is. She does. Is Bigfoot married, Charlie? Is there a little Bigfoot? I mean, Littlefoot? I don’t know. I guess there’s a cartoon Littlefoot or something. Wasn’t there a movie or something, Littlefoot, at one time, Charlie? Disney something or other? I don’t know. Anyways, do I believe in any of these things? No, I do not. I know some people probably think that I’m weird for not believing in these things, but I don’t believe in these things. Folks, I don’t even believe in ghosts at all. It’s not scriptural. Now, before you go off on me and talk to me about the few, few minor places in Scripture that talk about ghosts, remember that what was happening there was very, very specific to a certain situation going on that Scripture and or, you know, God himself was involved with. And I don’t believe that’s on an everyday level. And I know I’m going to get all sorts of messages and videos and stuff sent my way, but no, I don’t believe in ghosts. Just don’t. I have my own theory of where we go when we die. Yes, we go to heaven, but I have my own theory on even that whole end of things, which is different than most. And I will not get into that today because I’m not going to debate people and get into a deep discussion on something that, frankly, no one can prove. Most people can’t even prove what they think happens when you die as far as heaven and all of that goes. Do I believe we’ll spend eternity with Christ, God the Father, and the Holy Spirit? Absolutely. Yes, I do. How that all happens, though, honestly… is open for debate on all sorts of levels, and the Church itself has been debating those things, Charlie, for, what, the last 2,000-plus years or so, I’m guessing? And with some really getting out there on different beliefs and even breaking communion over certain things along those lines, which, by the way, is really stupid. But I’m digressing, going back to these… Drones in New Jersey. Do I believe it has anything to do with some sort of an extraterrestrial spaceship out in the ocean that these things are flying up out of and so on? Hogwash. No, I do not. Do I think that there are a lot of people out there that would like you to think that? Yes. I think there’s even some folks inside of government that would like you to think that. I really do. And I say that to say this, going back to Scripture. Scripture is very clear about the second coming of Christ. Again, lots of debate over when that would take place. And I’m not going to get into that. That’s not what I’m here for. That’s not what this program is about. But we all, at least I do as a Christian, believe in the second coming of Christ. Now, with that second coming of Christ, and I think most people believe, it’s a matter of when that happens, of course, but most people believe there will be a rapture, what it’s called, of the saints. And you’ve seen the movie, you know, a lot of people have anyways, the movie Left Behind where, you know, folks are doing different things. And when that event takes place, some people just vanish, go missing. They’re caught up, if you would, quote unquote. My own personal belief is as we get closer to that, this whole UFO nonsense is so when that does take place, that’s what they’ll blame it on. They won’t blame it on a second coming of Christ. They’ll blame it on—or attribute it to, I should say. Blame is not the right word. They won’t attribute it to Christ bringing all of his followers to him. They’ll attribute it to aliens and things along those lines. That’s my own belief. And, again, you can debate me on that, but that’s what I feel. I think we’re being conditioned— if you would, for that event. Does it mean we’re getting closer to that event? Folks, we’re closer every day. When is it coming? I don’t know. And by the way, if anybody tells you they do, they’re a wackadoodle. They don’t know either. Run, because they don’t know either. Many a Christian leader… Over the course of my time, even, because I grew up in the church, as did Charlie, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard somebody give a somewhat specific time frame as to when Christ would return. And it, as we know, hasn’t happened yet. But I do believe that a lot of this whole UFO thing that is going on out there and even more folks trying to dig into different things and even Capitol Hill the other day talking about underwater beings and cities and so on, I just feel like a lot of that, and unfortunately there’s even Christians involved in some of that, I just think that we’re being conditioned to have that event attributed to something other than what it really is. Because they’re not going to want to attribute that to something spiritual, something godly. No, they’re going to try to attribute it to something else, because that’s what man does, by the way. We try to take everything away from God and replace it with something else. In this case, I believe it is aliens and UFOs. So that, to me, is why you’re seeing a lot of different things, even with these drones, regarding that. I don’t think any of those are true. And the problem in today’s world with AI and everything else we have going on, you can’t even believe half of the images and videos that you see. I say half. It’s probably way above that even. You have to be really careful with what you’re seeing in a video and believing it’s true or not because with all of what goes on with AI and manipulation of video and even sound and pictures and so on, yeah, you cannot believe most of what you see. So be really careful when you tell somebody, well, I saw a video that – okay. Sorry. Sorry. Do I see it with my own two eyes? Yeah, I’m not believing that. Now, what I will say in closing, because I’ve got an expert that’s somewhat of an expert that’s going to join us at 4 o’clock to talk about this. Do I believe these drones, you know, do I believe they’ve come from inside the U.S.? Yes. Do I believe these are a foreign player? No. No. I believe these are coming from our own either military, Department of Energy, something along those lines. And there’s even theories on the Department of Energy that there’s some nuclear warheads and things like that that they may be looking for and so on. Folks, again, I don’t know. What I do know is this. All of these drones that I’ve seen images of have the lights on them, which, by the way, are FAA required. All of them are flying at 400 feet or below, which is also an FAA requirement. So I would kindly ask anybody that would think this is a foreign adversary that’s doing these things and or an alien, why would a foreign adversary or aliens abide by what the FAA says? That’s a really simple question if you ask me. Why would an alien ship sending drones in and or a foreign adversary play by the rules as to what the FAA has set? And the answer is they wouldn’t. They wouldn’t. And, again, I don’t believe there’s any extraterrestrials anyway, so that’s out of the picture for me. But a foreign adversary, would they abide by what the FAA has set? No. They would not. And there’s even some discussions out there that this is a foreign adversary trying to take out Donald Trump before ever taking office January 20th. Again, folks, common sense would tell you, would tell me, why would they be doing that now when we’re over a month out from inauguration? Why would they not be doing this the day of or a day before? Why do this well over a month out? Now, I’ve got other theories. We’ll talk about some of that at 4 o’clock as to why I think our own military may be doing these things and why they may not be owning up to this at this point. I’ve got my own thoughts and feelings on that. Does any of this make me nervous? No. I’ve had that question come in on the text line as well. Do any of these make me nervous? No, they do not. Haven’t lost an ounce of sleep over these things at all. Again, we’ll talk more about that at 4 o’clock. Hi-Fi Plumbing is next. We talked to Tom there a moment ago. Now, back to Rush to Reason, presented by High Five Plumbing, Heating and Cooling, where every call ends with a high five.
SPEAKER 10 :
We are back. Rush to Reason, Denver’s Afternoon Rush, KLZ 560. Jeremy Beck joining me now, filling in for Eric Roark. Appreciate you, Jeremy, by the way. Vice President of Initiatives and Activism at Numbers USA. Welcome back, by the way. Thank you very much. Good to be back. Always a joy having you. Donald Trump has vowed, or pledged, I should say, to limit birthright citizenship as soon as he enters office. Talk to us about that.
SPEAKER 12 :
Yeah, so the key word there is limit. Some people say, you know, it’s end or abolish, but it’s really to clarify the automatic granting of U.S. citizenship to children who are born inside the United States. The problem is, the United States and Canada are the only countries in the developed world who haven’t gotten rid of this practice because it’s just completely incompatible with the modern world of travel, flights, etc. Right, right. Right now, you could come into the country on a tourist visa or cross the border illegally, spend the weekend, go to an amusement park, deliver a baby, and that baby will be granted U.S. citizenship. And when that baby turns 21, it can then sponsor the parents as well as adult siblings and so on, creating this chain migration. It adds about 400,000 people a year, and those are numbers… That predate the border surge that we’ve just seen. So we know that the numbers could be so much bigger right now because we’ve just had 8 million people over the last four years either cross the border illegally, get released into the United States when they were inadmissible, or overstay. a U.S. visitor visa. So these numbers could really be a lot bigger in the coming years, and they make it incredibly difficult for President Trump to fulfill his other campaign promise, which was to basically rectify the mistakes of the Biden administration at the border. It makes it very hard to just say, like, hey, we’re going to correct these mistakes. if you are at the same time granting a green card, granting U.S. citizenship to the children born of the people who should not have been admitted in the first place.
SPEAKER 10 :
Should there be any exceptions to that?
SPEAKER 12 :
Well, first of all, again, we’re talking about limiting it, so this doesn’t touch U.S. citizens or legal permanent immigrants. If you have a green card here, you’re essentially a member of the national community just without the U.S. citizenship. There are proposals in Congress right now for bills to also make exceptions for legal immigrants who aren’t necessarily green card holders but are in the country legally and who are serving in the armed forces. Those are the exceptions that bills tend to have.
SPEAKER 10 :
You know what, I can get behind that. I wouldn’t have any issues with that. My issue, like you were saying in your explanation, is we call them anchor babies for a reason because in a lot of cases, Jeremy, as you know, and for those of you listening maybe that don’t know this, there are some, Jeremy, as you know, will time this just right to where what you just said happens, and that’s their shoe-in.
SPEAKER 12 :
There’s a birth tourism industry around the world, and very occasionally, every few years or so, there’ll be some CBS or PBS or somebody would do some story on it. But it’s around the world. They offer tourism packages to come to the United States. to have a baby. Now, you’re not supposed to come to the United States for the purpose of having a baby, but it’s very easy to say like, oh, I’m not coming to have a baby. I’m coming to visit my family or to, I wanted to see SeaWorld or something like that. And these packages range from the luxurious high-end shopping, you know, get your nails done, all that kind of stuff, to truly dangerous. There’s been stories out of New York City and Queens uh… birth tourists who end up uh… you’re dying because they’ve given birth in the squalid conditions uh… but that alone tells you that it’s a it’s a practice that again is just incompatible with the modern world we shouldn’t be uh… we shouldn’t have a practice that supports aid global birth tourism industry u.s citizenship should be the most cherished possession in the world agree shouldn’t be something that you you know you go to a travel agent pick for to get
SPEAKER 10 :
I’m a big proponent, and we’ve talked about this before, of a merit-based immigration system. I know this is a little bit of a side jaunt off of what we were talking about in regards to the birthright citizenship. But when it comes to merit-based immigration, do you feel like that’s anything at all that Donald Trump can at least start working towards?
SPEAKER 12 :
Well, I think there’s a lot of merit to that discussion. You know, one of our spiritual godmothers of numbers, USA, who chaired the last bipartisan U.S. Commission on Immigration Reform, said, you know, immigration is not a privilege, or it’s not a right, it’s a privilege. We get to choose, you know, who comes here. And part of that is you want to choose people who you feel, you know, are going to contribute to the society. And we basically have We basically have two kinds of choices. You choose what kind of family members do you want to prioritize. And we support the Barbara Jordan recommendations of you prioritize spouses and minor children. Immigration policy shouldn’t be an obstacle to marrying the person you want to marry or adopting or bringing in your minor children. And then the other side is, you know, what kind of workers do we want? What kind of skills do we want to bring in? And there can be an argument for any number of kinds of skills, but how many people in certain industries do we need? And the problem with things like birthright citizenship is it’s a complete roll of the dice. It has nothing to do with either of those things. It’s not even the minor child of capitalism. a citizen or legal permanent residence, the minor child of a foreign national who’s a citizen of another country. And so it’s random in that sense. It’s very similar to something like the visa lottery, which literally raffles off 50,000 green cards every year. We’ve got things like that in our immigration system. Part of our legal system that needs to be reformed and a merit-based system could certainly be part of that. President Trump in his first term endorsed the RAISE Act, which was a bill that would it would eliminate extended family automatic chain migration. So you could still sponsor your spouse and your minor child, but you wouldn’t then be bringing in adult siblings and their spouses and their children and your parents. Your parents could come and stay on a renewable visa, but they wouldn’t be a gateway for entire communities and villages to come here completely regardless of their skill. So that would be something that we’ll be looking for. This goes back to the border promises again. Part of the issue, you know, right now you talk about people who are having children here, then they get citizenship, and then because of things like chain migration, they can start sponsoring this new chain of immigration that has nothing to do with the priorities of the American people or the American Congress.
SPEAKER 10 :
And from what I’ve talked to, Jeremy, when it comes to folks that have already immigrated here, they’ve gone through the arduous process of making that happen, the very lengthy process of becoming a citizen. I will tell you, Jeremy, that they are probably, in relation to who wants to see things revamped, fixed, and borders shut down, it’s them more than it is a lot of regular citizens.
SPEAKER 12 :
That’s absolutely right. People who know that immigration… is hard, and in many ways it should be hard. It shouldn’t be something that we take lightly, and the people who have gone through the process all the way understand the respect for that. And they tend to be people who truly value it because they’ve gone through the long, arduous process.
SPEAKER 10 :
Yeah, actually, Jeremy, I think in a lot of cases, I know some of these folks individually, they appreciate and love our country more than some of our own natural citizens do.
SPEAKER 12 :
That’s very fair because I didn’t choose to become a U.S. citizen. I was granted automatic birthright citizenship because my parents were citizens. But somebody who chooses to join another country’s national community and to go through the steps and hoops knowing that there’s a chance that they may not make the cut. And ultimately, that is what immigration policy is about. You’re setting limits. There are 8 billion people in the world. About a billion people would like to move to the United States here today, if they could, according to polling. And we can’t accept a billion people, so we’ve got to set limits, and we’ve got to find people who will respect them. And we have to have a government that also respects its own limits. we tend to lose faith in immigration itself, which is not something that we want.
SPEAKER 10 :
Yeah, it’s not sustainable. I mean, there’s no way we could add another billion people on top of the 350 million we have roughly. Not that size-wise we couldn’t do it, Jeremy, but just economically speaking and so on, there’s just no way we could handle that and be solvent when it’s all said and done. We’re having a hard time being solvent with what we’ve got going on, Jeremy, nonetheless adding that.
SPEAKER 12 :
well that’s right and you’re exactly right it’s not a question of how many people we can physically contain you could fit everybody in the state of texas but they’d all be dead in a week right but uh… but it’s about how many people we can sustain and we’ve just seen we’ve had the the largest wave of immigration in world history over the last four years and really the largest wave of in u.s history over the last thirty years and you’ve seen what’s happened When it comes to housing or roads, traffic, schools, these communities that we heard about all throughout the campaign, when you take a town of 60,000 people and you add 20,000 people to that, you just can’t sustain those kinds of numbers.
SPEAKER 10 :
Jeremy, you can’t be… You’ve seen the stories. You can’t be the city of Denver and take in what they’ve taken in and add that budget end of things to it when it’s all said and done. I mean, we have a crisis right here in our own back door with the city of Denver. We’re in Aurora, so we’re right next door as we’re talking to you right now. The reality is even a large city can’t do it.
SPEAKER 12 :
That’s right. You talk about Denver, Aurora, New York City, Chicago. These cities all said, this is bankrupting us. This is bringing us to our knees. I mean, New York City has 8 million people in it, and they couldn’t handle the influx. It’s just too much too fast. We live in a world of limits, and we have to be responsible with them.
SPEAKER 10 :
I hate to use this analogy, but it’s like drinking out of a water fountain correctly versus trying to drink out of a hydrant. I mean, the reality is water is great, it’s good, but too much of it will kill us. It’s the same situation here.
SPEAKER 12 :
That’s exactly right. And on the one hand, you’re hydrating yourself, and on the other one, you’re blowing your hat off and… And drowning yourself, basically. Yeah, exactly. You’re drowning.
SPEAKER 10 :
Yeah, exactly. So, yeah, I mean, and again, I’ve made this very well known on our program. I am not against immigration at all. In fact, I know there are certain areas where we definitely need it. Our birth rate is such right now where we really, Jeremy, we don’t have a choice, but I’m a big one on… It has to be merit-based. You’ve got to be bringing something to the table that adds value to what we have going on. Otherwise, I’m sorry, we’re going to have to keep the door closed, and you’re going to have to either go get some skills that add some value to be able to be here, or you’re just going to have to stay where you’re at indefinitely. And I know that sounds really harsh, Jeremy, but that’s just the reality of it. Question I have for you, because I don’t know this answer. How many other countries – let me rephrase this. Are we one of the few countries out there that don’t do a merit-based immigration?
SPEAKER 12 :
There are a few. Canada has something like a points system, but we really, our system is pretty unique. You have some countries that basically are nothing but merit and You have cases where they essentially have huge guest worker systems, but people who can never, ever become citizens of those countries. And we have something sort of quite the opposite. Our system has been overwhelmed by extended family chain migration loophole that was not intended in the 1965 Immigration Act. And it’s just never been corrected. It’s a broken promise that Washington has failed to fix. uh, for 60 years now. And, uh, this is the, this is the time to do it. It was the last time that we moderated our immigration numbers, uh, was a hundred years ago in 1924. It happened to kick off the biggest expansion of the middle class in U S history. It’s what made America a middle-class nation. It was one of maybe the five contributing
SPEAKER 10 :
factors yeah needs to happen again and i mean i just know in closing jeremy that if you know you or i and a lot of americans as they get older they look at other places to go and maybe immigrate to or retire to maybe the cost of living is less and so on and jeremy i can’t think of a single country that doesn’t have some sort of stipulations around what i just said in other words you don’t just show up and say okay you know i’m gonna stay until i’m dead it doesn’t work that way
SPEAKER 12 :
No. No, you know, you put the shoe on the other foot and you just imagine some country you’d like to visit and say, what if I just never left? What if I wanted to stay forever? And would that be allowable? In most cases, that’s not the case. You’re going to be said. Very politely, hopefully, but, sir, it looks like you’ve extended your stay. It’s time for you to go home now. And that’s a system that everybody can believe in at home and abroad.
SPEAKER 10 :
Yeah, I always say that even going south, it’s funny. You can come north, and we have one system, and yet you and I going south would not be allowed to stay.
SPEAKER 12 :
Of course, everybody is going to have to enforce their own borders in the interest of their own national community. That’s the responsibility of government, is to say, what’s the policy here that’s going to be most beneficial to our national community? Those are the people that we work for. Those are the people we’re responsible for. Absolutely.
SPEAKER 10 :
All right, folks listening, how do they find you, Jeremy?

SPEAKER 03 :
Now back to Rush to Reason on KLZ 560.
SPEAKER 10 :
All right, we are back. Got a few minutes left of this first hour. And again, as I said earlier, at 4 o’clock, we’ve got a special guest joining us, Brandon. I hope I’m saying this right. Weikert. I’ll make sure I get his name right once we get him on here. But he’s got some opinions and is a little bit more of an expert when it comes to drones and things along those lines. So we’ll talk to him at 4 o’clock as well. All right, this was sent to me. I believe Joe sent me this. Jersey Joe. National spelling bee. Charlie, I don’t know if you saw this or not. The national spelling bee, because I think of Charlie first when I see these sorts of things, because in our world, Charlie is the grammar spelling expert. I’m not. A lot of what I do, I get tips from Charlie or he’ll say, hey, we should probably say this instead of that. Even when I do some promos and things like that, he’ll make last minute, last second changes because that’s right up his alley. So I thought he would enjoy this as much as anyone. So the National Spelling Bee is now under fire for allowing feminist spellings for third graders. The word is woman. We all know how it’s spelled, W-O-M-E-N, woman, or M-A-N, either way, plural for women, singular for woman. Well, you can now put a Y in place, I guess, Charlie, of either the E or the A. I’m not sure which, to be honest with you. you know that’s thank you for pointing that out because if it’s more than one what would the spelling would it be an s at the end woman’s w-o-m-y-n-s i i don’t know this is insanity folks and again this is to pacify the left you’re essentially – think of this and what they’re doing, and they’re very upfront about this. They’re taking man or men out of the word woman or woman. It’s what they’re doing here. That’s why they’re allowing these third graders to now put Y in place of either of those two letters. So we’re basically – changing wording around and then allowing the spelling of to be okay and promoting it, actually. Charlie, this would be like taking any other word out there that has been spelled a particular way and has a particular meaning for years and changing it completely around. I realize it’s one letter, but it’s still, it doesn’t matter. At the end of the day, it’s a complete change of our language. That’s how I see it. or the spelling of, and it’s wrong. And those of you that are like Charlie, that are sticklers when it comes to spelling and punctuation and things like that, this has to drive you crazy. It drives me crazy, and I’m the worst speller on the planet, and it drives me crazy. Again, because it’s not – number one, we’re not teaching kids the correct spelling. And by the way, even pronunciation, Charlie, we know how the English language is a little bit messed up when it comes to pronouncing words and so on, and things can do different things at different times. So by putting the Y – where there would be an E or an A because we pronounce those two words differently, woman, woman, right? We pronounce them differently. So how are we going to teach a third grader now to pronounce it with the Y? Charlie’s shaking his head at me. I don’t know the answer. This is just total insanity. And, you know, you guys hear me all the time talk about how the left is mentally ill. This is living proof. This is living proof. We’re going to change the way a word is spelled because we’re so against one particular sex. That’s really what this is about. We’re so offended by the word man or man that we’re just going to eliminate it altogether. That’s insanity. That’s a mental illness, not being able to face what is real, what is factual. There are two sexes, and only two, by the way, male and female. So, again, I look at this as just a complete utter nonsense. It is not living in reality. It’s changing things to fit whatever you feel they need to be, not what they actually are. And this, according to what I’m reading, Charlie, the Y will be used mainly to replace the E, I guess not the A. But again, how are you going to teach a third grader the difference? Because essentially you’re trying to just take man or men out of the word altogether. So how are you going to teach a third grader? In my opinion, this even gets more messy than what it was prior. Because, again, you’re teaching even youngsters when it comes to the two different spellings, M-E-N-M-A-N. We know as adults, and once you learn, one is singular, one is plural, but a third grader doesn’t necessarily know that. So now we’re going to add a why into the midst of this and then wonder why kids don’t have any idea what’s going on later on. Instead of teaching them how to have a job later in life and have the knowledge to do so, we’re getting into this nonsense. And it is absolute, utter nonsense. And at first I thought this was like a Babylon Bee thing that Joe sent me, and then I had to read a little further, and it’s like, this is not. This is nothing to be joking about. This is serious, and it’s just ridiculous. All right, American National Insurance is next. Paul Leuenberger, my good friend who wants to help you with your insurance needs. He’s a broker.
