Hour two takes on the “meme economy” head-on. John Rush tees up a planned conversation with economist John Hartley (Hoover Institution) on “Trump baby accounts” and how the idea intersects with tax season, then pivots into a rapid-fire breakdown of viral claims circulating on social media.
Rush walks listeners through how to respond to—and refute—several popular memes tied to the Super Bowl halftime split and the backlash around people choosing alternative programming. He argues the real issue is freedom of choice and competition, not identity politics, and he gives “ready-to-use” comebacks for common talking points. He also tackles a widely
SPEAKER 18 :
This is Rush to Reason.
SPEAKER 03 :
You are going to shut your damn yapper and listen for a change because I got you pegged, sweetheart. You want to take the easy way out because you’re scared. And you’re scared because if you try and fail, there’s only you to blame. Let me break this down for you. Life is scary. Get used to it. There are no magical fixes.
SPEAKER 18 :
With your host, John Rush.
SPEAKER 12 :
My advice to you is to do what your parents did. Get a job, sir.
SPEAKER 09 :
You haven’t made everybody equal. You’ve made them the same, and there’s a big difference.
SPEAKER 14 :
Let me tell you why you’re here. You’re here because you know something. What you know you can’t explain, but you feel it. You’ve felt it your entire life, that there’s something wrong with the world. You don’t know what it is, but it’s there. It is this feeling that has brought you to me.
SPEAKER 06 :
Are you crazy? Am I? Or am I so sane that you just blew your mind?
SPEAKER 17 :
It’s Rush to Reason with your host, John Rush. Presented by Cub Creek Heating and Air Conditioning.
SPEAKER 16 :
All right, we are back. Hour number two, Rush to Reason, Denver’s Afternoon Rush, KLZ 560. Appreciate you joining us today. And we’re going to have a guest join us right now, Chief Economist and Policy Fellow John Hartley. And we’ll wait and see what happens. If he joins us, he does. If not, people get busy. I fully understand that he’s from the Hoover Institution. If not, we’ll reschedule him, try to get him back on. He’s going to talk about the Trump baby accounts. and tax season and how some of that may dovetail together. And again, if I can’t get John on today, we’ll get him back on here in the not-too-distant future. All right. Lots of memes and sayings on Facebook and other social media sites rolling around. And I’ve had a few of you send me some of these. I’ve seen some of these myself as well. And I thought, why not? Let’s debunk some of these. In fact, for some of you listening, you may want to either record this, write some of these things down. I’m going to do my best to help you with how you would debunk some of these things that are being said. Now, I’m not a big social media warrior. And part of that is because I do this for three hours a day. I’m also on air on the weekends. And I’ll just be quite frank. When I’m done with this, I’m usually studying for the next show. I’ve got other work things that I do outside of this. I coach other businesses. I’ve got my own businesses to help with and so on. So at the end of the day, I’ll just be quite honest with everybody. I’m not a keyboard warrior at all. Never happened. I’m just not somebody that’ll get on there and go through and argue with people online. Now, some of you do a great job of it. And by the way, I am extremely thankful. for each one of you that have that talent, because that’s what it is, that talent to be able to put words into paper, if you would, words onto paper or onto a screen, I should say, and be able to battle some of these things that, quite frankly, I just don’t have time to do. So thank you for all of you that do that, because I mean that sincerely. Andy, my cohort on Twitter, Tuesdays and Fridays, he’s probably watching a movie right now, but Andy, he’s a master at this. He does wonderful at that, and I appreciate what he does along those lines greatly. I mean that sincerely. He has the knack to do those things that, quite frankly, I can’t do. I’m where I need to be right here in front of the microphone. I don’t do very well with doing things on the keyboard and along those lines. That’s just not my forte. So I appreciate all of you that do that. Now, all that being said, there’s lots of things right now, especially with what’s happened with, you know, ICE up in Minneapolis and other parts of the country. And then, of course, all the bad bunny stuff and the Super Bowl and so on. Lots of things that are now floating around. And liberals love to latch on to catchphrases. I get it. We do, too. I think a lot of people do because it’s easy. It’s catchy. And by the way, I’d like to know the guy or the guys, the people who start memes. I’ve always wondered who starts these. Who’s the first person to ever write it? And then it gets traction and it goes everywhere. I don’t know who that person is or people are. Is there one? Is there many? Is it AI? I don’t know. I don’t know who starts these things. But let me start with a few of these and we’ll go through these. I’ll probably take a segment or two to go through these. Here’s the first one. People who need their own halftime show are the same people who needed their own drinking fountains. By the way, that’s just a stupid thing to say. I mean, it really is. Number one, we haven’t had different drinking fountains even since I’ve been around. Now, my mom, who has since passed, she can remember back in the day where there were actually two different drinking fountains, those for whites, those for blacks. And it was wrong, 100% wrong. And by the way, it was our side – let me make sure that everybody gets this correct. Those that are writing this, by the way, the lefties that are writing this, they must have a really short memory because it’s our side, the Republicans, that did away with all of that. They must have really short memories and not know that, but it’s our side – that actually went through the process of eliminating not only slavery, but even that, having different drinking fountains. The left doesn’t understand that, I guess. You know, the KKK was very much a Democrat tool. It was not a Republican tool, that was a Democrat tool. And I guess they must forget that. I say tool, it’s an organization, I get that, but it was their tool. It did their bidding, if you would. And whoever wrote this evidently is so ignorant of history that they don’t even know what they wrote. It was your side, those of you that are on the left, it was your side that wanted different drinking fountains, not us. And now that there’s a choice at a halftime show, we’re all of a sudden wrong, and we want our own drinking. We’re just like those folks that wanted their own drinking fountains. I mean, I can’t believe how stupid of a statement that is. Now, I understand you can’t respond and say, that’s a stupid statement, but you could respond with, it’s interesting that it was your side that wanted the different drinking fountains, not ours. In fact, it was our side that eliminated that. So your comparison is way off. So that would be my comeback to the different drinking fountains is that was you that wanted that, not us. How ironic. You’re now claiming that it’s us that want two different halftime shows, which, by the way, I’m one that says make it 10 different halftime shows. Who cares? Make it a dozen for that matter. The more, the merrier. As I said on the National Crawford Roundtable, which you guys all heard just a little bit ago, competition breeds excellence. Have three or four. The more the merrier. The more there are, the better they all get. That’s how capitalism, the free market works. When there’s no choice, then you can get what the Super Bowl’s been putting out for the last umpteen jillion years because there’s not been any other choices. Well, guess what? Now there’s going to be. And they lost about 6 million viewers during the halftime show itself. And I think everybody that actually watched the TPUSA could be as much as 18 to 20 million when it’s all said and done. Trust me, that’s a wake-up call for the NFL. Believe me, it is. Because advertisers care about those things. The NFL may not, but they do, because advertisers do. So trust me, at the end of the day, having multiple shows is a good thing. That has nothing to do with being a racist or being against anybody or even being against Bad Bunny. It’s simply you have a choice. You can tune into whatever you want and whatever your style of halftime show is. Great. You can have that delivered to you. That’s freedom, folks. That’s a good thing. That’s not a bad thing. That’s a good thing. So, again, that would be my response to people that need their own halftime show are the same people who needed their own drinking fountains. Yeah, that was your side. You’re the ones that wanted your own drinking fountains. That wasn’t us. We were the promoters of bringing people together and eliminating racism. We didn’t continue to foster it, which, by the way, your side, the left, you’re still fostering it. You’re still creating it. I don’t want to get into all the details. I did this a little bit yesterday with the SAVE Act. Just some of the comments, and I’ll get into one comment that somebody made, a particular representative made of late. I’ll get into some of that a little bit later. But the bottom line is you’re still, through not wanting the SAVE Act, in other words, not wanting ID to vote, you’re still perpetuating racism. Your side is. And yes, I mean that. You are. You may not know you are, but you are. Because basically what you’re telling people when you say that, you know, we don’t want you to be able to go get an ID to vote is you’re basically saying you’re too stupid to figure this out on your own. We’re going to do this for you. You’re marginalizing and minimizing people by saying that. Those of you that are on the left. People, by the way, that are in the trenches, that those people that you’re actually talking to, They are the ones that basically would come out and say, it’s really offensive for you to tell me that I can’t get an ID because I have one anyways. So I’ll talk more about that. I need to take a break. I’ve got a few more of these memes I want to go through so that you guys can have some ammunition against some of these individuals that put these things out because most people don’t know what they’re even posting, i.e. who needed their own drinking fountains. Golden Eagle Financial coming up next. Al Smith, he did an interview of late. Tune in to that. And when you’re done, if you want to find out, just go to klzradio.com.
SPEAKER 07 :
TJ here with KLZ Radio, and again, I’m with Al Smith of Golden Eagle Financial. And some of you may not know that Al Smith has a couple of books out. Al, tell us a little bit about the books that you have for clients and what that informs folks on.
SPEAKER 04 :
Well, the two books are 18 Halls to Retirement, which is about a younger person and an older person who work at the same company they’re playing golf. And the book talks a lot about the younger person asking the older person about all of his preparation he’s made for his retirement. My second book is The Christian Path to Retirement. It’s sort of about how God can guide us toward building our nest egg and also helping build his kingdom as we make that transition from work to retirement.
SPEAKER 07 :
That’s awesome. I love the financial connection to Christ, because that’s all about our lives. Tell us a little bit about, is that something that folks can go out to Amazon to buy, or do you give that to them?
SPEAKER 04 :
Well, it is on Amazon, and I think it’s $10 or $11 or something. It’s not a long book, but for folks who come into the office… and schedule a meeting with me, I can certainly give them that book for free. I’ll need to be ordering a few more copies for all the enormous influx I’m anticipating after this ad.
SPEAKER 07 :
There you go. We’ll tell folks how to get in touch with you for that meeting and maybe to get their free book.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah, you can reach me at 303-744-1128. And the book also has some things that go beyond financial things that can result in a more fulfilling retirement.
SPEAKER 07 :
Very good. And as always, you can find a little bit about the book at klzradio.com slash money. And on there is a form that you can schedule an appointment with Al Smith as well. And he’ll get you in shape and ready for your retirement. Al, thanks so much for joining us today.
SPEAKER 04 :
Well, you’re welcome, TJ. Thanks for having me.
SPEAKER 10 :
Putting reason into your afternoon drive. This is John Rush.
SPEAKER 16 :
Okay, by the way, to prove my point about the separate drinking fountains, which were, by the way, outlawed in the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Passage of the Act. And by the way, it was signed by Lyndon B. Johnson. The passage of the act was not easy. Opposition in the House of Representatives bottled up the bill in the House Rules Committee. In the Senate, Southern Democrat opponents attempted to talk the bill to death in a filibuster. Folks, proving my point. It was the left that wanted separate drinking fountains. That was not us. So… I can continue to prove my point on that, and I guess that one bugs me so much because it’s being used by the left right now to somehow discredit the fact that there’s two Super Bowl halftime shows, and somehow that’s wrong. And that because we’re conservatives and we want something different than what’s going on at the halftime show, we’re somehow like those individuals that wanted separate drinking fountains. I mean, some of this is just absolute lunacy, I’m sorry to say, but at the end of the day, there’s the answer to your first meme. All right, let me move on. I might have to go through these, you know, faster. I’m sorry. Some of these really bug me. Again, that’s a dumb comment. Our side is not complaining about the fact that Lamar Kendrick was black or that, in this case, Bad Bunny is Puerto Rican. Frankly, we don’t care. Our side doesn’t care about any of that stuff. That doesn’t make a hill of beans bit of difference. We don’t care. We really don’t. What we care about is in this particular case and come to find out some of the lyrics that Bad Bunny was singing. The reason why they weren’t closed captioned so everybody could read them and know what he was singing is because you probably couldn’t. Well, you couldn’t have done that according to FCC rules. I here couldn’t repeat a lot of the things that Bad Bunny nor would I repeat a lot of what Bad Bunny said on our program now. So that’s the reason why we turned to something else was because of the fact we knew some of that was going to happen. Nothing against Bad Bunny. I gave credit where credit was due this past week as I talked about it on Monday, even gave credit for the set and so on. I even rated both shows a five. So I think I’m being very fair. But I still would prefer to watch TPUSA over Bad Bunny. That’s just me. All right. Here’s another one. This one cracks me up as well. There’s a meme, and it shows a MAGA supporter standing in front of God at the pearly gates, I guess you could say. And, of course, there’s a picture of ICE agents down below taking into custody, looks like two Latina individuals, a couple probably. And God’s saying, so tell me, did you welcome the foreigner, help the poor, feed the hungry, care for the sick, you know, kind of like the things Jesus did? And then the Trump supporters, who’s got a MAGA hat on, by the way, says, well, I, uh… In other words, he doesn’t have an answer. I have an answer. The answer is, yes, God, we did. We did welcome the foreigners when they did things according to the laws of our land, which is, by the way, what you like, because you’re God and you like law and order because you established it from the get-go. Do we help feed the poor? Yeah, in fact, there’s stats out there right now that will show that the majority of folks that are taking benefits… are either black or Latino, and that’s first generation. Unfortunately, that continues into the second and third generations as well. So are we taking care of the poor? Yeah, they’re on SNAP and a lot of other programs that we as taxpayers pay for. So yes, in fact, we are. So God, yes, we’re helping the poor, which, by the way, Feed the Hungry goes along with that because SNAP program is feeding those that are hungry. Do we care for the sick? Yes, God, we have a program inside of America whereby everybody gets health care, no matter whether they have insurance or not, because it’s what hospitals do. In fact, a lot of us inside of big cities like Denver, we subsidize those hospitals to a large degree to make sure that they can take care of those individuals, including the homeless. So yes, God, we do. And my tax dollars are doing that. And in a lot of cases, some of us even donate extras to certain organizations to make sure that the sick are cared for. So yes, God, we are. And yes, we’re doing the things that Jesus told us to do in the things that I just said, so there is your answer. Just because we have a country that’s got law and order and abides by that law and order and we don’t let folks come into our country willy-nilly doesn’t mean that we aren’t caring for those that are sick, caring for those that are ill, welcoming that foreigner. No, I’ve said this over and over again. We welcome any foreigner that does it correctly. Not a problem at all. We need them. We want them. In fact, I’ve said this over and over and over again. I’ve taken criticism, by the way, from conservatives for saying this. I want the best and the brightest from around the world. I want to incentivize those people to come here. In fact, I’ll go as far as to say I want to suck those people from the other countries, which makes us better when it’s all said and done. I want those people here. And I want a merit-based immigration system. We don’t have it yet, but if I were president, that’s what I would be initiating. I don’t know why Trump doesn’t do that. I want a merit-based system. On a score of 1 to 10, you get so many points for certain things you bring to the table, and those with the highest score get in faster. That’s the system I want. I want it fast-tracked. If you have a skill set you’re bringing in, if you’re bringing in some sort of a high IQ individual, and you’re bringing certain things to the table, and you’ve got the ability to help us as a country achieve things and move forward and so on, yeah, I want you to have a higher score. On the same token, if you’re coming with a criminal record, and you’ve got problems, and you’ve committed crimes in other countries and so on, no, in fact, I don’t want you at all. I want you to stay in your country. Oh, Charlie just said to, and this is true, conservatives by far give a larger portion of their income to charity than Democrats do. That’s a proven fact. And you can actually, yeah, you can Google that and it will tell you. That’s a very well-known fact. We as conservatives always give a larger portion of our income away than those that are Democrat do. So going back to this meme about standing in front of God, talking about caring for the sick, feeding the hungry, and so on. Again, and by the way, that’s a meme that was put out by Occupy Democrats. That kind of tells you where that one came from. Then there’s a follow-up to this one, by the way, that says you cannot argue with MAGA. They demand evidence, then they call your sources biased. You provide primary sources, then they claim they’re doctored. You show them video, they say it’s out of context. You give them context and they say you’re cherry-picking. That isn’t debate. This is systematic refusal to allow reality to intrude on mythology. You’re not arguing facts, you’re arguing whether facts exist. It’s interesting that that’s what they do. The very thing that they say we do, which is always the case with the left, is the very thing they do. They won’t sit down and have a rational discussion. They won’t sit down and look at the facts. They won’t look at the Civil Rights Act of 1964 knowing that it barely passed because the Democrats didn’t want it to. They won’t acknowledge those things that I just said. By the way, killing the statement that we want separate drinking fountains. They won’t acknowledge any of that. So they do the exact thing they accuse of us. That, by the way, that comes out of the Marxist playbook, which is what the left has bought into, unfortunately, and they won’t buy into the facts. And again, I was sent this by a listener earlier today, by the way, and it coincides with what we’re talking about with some of these memes and such, and that is the amount of people that are on some sort of a welfare handout in America, and this is done by race, and it’s done by generation. So this is how this works. First – so first – how should I say this? First-generation immigrants, 70 percent of Hispanics have some sort of handout from government. By the way, it could be SNAP, cash, Medicaid, housing, you name it. Any number of things, 70% of initial immigrants from, you know, Hispanics, Hispanic immigrants are on some sort of social program. 52% are black, 38% are Asian, and 33% are white. And all of those are immigrating, by the way. Now, second generation, it drops in the same order. Hispanic, 54. Black, 48. Asian drops down to 29. They assimilate really fast. And then whites are 31%. And then third generation plus, it’s 53% Asian, 56% black, 37% Asian, and 32% white. So point being, going back against that meme where you’re standing in front of God asking, what did we do to help these individuals? I just gave you the stats, the facts. And there’s lots of people that don’t believe those facts, by the way, but that gets taken out of the census and other programs and reports that come out of government and so on, and it’s pretty easy to go find that data and back it up. So it cracks me up. You see all these liberals put all sorts of stuff out there that somehow prove that we’re racist or that we’re this or we’re that, and the reality is we’re none of those things, and we can prove that over and over again. I just got a text message in from a friend as well that said, after reading the lyrics myself, I wouldn’t repeat most of those in front of my wife. Thank you. Yeah, they’re not worth repeating. Talking about Bad Bunny. And by the way, you can go look those up yourself. You don’t have to rely on me or this friend that just sent me that. You can go look those up yourself if you’d like to determine what those lyrics actually were and what they meant. And most of you listening, those of you even on the left, wouldn’t repeat them. Yeah, some of you on the left would because you’re scoundrels, but most wouldn’t. So, again, the reason why we want choice when it comes to the halftime show is because we like having choice. This is simply a free market. This doesn’t have anything to do with being a racist or a bigot or anything along those lines. We want choice. I mean, I’ve said for years, and I mean this, There hasn’t been a decent halftime show. Snoop Dogg did the last good decent, in my opinion, and some people would argue with me on that. But Snoop Dogg did the last good show, as far as the NFL is concerned, and some people would argue with me on how good that one was. I thought it was good, but that’s me. And outside of that, I can’t think of another decent one. So, honestly, Bruno Mars was good. Thank you, Charlie. Yeah, Bruno Mars was good. But outside of a couple, I mean, you really can probably count a couple in the last, I’m not exaggerating, probably 12 to 15 years, maybe two, three at most, that were good. Does the NFL need a shakeup in that regard? And do they need some competition when it comes to halftime show? Absolutely, they do. It’s funny, NFL has competition everywhere else. They thrive on that when it comes to the football game. But yet when it comes to the halftime show, there hasn’t been any. Now there is. That’s what we want. Competition, as I always say, competition breeds excellence. Because you have to outperform the next person or you lose. Plumberoos. SPEAKER 16 :
All right, Rush to Reason, Debra’s Afternoon Rush, KLZ 560. By the way, several of you commenting on, you know, how did I find and dig up the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the fact that it was the left that really wanted those drinking fountains. Honestly, folks, because, again, my mother grew up during that time and grew up in the South and remembered those things. And I can remember her telling me about those things even as a young girl. you know, going to school and watching different things and how terrible it was and it shouldn’t have been that way. And I was reminded that, yeah, that’s because the Deep South was run by Democrats and they loved that stuff and they ate it up and they wanted all those things. They couldn’t stand the fact that the rest of the country wanted that to go away because they were deeply, deeply racist and still are, by the way. It hasn’t changed. So anytime the left tells you that you’re racist, you should tell them, go look in the mirror because you have been a racist party forever, since the beginning of all of that. We had a great civil war over that. Because your side didn’t want to give in. It’s that simple, folks. Again, how do I know this? A, I’m old. B, my mother grew up during that time. And I can remember her talking to us as kids about that. And I had lots of questions as a young boy, you know, asking about those things. Because to me, in my mind, this was me. I just couldn’t, you know, I had black friends growing up. I just couldn’t imagine why one person had to drink from one fountain when another person drank from a different one. As a young boy, even. Honestly, it makes me cry. I couldn’t wrap my head around that. It made no sense to me. Because of skin color, you couldn’t drink out of the same drinking fountain that someone else could. It just bothers me to this day. And to listen to my mom tell those stories and talk about that and view some of those things growing up, I mean, as a young boy, it still breaks my heart. It’s ridiculous that we ever did that. But it wasn’t we. When I say we, I mean the left. The left did that. We didn’t. The left did. They made that happen. And so to see, I think of all the memes I’ve talked about today, the one that bothers me the most is the one that’s so idiotic where they’re claiming that because we want a different halftime show, we’re like those people that wanted two different drinking fountains. That just shows you how ignorant they are. Literally shows their ignorance. Because they have no idea what happened in history. They didn’t listen to the stories that I listened to as a kid from my mom. They’ve never been exposed to any of that, and they have no idea what they’re talking about. And some of them need to listen to the stories that folks like my mom experienced, knowing that it’s their side that did that. And they’re the reason why that was there at that time. And here’s what’s interesting, too, real quick as a side note. Whenever I talk about these things, and I get comments and text messages from the left all the time, but when I talk about these things, it’s crickets. They never say a word. It’s crickets. And the reason for that is they have nothing to defend. They know everything I’m talking about is true. It’s defenseless. They won’t defend it. And they know that I’m exactly right. And I never hear a peep from them when I get on these particular topics. Dave, you’re next. Go ahead, sir.
SPEAKER 13 :
Yeah, no, John, you know what? Everything you’re saying is absolute historical fact. The KKK was actually a Democratic organization that was started after the Civil War by Nathan Bedford Forrest, who was a Democrat who was fighting against the freeing of the black slaves. And it had been that way forever, all the way up until, I don’t know when he died, in the last 10, 15 years. Strom Thurmond, one of the longest serving senators in the Congress, he was a member of the KKK. I think he was like a high member of Grand Dragon.
SPEAKER 16 :
He was like a Grand Marshal, or I don’t remember what they call all those guys, but something along those lines. Grand Dragon, there you go, Grand Dragon.
SPEAKER 13 :
Yeah, and you’re totally correct on the fact that they were voting against the Civil Rights Act. They didn’t want any of that to happen because, as you maintain, for Democrats, it’s all about control. And giving anyone else freedom of choice and the freedom to be human beings, Democrats didn’t want that. They want to have control. They don’t want to govern. They want to rule.
SPEAKER 16 :
That’s right. Good point. Yeah, they don’t want, Dave. You just said it very well, and I’m going to steal that from you. They don’t want self-governance. They want rule.
SPEAKER 13 :
Yes. And it’s what they’ve been about all along. And that’s why even now with, with the passing of what was the war on poverty under Lyndon Johnson, so forth, you know, and he himself said it, a Southern Texan who went, when he got it passed, he said, we’re going to have these N words voting for us for the next 200 years because we passed this welfare act. And it has the Democratic Party has destroyed many families who suddenly became dependent on government and did not move up. and they were hoping to maintain a dependent class, would always vote on them because they were dependent on the government for their services.
SPEAKER 16 :
Which, by the way, Dave, I hate to keep referring to this. I know sometimes I think I drive Bob Duco nuts on NCR, but the reality, Dave, is everything you’re describing is Marxism to its core. Replace God, divide the family, replace the family with government. I mean, at the end of the day, Dave, it becomes— you become so dependent on government because it is the fix-all. That’s Marxism in and of itself.
SPEAKER 13 :
Yeah. And everything you’re saying is historical fact. It doesn’t take a whole lot of research on the internet or anywhere else to look that up. And one of the things I recall from when I was in school back when they used to actually teach and not indoctrinate was when we were studying the civil rights era and It was actually in the textbooks, and what they referred to the Democrats from the South at that point was Dixiecrats. Because they were actually looking towards maintaining that power block, and they didn’t want to allow the blacks to have that freedom to vote as they chose. And anybody can look that up. Look up Dixiecrats and you’ll see that it is a historical fact. That’s exactly who they, not only who they were, who they still are to this day.
SPEAKER 16 :
Good point. Dave, number one, thank you for the encouragement. I appreciate that. And as I said a moment ago, too, it’s funny because I’ve got about a half a dozen or so. liberals that just constantly sort of poke at me and they do this and they do that and I don’t typically ban liberals as long as they keep things clean and I did ban one I should say this I did ban one the other day Dave I didn’t say anybody this just reminded me of this I did ban one the other day that sent me a picture of their grandfather, and on it said something about, you know, one hat said something about something, I can’t remember what it was, but the second hat said, I hate Jews, or no Jews, or something to that effect. And Dave, that’s the kind of stuff that I don’t care who you are, I don’t care how nice you think you’re being, when you send me those things, you’re now banned from the text line forever because I won’t put up with that, Dave.
SPEAKER 13 :
Yeah, and that’s another facet of it. They’re not only… Racist in that aspect towards blacks and Hispanics. But they’re anti-Semitic.
SPEAKER 08 :
That’s right. They’re anti-Jewish big time. Absolutely.
SPEAKER 13 :
With the schools and the colleges in the Upper Northeast, the Ivy League schools, it was the Democrats who were maintaining that they did not want any Jews to attend those universities. That’s right. and still to this day that they’re doing it. That’s a good point. No, no, they’re not, you know, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
SPEAKER 16 :
No, it sure doesn’t. Dave, as always, man, I appreciate it. You’ve always got a word of wisdom for us and a great listener and a contributor, and I appreciate it greatly. And, yeah, folks, I don’t typically ban too many people from the text line. In all of the years of doing the text line, and there’s thousands upon thousands of text messages I’ve received over that time, not exaggerating, by the way, when I say that. In fact, I always tell people, if there’s something you really want me to do, continue to study and look at, send me an email, because a text line just gets inundated at times, and I have a hard time even keeping track of some of the messages that come in. I’m working on a way to maybe help with that a little bit, because keep in mind, with four shows, I get text messages from all different angles and walks of life. Everything from, you know, ready radio on the preparedness side to fix it radio things around the house to the car side with drive radio. And then, of course, this show and combine all of those together. And I almost need a text line for each to try to keep things separate. But it is what it is. And I manage it OK. But I always tell people we’ve got something really major for me to look at. Send me an email, which a lot of you are very good at now. That being said, you know, I get all sorts of nasty comments from folks and people that agree or disagree and so on. And I typically don’t retaliate and say much. Occasionally it gets under my skin and I do. But typically I just let it kind of, you know, let it just roll off and I don’t really worry too much about it. Until you send racist comments or things like, you know, no Jews. Yeah, that’s it. You’re done. You’re going to send me that stuff. You’re no longer going to have access to the text line. You’re no longer going to be able to comment. And if I know who you are, you’re not calling in because I won’t put up with that kind of stuff. Which, it’s ironic that I’m the conservative, yet I’m supposed to be the racist who hates everybody, and yet I’m not doing those things. They are. They are. It’s the other side of the aisle that sends those things to me. Not our side. My side doesn’t do that. The conservatives don’t do that. You know, let’s do this. I want to give Dan plenty of time. Dan, hang tight. Let me take a quick break. We’re right up against a break anyway, so give me one second. We’ll come back, and I’ll give you plenty of time that way. So many people in the Denver area were affected by the recent power outages. For some, the best case was a loss of food in the refrigerator or freezer. Now back to Rush to Reason on KLZ 560. All right, thank you all for listening. I do appreciate it greatly. You don’t know how much it means, and I appreciate each and every one of you. Dan, you’re next. Go ahead, sir.
SPEAKER 05 :
Talking about the Civil War, my son, when he got out of high school, he wasn’t going to college, but he decided to take a course at Red Rock Community College regarding the Civil War. And when he got into that class, the instructor informed that it was about equal pay of women. Okay. Remember that? That movement of, what, 10 years ago? Yes. They were saying that women were underpaid, and then the court cases came out. It was the women’s… Wasn’t it the women’s soccer team?
SPEAKER 16 :
But anyway… Yeah, I think you’re right. Yes, I believe you’re correct.
SPEAKER 05 :
And when it came and exposed the court, it was part of the collective bargaining agreement, and they wanted more benefits than the men, because the men had… You know, they were playing on soccer teams, and they had all the benefits from their soccer teams. So they took… less, uh, benefits from the Olympic committee and took more pay. And they were trying to use that as a disparity in pay. My point being is that, um, you know, liberals say that. So he, he knew the civil war or he, I mean, he was kind of a history buff on his own. We didn’t, we didn’t encourage him, but, um, the Democrats were the ones that, again, it was, it was going back to state rights when the states were coming into the union. Um, The Republicans wanted the states to choose between free or slave. And the Democrats wanted to force the states to be slave.
SPEAKER 08 :
Right.
SPEAKER 05 :
And that’s what caused. So I remember several years ago when it was brought to the attention that the Democrats were the ones that were for slavery, they said, well, we can always change. Well, they haven’t changed. No, they haven’t. They’re still wanting control.
SPEAKER 10 :
Correct.
SPEAKER 05 :
They’re still wanting to dictate to people how they should live. they disguise it. So who was it, Dave, that was on there? He said freedom of choice, and that cracked me up because that’s what the liberal left talks about is free choice when it comes to abortion.
SPEAKER 08 :
Right.
SPEAKER 05 :
But that’s fine, and you and Andy talked about it on Tuesday. The thing is you’re forcing people who don’t agree with abortion to pay for those abortions.
SPEAKER 16 :
Right.
SPEAKER 05 :
And that’s not free choice.
SPEAKER 16 :
Right.
SPEAKER 05 :
That’s being forced to do something.
SPEAKER 16 :
And they do that with all sorts of things, Dan, as you know.
SPEAKER 05 :
Yeah. Yeah, I mean, Colorado is doing it with all these taxes that they keep putting on the ballot. I mean, what is it, that family charge or whatever that they’re charging everybody? Family leave. Yeah, family leave. So they can… The moms and dads or whatever can stay home for what, eight months or six months or I don’t know, something stupid.
SPEAKER 16 :
I should know this as an employer. It’s a long time. I always have to go look it up because it’s astronomical.
SPEAKER 05 :
Yeah, it’s stupid. And, you know, I see it every time and I want to tell people. And then this year, the Tabor amendment, the Tabor refund is a lot less. And it’s like, stop spending money. and start giving us money back that you guys don’t need to spend.
SPEAKER 08 :
Right.
SPEAKER 05 :
So, again, they’re not – they see a free choice, and what they do is they convince a lot of women that, you know, keep your laws off my body, which is okay. That’s understandable. But as Andy said, the baby is not your body. The baby is a separate body itself.
SPEAKER 08 :
Right.
SPEAKER 05 :
And I did – I don’t know. You probably didn’t have a chance to read it, but I did send you an article – from FRC regarding the empathy or compassion between liberals and conservatives. I don’t know if you read that or not.
SPEAKER 16 :
I did not, no.
SPEAKER 05 :
Okay, it’s pretty interesting on what the article said, so if you get a chance, you might want to read it, and maybe you’ll comment on it someday, but it was interesting on how liberals approach life and how conservatives approach life, and we’re more for the family and for close-knit and for country. We’re liberal mind thinking is more towards the world and humanity in general and that’s why renee good thought it was more important to go protest a you know illegal criminals than to worry about her six-year-old son because to her that was more important than then you know being home with her son so it’s a matter of choice but they don’t realize they’re making that choice and they want to force their choices
SPEAKER 16 :
Yeah, I was just going to say thank you. I think the other thing our side believes in is not only, you know, family unit and closeness and all of the different things, Dan, you’re talking about, but we’re also the type where we don’t force our views or opinions on anyone. I think that’s what’s so disgruntling about this whole halftime nonsense that the left is now getting into. It’s like, OK, we’re not forcing you to watch TPUSA. If you don’t want to watch it, don’t watch it. Now, there’s a lot of bar owners and sports bars and so on that are taking some heat because they sort of did a poll, if you would, of their patrons. And what a lot of them did was they did use the majority rule at that point. And if the majority of the bar wanted to watch TPUSA, that’s what they put on. If the majority of the bar wanted to watch, you know, Bad Bunny. then that’s what they put on. It’s interesting, though, that the majority of folks in these places that were watching the game were really wanting to watch TPUSA. So, of course, that’s what they played. Now, some of these guys are getting a lot of heat, Dan, today for doing so. And I look at it and say, OK, time out. Number one, we as conservatives believe that you’re the bar owner. guess what? You’re the owner of the business. You can put on whatever you want to. You could put on Barney if you want during the halftime program. It’s completely up to you. You’re the bar owner. And if people like it, they’ll stay. If they don’t, they’ll leave. And that’s their prerogative. And it’s your prerogative as a bar owner to do whatever you want to. That’s what we as conservatives believe, Dan. But the left would say, oh, no, no, no, no. You can’t change the channel. It has to stay on Bad Bunny no matter what. That’s not how we look at it, Dan.
SPEAKER 05 :
No, because if you don’t like, if you’re at a bar and they put on the TPU halftime show, then walk out, take a walk during halftime. Right. Come back. Or go to another place that’s playing the Bad Bunny or whatever. And they don’t understand it. That’s what makes America great. We have a choice.
SPEAKER 16 :
We have freedom of choice. Exactly.
SPEAKER 05 :
Right. We could either stay and watch the TPU halftime show. And if we don’t like it, get up and leave. You have that freedom.
SPEAKER 16 :
That’s exactly right.
SPEAKER 1 :
100%.
SPEAKER 05 :
Nope, Dan, you are… Don’t force somebody else to do it.
SPEAKER 16 :
That’s right. A thousand percent correct. Again, we talk about it all the time. It’s the old force versus freedom. We believe in freedom. They believe in force. And even these folks that are commenting and doing these memes and so on, you know, the ironic thing, Dan, is they don’t even realize that… they’re actually standing for the thing that they think they’re against. I’ll give you an example. I talked about this last week. All the protesters up in Minneapolis whereby they established these perimeters around neighborhoods, checking IDs, making sure that nobody that wasn’t supposed to be in there, i.e. ICE, wasn’t allowed in. Ironically, Dan, they set up their own border system, which they’re against.
SPEAKER 05 :
Yeah, but they don’t see it.
SPEAKER 16 :
They don’t see it that way, but that’s exactly what they did. They established around their own neighborhood a border system, just like we want in the country, with ID, by the way, to make sure that you get in. They did the exact same thing they’re protesting against.
SPEAKER 05 :
Yeah, so that article I sent you will probably explain their way.
SPEAKER 16 :
I’ll get into it. Dan, as always, man, I appreciate it. Always a great conversation.
SPEAKER 05 :
Okay, thank you.
SPEAKER 16 :
Thank you, sir. Have a great evening. And I’ll read a couple of text messages that have come in. But yeah, it’s ironic, folks, that a lot of the things… that the left will now claim we’re doing, and it’s so funny, it is the exact thing they do. They accuse us of doing the very same thing that they’re doing, and they don’t even know they’re doing it. So somehow, in a kind way, and Andy and I talked about this, I believe it was last Tuesday, not this past Tuesday, but a week ago Tuesday, we talked about how do you talk to folk in a very nice way, especially young people, about the error of their ways because some of them are so ingrained into thinking that our side is wrong when, in fact, we’re not. Their side is vastly wrong, but yet they don’t see it because literally in a lot of cases these kids, unfortunately, are brainwashed by the left. That’s what the left does. And I will say this. I’ll give credit where credit’s due. The left are masters at brainwashing. They really are. You know, they’re these, you know, quote unquote, social justice warriors. And so these young people, they think that, oh, yeah, the left is on our side and they’re all for social justice and this, that and the other. And, you know, they want everybody to be equal and this, that and, you know, all the all the nonsense that the left spews out. They start believing in this garbage and it’s total garbage. Because no, the left doesn’t believe in you at all. In fact, the left wants to take from you. They want to steal. They want to devour. It’s the evil side of the aisle. And the evil side always wants to seek and devour that that they can. It’s that simple. They want to devour it. They’re not there to add value to your life. They’re there to take value from you. And why we can’t get young people to understand that, it really is kind of mind-boggling to me because, again, they don’t want to add value to your life. They want to take it away. They claim that they are, but they aren’t. They’re always there to suck out whatever they possibly can from you, not add to you. It’s a difference in philosophy of life, like Dan just said a moment ago, how we on our side look at things versus the way they look at things. And at the end of the day, they just don’t care. I’ve said that over and over again. They don’t care about people. I can prove that over and over and over again. They don’t care about people. They claim to. They’ll do these fancy memes that make it look like they do. But at the end of the day, they don’t care about people at all. In fact, they hate people. In fact, I’ll go as far as to say because of their environmental movement, they think people are scourged to the earth. They’d be happy if we all died tomorrow. They don’t care. I may talk about that in our last hour here in a moment. Before I do that, though, we’ve got another break to take. Roof Savers of Colorado. And again, on these nice Colorado days like we’ve had today, yes, we need snow. It’s been the warmest winter I think we’ve had in like 117 years or something. And no, it’s not global warming. It’s just called a cycle. El Nino, by the way, is starting back up. And next winter, I guarantee you, will not be this winter. And we could even have some changes by the end of spring. But make sure your roof is doing what it needs to do. Extend the life of. Save money on insurance. In doing so, the RoofMax product… We’ll extend the life of your roof up to 15 years. 303-710-6916.

SPEAKER 18 :
This isn’t Rage Radio. This is Real Relatable Radio. Back to Rush to Reason.
SPEAKER 16 :
All right, before we go to the top of the hour break, I’ve got to play one thing from Representative Hillary Scholten to prove just how dumb the left is. Let me play this.
SPEAKER 01 :
Nearly 70 million married women in this country have changed their last name, but their birth certificates don’t reflect that. In Michigan’s third district alone, 160,000 women could find themselves unable to register simply because when they got married, they didn’t change both their ID and their birth certificate.
SPEAKER 16 :
Okay, this just shows you how stupid she is. You never change your birth certificate ever. Ever. There are legal documents that will say what you’ve done with your name since your birth certificate. Marriage, marriage licenses, all sorts of things, divorces, even things like that. But you don’t ever change your birth certificate. I mean, these are people that get elected. I mean, does this woman have an IQ at all? I’m guessing not. All right. Another hour coming your way. Rush to Reason, Denver’s Afternoon Rush, KLZ 560.
SPEAKER 1 :
Thank you. The Rich Guy.
