In this episode of Rush to Reason, host John Rush is joined by Richard Battle, who shares his personal experiences with devastating loss and the strength he’s found through faith. Richard opens up about the loss of his son and other personal adversities, providing listeners with a profound perspective on overcoming grief and finding purpose during difficult times. The conversation transitions into a thoughtful discussion on the importance of faith, especially when facing life’s unexpected challenges.
SPEAKER 06 :
This is Rush to Reason.
SPEAKER 15 :
You are going to shut your damn yapper and listen for a change because I got you pegged, sweetheart. You want to take the easy way out because you’re scared. And you’re scared because if you try and fail, there’s only you to blame. Let me break this down for you. Life is scary. Get used to it. There are no magical fixes.
SPEAKER 06 :
With your host, John Rush.
SPEAKER 05 :
My advice to you is to do what your parents did!
SPEAKER 15 :
Get a job, Turk! You haven’t made everybody equal. You’ve made them the same, and there’s a big difference.
SPEAKER 09 :
Let me tell you why you’re here. You’re here because you know something. What you know you can’t explain, but you feel it. You’ve felt it your entire life, that there’s something wrong with the world. You don’t know what it is, but it’s there. It is this feeling that has brought you to me.
SPEAKER 08 :
Are you crazy? Am I? Or am I so sane that you just blew your mind?
SPEAKER 13 :
It’s Rush to Reason with your host, John Rush, presented by Cub Creek Heating and Air Conditioning.
SPEAKER 11 :
And we’re back. Hour number two, Rush to Reason, Denver’s Afternoon Rush, KLZ 560. Richard Battle joining us now. Richard, welcome. How are you, sir?
SPEAKER 04 :
Well, we’re doing well except for the news of the day.
SPEAKER 11 :
Yeah, and I kind of figured we’d maybe change things up a little bit, and especially given lots of people that have been texting in today, a lot of folks saddened by what’s happened, and I understand that sadness. Although, Richard, you of all people, when it comes to losing people and the sadness that can come with it, you are probably one of the only people I know that can talk about that in a way because of what’s happened in your life.
SPEAKER 04 :
Well, and you’re referring to the loss of my son, and you’re correct. And I wouldn’t wish that on anyone, although one of the lessons learned was it can always be worse. And I met people, a guy that I served in the State Guard with who lost three children in one night in a house fire. So things could be worse than they are at the moment, but it’s not pleasant when we have to go through loss and sudden and unexpected loss, especially.
SPEAKER 11 :
One thing I tried to remind folks of in the last hour, and I don’t know if you were listening or not, Richard, is that, you know, the Lord is still on the throne. He’s still in control. He can take something that is bad, which this is, and turn it into good, and you of all people know what I’m talking about.
SPEAKER 04 :
Well, exactly, and I got to hear some of it. And thankfully, if you’re a person of faith, we know how things end. We know it’s not going to be pleasant all the time to get there. But having that faith of a life beyond this one and a purpose that’s here that prepares us for purpose there to me makes it tolerable. I’ll say that. And a friend of mine that helped me get through the loss of my son who had lost a son said he would have a lot of questions for God when he got there, but he’d probably be so overjoyed he wouldn’t care about asking at that time. And I think that has some truth as well. I agree.
SPEAKER 11 :
And again, Richard, you just said it very well, and I think that a lot of folks today, I had a text message questioning my faith on days like today, and I get that, Richard. I understand where some of those feelings can come from, although I caution people to don’t feel that way. Our faith is powerful. It’s what gets us through a lot of things, days like today especially. I’ve always said, and I guess because of growing up with faith literally my whole life, that Richard. I don’t know how people that don’t have it get by when things like this happen. We have a greater joy. We have the ability to look beyond a tragedy like today and look to the future, like you just said, and that’s what makes it different for us.
SPEAKER 04 :
Well, yes, and when it’s personal, the typical question is, why me? Whereas today, if it’s not personal, we ask why. Why did this happen? Why do bad things happen to good people? And we don’t know that. And that’s the question I believe personally that traps us in the past if we don’t overcome that. And I don’t believe God is there in the past. I believe he’s in the present and the future. And so I believe that the right question for us to ask whether it’s personal or with this loss, is what now? What are we supposed to learn from this that can help us with our lives, our family’s lives, and those that we influence going forward? And I believe God is there waiting for us to help us get those lessons so that we can be better people tomorrow than we are today, and that we can influence people better tomorrow than we can today as well. And that’s what gives us that hope for the future, that we can learn from this and be better and help people and help us be prepared for the next things we experience.
SPEAKER 11 :
That’s exactly right. Along those same lines, I want to go ahead and put an interjection in here because, Richard, you’ve got books right along the line of the things that we were talking about where folks need some comfort and they want to read and learn from some folks like yourself that have been through these things. You have some of those resources, do you not?
SPEAKER 04 :
Well, yes, and as I tell people, I’d rather be ignorant and not have this, and I’ll mention them, but I don’t do it in a way to solicit. Oh, no, no, no.
SPEAKER 11 :
I’m just trying to provide this for folks that want a little comfort. You have that ability to do so.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah, the two best direct ones were Surviving Grief by God’s Grace, which was the book I wrote after the loss of my son and the lessons that that I learned that helped me survive that and move on and re-find that purpose. And then unwelcome opportunities where I went through a divorce, two heart procedures, and a cancer diagnosis, one 10-month period. And it shares the path and the scriptures that helped me get through that. Both of those books are full of scripture to kind of help get through those tough times. And they were helpful to me, heal. And the only reason we wrote those were try to help others in places where they needed healing as well.
SPEAKER 11 :
Now, one other thing, and I did talk about this right before the top of the hour that I want to remind folks of, and that is knowing Charlie Kirk and his organization and Turning Point and all of that, and this comes back to even you and I talking about competence and leadership and all those different things that you and I get into on almost a weekly basis. This is one thing I can almost – hang my hat on, Richard, and that is it’s a great organization. Charlie led a great organization. I believe Charlie’s a great leader and has left behind a great legacy, and I don’t see anything but positive things coming out of Turning Point moving forward.
SPEAKER 04 :
Well, yes, and even if they didn’t have it in concrete, I guarantee you they were preparing for it, And it’s very similar to being in a combat situation, which I’ve not been in, but you have to have next man up mentality or next person up mentality. And I believe every organization should be like that. Every family should be like that. What happens if? And be prepared because we never know, any of us, whether we’ll be here the next breath or not. And we have a purpose here today. And when we’ve exercised that purpose for God’s plan, then he’s going to take us and then give us purpose in the next life and eternity.
SPEAKER 11 :
And I will say this. I am going to go ahead and interject here. For those of you that really are saddened by today and you feel like, hey, what can I do? I can tell you one thing you can do because they’ll need it right now, if not now, now more than ever, I guess is what I wanted to say. Go to TPUSA. So that’s Turning Point USA, but go to TPUSA. There’s a donate button there. And I will tell you right now that… not only for Charlie’s legacy, but his family, those that he leaves behind, that organization. If you want to really see it proceed and move forward, go give them a donation.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yes, absolutely. And at a time like this, it can be confusing. What do I do? There are so many possibilities, and that’s one thing. I encourage everybody, when you have a situation like this, focus on one thing you can do and do that. And it may be donate. It may be helping counsel your family or people at work and sharing your faith and hope in the future. Whatever it is, we’ve got opportunities to testify to our faith and show people that having that faith differentiates us from people who do not have faith.
SPEAKER 11 :
Exactly. And I mean that sincerely, folks. If you really want to help out, donate, there will be, again, there will be lots of things happening inside of that organization. And believe me, it is not a single organization. Yes, Charlie Kirk was the face of it, but believe me, there’s a lot of folks behind the scenes. As you know, Richard, you can’t run organizations like that alone.
SPEAKER 04 :
No, not at all. And if you want it to last over time and if you want it to grow wide and tall and have the most impact, you have to have more people. You have to delegate authority and have that opportunity to grow. And I believe that this can be an opportunity for them to grow as we’ve seen other countries. organizations as well. Look at the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association that’s grown after he’s gone and still providing people those comforting words of faith that help us through these tough times.
SPEAKER 11 :
And as I go through their website and literally look at not only their board of directors’ Richard, but you look through their advisory council and so on, and then you look at the staff. Trust me, folks, there are a lot of people there. I guarantee you there will be some folks that, you know, pick up the torch and move things forward. Who exactly will that be? What combination of individuals? I don’t know, but I guarantee you there will be other people that pick things up, and Turning Point USA is by no means dead.
SPEAKER 04 :
Well, and that’s the important thing because we cannot allow something good like that to fall with an individual. We have to build it up to where it’s bigger than any individual and can last over generations.
SPEAKER 11 :
Exactly. So, again, for those of you that have listened, that have even messaged me throughout the day today, and just how saddened you are by these events, which I am as well, I can tell you right now, if there’s something you really want to do to help that organization out, and you know what, it could be as little as $5. If about 100,000 people or so, Richard, donated just $5, that’s a huge difference. So the best thing to do is go out there, donate, and help Turning Point USA in doing so.
SPEAKER 04 :
Well, and that would be the best thing that could happen because then they could say we had hundreds of thousands of people donate. That’s right. And that would show a strength and overcoming of this adversity. That’s right. Which would scare the opposition because they’re hoping that this would crush that organization and it would go away.
SPEAKER 11 :
You know what? That is solid. You are 100% correct, Richard. That’s exactly what the other side is thinking, and the best way to combat that is to do what you just said.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yes, standing up and overcoming is the best response to any kind of an adversity like that.
SPEAKER 11 :
Absolutely. Richard, one more time, how do folks get a hold of you?
SPEAKER 04 :
Well, we appreciate that. Our website’s richardbattle.com. We’d be happy to interact with any of the audience. All the books are there. If you go on Amazon, all 12 of them are there, including Kindle and audio on most of them.
SPEAKER 11 :
Awesome. Richard, as always, I appreciate you, sir, and thanks for changing things up for us today. I mean that. Thank you.
SPEAKER 04 :
Well, it’s my pleasure. God bless America and Turning Point USA and the Kirk family.
SPEAKER 11 :
And God bless you, Richard. Thank you so much again. Thank you. And Golden Eagle Financial, they did an interview, I should say Al did an interview here of late, and if there’s anything you need when it comes to your financial world, the advice of give Al a call today. Find him at klzradio.com.
SPEAKER 03 :
TJ here with KLZ and Al Smith of Golden Eagle Financial. And Al, I have a question for you. I’ve been putting money away for a while in a savings account or maybe a couple of investment accounts, but what am I doing wrong and what can you do better than that?
SPEAKER 08 :
Well, I think a savings account is important because all the financial gurus, including myself, agree you should have three to six months savings that you have ready liquid access to. But retirement planning is a bit more long-term and And it’s a bit more strategic. We want to take a look at the sum of money you’ll need way into the future. And we want to look at how that money can last by providing you income for as long as you live.
SPEAKER 03 :
What kind of planning or strategy do you provide for folks with that that have a big savings but haven’t made that next step?
SPEAKER 08 :
Well, that’s a good question. If someone has a large amount in savings, one of the things I do is we have a conversation about their risk tolerance. Nobody’s comfortable losing money, but having money in the market over a long period of time is a mechanism to accumulate wealth. And so we talk about the different levels of risk and the different products that are available. And we don’t put everybody into one box, but I have an enormous assortment of financial products. And it’s not that there’s good ones or bad ones. It’s there are some that are more appropriate for some people, but not for others.
SPEAKER 03 :
And that sounds excellent. How can folks get in touch with you for that meeting?
SPEAKER 08 :
You can reach me at 303-744-1128. And if I’m not there, it goes to voicemail, but I return my voicemails promptly. And we could have a conversation in the office. If you live a considerable distance away, we can have a long phone conversation or a Zoom call, whichever you would prefer.
SPEAKER 03 :
And as always, you can find him at klzradio.com slash money. Al, thanks so much for joining us today.
SPEAKER 08 :
Well, thank you, TJ. Thanks for the conversation.
SPEAKER 03 :
You bet.
SPEAKER 06 :
Putting reason into your afternoon drive. This is John Rush.
SPEAKER 11 :
All right, several of you even sending in pictures of rainbows and things like that that are happening out in different parts of our listening audience. Thank you, by the way, for doing so. And jumping over really quick to the shooting that happened at Evergreen High School, and as a couple of you have already said that called in and a couple of text messages along these lines, there’s not much information on the shooter, which is strange. They think that it was a student. and I’ve read several different articles along these lines, there’s no confirmation exactly who that particular shooter was, but it looks like it very easily could have been a student. Which one? What did they look like? What are the motives? None of that has come out at this point. At this point, from what I’ve read, no deaths. That’s the good news. There’s some folks, I think, that are in a critical condition, and I think it’s up to four individuals now that have been taken to the hospital. but there’s a lot of unknowns in that particular story, which, by the way, is a little strange. I’ll just say it straight up. I mean, you think you’ve got the shooter and you think it’s a student. That’s a lot of thought you don’t know for sure. No offense, how hard is this? Not blaming anybody, but how hard is this? Unless, as a couple of you that have called in have said, they want this story to just go away quickly because it doesn’t fit the narrative. I guess we’ll see how this plays out over the next day or two. My gut feeling is knowing that they already have the shooter because it’s one of those individuals that has been shot and no one even knows how that person was shot. That’s what’s so strange also. Did they shoot themselves? I say they because I don’t know if it’s a he or a she. No idea. Could be a shim. I don’t know. And I’m not making fun there, folks. It could be. I don’t know. It could be somebody that’s transitioning. I have no idea. No clue. And I’m not saying that because I know. I don’t know. What’s weird is they’re not saying. That’s what’s so strange about this. Typically, things leak out. And by now, you know, this happened at about 1130 this morning. By now, you normally would have some reports back, especially if this individual is in the hospital. You’d have some report back, some reports back. Stuff leaks out. People have loose lips. It’s one of the things Charlie and I talk about all the time when it comes to some of these conspiracies about certain things. It’s like, yeah, people talk. You know, if such and such was true, we’d know because people talk. Nothing stays a secret. There are no such things. We all know that. I mean, even things that are super, super, super classified, you know, they may be kept secret for a while, but eventually even they get leaked out, as we’ve seen happen over and over again. So, but just back to this whole evergreen story, folks, I’m glad no one died. I don’t know exactly what happened. I don’t think anybody’s even put all those pieces together. My gut feeling is you’re not going to hear a lot about this one, I’m sorry to say. And those of you that are up in that area that are listening that may have even been affected by this, I’m sorry to say, but you’re not going to hear a lot more about this story. I just don’t think you will. I’m guessing because it doesn’t fit what they want it to. And this turning point, USA Charlie Kirk being murdered, that story will be around for a little while, although they’ll try to bury that one as quickly as possible, especially once they find the shooter and it turns out to be some lefty loony, which it will be. I already know that. That one I could bet. Now, there are some out there saying, well, this could be an inside deal. This could be done by the government, this, that, and the other. I doubt it. No, folks, I don’t see that. It’s deep state. They’re the ones that want to get rid of Charlie. Trump’s already elected. Why would you want to get rid of Charlie Kirk at this point? If you were going to get rid of Charlie Kirk, it would have been prior to the election when he was rounding up votes for Trump. Why would you care about it at this point? Again, that one, I’m sorry, that one doesn’t fly with me. It doesn’t make any sense. Why would you, even deep state-wise, why would you want to get rid of Charlie Kirk? Knowing that, as I’ve said throughout the last hour and a half or so, this event will do nothing but help turning point USA’s surge. I just looked through their entire website. It’s not a small organization. There’s lots of people that are not only board of directors, but are actually staff and are advisors and so on. That organization isn’t going anywhere. If anything, it will grow. Somebody will fill the vacuum of Charlie no longer being there. Yes, he’s been the lead. He’s been the founder. He’s been the spokesperson. But let me tell you what. Others will come along. and take his place, maybe not in the same manner and maybe not one individual. It might be a team of individuals. But trust me, it will continue on. And it needs to, not only for Charlie, but for the rest of our movement. as I said in the last hour, very instrumental in gathering a lot of votes in that arena, in that demographic of individuals for Donald Trump in the last election. So it’s not going anywhere. And as we talked about with Richard Battle a few minutes ago, the best thing any of us can do to help Turning Point USA, give them a few bucks. If you can give them $10, $20, $50, $100, $1,000, whatever you can do, this is not an advertisement for them. I’m just saying if you want to help them and that organization in light of what happened today, as Richard said, let’s turn this opposite of what it would normally be and let’s show the left how strong that organization is and our support for them. That’s how we make a difference at the end of the day. So for a lot of you that are really saddened over today’s events, which I am as well, one of the best things you can do is really go to Turning Point USA and donate, tpusa.com. And getting messages in right now, even on X, I’ve got folks sending me different things. The subject for the horrific shooting today that took the life of Charlie Kirk is now in custody. Thank you to the local and state authorities in Utah for the partnership with the FBI. We’ll provide updates when available. That’s coming out from FBI Director Kash Patel. That was an ex-post that he just put out a few minutes ago. Actually, 4-21, five minutes ago that went out. So I don’t know what this person looks like. I don’t know who he is. We don’t know any of that. I’m sure in this case we will. This one I’m pretty confident of. We will. This won’t get buried. Trust me. We’ll find out who this particular person is. It’s just a matter of time. Trust me, they will let us know. So that one I’m pretty confident. The evergreen one, that one I’m not sure about, folks. Just being straight up honest. I have no idea how that one’s going to go. So keep sending me things, by the way. Thank you for all the text messages. Feel free to keep doing that even after the show is over. You can sure text me later on tonight if you would like. That’s not a problem either. Our text line, just in case you don’t have it, 307- We should be getting a call here from Sonny Kutcher here in just a few minutes. Let’s do this. SPEAKER 06 :
Now back to Rush to Reason on KLZ 560.
SPEAKER 11 :
And we are back, Rush to Reason, Denver’s Afternoon Rush, KLZ 560. Sunny Kutcher joining us now, Young Americans Against Socialism. Sunny, welcome.
SPEAKER 12 :
Thank you. Thanks for having me, as always.
SPEAKER 11 :
Well, I appreciate it. And today’s a different day, of course. And I had lots of other things that I had planned for the day. And when things like this happen, you shift gears and talk about the things that are going on. And as I stated, and really all the way up to you even coming on, is that, you know, Charlie was a great man, left a great legacy. Turning Point USA will not be gone. It will not be dead. It will continue on. That I am very, very confident in. but it still doesn’t take away from the tragedy of what happened today.
SPEAKER 12 :
Yeah, I think we’re all just heartbroken and devastated. I am honestly still in shock. It is so brutal and just horrific to have all those people witness this take place and just the sheer level of evil and apathy to humanity that somebody has to have to be able to carry out something as evil as this. It’s just, it is truly mind-boggling.
SPEAKER 11 :
Well, and that’s, you know, you were reiterating what I talked about during the first hour, which is when you look at both sides of the aisle, and I’m really trying to change my language because I call the left the left, but really it’s the Marxist left. I need to quit calling them liberals and left because they’re Marxist, because that’s what they are. When you’re on that side of the aisle, Sonny… That’s what you believe in. That’s what you’ve supported. That’s what that side is all about. Whether you feel like you’re a Marxist or not, you’re supporting the Marxist movement by being on that side. So it’s like a person, Sonny, that says, well, you know, I’m not a Christian, but I go to church and I tithe. So are you or aren’t you? I mean, maybe you’re not fully vested, but you’re there. You’re given your money. You’re in support of what’s happening. At that point, anybody else looking at you would say, well, looks to me like you’re a Christian. You go to church and you tithe. So you must be. It’s no different for the left that are on that side. They may not see themselves as Marxist, Sonny, but they are.
SPEAKER 12 :
Yeah, absolutely. I mean, that’s a really interesting analogy that you presented, but I think now more than ever is when you will see people kind of come out from the stupor and say, what is going on? And, like, the reaction from the left when these things happen continues to, like, the bar just gets lower and lower because they have absolutely no morality. And that is exactly what you said, that they are Marxists at their core. And whether you understand that and what that actually means and even know whether you agree with that or not, because most people, like you said, are just completely unaware of what the ideology truly is. And, like, A lot of people talk about this idea that when you believe in God, that is your North Star, that is your moral compass. And a lot of these Marxists, they are atheists. A lot of their ideology is built on atheism. And so when you don’t have God and you replace it with an atheist ideology, that is what’s going to be driving you. And so being a good person, being moral— that has no influence on the decisions that are made and the actions that are taken and the words that are spewed from somebody who has that ideology of a Marxist. And so that’s what we’re fighting.
SPEAKER 11 :
That’s right. No, it’s good versus evil. I know you and I talk about that a lot. and you know i want to be educational here as much as i possibly can and i explained this during the first hour but i’ll explain it especially since you’re here i’ve got some good friends that my wife and i have met over the last couple of years and they’re retired school teachers from the the california southern california school districts and i don’t know exactly which school district but and hardcore conservative just like you and i believe in all we share things back and forth all the time i mean they’re as solid sunny as you and i are on things and yet still retired public school teachers now what She, the wife, told me here, I don’t know, probably a month or so ago, and I just heard it here recently, is she listens to my program occasionally. She said, you know, I listen to you, and you’re right. This whole propaganda machine and what the left and the Marxists were doing has been in the school system for quite some time. In fact, even though we were hardcore conservatives— And at the time, we didn’t recognize the propaganda that was coming through that we were now teaching. Now that we’re gone and we’re away from it and we can look back on it, we now see all of the propaganda that was being pushed through. We couldn’t see it then, but we can sure see it now. And everything, John, you’re saying is exactly right. That has been being pushed through the school system for some 50, 60 years now.
SPEAKER 12 :
Absolutely. Absolutely. absolutely and that and now you know for such a time as this this is this is the time that you know charlie was called into sorry it makes me so no you’re fine you’re fine because you’re not the only one that’s cried on air today sonny trust me we’ve had you’re the first woman that has all the men have already so you’re fine i mean i ask that question a lot you know what what how has it, you know, we’ve gotten to this point where the propaganda is so thick that you can see it, you know, from a, from a mile away, but that, that is the gradual, uh, that’s what’s gradually happened is that they started it so early. And I just often think about, you know, why we are called to this time, why Charlie was called to this time because, um, and the answer just is that this is God’s story and God is in control. And, um, People need to wake up. You know, we forget that we just we live in this almost a bubble. You’ve got the technology. We can’t live without our phones. We’re glued to the news. We’re glued to everything that’s going on. And we don’t realize that, you know, there are greater influences at work. And we just we have to hold strong to what God is doing and that he will continue to do that through us. what Charlie has built, what he built in his life. It’s just, I mean, the boldness and bravery of someone who is willing to look evil directly in the eye and continue to stand boldly on the truth of our God and And specifically for me, too, just on a personal note, he talked about Israel, he talked about Messianic Judaism, he talked about Jesus. And for me, that really ties so many things together. And so it’s just, you know, he just stood for so much and resonated with so many people, changed so many hearts and minds.
SPEAKER 11 :
No, in fact, there was a Daily Wire post that just came out, and in fact, I think I can read this whole thing. It says, Ben Shapiro said in a post, And you know what? That All of that right there. And for all of you listening, as I said earlier, trust me, Turning Point USA is not done. It will continue on. Those 800 chapters, I believe, frankly, Sonny, might even grow. And as I said during the last hour and a half or so, I don’t know why things happen, Sonny. I can’t answer that. I am not God. I do not have those answers, but I do know this. God can turn tragedy into glory and make something good happen out of something bad. And that, frankly, Sonny, is what Marxism and Marxists don’t understand. And hate, by the way.
SPEAKER 12 :
Amen to all of that. Amen. It’s so true. It’s so true, and that is the question that most people who don’t believe in God really ask, which is, why do bad things happen? And I believe that Again, I don’t have the answers either, but I just believe that we needed that in order to understand good. God needed to show what humanity can actually do in making that choice to love and honor our God despite the brokenness of the world. And I just cannot be more thankful that God came down in human flesh so that we could have Jesus to relate to, that he could be with us, that we could understand him at that level and vice versa. And to feel that love is something that cannot be ever taken away. And I just, I am just praying so much for his soul, for his family, for just everyone involved, everyone who feels this today. It’s just such a dark place. dark day and devastating, but I absolutely could not agree more that glory comes from this, and glory be to God that He will turn it into a beautiful garden.
SPEAKER 11 :
Well, and one way to do that for all of you listening, and I’ll put a plug in for you, Sonny, and Young Americans Against Socialism, a lot of what’s going on, and I’ve said this, I’ll keep saying it, I’ve been saying this for the past 11 years that I’ve been on air, live here in the evenings, and it is a fight, good versus evil. We have to educate, especially our young people, on what socialism and Marxism really is, how it happens. Everything that you’ve said so far today, you guys have a complete set of curriculum By the way, not just for young people, even older people can learn from it, by the way. It can really be used for any age group, but it’s specifically designed to touch the hearts and minds of young people so they really can understand the propaganda movement going on in the public school system.
SPEAKER 12 :
Absolutely. I believe that if you want your children to be constantly armed with the Spirit of God and the Spirit of Truth, in the war that we’re fighting, whether we want it or not, whether we agree with it or not, whether we want to be involved or not, we have a duty and responsibility to at least help our children understand the truth and be able to speak on that, and that is why we’ve created resources that are all on our website, which is yaas.org, yaas.org, and there you can find the curriculum that John just mentioned, and plenty of other resources, articles, news clippings, and the like to share with your children, to work on with your children, to go through the course. This is just at your own pace. This is just truly just filled with knowledge that you can share with your children and your family. And that’s what we aim to do because the fight, this is the fight. This is our lives as a fight. God, you know, is good versus evil. And whether we’re here or we’re gone in our previous lifetimes and the next, This is the story that we must tell our children and what truth really is all about.
SPEAKER 11 :
I want to put another plug in for you guys and what you’re doing because this is a little bit off topic, but it does fit together. Trust me when I say this. We have had this shortage of folks in the trades, you know, kids that have not gone that direction for lots of reasons. And I, as somebody that have grown up and still live in the trades, understand that probably more than anyone. Everybody bear with me on where I’m going with this. Mm-hmm. Because of the propaganda in the public school system and the fact that we have taken away all critical thinking skills, because really, Sonny, that’s what you’re talking about in your curriculum is, okay, let’s let you look at and learn a whole different perspective of what you’ve been taught all the way up till now in school. Let’s teach you to think for yourselves, which, by the way, Marxists hate. They don’t want you thinking for yourself. They don’t want critical thinking skills. They want you to be literally brainwashed into believing what they tell you. And you’re going to think like this no matter what. You have no other options. This is the way it works. Your curriculum teaches kids and older people, by the way. how to think, how to look at things from a different perspective. My point is, if we brought critical thinking skills back into education, our trades would survive, Sonny, because that’s what they’re built on.
SPEAKER 12 :
Absolutely. That is such a fantastic way to put it. They want you to read the left. You know, Marxism demands that you regurgitate information, whereas, like you said, being a free thinker is you are approaching the material from a point of critical thinking, not already having an opinion or being told that you have an opinion about a certain topic or, you know, idea. And that is, that is truly the difference. And I, I do believe that that’s how, you know, that’s been the decline of, like you said, the trade industry and kind of like the job force, the society that we’re living in, we’re so fragmented and fractured, uh, people. It’s like you said, if they have critical thinking skills, they can, you know, actually just make decisions for, for themselves. And, um, And I believe, as well, those trades were built on that.
SPEAKER 11 :
Yes, no, and my point is, for those of you listening, where you’re trying to get your young people to be more critically, be a critical thinker, think for themselves and so on, go to the material. Go grab it at Young Americans Against Socialism, YAS.org. Go there, download it, use it. That’s what it’s there for. And at the end of the day, Sonny, they’ll teach their kids how to be more open-minded and how to think for themselves.
SPEAKER 12 :
Absolutely. It’s the most important thing that we can do because also you are, like I said, strengthening your child to be able to debate with these people who don’t have thoughts for themselves, who are only regurgitating information. And, like, they’re plugged into the matrix.
SPEAKER 11 :
That’s really how I think about it. And he did a great job. And again, that work will continue just like what the work is that you guys are doing at Young Americans Against Socialism. We need a plethora of you guys out there doing this. You’re a part of that puzzle. So is Turning Point USA, among others.
SPEAKER 12 :
Thank you. Thank you for saying that. And, you know, I just heard Jesse Waters say on air that they took a shot at Charlie Kirk for just literally speaking his opinion. And what he has to say they don’t like. And because they can’t beat the truth in a debate, they have to eliminate the threat. That is what, uh, arranged evil people do. This is a criminal mafia that we’re talking about. And they shot him so that others would know, do not speak your mind because if you do, you become a target. And, unfortunately that is the way of the world no matter what you’re talking about and so what i say to young people and what i really think the message needs to be is that this must strengthen us because if we are all speaking the truth they you know they they they you have to deal with that somehow evil has to deal with that somehow and unfortunately that’s just there’s you know a common react or equal reaction to every action. And so we cannot tower and be afraid in the face of evil. Faith and fear cannot exist at the same time. So we must have faith. We must speak louder because that’s what Charlie believed in and what he would want us to do.
SPEAKER 11 :
That’s right.
SPEAKER 12 :
This is what his organization was built on.
SPEAKER 11 :
That’s exactly right. No, I said that earlier, Sonny. He would, yes, you know, we need to mourn and do it. We need to do each one of us. But Charlie would tell you the same thing. Life continues on. Turning Point USA is going to continue on. The work must continue on. We can’t stop just because of what happened.
SPEAKER 12 :
It’s… truly just devastating and um yes i completely agree you know we just we have to fight in his honor i i just can’t believe this is real truly i’m like i can’t believe we’re having this conversation we’ve just gotten so far to the point of um you know the fact that if conservative opinions do not have top security and security checks that that’s the world we live in it’s just yeah
SPEAKER 11 :
Well, to add one more thing to all of this, and I just read this, somebody sent me this as well, that if we weren’t all mad enough about what happened today, this shows you the character of those that are on that Marxist left, they wanted to have a moment of prayer for Charlie Kirk today, and all the Democrats did in the House was shout no.
SPEAKER 12 :
Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER 11 :
So that pretty much sums it up, Sonny. I don’t know what else to say other than we know who we’re dealing with.
SPEAKER 12 :
Absolutely. Like we said, they have no morality. There’s just, there’s zero humanity. And that’s, that’s really what like sickens my heart is when I see people, you know, out these protests, like the people who just protested Trump in that restaurant last night, which is like just everything. I mean, like people have lost zero respect for, for, for debate, for just healthy conversation, for, for having a different opinion. It’s just absolutely baffling. And yet to be able to stoop that low as those, Democratic leaders did to just have zero respect for any human loss, unless it’s, of course, you know, someone that they deem is worthy of their sadness.
SPEAKER 11 :
Great point.
SPEAKER 12 :
Their fake pseudo sadness.
SPEAKER 11 :
Great point. Great point. Sonny, as always, I appreciate it. Give your website one more time.
SPEAKER 12 :
Absolutely. Our website is yaas.org. You can find us on social media at yaas underscore America. So that’s yaas underscore America. And yes, we’re just praying for everyone involved and everybody listening. We’re all in this together and that power of prayer and just visualizing all of your brothers and sisters in Christ. I really do think it makes a difference. God is with us. God is with his family. God is everywhere at every moment. And we have to just feel that today stronger than any other day and strong. And we really have to pray for President Trump because we know that the Marxists will not stop. So we have to fight.
SPEAKER 11 :
That’s right. Sonny, as always, I appreciate you greatly. And, yep, I feel the same way you do. We’ll keep up the fight, though. This is not the end. We’re going to continue on no matter what. So thank you for all that you do as well.
SPEAKER 12 :
Thank you.
SPEAKER 11 :
You betcha, Sonny. Appreciate you very much. Thank you very much. Let’s do this. Mile High Coin is next. All right, Michael Bailey, he is our mobile estate planner. Don’t forget, he’s got his own program on Wednesdays from 2.30 to 3, but he’ll come to you. That’s why he’s the mobile estate planner. Find him at klzradio.com.
SPEAKER 07 :
Michael Bailey, the mobile estate planner, has the key to wisely protecting your college-aged kids. Think about it. If your kiddo goes off to college and gets hurt, the hospital won’t let you make decisions for them because at age 18 and above, they are technically an adult. What if they’re unconscious? Will a doctor let you make health care decisions for an adult and stay informed about their medical condition? No. Before they’re 18, it’s a given. You can make those decisions. But after 18, there is typically no spouse or someone already approved to legally make those crucial decisions. Michael Bailey can help make short work of a general medical or financial power of attorney for your college goer in one easy appointment. He’s got the experience and knowledge to ensure that whatever happens, you can still be a dedicated parent to your kids. Find him on the klzradio.com advertisers page today. and protect your kids by getting your power of attorney appointment set up today.

SPEAKER 11 :
And we are back. Rush to Reason, Debra’s Afternoon Rush, KLZ 560 on a very somber day. A lot of you still texting in, and there’s been some news updates on Charlie Kirk and the assassination of, that it was a shooter from a rooftop, which… I would not debate because after looking at some of the close-in video, which, frankly, I only need to see one time. I don’t need to see it again because once was enough. When you look at how he was shot, that would not surprise me. I’m not an expert in trajectory and all of that, although I do know enough about guns and so on and how things work when things are shot that that one would not surprise me. Now— How far away? How true is all of that? You know, there’s some pictures even floating around right now of somebody on the rooftop. That I’m not positive of, and we’ll hear more about that, I’m sure, as the days progress. But that would not surprise me. Somebody also texted and said, if in fact it was from the roof, why? why don’t these security folk and the people that are there, police departments and so on, just like with Donald Trump, why don’t they check the rooftops? Folks, I don’t have that answer. You would think that would be sort of standard procedure. I don’t know. You’d think you’d even have people stationed around looking at rooftops to see what’s going on. I don’t have an answer for that. You also would have to wonder, and I’m not in charge of, I wasn’t in charge of, nor am I in charge of anybody’s security and so on, but somebody like Charlie Kirk is outspoken as he is and so on, and knowing how radical the Marxists are, why wouldn’t you put up some bulletproof shielding in front of the stage? In fact, I don’t know why they don’t do that for a lot of speakers in today’s world. Maybe some of that will start to come up. I don’t know how expensive that is. I mean, anything would have helped even slow down the trajectory of the bullet even plexiglass would would be a help from that distance again I don’t have those answers folks I don’t know why those things don’t get done again I’m not in charge of security at these places so I really I don’t know I don’t have answers to that and and maybe those are some things that will come out of these sorts of things were more volatile type speakers will have more protection along those lines On the same token, it shouldn’t have to be done. We’re supposed to live in a country where you can speak your mind freely and not have fear of somebody taking your life over it. But this is what the Marxist left does. If they don’t like what you’re saying, you should be eliminated. In a lot of ways, it’s like Islam. If they don’t like you and they don’t like what you’re saying, death to you. Pretty similar. Sorry, but it’s very similar, folks. Islam, Marxism, the left, evil, how it all works. And yes, Islam is evil as well. I’ll say that. I’ll go open on record saying that. Yes, it’s as evil as it gets. It’s not even a cult. It’s a political ideology. It’s not a religion either. It’s not even a faith system. Sorry, it’s not. It’s a political ideology that believes if you don’t believe in them the way that you need to, then death to you. You’re an infidel. Well, Marxism and the left look at it the same way. If they don’t like you and they don’t like what you’re saying, death to you as well. So in my book, Marxism, Islam, the left, it’s all one and the same. I guess you could split hairs over some of their internal belief systems, but as far as this end of it goes, it’s all the same. And I’m going to keep throwing this out there. Those of you that are on the left, if you don’t believe in all of that, why are you still there? Some of you that claim to be Christians that are on the left, how? Why? How could you be on that side? Especially after a day like today, how could you be on that side? I really want a good excuse, a good answer. Not excuse. I want a good answer as to why you feel like, as a Christian, you can still be in that camp. Because I can’t wrap my head around it. I just can’t. Roof Savers of Colorado. What I can wrap my head around is if you need anything done with your roof, Dave is your guy to call. Now back to Rush to Reason on KLZ 560.
SPEAKER 11 :
All right, that’s going to do it for our second hour. We’re going to have a full hour coming your way, of course. Scott Garlis will be joining us at 5.30, and we’ll switch gears a little bit. I’ve got some other things to talk about in this last hour, and I think I’ve covered the last two hours of what happened with our evergreen shooting here of late earlier this morning and the assassination of Charlie Kirk as well. Continue to message me, though. Feel free to do so, 307-200-8222. We’ll be back here in a moment. Don’t go anywhere. Rush to Reason, Denver’s Afternoon Rush, KLZ 560.
SPEAKER 1 :
Bye. I’m a rich guy.
