Fantastic. Glad to hear it. Hey, John, before we get into some new stuff, I’d like to follow up on something you and Andy talked about the other day. Sure. About Kamala Harris and DEI. You know, I was giving that some thought. You know, I think she’s a case study. Epic failure is a classic example of what happens when you let DEI influence your hiring practices. Now, out of all the candidates Biden could have picked to be his VP choice for the 2020 election, Harris was clearly among the least qualified, which turned out to be a boon to Republicans in the 2024 election. Correct. Now, outside of his base, Trump was not very popular among independent voters, who, by the way, is the group that decides who our next president is.
SPEAKER 08 :
That’s right. That’s exactly right. We say that all the time. Unfortunately, Joe, sometimes I think our side forgets that.
SPEAKER 11 :
Yeah. Republicans are 25 percent. Democrats are 25 percent. Independents or unaffiliated are 50. And it’s the independents who decide what our next. Now, Trump was not terribly popular among the independents, but they were. they viewed him as the lesser of two evils because Comlin was clearly an airhead. Yeah, absolutely. And by the way, even though on the electoral college basis, he had a huge landslide, in the seven swing states that decided the election, he didn’t win any one of those swing states by more than 3% of the popular vote. And by the way, you only have to do a 1.5% flip to change that 3% to zero. Because if he loses 1.5%, and she would have gained 1.5. It turns out, you know, now, so here’s my point. Had Biden picked a better qualified VP candidate in 2020, and there were several, like Tulsi Gabbard, who is now our Director of National Intelligence, or Christian Gillibrand, the Senator from New York State, there’s an excellent chance that either one of them, you know, had when Biden dropped out, that they would have succeeded him as a candidate. probably would have won the election or kristin gillibrand had he picked either one of them as his vp instead of i think you know i think don’t disagree and i think what would have happened is my own personal opinion is they would have made that switch probably mid-term when joe really started to go downhill dementia wise which they’ve never officially said he has but i can tell you from everything i’m looking at he’s got dementia alzheimer’s you can see it Joe, you can see it in Joe’s eyes, is what I should say, in Biden’s eyes. So at the end of the day, I believe fully that he has that. And my feeling is if they would have had one of the picks you just mentioned, they would have made that switch much earlier, meaning that would have been a slam dunk for them.
SPEAKER 11 :
Yeah, even if they didn’t invoke the 25th Amendment, he probably would have announced that he’s not going to run, you know, back in late 2023. That’s right.
SPEAKER 08 :
Not 100 and whatever it was, seven days or whatever it was.
SPEAKER 11 :
Right. So I think it’s fortuitous for Trump that the Democrats… lost the election, in my opinion, because of their own DEI policies.
SPEAKER 08 :
Very, very true. And again, for those that are maybe not agreeing with Joe and I, keep in mind that because of all of that, Joe, there were a lot of folks that said, wait a minute, time out. You’re basically pushing me away. You know, I’m a young male voter, for example, and all of these DEI policies are not helping me in any way, shape, or form. They’re not even helping me get and retain a job. So at the end of the day, why am I voting for you?
SPEAKER 11 :
Mm-hmm. Yep. So, again, I think it’s, you know, foisted on their own petard, as they say.
SPEAKER 08 :
So I think the DEI— I can’t disagree with you on that one at all. Really, probably down the road, this will be interesting as you go into, you know, different educational systems, say, 20 years from now, Joe, how they look back on that and what’s actually talked about. But you’ve got to believe that that will be a case study from this point forward.
SPEAKER 11 :
Yeah, again, so if it wasn’t for DEI, Trump might not be our president today. Anyway, moving on. Hey— I sent you a clip on Bill Maher. There’s a short ad. Can you play the Bill Maher clip? He’s talking about the Emmys. It’s only 40 seconds. But there’s like a 10-second ad you need to cut out ahead of that clip.
SPEAKER 08 :
No, and I’ve already got it queued up and ready to go, so we should be ready. Okay, Charlie, here we go.
SPEAKER 04 :
…this bad attitude of go no contact. I mean, at the Emmys, would it have killed someone to get up there since they all want to talk about their politics? Would it kill somebody to get up there, not give a speech about how much they like Charlie Kirk, just to say we had a political assassination this week? And that’s wrong. And we should they would have been booed off the stage because he was on the wrong team. So you’re not even allowed to say that. Can you imagine if a left wing person was assassinated that week? The whole show would have been about that.
SPEAKER 08 :
You know what? Not not a huge Bill Maher fan, although I’m getting to be more and more of a fan because at least he talks sanely.
SPEAKER 11 :
He does. You know, he calls it now Bill Maher. For those who don’t know, he’s a very, very liberal.
SPEAKER 08 :
Oh, very liberal. Absolutely.
SPEAKER 11 :
But he’s made some some spot on. I think we played a couple of his clips in the prior month. Bill has been.
SPEAKER 08 :
Well, first of all, the last conversation you and I just had, if we had Bill in a three way call with us right now, he would have agreed with everything you and I just said.
SPEAKER 11 :
Yep. So I’m beginning to have some newfound admiration for Bill Maher.
SPEAKER 08 :
Well, and here’s what’s happening with him, which, as you mentioned, the name, you know, Tulsi Gabbard and others. What’s happening to Bill, I believe, is the same thing that happened to a lot of other liberals on the far left. The party left them. He didn’t leave them. The party left them.
SPEAKER 11 :
Absolutely. Yep. And I think he understands that and he’s calling out. I think he’s trying to get them to.
SPEAKER 08 :
I think he wants them back. I mean, because he’s a true Joe. Don’t don’t you know, you and I both know he is a hardcore, true blue liberal, very much on that side of the fence. So he’d love to get the party back in check, but he may not be able to. Frankly, I’m not sure he can.
SPEAKER 11 :
No. So I think what he’s doing is along the lines of constructive criticism. He’s saying, hey, idiots, listen to me. Right.
SPEAKER 08 :
You know, and that’s what you continue down this path and win.
SPEAKER 11 :
Right, exactly, and he’s not the only one on that side.
SPEAKER 08 :
No, there’s others, and yet we can give example after example, probably Will, as you and I talk, of the other side and just how – I say other side. It’s internal inside the party, but that other side inside of the party, they’re just a bunch of loons, Joe.
SPEAKER 11 :
Speaking of Lou and Say, do we want to play the clip of Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib screaming at Congressman Byron Donald? By the way, Congressman Donald is a black man. He’s a Republican from Florida. And she refers to him as a member of the Third Reich. Now, the Third Reich was the Nazis. Did you ever recall any black people in the Nazis?
SPEAKER 08 :
No, they wouldn’t have allowed that, Joe. They were inferior people to them.
SPEAKER 11 :
So here she is. Now, she starts off calm, and then she loses it. Okay, there we go.

But I think it’s important, Mr. Chair, just like in DC Home Rule was one out of black freedom struggle in the fight for civil rights, we can’t be passive right now. So nobody over there should take anything we say so personally as if we’re attacking them. No, we’re attacking a process, not attacking people here. And I think it’s really important we need to stand up against this. Fascist takeover, that’s not a bad word, it’s a fact. and here in D.C. and across the country. It is so incredibly important, Mr. Chair, that this committee does not allow rhetoric that defames or paints Washington, D.C. in a way that you all haven’t really truly seen. You’re just reading it or something off of some… Will the gentlelady yield to a question? Yeah, I think it’s really important.

But you all live here, and you’re not telling people the beautiful parts that you do see in our nation’s capital. And no, no, no. It’s just wrong how we’re doing it.

Chairman, I think it’s insane that the general lady doesn’t have an argument, but she’s going to refer to me and some of my colleagues. We were from the Third Reich. This is insane. It’s insane. It’s insane. It’s insane. Do I look like a member of the Third Reich to you, Ms. Tlaib? Is that what I look like to you? Is that what you think? Is that what you think? Is that what you think? I think it’s radical and I think it’s insane. And I don’t respect everything that you say. But to say something like that to myself and all of my colleagues is way out of line. It’s way out of line. It’s way out of line. Regular order, Mr. President. Regular order. That’s okay. But it’s okay, right? That is not how it goes. It’s okay, right? You hold yourself accountable before you talk about Washington, D.C. Hold myself accountable? Hold your own self accountable. How about that?

Rules don’t apply. Okay. And I know on Monday you talked, I think Monday or Tuesday, you talked about the Johnny Carson interview. Did you play that?

People say he’ll never take a serious controversy. Well, I have an answer to that. I said, now, tell me the last time that Jack Benny, Red Skelton, Benny Comedian, used his show to do serious issues. That’s not what I’m there for. Can’t they see that? But you’re not… Why do they think that just because you have a Tonight Show that you must deal in serious issues? That’s a danger. It’s a real danger. Once you start that… You start to get that self-important feeling that what you say has great import. And, you know, strangely enough, you could use that show as a forum. You could sway people. And I don’t think you should as an entertainer.
SPEAKER 08 :
Well said.
SPEAKER 11 :
And, of course, people like Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel.
SPEAKER 08 :
Well, they use their platform all the time.
SPEAKER 11 :
That’s exactly.
SPEAKER 08 :
You know, the other guy that would agree with Johnny Carson was probably in the same camp as Johnny, politically speaking, maybe a little bit more to the right than Johnny Carson, maybe more down the middle. But that would be Jay Leno.
SPEAKER 11 :
I was going to say the same thing. Jay Leno right down the middle. Because as soon as you take one side or the other, you’ve alienated half your audience.
SPEAKER 08 :
And here’s the difference between those two and the rest of these guys. They’re capitalists and understand how to make money, Joe.
SPEAKER 1 :
Yep.
SPEAKER 08 :
I mean, look at both of them. I mean, Johnny’s gone, of course. But look at Jay Leno. Look at the literal, you know, empire that he’s built. Some of the things he’s done since getting out of The Tonight Show, the car end of things and what he’s done there. And, you know, just even all the channels regarding he’s a great car lover like, you know, like I am, Joe. And he’s done a great thing along those lines and built a lot of great vehicles and has had shows along those lines. And it’s just continued his, quote unquote, empire along. And again, still not getting into the political end of things, even to this day.
SPEAKER 11 :
Didn’t need to when he had the number one rated talk show, and as did Johnny Carson. Could have. Yep. Neither one of them felt the need to take a political position. And by the way, I remember Jay Leno and Johnny Carson both taking shots. They would have Republicans on them, and they would take shots at both of them, but they were never vicious. It was equal. Yeah, and also, they were never vicious. They were always good majors.
SPEAKER 08 :
No, just poking fun at. It’s sort of that ribbing that, by the way, you can’t do anymore in this country because everybody’s so thin-skinned.
SPEAKER 11 :
Exactly. I want to move on, by the way. For your listeners, there are people out there who continue to take eight-word clips that Charlie Kirk has said and say, see, see, he was a racist. See, see, he was a bigot. And they only take eight words of something he said. And there’s a black podcaster named Jeffrey Mead. Yep, I follow him.
SPEAKER 08 :
Great guy, by the way.
SPEAKER 11 :
And he does this, and the first thing you’ll hear him play is a clip of another podcaster using one of those eight-word clips taken out of context to prove that Charlie Kirk was a racist. Now, we don’t have to play the end of the Jeffrey Mead thing, but I think let’s play the first one.
SPEAKER 08 :
And really quick for all of you listening, Jeffrey is one of the—I don’t think I’m wrong in saying this, Joe— probably one of the most intelligent and lays things out in a very calm fashion every time he does a video and really just picks away at things along these lines. I’ll play it.
SPEAKER 19 :
Okay, so I’ve had a whole lot of white folks commenting on my last video asking for proof that Charlie Kirk was an outspoken racist. And there are many horrible quotes to choose from, but there’s one that I haven’t seen get quite as much attention that I believe is head and shoulders worse than all the rest. In December of 2023, Kirk said, quote, End quote.
SPEAKER 16 :
See how he said, end quote. Charlie Kirk has explained his reasoning behind this multiple times. And these people have to leave out the context in order to paint the picture they want to paint. Listen to Charlie Kirk talking about this.
SPEAKER 17 :
You said the Civil Rights Act was a mistake. What do you mean by that? Yeah, so the parts of the Civil Rights Act were great, but the way it’s now being implemented to force men and female bathrooms to push forward of the trans agenda, the intent of the Civil Rights Act is way beyond what it was originally offered for. But the intent specifically originally was to… Well, that’s interesting. So the intent and the law are two different things. So the intent was noble, which was to say that no American can be not allowed into a place of business based on the color of their skin or their ethnic heritage. Totally agree with that.
SPEAKER 16 :
Did we see what he just said?
SPEAKER 17 :
So he said he’s totally in agreement with that. He also said it was noble. Let’s actually look at the definition of noble real quick. Number two is the definition that applies.
SPEAKER 16 :
So he’s saying the Civil Rights Act had high moral principles. It was noble. It was good. He says he’s in agreement with the intent. So no, he doesn’t want black people being denied at water fountains. He does not think we shouldn’t have rights in this country. Now let’s let him continue.
SPEAKER 17 :
That’s not what the law only did. It created a massive anti-racist DEI army that then gave us affirmative action. For example, recently Merrick Garland sued using the Civil Rights Act, saying that we cannot have voter ID in certain states because it’s a violation of the Civil Rights Act. So basically what the Civil Rights Act did is that it went beyond disparate impact and then went to disparate effect.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah, and I’ll stop there, Joe, because as you know, that’s one thing that people, when they write laws, they tend to overlook. I don’t want to say forget about, because I just think they overlook, and they don’t understand how that law and what they’re implementing is. That’s why I’m so against new laws of almost anything, Joe, because we have far too many and need to take some away. Because as you know, those laws can then be twisted around and changed and used for other things that their intent never was.
SPEAKER 11 :
road to hell is paved with good intentions, John. But the reason I wanted to give that one example is that there’s a dozen or more liberals taking six or seven words that Charlie Kirk said and twisting them, trying to paint him as a bigot and a racist. And if you hear any one of those, you need to go listen to the entire thing that Charlie Kirk said. And Jeffrey Mead just did a great job of doing that. So again, I think we played some clips last week. In fact, there’s another clip I’d like to play They said, well, he was homophobic and he hated transgender. There’s a clip of him counseling a transgender woman. And I think this is really beautiful, the advice he gave there. I agree. I’ll play it.

I just want to say I’m a transgender male. What age should kids be able to get things like hormone therapy? Because I don’t know what’s true, what’s not.
SPEAKER 24 :
Tell me, are you comfortable telling me your story? Will you pause? What he just did right there is like Jedi pastoral move. Somebody is asking you a question, and his first thing is essentially, tell me your story. Let me figure out why this is important to you. So he’s discerning what’s in this person’s heart. Are they coming to me for help? Or are they coming for an argument? Like, that’s brilliant. It’s compassionate. All right, let’s keep going.

Since like third grade, and I’m currently 19, almost 20, I’ve known basically since then, I didn’t start going by like a different name until… 7th and 8th grade. I just don’t know, like, with the whole medical stuff, like, what’s true, what’s not, what’s helpful, because I’ve heard so many different opinions.
SPEAKER 17 :
First of all, thank you so much for that. Yeah, of course. So, I’m going to have an opinion that very few people will ever tell you, which is I want you to be very cautious putting drugs into your system in the pursuit of changing your body. I instead encourage you to work on what’s going on in your brain first. Dude, he’s doing theology here. Romans 12.
SPEAKER 24 :
um be transformed by the renewing of your mind this is brilliant he’s like he’s a christian man applying his theology to this person in this issue because the transgenderism issue is hey man there’s a it feels like there’s discontinuity between my mind and my body And what the transgender movement says is, oh, change your body to come in alignment with your mind. The Bible says, no, no, no, no. Let’s renew our mind to come in alignment with the truth. I just want to point that out. Let’s keep going.
SPEAKER 17 :
I think what you need first and foremost is just a diagnosis. Just someone that is going to listen to what you’ve gone through, listen to what else is going on. My prayer for you, and again, very few will say this, I actually want to see you be comfortable in how you were born. I know that you might not feel that way, but I think that is something that you can achieve. I think that with the right team and the right people, you don’t have to wage war on your body. You can learn to love your body.
SPEAKER 24 :
By the way, there are more people than people would think at Lake Point who came from previously identified as transgender and then the Lord saved them and brought them out. And by the way, that’s why the scriptures say, you shall know the truth and the truth will set you free. Well, why will the truth set you free? The truth sets you free when you’ve been enslaved by a lie. And somebody that’s in that spot, like you can see it in that person’s body, like she’s not okay. And it’s actually a lie. That’s enslaving. So it’s like telling somebody the truth in that situation that that’s not hateful and it’s not hurtful. The most loving thing you can do is explode the lie that’s enslaving the person.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah, really what and we’ve talked about it many times on air, Joe. Charlie’s exactly right. I mean, he’s looking at it in the same way that I do. This is not a a body issue that this particular individual is having. It’s a mind issue. In a lot of cases, it’s a mental illness. And where does that come from? That, Joe, I’m sorry, I don’t have a high enough IQ to explain that. It could come from their lifestyle, how they’re raised, the different people that they’re around, what they’re taught at school. I mean— There can be all sorts of things I think that come into play. And frankly, Joe, in a lot of cases, I do believe this. It’s frankly not having I’m going to say it this way. It’s not having a dad, a father figure that will come alongside and say, this is who you are.
SPEAKER 11 :
And I think the key point. All right. So as he points out, when you’re transgender, there’s a disconnect between your mind and your and your body, your physiology. Correct. And what the liberals want to do. Well, let’s let’s right away. Let’s only focus on changing the body. And they never even want to talk about, well, maybe we should look at you. Now, buddy, once you change the body, that’s irreversible. You’re done. You’re done. That’s right. But if you focus on the mind first, hey, why don’t we first, let’s see if the mind, if we can maybe get the mind in line with your body. And if that doesn’t work, you always have the option of going back and changing your body. but they always want to go to let’s change the body first, and once you do that, there’s no going back.
SPEAKER 08 :
Well, and they know that, Joe. Number one, it’s a cash cow. Number two, they know that there is no going back, so now they’ve got that person pretty much in their grips from that point forward, and even if they do change down the road, they’re never going to be the same person, so they still win at the end of the day.
SPEAKER 11 :
Right, and the suicide rate, as you know, John, for people that have— the suicide rate among transgender people who have undergone surgery is much higher, much higher than transgender people— who have not undergone any surgical changes.
SPEAKER 08 :
It’s huge, Joe. It’s huge. It’s huge. Really, it’s an epidemic. We talk about all this other stuff that the left wants to be big on, gun control and all this other stuff. They should be focused there.
SPEAKER 11 :
Right. And by the way, did that sound to you like a transgender hating bigot to you?
SPEAKER 08 :
No, he loved her dearly and wanted her to be a different person from the inside out.
SPEAKER 11 :
Yeah, so again, I don’t know why the left is trying so hard to characterize Charlie Kirk as a racist, as a bigot.

Good versus evil.

That’s all it is, Joe. Good versus evil. He’s the good. They’re the evil. They don’t like, you know, those two mix like oil and water, and they just can’t do it.

Other than that, you’re okay? American commitment, I talked about that a moment ago. You’ve got a campaign talking about stopping climate craziness.
SPEAKER 18 :
Yeah, we just did a big comment campaign that actually wrapped up this week because the docket closed at the EPA, but this is a big one. People need to be tuned into this because the Trump administration this time around is striking right at the heart of all of the EPA greenhouse gas regulations, which is the 2009 endangerment finding that said that greenhouse gases endanger human health and welfare and therefore should be regulated under the 1970 Clean Air Act. And that was the linchpin of all the EV mandates, which we’ve talked about before, of all of the power sector regulations, of all of the industrial regulations, basically everything they’ve done They’ve done by this mechanism because they never actually passed a climate law through Congress. They tried.
SPEAKER 08 :
It’s dovetailed into something else that already existed.
SPEAKER 18 :
You never get the votes. And so, you know, the liberal states basically sued the Bush administration. They got this case in 2007, 5-4, where the Supreme Court said, oh, the EPA has to decide based on the science. Then Bush sat on his hands for a couple of years. Then Obama came in, and it was full blazes ahead. Trump kind of, in his first term, kind of tinkered around the edges of it. but didn’t really strike at the heart of it. And I think it’s because he got a lot of bad advice back then of, oh, you’re going to be called a climate denier, don’t do this. And, of course, you know, he’s learned so many lessons from his first term, and this time he’s striking right at the heart of it. And if they succeed in court, and I think they’ve got a really good chance, it’s going to be very, very difficult, if not impossible, for a future Democratic administration to bring all of this economy-wide greenhouse gas regulation back unless they could actually get the votes in Congress, which, by the way, is the way our system is supposed to work.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah, I was just going to say, that’s exactly how things are supposed to work. You heard Trump, of course, talking about that in front of the U.N. and even talking about how crazy it was and the fact that a lot of these other countries, if they continue down that path, it’ll break them. And by the way, he’s not wrong, Phil. He wasn’t wrong in anything that he said. And I think he maybe isn’t super eloquent in how he says it, but he was dead on in everything he said.
SPEAKER 18 :
It was fantastic. He said it right to all these European countries. He said you massively increased your energy prices. You imposed economic hardship on your countries. You achieved these big greenhouse gas reductions. And guess what? China swamped you in a matter of weeks. It made no difference to global emissions. You’re being played for fools.
SPEAKER 08 :
The only thing I wish he would have added, I said this the other day, Phil, is I wish he would have said in light of China, I wish he would have said, you know, by the way, they’re building one coal power plant, you know, coal-fired power plant every single week. You know, you guys are being snowed here.
SPEAKER 18 :
Oh, it’s amazing. The Chinese, they’re laughing so hard at us. They use cheap coal-fired electricity here. To build the solar panels they sell us that we buy with all our tax dollars. Exactly. Absolutely incredible.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah, I mean, it’s just, it’s almost, I mean, Phil, you almost couldn’t, if you were in that world and you were trying to fleece everybody and you were trying to literally pull money out of one person’s pocket and put it in another, this is the storybook that you would write. It’s insane. It’s insane.
SPEAKER 18 :
Yeah, it’s pretty incredible. And the other thing I really like about what they did this time around is, you know, not only do they have this EPA action, which is basically a legal argument. Their argument is, look, it was never legal in the first place for EPA to do all of this. If Congress wanted economy-wide greenhouse gas regulation, they should have passed it. They cite all these recent cases to that effect. They’ve got all the economic arguments in there. But what they did that no Republican before this administration had the guts to do is, They also contest all the science. And the EPA didn’t do that. What they did is they had the Energy Department do a full review of all of the climate science. And what they did that I think was so brilliant, first of all, they debunked all of the alarmist stuff. They basically, they run through all the facts and all the data. They find that warming is happening, but it’s pretty mild. They’re not going to be the catastrophic impacts that people are talking about. They’ve got a very comprehensive report. But they actually put the names of the authors on the report. And the lead author… Stephen Coonan was the top science advisor in the Obama White House. And so they’ve got the name of, you know, a legendary scientist, very, very famous distinguished physicist who was also the top scientist in the Obama White House as the lead author on this report that basically says all the apocalyptic claims are overblown and not supported by the data. So that’s going to be in this docket as well, and the courts will have to contend with not just the legal and the economic arguments, but the science debate is actually being joined rather than just giving the other side a clear field.
SPEAKER 08 :
What’s the timeline like on this?
SPEAKER 18 :
Well, they just finished the comment period. They’ll probably take, I would guess, a month or two to publish the final, final decision of the endangerment finding, and I’m sure the green groups will run to the nearest friendly courthouse and get some district judge to, you know, side with them, and then they’ll have to go through the appeals and stuff like that. So, I don’t think it’ll be at the Supreme Court for a year or so, and that’s the only court that matters in the end. So it’ll take its time.
SPEAKER 08 :
So it’ll take a little while for it to run its way, you know, quote, unquote, up the flagpole. Okay, so really quick, and this isn’t in my notes, but I want to ask you this. Given we’ve got a deadline coming up for, you know, government spending and government could shut down and so on and so forth, what are your thoughts on all of that? You know, the Trump Organization, you know, the White House, they’re looking at if that happens, you know, we’re going to continue these, you know, government not only layoffs but, you know, terminations if it comes to that. What are your thoughts on all that?
SPEAKER 18 :
Well, I love it. I mean, you know, normally what happens in these shutdowns is they furlough people and you get a bunch of federal workers that are not going to work for the duration of the shutdown. Then they bring them all back and they pay them for the time that they weren’t working and say, oh, thanks, you know, here’s all the money for the time you weren’t working. Russ Vogt, the White House budget director, says, and I can do that this time. In fact, they’re going to do layoffs, permanent layoffs, if there’s a lapse in appropriations. And, you know, Democrats are saying, oh, my God, they’re bluffing, they won’t do it. We’ll get judges to stop them. Well, maybe. You want to risk that? Maybe. But, you know, the Democrats are making astonishingly ridiculous demands right now. Republicans put a bill on the floor to just extend the current funding, not to change anything, extend it for seven weeks to have more time to debate. The Democrats said, no, no, no. will only do it if you repeal all of the health care reforms from the big, beautiful bill.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah, they want all the Medicaid stuff back in, some of the stuff that actually got taken out.
SPEAKER 18 :
They want to put illegals back on the rolls. They want to run sex change operations on minors. Basically, everything that Trump won the election on, they want him to agree to reverse? Are they insane?
SPEAKER 08 :
Not going to happen.
SPEAKER 18 :
Yeah, like no chance.
SPEAKER 08 :
Now, the one thing that we’re up against, this is what I have to remind everybody of that’s out there trying to vote for candidates and, you know, do the purity test on them and so on, is, you know, we’ve only got a 53-47 majority, and you need a 60-vote majority to overcome a filibuster, and right now we don’t have the votes to do that.
SPEAKER 18 :
Yeah. So, I mean, look, they can force a shutdown if they want to, the Democrats.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yes.
SPEAKER 18 :
It does look like—I mean, here’s the thing. Schumer— you know, a lot of people are saying, oh, he’s trying to set things up for the 2026 midterms. I say, no, no, no, no, no. He’s trying to survive his own 2028 primary. This is about the politics of 28, not 26. He sees AOC. He’s scared to death. He doesn’t know if it’s going to be her or someone like her, but he knows he has to do whatever the radical left wing of his party wants, at least initially. And so I think that’s why we will have a shutdown, because he’s going to say, We can’t vote for any spending bill. We’re going to filibuster.
SPEAKER 08 :
Do you think that’s going to be one of their campaign things they run on? As far as those that are running in 2026, that’s what they’ll use. They’ll say, you know, we stuck to our guns. We wanted to make sure we got all these things back in. So, yeah, we even went as far as to shut the government down to do so.
SPEAKER 18 :
In Democrat primaries, I think those insane positions are, you know, that’s the right position in the primary, even though those positions are insane in a general election. And so I think that’s what they’re trying to do. But, you know, what I think will happen is we will have a shutdown. But I think it will be over before the end of October. I think it’ll just be a couple of weeks. And I think what Schumer will do is basically tell the left wing of his party, look, I did what you wanted. We accomplished nothing. We look ridiculous. We’ve got to agree to something. And I think he will maneuver that. He’s a pretty good politician. He will maneuver this so that he gave them the shutdown they wanted, and he fought as hard as he could for them, but then also he saved them from the shutdown and agreed to something. I think he will try to do both of those things.
SPEAKER 08 :
So he’s going to basically try to play both sides?
SPEAKER 18 :
Well, of course.
SPEAKER 08 :
That’s what good politicians do, so yeah.
SPEAKER 18 :
That’s what I expect.
SPEAKER 08 :
You know what? I don’t know that I can disagree with you on any of that. And as you know, they’re going to play this up to be the martyr when it’s all said and done. We didn’t have any choice. We had to shut things down. We’re working hard for you guys. We wanted some of these things put back in. You know, those dirty, rotten Republicans, they took all of your rights away. They took all of your money away. At the end of the day, we’re just trying to get stuff back for you.
SPEAKER 18 :
Right, except, you know, the things that they’re talking about are super unpopular things.
SPEAKER 08 :
Correct.
SPEAKER 18 :
So, I mean, maybe they’re just counting on the media being in their pocket or something, but I think it’s going to be tough. It’s going to be tough because Trump has the biggest platform in the world. He says things and they’re everywhere within minutes. You know, he puts something on truth and it’s in every inbox and every headline everywhere. And so I just, I don’t see, I don’t see how it goes well for them, but I feel like they’re going to try it anyway. They have to for, you know, primary reasons.

All right. Nine News actually published this earlier this morning, and that is the U.S. economy expanded at a surprising 3.8% pace, which, by the way, is a significant upgrade from the second quarter growth. As a reminder, it’s a lot of what Scott Garlis and I have been talking about on Wednesdays, not Jordan Goodman, on Tuesdays. We talk to Jordan once a month. And Jordan, as you guys all know, is on the left side of the aisle, doesn’t think things are going quite as well, you know, blames a lot of the woes that we have, like a lot of folks on the left do on, you know, tariffs and Trump’s policy and this, that and the other. And reality is I don’t. have been saying no that’s not going to have any real effect when it’s all said and done the economy is still going to grow could we be doing a lot better than we are right now think about this we’re at 3.8 percent and had the fed done what they needed to do six months ago in regards to rates we would even be at a higher pace and we would have been there much faster Remember, we’ve got an entire sector of the economy called real estate, which is a really big sector of the economy. I didn’t look it up today to see exactly how big it is, but it’s big. In Trump’s words, it’s huge. And it’s faltering mainly because— of the Fed. And not doing and I know somebody’s gonna text me say the Fed doesn’t control mortgage rates. Yeah, they do. In an indirect way. They do. I understand how all that works and where the 30 year mortgage is, and where it comes from and what it’s based on and so on. I also know that yes, indeed, it has an effect. The other thing that it’s affecting, Joe and I didn’t get a chance to talk about this. There was an article out today, CarMax, who’s one of the biggest used car dealers in the country, is taking a major hit right now because a lot of their inventory of used cars keep mine. They keep inventory in some cases for probably longer than they want to, but a week or two or three. They most likely try to get those cars moved within 30 days. That’s kind of the standard in that industry, or sooner if they can. But the market on used cars is coming down right now. mainly on bigger trucks and that really hardcore, and there are a lot of vehicles in that midsize SUV market. We talk about that a lot on Drive Radio. I get people that even call in and ask about that particular segment. What should I buy? And so on. They got a lot of inventory, and they’re taking a hit, and mainly because two things. One is interest rates. People just can’t buy a new car, or a used car for that matter. And given the fact that they can’t do either, what’s sitting there sits. New and used. Now, there’s always going to be a certain amount of buys that are made because people have accidents, they total their car, insurance steps in, all sorts of different things. So people are going to buy cars no matter what, no matter how bad the economy gets, there’s still going to be cars sold, but not at the range that CarMax needs right now. Not at the rate, I should say, that CarMax needs. So they’re taking a big hit right now because interest rates and… the fact that they’re high on new and used, and because new cars aren’t selling and that inventory is rising, meaning they’ll start discounting those cars, and as new cars become cheaper as far as the discount structure is concerned, or they write in X amount of money for a 0% loan, which there are right now, whatever the case is, when they lower the price of a new car, used car prices naturally drop as well. My point is… Because of interest rates being where they’re at with the Fed, and that does directly affect the price of buying a car. The Fed does, I mean. In turn, you’re seeing some faltering even in the used car world right now, new and used car. So my point is you could fix a lot of this. And the Fed could have even done a better job last week instead of doing a quarter point, should have done a half point. But as I keep saying, and I know I sound like a broken record, they’re way behind. They’re not doing what’s necessary. Jerome Powell is fighting with Donald Trump and literally affecting the middle class, the middle America at the same time. Doesn’t care at the end of the day. I believe wholeheartedly he knows what he’s doing there, but he’s got that smug attitude of, I don’t really care. I’m not in that world. I don’t play by those rules. I don’t care. That’s Jerome Powell. So in spite of Jerome and the things that he hasn’t done, we still grew at a 3.8% pace. That’s actually really good. And frankly, it will go up if you can get… The Fed on track doing what really Donald Trump wants to do. And this is another area where, you know, a lot of you had talked earlier in the four o’clock hour about those that want the purity test all the time, even with Donald Trump. He doesn’t do this. He doesn’t do that. Well, you know what? The one thing that he does do well in and that he almost gets right every single time, he’s very seldom ever wrong, is the economy. People forget, you know, Donald Trump’s background and what he actually has done, what he actually studied even in school, in college, economics. I’ll tell you right now, he understands it better than the Fed does. That’s my opinion, and I don’t think I’m wrong in that. He has a sharper, better understanding of it than the current Fed board and the current Fed chair does. So there’s one thing that he’s normally not wrong in, and that’s the economy, and he knows what it takes to get it going, but you also have to have the other players, i.e. the Fed, participating. We’ve got the Treasury participating. He’s got percent doing what’s needed as far as that is concerned. And by the way, if it wasn’t for him, we’d really be in bad shape. So you can thank Donald Trump for having him there because that’s helping out immensely. So at any rate, we did have good growth. We’re going to see more growth. We’ve got to get things back on track when it comes to the Fed. Real estate has to pick back up. That’s the biggest thing I think Donald Trump is concerned about right now when it comes to the economy, and we’ll see how he handles that as Speaking of finances and all of that, Golden Eagle Financial is next. I don’t normally complain about things like I’m going to complain about, but I was just telling Charlie a moment ago that a lot of nights, depending upon traffic and directions and so on, but in a lot of nights, because of the express lanes now on I-70, I run up 225, hit I-70, and head west. And yes, I hop in the express lane because I want to get home. I’m not dinking around for another 10 minutes waiting in traffic. I got stuff to do. And for some of you, you probably know that on 225, they’re doing some nighttime construction in regards to some of the ramps or not ramps, but some of the bridges and some of the approaches. And there’s some uneven asphalt and things going on there, and they’re trying to get some of that stuff smoothed out. So they’re doing some work on the road at night, or it’s supposed to be. Last night… Traffic gets to be snarled up on 225, and I’m looking like, what in the world is going on? And I continue to look, and all of a sudden I get to where there’s some construction and some cones, and it goes from whatever it is, four lanes down to three lanes down to two lanes, and finally down to one lane. I’m like, this is supposed to be later at night. What is going on? This is, you know, 630 in the evening. And come to find out, one lonely… Barricade guy, probably working for CDOT, evidently had his wires crossed because I guarantee you he’s not supposed to be out there putting cones up at 630. He started probably even earlier, probably started at 545 to 6 because he had traffic all snarled up. Only guy out there laying out cones, blocking everything down to one lane. What an absolute knucklehead. That just goes to show you that between CDOT, in this case the subcontractor, somebody got their wires crossed, and this guy did not care. He didn’t care that he had traffic backed up for miles. Literally miles. Did not care. Kind of had that attitude of it doesn’t matter. All right, that’s my complaint from last night.
