Join us in this engaging episode of Rush to Reason where John Rush sits down with Larry Barron, Communications Director of Power of the Future. Together they delve into the whirlwind of changes evident in the political realm, particularly focusing on the U.S. Climate Alliance and the Paris Climate Accord. They unravel the complexities of governance, state decisions, and how these affect the average American’s financial wellbeing. With a dash of humor and vivid anecdotes, Larry paints a picture of the current energy policies and their broader implications, illustrating the disconnect between state governments and their citizens. Amidst a
SPEAKER 05 :
This is Rush to Reason.
SPEAKER 07 :
You are going to shut your damn yapper and listen for a change because I got you pegged, sweetheart. You want to take the easy way out because you’re scared. And you’re scared because if you try and fail, there’s only you to blame. Let me break this down for you. Life is scary. Get used to it. There are no magical fixes.
SPEAKER 05 :
With your host, John Rush. My advice to you is to do what your parents did! Get a job, Turk! You haven’t made everybody equal. You’ve made them the same, and there’s a big difference.
SPEAKER 09 :
Let me tell you why you’re here. You’re here because you know something. What you know, you can’t explain. But you feel it. You’ve felt it your entire life. That there’s something wrong with the world. You don’t know what it is, but it’s there. It is this feeling that has brought you to me.
SPEAKER 08 :
Are you crazy? Am I? Or am I so sane that you just blew your mind?
SPEAKER 04 :
It’s Rush to Reason with your host, John Rush. Presented by High Five Plumbing, Heating, Cooling, and Electric, where every call ends with a high five.
SPEAKER 14 :
All right, welcome. Hour number three, Rush to Reason, Denver’s Afternoon Rush. Myself, by the way, Andy Pate, and Charlie Grimes, of course, our engineer, Larry Barron, is joining us now from Power of the Future Communications Director. Larry, welcome back. How are you?
SPEAKER 15 :
Oh, great to talk with you, John. I’m doing all right.
SPEAKER 14 :
Always a joy. Haven’t talked to you since the big inauguration day and the things that have happened since. And we’ve been, you know, gloating a little. We won’t deny that. And lots of things going on. We have, as you know, all sorts of talk this week with tariffs and different things. And what’s that going to do to, you know, the energy end of things? If we do something with Canada, what does that do to us here? And so on and so forth. So I thought, hey, who better to have on to talk about some of this than you?
SPEAKER 15 :
Oh, well, thank you so much. Yeah, it’s been faster than even I thought. I was expecting pretty fast.
SPEAKER 14 :
It has been lightning fast, which we were talking in the first hour, Larry, it needed to be. There’s a lot of things that needed to happen quickly, including the review of the check register at the Treasury, which, of course, is a big deal right now among the left. But the reality is, Larry, we need an audit of not just the check registry, but what we’re doing when it comes to energy and, by the way, a lot of the payola that happens inside of that industry.
SPEAKER 15 :
You’re absolutely right. You know, if folks are really worked up about USAID, which they should be, and I am, wait till they find out what money’s been flowing out to the green agenda, particularly in the last six weeks of Joe Biden’s terms. I mean, it is in the billions upon billions of dollars. And so absolutely, those records need to be audited. But when we see these executive actions. We start in tariffs and everything. We start to see someone who is putting America first. And I don’t know about you guys, but I’m pretty blown away by the reaction to Washington, because I think they are genuinely shocked that President Trump is doing exactly what he said when he got elected. They’re so used to just saying things and then the people don’t follow through.
SPEAKER 06 :
Absolutely.
SPEAKER 15 :
What actually does, they’re starting to freak out.
SPEAKER 06 :
Larry, I got a question for you because my favorite thing out of everything, no, no, the board was my favorite, but one of my favorite things out of everything he’s done is pull us out of the Paris Climate Accord. And here’s my question. Without the United States to rob, is there a Paris Climate Accord? I mean, seriously, if they don’t have us paying for so much of it, if they don’t have us to rob and to have our money and redistribute it, is there even an agreement?
SPEAKER 15 :
No, there’s really not. And folks will say, oh, yeah, but there’s still Europe and there’s still China. You know what? There were loopholes in the agreement for China. So China was able to ignore that from the get-go. And so, no, it’s kind of like the United Nations where we are, what, 25% of their entire budget comes to the United States? If the United States pulls out a Paris climate agreement, there is no climate agreement. And let’s be clear, the Paris climate agreement is designed to fail because it’s an absolute disaster. If Joe Biden really loved it, like he said he did, he would have put it through Congress when his party controlled both chambers. But it is that unpopular and that detrimental to the United States that even Joe Biden said no. And so to see people cry crocodile tears over pulling out of it now is is really just disingenuous. But as you all know, Colorado apparently is going to stay in.
SPEAKER 14 :
Unbelievable. Talk to us, Larry, about the U.S. Climate Alliance that’s financed by Michael Bloomberg. He is one of those groups, by the way, that are denying the election results and the fact that Donald Trump is, in fact, president. And really, not only is he president by the Electoral College end of things, he won the popular vote. And frankly, Larry, I think he probably won in a larger way. percentage than what it really shows because i know the other side does cheat to a certain extent so i don’t know exactly how much bigger that would have been but i can tell you i think it’s even bigger because when you talk to the majority of people that are out there even people in the past that didn’t support trump they like his policies they want to see what he can do moving forward they like what’s going on right now when it comes to doge and by the way they’re tired of paying high prices at the pump and to heat their homes
SPEAKER 15 :
Yeah, they absolutely are. So much good information there. You know, it is when we look at the election, Donald Trump was very clear about what he stood for and what he didn’t. And he did not stand for Paris Climate Accord and the Green Agenda. And you’re absolutely right. America elected him because of that position and, of course, many others. And so America has rejected the Paris Climate Accord. But when you look at the U.S. Climate Alliance, this was a group started by Michael Bloomberg. when Trump first came into office, because they said, we know Trump is going to pull us out of the Paris Climate Accords, and we want to continue being in them, we as these states. And they are, by and large, a Democratic organization. They do have one token Republican governor. It’s usually from the Northeast, Maryland or Vermont or something like that. So they can call themselves weak, bipartisan. But the day that President Trump was inaugurated, they put out a press release saying, nope, our state’s which includes Colorado, is still going to abide by the Paris Climate Accord. They can’t. Yeah, they can’t. But they’re still going to hand down rules. I mean, your neighbor to the south, New Mexico, still handing down those EV rules, even though President Trump has pulled them back on the federal level. And so there are things that they can still do to keep, you know, I call it putting behind a green wall. They’ve tried to continue this failed agenda. And unfortunately, citizens in those states are going to continue to pay for it unless they’re they stand up and say no more.
SPEAKER 06 :
Larry, isn’t that just going to create an even greater imbalance, though, between red and blue states? And here’s what I mean. We already saw over the last several years people fleeing from blue states that engage in these things heavily and going to places like Florida, Texas, Mississippi, and Alabama, so forth. Aren’t they just going to do it more? Isn’t it going to look even worse for these states that keep pursuing things like the Paris Climate Agreement?
SPEAKER 15 :
Yes, it absolutely is. And there’s two tiers to that. And we witnessed it, right? The people who can’t afford to move to better pastures will absolutely do that. But what about the working families, folks who are having to work three jobs to just try to keep paying their bills? I mean, if you look at the top five states for gas prices and the top five states for electricity prices, Guess what? They’re all members of the U.S. Climate Alliance. And so residents of these states are paying more. And there’s even five states that voted for Donald Trump that are part of the U.S. Climate Alliance. So these governors are willingly saying, I don’t care what my citizens said. This Bloomberg-funded group and the Paris Climate Accord is more important.
SPEAKER 14 :
Which you look at the last election, you look at even some of these states, as you just said, where by and large their state even said, we want Donald Trump as our president. We want to see these things change. We want to see things be different moving forward. We want prices to be lower. We want more money in our pocket. You know, we want a better future for our families when it’s all said and done. And energy is a big part of that, Larry. And yet these knucklehead governors. And heads of states, if you would, not the state, but states are basically just snubbing their nose. And sorry to say it this way, but they’re just throwing their middle finger up at their own citizens.
SPEAKER 15 :
Yeah, absolutely. After how many years of lecturing us about democracy? Right. Let’s be clear. They have decided that their citizens don’t matter and that they are going to continue going down this agenda. And you have to ask yourself, what would force them to do this? Well, it’s lucrative. You know, the Bloomberg Group allows them to travel to these U.N. climate conferences internationally. So they get to jet set and talk about how wonderful they are and hobnob with the Bill Gates of the world and the John Kerry’s of the world. But the fact of the matter is, their citizens are the ones that continually have to pick up the bill. And so it never ceases to amaze me when there is a Republican in the White House, how quickly those on the left learn about states’ rights.
SPEAKER 14 :
You are correct. Larry, Power of the Future, how do folks find you and just stay up on the things you guys are fighting for?
SPEAKER 15 :
They can head on over to PoweroftheFuture.com. We’ll talk about all those EPA layoffs and all the other good news coming out of Doge and a whole lot of places. I appreciate you guys so much.
SPEAKER 14 :
Appreciate you, Larry. Keep up the great work, and it’s an exciting future for us here, at least in the near future. Let’s hope it stays that way.
SPEAKER 15 :
Absolutely. Have a great night, guys.
SPEAKER 14 :
You too, Larry. Appreciate you very much. Great guy, by the way. And for all of you listening, Power of the Future, we have several individuals like Larry that really stay on top of these things and do some heavy lifting when we, you know, you, Andy, and I cannot do some of these things. We can’t fight the climate alliance that’s funded by Michael Bloomberg. But you get folks like Larry where they’ve got a lot of people contributing at one time, and that gives him the power to go and fight some of these things, and we need that. They fight the battles. You can’t. That’s exactly right. So go check them out, and if you’ve got the opportunity to give, please do so as well. Flesh Laws next. Kevin Flesh, civil, criminal, whatever you need help with, give Kevin a call today, 303-806-8886.
SPEAKER 13 :
Here’s why you need personal injury attorney Kevin Flesch on your side. He understands the way the jury thinks. In the context of a personal injury case, you’ve been hurt by someone else’s negligence. The idea is that you’re going to try to recover so that you can get back to where you were just prior to that incident occurring. What that really means from a jurist’s perspective is that you’re going to be asking them to award you money. So when we talk about fairness, we’re talking about six people that you don’t know. Those six people view the evidence and make a unanimous decision that will decide what the fair value is. When you’re the one who’s hurt, you have a good idea of what you think it’s worth. The question is, can you persuade those other individuals whom you don’t know and were witnesses to believe that’s what the case is worth? Kevin Flesch understands the way the jury thinks. Call now for a free consultation, 303-806-8886. Affordable Interest Mortgage, Kurt Rogers.

Putting reason into your afternoon drive, this is John Rush.
SPEAKER 14 :
All right, we are back. Rush to Reason, Denver’s Afternoon Rush, KLZ 560. We were talking to Larry a moment ago, by the way. Yeah, there is a lot of things going on right now, so much so that I will be honest, folks. There’s times where I’ll have somebody say, hey, did you see such and such? And I’ll be like, yeah, no, fill me in. Yeah. Because literally, Andy, there’s like, no, I didn’t. So fill me in because, no, I can’t keep up with everything right now. And I’m reading and looking and doing all sorts of things, Andy. But there’s times where, yeah, something might slip through the cracks.
SPEAKER 06 :
Right. And by the way, earlier we were saying, don’t always be a hammer, right? Sometimes it’s a nail. But on the issues where he has been hammering, it’s been great. Can I give you some polls?
SPEAKER 14 :
Go for it.
SPEAKER 06 :
Okay. Just going to go to two different polls. And for those who are wondering, does Trump really have a mandate? Oh, get ready for mandate. Here we go. On national security, this is from Interactive Polls. Interactive, and they’re not a bastion of right-wing thought, okay? They’re a polling company. Okay. 55 to 34, he is plus 21 on national security for approval. On immigration, plus 20. That’s massive.
SPEAKER 14 :
Wow, that’s huge.
SPEAKER 06 :
On the economy, plus 17. And these decline, but they’re still huge numbers. On foreign policy, plus 16. On energy, plus 15. Taxes, plus 13. Trade, plus 13. Healthcare, plus 9. Medicare and Social Security, plus 7. He finally goes underwater on abortion, minus 2. And LGBTQ rights minus six. Okay. That’s called a smashing mandate, folks. That’s an incredible mandate. And also they were looking at his approval rating right now. Approval versus disapproval in another poll. I forget which one. I think it was Gallup. But he’s plus nine. Overall versus disapproval, 48 to 39. And then, of course, you got the ones who aren’t sure. Biden is leaving office at something like negative 17, negative 18. It’s just incredible. But here is the brutal one, because, you know, that’s just talking about Trump, Biden. Let’s talk about the whole parties. OK. Quinnipiac poll. Once again, not a bastion of right-wing thought. The Republican Party right now is 43% favorable, 45% unfavorable. That’s a negative two. The Democrats, 31% favorable, 57% unfavorable, negative 26%. Yes, right now is the time for the blitzkrieg. Yes, right now is the time to take that hammer to those issues and do it as fast as you can. Push them through so that voters have an entire year to see, hey, you know what? None of this hurt my life at all. In fact, I’m really glad he did it.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah, none of this really. In fact, at the end of the day, here’s what I think they’ll be saying, Andy. At the end of the day, I didn’t get hurt. In fact, I’ve got a little more money in my pocket now than I used to because certain things I used to buy cost more than they do now. And, oh, by the way, you know, that deadbeat cousin of mine that was always living off the dole, guess what? He’s not anymore. He’s actually having to go out and contribute like I’ve always been doing. So you know what? Thank you, Trump. Yeah, his name’s Buster. Buster had to get a job. And I’m not exaggerating when I say that, because there’s a lot of those as well that’ll eventually have to say, you know what, you’ve already seen some of this. I guess I’m going to have to go get a job. Yeah, you think?
SPEAKER 06 :
John, we are in the golden age right now for the Republican Party. The opportunities right now for the Republican Party to expand are absolutely enormous because people are liking more and more and more and more and more. Every time Tom Holman says, hey, I got a few more, and this one’s a killer, that one’s a rapist, people are just going, yes, we are so popular. It’s incredible.
SPEAKER 14 :
So maximize that. Maximize. And by the way, I’ve talked about the 21 laws of leadership earlier from John Maxwell. He calls that the big mo, the big momentum. Right. You keep that going.
SPEAKER 06 :
Oh, the big mo is going.
SPEAKER 14 :
When you have it, keep it going. That’s one of the laws of leadership.
SPEAKER 06 :
John, negative 2 versus negative 26. That’s huge. Between the two parties. I mean, maybe that’s a bit of an outlier. I have no idea. But that is, I don’t remember in my lifetime seeing it like that.
SPEAKER 14 :
Huge. Del, you’re next. Go ahead, Del.
SPEAKER 08 :
Hi, John. How you doing?
SPEAKER 14 :
I’m good, sir. How are you?
SPEAKER 08 :
Oh, not too bad. I read an article yesterday, and I haven’t been able to verify it, but maybe you can. There was supposedly a bust in California this first of the week or end of the week, over the weekend or something. But anyway, they said there was a bust on a smuggling ring out of China. And what they were doing was they were putting their contraband into the shipping containers that come over. They busted them in L.A. and the other portals in the West Coast. And then the truckers that they had, when you would pick them up, they would take them to a warehouse. break the seals and take their contraband out, and they had been making identical seals to seal them back up.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yep, I’m reading about it. It was actually published in the Fox 11, L.A., January 27th. L.A. port smuggling bust, Fed’s arrest, eight suspected of smuggling, $200 million in Chinese goods, and, and, and, to your point, Dale. So you’re correct.
SPEAKER 08 :
Okay. Yep, you’re correct. I wasn’t able to verify it.
SPEAKER 14 :
It says here just what you were saying. They manipulated shipping containers with counterfeit seals to bypass customs inspections. They brought in over $200 million worth of counterfeit goods.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 14 :
So you’re right.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah, they’re risky. Yeah, they arrested a bus, so that’s another deal that’s got busted up.
SPEAKER 14 :
And there’ll probably be more to come because this involved logistics companies, warehouse owners, corrupt truck drivers, on and on we go. This is a big deal, Dale.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 14 :
And by the way, I had heard a little bit about that last week. I just didn’t get the opportunity to. I think it’s in one of my show notes for one day. I just didn’t get a chance to get to it. But, yes, you are correct.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah, okay.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yep, spot on.
SPEAKER 08 :
Kind of ironic that China wants to raise their turf when they’ve been smuggling all this time anyway.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah, you know my feelings on China. I don’t trust those guys as far as I can throw them.
SPEAKER 08 :
That makes coolness.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yep. Thank you, Del. Appreciate you very much for bringing that to our attention. Yeah, that was something I was going to talk about last week, just never got a chance to get around to it. And by the way, this is a – we could spend, Andy, probably a segment or two on this because of how big that deal actually was, because of how far out the fingers spread. Sure. $200 million worth of goods being brought in illegally into the country. And yet we want to play nice with China? Why?
SPEAKER 06 :
Let me ask you this, John. What do you see happening with fentanyl now that Canada and Mexico are going to help stop the inflow?
SPEAKER 14 :
It’s still going to, as always, Andy.
SPEAKER 06 :
I mean, there’s a ton of it already here. Don’t get me wrong.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah, thank you. You’re still going to have some of it around. They’re still going to do everything possible that they can to get it brought in. They’ll do everything through the mules and different things that they’ve done in the past.
SPEAKER 06 :
Oh, it’s going to be hard now, John.
SPEAKER 14 :
But it’s going to be much harder to get it done now than it has been in the past.
SPEAKER 06 :
Trump is militarizing the border from both sides. Correct. Okay. And if that is not coming through, and here’s my big question. It’s not going to be right away, but let’s because, you know, there’s a lot of store storages of it in the country already. But let’s say six months out, you know, midsummer, a little later, you start to see the fentanyl deaths dropping and they keep dropping and they drop to a much lower point. How do the Democrats fight back against that narrative at that point? What is that going to do to them in the midterms? You know, everybody’s assuming Trump’s going to get everything before the midterms, everything before the midterms. John, is that actually true? We don’t know that. I know he should do poorly in the midterms. Every president does.
SPEAKER 14 :
If he does some of the things that we’re doing now and he keeps that rolling and you keep the momentum, as we talked about a few months ago, going, Andy, you could easily do very well in 2026. And I hate to keep hounding this. But our own state of Colorado in 2026, we’ve got the ability to do some things along those lines. And we have a Senate seat and a governorship, you know, governor race. Right. That we, you know, we. We have some opportunities in front of us, Andy, if we can get our ducks in a row.
SPEAKER 06 :
John, I just listed off all those issues on which Trump is polling between plus 13 and plus 21. OK, how many of those were election integrity?
SPEAKER 14 :
Zero.
SPEAKER 06 :
Nobody cares. Look, and I love election integrity. I think we need to keep pushing for better laws.
SPEAKER 14 :
I’ve interviewed a lot of those folks that are out there doing their best to help promote those things and really doing things inside of states to make that happen. We absolutely are on that side.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah, here’s what sells, voter ID. Trump is pushing voter ID. Why? Because he knows that’s the aspect of election integrity that’s going to sell. Telling everybody you’ve got to go to paper ballots and you can no longer fill it out at home. That’s not a sale, guys. Look, America’s not going to go. When’s the last time America has gone backward technologically?
SPEAKER 14 :
We don’t, Andy.
SPEAKER 06 :
I’m serious. We’ve been around.
SPEAKER 14 :
And I love all of you out there that say those things, and I’ve said it before, and I’ve even had these conversations with some of you listening. It’s impractical. It’s not going to happen. Don’t go there. Don’t ask.
SPEAKER 06 :
And would you and I love it? Same day, paperback? Yeah, I’d be all down for it. I would love it.
SPEAKER 14 :
It’s not going to happen.
SPEAKER 06 :
But I’m not the whole state of Colorado. They will not go back. So the top two issues nonstop put out by our state party are election integrity and opting out of the primary.
SPEAKER 14 :
And kill off rhinos.
SPEAKER 06 :
Right.
SPEAKER 14 :
And by the way, the word I just used. Rhino hunt. Yes, thank you. The word I’m using aren’t my words. Those are their words. The Davidians say flat out. Kill off the rhinos.
SPEAKER 06 :
Purge. They use words purge, kill off the rhinos, hunt the rhinos.
SPEAKER 14 :
Folks, I’m not exaggerating when I say that. Those are not my words. Those are theirs.
SPEAKER 06 :
Okay. So their rhino hunt and opting out of the primaries and election integrity, those are the top three things that, by the way, they’re spending all their money on legally and in many other ways while we could be pushing all those other issues.
SPEAKER 14 :
Okay. Thank you. So when we come back.
SPEAKER 06 :
Okay.
SPEAKER 14 :
Let’s discuss what are some of the key issues in Colorado that we should be focused on that the average Coloradan is actually looking at when it comes to what they want to vote on. You got it. Okay, we’ll talk about that as soon as we come back. High-five plumbing and electrical coming up next. And again, I know I say it a lot, but really, if you need any help with your plumbing end of things, because most people don’t have that ability. Some things need permitted. You can’t do it yourself. That’s where high-five comes into play. Give them the call today, by the way. Find them by just calling 877- We high-five.
SPEAKER 05 :
High-five plumbing, heating, cooling, and electric can install a tankless water heater as soon as today. Tankless water heaters are preferred to tank heaters because they heat the water as you use it, meaning you’ll never run out of hot water again. Tankless water heaters also save you money on energy costs because you’re not constantly heating up that big tank. And because they are so efficient, you will save more money in the long run. High Five customers also enjoy tankless heaters because they take up less physical space in your utility closet or laundry room. These tankless heaters can even add to your home’s resale value. In addition to all these benefits, you can receive incentives and rebates of up to $3,200 from Uncle Sam, so it pays for itself. Find out more about tankless water heaters on the klzradio.com advertisers page and get in touch with High Five for answers to your home questions today.

Reading is fundamental to understanding the world, and that’s why author Mike Goldstein wrote American Stonehenge. SPEAKER 04 :
Back to Rush to Reason, presented by High Five Plumbing, Heating, Cooling, and Electric, where every call ends with a high five.
SPEAKER 06 :
And welcome back to Rush to Reason, Denver’s Afternoon Rush, KLZ 560. John, you know, we whine and moan quite a bit because we have to because the state party is run by lunatics. Correct. Okay. I want to spend the rest of the show, unless somebody calls in talking about positives, what are the good things we could do? Okay.
SPEAKER 14 :
Well, first of all, to your point, First of all, you’ve got to figure out how to unite not only the Republican Party itself, but those unaffiliated voters that would come over to our side. Because some of them are unaffiliated because they don’t like what’s been going on in the party. They’re actually probably more conservative than most people would attribute them to being conservative. But they are. They just got fed up with whatever and went ahead and became unaffiliated. Because as I got a text message a moment ago, there’s no such thing as a registered independent. They’re unaffiliated. You’re either a Democrat or Republican or unaffiliated. One of those is where you’re at.
SPEAKER 06 :
I call them U voters.
SPEAKER 14 :
Correct. You’re a U voter. So really quick, you’ve got to figure out how to unite them. And then on top of that, Andy, one of the things that we should be focused on, instead of hunting rhinos, we should be figuring out, okay, when it comes to folks across the state of Colorado, Both sides of the aisle. Right. What are the important issues that are really going to bring them together and help them? If we can fix what they’re looking for, which, by the way, the other party’s most likely not doing, if we can just let them know that we’ll help you fix these things, we’re here to help you and make your life better at the end of the day, isn’t that, Andy, as a party, what we should be trying to focus on and figure out what moves Colorado ahead?
SPEAKER 06 :
No, we should blare at them about election integrity and opting out.
SPEAKER 14 :
Oh, and hunting rhinos.
SPEAKER 06 :
And hunting rhinos. We should do that. Just making sure.
SPEAKER 14 :
Because that’s very unifying.
SPEAKER 06 :
And you know what? It really gets unaffiliated voters excited about our party. Okay, here are some positive things. Now, for those who don’t know, first of all, the Colorado Republican Party right now has very low participation going on. And what I mean is this. We have tons of precinct leaders positions all across the state that are empty. We have nobody in them. We have district captain positions that are empty across counties and states. And we also have a very divided party. We have a lot of people who have checked out.
SPEAKER 14 :
Okay.
SPEAKER 06 :
Now, here’s a big problem. When you’re in a blue state like this, a lot of Republicans feel scattered and helpless, right? Everywhere they walk, they see blue, blue, blue, and they feel, my gosh, I’m alone. So here’s the very first thing I would do. I would launch a thing called You’ve Got Friends. And here’s how You’ve Got Friends works. Every single Republican in the state should get a letter from the Republican Party telling them how many Republicans are in the precinct right where they live. And let them know, hey, just so you know, there are this many Republicans in your precinct. Would you like to meet them? Would you like to meet them? Just say hi. And what you do is you get together a few precincts in every area. And this summer, I would have parties and picnics all across the state that are about you’ve got friends just to show them you’re not alone. You’ve got friends. You’ve got people right around you who feel the exact same as you do. It doesn’t matter if you’re pro-Dave, anti-Dave, don’t care about Dave. It doesn’t matter. You’re on the same team. OK, secondly, then we need to go to unaffiliates just so you know, we can track which ones vote much more right leaning. So we can send a letter out to them and say, you’ve got friends. You know, we know that you we know that you feel this way on these issues. Guess what? The Republican Party does, too. Would you like you know, you don’t have to change your registration. Stay stay as unaffiliated. But would you like to come to a party and just tell us what you think? have some parties, have some get-togethers. And from these, we can recruit and fill in a lot of those positions, but also get people more involved. And also, you’re talking about, even with Democrats, they agree with us on a lot of things. I think we should have a statewide, you’ve got friends push that says, you’re not alone, Republicans. And by the way, you’re not alone, unaffiliated. We’re going to do the opposite of telling you to get the hell off our lawn. We’re going to say, get on our lawn. And look at them and say, look, you want to vote in a primary? Come to ours, man, because if you believe in liberty, look, if you believe in individual liberty and you believe in getting to live your life the way you choose to live it, we believe in you. We agree with you. Welcome. Right. And that is what I would do. That’s one positive thing. Now, the other positive thing I would do is kind of what you were talking about. Stress all those areas where Trump, he’s up plus 15, plus 18, plus 20. Guys. We can go to the – drop the big three issues that you keep doing, the purge, the opt-out, and the election integrity, because nobody cares. They’re not – the market doesn’t want them. Right. Even if I agree – at times I agree with them, election integrity. But the market doesn’t want them. Drop that and look at these polls and say, oh, that’s what they want to hear about. And go to them and say, guess what? We just had 50 gang members taken off the streets by Trump. Aren’t you happy?
SPEAKER 05 :
Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER 06 :
You know, Tom Holman just, you know, got rid of this many rapists and thieves out of your community. Aren’t you happy? We just did this with your taxes, which is coming. Aren’t you happy? We just did this with energy. Aren’t you happy? Wouldn’t you like to have more of this in Colorado rather than walling out that red wave that’s going all across the country and making people happy? Wouldn’t you like that here? We do too.
SPEAKER 14 :
What do you think? No, I agree. I agree. Yeah. And that those are the things that we need to be focused on versus the things that we are right now.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah. Right now, I mean, my goodness. If Dave Williams becomes chair again, which is very possible, because they’re mobilizing troops. Once again, we’ve said this before with these assemblies and reorg meetings. What you can do is you can mobilize a very small group, but mobilize them everywhere and take them over. And that’s what happened in Arapahoe. It’s happened everywhere else. because they have a lot of power. Okay, if Dave gets elected again, if they manage to opt out, they’re going to burn our party to the ground in Colorado. At that point, our only hope is to rebuild out of the ashes. We’ve got to become a phoenix. I mean, that’s the only hope at that point. And the question is, yeah, but can you get them out then? Because if they take over again, here’s what they’re going to do. They’re going to spend the next two years seeding all those positions around the state, those voting positions, precinct leaders in every single county around the state with Davidians. They did a lot of that in my county. They’ve done it in several other counties. You’ve got Davidians, and I don’t even mean bad people. I love a lot of these people. I mean people who have bought into the spin because David doesn’t want them to hear the other side. So you’ve got Davidians in these positions. They will make sure that they can centralize their power. I don’t know if we can get them out after this. What do you think?
SPEAKER 14 :
I wish I had the answer to that. My feeling, and I’ve said this online, posted some different things on social media, and even said things on this program. They win again, it will be minimum, minimum, a decade. to get things back on track and that’s if you can actually get things back after it’s burned down so you’re really talking probably 12 years when it’s all said and done and even if you could somehow in this next cycle figure out a way to win let’s say dave and dave ites don’t win somebody else does depending upon who that person is their leadership qualities and so on you’re still half a decade away from cleaning things up in other words While 2026 should be in play, it’s going to be very hard to make enough. Not saying it can’t be dunks. I never want to say never, Andy. With the right leadership, do I feel like if Dave were to leave, somebody else comes in and really gets in gear moving forward for 2026, do I feel like we have potential to have some gains in 2026? Yes, but that’s a big if.
SPEAKER 06 :
That’s a big if. Once again, I’ve done the numbers. I won’t do them again. But we missed out on almost 60% of Trump’s red wave here in Colorado. We dramatically underperformed the national norm. Now, right now, nationally, Republicans are ahead of the Democrats minus 2 to minus 26. That’s a 24-point gap in plus-minus favorability. I’ve never seen that. If we can’t advance right now, John, if we can’t take advantage, if we can’t ride this wave, there’s no wave we can ride.
SPEAKER 14 :
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. I mean, we’re in the golden age. Which this won’t be posted anywhere because you won’t hear from them. But you’ll hear it here first because I’m a data guy. I like numbers. I look at numbers and do things like that all the time.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yes, you do.
SPEAKER 14 :
I just looked up the latest January statistics from the Secretary of State. And I didn’t look up December’s, but I had November’s already. So back in November, and you’re going to hear them tout this, we had about 1,016,000 and some change registered Republican voters, active and inactive. There’s two different categories when you look at the Secretary of State’s website. You have active and inactive. I added them together to come up with that number. So in November, you had roughly 1,016,074. As of January… You have 1,005,855, meaning we’ve dropped by about 11,000.
SPEAKER 06 :
That’s incredible.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yes, and you heard those numbers here first. And by the way, you can all go look at those yourself because they’re public. It’s right on the Secretary of State’s website. Just go look in at your party designations, and you can find those particular numbers. You download it into a spreadsheet, and all the numbers are right in front of you, and all you have to do is add. Sure.
SPEAKER 06 :
And once again, it’s amazing how they were bragging that there was a bump up at all, even temporarily, when you look at what’s going on nationwide. We took the lead in Nevada, John.
SPEAKER 14 :
So we’re just now just a shy above a million. And I would predict that by the time we get to springtime, we’ll be below that.
SPEAKER 06 :
Right, and we’re nowhere near the Democrats, and unaffiliateds are voting blue. It’s not good right now in Colorado, even during an incredible red wave. And once again, you’ve got to remember, look at Pennsylvania. Republicans closed the gap in Pennsylvanian registration by about a half a million, John.
SPEAKER 14 :
So Chuck, Julie, Ryan, I’ll watch. Please, because you will. You’ll answer in a podcast because that’s what you do. You answer a lot of what I cover.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah, but they take everything out of context and they lie.
SPEAKER 14 :
But please, please, please. Tell me why we dropped by 11,000. What’s your excuse?
SPEAKER 06 :
It’s because of you and me, John. We drove them away. You know why? Because we are too depressing. We are causing all the division. No, it’s not our state party that literally campaigned against its own candidates with state party resources. No, it’s us on the radio. What do you think?
SPEAKER 14 :
They probably say something along those lines, Andy. That wouldn’t shock me. Honestly, it would not shock me. But again, folks, data doesn’t lie. It’s why we bring it up here quite often. And you’ve already heard the Colorado GOP and the leadership there really come back and rebut some of the things that I have stated in regards to the FEC report. some of the things that are on there and what money they actually started with as far as a party goes and what they were left with and on and on we go. And they’ll say all sorts of things. By the way, I’ve never seen any actual. They say, well, we’ve got the receipts. You guys talk about those things, but I have yet to see any of you produce anything, any audited paper trail that proves me wrong.
SPEAKER 06 :
Do they ever admit the windfall that they got from presidential candidates?
SPEAKER 14 :
No.
SPEAKER 06 :
Which was not in any other year but this one.
SPEAKER 14 :
No, they don’t.
SPEAKER 06 :
Did they ever mention the windfall they got from Kevin McCarthy?
SPEAKER 14 :
No, they do not. Really? No, they do not.
SPEAKER 06 :
So they leave those out?
SPEAKER 14 :
Correct.
SPEAKER 06 :
Oh, my gosh.
SPEAKER 14 :
They don’t talk about any of that. They don’t talk about any of it. Incredible.
SPEAKER 06 :
Lying by omission.
SPEAKER 14 :
They come back and say, you’ll hear Hope say, we’ve got the receipts. Okay, show me. It’s a lot of rhetoric. It’s a lot of talk, a lot of jibber-jabber. But I’ve never seen a single audit trail of anything you guys talk about in regards to your financial woes that you took over the party with.
SPEAKER 06 :
Well, I guarantee you, once again, I think they’re going to win and retain power because they have flooded so many counties at the county level. But… If they don’t, the number one thing that they fear is an audit.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah, just like the Democrats fear Doge going through the checkbook of the Treasury. Oh, yeah. They don’t like that either. Nobody likes to be held accountable, Andy. That’s the problem.
SPEAKER 06 :
Right, because Doge isn’t just saying, this $78 million here was being wasted. They’re saying it was being wasted because this senator wanted it.
SPEAKER 14 :
They show who it’s tied to. Yeah, that and there weren’t checks and balances. And if they were, they weren’t followed and, and, and. All right, we’ll come back. Ridgeline Auto Brokers is next. It’s time to leave your safe space. This is Rush to Reason on KLZ 560.
SPEAKER 14 :
All right, we are back. Rush to Reason, Denver’s Afternoon Rush, KLZ 560. And as we close out today’s program, and we didn’t really answer the question, you know, what do we feel? We’ve got a few minutes here. We can do this. What do we feel are some of the most important things for Coloradans when it comes to, you know, moving things forward? And I get it. Everybody comes from a little different perspective, and you’d have to do some fact-finding to really figure out what really are important, you know, what are the important things to people. But we already know property taxes is a huge issue. Big. Has been, going to be. They haven’t done anything to really lower them. That’s a huge issue for both sides of the aisle.
SPEAKER 06 :
And by the way, it’s a big winning issue for Republicans.
SPEAKER 14 :
Absolutely. Right now, believe it or not, and this might change, but probably won’t anytime soon, believe it or not, eggs and just grocery prices… In general. Huge issue.
SPEAKER 06 :
And one other thing. Plastic bags.
SPEAKER 14 :
Right. Plastic bags. I mean, all those things kind of combine together. Those are big issues for people because it’s affecting their daily lives. So I just rattled off two things that are huge. And I’m sure I could come up with another half a dozen. But really, all we need as conservatives, as Republicans in this particular case, is about the top three or four issues that you really get your candidates to start really running on. And I get it. There’s differences in each category. area you know rule versus city and so on and i get that and that’s where you can kind of add some of those little different nuances in that you have to add in for the different areas that they happen to be running in but get the same message out across the world because by the way that’s what the democrats do john what if you told people okay imagine a republican grocery store you can use all the bags you want you your eggs are going to be much cheaper and
SPEAKER 06 :
OK, those those two things are guaranteed. And then maybe you can list one or two other things. OK, describe what it’s like to go to a Republican grocery store. And that would hit people right up front.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah, give them what they need.
SPEAKER 06 :
You’d be free.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah, give them what they need in their daily lives. And on top of that, and I know this one’s more divisive, and of course, keep in mind, the hardcore lefties, that 30%, you’re never going to reach anyway. So we’re talking about reaching the unaffiliated and Republican voters that may kind of be in the middle or wherever they happen to be. And I know some would say, well, they’re not really Republican if they’re in the middle. Bear with me, okay? I’m just talking about getting voters united so we can actually win elections moving forward. Transportation in Colorado, rural areas, local, doesn’t matter. The reality is transportation is a big deal. Rural areas are complaining because money doesn’t get spent on roads like it should be. The metro area, they complain because we have all sorts of programs that don’t help out when it comes to traffic and congestion and things along those lines. We build bike paths, as Dan was talking about earlier, from bike paths. We do all sorts of stupid things with the money except what we should be. which is actually fixing the things that we already have and adding lane miles and so on. Last but not least, a big deal to Coloradans for most of them, if it’s explained correctly, is Tabor. And there’s a lot of talk right now in regards to the left does nothing but try to eliminate Tabor over and over and over again. So talk to them how important that is, how we can balance our budget, how we can cut spending in areas like Doge is doing, where we shouldn’t be spending money anyways, and let’s get Colorado back on track and make it great again. Yep. Don, there’s your campaign speech.
SPEAKER 06 :
John, you can put out a questionnaire to people in every area and find any road that is well known in the area as being a bottleneck. Out my way, it’s Gun Club. And you can say, what would you rather have along there? new bike lanes or extra lanes, extra car lanes, and just take the numbers in. The numbers are going to come back way in favor of car lanes, and then just use that and say, okay, here’s what Colorado voters say. Why won’t the governor listen? Right.
SPEAKER 14 :
Exactly. Colorado voters want more lanes. And by the way, folks, when I’m saying this, I’m talking about you’ve got a Senate race coming up. You’ve got a governor race coming up. You’ll have other local races at that point that will be coming up in 2026. You’ve got all sorts of things that will be happening at that point in time. And I’m here to tell you that, unfortunately, because of where we are right now, I had somebody text me that, oh, wow, you know, look at what’s happening with the big gun bill that’s going through. And we really need to do our best and go down to the Capitol and so on and so forth. And while all that’s important and I admire all the people that do and I love the fact that you’re doing it and maybe that’ll make a difference. Although I hate to say this, it probably won’t. Right. Because the reality is you’ve got so many Democrats dead set on moving that forward, even though it’s unconstitutional when it’s all said and done. And, yes, it will be fought all the way to the Supreme Court, and our tax dollars will go to defend that, which is, in my mind, absolutely ludicrous. Right. There needs to be a bill passed that basically says, if you know darn good and well this is an unconstitutional bill or unconstitutional law when it’s all said and done, you’re not allowed to run it. We should have that as a state. Right. And, by the way, that would be one of the things I would run on if I were running. Yeah.
SPEAKER 06 :
Oh, I totally agree. Once again, as you said earlier in the show, we have to focus on we got to win elections. You don’t win elections. You don’t govern. We the Republican leadership right now in Colorado is content to be one big activist. Right. We’re activists. We protest elections. We protest this at the Capitol. We protest that at the Capitol. Doesn’t matter. They won the elections. They have the numbers at the Capitol. And guess what? They don’t care how many speeches you make about guns, even though I totally agree with you.
SPEAKER 14 :
I agree as well. But unfortunately, when the numbers are the way they are, I’m sorry. I’m not trying to be rude here. It doesn’t matter.
SPEAKER 06 :
It doesn’t matter. Sorry.
SPEAKER 14 :
No.
SPEAKER 06 :
You see, you’ve got a whole state of people who want more lanes, right? Who want so many things that we talk about. They want more lanes, they want cheaper eggs. And by the way, they also love what Trump’s doing on immigration and several other things. And what are they talking about? The big three, right? Hunting rhinos, closing primaries.
SPEAKER 14 :
And one of the last things I think is important to most people in Colorado, whether you’re rural or in the city, is really quick, is also the homeless situation we have going on here. That needs a huge cleanup. Yes. People would buy into that. Doesn’t matter what side of the aisle that you’re on. Homelessness is a big deal. And if you can figure out a way to, you know, have a solution for that, it’s a win. Yes. And here’s why I can tell you that, folks. In Arvada, which, by the way, is pretty liberal. I know because I live over in that area. Pretty liberal. Well, the residents there spoke loud and clear because the city was trying to take over an old building and turn it into basically a homeless get-together place where they could transition people and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Bottom line, residents came out and said, we don’t want that in our backyard. In fact, we want these people gone. We don’t want them here at all. City Council basically said, hmm, I guess we’re going to have to sell that building now. My point is, Andy, even in liberal areas, that’s an issue, and people will get behind that if you have a solution. Right. So our Colorado GOP leadership needs to listen to some of those things and get off their high horse and figure out how to win. But I know I’m talking to deaf ears.
SPEAKER 06 :
Bottom line, their priorities are the opposite of the market.
SPEAKER 14 :
I know. I know. Andy, thanks. Have a great evening, by the way, everybody. Be safe out there. I’ll be back tomorrow, Health and Wellness Wednesday. Enjoy your night. Rush to Reason, Denver’s Afternoon Rush, KLZ 560.
