SPEAKER 02 :
If you focus exactly on loving the life that you’re living right now, and not the life that you think you could have had or should have had, that’s the whole deal right there.

SPEAKER 19 :
Welcome to the Mike Gallagher Show Week in Review podcast. I’m Eric Hansen. It’s Friday, October 10th, 2025. This week, there’s peace in the Middle East. Plus, a former footballer flips out, a candidate condones violence, and we’re all in for Curtis. Let’s begin with a milestone that many thought would never happen.
SPEAKER 18 :
This is a day that millions have prayed for. the longest and deadliest war in the century-old Israeli-Palestinian conflict may very well be about to end. The world is waking up to an agreement between Israel and Hamas, an historic peace agreement. And there are days when it’s important to to watch how the mainstream Trump-hating media is covering an event like this. There are times when it matters to hear ABC’s Martha Raddatz at a time like this. Because I know that a lot of people say, oh, you tune into the Mike Gallagher show. He’s a Republican. He’s a Trump supporter. He’s biased. And there are people that, like it or not, turn to the Washington Post or the New York Times or CNN or ABC because they think they’ll get maybe some more objectivity. If you believe that, and if that’s how you feel, allow me to share with you ABC’s Martha Raddatz on this Gaza peace deal.
SPEAKER 04 :
Tell us about the role President Trump played in bringing all of this about.
SPEAKER 05 :
Well, Robin, there’s no question that if this goes as planned, if we see those remaining hostages freed and Israel begin its withdrawal, it is a remarkable achievement. And President Trump most certainly deserves credit for his role. He has done this through diplomacy, pressure and the sheer force of his personality and persistence he dispatched. diplomats again and again made threats just in the last few days to Hamas, saying again, if they did not sign the deal, all hell would break loose. And they had the bombing of Iran as an example of that. But perhaps most importantly, he pushed Benjamin Netanyahu in ways his predecessor and others have not, Robin.
SPEAKER 04 :
And what finally got the two sides to this point? And will it be able to get phase two off the ground?
SPEAKER 05 :
Well, you know, Robin, throughout this process, President Trump never wavered in his support for Israel. But when Netanyahu ignored much of what Trump was trying to accomplish by continuing to bomb over the last few months, Trump laid down the hammer with Netanyahu, essentially saying enough is enough. Trump had also told Netanyahu that he was opening indirect negotiations with the Iranians, which put even more pressure on the Israeli prime minister. Obviously, the coming days will prove whether the rest of the plan comes to fruition. But if those hostages are freed, which would leave Hamas without their major bargaining tool, this is a huge moment for Donald Trump.
SPEAKER 18 :
Someone get that lady a red MAGA hat. Pronto. And liberals and Trump haters have to see a report like that on Good Morning America and say, my world is upside down. Wait a minute. You do know tomorrow is the deadline for the Nobel Peace Prize. We’ll know by 5 a.m. Eastern time tomorrow morning if the Nobel Peace Prize committee is going to nominate the only person that could be nominated, Donald J. Trump. And if and when that happens… How are the Trump haters going to explain that one away? They gave the Nobel Peace Prize to a fascist? Wow. You know, and I shouldn’t be political today, but I can’t help myself, I guess. I am so grateful. and mixed emotions. Can you imagine the families of people who were murdered two years ago? What they must be going through, the unimaginable grief they must be experiencing, knowing, gosh, if only, if only, if only.
SPEAKER 19 :
We head to New York City where we believe, despite the odds, Curtis Sliwa is the best choice for May.
SPEAKER 18 :
Curtis is the right answer for New York. Everybody knows it. You want to talk about fixing the crime problem in New York? You want to clean up the streets? You want to have more or less of the onerous taxation without representation, incidentally? And I was talking to Mark this morning, and it just hit me between the eyes. Me saying, well, the pragmatic part of me thinks that Curtis ought to step down and let Cuomo and Mamdani fight it out, blah, blah, blah. You know what that’s like? And this is it was like a voice in my head just screaming at me. Hey, Gallagher, you know what you’re saying? That would be like saying in 2016, all the polls said that Hillary is unbeatable. There’s no way Trump can win, even though I prefer Trump. I’ll vote for Hillary because she’s the more likely victor. It’s exactly the same thing. Cuomo shouldn’t even be dog catcher. Guy’s a disgrace. He’s an embarrassment. And you can’t just say, well, Curtis is the real deal. So I appreciate all the comments. Here’s Michigan writes, hey, congratulations, Mike. We only hope people will wake up. This is the American way, Arizona. Mike, kudos once again to you and to Mark, your friend, for helping to change your mind. You know, it was just… It was time, and I blew it. I was wrong in even wavering at all, and I am sorry. I really am. I hope to have a chance maybe to talk to Curtis in person this week on this show. And thanks to all, again, the comments on the MyPillow text line brought to you by MyPillow with some great news. The MyPillow six-piece bath towel sets are back in stock. I shared with you the hellscape that the Subways are in. They’ve got these little fans over the bars to try to stop people from jumping the turnstiles because the leadership here in New York doesn’t want to prosecute criminals because Democrats don’t prosecute bad guys. Here’s Zohran Mamdani’s empty promises to people who want free stuff.
SPEAKER 13 :
So what we are releasing today is the cost-saved calculator, where you can go to Zohran for NYC.com forward slash calculator and see just how much each of these big three items will save you in your lives. Because when it comes to free buses, each rider will save over $2,000 a year. That’s $1.3 billion a year for all riders. When it comes to universal childcare, we’re speaking about $22,200 a year, which together is $5.5 billion. for every New Yorker across the city. And when it comes to a rent freeze, we are speaking about $1,750 saved every single year. And together that amounts to more than $1.7 billion in its first year. These are the figures that add up in the lives of New Yorkers. These are the figures that together would save the people of the city more than $8 billion. Free.
SPEAKER 18 :
There is no free. And he knows it. What he’s going to do is tax people who’ve had financial success so that people who have succeeded and achieved a degree of financial success in life will pay the bus fares for the same people who are often evading fares today and jumping over the turnstiles. Because they’re deadbeats and they think they can get away with it. And Democrats have let them get away with it. So he sits there with his smile and his TikTok videos and says, free buses, rent freezes, free child care, free, free, free. Look how much you’re going to save without admitting who’s going to actually foot the bill. Guy’s a disaster and everybody. But look, it was Rush Limbaugh. The late great Rush Limbaugh, who years ago said it’s real hard to beat Santa Claus.
SPEAKER 19 :
The attorney general appeared before Congress this week, and she did not roll over for the Democrats on the panel.
SPEAKER 18 :
Here’s a little montage. This clip number one is courtesy of our friends over at Grabian. Put together a little bit of a snippet of what it sounded like and what it looked like when Pam Bondi was testifying yesterday before the U.S. Senate.
SPEAKER 08 :
You would have been fired because you were censured by Congress for lying.
SPEAKER 21 :
We can stipulate to you can stipulate to all your personal attacks on the Democratic members of the committee.
SPEAKER 08 :
Personal attacks. You’ve been attacking my FBI director. You’ve been attacking my office.
SPEAKER 21 :
You’ve been attacking. But what we’re interested in. It borders off. What we’re interested in is the answer to these oversight questions. You want your oversight. You want your five minutes of fame attacking good people.
SPEAKER 08 :
Operation Arctic Frost was an unconstitutional, undemocratic abuse of power. During Arctic Frost, the FBI also placed 92 linked Republican individuals and Republican groups, such as Charlie Kirk’s Turning Point. on their list. This is the kind of conduct that shattered the American people’s faith in our government. We are ending this weaponization. I have to show to get the phone records of a sitting United States senator. You would have to have cause.
SPEAKER 03 :
Can you tell me why my phone records, when I’m the chairman of the Judiciary Committee, were sought by the Jack Smith agents? Do you think that was an abuse of power?
SPEAKER 08 :
Senator, I cannot discuss whether there is or is not an ongoing investigation. Senator Blumenthal, I find it so interesting that you didn’t bring any of this up during President Biden’s administration when he was doing everything to protect Hunter Biden, his son. And I think you just saw what Director Radcliffe just released.
SPEAKER 03 :
You know, this is an effort to be positive.
SPEAKER 08 :
If I can finish answering the question, I’m not going to yell over you. I’m not going to get in the gutter with you. But information… Information that the Biden administration told them not to investigate Hunter Biden’s involvement with Ukraine. Let me lecture to you about integrity by someone who lied about being in the military just to be elected a senator.
SPEAKER 16 :
I think it’s been confirmed.
SPEAKER 18 :
You can stop it right there. That was my favorite moment. When she tells Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut, I’m not going to be lectured to by somebody who lied about serving in the military in order to get elected senator. I will never understand any American who would pull the lever in a ballot box and in a voting booth for a man who was caught by the New York Times lying about serving in Vietnam. And he’s going to lecture her? Adam Schiff is going to lecture Pam Bondi? Now, how upset was the left? over Pam Bondi’s testimony yesterday? Check out Nicole Wallace, clip two. Here’s Nicole Wallace melting down over on MSNBC.
SPEAKER 06 :
What Attorney General Pam Bondi said before the members of the Senate Judiciary Committee this afternoon may very well go down as one of the most brazen, most shameless, most verifiably false statements ever uttered in that setting. Quote, the two-tiered system of justice is over. In fact, if Bondi’s on-the-record testimony today served to prove anything out in public, anything at all, it is that a two-tiered system of justice has very much been operationalized, is the new reality in the United States of America right now.
SPEAKER 18 :
So here’s the MSNBC reality. Nicole Wallace believes that Pam Bondi pushing back against Democrats like Shifty Schiff and stolen Valor Blumenthal, that’s brazen and shameless. Not the FBI’s Arctic Frost. Not an operation that apparently spied on and secured phone records for Republicans in Congress. Representative Mike Kelly, Senator Lindsey Graham, Senator Bill Hagerty, Senator Josh Hawley, Dan Sullivan, Tommy Tuberville, Ron Johnson, Cynthia Loomis, Marsha Blackburn. FBI records request that was approved by a grand jury. Yeah, that part isn’t shameless or brazen to Nicole Wallace. She doesn’t mind Republican senators being spied on by Jack Smith and the FBI. And look, you could see and hear Lindsey Graham. He is livid.
SPEAKER 19 :
Democrats display a disturbing propensity to condone violence against their perceived enemies. The Democratic candidate for Virginia’s attorney general took it to another level.
SPEAKER 18 :
I think it’s safe to say that today’s Democrat Party has now enthusiastically embraced political violence, killing their opponents, right? That’s fair, isn’t it? Isn’t it okay to acknowledge that today’s Democrats who won’t renounce the Virginia Democrat Attorney General candidate, Jay Jones, who once… opined and waxed nostalgic about putting two bullets into the head of a Republican leader and watching children die in the arms of their MAGA parents. Since no Democrat is denouncing that, really, and all the Democrats in Virginia are still with him, is it fair to say now that today’s Democrat Party is the party of political violence? And I think the bigger question is, were Democrats always this way? Or have they evolved? I’m honest. Look, I took a couple of days off thanks to Joey Hudson for guest hosting. And I heartily recommend what I did. I normally take time off and go somewhere and do something. Try to spend time with my kids or my granddaughter, friends. But when you take time off and you go travel or do something, you’re still doing something. I needed just kind of to clear my head for a few days. There’s been a lot going on. I’m blessed with vacation days. Why not use them? I never take my vacation days. You know, the company has always been very gracious and generous with days off for me, and I never use them. That’s probably why they give me so many, because they know it’s a smart bargain on their part. So I thought, you know what? end of September, Joey’s ready to go, I’ll take a few days, I’ll clear my head, I’ll sleep in, I’ll watch football, I’ll kick my feet up, and I’ll just take a break. Okay? So I did. I took a break for a few days, always staying plugged in, because you have to in this job, and I’m sitting here today in a state of absolute shock at what today’s Democrats are have become. What today’s Democrats have become is almost inconceivable to a normal person, which has got to be good news for us electorally. But what I worry about, it might be fine for us to have this political victory that today’s Democrats have turned into a bunch of violent, loving lunatics. that no one’s going to want to vote for. But on the other hand, how bad is it for the country? How terrible is it for America? Let’s be honest here. These are our neighbors. These are people we work with. These are people we’ve got to share space with in this vast, complicated country. The Virginia Democrat candidate for Attorney General a fellow by the name of Jay Jones, who wants to be Virginia’s top cop. He wants to be the Attorney General. He once remarked, and I’m just reading here, he once remarked on shooting the Virginia House Speaker in texts with another lawmaker. Texts obtained by reporters… show an August 22 conversation between Jones and another lawmaker after the death of a 90-year-old Democrat named Joe Johnson. Del Joe Johnson. At the time, several House Republicans, including leadership, had offered eulogizing words for the guy, right? Jay Johnson said, if those guys die before me, I will go to their funerals to pee on their graves. He used a different P word, but I want to try to clean it up a little bit. Send them out awash in something. And then he said, three people, two bullets. Gilbert, Hitler, and Pol Pot. Gilbert, the Virginia Republican he’s referring to, gets two bullets in the head. Now, obviously that’s – he also went on to wish violence on the children of one of his colleagues. He wants the children of one of his Republican colleagues to be killed too. Now, obviously, in a normal world, that’s disqualifying. If the guy had a shred of decency, he’d throw in the towel and realize, I’m not fit to be dog catcher in Norfolk, Virginia, much less attorney general for the state. But he doesn’t. There’s always MyPillow Christmas gifts under the tree in anything Gallagher family related. You’ve helped MyPillow and their employees in these tough times. Mike knows it, and he always wants to give back with deals on his most popular products. The MyPillow six-piece bath towel sets are back in stock. Now, this is a proprietary technology that makes the towels amazingly absorbent. I first heard about the towels from Peg and Joey. They said, you can’t believe it. These towels actually work. Now, they’re regularly $69.98, two bath towels, two hand towels, two washcloths, $69.98, but for a limited time. When you enter the promo code MikeG at the Mike Gallagher Specials Square, just $39.98. A six-piece towel set that you will just be amazed at the absorbency. So go to MyPillow.com. Look for the Mike Gallagher Special Square. Click on that box, and with anything you order, enter the promo code MikeG. MyPillow.com, promo code MikeG for this special offer and many, many more. The towels, the sheets, the pillows, the doggy beds, the slippers. Oh, boy, the slippers. MyPillow.com, promo code MikeG, or call 800-928-6034, 800-928-6034, like we love to sing. For the best night’s sleep in the whole wide world, visit MyPillow.com.
SPEAKER 19 :
This is the Mike Gallagher Show Week in Review podcast. This was an odd story out of Indianapolis over the weekend. Former New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez was stabbed and then arrested in a late night altercation. Now, what exactly is going on?
SPEAKER 18 :
I want to get to a story that we didn’t cover yesterday. Big cover today in the New York Post. My favorite newspaper in America. And yes, I still love to read newspapers. It’s so funny. Christian and Eric, these guys today in New York, are like, you want your papers? Because I love papers. I love the Post. Look at the cover. If you’re watching here on Salem News Channel today, you’ll see it in big, bold headlines. Snapped. Why did nice guy Mark Sanchez end up mad and bleeding on an Indianapolis street at midnight? Look, this is an almost impossible story to follow. They’ve got security footage of the former Jets quarterback, Mark Sanchez, who’s now a big commentator on, I think he’s on Fox, right guys? He’s like a commentator, an NFL broadcaster, and he was in Indy for a game. gets into an argument with a 60-something-year-old truck driver because the guy’s got his truck parked at a loading dock, which evidently is where it was supposed to be. But Mark Sanchez, who was allegedly drunk as a skunk, gets into an altercation with the guy. Have you seen the pictures of the guy in the hospital? The guy’s got his face split wide open. Sanchez evidently, and this guy get into it, and the guy tries to pepper spray Sanchez to defend himself. That doesn’t work. So he stabbed him a couple of times. Mark Sanchez could have died. He was admitted to the hospital in critical condition. And then winds up getting arrested. Arrested. So… Look, I don’t know how to get into the X’s and O’s of this altercation, but here’s what I do know. And I see this every day here in New York or when I’m back in Florida or anywhere I travel around the country. There is so much anger right now in America. People are turning on each other and it is kind of wild. I always have a rule. The rule I have is Count to ten. I think about road rage all the time. I think about fights. I think about people arguing with each other on the subway or bumping into one another in the mall. And before you know it, somebody’s dead. To me, the takeaway of the Mark Sandler, and I want you to join me here. Fill up my phone lines. You know me, love loaded lines. It’s Tuesday, October 7th. We’ve got a lot to cover here in the Relief Factor Studios. Our number is 800-655-MIKE. To me, the only takeaway, the most important takeaway is this. Count to 10. Think that the other person might have the ability to kill you. Consider before you start yelling at a stranger over getting cut off on the highway or bumped into on an elevator. Consider the fact that before you get into an argument with that person, that person might be himself unhinged, and he might have a gun or a knife, and your life’s going to be over. And you’re going to leave your wife a widow. You’re going to leave your kids without a dad. You’re going to leave your children without a mother, whatever it is. There is just so much anger. And there is a lesson here. The lesson is, take a breath. It isn’t worth it. Life is short. Don’t shorten it because you’re in some stupid road rage argument with a truck driver in Indianapolis.
SPEAKER 19 :
The governor of Illinois and the mayor of Chicago pushed back against President Trump’s efforts to clean up that city. Why are they so unwilling to protect their citizens?
SPEAKER 18 :
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers who have been exposed to all kinds of attacks and violence. In fact, the United States Attorney General Pam Bondi is currently on Capitol Hill testifying before Democrats and Republicans about the ICE officers who are out there daily doing their job, being harmed, being targeted. Check out this exchange moments ago between the AG, Pam Bondi, and Dick Durbin, the Democrat senator from Illinois.
SPEAKER 16 :
The word is, and I think it’s been confirmed by the White House, they are going to transfer Texas National Guard units to the state of Illinois. What’s the rationale for that?
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah, Chairman, as you shut down the government, you voted to shut down the government, and you’re sitting here, our law enforcement officers aren’t being paid. They’re out there working to protect you. I wish you loved Chicago as much as you hate President Trump. And currently, the National Guard are on the way to Chicago. If you’re not going to protect your citizens, President Trump will.
SPEAKER 18 :
Wow, that’s Pam Bondi sort of brushing back against Dick Durbin’s loaded questions. Here was Jesse Waters last night, cut number two. If Democrats, look, if you don’t like immigration laws, get the laws fixed. Try to win an election.
SPEAKER 21 :
So ICE has every right to enforce immigration law. It’s the same immigration law that Congress wrote. If Democrats don’t like the law, they can change it. Or they can win an election. And they can put the ICE agents back on the bench where they were for four years. You cannot nullify federal immigration law through anti-ICE zones, violence. You can’t do it. It’s Confederate action. And… The federal government has every right to deploy federal resources to protect federal action that’s being obstructed.
SPEAKER 18 :
You know, I admit to being a little bit naive. I naively thought that after Charlie Kirk was assassinated, that the left would back off of their horrific rhetoric against law enforcement. the horrific rhetoric they’ve used against the Trump administration, the horrific rhetoric they use against Republicans and conservatives in general. But no, it’s almost like they’ve been emboldened to get even worse. They’re doubling down. Check out one of these yapping shrews on ABC’s The View. I give you Joy Behar in all of her glory and splendor.
SPEAKER 12 :
She’s threatening to go to the Super Bowl when Bad Bunny is there and round up all these people that are illegal immigrants. Do you think that she would go if it was Garth Brooks or Eminem or Taylor Swift or any other white person?
SPEAKER 14 :
Let me understand what you’re saying, because she’s going to go to the Super Bowl and round up. How’s she going to know who’s who?
SPEAKER 12 :
Because the Supreme Court has given permission to question anyone who has a Spanish accent or has a dark skin. Yeah, so here’s the thing.
SPEAKER 14 :
Here’s the thing. Everybody, get a little cocoa butter, sit in the sun. That’s the first thing. And then, and this is the only time you can probably ever do this, give yourself a Latin accent.
SPEAKER 12 :
You know, Whoopi, that is such a good idea. And just seeing… And seeing… If she can tell who’s who. During the Nazi occupation, there was one country, I believe it was Denmark or Norway, one of those, where everybody put the Jewish star on. And they didn’t know who was Jewish and who was not.
SPEAKER 18 :
So what you’re saying is very smart. We’re all illegals now, right, Joy? We’re all illegals. We should all put on makeup and talk with a Latin accent, says that Rhodes Scholar. Whoopi Goldberg. Of course, I love how I sit here and make fun of how stupid they are. They’re making a lot more money than I am. They’ve figured out a great gig.
SPEAKER 19 :
Republicans and Democrats don’t see eye to eye on much of anything these days. But one thing we can all agree on, nobody likes Kamala Harris.
SPEAKER 18 :
I wonder why the mainstream media doesn’t have any doesn’t have a shred of integrity in calling out the lie that Kamala Harris continues to regurgitate about the 2024 election. Check this out. Here she was again.
SPEAKER 06 :
And here’s the other thing that is quite unprecedented. And it was the tightest, closest presidential…
SPEAKER 18 :
screeching like a lunatic that he doesn’t have a mandate because the election was the closest, tightest race in the 21st century. How do you keep saying that? Well, thankfully, there are some common sense broadcasters who’ve noticed this unbelievable lie that Cackles continues to spout. His name is Bill Maher from over there on HBO.
SPEAKER 20 :
Kamala Harris’s new memoir of the 24 election is called 107 Days, but it should have been called Everyone Sucks But Me. 107 days is a victim’s title because, get it, she only had 107 days to win. Yeah, and a billion and a half dollars. And a built-in army of about 75 million people who’d vote for any human-adjacent life form that wasn’t Trump. But in 107 days, nothing is ever Kamala’s fault. Biden lets her down by not stepping down sooner. Pouty face emoji. Gavin Newsom, he was asked for his endorsement, but texted, hiking will call back. But then never did. And then he didn’t even ask her to prom. America, America itself lets Kamala down by not being ready for the running mate she really wanted, Pete Buttigieg. So she’s stuck with the Home Depot paint salesman. And the rest is herstory. Pork… Poor Kamala. We made her the star of a rom-com and didn’t even give her a gay best friend. Kamala writes that on election night, when it was clear she lost, an aide peeled the words Madam President off the cupcakes before handing them out.
SPEAKER 07 :
Oh.
SPEAKER 20 :
Oh, geez, that’s like a scene from Bridget Jones runs for president.
SPEAKER 18 :
To watch the universe turn on Democrats. I mean, even Kirsten Welker yesterday on NBC’s Meet the Press. Check out what Kirsten Welker. Now, you know, she’s a lefty. She’s obviously part of the media establishment. She even calls out the Democrats over their government shutdown hypocrisy.
SPEAKER 09 :
But let me ask you, because you say this is a Republican shutdown, but it’s Democratic senators who are withholding their votes on what is called a clean resolution. That means no strings attached, which is something, quite frankly, leader, that you and other Democrats have advocated for in the past. Take a look. You do not use the threat of shutting down government to try to advance your policy agenda.
SPEAKER 12 :
First thing that the House has to do is pass a clean six-week CR.
SPEAKER 01 :
A continuing resolution that is at the fiscal year 2023 levels is the only way forward.
SPEAKER 19 :
And finally, the California governor’s race may be a year away, but that didn’t stop the front-running Democrat from snapping on camera.
SPEAKER 18 :
And Katie Porter. She was the piece of work. You might remember, I heard Chris Stegall this morning kept calling her potato head. And I thought, what’s he calling her potato head for? Well, it has to do with a divorce proceeding that she had a number of years ago in which her ex-husband… said that she poured scalding hot mashed potatoes on his head during an argument. That was according to the New York Post. Well, the interview that she gave yesterday to KOVR-TV, local reporter named Julie Watts, this is from the Sacramento affiliate in California. The way this is described over at the Gateway Pundit is so funny. Now, understand, this local reporter, Julie Watts, interviewed 11 candidates. This is a big, crowded field of Republicans and Democrats running for the primary next year, which will be June 2nd. The two top candidates. Vote getters on June 2nd, regardless of party, advanced to the general election on November the 3rd. So this reporter is just going through her list of questions that she asked all the gubernatorial candidates in California. However, Katie Porter, and remember, the frontrunner to be California’s next governor, she took exception to the line of questioning from the Sacramento TV reporter.
SPEAKER 11 :
What do you say to the 40 percent of California voters who you’ll need in order to win who voted for Trump?
SPEAKER 10 :
How would I need them in order to win?
SPEAKER 11 :
Well, unless you think you’re going to get 60 percent of the vote, you think you’ll get 60 percent. All everybody who did not vote for Trump will vote for you.
SPEAKER 10 :
That’s what you’re in a general election. Yes. If it is me versus a Republican, I think that I will win the people who did not vote for Trump. What if it’s you versus another Democrat? I don’t intend that to be the case. So how do you not intend that to be the case? Are you going to ask them not to run? No, no. I’m saying I’m going to build the support. I have the support already in terms of name recognition. And so I’m going to do the very best I can to make sure that we get through this primary in a really strong position. But let me be clear with you. I represented Orange County. I represented a purple area. I have stood on my own two feet and won Republican votes before. That It’s not something every candidate in this race can say. If you’re from a deep blue area, if you’re from L.A. or you’re from Oakland, you don’t have an experience. But you just said you don’t need those Trump voters. Well, you asked me if I needed them to win. I feel like this is unnecessarily argumentative. What is your question?
SPEAKER 11 :
The question is the same thing I ask everybody, that this is being called the empowering voters to stop Trump’s power grab. Every other candidate has answered this question. This is not correct. And I said I support it. So and the question is, what do you say to the 40 percent of voters who voted for Trump?
SPEAKER 10 :
Oh, I’m happy to say that it’s the do you need them to win part that I don’t understand. I’m happy to answer the question as you have it written and I’ll answer it.
SPEAKER 11 :
And we’ve also asked the other candidates, do you think you need any of those 40% of California voters to win? And you’re saying, no, you don’t.
SPEAKER 10 :
No, I’m saying I’m going to try to win every vote I can. And what I’m saying to you is that… Well, to those voters. Okay, so you… I don’t want to keep doing this. I’m going to call it. Thank you. You’re not going to do the interview with us? Nope, not like this. I’m not. Not with seven follow-ups to every single question you ask.
SPEAKER 11 :
Every other candidate has answered our follow-ups.
SPEAKER 10 :
I don’t care. I don’t care. I want to have a pleasant, positive conversation with you. Ask me about every issue on this list. And if every question you’re going to make up a follow up question, then we’re never going to get there. And we’re just going to circle around. I am an investigative reporter.
SPEAKER 11 :
I have never had to do this before, ever. You’ve never had to have a conversation with a reporter?
SPEAKER 10 :
To end an interview. Okay, but every other candidate has done this. What part of, I’m me. I’m running for governor because I’m a leader. So I am going to make.
SPEAKER 11 :
So you’re not going to answer questions from reporters? Okay, why don’t we go through. I will continue to ask follow-up questions because that’s my job as a journalist. But I will go through and ask these. And if you don’t want to answer, you don’t want to answer. Okay. So nearly every legislative… I don’t want to have an unhappy experience with you.
SPEAKER 10 :
And I don’t want this all on camera.
SPEAKER 11 :
I don’t want to have an unhappy experience with you either. I would love to continue to ask these questions so that we can show our viewers what every candidate feels about every one of these issues that they care about. And redistricting is a massive issue. We’re going to do an entire story just on the responses to that question.
SPEAKER 17 :
That’s the frontrunner. That’s the frontrunner.
SPEAKER 19 :
