Join John and Bill as they debunk common myths surrounding AI in both the church and tech worlds. Armed with personal anecdotes and insightful analogies, they delve into how AI compares to traditional methods of research and information gathering. Hear how AI can drastically reduce research time, making it an indispensable tool for the modern tradesperson, and the importance of pairing this technology with real-world experience. This episode is a must-listen for anyone interested in the intersection of technology, preparation, and practical life skills.
SPEAKER 03 :
This is Ready Radio, preparing you to be ready for anything. Now, here’s your survival guide for Ready Radio, John Rush. All right, it is another episode of Ready Radio, KLZ 560. June the 27th, the year is rolling right along. Bill Anderson joining me today. Bill, welcome. How are you?
SPEAKER 10 :
Doing okay. How are you guys?
SPEAKER 03 :
I’m good. Surviving the—it’s not quite as hot this week as last.
SPEAKER 10 :
It’s still hot, John.
SPEAKER 03 :
It is hot. But it’s not, you know, last week it was almost 100. It’s not, what is it, 88. So a little less. But again, some of this is going to fit into what we’re going to talk about today as well. And one of the things that for all of you listening, we wanted to cover because it’s becoming more and more, how should I say this, Bill? user-friendly maybe is the right way to say it, and that’s AI, chat GPT in this particular situation. And how can that actually help you put together your own list and the things that you need when it comes to a quote-unquote end-of-the-world scenario? And I know you’ve – I’ve played with it quite a bit. I know you have as well.
SPEAKER 10 :
Yeah, and when it first came out, I was actually a little hesitant about it, to be honest with you, because when you – introduce or you start talking about AI in the church world, everybody’s all like, oh, that’s the mark of the beast, that’s of the devil, that’s this, you know, that’s all of that. And so I hesitantly started looking into it, you know, just to be honest. And I think there’s a lot of people that still may have that mindset of, you know, hey, this is not good. This is, you know, I love they always, everything that comes out new is the mark of the beast, right?
SPEAKER 03 :
Right. Barcodes. By the way, the anniversary of the barcode was yesterday. I forgot to mention that on air, but on Thursday was the anniversary of the first scanned item, which I believe was a pack of Wrigley’s gum, if I’m not mistaken, in Charlie’s hometown here. So there you go. That was in Ohio, Bill.
SPEAKER 10 :
Yeah. Yeah. It’s always whatever new, whether it’s the monster drink or, you know, the the chips they’re trying to put into people, and that just comes from ignorance. And, you know, when I say ignorance, there’s two ways to interpret that word, John. There’s I’m choosing to ignore the facts or choosing to ignore looking into the facts, or I’m flat out, I honestly don’t know. But either of those are kind of revolving around, hey, look at the facts. Why don’t you do your own research? Stop just listening to whoever is you know, barking information out there because, you know, where are they getting their information from? And we’ve talked numerous times in the past couple of weeks about, you know, the misinformation and everybody’s an expert. And there’s a thing, and I don’t know if you’re familiar with it, but in the gun world, self-defense world, we talk about it quite a bit. It’s called the Dunning-Kruger effect, which means that you get a little bit of information, you get a little bit of training, and you think you are an expert. It’s really this unconscious incompetence, but you think that you’re competent in something, you know, you, you watch a couple of YouTube videos, you read a couple of books or whatever. And now all of a sudden you’re an expert, you know, and we, we even kind of ran into that a couple of weeks ago, or I think it was last week when we’re talking about this whole Iran thing, you know, and I heard this and I heard that. And, and it’s like a little bit of information. And now all of a sudden you’re an expert in it. And, you know, there’s a, there’s a problem with that. And so one thing with, you know, AI and what I’ve started doing with it is I’ve changed my thinking with it. You know, here’s the reality of anything. I don’t care if it’s a steak knife, a gun, a firearm, AI, a computer, you can make anything good or evil, depending on how you use it, right? And it can be one or the other. Take a knife. A knife is a very useful tool that I can go out and you know, pick fruit or pick produce, slice that produce up, you know, feed my family, cut meat, whatever, whatever. Or I can take that knife and go and do some pretty harmful things with it. So the same thing’s true with AI, right? I mean, I can do some pretty harmful things with it. There’s people out there that are actually, they had to put a stop to it. They had to put some restrictions to it because people are like, hey, how do I make a certain drug? Or how do I break a certain law? And I don’t want to talk about specifics because I don’t know where we’ll stand with what we’re able to say over air or not. But, you know, like, hey, how can I do this? It’s a blatant bad thing. And AI is answering the question because it’s just searching the Internet, pulling together all the information that’s out there and saying, here it is. Here’s what I found. I equate it to the modern-day encyclopedia. We did the same thing with books before AI. You know, you’d have this book, you’d have that book, you’d do your research, right? And then if you were writing papers or whatever, school, at the end of your paper, you know, you stated all your sources. Right, I decided everything. Things like that. Right. And that’s all that this is. It’s interesting because I shared with you on Wednesday, I was using AI to… to help do my Revelation chapter 26 through 15 study for that night. And again, it’s a research tool, right? It ain’t no different than me referencing six different commentaries, right? And it came back, and it was saying, you know, how transhumanism and AI could easily play a part in Satan’s role of deception in the end times, and specifically speaking, going back to the days of Noah, Jesus says, hey, as it was in the days of Noah, so it will again be when the Son of Man… And what was the thing with the days of Noah? Well, there was a couple things. Everybody was doing right what was in their own eyes, but the big thing was that everybody misses, and it’s a touchy subject, again, because people don’t do their own research, but it’s the thing called the Nephilim, okay? And you understand that the Bible is clear when it says fallen angels came down had intercourse with human women, and produced what we know as giants. The translation is Nephilim, the man of renown. When you hear of the Greek mythology, the Hercules, the Zeus, that’s probably what these guys were.
SPEAKER 03 :
I have the same feeling on that. That’s most likely what that is. And to your point a moment ago, and this is something I think is really important to make sure we clarify. I was talking to a client about this this morning, Bill, because I’m trying to get a lot of my clients that I coach to start incorporating some of what AI can do to – In some cases, Bill, and I’m not trying to eliminate jobs, but everybody right now is looking for workers. There’s not enough in the trades especially to go around. So what can we do to maximize our time and get more done, including even the writing of certain things, the typing into the computer of certain things, documents, and so on? And this is where ChatGPT AI really comes in handy. And for all of you listening, what ChatGPT does, or AI in general, is – You know, Bill, you have in your industry, the auto industry has it as well. There are tons. And, I mean, I’m not talking – I mean, there are volumes upon volumes upon volumes of information on any particular instance, repair, when it comes to cars, Bill, the trouble codes that come out of the computer when the check engine light’s on and so on. And, I mean, there are so many different resources that in the past – a auto technician would have to go to a lot of those different individual sites in some cases even have subscriptions to said sites to pull back some of that information that would be there all ai is doing to your point bill is going out on the internet and collecting all of that information in a nanosecond. It’s amazing that it can do all of that in that kind of speed. And literally, it’ll just start spitting out information to you on different things that you would like to know. And like you, Bill, you have to look at everything that it’s saying because is it always going to be exactly correct? No, Bill. It is looking at information that is out there. And if that information, by the way, is wrong, well, then the information that it regurgitates is also going to be wrong. But, you know, that’s where you have to be smart and be able to look at those things and know, yeah, this isn’t quite right. I think this is going to be off, you know, ever so slightly. I’ve got an example of that today, by the way, in what I looked up in, you know, having ChatGBT help in regards to, you know, the end of the world EMP preparedness thing. So I’ll give an example of that. So it’s not that it’s foolproof, but I tell you what, holy cow, is it a time saver. It is huge, Bill.
SPEAKER 10 :
Yeah, it just cuts off on all that research. You could be, you know, in the old days, we’d go to the library and read all those books. If they weren’t checked out, we would take all those books and, you know, spend hours and hours of researching in them. It just gives you the highlights or the cliff notes of of all those books for you, really at a keystroke, like you said, and it’s so fast. So you could take something that would normally take you two to four hours to do, and you could literally have all that information in 15 minutes. And you can tell it, like going back to my Wednesday thing, right? I said, hey, I am a Calvary Chapel pastor. I’ve been doing this for 15 years. This is my fifth time teaching Revelation. this is the size of our church, and I really fed into it, what it was, and then I said, now your role, you are also an end times expert, and you are a Calvary Chapel pastor, so now it kind of guidelines the mindset, if you will, of what kind of answers I’m looking for. And it came back, and it said, yeah, okay, typically you guys believe in this, and so here’s what is kind of standard with with your co-teachers, if you will. Your belief system. Yeah, your belief system, whatever. You could do the same thing, right? I could sit there and go, even though I’m not, John, I could go, hey, I’m an expert. Or you could say, you know, I’m not really good with cars. I’m kind of okay with them. I can change my own oil. I have some basic tools, you know, and here’s the problem. My car’s doing this. And then turn around and go, your role is you’re a I’m sitting in my Toyota. So you’re a Toyota specialist and you’re really good at this stuff. And, you know, how would you suggest to me with my limited knowledge and my limited tools how to fix this situation? And it will come back and it will feed me precise. That’s why it’s called a chat because we’re having a conversation. And there’s others. There’s Gemini and there’s others out there that you can use. But it’s a resource thing. But it was interesting. And if I can just jump back real quick to what I sent you. Because it was talking about transhumanism and the Nephilim, and it says that people are using this to try to extend their life, you know, with messing with genetics and programming. You know, Elon’s got this thing where he’s trying to, you know, input a computer into a brain so you can upload it. And then the computer says, this is basically creating a hybrid, which fits Jesus when it says, hey, the return of the Nephilim, because the Nephilim were a hybrid. They were half angel, half human. And so it’s coming back to that. And so then I asked it. I said, so are you this, Chad GPT? And it said, yes, I am. And he said, I am the very thing you’re preaching against. It was hysterical.
SPEAKER 03 :
Interesting.
SPEAKER 10 :
I sent you that text thread.
SPEAKER 03 :
I know. Well, and again, because, again, keep in mind, it is pulling information out there that has been fed into it. And, of course, Bill, you know that a lot of people have fed into the Internet and other places exactly what you just said. So it’s got the ability to go out and find that same information. And it’s really, I mean, does it really believe that? I highly doubt it. It’s regurgitating what other people have put into it is what it’s doing.
SPEAKER 10 :
It doesn’t believe you the way. In fact, even in that thread, it said, I’m not a live person. I don’t care either way. I’m just telling you what I have found.
SPEAKER 12 :
That’s right.
SPEAKER 10 :
And here’s the tipping point. We’re going back to the steak knife. You know, I can take something, and I can use it for good or evil. And I can take that, and I can go, okay, that’s good information. You know, I’ll sort through it. I’ll take what I like, and I’ll leave what I don’t like. Versus, oh, my gosh, this is now I’m replacing chat GPT with email. you know, the Word of God. I’m replacing the wisdom of chat GPT with the Holy Spirit, and that’s where you start to get into trouble, right? I’m not going to trust what John said, because you’re an expert in cars and landscaping and all your various things. I’m not going to trust All those years of experience from you, John, because, you know what, ChatGPT said this, and now I start to suffer from that Dunning-Kruger effect.
SPEAKER 03 :
Right. And that’s where I think, and do you have to be careful on all of these things, everybody listening? Absolutely you do. On the same token, does that mean that, you know, you take the baby and throw it out with the bathwater? Of course not, Bill. This is where you have to be careful. educated and smart enough to know that, and by the way, also have other skill sets, going back to your example of fixing the car. Yeah, you could go to ChatGBT, look up what the most possible cause of fixing XYZ is, but the reality, Bill, is while it tells you what you may be looking at to fix, if you don’t have A, the tools, B, the skill set, and even C, knowing what some of the cheats and workarounds are at times to even get said part changed out or whatever it is you happen to be doing at the end of the day. Reality is you’re not going to be any further ahead. Yeah, you know what the answer is, but it’s like… It’s like the answer of, you know, how do you find water and how deep do you need to dig the well? Well, you might be able to get that answer, Bill, but unless you’ve got a shovel and or the proper equipment or a drilling mechanism to actually make that happen, that information is somewhat useless.
SPEAKER 10 :
Yeah, yeah. Those that know me, they know I get on one of my little hobby horses here. One of my buttons is that phrase, you know, knowledge is power. And I cannot stand that phrase because it is absolutely false. It is leading people to a false belief that just because you have knowledge means you have power. No, knowledge is potential power.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah, what I would say, I always say it this way. Knowledge can be empowering. Is it power? Not necessarily. In fact, sometimes it can be the opposite of. But can it be empowering? If done correctly, yes, it can.
SPEAKER 10 :
Right, because really what knowledge, if you really want to, my definition of knowledge, if you want to understand what that is, it’s information plus or times experience equals knowledge. Information doesn’t get you anywhere. You know, I mean, I can know how to do something. It’s like last week I told you, John, I’ve got a tower garden. I’m good. It’s been in the box for four years.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah, there you go. Good example. Yeah, great example. It could be like there’s a lot of people, Bill, that over time they inherit all sorts of things. They inherit different tools or different this or different that. Given a great example, somebody could inherit from somebody like you a ham radio, which we may get into today a little bit because it’s one of the things that’s listed on this list at ChadGPT.com. spit out. But the reality is that’s great. You have it. You’ve got it in front of you. But do you know how to use it, Bill? Most cases, no. Some may not even know how to turn it on.
SPEAKER 10 :
Yeah. How do I turn this on? What does it take to turn it on? There are certain power requirements with those things. There’s a whole bunch going on. But that’s the whole point, right? Because I have the tower garden in the box, it doesn’t give me power. No, it’s potential power. I’ve got to put the thing together. I’ve got to put it to use. Now it’s power. And that’s the whole point.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah, I think for me, and this is, again, not trying to knock anybody because I love the trades, Bill, and have a solid appreciation and love for them because that’s where I came out of. Still, I’m in it in a great, great way, so I never want to say anything bad about the trades. But I think a lot of young people, especially, or maybe I should say new people, because you can be somebody that’s older and switching jobs and getting into the trades or whatever. You could be in your teens. You could be in your 20s. You could be in your 60s and still moving into the trades, per se. How should I say this, Bill? The biggest obstacle that I had to overcome as a owner or somebody that was even trying to teach and train some of those individuals that would come in as a quote-unquote newbie was that reality of you don’t know as much as you think you do. You think you’ve got all of this knowledge and what you may have been taught in school or the video you may have watched or the book that you may have read, but the reality is unless you’ve done that job, and I’m being honest, Bill, unless you’ve done that job a dozen times, you don’t have any experience doing that.
SPEAKER 10 :
Right. We have a saying in the electrical trade, and, you know, I mean, I’m 30-plus in the electrical trade, and I came up through the union. I still am union, you know, and so there’s a whole – you know, culture within the union, right? Right. And there was this saying that we always had through that culture was, there’s nothing dumber than a first-year apprentice than a first-year journeyman. And really what that meant was, you know, you spent five years going through school, you get your ticket, and all of a sudden you realize how dumb you really are.
SPEAKER 12 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 10 :
You know, I mean, I remember when I turned out, the term is called turned out, by the way. I got thrown into a service truck and I literally came home that first day and went, where’s all my books from the past five years? Because, you know, I’m going through school and I was like, I was just going through school to take the test and pass school. And now it’s like, oh, I need that information right now because I can’t ask nobody. And I literally had an old milk crate with all my school books in there. And it’s like, okay, I’m going to go grab my motor book so I can figure out what’s going on with this motor right here. But yeah, that kind of goes to your point, right?
SPEAKER 03 :
Well, and all of those are different experiences. I, not to get off track here, but there are two comparisons here of everything you’re talking about. I happened to grow up in the automotive world, was around it from the time I was a very young boy. I’m talking really from the time I could remember walking was around different things and learning fractions by handing my dad wrenches and different things along those lines. And the reality, Bill, is I never once went to school, took a test, had any books. I was kind of the opposite of you. All of my learning came from those guys that had done it not only a dozen times, but had probably done it a hundred times and were, you know, informing you of all of the little tricks of the trade, and here’s what you do here, and here’s what you do there, and here’s how you get around this, and here’s how you can speed this up, and so on. And I was very, very, very – I didn’t realize it at the time, by the way. In fact, I was probably at times somewhat ungrateful, Bill, because I had other friends that were going to school, and they were doing this, and they were doing that, and I’m thinking, man, I’m slothing it out here, you know, cleaning drains and doing all sorts of other stuff while somebody else is over there in the classroom enjoying themselves. Little did I know, Bill, best education I could have ever bought.
SPEAKER 10 :
Yeah, that’s the best thing you could have ever got right there because it was hands-on, right? You weren’t learning through books. You were learning through experience. knowledge plus experience, or the information, excuse me, plus experience equals knowledge, right?
SPEAKER 03 :
And I was fairly smart to realize that, hey, these guys are really smart, and I’m going to suck up all this information. But, you know, I was young at the time. I’ll be the first to admit it. There were times where I looked at friends and others that were doing other things, and I’m thinking to myself, Man alive, you know, they’ve got it made. They’re going to school. They’re in air conditioning. You know, they’re enjoying the classroom today. They’re doing this. They’re doing that. They’re learning the same things I am. They weren’t, but they were learning. I thought in my mind they were learning the same things, Bill. And I finally realized as time went on a little bit that, holy cow, I ended up with an education that most couldn’t have bought.
SPEAKER 10 :
Yeah, you just jumped way ahead of them, actually. And you’re right. You can’t buy that. you can’t buy that. That’s the value of what we would call apprenticeship, right? And by the way, I don’t care what trade you went into throughout time, you apprenticed, you know, and they kind of still got it today. They call it interns, but, you know, it’s the same thing. You dedicate, you know, your sweat and your labor for the exchange of knowledge. And in the process, that’s how it all works. And you know what that replace that carton of books today? Well, it’s ChatGPT. I can go to my band and go, I’m in this situation, John, and I don’t know, man, let me just ask this thing. Hey, here’s my situation.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 10 :
What do you got for me? Great idea. Here you go. Go try this. And I’m like, oh, my gosh, let me go try that. And heck, it might work.
SPEAKER 03 :
Right. Great idea. All right. Good segue. We’ll take a timeout. We’ll come right back. We’re going to get into some of what Chad GBT talks about when it comes to survival tips for those what-if times. We’ll get into that here in just one moment. Don’t forget the website, ready-radio.com. And if you want to find out more about Bill and everything he has, go to prep, the number two, prep2protect.com. This is KLZ Radio. SPEAKER 03 :
All right, we are back. Ready Radio, KLZ 560. And again, we’re talking about Chad GPT. And, you know, again, folks, I’m one where, Bill, you know me, I’m just not much of a conspiracy theorist at all. And I look at everything that’s out there as it could be used for good, could be used for bad. And by the way, that could be everything from a knife to a hammer to a gun to your cell phone to I can get on the list, Bill. I mean, the reality is it’s a choice and it’s a balance. And are we doing it the right way, the wrong way? I don’t feel like this is going to be any different when it’s all said and done. But yet at the beginning of this, just like barcodes back in the day, just like the car back in the day, Bill, people are going to be afraid of it.
SPEAKER 10 :
Yeah. It’s anything new, unknown, people are going to be afraid of it and try to classify it as something. We’ve got to walk with wisdom and not be foolish, right? But you’ve just got to get into it. You know, knowing what is what, and that’s why it’s so important to check your facts and to do the best you can to, you know, don’t be so gullible, but, you know, just do the old things, right? I mean, in the Bible, again, Acts 17 and 11, they received everything with readiness, but then they went back and searched the Scriptures to find out whether these things were so. Well, we’ve got to do the same thing, right? We receive something, hey, yeah, try this, okay, yeah, I’ll check that out. But then I’m going to go and do the best research I can and then go from there and make my own decision. Did you see that text I just sent you?
SPEAKER 03 :
I did, actually. Yeah, good one.
SPEAKER 10 :
Very good. In the next 30 years, what’s the most secure jobs you can have? And it came back as number one, electrician. Got that one. There you go. Number three, HVAC tech. Got that one. And I think four was mechanic. You got that one.
SPEAKER 03 :
Electrician, plumbers, HVAC, welders, mechanics, general contractors. Again, the trades. It really could just sum it all up that way, Bill. The trades. Right. The trades.
SPEAKER 10 :
Yeah, because a lot of things, you know, even my one son-in-law, you know, he went to school for mechanical engineering. And I’m like, I could totally see, you know, AI replacing engineers. Right. Totally. You’ll still have some human element. They’ve got to put stuff in.
SPEAKER 03 :
Verify, check, all that kind of stuff. But you’re going to minimize teams for sure.
SPEAKER 10 :
Oh, yeah, you’re good. Just like the old typing pulls from the 70s and the 80s, now it’s gone.
SPEAKER 03 :
Switchboard operators, Bill. I mean, at one time, everything got ran with a cord into the right port and so on. Yeah, that’s all digitized, and even the operator end of things is all automated at this point. So great example. John and Shan, what do you got for us? Go ahead, sir.
SPEAKER 09 :
Hey, so I was laughing when you guys were talking about asking the questions but not knowing the knowledge because I have a coworker. And that person doesn’t really know Excel, and we need to know a little bit about Excel in the job. And we have Copilot at our work, and they were trying to ask Copilot how to do stuff. And, yes, Copilot’s great. It made me an Excel super expert.
SPEAKER 12 :
Uh-huh.
SPEAKER 09 :
But you got to have the basic knowledge first on how to work Excel so you know what to ask. Right. Good point. And that’s where the big thing with AI comes in. Yeah, you could ask AI anything, but if you don’t have the basic knowledge about how to use it. True. So I just thought that was amusing because, you know, I was good at Excel, but now if I’m not sure of how to do some complex formula or something – I could throw that in Copilot and it says, oh, yeah, here, do this, this, this. Well, I know how to do that, that, and that. If you don’t.
SPEAKER 03 :
Good point.
SPEAKER 09 :
Great example. And what was funny is when this person joined our team, I said, well, there’s a basic Excel course out on the company website. And they said, well, that’s old. And I’m like, well, Excel hasn’t changed. It hasn’t changed in two decades or more. It just keeps getting bigger and bigger. Right. And they walk off. I don’t really think that is going to help me. And they’re just like, and I’m…
SPEAKER 03 :
John, really, that kind of comes back to what Bill and I have been talking about. That’s the foundational end of things. And the reality is that the foundation of that program, yeah, a lot more bells and whistles today than what there’s ever been. But foundationally speaking, it hasn’t changed.
SPEAKER 09 :
No, it hasn’t at all. And, you know, I kind of got frustrated and told my bosses that they don’t want to learn I can’t help them. They want to learn I can help. But when you get those people that don’t want to learn, you can’t help them.
SPEAKER 03 :
Great point.
SPEAKER 09 :
And those are the people that are going to be dead in two weeks if we have an EMP or something.
SPEAKER 03 :
You’re right.
SPEAKER 09 :
Because they just don’t have the basic skill set. Now, me, I’m a decent diesel mechanic. I got hands-on skills. I can build. I can do things. I can drive. But I’m not an expert at any of them because I’ve never been in the trades. I mean, if you sit me in front of a computer, I could figure it out and do pretty well because that’s what I’ve always done. But I could survive, and that’s the biggest key is surviving. And, you know, that’s the military training. They taught me how to survive more than that and growing up in the streets of New York.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah, there you go. Good one. Great example, John.
SPEAKER 09 :
Have a good day.
SPEAKER 03 :
I appreciate you. Bill, everything he’s talking about is spot on. That’s the foundational thing even you and I were talking about a moment ago. You have to have, because if—and this is like, you know, you even asking ChatGPT things about Scripture or any of us doing the same. If you don’t have that foundational knowledge, you don’t know if it’s telling you something that’s a lie or not.
SPEAKER 10 :
Exactly. There’s a lot of times I type something into there and I’m like, no. And I’ll even— I expect to argue with it. I’ll be like, you just contradicted yourself. And it always comes back. It’s like, oh, good catch. You’re an astute student, and you caught that. It’s always trying to rub your back. But I was going to ask John there, if he took those same questions that he would put into Copilot, if he would put them into ChatGPT, if he would get a similar answer, because here’s the thing. I don’t even know Copilot exists. I don’t even know what that is.
SPEAKER 12 :
That’s Microsoft’s version of AI.
SPEAKER 10 :
Oh, is it? Oh, okay. Okay, I did not know that. See, didn’t know that. But, you know, if he were to sit down, even if you were honest with it and said, hey, I know nothing about cars. Help me. You’re an expert. You’re trying to teach me to fix this problem. What would you tell me? You know, and you could go in there with that approach, and it will give you completely different answers. Most people treat, you know, whether it’s Gemini or ChatGPT or EndoCoPilot, now that I just learned that, you know, they treat it as like a Google search engine. And it’s like it’s so much more power than that. If you get more specific with it, just don’t go like, hey, you know, what can I grow right now? And it’s going to give you a basic answer, but you say, here’s my information. Here’s what I’ve got on hand. Here’s where I live. Here’s the tools I have. Here’s the equipment. Here’s the time that I have. And you can create these templates. I sent you that book, The AI Leader, and he kind of talks about how to build these templates and things in a way that you can put them into ChatGPT. to have these conversations.
SPEAKER 03 :
And you can maximize the tool instead of just… The other thing, too, that I should mention to everybody, because that’s one thing I’ve been, again, been trying to teach my clients, is ChatGPT, as you use it more and more, even the free version, and there’s… higher versions depending upon what you want to spend money on there’s some monthly subscriptions and even enable it to do more i’m just currently still using the free version but one thing that it does even along these lines of preparing for the end or hey how do i you know garden certain things and so on it has the ability or i’m not saying that right it because of its ability, indexes everything that you have searched for from the beginning until now. So if there’s something that you want to even go back in and review that you searched, you’re now building, Bill, your own catalog of searches, if you would.
SPEAKER 10 :
Exactly. I picked up on that, and instead of having this one long mega… No, new chat.
SPEAKER 03 :
Every time you start, new chat, new chat, new chat.
SPEAKER 10 :
Yeah, so I learned that. And then you can actually print them out. You can ask it to put it in a book form. You can actually… I pay the $20 a month. You can paint a picture for me. It’s not so good with pictures, but you could… You can format this and do a PowerPoint presentation. I mean, you can literally ask it to do anything that works for you.
SPEAKER 12 :
Yep.
SPEAKER 10 :
Anyway, it’s really, really great, you know, and you’ve just got to learn to use the tool.
SPEAKER 03 :
That’s right. Well, and so I was talking earlier about how is it 100% correct, and no, it is not. So let me give you an example. This is where… I, having the knowledge that I have on the automotive side, I can look at some of these things and say, yeah, not so fast, Chad GBT, because in the preparing for an EMP and what to be doing under the transportation heading, it’s heading number four and what I inputted. Yours might be a little different, Bill, depending upon what it spit back out. But it says modern cars. especially post-2000, have lots of electronics that can be EMP vulnerable. Ideas, older vehicles, the pre-’80s with minimal – it’s funny how they skipped from the post-2000s. They went two decades earlier now. Now they’re in the 80s with minimal or no electronics, special ECU or ignition modules in Faraday cage. Now, that one is correct. If you have even – and this is where it’s wrong – Even pre-’80s, in some vehicles, depending upon the make and model, they had electronic ignition, GM, starting in 73, 75, depending upon the particular make and model. So that early 70s, things were starting to become, quote-unquote, solid state, and they were doing modules and things like that to even make the ignition side of things better. And, yeah, in that case, you could have some of those. They’re not very expensive. You could have a spare module or two for those types of vehicles if that’s something that you wanted to do is pick up an older truck or SUV or something along. They didn’t have SUVs back then. Older truck, Jeep, something like that’s probably what I should say, Bill. you could actually put some of those components in a Faraday cage. And, yeah, if there was something that happened, you could replace those components if they were damaged and off you go. But it’s interesting where it says, again, especially post-2000, and that’s a correct statement, but really it shouldn’t say post-2000. It should say post-late 70s. I mean, the reality is by the late 70s, every single thing that was running was running some way, somehow, on some sort of an electronic ignition. And then once fuel injection came along in the mid-80s, it lights out because everything at that point was totally controlled by the computer as far as how all of the engine management and all of the powertrain management worked. That was all done electronically at that point. So, again, is it correct? Sort of, but it’s off a couple of decades, Bill.
SPEAKER 10 :
Yeah, but that’s also true of any book I pick up. You know how many books I’ve bought on gardening or self-sufficiency or whatever it may be, and I’m reading it going, that’s not right. Yeah, good point. that’s not correct, you know, or how many YouTube videos I watch or whatever, or maybe even somebody, I might make a statement about Excel and Joe may call back and go, yeah, that’s not right. You know, because I don’t know anything about it. I’m speaking from my limited knowledge.
SPEAKER 11 :
Right.
SPEAKER 10 :
And it’s correct according to my knowledge, but it’s not correct according to an expert’s knowledge. So here’s what I would do in that case. I would take, hey, I have a 2021 Toyota Tacoma, how can I EMP-proof that vehicle?
SPEAKER 03 :
And the answer is you’re not. There’s so many different – on a 21, there’s so many different modules and controls and so on. And there are people out there that now will – good conversation, by the way. Thanks for asking, Bill, because this is one that I think I need to mention because there’s a lot of gimmicks out there. And, Bill, you know this as well as I, because we haven’t had an EMP. There’s no way for some of these people to even tell you, is this device really going to work or not? So, for example, there are these car EMP blankets that they tell you can put over your car. It’s like a car cover, only it’s an EMP blanket, and they claim that that’s going to protect everything inside, under the hood, and so on. And I’ll tell you, Bill, nothing could be farther from the truth than the way I understand
SPEAKER 10 :
know how emps work and how that actually even goes into the ground and comes back out of the soil and so on reality is you’re not going to protect that car by putting an emp blanket on top of it and there’s so many variables how far was it away from you there’s so many variables with that too and and that wasn’t you know i i knew the answer to that by the way john there’s like 72 stupid computers in this computer in this truck or something like that you know but but my point is is like Don’t be so generic with your question. I don’t care what car you have. And then you can drill down and go, okay, well, what car could I get? I have a guaranteed EMP-proof vehicle. Guaranteed. It’s called my Schwinn bicycle.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah, exactly. And that is what I’ll give Chad GPT credit, because one of the things, Bill, they follow up with is exactly that. If you want foolproof transportation, make sure you have a bicycle on hand.
SPEAKER 10 :
Yeah, exactly. But see, now this causes you to think, right? Because now you’re not falling for those gimmicks, John. And I think, I don’t know if you ended up watching that podcast that I sent you.
SPEAKER 03 :
I have not yet. No, I have not, Bill. I might this next week, but I have not yet.
SPEAKER 10 :
Yeah, so his whole thing was using ChatGPT to not get taken advantage of from salespeople. And, you know, this is a slippery slope, right? Because there’s business… doing business, making money, and there’s like, are you a sales guy? So there’s a lot of HVAC electrical companies and they drive around. And, you know, really painted up cars, and I’m probably going to step on some toes, but I don’t care, John. You can fire me later.
SPEAKER 03 :
You’re fine.
SPEAKER 10 :
You can’t fire a volunteer, so… You’re fine.
SPEAKER 03 :
And by the way, I had this same conversation with a client of mine that I was coaching the other day along the exact same lines to where, frankly, and I’ll tell everybody this straight up, just because something’s all logoed up, wrapped, and so on, A, it doesn’t mean it’s a bad company, but it also doesn’t mean it’s a great company just because they’re all logoed up. So… That’s one of those things where you’ve got to go out, look at reviews, do your own research, get multiple opinions, if you ask me, especially if it’s going to be a major project that you’re doing to your home. Always get multiple bids and really feel comfortable with that person. And just because they show up all layered up in a full wrap, Bill, doesn’t mean they’re the best.
SPEAKER 10 :
Yeah, and they show up to fix your furnace in a car.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah, that’s probably not going to work either. That’s kind of the opposite end of it.
SPEAKER 10 :
That’s a sales guy.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 10 :
That’s a sales guy.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 10 :
You know, and that’s what these guys are. They’re sales people, right, because they’ve got to hit numbers and – And all this, you know, I remember back in the 80s, remember the generic brand? You got the bag that just said beans. That’s all it said, right? And then there’s a bag that had all the pictures of the people and the colors and the plants. Inside, it’s the same stinking bean, but one’s a dollar cheaper because it didn’t have to pay for all the advertising. Right. Good point. So that’s just consideration. But anyway, back to the topic here. You know, it’s like using chat GPT in a scenario of, hey, I’m at a car shop, and this guy’s telling me I better replace my air filter right now or my car’s going to explode on the way home or I’ve got to change the blinker fluid or I’ve got to do this and this and this and this. You’ve got to do it now. You know, in the HVAC world, we’re sitting in a situation right now. It’s 92 degrees. It’s 100 degrees. And your furnace and your AC is not working, and everybody’s booked out two weeks, and they’re like, No, I’m not going to tell you that I could just change that capacitor, and it might cost you a couple hundred bucks with the labor and all that. No, I’ve got to sell you a $16,000 new system, and boy, you better do it now because we’re booked out.
SPEAKER 03 :
Great point. I’m going to slide this in really quick because I think this is really appropriate, Bill, and a listener sent me this, and I’ve been reading some of this as well. Recently, there’s been some of these quote-unquote teen… Takeovers. It’s happening here in this Denver area. There was a big deal out at North Ridge. What’s the mall along I-70, the old Stapleton area? North Ridge, is that what they call that area, Bill? I can’t remember.
SPEAKER 10 :
Northfield. Is it Northfield?
SPEAKER 03 :
Northfield. That’s it, Northfield. So there was a big takeover there Sunday night. I just had an article sent to me about how the Denver Zoo is struggling with some of these things as well. And what these kids do is they get online, they talk about how, hey, let’s all meet up at such and such a place. Well, then that word starts to spread, and pretty soon there’s some gang involvement in the case of the situation. At Northfield, they showed up with some weapons. The police had to be called. People were there, you know, shoppers and people that were just out for dinner and so on. It became a big, huge mess. And so somebody was asking me a moment ago, number one, you know, what’s my take on that? And number two, you know, why are these kids doing that? Well, here’s my take on it. Number one, those are just a bunch of bored kids. And that’s what this particular person said as well. These are a bunch of bored kids. But Bill, here’s why they’re bored. they’re not working. These parents should have those kids out doing some sort of a job to where frankly, they don’t have the time or the energy to do the things that they’re doing along those lines. And if they were doing what I just said, these things wouldn’t happen. That’s my opinion.
SPEAKER 10 :
Yeah. Yeah. It kind of goes into the dog training world too. You know, when you got a dog acting up and doing, you know, stupid stuff, it’s like, well, cause the dog, the dog isn’t being used for its purpose. It’s, you know, it’s, it’s being caged or whatever it is i mean that’s not the exact correct verbiage i’m trying to say here but but you know you’re you’re not allowing that dog most dogs are bred to work right good point they’re out hurt hurting something or they’re doing something or they’re retrieving something or whatever whatever good point you just keep them on the couch they get frustrated right they’re like oh i get frustrated i need to do something like me when i go on vacation i’m like man, I can’t wait to get back home because I’m done sitting here. It’s been two days. Right. You know, and that’s why prison is prison because you’re locked up.
SPEAKER 03 :
Okay, so let’s dovetail, and we can come back to the chat GBT thing because that’s going to be kind of an ongoing conversation I think we can have pretty regularly, Bill. But we’ve got a few minutes here left of this particular hour. That was a great question somebody asked. Let’s say you find yourself. Let’s say you’re at a – a gathering, you’re at a shopping mall, you went to the movies, you did something along those lines, and all of a sudden you might come out of said movie theater by the way, you thought, man, this is great, you’re talking about the movie, you walk out, and all of a sudden there are mobs and mobs of teens and people everywhere. Bill, what should someone do if, in fact, that happens to them?
SPEAKER 10 :
I would look for the… quickest, easiest, less intrusive path out of there. And I wouldn’t do it.
SPEAKER 03 :
And I’m going to dovetail into that because, number one, I believe you’re right. First thing I would do is you’re looking out the glass, hopefully, before you ever exit to know what’s outside. Just don’t have your head buried and walk out and not have access back into the theater because here’s where I’m going with this, Bill. If it’s that bad outside, go back into the theater you just came out of and exit out of one of those exits in the theater that’s going out the back of the building.
SPEAKER 10 :
Yeah, most places have a back door.
SPEAKER 03 :
Exactly, so go find that back door is my point.
SPEAKER 10 :
But you won’t get back in.
SPEAKER 03 :
You’re not going to get back in if you’ve already exited that door and you push the bar is my point.
SPEAKER 10 :
Yeah, and you’ve got to be careful with that too because if you open the door and there’s a mob there and they’re like, oh, the door’s open, let’s go, and then now they, we used to call it bum rush you, they bum rush you back in, that’s not necessarily a good scenario either. True. it you’re, you’re trying to answer an absolute when there’s no absolute with this particular scenario, because it’s so ebb and flow, right? It’s, Hey, I could, I could look at somebody in the eyes with, and they could interpret that look wrong. And all of a sudden it go totally sideways, you know? So I’m going to, if I happen to be in that crowd, you know, first of all, if I’m with my family, we’re all going to gather up. We’re going to, we’re going to, hold each other’s hands or, you know, kids, I’m going to hold their shirts or I’m going to pick them up or I’m going to do whatever. I’m not going to look anybody in the eye. I’m going to look for the quickest path through that crowd to get me out of there. I’m going to keep my head, if you will, down, not literally down where I can’t see what I’m doing, but I’m going to blend in and I’m going to get out of there. I’m not going to be like, hey, what’s going on? And you guys are stupid. I’m not going to do that. I’m not going to do that. I’m outnumbered, right?
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah, no, and really quick, for that listener that sent that in, thank you, by the way. It’s something I was going to cover during the weekly show, and honestly, Bill, I just had so much other stuff going on with everything from Iran to you name it. I just didn’t get around to that because that was a big news story Monday coming out of last Sunday night, and evidently it’s happening again and, frankly, probably will happen more. Once these sorts of things get going— you know, they’re going to continue to happen. And yeah, Bill, I’m with you. Number one, this is one of those situations to where I don’t need to get in a fight. I don’t need to be, I just don’t need to be there. So what’s my quickest way out of that entire situation? That’s the first thing I’m going to be looking for.
SPEAKER 10 :
Right, right. And the other consideration too, John, I don’t know about you, okay, but I know what’s on my person’s OK.
SPEAKER 12 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 10 :
And we’ll just leave it at that. Yeah. But if I get in a bad situation and that comes out for whatever reason, whether by me or by somebody else, man, we just take that. We just took that from zero to like one hundred.
SPEAKER 12 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 10 :
Like right now. Great point. You know, you know, maybe I have some tear some pepper spray with me. If things get bad, I’m going to I’m going to go do that first. But even at that, there’s you know, people don’t really understand pepper spray. There’s there’s blowback. You’re going to get a little bit of that, too. So, you know, I mean, all of this is escalating. The best thing to do is to just be as –
SPEAKER 03 :
you know less noticeable as you can and and get out of there yeah in that particular situation uh for for me folks this is one of those times where even as you know loud and boisterous and all of that bill as as i am and as determined as i am that’s one of those things where you know what i want to be about the size of a mouse when it’s all said and done so you know what i’m going to be as as unnoticeable and as quiet and try to slip around and through and do different things and you know as quickly as possible And by the way, here’s some advice. If you’re parked where some of these folks are not, and that’s why, by the way, I’m a big advocate of not parking up close. I rarely, if ever, Bill, park up against a building. A, I don’t like door dings. I’m really anal about my vehicles. But B, because of this factor we’re talking about right now, if you end up being close to the building, your chances of not being able to get out of that situation are greatly reduced versus parking way out in one of the outer areas. You know, areas, outer parking lots, even if you’re at a shopping mall or something along those lines. And so what I’m getting at, Bill, is I would be doing my best to get to where my car is. And if I can see the listen, I’ve got a clear path. I can get out there. Once we get out there, we’re going to hightail and get out of here. And we’re going to eliminate ourselves from this particular. But if you find yourself to where, man, that thing is engulfed, everybody’s around everything, there’s no way I’m going to get out without running over somebody, then what you need to be looking at, in my opinion, is where is the next place you can shelter whereby you are going to be safe and not have anybody around you. And that’s the things I would be looking at, Bill.
SPEAKER 10 :
Yeah, you might have to dip into a store or something like that. But even if somebody addresses you, you should be like, hey, I’m just here with my family. I just want to get out of here. I just want to get out of here. I’m going to share with my family. We’re leaving.
SPEAKER 03 :
Went to the movies. We’re on our way out. We don’t want any trouble, blah, blah, blah. We’re on our way out.
SPEAKER 10 :
Yeah. I ain’t got nothing to prove, but I do have something to live for.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah, yeah. This is one of those situations where being, quote, unquote, big man on campus isn’t going to help you, Bill.
SPEAKER 10 :
No, no. It’s not worth it. Those days are over for me, right? The saying that I say every time I teach, the only fight you can guarantee is the one you don’t get in. And it’s funny because I was kind of joking with my coach, who’s fourth-degree black belt and second-degree black belt, and I said, you know, it’s kind of funny that we train you to be violent. Until you’re a black belt. Now all of a sudden you’re a black belt. We tell you, now don’t use any of your skills we just trained you. Right. Don’t do any of that. Avoid the fight.
SPEAKER 03 :
Well, but, you know, I think really what you’re saying is it’s like anything else. It’s like having a car that will do something that you’re not typically going to do on a daily basis. But if you ever knew you needed to, you have that with you. It doesn’t mean you’re using it every day and you may not even want to use it in that way. But you have that ability if that situation ever comes up. It’s no different for what you’re talking about, right?
SPEAKER 10 :
Yeah, exactly. It’s the mindset. It’s the mindset. And here’s another tip, and people aren’t going to like this, but if I know this stuff’s going around and happening, maybe I’m just going to stay home. Maybe I’m just going to rent a Netflix movie. I mean, I know. Good point. Yeah, is it worth it?
SPEAKER 03 :
Is it worth it? Yeah, and by the way, I agree with that. On the same token, in some cases like this takeover, by the way, it’s a Sunday night at Northfield where you wouldn’t think anything like that. Typically, Sunday nights around most areas, restaurants and so on, Bill, are pretty quiet nights. In defense of anybody going out on a night like that, I mean, I could see a Friday, Saturday, something along those lines. But a Sunday night, I mean, this is one of those things where most people probably are not planning for that. All right. I’m out of time. I’ve always enjoyed the conversation, Bill. Really quick, give folks your website where if they want to reach out to you, they can.
SPEAKER 10 :
All right. It’s prep2protectco.com. We’ve got some gun classes coming up here. We are all in accordance with the new state laws, so we can get you settled in that direction as well. But we also take care of lots of other things. So reach out to that website and check out. You know, the phone number and give us a call and just ask us how we can help you.
SPEAKER 03 :
Awesome. Bill, as always, I appreciate it. We will not be here next week, guys, because that is Independence Day, 4th of July, of course. So we’ll have that day off. So, Bill, we’ll talk to you the week after.
SPEAKER 10 :
Talk to you the week after.
SPEAKER 03 :
All right. Have a great one. We appreciate it very much. And, yeah, we’ll be right back. Don’t go anywhere, folks. Ready-radio.com. This is KLZ 560.
SPEAKER 04 :

All right, Ready Radio, KLZ 560. And yes, I appreciate Bill joining us on a routine basis. We’ve become very much a part of the program, which I appreciate. And again, his website, Prep2, the number two, so Prep2ProtectCO.com. And again, for a lot of you that might find yourself in that situation I was just talking about, where you may be out and about and have no idea that, you know, what’s going to happen is going to happen, and pretty soon you’re engulfed literally by, in some cases, could be hundreds or thousands of teens, and you really are caught off guard wondering, okay, what do I do next? Be thinking through that and be thinking about that even when you would go into a store, movie theater, something along those lines. If I were to walk back out, how would I handle this particular situation? Again, that situational awareness we cannot speak highly enough of. So that’s it for Ready Radio this week. Have a great rest of your day and weekend as well. Ready Radio, KLZ 560.
