Have you noticed? We’re going to jump into some of the details that we’ve learned over the past 24 hours. Also coming up in today’s show. We’re going to talk about a new story that really has you scratching your head even more so on who was actually in charge during the Joe Biden years in the White House. Fox News is reporting on a story where they have received some palm cards. These are basically hand-sized cue cards that were used by then-President Joe Biden when he would be meeting with people. Supposedly, these cards would have the person’s name. their bio, if they had served in government before, and a photo so that he was not to get them confused with others. Some of the cards that they have been able to recover were for people like Senator Chuck Schumer, Hillary Clinton. Now, wouldn’t you think that Joe Biden would at least know who Hillary Clinton is? Would at least know who Chuckie Schumer is? It’s very scary to read this story, folks. We’re going to talk about that some, too. And also in today’s show, the old saying that the rich get richer. Elon Musk is proving that to be true. Listen to some of the numbers now. In just 2020, just five years ago, Elon Musk’s net worth was $24.5 billion, this according to Forbes. So day two. First off, did you sleep okay last night? Did you worry about what may not be around today? The finger-pointing game that Washington often plays is at breakneck speed. A lot of fingers being pointed of whose fault this is. So let’s kind of drill down a bit. Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, for some reason, I never know why these guys go on with people like George Stephanopoulos to begin with, but he chose to go on ABC’s Good Morning America to talk about the shutdown with George Stephanopoulos. Stephanopoulos came out swinging, accusing Republicans of shutting down the government. It’s all the Republicans’ fault because they don’t want to offer the extension of the Obamacare benefits, the tax credits. Now, Speaker Johnson fired back. In cut number four, he called that absurd and said that Democrats are trying to use the shutdown to sneak in free health care for illegal immigrants. Here’s the exchange.
SPEAKER 11 :
The Democratic proposal is designed to prevent millions of Americans from losing their health insurance, losing Medicaid coverage, or paying higher health care premiums. Why are you against that?
SPEAKER 16 :
That’s an absurd statement, what you said there. Let’s be clear about what happened last night, George. No, George, let me tell you what happened last night. Everybody can go and review the facts for themselves. 44 Senate Democrats voted to reject a clean, nonpartisan, continuing funding resolution to keep the United States government open. The Democrats said instead that they wanted to give health care to illegal aliens instead of keeping critical services provided for the American citizens. That’s what happened, plain and simple. Every Democrat in the House, except one, voted against the clean, continuing resolution. It was nonpartisan in nature. There are no policy writers on it that Republicans favor. And it’s exactly what Chuck Schumer and other Democrats voted for in March. But they’ve changed their tune. They changed their tune because Chuck Schumer is having political problems right now. That’s just a simple fact. And everybody knows that he’s trying to outrun the far left portion of his base. So he’s decided to inflict pain on the American people.
SPEAKER 11 :
Here are the facts. The proposal does not provide health care for illegal immigrants. Illegal immigrants cannot buy health care under the Affordable Care Act. They cannot receive health care subsidies. Illegal immigrants are ineligible for Medicare, Medicaid, and the Children’s Health Program. The Democratic bill does not make them eligible.
SPEAKER 17 :
Now, this is sort of a, all right, he said, she said type thing. As you heard, Stephanopoulos pushing back on what the Speaker of the House is saying. saying that’s not true, illegal immigrants can’t get Obamacare or Medicaid. But Speaker Johnson said, hang on, Democrats’ proposal would roll back provisions that Republicans passed earlier this year in President Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill. We all know what was in the One Big Beautiful Bill when it comes to Obamacare health care services to illegal immigrants. That law, the Speaker pointed out, cleaned up the Medicaid rolls. There was a lot of criticism when that was happening, remember? So here’s the deal. Democrats say that they just want to extend the Obamacare subsidies for working Americans. Republicans say Democrats are using that as a Trojan horse. Well, Vice President J.D. Vance kind of cleared things up later, referencing the conversation between the speaker and George Stephanopoulos. His quote was, Trump’s bill shut off that spigot, and Democrats want to turn it back on. Here’s the vice president giving his version of the story.

Well, Mr. Vice President, one of the lies that continues to be told is that they’re not giving funding to illegals health care. Can you explain to our audience why that’s not true?
SPEAKER 02 :
Yeah, so this is a Democrat talking point. They say we’re not actually trying to give health care benefits to illegal aliens. And here’s why it’s not true. There are two Biden era programs that explicitly gave the taxpayer health care money to illegal aliens that we turned off when President Trump took over in January. Program number one is there’s a lot of emergency health care at hospitals that are provided to illegal aliens. That was funded by the federal government. We turned off that funding because, of course, we want American citizens to benefit from those hospital services, not to be taxed, and then to have those hospital services go to illegal aliens. The second of which is the Biden administration gave mass parole to millions upon millions of illegal aliens, and then they simultaneously made those parolees illegal. eligible for healthcare benefits funded by taxpayers. In the one big beautiful bill, President Trump and congressional Republicans turned off that money to healthcare funding for illegal aliens. The Democrats want to turn it back on. And in their initial proposal, the first thing that they put out to reopen the government, they actually turned that money for healthcare benefits for illegal aliens back on. So it’s not something that we made up. It’s not a talking point. It is in the text of the bill that they initially gave to us to reopen the government. It’s preposterous for them to run away from it now. But look, let’s set that all to the side. Let’s open up the government. Let’s negotiate on all these health care policy issues. Obviously, we’re not going to support health care benefits for illegal aliens, but we will work with them to lower health care costs for American citizens if they’re willing to do so.

One of the things that Republicans are also doing, and they’re doing in the White House press briefing, it’s a running sound of Democrats talking about shutdowns in the past, including sound of you. This is the type of thing you’ve said about shutdowns in the past. Let’s listen.

What if I persuaded my caucus to say I’m going to shut the government down, I’m going to not pay our bills unless I get my way? It’s a politics of idiocy, of confrontation, of paralysis. Shutting down government over a policy difference is self-defeating. We can never hold American workers hostage again. While the CR bill is very bad, The potential for a shutdown has consequences for America that are much, much worse. Therefore, I will vote to keep the government open and not shut it down. That was you three times in the past.

What’s it? Yeah, that was in March, John, before they had done these horrible things to health care, before they had introduced these rescissions, which would allow them to ignore the budget process. And the bottom line is when I was majority leader, we had 13 times to vote on a budget. Do you know why there was no shutdown? We sat and negotiated with the Republicans every time. They got some things. We got some things. They did not negotiate at all. They refused, despite repeated entreaties by Hakeem and me, to go to the White House to sit down with Thune and Johnson.

Don’t you just love it? Oh, well, that was then. Now it’s different. I mean, he was pretty convincing, wasn’t he? That shutdowns are bad. We all know they are. But suddenly it’s okay. It’s okay because he’s not majority leader anymore, and he can’t just get his way. Don’t you just love the hypocrisy of people like Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries and all the Democrat leaders? But it gets even better. During the 2020 primary, Charlie Hurt, this is cut number six, asked which of the candidates supported giving free health care to illegal immigrants here. Here’s Charlie Hurt.

Let’s remember back in the 2020 primary, in the Democrat primary for 2020, all the Democrats running, there were about a dozen of them on stage, were asked which ones of them supported giving free health care to illegal aliens paid for by legal taxpayers. 100% of them, every single one of them raised their hands. So I don’t even know why they’re pretending to refute this and to claim that this isn’t what they’re doing, because this is exactly what they promised their voters, their Democrat voters, that they would do. This is what they are totally committed to.

And look, what I’m thankful for on this thankful Thursday, if you’re just joining us, I explained earlier, on Thursdays quite often on my local show, heard on 98.9 WORD in the upstate of South Carolina, Western North Carolina. We use Thursdays to talk about what we’re thankful for, and I’ve had many of you this morning text me and email me. And let me invite you to join that conversation, what you’re thankful for. And I’m so thankful for Donald Trump. I’m thankful that the American people came to their senses. It’s just really scary to think about Kamala Harris being in the Oval Office. It’s scary to think about the fact she was vice president, knowing the condition that we now know that Joe Biden was in. Texter says it’s hard to fault Joe Biden for using cue cards. After all, most people won’t forget who Hillary Clinton is. Now, what Texter’s talking about is this story that we’re talking about today. It’s stirring fresh questions about Joe Biden’s ability to serve. So here’s what Fox News is reporting, because according to them, they have obtained a set of palm cards, which are basically just cue cards. How many of you use cue cards in school for different things? We all use notes, and I’m not knocking that. I mean, look, I’ve got notes in front of me right now. So there’s nothing – there’s not a problem with that. But Joe Biden’s palm cards were used at public events – And they were detailed with a photo of the person, their name, a short bio, and in the description, why Joe Biden might know them. Now, again, that’s not unusual. Let’s say I had been invited to Joe Biden’s White House. Well, there would be nothing wrong with him having a cue card about that guy from South Carolina, Joey Hudson, whom he doesn’t know. although we met years ago at a Crimestoppers dinner. I’ll tell you about that in a minute. But everyone that Joe Biden came in contact with, according to the Fox News report, he had to have a cue card. Even for people like Hillary Clinton and Chuck Schumer. Reportedly, Fox News has a cue card for Hillary. that explains, has a picture of her, and explains that she’s the former First Lady and the former Secretary of State. He had one for Denzel Washington, the famous actor. He had one for Senate, at the time, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer. Now, if Joe Biden did not remember who Chuck Schumer was… who Hillary Clinton was, he’s in worse shape than we thought he was. He was in a lot worse shape than we thought he was. Now, their defense is, well, we just wanted to be sure. We didn’t want to leave anything for chance. We wanted to support the president. Does that sound like, does that sound normal to you? That the president of the United States would have to have a cue card to remind him who the majority leader at the time of the U.S. Senate was? A leader in his party? And surely, now I get that the texter made a good point, we all want to forget Hillary, but evidently Joe Biden did forget Hillary. Joe Biden had to be reminded who Hillary Clinton was. Again, a former Biden staffer is defending the card, saying that this is standard operating procedure, that briefing materials always include who’s attending, their background, and potential questions. Then that’s the other thing. Evidently, if a member of the media was going to be there, they would have any potential questions that that reporter might ask Joe Biden with answers. Now, remember, this comes on the heels of the investigation of Joe Biden’s auto pen, because we’re really not sure who was running things, particularly that last year of his presidency. and especially the last few months of his presidency when he was issuing all of the clemency orders and pardons that the auto pen was signing. When you combine that with these palm cards, it really paints a picture of a presidency where staff was carefully managing a man that evidently could not remember who he was interacting with. So if he could remember names of people within his own party, did he even know who the other world leaders were? Did he know who was calling the shots in Russia, in Korea, in China? Does this not scare you even more than that? Now, again, thank goodness on this thankful Thursday, I’m thankful that Joe Biden is no longer in the White House and that Donald Trump is. I’m even more thankful that Kamala Harris is not in the White House and that Donald Trump is. I mean, you’ve seen Donald Trump. He thrives on unscripted incidences. He loves to walk out to a group of reporters and talk with them with no note cards. I mean, I get a little nervous when he’s giving a speech, and it’s pretty obvious to me when he is going off the teleprompters. I’m thinking, oh, my, what’s he going to come up with next? But we went from Joe Biden having these palm cards with every little detail of what he might be confronted with to – Donald Trump, and again, if you’re watching on the Salem News Channel, we have some B-roll right now of the president standing there talking to a group of people, unsolicited, unprompted, just off the cuff, because that’s what he loves to do. Well, you know, these illegals, they’re letting them come here, and they’re lavishing them with all kinds of money, and they’re breaking our laws left and right, and nothing’s being done to them. But I’m an electrician, so I’m licensed. And I am doing some work for this one gentleman. He’s from South Africa. And he’s done all the documentation to be an American citizen in this country. And he said it’s a lot of money just to go through that process. But they’re letting all these illegals come in here and let them break our laws and not do anything. And our our congressmen and senators are constantly breaking our laws and they’re not being held accountable. But we have Americans going through the justice system every day and everything from a parking ticket to murder. And they have to go before a judge and they and they pay for their crimes. But no, these people, they just get away with it and nothing’s done. So I think it’s you know, our country is going to explode. And when it does, it ain’t going to be going to be pretty.

Well, and I hope you’re wrong on that last part. I hope we don’t explode. I hope that President Trump is able to get everything under control in these four years that he’s going to have in office. And I think he will. I mean, we’re already seeing major strides as opposed to what Joe Biden did. And you’re right. The Biden-Harris administration coddled. the illegals. They made it attractive for them to come into our country with plane tickets to any city they chose, other transportation, bus tickets. They gave them cell phones. They gave them visa cards with a balance on there to spend for food. They gave them free hotel rooms. So with that in mind, who wouldn’t want to come Who wouldn’t want to snatch up their family, uproot their family, and come to a better land? They’re going to get free health care. They’re going to get better jobs if they want to work at all. If they don’t want to work, we’ll give it to them. I mean, who would turn that down? You can’t blame them. Well, one little girl that was shot in the head in the head. is um in the hospital and um the father locally was on tv and he said they’ve been getting prayer requests from around the world people praying for her and they just had it in the paper the local papers and they’re saying that she’s recovering and they’re saying it’s miraculous she’s wow she’s she’s gonna be better so i just thought it was that you should know that that prayer is powerful and we have a good god and we should be thankful for that

I heard somebody talking, you know, if I can’t live by my budget, I’d lose a little bit more than my house. I’m afraid my wife would go, too. And she’s from Brazil. This girl can cook. So my point was just going to be that I heard somebody saying earlier that, oh, they should be holding their pay. These people are well-to-do. They don’t even pay attention to their pay. So I wouldn’t touch them there. I know what people value that have a little bit of money, and that’s going to be their time.

And so what I would do is I would make them all have to stay there. I’d give them a day off, but I’d have them pull 60-hour weeks, six of those days a week, and I’d have them sit there and work it out until they work it out.

Well, I know you’re talking about the government shutdown and everything right now, but I’m caught up in this Candace Owens conspiracy thing that she says she has dug into deeply with all her, I don’t know, her association with other people and everything and the assassination. Yeah.
SPEAKER 17 :
Yeah, Ty, there’s all kind of conspiracy things. And look, I don’t know what Candace Owens, what the issue there is. I think it’s, first off, it’s a sad, sad thing that we lost Charlie Kirk. Secondly, all of these conspiracy theories of, well, look at his security. The guy was doing hand signals behind them and that stuff. We lost Charlie Kirk to someone who was mentally ill. It’s just that simple. Unfortunately, and I wish I hadn’t seen it, we saw him shot. We saw the wound. We saw the blood pouring out of his neck. And so the whole idea that it’s not what it appeared to be, I just can’t buy any of that. We lost a great American, a nice young Christian man in Charlie Kirk, and rather than sitting around talking about, well, was he really shot, or did the shooter on top of the building with the rifle, did he shoot him? Why was the guy on top of the building with the rifle to begin with if he didn’t shoot Charlie? Let’s go to Gordon who is in Fayetteville, Georgia. Welcome, Gordon.

Hey, Joey. Listen, I’m a Republican all the way. I vote Republican. I see the Democrats as being the problem not only today but decades in the past and probably decades in the future if they ever get control again. But the one thing in all this budget stuff, as i mentioned to the call screener were 37 trillion in debt but republicans voted for it yep yep they did you know we we’ve had criticisms of the republican party us out here when the tea party came along we were so upset that we kind of formed our grassroots uh party to get those uh people elected. And even at that time, the Republican Party rejected the Tea Party, even attacked the Tea Party. And then I watched that thing with Ilhan Omar the other day. Four Republicans voted not to censure her. So one of the things us voters, us Republicans out here really want, we want a strong leader like Trump. We love the fact that he’s doing all the things that we have wanted the Republican Party to do for 20 years. And we’ll always vote for those people.

Yeah. Well, and Gordon, the reason – and sorry to interrupt – the reason Donald Trump is so popular is he says what he thinks. He’s not a politician where he just dances around his words. If he thinks it, he says it. But he just uses his common sense. I mean, we’ve been talking about budgets. You know, if President Trump is working on building a new project – he has to stay within that budget. If he’s building another Trump Tower somewhere, he has a budget. If he doesn’t stay within that budget, then he loses money. He’s just a business person. He wants our government to be run the same way.

And I’ll tell you, the Republicans out here, that we just love voting for him, and we love voting for very strong conservatives, and we just need a couple more added, and we need a couple removed.

The president this morning started his day on Truth Social saying, I have a meeting today with Russ Voigt, he of the Project 2025 fame, to determine which of the many Democrat agencies, most of which are a political scam, He recommends to be cut, and whether or not those cuts will be temporary or permanent. I can’t believe the radical left Democrats gave me this unprecedented opportunity. They are not stupid people, so maybe this is their way of wanting to quietly and quickly make America great again. President D.J.T. Then he followed up a few minutes later with, Republicans must use this opportunity of Democrat force closure to clear out dead wood, waste, and fraud. Billions of dollars can be saved. Make America great again. And look. Donald Trump is going to take full advantage of this shutdown that the Democrats forced on us. Donald Trump is going to – because he’s granted additional powers within the shutdown where he can move things around. He’s going to strategically do that. He’s going to eliminate some programs. He’s probably going to fire some federal workers because he can, and the Democrats opened it up to allow him to do that. And that’s why we all voted for Donald Trump. last November, why he won overwhelmingly, and why we trust that Donald Trump is truly going to make America great again.
