There is a growing segment of our American society, this so-called new woke aspect, which seeks to redefine the meaning/definition of a man, a real man, a Biblical man.
The definition of a man, by both Biblical and Societal definitions, was clear, not subject to debate or change. There’s a growing segment of our American society, this so-called new woke society, which seeks to redefine the meaning, the definition of a man, a real man, a biblical man. Woke doesn’t like that. The definition of a man by both biblical and societal definitions was clear, and it wasn’t subject to debate or change. That man, created by the great God Jehovah, the great I Am, was created in his image. Isn’t that amazing? And we were to be like him, we men, ordained by God to be the ruler of the planet, that’s a man, and to be head of all things. So said the great God Jehovah, the God of the Old Testament. That man was biologically determined and both sex and gender unchangeable. But a man today, according to the radical, woke element of our society, can both decide and determine his sex or gender, that is, you know, gender identity, and should he choose a different gender identity than male, he can do so, no matter any biblical or biological determinations. Unbelievable, is it not? And that changing definition is today a work in progress. A man today can now be gay, that is homosexual, or bisexual, or transgender, or queer, LGBTQ, or some different alternative with which the individual may identify. Whatever he wants to be, he can be, so says our woke society. I think it is really a tragedy what is happening to God’s first man, his creation, the Adam creation. This new definition of man makes him not like him, the great creator, but made in man’s image and with man’s definition. Wrong. In my view, that’s dead wrong. What do you think? Can that happen? And if it does, is it wrong? What do you think? But let us review what the Bible says about a real man. He is called upon to be strong, not only in body, physically, but in mind, and in will, and in spirit, and in soul. The real man is possessed of a God-made body, which is, as described by the Bible, the temple of the Holy Spirit. Men should never forget that. The Scriptures tell us that our body, created by God, is a temple in which dwells the Holy Spirit of God. Well, we better be careful of that temple, don’t you think? That physical body of a real man should be honored, respected, cared for, and kept in the best physical shape possible, never forgetting that it is the housing of the Spirit, the Holy Spirit of the great divine triumvirate. Wow! That real man, like our Lord Jesus Christ, may enjoy the fruit of the grape, the wine, the wine which Jesus himself drank and made. And if a man so chooses to do that, he should never, ever be drunk, be drunken. Drinking wine or alcohol to excess is the ruination of the temple of the Holy Spirit. No real man can function mentally or spiritually under the influence of drugs or alcohol. None. No one can do that. The real biblical man respects his body and his sexuality and will not be given to adultery, fornication, lascivious living, and always respects, protects, and honors marital intimacy. He is a man with strong fidelity and ultimate respect for one woman, one wife. If you’re a man, boy, I hope that’s you. Well, if not, that’s what the Bible says you should be. The real man constantly strives to learn, to educate himself, and in all things asks for the wisdom for his life and decision-making which only God Almighty can give. I do, and I hope you do. The request for God-given wisdom is constant, continuous, and totally sincere in all things, everything, everything. God honors the sincere request of any real man for his, God’s, wisdom. Ask for it. And that real man is strong spiritually, learned in the Bible, and always learning, studying, sharing, witnessing, and teaching, always growing in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. And that is the only way that man can be a real father and a real husband and train up his children in the way they should go. The way of the Lord. Amen. The real biblical man is a protector of the Christian faith. And to that extent, politically active. You have to be today. He renders unto Caesar, this real man, the things which rightly belong to Caesar. He’s a respectful citizen. but he demands morality, truth, respect, and honesty in all things political from those privileged to rule us. The real man is a watchdog, a watchman on the wall, making certain that Caesar, our politicians, function in the way that Caesar should, so that the things of God Almighty are never interfered with, never. The real man discharges his duties as head of household. That ethical principle has become more unpopular today. Far too many men abandon their responsibilities, and any substitute for a real father is never, ever enough. It’s inadequate, and most importantly, it’s not biblical. If the real man is privileged to have a real family, then that man, that husband, that father, that friend, And that teacher spends time, spends time, quality time, consistent, regular, and respectful time with every member of that household lovingly together as one family unit, but also lovingly and respectfully individually. You know, that’s hard. If you’re a father, I wonder if you do that. Do you spend time with your family as a unit talking, loving, sharing? And do you spend time individually with wife, with son, with daughter, individually? You should. Only by implementing both together and individual can the individuals of that family thrive and grow under the influence of the head of the household, the real man. The real man is truthful. That biblical man, he does not lie. He is known for telling the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. And he’s not afraid to say the truth. And he is transparent in all things, or at least he tries to be. Any in the family, even the youngest, can sense hypocrisy. Surely you know that. The smallest child knows hypocrisy, knows when daddy means what he says. and can even more easily ascertain the lie of any kind. Nothing, but nothing sabotages the credibility and integrity of a man, a father, a husband, than a lie. Nothing. The real man tells the truth, and tells the truth all the time. The biblical man and father never fails to discipline when necessary. That’s hard today. And so many men just ignore that responsibility. That discipline is not physical, no, not physical, but lovingly confrontational. It’s dialogue. It’s pointing out wrong. It’s an appropriate punishment for doing wrong, not physical. That real man and the real woman of the household must be living examples of any rules and regulations which are established for the operation of the family and the household. The real man and, of course, the real woman, they together, must spend quiet time and thoughtful evaluation and in the study of Scripture and so much more to every family member. The Bible Old and New Testaments has so much to say about a man, a real man. It is difficult if not impossible to be a real man without that biblical knowledge and inspiration and the encouragement of what a real man is today from Holy Scripture and the Holy Spirit himself. Today the challenges of this world make it far too easy to compromise to surrender and succumb to the definitions and the pleasures and the lusts of modern society. It is our prayer, my prayer, our revival prayer, that the biblical man, the man God and our Lord Jesus Christ intended, reemerge, be revived, and become the shining light for society and for any and every family, his very own. And once again, both do and become the person which God intended. That man should always be humble before the Lord, ready to be disciplined by Him, to admit wrong, to apologize to Him, to ask forgiveness, even to shed a tear, and to show love and respect to everyone, and most especially his wife and his family. No man can be head of a household unless he sincerely loves his wife. If a man, a biblical man, loves and loves like the Bible intended, there is nothing in life any better, nothing, no greater force than that of a real, biological, loving, biblical man. If you are male, I hope and pray you are one. God bless you in that very solemn prayer. Wonderful task.
