SPEAKER 04 :
This is Rush to Reason.
SPEAKER 19 :
You are going to shut your damn yapper and listen for a change because I got you pegged, sweetheart. You want to take the easy way out because you’re scared. And you’re scared because if you try and fail, there’s only you to blame. Let me break this down for you. Life is scary. Get used to it. There are no magical fixes.
SPEAKER 04 :
With your host, John Rush.
SPEAKER 13 :
My advice to you is to do what your parents did!
SPEAKER 09 :
Get a job, Turk! You haven’t made everybody equal. You’ve made them the same, and there’s a big difference!
SPEAKER 14 :
Let me tell you why you’re here. You’re here because you know something. What you know you can’t explain, but you feel it. You’ve felt it your entire life, that there’s something wrong with the world. You don’t know what it is, but it’s there. It is this feeling that has brought you to me.
SPEAKER 10 :
Are you crazy? Am I? Or am I so sane that you just blew your mind? It’s Rush to Reason with your host, John Rush. Presented by High Five Plumbing, Heating, Cooling, and Electric, where every call ends with a high five.
SPEAKER 15 :
All right, we are back. Hour number two, Rush to Reason, Denver’s Afternoon Rush, KLZ 560. Appreciate you all listening today. Up next, Virginia Allen joining us, Daily Signal. Virginia, welcome back. How are you?
SPEAKER 18 :
I am well. Great to be with you.
SPEAKER 15 :
Always a joy having you, and we were going to talk today and still will about some of the deportation flights that are starting to happen, and we’ve seen some of the results. But before we get to that, and I didn’t get a lot of time in the last hour to discuss and acknowledge the plane crash last night in D.C., American flight 5342, and we all saw what happened, and unfortunately, no survivors, and just a tragic night last night and day today.
SPEAKER 18 :
It’s just really surreal, especially for all of us that live here in Washington, D.C., that fly in and out of Reagan Airport quite frequently, that drive across those bridges that were seen in the videos that were posted online daily. So it really feels obviously so bizarre for anything like this to happen at this point in history when we have so much technology and our aircraft are equipped so well in order to avoid this kind of thing. But then especially in Washington, D.C., where regulations over who and what flies over D.C. are so stringent. So I think the American people will be really eager to have answers. And of course, there will be a full investigation. But so much of the country right now is just grieving.
SPEAKER 15 :
These are
SPEAKER 18 :
So many lives, over 60 lives lost in a moment and just nothing you expect.
SPEAKER 15 :
No, not at all. On the same token, I’m not trying to be coy for all of you listening. And yes, it’s a very tragic thing. Although life goes on, business has to take place. Things need to keep going. In regards to our conversation about illegal aliens, especially really the first ones are rounding up, as you know, Virginia, are the hardcore criminals. That’s what I’m going to call them that have come across the border. And the reality is a lot of them are being rounded up as we speak, in some cases being flown back to their original country of origin, which, by the way, is where they should. On the same token, some of them, and I read today, were Guantanamo is now going to get opened back up, and there’s going to be some of those that go there. I don’t know, and I have not read. Maybe you know the criteria as to where. They’ll go. I’m guessing that some of them that end up in Guantanamo have probably committed crimes here that they need to have restitution for. And I’m guessing that will be the criteria. But I’m not an expert there.
SPEAKER 18 :
Well, yeah. I mean, Guantanamo, it’s really operating as a holding facility when you’re trying to do mass deportation like President Trump is trying to do, where we have 10 million people who have entered our country illegally over the past four years. And hundreds of thousands of those individuals are criminals, many of whom very violent criminals. Right. There has to be a process of, okay, we’re getting these people on planes, we’re taking them, but then you kind of have to process them out of the system, figure out, okay, where is their home country? Because they’re not always shocking, but criminal legal aliens are not always honest.
SPEAKER 15 :
I was going to say, they’re not really forthright in where their home of origin is, right?
SPEAKER 18 :
Exactly, exactly. So all of that takes time to get that information out. So Guantanamo is set up as a facility in order to, you know, instantly they can take 10,000 of these folks and, you know, you give them a few weeks and they can be prepped to take many, many more thousand. So it’s a staging area that then flights would go out. Makes sense.
SPEAKER 15 :
Thank you. That’s some good clarification on my end that I didn’t. Quite really, you know, and again, there’s so many things going on right now. And I try to read as much as I can. That was one of those areas where I’ll just be frank. I did not go through all the details and read exactly what that’s going to be used for. So thank you very much for the clarification. And I think what you just said a moment ago is very true as well, because one of the things I was wondering, I’m like, OK, wait a minute. You’re a member of a cartel, which in a lot of cases they are, or you’re a member of some well-known gang that, by the way, operates on a worldwide basis. What incentive is there for me at that point, if I’m one of these individuals, Virginia, to say where I came from?
SPEAKER 18 :
Absolutely. It’s interesting. I remember being down at the southern border, gosh, this was probably almost two years ago now, and just finding ID cards, passports from countries literally all over the world. And that was very, very common. It’s a very common practice that illegal aliens would kind of shed that identity because they didn’t, for one, they didn’t want to have evidence of having passed through multiple countries where they could have stopped to claim asylum. Right. But then also they didn’t want their identity to be known often to the U.S. government. So they would throw those documents away just before crossing. And so absolutely, when you’re talking about arresting criminals, they’re probably not going to be super honest. I watched one video of an arrest and, you know, the gentleman saying, I’m not going to say anything without a lawyer. So, you know, it’s. going to present many, many challenges. And I think with Tom Holman at the helm of Sport Bazaar, he’s certainly up for the task and has meant no words about saying, hey, the process might be long, it might be hard. At the end of the day, we’re going to get this done. But it is a process and it’s a tricky one.
SPEAKER 15 :
Absolutely. And one of those things that I was thinking in the back of my mind, I haven’t said much of this on air because I’m thinking, OK, to your point, a lot of these folks end up here. They have shed blood. and or maybe even picked up new identity along the way. I mean, we have to remember these are hardened, in a lot of cases, hardened criminals. We’re not talking about, you know, the folks that are doing petty theft and things like that, Virginia. We’re talking about those literal hardened criminals. Some of them ended up here in Aurora, Colorado, by the way, and you saw what happened here with the big bust that happened on Sunday morning early. Reality is these are not nice people, let’s just say that. And so I’ve always wondered, okay, I get all of that, but how do you determine who’s who? I mean, these guys don’t have to tell you the truth as to who they are and their name and where they’ve come from. I mean, do we have a system of, you know, identification through fingerprints and things along those lines? I mean, do you know, Virginia, how that works?
SPEAKER 18 :
Yeah, so it is much easier when we are working with criminal legal aliens who are originally from countries that are friendly with the U.S. Because countries that are friendly with the U.S., some of them will share their criminal databases with us. So we have access to the information that they have. We can run fingerprints through those databases. But not all countries do that. And that’s where it gets tricky. And that’s where you need that additional intelligence. that it gets much more complicated and takes a lot longer when you’re dealing with countries that don’t want to share information with the United States or work with us at all, for that matter.
SPEAKER 15 :
Makes total sense. And that’s where I think to a lot of people, they think, oh, it’s easy. Go round them up and send them back. Yeah, time out. for a moment. This is a bigger chore than what anybody thinks, especially, and I want to make sure I add this in, Virginia, especially given the open border policy we’ve had under the last administration and the reality of the fact that, I don’t know any other way to say it, We’ve literally given them not only an open door, but then in a lot of ways have literally hidden them, if you would, or given them the ability to just stay under the radar. In fact, gone one step further, here in Colorado, we’ve had our news media, we’ve had our governor. We’ve had officials in the city of Aurora where these particular gangs have hung out. And the reality is we, as conservatives, myself included on this program, have been told, oh, you guys are Looney Tunes. You have no idea what you’re talking about. These gangs don’t exist. This is just a figment of your imagination. There’s nothing nefarious going on there. So literally, you’ve had an administration and the cronies thereof basically telling the rest of us that, oh, there’s nothing to see here.
SPEAKER 18 :
Yeah, it’s unbelievable when we know there’s MS-13 gang members active across the United States. Trende Aragua, a prison gang founded in Venezuela, active across the United States, which you all know very well in Colorado. So, I mean, this is a widespread issue, and you’re absolutely right. I mean, it’s bizarre in some ways to see these states, these cities, who have said, no, we’re not going to participate anymore. with the federal government in deporting legal aliens. In the case of California, I mean, they have put together literally a flesh fund of $25 million in order to help provide legal services to criminal legal aliens and illegal aliens in general to avoid deportation. I mean, talk about rolling out the welcome mat to criminal legal aliens to say, Hey, it’s okay. You can just come here. I mean, if I lived in one of those cities, I think I would just be so incredibly offended that you’re literally welcoming criminals into my city at what cost? At the cost of my safety, my family, my kids? It’s unbelievable.
SPEAKER 15 :
I fully agree. Daily Signal, again, for those of you listening, please follow them. In this case, Virginia is the news producer for Daily Signal and host of the Daily Signal podcast and Problematic Women, so I would encourage you to listen to those things. And, again, go to the Daily Signal, subscribe. Actually, if you do that, it shows up in your inbox pretty much every day, Virginia, which we appreciate you doing, by the way.
SPEAKER 18 :
Absolutely. No, it’s our pleasure and joy to keep on reporting on these critical issues. I had the privilege just recently to sit down with Borders R. Tom Holman on the Digital Signal podcast. So if you’re looking for somewhere to start and you’re fascinated by this issue, start with that conversation because we dig into all the details of his plans and what the priorities will be for these deportations.
SPEAKER 15 :
All right. Last question I have for you. And this is a little bit off topic, but because Daily Signal and the fact that you’re what I consider and I’m sure you would define yourself as an alternative to mass media news source. And given what the White House press secretary just said a couple of days ago about now allowing those of you like that a seat at the table. Question I have is, have you had a seat at the table prior to some of these press conferences inside of the White House? And if not, will you now take advantage of that?
SPEAKER 18 :
Absolutely. So we are so excited for these changes and we experienced the day with people. My team experienced firsthand being pushed out of the white house under the Biden administration. My colleague, Fred Lucas had white house press credentials, um, and then lost them under, under Biden. And so now to have an administration that is saying with welcome arms, Hey guys, come on back in. We want these alternative media sources. is really exciting. And here at The Daily Signal, we are going to benefit, but not only us, so many small news agencies and even podcasters. I was excited to hear that, that they’re going to be bringing podcasters in so many ways. That’s the new source, one of the new sources of news that people are relying on. So it is a new day in the world of media, and it’s exciting to see an administration that’s really embracing that.
SPEAKER 15 :
Well, we appreciate all that you do, and I’m sure we’ll be hearing some of those things, you know, straight from the horse’s mouth, if you would, in Virginia. I appreciate all you guys are doing, and we’ll keep having you back on.
SPEAKER 18 :
Absolutely. Thanks so much.
SPEAKER 15 :
You’re very welcome. Appreciate it. And, yeah, I wanted to ask that on purpose because I had a feeling that that was the case with them. They were probably one of the, what, 430 people that had press passes revoked under the Biden administration, and those will be coming back, and we’ll be able to hear directly from them. them you know from daily signal and others when it comes to some of the press briefings and so on hi-fi plumbing and electrical is next and again folks if you’ve had any issues with your plumbing fresh water coming in going out freezing or you just want to do some upgrades they’ve got a great deal right now when it comes to hot water heaters and garage or sorry and garbage disposals i should say and i mean water heaters yes i know it’s hot when it’s done that’s why it’s called a water heater give them a call today 877 we high five

SPEAKER 08 :
Putting reason into your afternoon drive, this is John Rush.
SPEAKER 15 :
All right, in our next segment, we’ve got a lieutenant colonel, retired, that will be coming on. We’ll talk a little bit more about the plane crash that happened last night in D.C., Dulles Airport and right outside. And, again, I don’t know exactly what he’ll have to say or what he’ll be able to fill us in on. Most of you know the story. You’ve seen some of the reports. You’ve probably seen even some of the videos. And, again, that was American Airlines Flight 5342. And what we know is they were on descent. Everything had been going well, no problems. And there was a Black Hawk helicopter that was doing some training maneuvers. And this is the part that drives me crazy. All of the stupid conspiracy theories that are out there that I’ve had to read through today, please, for the love of God, until you know exactly what went on, please refrain from being stupid. And I mean that sincerely. Please refrain from being stupid because most of that comes from our side, not others. And I understand that, you know, Black Hawk helicopter is equipped with all sorts of, you know, gear and this, that and the other. But you weren’t there. You have no idea what was going on. You don’t know what the control tower had told them. There’s some reports that about 30 seconds prior to impact, the control tower had asked them to look for an incoming plane. Again, folks, you don’t have that exact timeline. You have no idea whether that’s accurate or not. You don’t know what was going on in the cockpit of the Blackhawk at that time. You don’t know if they were using night vision or not. You have no idea what was going on at that given time. You’re speculating. And I’ve read all of the stupid comments on, well, you know, this was a direct hit. This was planned. This was this. This was that. You don’t have the foggiest idea. So please don’t be stupid and post those things because you don’t know. Literally, you do not know. Don’t be a moron. And refrain from reposting something else as much as you might want it to be true. Until you know what it is, don’t post it. Don’t be that person. Don’t be a moron. And by the way, today I asked several people that basically fly for a living or have and asking their opinion as to what could have happened. And, you know, we’ll hear that from Lieutenant Colonel Allen here in just a few minutes. Allen Campbell is going to join us. But I’m guessing he’ll likely have the same type of advice for you all that I have right now is until we know more details on it, refrain from saying things that would be extremely ignorant and stupid at the end of the day. Joe, what’s going on?
SPEAKER 03 :
John, as you know, I’m a licensed commercial pilot, and I was able to listen to the exchange between the control tower and the helicopter pilot about an hour ago. And it was in real time. There was no delays or anything. And at one point, so the tower is communicating with the helicopter pilot, and she asks the pilot, the helicopter pilot, do you have the landing aircraft in sight? And the helicopter pilot says, affirmative. And then she replies to him, maintain visual separation. And the helicopter pilot replies, Roger. I then looked at the radar tracks of the two aircraft. The landing aircraft was coming straight in for the runway. He’s just on what’s called a glide slope coming right straight into the runway. And the helicopter that had been over the Potomac River, which is right parallel to and adjacent to this runway, you watch the radar track of the helicopter. For some reason… And he’s flying in the exact opposite direction. The jet’s coming in from one direction, let’s call it right to left, and the helicopter is going left to right. And had he stayed on his track, they would have just passed each other like two ships in the night. But as he passes beyond the approach end of the runway, the landing run, he turns into the path of the landing jet and T-bones him. So clearly when he said, I have the aircraft in sight, if he did, he had a different aircraft in sight.
SPEAKER 15 :
Correct. And my gut feeling is, as busy as that is and everything going on, and Joe, I know we don’t have these things happen very often for lots of reasons, and you know more about that than even I. There’s lots of things that take place, and there’s lots of preemptive things that can happen inside of the cockpits and so on. But Joe, at the end of the day, people still make mistakes.
SPEAKER 03 :
They do. And John, I’ve had some near misses. You know, I’ve probably flown in and out of Centennial Airport, I don’t know, 500 times because it was my home airport. And I’ve had several near misses. I’ll give you an example. I was coming straight in one day and it was a calm day. So normally you take off and land and normally all the traffic goes in the same direction because you always take off and land into the wind. So landing aircraft and departing aircraft normally take off. But on this particular day, it was calm. And one pilot had asked to depart on the same runway that I was coming in, been cleared to land on. So he’s taking off at me. So the tower controller cleared the pilot immediate right turn after liftoff. And I’m coming in. I’ve got wing lights, and they’re back and forth, like flashing left, right, left, right, left, right. And I’m coming straight in, and I see this guy, and I’m watching for him. He doesn’t make the turn as instructed by the controller. And the controller who has radar can see both of us, even though she may not be looking in our direction. She’s got a radar screen that shows, you know, every aircraft in and around the airport. She doesn’t notice that this guy has not made the turn. So I have to take evasive action because this guy is coming straight at me. And then I radioed the tower. I said tower just had a near miss. You know, the departing aircraft, you know, did not make the turn. So, yes, that’s one of several examples, John, but that’s the most. Stark won. It was on a clear day, sunny day, not a cloud in the sky. And he made the mistake of not following the controller’s instruction to make an immediate right turn. And she didn’t notice on her screen that he didn’t make the turn. you know, there’s two compounding errors.
SPEAKER 15 :
And we’ve seen some, you know, I’m not trying to, you know, make light of last night by any means, Joe, because I wouldn’t do that. But we’ve seen in the past several years, lots of near misses that have happened under the watch of the current, you know, FAA control tower folk and so on. And again, you have to wonder, and I think Donald Trump was alluding to this today, even, you know, how much has the the dei hiring thing and i’ve got my own personal story of somebody that i know very well that didn’t go into that field because of the dei thing that had been implemented you know years ago joe when it came to you had to hire this person versus the most qualified and so you have to wonder because of some of those policies of the past is that part of what happened last night and again i don’t know right and john on that near miss by the way they uh fox they did run a statistic on that
SPEAKER 03 :
We’ve been averaging three near misses. These are three reported near misses. Now, I never filled out, like on this one I just gave you, John, that was clearly a near miss in my case, but it never got recorded. But when there are two commercial jets and there’s a collision, and there are warning systems that will go off in the tower when there’s a near miss, and the tower is required to log those and report those. But there have been we have been averaging three near misses per year for about the past 15 years.
SPEAKER 15 :
Yeah. In other words, unfortunately, it finally happened. And I’m sure from here on out, there will be some most likely. Well, I can already tell you under President Trump, there will be some changes made moving forward. No doubt about that. And I you know, again, we’ve got a special guest, a lieutenant colonel coming on this from the Air Force and the things that we’ll know more of this than than probably possible. you or I do, but when it comes to the Blackhawk, I’m assuming because that’s a military aircraft, it may not have all of the same things communicating back to the tower that a commercial airliner would have. Am I wrong in thinking that?
SPEAKER 03 :
I think you are, John, because, again, he was clearly in communication with the tower, but here’s, I think, a mitigating factor. They were doing night vision training where you put the thing down, and then the night vision, even though it’s good for seeing things on the ground, In my opinion, if you’re looking out the window without those, you’re much easier to distinguish between near and far lights. When you’re looking through night vision, you see a bright spot, but you don’t know if that bright spot is 100 feet away or 1,000 feet away.
SPEAKER 16 :
Correct.
SPEAKER 03 :
And I think his ability to distinguish which aircraft he was looking at was impeded by the fact that he— had his night vision goggles on.
SPEAKER 15 :
I would agree. And again, I’m not, you know, we’ll listen to our next quote-unquote expert because this is something that I’m sure he’s very familiar with because that’s something, Joe, that’s literally, you know, out of my wheelhouse.
SPEAKER 03 :
Well, and one thing, I know you’re going to go, John, I would say that the military should not be conducting night training exercises within five miles of a busy commercial airport.
SPEAKER 15 :
That was my first question, but who am I?
SPEAKER 03 :
No, but, John, it’s common sense. Thank you. I mean, it’s a high traffic area. You know, sometimes they’re like busy, almost like a bee’s nest. I’ve come into Centennial on a Saturday afternoon. John, it’s like a swarm of aircraft. Literally, there’s, you know, on the right, on the left, above you, below you. And I wouldn’t be one of conducting any sort of training exercise within five miles of Boston Logan or Denver International at night. I think that’s just stupid.
SPEAKER 15 :
Well, our next guest flew 21 1⁄2 years in the United States Air Force with over 3,000 hours and then became a commercial airline pilot after that. So I’m sure he’ll have some insight.
SPEAKER 03 :
Okay. John, what time is it coming on?
SPEAKER 15 :
Next, as soon as we’re done with the commercial.
SPEAKER 03 :
All right. I’ll be listening.

Well, thank you for having me. I’m sorry that it’s under circumstances like this.
SPEAKER 15 :
Well, and yeah, thank you so much for joining us, really, on such short notice as well. Author of My Life Above the Clouds. You are, and I said this a moment ago, but for those of you maybe just tuning in here just in the last few minutes here, 21 1⁄2 years, 3,000 hours for the United States Air Force and Florida Air National Guard, and then you also went on to fly commercially for about 37 years. So you know a little bit about what happened last night.
SPEAKER 05 :
Yes, I do. I know about the commercial airplane side of it. I don’t know about the Army helicopter side. But that’s all going to be uncovered. They’re looking into that. They’ll start scripting off the obvious things that weren’t involved. But then they’ll start looking at the specific things that were involved in this. And I just think it’s really bad for the commercial airplane because I think they did everything exactly correct as they were supposed to. I think for some reason the Army got in the way, who knows why, altitude or latitude or whatever it was. They will uncover all of that, but it’s just a tragedy.
SPEAKER 15 :
And this is something where you may know, because I don’t. And I was talking to one of my listeners here a moment ago who’s also a pilot. So we were having a discussion just before you came on. And I maybe I shouldn’t assume, but I’m assuming that the Blackhawk, you know, the Army Blackhawk doesn’t have the same type of avoidance systems and so on that a commercial airliner would have and maybe can’t even communicate back to the tower in that way. Or am I wrong in thinking that?
SPEAKER 05 :
You know, I really don’t know. I flew military airplanes for the Air Force, but the Army Black Hawk, I really don’t know. They were flying VFR, which is visual flight rules. They do that regularly up and down the river there. They were a little bit off the altitude, I think. They were supposed to be down at like 300, 200 feet, and they were up to nearly 400 feet. Who knows why? I’ve also heard stories that they had the night vision goggles on. I don’t know why they would do that with all the lights in the Washington, D.C. area and at that airport. That seems inappropriate, but that will be uncovered in this investigation.
SPEAKER 15 :
And that’s one where, yeah, I’m glad that you mentioned that because, again, I’m not – I’ve never been in the military. I’ve had – Some family members, my son has been. I’ve never experienced night vision, so I have no idea what that looks like outside of TV and movie shows and so on. But what I’ve heard and what I understand is actual light shining at you is actually a deterrent when you have your night vision on. Am I correct in thinking that?
SPEAKER 05 :
I would assume that. We actually wore them down in Panama, and we would fly in a two-seat airplane. So one guy would have the goggles on. The other guy would not have goggles on, and that way you could pretty much cover everything. We actually went up in formation with a drug-carrying airplane, had all of its lights off. The guy with bare eyes could see absolutely nothing. The guy with the night vision goggles could read the numbers on the side. He saw a guy get up and walk down the aisle. He could see him through the windows. The difference is just stunning.
SPEAKER 15 :
Wow, amazing, amazing. And like you say, there’ll be a lot of things, and I’m always one, and I reminded my listeners of this in the last segment, that I’m always one to not judge. I have no idea what actually happened. I’m also not a conspiracy person. I just don’t want to go down those paths. There’s not enough information right now. Again, I just – we don’t know. I mean, I should say I – We, we as a country and as a world right now, just don’t know. We need more information to really determine, you know, what was going on and whose fault, you know, if any. I mean, there’s got to be somebody’s error here in whose was it. I just don’t know at this point.
SPEAKER 05 :
yes and i have some suspicions and they brought up the term dei i wouldn’t even go there yet they’ve got to do all this investigation they’ve got a lot of information and they’ve got to determine what was an issue and what was not an issue and so i think everybody needs to be patient and unfortunately this is good for two or three days and then it kind of loses its steam right they’ll know all about this in a few days they’ve got the recorders on the commercial airplane they’ll have all kinds of information So basically we just need to stay tuned.
SPEAKER 15 :
Now, on the commercial side, and this was a question I did want to ask you because this is where you’ve got a lot of experience. You’re flying, you’re coming in for the landing, you’re doing everything you’re supposed to, and then out of nowhere, all of a sudden, this Blackhawk shows up. I am assuming, and again, I’ve never flown an airplane, something I’ve always wanted to do but never have, but I’m assuming it’s much like being in a car. As you’re entering an intersection, somebody runs a light, and all of a sudden, you’re there, and there isn’t anything you can do. Is this pretty much the similar situation?
SPEAKER 05 :
I would say that pretty much tells the story because the commercial pilots are focused on that runway. That’s a busy airport. I understand they were supposed to land on the north runway, which would take you right off of the river, but they went to the other runway because there was a delayed takeoff or something like that. That’ll all come out. But if they did that, then that put them further to the right, into the middle of the river, further to the north, and that’s what
SPEAKER 15 :
helped the conflict if they’d landed on the normal runway this would have never happened okay i didn’t you know what you just told me something that i had not heard either and that’s that’s great information and you know the other thing too and i did we did talk about this in the last segment this is something i wanted to get your input on as well and again for all of you listening we’re talking to retired lieutenant colonel alan a bullet campbell and has been behind the um How should I say? It’s been behind the windshield of an airplane many, many, many hours. And you could probably tell us total how many that is. But from what I’m seeing in my notes, there’s a lot of hours there. Let’s just say let’s just say that. And the question that I’ve got for you is, you know, we hear of, you know, near misses and a lot of them are reported even in the news. But I’m guessing there is a ton that are not. And I’m not trying to say that, you know, this was. bound to happen because of all the near misses we’ve had but it sure seems like we’ve had an awful lot of them especially in the past i don’t know decade or so am i wrong in thinking that no i don’t think you’re wrong there’s always going to be some errors and mistakes but
SPEAKER 05 :
you have to keep this a little bit in perspective, because when you land at the San Francisco airport, the runways are fairly close, and you can actually have two airplanes on parallel runways, I mean, within like 500 feet of each other. It’s almost like you’re in formation, but you’re totally under control. When you go to an airport like this, it’s really different, and then when you put in an Army, a black helicopter at night, it would be very, very difficult for those commercial pilots to even see it.
SPEAKER 15 :
Good point, good point. This is great information, and I want to remind all of my listeners, and I’m really big on this. Lieutenant Campbell, I mean, the reality is everybody’s reeling in. There’s all sorts of speculation. People want to believe something in some cases where that may or may not even be true. They see a post. They want to go ahead and further that on on social media. And my advice to folks is just don’t do it. Until you know exactly what’s going on, don’t be that person that forwards something that may very well be false.
SPEAKER 05 :
Well, and don’t be afraid of aviation. And you look at commercial aviation, it’s probably the safest thing on the planet.
SPEAKER 16 :
True.
SPEAKER 05 :
You know, driving on the interstate or riding in a taxi or riding a motorcycle are much, much more dangerous than riding in a commercial airplane. When you talk about the numbers of when the last major accident was, they are safe. And so people just need to move on. The story will come out. This was unique beyond belief and should have never happened. And it’s rare.
SPEAKER 15 :
All right, author of My Life Above the Clouds. Let’s not forget about that. For those listening, what are they going to find when they get the book My Life Above the Clouds?
SPEAKER 05 :
You know, the whole point of that is my life has been unique, but I want to spread the word to kids. Read this book and see how an ordinary, regular guy that grew up in a small town did all of this in his life, and it just tells you, And one of my expressions is, go for it, because there’s incredible things you can do. It doesn’t have to be aviation, lots of different choices, but don’t get on drugs, don’t get arrested, don’t make these stupid mistakes, and then focus and go for it.
SPEAKER 15 :
You know what? Very well said. Thank you. Man after my own heart. I believe the same way. I mean, I’m like you. I’m a guy that never thought I’d sit in a seat like this. I’ve been a small business owner, came out of the automotive world, was an auto technician for the majority of my life, and then figured out I needed to learn how to run a shop and not necessarily be the worker in the shop and learn the hard way. And at the end of the day, though, I’m like you. Anybody can do anything they set their mind to. Just decide what you want to do and then go do it.
SPEAKER 05 :
Exactly, and it’s the greatest country on the planet. Amen. You can actually do things like that.
SPEAKER 15 :
Amen. Lieutenant Colonel Alan Bullitt Campbell, thank you again for your time. I know it was short notice, but I appreciate you being with us today.
SPEAKER 05 :
My pleasure. Thank you.

And I’m not trying to, by any means, downplay what happened last night and the people that were on that, but it’s always a reminder that you never know what’s going to happen next. And I can’t say it any other way. And most of that flight looks like it had a lot of young skaters on it, although there were coaches and other older individuals on that flight as well. SPEAKER 08 :
Now back to Rush to Reason on KLZ 560.
SPEAKER 15 :
Okay, on Tuesday, by the way, when there were a lot of folks down at the Capitol testifying against the basic outlaw of a lot of guns in Colorado, and it’s not just assault-type weapons and things along those lines. It’s literally a lot of different guns. While that was going on, This is what Democrats do, folks. I don’t know how else to say it. in Colorado. It would increase the legal age to purchase to 21, mandate ammo be locked up and only accessible with the assistance of the vendor, and new regulations around shipping ammo to Colorado, most of which directly conflict with existing federal laws. The bill has not yet been scheduled for a public hearing, but it has been assigned to the House Business Affairs and Labor Committee. So, like Democrats do… While something’s going on over here with one hand, and everybody’s distracted doing that, they’re over on the other side doing this. Slime balls. Slime balls. No other word for them. These people have no scruples. They do not care. Their goal is to have an outright ban on guns and ammunition in the state of Colorado, like all lefties want, all Marxists want. It’s the only way they can take over is to de-arm us. Trust me when I say that. That is their end goal. And these people will stop at nothing to make that happen. Total, total slimeballs. All the more reason why… We’ve got to have a better plan of attack in Colorado when it comes to elected officials and how to get them elected. We’ve got to have somebody at the helm. Yes, I’m talking about the Colorado GOP. We need someone at the helm that will actually have a mission and a plan and the ability to make things happen because we don’t have that right now. And despite what anybody else out there would say, and there’s people out there trying to counter what I say here on a routine basis, they’re doing their best to try to change that narrative of what I have in regards to our current leadership. Good luck. Good luck. You’re preaching to your own. You’re not even trying to reach those that aren’t listening to you, which, by the way, there’s a lot that don’t. And the reality is your comebacks and your rebuttals to the things that I talk about on a routine basis, A, they’re falling on deaf ears. B, they’re completely false. They’re wrong. They’re inaccurate. They’re not correct at all. And I will encourage any of you that are listening that are on that side, call in and debate me. More than happy to. I’ll even do it when Andy’s not here. More than happy to have a debate on any of these things. Because keep in mind, even prior to Andy, I was the one calling for Dave’s removal before Andy. Andy got on board after me. So those of you that, by the way, criticize Andy for his stance on things, I was first. I was first. I called for Dave’s removal long before anyone else, especially in media, did. Now, most media in Colorado, besides a few podcasters that frankly don’t amount to anything, outside of those folks, everybody wants him gone because he’s done nothing but tear this party apart, not bring it together, despite… what some of you might think. And in your fallacy of wishes of what you think might actually be true, you’re completely wrong. And that includes you, Hope. Hope Scheppelman, the vice chair. You’re completely wrong. You’re delusional in your thoughts. You’re thinking one thing, and it’s not true. It’s not factual. And the data will show it. And you’ll say the data proves your point. No, actually, it’s quite the opposite. So we need solid leadership in Colorado that will help defeat some of the things that we’re up against. As I just said a moment ago, which I haven’t even heard anybody yet talking about this particular ammunition bill that has been submitted and is now going to go to committee. This is the kind of stuff that Democrats do, and we have to be better on our side at defeating these things. But, folks, when we have really no presence at the Capitol, which we don’t, I know we’ve got a few people down there that will do their very best, and I’m very happy they’re there, and I’m not trying to beat them up at all. It’s hard. This is like that football team where the other team has already scored 50 points and you haven’t gotten across the goal line yet. It’s a very defeating place to be in, and it’s a very hard thing to do, go to the Capitol every day knowing that the other side outweighs you that much. So I admire those that are going down and doing their very best to represent us as conservatives in Colorado. And, yes, I appreciate each and every one of you that do that, and I wish we had more of you. And I wish we had leadership that thought enough of you even to help others like you get elected because we would rather spend money at the Colorado GOP on attorneys and legal fees and dumb stuff like that rather than actually help local candidates get elected and do what we can to coach and instruct and help them with all of those things. We don’t. We don’t because we don’t have anybody that’s a true leader. And by the way, this includes those folks that are on that side, even some of the folks I just mentioned that are out there in quasi media roles. They’re not leaders either. They’re wannabes. They’re not leaders. Trust me, they’re not leaders. And if you want to know what it takes to be a leader, go read some of the leadership books that are out there, mostly by John Maxwell. And then you tell me if these individuals, Dave himself, are leaders. I will tell you that, no, they don’t fit the definition in any way, shape, or form. Not in any way, shape, or form. So I know I hammer on that a lot, but it matters. I talked to a good friend of mine the other day that was asking me, hey, I hear you talk about some of the stuff going on inside of the Colorado GOP, and can you explain to me why you feel the way you do and why it’s such a big deal? I know you do a lot of that on air, but just one-on-one, how does this work and why is it such a big deal? So I went through. my thoughts on everything and how we can get some folks elected and how there’s times we need to probably not be. And I know some of you on the on the right, the hardcore right are going to have a hard time with what I’m going to say here. But in some cases, you can’t be as principled as you are or you’re not going to win that election. And we need to win elections. We need to still take somebody that’s eight out of 10 and get them in office and not worry about whether they’re a 10 out of 10. And yes, that’s that’s my strategy. That’s me talking. And I know that goes against the grain of what some of you out there listening may think. But trust me, I’m right. You’re wrong. You will not win and get across the goal line doing it the way you’re doing. It’s proven. The data shows it. And if you don’t believe me, go look at the data for yourself. It’s not that hard to figure this out. So, yeah, the conversation I had and I explained everything. And by the way, when I was done explaining things after about, I don’t know, 10 minutes or so, it was like, okay, that all makes sense. I get that. Yeah, that’s what we should be doing. And I may talk about this a little bit more in the next hour, but the reality is we’re not doing those things because we don’t have leadership in Colorado at all because, A, they don’t know what being a leader really is, and they for sure don’t know how to implement things. And this has nothing to do even with the money sides. I’m just talking about simply basic core leadership and how you get others to follow you and do what’s needed to actually win. Roof Savers of Colorado coming up next. Dave Hart.
