John Rush and Andy Peth kick off the show with a few classic movie lines before diving into a serious discussion with Dave from Veteran Windows and Doors. Dave breaks down how the upcoming Energy Star 7.0 regulations could raise utility costs in Colorado by mandating windows that don’t fit our high-altitude climate. Then it’s time to head to the theater: Andy reviews The Last Rodeo, a well-intentioned faith-based film with uneven execution, and Karate Kid Legends, a crowd-pleasing reboot that

And I’m your host, John Rush, Rush to Reason, KLZ 560. Happy Friday. Andy Pate with me. How are you, Andy? Doing well, sir. Always good to be here on a Friday, by the way. Dave from Veteran Windows and Doors with us as well. Dave, how are you?
SPEAKER 18 :
I am well, sir. Thank you.
SPEAKER 09 :
Always a joy. Thank you. I’ve been a little busy here in between shows getting ready for this show, but appreciate you, Dave, coming in. How is the window and door business?
SPEAKER 18 :
It is going well. Yeah, we’re busy.
SPEAKER 09 :
That’s good.
SPEAKER 18 :
Yeah, things are changing, though, supposedly. January 1st of next year. Okay. Energy Star is changing the parameters of efficiency. Okay. And they’re doing it in such a manner that over 4,000 feet in elevation is we are going to be paying more for a less efficient window, typical government fashion.
SPEAKER 09 :
Okay, explain.
SPEAKER 18 :
Yeah, why is that? Because they are forcing or going to be forcing every window and door manufacturer to meet ENERGY STAR 7.0, which is a very specific energy rating. And one of the issues, a few issues with it, the solar heat gain coefficient, which is the amount of heat that is coming through the window, which you do not want in Colorado, all of that radiation and UV coming through, they are making it higher in the effort to have passive solar heating at lower altitudes. But what they’re not considering in Colorado, you do not want that solar radiation coming through.
SPEAKER 07 :
So wait a minute. So this is across the board nationally, and they’re not considering the difference for a place like Colorado?
SPEAKER 18 :
Absolutely, yes. So the whole effort of Energy Star is to minimize your carbon footprint. So their anticipation is that if they allow more heat in at these lower altitudes, then in the colder weather, your heat isn’t coming on as much. Well, adversely, when you’re in Colorado, above 4,000 feet in elevation, all of that heat is now causing your AC to come on every 15 minutes. So you’re maximizing or increasing the carbon footprint. But when they write these things, they don’t consider everyone in the country. They just kind of do a blanket assessment. This is what we think will work.
SPEAKER 09 :
So is there going to be any workarounds for that, or what’s your thoughts there?
SPEAKER 18 :
Right now, there are none. That’s been my effort, too, is to try to talk to people and say, why don’t you make an amendment for over 4,000 feet? The answer I keep getting is the government is never going to admit that they were wrong. And as much as I see that, my thinking is, well, stroke their ego and tell them, hey, over 4,000 feet, make an amendment, and you can actually minimize the carbon footprint.
SPEAKER 07 :
Right. But wasn’t this done under a previous EPA? And now we have new people in charge, so they wouldn’t have to admit they’re wrong.
SPEAKER 18 :
Well, that would be nice, yeah. I don’t know what the, you know, who’s actually in charge of that or not. But it’s one of those things where everyone’s kind of on edge because you don’t know if you start prepping for it now in anticipation of it coming through or do you try to pursue an amendment or some type of clarification on that on the law.
SPEAKER 09 :
So to me, this means that if that stays and you have to install those windows, folks are going to be looking at, like we do on the car world, doing tinting and things like that on top of what you’ve already got on the glass, which that has its own whole set of ramifications and if you don’t have any kids it’s probably fine but when you get kids because that’s a a vinyl type product that’s on top of the glass meaning that we have it in our windows right here in the studio they get scratched and over time will have to be replaced and so on i mean that’s that’s a workaround but it’s not a cheap workaround it’s not am i thinking correctly
SPEAKER 18 :
You are, but the other side of that is that manufacturers cancel your warranty as soon as you put a film on the window because they’re engineered to meet a certain efficiency level. And if you now put a UV inhibitor or some type of a film on the inside, you’re actually changing the efficacy of the window and the manufacturers no longer warranty the window. It’s a catch-22. It is. It’s one of the hurry-up-and-wait type things.
SPEAKER 07 :
Well, bottom line, if you’re thinking of getting some windows changed out, do it this year.
SPEAKER 18 :
That’s what I’m thinking.
SPEAKER 07 :
Be a little better.
SPEAKER 18 :
We’re telling a lot of customers, if you’ve been on the fence, now’s the time to consider it or at least understand what those values are so that you can make an educated choice. Yeah. If it comes to pass, then the windows that we put in are going to have to be gas-filled windows, which is truly designed obsolescence in Colorado. You’re in a constant state of off-gassing, losing efficiency. But, again, we’re so unique in Colorado. We have so many different factors that you have to consider when you’re designing windows, doors, or anything.
SPEAKER 09 :
Okay. Good to know. So those of you that have been to Andy’s point on the fence about what to do, go ahead and get it done now. Don’t put that off any longer. And how do they get a hold of you, Dave, to do that?
SPEAKER 18 :

SPEAKER 09 :
I would highly advise that given this potentially is coming, and here’s the other thing, Dave. Even if, let’s say, something happens, they fix this, it ends up being reversed, or they revise, or they do whatever, you’re not out anything getting it looked at right now anyways. Absolutely. You’re still ahead of the game no matter what, right? Yeah.
SPEAKER 18 :
Yeah, well, I mean, that’s it, is be educated about what’s coming and what’s down the line. And if it does come, you can be ahead of it. And if it doesn’t come, then thank God.
SPEAKER 09 :
The one thing I can pretty much assure people of, I don’t have a crystal ball, but typically speaking, and I think I’m pretty safe in saying this, prices aren’t coming down. If anything, you’re still going to see some things increase because of labor costs and so on. Dave, you and I, we share some similarities when it comes to hiring workers and so on. And the reality is that part of it’s not going to get any cheaper moving forward. That one I can pretty much guarantee you on. Absolutely. Because there’s less and less tradesmen out there, and that’s why I’m saying you’re going to see those costs go up, correct?
SPEAKER 18 :
Oh, yeah. It is so hard to find. A lot of guys come in in a flannel shirt with a hammer, but that doesn’t mean they know what they’re doing.

That’s a genuine, true legend right there.

Lord, I’m ready for the showtime. Here we go. Come on, Joe. Get it.

And there you go, John, the last rodeo. What do you think? It looks good. Okay, well, let’s dive in. Neil McDonough, you know him with those blazing blue eyes.
SPEAKER 09 :
One of my favorites.
SPEAKER 07 :
Yeah, great guy. He stars as Joe Wainwright, a former bull riding champion who retired years ago after suffering a terrible neck injury. Even today, he experiences great pain. By the way, have you ever had serious neck injury? No. I have. okay i’ve had neck surgery and so when i’m watching this movie i’m like you’re thinking yeah i’m like you’ve got to be kidding you went back to this well joe he lost more than bull riding though he also lost his wife to brain cancer very tragic life joe’s daughter sally she’s played by sarah jones was also devastated by losing her mom of course and she’s a single mom raising a son named cody cody wants to ride bulls geez john why do you think Because of that. Yeah, well, and Grandpa does it. You know, yeah, Grandpa does it, he wants to do it. Right. Yeah, Mom, of course, says no, which makes sense. Following in the footsteps. Yeah, well, and she doesn’t want him to go through the footsteps of Grandpa. Well, Joe, meanwhile, he gets by in retirement, but then he receives terrible news. Cody, his grandson, has brain cancer. Well, having seen what this does, Joe and Sally are stricken with grief. There are surgeries, of course, but they aren’t nearly covered by the family insurance. It’s just too much. So Joe decides he must return to bull riding and win. It’s the only way he can afford the surgery. Well, needless to say, Sally and everyone else warns against this. Joe is far too old, too out of practice, and frankly, John, he’s too heartbroken to compete against the best. But Joe turns to an old friend named Charlie, he’s played by McKelty Williamson, to help him. I don’t know if you know McKelty Williamson. Good actor. I’ve always enjoyed his work. Well, what follows is a battle against raging bulls and young superstars who ride them. But Joe keeps going. Because, John, this isn’t about regaining past glory. It’s all about Cody. Heartwarming? Yeah. Absolutely. Absolutely. But the bulls don’t care, John.
SPEAKER 09 :
No, they don’t.
SPEAKER 07 :
They really don’t care about a heartwarming story. They want you off. Can Joe be part of a miracle? And that’s the story of the last rodeo. What do you think? It sounds good again. Yeah. Even the previews look good. Yeah. I think it’s a really good premise. Well, what works in the last rodeo? First of all, there’s a great comparison here as bull riding is just like life. It’s relentless. It’s unpredictable. It’s raging and unforgiving. You never know when you’re going to get thrown. You never know quite which way that bull is going to go. And nor do you know that with life. And I thought it was a really good kind of allegory for life. Next, McDonough shows all the pain and struggle of severe neck and back injury and going through this. And by the way, he goes through more and more as he goes into the competition. He is just a fine actor.
SPEAKER 09 :
He’s great.
SPEAKER 07 :
Yeah, I like Neil McDonough. I agree. Although I got to be honest. I liked him at his best when he was younger and always playing villains. He was such a good villain. He’s a good villain.
SPEAKER 09 :
Oh, he’s so evil. He is.
SPEAKER 07 :
This guy just looks evil.
SPEAKER 09 :
And even though he’s not. No, he’s a great guy. He plays the opposite of what he actually is in real life.
SPEAKER 07 :
Yeah, in real life, he’s this Christian man who just loves the Lord. Well, Sarah Jones, now the actress, Sarah Jones. is the woman who lost her mom she plays obviously um sally she lost her mom cared for her father in recovery which was really something and now she has a dying son who wants to be like grandpa she nails this hurricane of emotions i thought she did the best acting job in the movie mckeulty williamson he brings humor and a man’s man’s toughness i liked him he was crucial Finally, there are some, well, not finally, there’s some good struggles with Joe pulling in lots of favors to get back in the competition. That’s really, you know, it’s not easy for him to get in because, you know, there’s a lot of walls. Right. A lot of barriers there. And naturally, the message of faith is good. Who doesn’t like a wholesome comeback story? I mean, if you can’t root for that, you’re crazy.
SPEAKER 09 :
I agree.
SPEAKER 07 :
Right. Okay. What doesn’t work in the last rodeo? Unfortunately, there are a number of things. First of all, it drags at times as their lives spiral downward. It’s a tough watch, but that’s okay. We’ve all watched tough watches. The problem is the pace. It’s just not keeping up. Okay. All right. Oh, this part is hard. There is some truly epically horrible acting by the young bull riders, especially Joe’s top competition. These are some of the worst actors I’ve ever seen in a movie. I don’t know.
SPEAKER 09 :
Even though they’ve got some other tops, those are not.
SPEAKER 07 :
Right. Yeah, you’ve got some excellent actors at the top. Right. And like these young bull riders that they’re going up against were, I mean, so bad. So bad. No nuance. I mean, just lifeless. And it was just awful. There’s also terrible directing of these tough guy bullies. At one point, a young bully shoves Joe and starts a fight. And it comes off like Christians trying to act tough for a church play. It was so weak. Just awful. It’s like, this doesn’t look real at all. Like I said, it looked like a church play, John. Look, you’re starting a fight in a bar. Okay, let’s get it on, man. Let’s get real with this. Let’s be real. Because some of the best Christian films are the ones that get real, that don’t try to hold back and sanitize life. And here, it just wasn’t coming off real at all. There’s virtually, this is something, virtually no training. I mean, what? Johnny hasn’t done this in a decade and a half. One scene of him working out, doing some push-ups, basically, Joe goes from thinking about it to competing. Just boom. What? You’ve got to be kidding me. Where’s the training? I mean, I understand he only had like a week, 10 days, but you better do something to get ready for those bulls, right? It definitely needed more humor, especially with McDonough and Williamson’s great chemistry. The two of them had great chemistry, and let’s face it, these are terrific actors. Now, I can understand people are thinking, well, humor in a movie like this? I mean, you’re doing this because your grandson has cancer. Yeah, but, you know, there are a lot of times in the movie where they could have had more humor in it. And they also tried to inject some, and it just wasn’t very well written. I’m sorry. You know, this is kind of getting back to how Christian’s films were before I can only imagine how they were of a lower breed. And while Neil McDonough and a couple of these people are putting in higher breed acting performances, the movie still comes off as lower breed and not quality. Okay, it comes off like the old Christian movies. All right, and I hate to say that. Finally, even the writing for Joe and Charlie is simplistic and cliche-ridden. It really is. They’re trying to deliver their lines, and these lines that they’re delivering… My goodness, it sounds like they were written by somebody who was basically trying to write about, gee, what might it be like in this kind of a situation? You know what I mean? And it’s not somebody who is a really skilled writer, and it sounded like that. The writing was much better for Sally, I’ll give it that. And her role came off much more real.
SPEAKER 09 :
Do they know we have AI now?
SPEAKER 07 :
Yeah, I know. Plug it in. Sorry. Ask the question, what would it be like? What would they say? Sorry. And… Or maybe they did. I don’t know. I got nothing. Okay. But it didn’t come off very well at all. This was not a well-written movie. It was a very unevenly acted movie because a couple of the leads are tremendous actors, but… Several of them. I know, but they’re surrounded by several characters who are… And by the way, the kid did a great job, too. But they’re surrounded by several characters who are just horrendous acting. Their directing, the pace is… Not too bad. The story moves along, but the pace at times just withered. And I don’t know how to put that better. Basically, John, it felt lifeless a lot of the time. It really did while you’re going through this drama. Okay. Rotten Tomatoes, they like this movie, which surprised me. They gave it 79%. Now, don’t get me wrong. The Christian crowd is going to adore this movie. Why, John?
SPEAKER 09 :
Because they’re Christians.
SPEAKER 07 :
Yes.
SPEAKER 09 :
And it’s a Christian movie. Right.
SPEAKER 07 :
Please don’t hate me for saying this, but you know it’s true. A lot of Christians, when they go to a Christian movie, they don’t understand the difference between higher and lower quality. And you’re nodding your head. Okay, so I’m not saying a mean thing that should get me lynched. That’s true. Okay. That’s true. Because I know there are going to be people angry when I say that.
SPEAKER 09 :
And really quick, I think part of why that is, Andy, is because we tend to look at these types of movies and put our rose-colored glasses on, and we kind of know in our hearts and minds even that, yeah, this isn’t quite what Star Wars is or what Mission Impossible is. No, but you know what? Because it’s a Christian movie, we’ll give it a little bit of a pass in these other areas.
SPEAKER 07 :
Am I right in that description? You are totally right, and you know what the Christian producer and director should be trying to make? Mission Impossible and Star Wars. Correct. Okay, with this story, of course, or Rocky or The Karate Kid or whatever. They should be trying to make a great movie on those levels, and maybe they think they did, but they didn’t.
SPEAKER 09 :
Well, and Ministry Man.
SPEAKER 07 :
Okay.
SPEAKER 09 :
Isn’t Scripture pretty clear on what you just said? In other words, doesn’t God demand excellence and the best?
SPEAKER 07 :
Yeah, do all you do unto the glory of God. So why don’t we? Right. So if God Almighty is my greatest audience, is my ultimate audience, why would I put out something lesser?
SPEAKER 09 :
and just spin it out there.
SPEAKER 07 :
Why would I cast a bunch of non-actors to play these crucial roles as the rodeo cowboys that he’s competing against who were just, once again, I cannot explain how bad they were.
SPEAKER 09 :
I’ll give you the answer. Why? This is an excuse of an answer, but this is the answer that you’ll hear from a lot of folks on our side of the aisle. Because the world and all of it has more money than we do, so they can afford to do things better than what we can. We’re on a limited budget. They’re not, Andy. Am I right? Is that what you’re going to hear?
SPEAKER 07 :
Yeah, they would probably say that. Let me tell you something. Angel Studios is not any longer on a limited budget. They are very big now. They are putting out a lot of movies. These movies are all making a lot of money because of loyal Christian audiences flooding into them, whether they’re good or not. So spend the money accordingly. Yeah, and by the way, some of them are very good movies. You know, I’ve raved about several of their movies.
SPEAKER 09 :
And this one, by the way, given some of the actors and actresses that are in it, should have been.
SPEAKER 07 :
Well, you got one of my favorites, Neal McDonough. Exactly. Right, and this Sarah Jones is a fine actress. She nails it because… We have Shooter McGavin in it as well. Yeah, you got Shooter McGavin in it as well. And by the way, he does a really good job in his… His role is rather small, but he does a really good job in it.
SPEAKER 09 :
And probably should have made it bigger because he’s, again, another really good actor.
SPEAKER 07 :
Yeah, and he nailed it. But let me get back to her for a moment. Okay. One thing I really liked about the character of Sally John, and we got just… You’re fine.
SPEAKER 09 :
Go ahead.
SPEAKER 07 :
Yeah. Is that, you know, you would see a lot of women in going through what she’s gone through, and she shed some tears in this, don’t get me wrong, but just falling apart and being a mess throughout the entire thing, right? Yeah. And, of course, she has to just go completely silent at times and gather herself. Right. But you can also tell this is a strong woman who was raised by Neil McDonough’s character, Joe Wainwright. She’s tough. Okay. And… I mean, so this is a woman who handles everything much better than you would think that she’s handling. It’s not because she doesn’t care about her son. It’s because she is tough. She’s battle-hardened all the way. And yet, of course, it’s wrecking her. And so I thought she gave a very, very good, deep performance because of that. She was really good, John. This is why I just didn’t understand why they let some of the other stuff in there. And also, some of the writing and directing of this was very shoddily and poorly done. Okay? I did really like the scenes where they’re riding the bulls. I thought those were terrifically done. Very well done. And obviously, they’re just filming him doing it, but they also would show the clock ticking and ticking and ticking. Right. That was directed very well and brought a lot of action to it, but the movie fell short. Okay, here we go. Rotten Tomatoes gave it 79%. I will not, but I’m not going to crush it. I’m going to give it two stars. Political, three. Didn’t say a thing. Moral, religious, obviously four and a half. I’m going to go all the way up to four and a half. Wonderful message. Let’s make a karate kid. And there you go, John, Karate Kid Legends. Well, this movie has two halves, really. It’s two movies in one, which is very different. Okay. And I wasn’t ready for that, but here we go. Ben Wang, he stars as Li Feng, a Chinese teen who learns kung fu from Mr. Han, played by Jackie Chan, and this is back in Beijing.
SPEAKER 17 :
Okay.
SPEAKER 07 :
But Lee’s mom, played by Ming-Na Wen, she’s been in a lot of stuff, by the way. Well, you ever remember the movie Mulan? Oh, yeah. She was the voice of Mulan. Gotcha. Okay. Well, she doesn’t believe in fighting, since she already lost Lee’s older brother to a tragedy. Well, Mom and Lee move to New York, with Lee promising not to fight anymore. There, Lee befriends a middle-aged pizza shop owner named Victor, played by Joshua Jackson, and his daughter, the very pretty daughter, Mia, played by Sadie Stanley. But Victor has a problem, John. He’s in deep with a loan shark, and the only way to get the cash is to fight in the ring. He’s a retired boxer. Well, after seeing Lee fight some local hoodlums, Victor asks Lee to train him. This is quite a role reversal as the young guy trains the older adult and mentor. Eventually, there’s a climactic fight in the ring halfway through the movie. So that’s basically the first half of the movie. And I will say this before I even get into the good and bad of the movie. I enjoyed the training scenes where he’s training the older guy. It was actually pretty fun. Moving on. Meanwhile, the Lone Shark has a son named Connor. He’s played by Aramis Knight. And Connor is a karate champion who is also Mia’s ex-boyfriend. I mean, Karate Kid all over again, right? Got it. I mean, this is just like the original Karate Kid. Well, after Lee gets beat up, Mr. Han, he comes to New York. But through some family history I won’t describe, Mr. Han is also connected to Mr. Miyagi. May he rest in peace. Han needs help training Lee in this karate style. He does Kung Fu, but this is karate. So he reaches out to Miyagi’s great student, Danny LaRusso, who’s played, of course, by Ralph Macchio. And together, they’re going to train Lee, the poor kid. He’s got two trainers now. And one good line at one point, he goes, my God, there are two of them. It was pretty funny. So Lee must fight in the streets and in the five boroughs championship. It’s go time, John. What do you think of Karate Kid Legends?

Sounds good so far. And why is Ralph Macchio never age?

Well, he’s aging. But you’re right. He still looks young.

But not like other people.

He looks young for his age.

I mean, literally, Andy.

I just like him. He is such a likable guy. Do you ever watch the TV show at all?

Oh, yeah.

Okay, Cobra Kai.

I didn’t get into it as much as some, but yes.
SPEAKER 07 :
Yeah, I lost interest after a while. Okay, well, what works in Karate Kid Legends? First of all, let’s get right to it. Ben Wang is a force. Not just as a great martial artist, but also a charismatic young actor. This guy’s got the it factor. I love him. Do you remember the original Karate Kid? One thing that really made it work is Ralph Macchio was just this charismatic young character. You really liked him. He was really interesting. Well, Ben Wang… He isn’t just, you know, the newest kid that they’re going to train, and this movie’s all about the older guys. No, he is interesting. He is fun to watch. He’s got a real personality to him, and he’s very enjoyable. Next, the fight scenes are outstanding, both in the ring and in the streets. Very tough. There’s an interesting twist with Lee already being a very accomplished fighter at the beginning of the movie because he’s been training under Mr. Han. All right. I like Joshua Jackson as Victor. He’s very heartfelt. In fact, there are several good side characters in this film. Ming-Na Wen, of course, is very good as Lee’s mom. Wyatt Olaf. Now, you probably don’t know him. He’s funny as Lee’s math tutor. He’s a very good side character. You probably don’t remember Wyatt Ola. If he was in Guardians of the Galaxy, he played Peter Quill as a kid. All right. He’s grown up, obviously. Well, he was really good. Aramis Knight does an excellent job as the villainous Connor. Excellent cast. Really good casting throughout the movie. Now, Chen and Macchio, they have great chemistry, John. They’re clearly having a ball. You can tell. It reminded me of Mel Gibson and John Lithgow in Daddy’s Home 2. Got it. You weren’t just watching a movie. You were watching these two have a ball being in the movie. And that’s how I felt with these two. Now, shockingly, this two movies in one approach has a strong pace. I wouldn’t have expected that. I would have expected it to be totally disjointed, and I thought it would be. In fact, a lot of critics thought it was. You know, it’s a bit too much story crammed into such quick runtime. I’m going to say that. But it really hums along. Now, much better than the reviews. I’ll just say that right out. The reviews, we’ll get to in a moment, are missing it. And I didn’t agree with them. My wife didn’t agree with them. The crowd didn’t agree with them. This is the freshest and funniest since the first film.

Though not that magical as Daniel and Mr. Miyagi. I mean, those two had such magic between them. This doesn’t have that kind of magic, but it has a lot of other really good stuff. This is a real crowd pleaser. Okay, what doesn’t work in Karate Kid Legends? First of all, too much replay of the first two films. I mean, new in town, meet the girl. Her ex is a bully. You know, he’s a great fighter. And his, you know, his dad or trainer is this vicious one who wants him to kill, kill, kill in the ring and all this kind of stuff. I mean, a total replay. They shouldn’t have had such a replay of the early films. I didn’t like that. They mixed it up some with him training the older guy. That was good, but too much. Ralph Macchio. Here’s the part that is the weakest part of the entire movie. Ralph Macchio doesn’t enter the film until halfway through. Okay, that’s false advertising. I’m sorry. When you see the previews, you see Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio training him. Guess what? They both. Because Chan’s there in the beginning, but he doesn’t get there until back into the movie until about halfway through. Because they really want to make this Ben Wang’s film. But you know what? You’re going to probably have a series. Get them back into it quicker. Their chemistry was outstanding. Macho and Jackie Chan were having a ball. Get them back in there sooner. That was a real mistake. The final fight moves, okay, for the final fight are far too predictable because they laid them out in advance. They told you what they were going to do. And so you knew what was going to happen. And that was a real problem, okay? But let me tell you something, John. These are minor. Now, Rotten Tomatoes gave this 55%. I have no idea what’s going on in their heads. They missed. Quality, four stars. Okay. Flat out. My wife would have given it four and a half. Okay? This is a crowd pleaser. I did not see a single person in that theater who was not happy.

Political three, more religious, I’ll give it three and a half.

Had a nice little message in there. This was a good movie. Karate Kid Legends is the most fun I’ve had at the movies this year since Novocaine. Wow. Okay. Yeah, it was a fun movie because not only do you have those two guys who are great together, but this Ben Wang is a real thing. He is fun to watch. They had good side characters. You enjoy it all. This is a fun little movie. The only problems were, number one, they tried to cram too much into one movie. I’ll give the critics credit for getting down on that. And number two, it did take too long getting the older guys back into it. But outside of that, it’s a crowd pleaser. Do I recommend going to Karate Kid Legends? Absolutely. Have some fun this weekend, folks. I think you’re going to like it more than 55%. All right.

You’ve heard me say this even to guys like Jordan Goodman and others. The Fed is behind this. And lowering interest rates. They should have done it before. Now, this is becoming, in my opinion, just an attitude between Trump and Powell. I know they met this week to try to maybe put some of their differences aside. But Powell is making a huge mistake. And I know some of you will argue with me with this. But I’m here to tell you that when it comes to the world that I live in. And what you look at in regards to economic movement among small business and so on, the reality is they’ve got to get it down. And the housing end of it is a whole other conversation, housing and commercial property. The reality is Powell is just dead set on proving Trump wrong, and that’s my opinion as to why he’s not doing anything.

Absolutely. It’s personal. And it blows my mind. I can’t stand it, John, when powerful people who hold all our lives economically in their hands get personal. It really angers me. It’s like when Thomas Massey votes against a bill, right? Because he wants to be a purist. Well, you know, Thomas… We need the bill to go through or we’re in deep doo-doo. Okay? Okay, we need some things. These people, you know, you’ve got, what’s her name on the ACB, on the Supreme Court? Amy Coney Barrett. She hates Trump, John.

And it shows.

She’s a Trump hater. It shows. You can tell. It’s personal for her.

Oh, no, Andy. She’s reading the law. No. No, she’s not. She’s personal. Put those things aside when you’re in those positions. Yeah. In fact, I said this the other day to somebody, Amy. John Roberts, too. Both of you should be thanking Trump, not John, but Amy, you should be thanking Trump for your lifetime appointment knowing you’ll never look for a job again. Right. You should be thanking him, not criticizing him. Yeah.

He’s the guy that got you your position. Am I right, Andy? Yes, he is. So thank him instead of criticize him, Amy.

And that doesn’t mean that you have to be a rubber stamp for him. Nobody’s asking for that. But a lot of her rulings, you’re looking at these, and she’s going along with Roberts and the liberals, and you’re looking at these and just saying, these are ridiculous rulings. Don’t you understand? You people in robes are governing our country right now. And thank goodness a court struck down the tariff ruling. OK, so at least for a couple of weeks. And I do believe I do believe Trump’s going to win that one in court and he’s going to be able to go forward with the tariffs. I’m very confident in that. But he shouldn’t have to go through this, John. He’s the one who got elected, not them. It is his job. He got elected promising to use tariffs as leverage in many things, including obviously the drug trade. I mean, he got elected on that. He promised it, and he’s doing it. Who are the judges to say you can’t use trade as leverage?

They’re doing the same thing. And it’s working. Going back to the Fed, it’s personal. And to your point, Jerome Powell is really affecting the entire economy, let’s face it, of the world, because the better we do, the better others do. Now, I’ve got a couple of minutes. I think I can explain this. In light, or in spite of… Jerome Powell. Bessette. who a lot of people would probably think, okay, what’s this guy got to do anything? Well, he’s head of treasury. Oh, he’s brilliant. And he’s a super smart guy. And he is doing some things behind the scenes in spite of Jerome Powell to bring interest rates down, effectively bringing them, not the short-term rate that I know the Fed controls, but effectively through the back door, bringing some rates down through treasuries and things along those lines. And so there’s some things that he’s really working on. Very, very smart man, by the way. And here’s what I’m saying. Watch what he does, not what Powell does. I’ve said it for a long time. I said it all the way back in 2020. Powell’s, in my opinion, Powell’s a moron. I know some of you would argue with me and you think he’s a really, really brilliant, smart guy. And maybe he is, but he has no street smarts. He waited too long to raise interest rates. He’s now waiting too long to get them back down.

John, he has to look at the housing industry right now. He’s not. Did you see the number of homes on the market right now has tripled in the Denver metro area, and prices are going down as a result. This is ridiculous. I mean, Jerome, get the rates down. And he should have done a full half-point drop going into the spring. Why? Because this is home-buying season, and he should do that for Americans. Why also? I mean, because, what, are you worried about… Inflation? Inflation hasn’t been going up, John. Inflation’s been fine.
