In today’s episode, Joey Hudson fills in for Mike Gallagher, exploring two critical themes that are shaking the nation. First, he examines the sprawling fraud in governmental systems, starting from Minnesota’s daycare scam to the recently revealed HUD’s questionable payments, resonating with billions in taxpayer exploitation. The show unpacks these challenges, connecting listeners with the real impacts felt nationwide, from the misuse of welfare funds to the shocking headlines of deceased tenants receiving assistance. Joey also dives into Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman’s bold criticism of his party, offering fresh perspectives on why the Democratic rhetoric might be alienating voters.
SPEAKER 07 :
From the wild world of D.C. politics to America’s culture clash, brace yourself for the reality check you’ve been waiting for. The one and only Mike Gallagher Show. Sitting in for Mike today, here’s Joey Hudson.
SPEAKER 02 :
Welcome in to this Tuesday edition of the Mike Gallagher Show. Glad to have you. We’ve got a lot to cover, of course. The situation in Minnesota, the fraud that has been uncovered there, just continues to grow every single day. This is the most astounding story I think I’ve ever watched, as every day there’s a new revelation of a new scheme. Billions of dollars of our tax dollars just being ripped off. by people who shouldn’t even be in our country, by the way, in most cases. We’re going to dive into that. Senator John Fetterman, the Pennsylvania guy who seems to have a little more common sense than most Democrats, is ripping into his fellow Democrats… for labeling President Trump an auto crap and urged the party to face facts about its recent electoral defeats. The senator, he has more common sense than the rest of the Democrats in the U.S. Senate put together, I think. In cut number four, he had this wide-ranging sit-down with CNN. It aired on Sunday on Inside Politics. And Senator Fetterman argued that the overheated rhetoric has helped Democrats lose elections instead of winning them. Here’s Senator John Fetterman.
SPEAKER 10 :
Never going to change my party. But clearly, we’ve lost the argument. And now, right now, I think it’s entirely appropriate to really be honest and just figure out why exactly have we effectively lost two out of the last three cycles. And a lot of the things we’ve really kind of… We really lost our connection with American voters in ways. And I think we can’t just be, well, Trump is always wrong or that we’re going to set the country on fire or whatever. That’s just not true either, of course. But, you know, when I represent a state like Pennsylvania, that keeps you honest. And you always can’t forget that a lot of Americans happen to disagree with you. That does not mean that they are fascists or now they want to shred the Constitution.
SPEAKER 13 :
When you hear some Democrats saying Trump is acting like an autocrat.
SPEAKER 10 :
Yeah, that’s the thing. I if you actually compare it to an actual autocrat, that is not just that. Now, last night, for example, people were were were complaining. They were protesting about, oh, that’s Hitler, Hitler thing. You just don’t ever, ever compare anyone to Hitler and those kinds of extreme things. Now, look what happened to Charlie Kirk. I mean, the man was shot. Now we have to turn the temperature down. It’s like we can’t compare people to these kinds of figures in history. And this is not an autocrat. This is a product of a Democratic party.
SPEAKER 02 :
Federman argued that Democrats are repeating the very mistakes that have cost them elections in the past. He made the argument that winning national elections, you’ve got to win those swing states. You’ve got to reach out and be able to get those people in the middle, the independents, who don’t necessarily pledge allegiance to the Republicans or to the Democrats. They vote quite often with their pocketbook. How’s the economy doing? But when you do things that the Democrats have done, when you alienate voters because of your extreme views, they’re never going to come back to you. And I think John Fetterman recognizes that. He rejected calls from some Democrats to use government shutdowns as leverage in spending fights. Again, just sort of common sense, common sense things in governing our country. And I got to say, when John Fetterman was running for the U.S. Senate, I thought it was crazy. I thought it was absolutely nuts that Pennsylvania was considering a guy who walked around in shorts and a hoodie for the U.S. Senate. And he was elected. It made no sense to me at the time, but hey, look, he’s becoming one of my favorite Democrats in the U.S. Senate. And from what I’m told, some of the U.S. Senators that I talk to from time to time, they say that he’s easy to work with. Again, common sense. He’s there to represent the people of Pennsylvania who sent him to the U.S. Senate, and he wants to do what’s best for our country in a lot of situations. Not always. There are a lot of things that I disagree with him on, but again, it’s sort of a breath of fresh air to see a Democrat like him saying, hey guys, we’ve got to back off of calling Donald Trump names. Orange man bad. He’s our president. We’ve got to figure out how to work with him for the betterment of our country. And he makes a point, doesn’t he? 800-655-6453, 800-655-MIKE. Lots of ways for you to join the conversation today. You can text me on the MyPillow text line. You can call. Alex will put you in queue. We’ll talk as time permits. You can email me directly, joey at joeyhudson.com. And let me take this opportunity to invite you to join me on my daily podcast, Just the Truth. Just search for Just the Truth, Joey Hudson, wherever you listen to podcasts, because I’d love to have you part of my So this thing in Minnesota, every day there’s a new revelation. Of course, there’s a group of Republican lawmakers in Minnesota yesterday releasing a statement calling on Governor Tim Walz to resign, to step down. I don’t think he will ever do it. Do you? Do you think Tim Walz would ever accept responsibility and say, I need to step down? And how scary is it that this guy was running for vice president, that he could have potentially been our vice president? It’s really a scary fact, isn’t it, to even think about that. So here’s where we are today. After Nick Shirley released his video on YouTube over the weekend, I mean, we’ve been following the story for weeks now of the billions in this food program that wasn’t going to hungry children. It was going in the pockets of some wealthy Somalians who had absconded with our taxpayer dollars. They were sending it back over to Somalia. Now we’re learning about the daycare centers. We’re learning about the medical transportation scam where you buy a van, you get it licensed, you put a sticker on the side of it showing that it’s a medical transportation van, and you get reimbursed. The problem is, and we saw this in Nick Shirley’s video over the weekend, as they drove by a parking lot where you saw, I don’t know, 30, 40, 50 of these vans parked there, and the man said, I drive by here every day. They’re always here. They never go anywhere. But there are some big checks being written. They’re being paid to transport people who have medical issues. And, of course… The daycare fraud, there’s a new twist to that as new video has been uncovered of a report that a local Fox affiliate did back in 2018. Same thing, same story. They’re showing where parents were actually given white envelopes, presumably filled with cash, to bring their kids into a daycare center. They didn’t leave them there. They just brought them in. They signed them in so that the daycare center could then count them as a child staying there for a day and get paid for that child. But you see on this video footage the parent walking in with their child, checking the child in, getting their envelope, and walking out with the child again. It’s the craziest thing that I’ve ever seen. And again, that was 2018 when the local Fox affiliate reported on it. It’s still happening. Nobody stopped it over these last seven years. 800-655-6453. Hope you’ll join the conversation. How do we stop this? I mean, really. And we’re learning through the New York Post today. This breaking news this morning. It’s not just Minnesota. Minnesota. New York, California, Washington, D.C., HUD says that there’s been over $5 billion in taxpayer funds given in what they’re calling questionable rental assistance. Thousands of dead people receiving rental assistance. Help me grasp this. Help me understand how our government is failing so badly, how these people are robbing our country. 800-655-6453. Joey Hudson in for Mike.

SPEAKER 02 :
Joey Hudson in for Mike. I asked the question a minute ago, how can this fraud continue? Who’s doing something about it? How do we stop it? There’s some breaking news this morning. You know, for months… Democrats have argued with the Trump administration that illegal immigrants are not getting taxpayer-funded health care, either Medicare or Medicaid. CNN’s Caitlin Collins said people who are here in the United States illegally have never been eligible for the Obamacare subsidies for Medicare or for Medicaid. Her colleague Jake Tapper said, also said it wasn’t happening, telling Speaker Johnson, so just as a point of fact, it’s against the law for non-citizens to get those subsidies. Meet the press host, Kristen Welkin, also claimed it wasn’t happening, saying undocumented immigrants, as you know, are actually ineligible for federal health care. And the list goes on. They were just in denial, claiming that the Trump administration was making claims that were not true. Well, now a judge has ruled in favor of the Trump administration dealing another blow to the Democrat Party’s lie about illegal immigrants getting Medicaid benefits. U.S. District Judge Vince Shabria said that the Trump administration can, in fact, share location data about illegal immigrants receiving public health insurance with ICE. starting next month, starting in just a few days, in January. Now, how can President Trump share Medicaid with ICE when Democrats are saying, well, there’s no illegal immigrants getting Medicaid benefits anyway? Because we all know that they are. We all know that they’re bilking the system. In his seven-page order, the judge wrote, the sharing of such information is clearly authorized by law and the agencies have adequately explained their decisions. Now, Democrat-run states, of course, oppose this. They oppose the data sharing. They think it’s unfair that it will make illegals not trust the system. Well, why do we care if they trust the system or not? They shouldn’t be applying. If they’re here illegally, they should not be getting the benefits. California’s Attorney General Rob Bonta sued the Trump administration in July to prevent the use of Medicaid data in targeting illegal immigrants. So it’s just little wins like this that the Trump administration keeps getting. this ruling means that fewer illegals will use taxpayer money to get health care because they’re going to start cracking down on the system. And they’re going to use the data that’s available to them to find these people. And this is how we stop some of the shenanigans. This is how we stop some of the fraud. We use the resources of the federal government. We use the data that’s right there in our hands to and not be concerned about whether we’re being fair to the illegals or not. We have to treat them humanely. We have to be kind to them. But if they’re here bilking our system, taking advantage of our system, we need to use the system and everything that’s involved with it to stop it. It’s just that simple. And if we had been doing things like this in Minnesota maybe, some of the things would not have happened there that have happened. 800-655-6453. Let’s go to Craig, who is in Pennsylvania. Welcome, Craig. You’re on the Mike Gallagher Show.
SPEAKER 06 :
Hey, thanks for taking my call there, Joey. Sure. I got a couple things here on the solution, but I just want to put it in perspective. The amount of fraud that we’re talking about, and I’m not vouching for the fraud, but it’s minuscule compared to the amount of money we’re dumping down the hole of these socialistic programs. True. First of all, the reason why very few people care about it, in my opinion, is because everybody’s on the take. A huge portion of Americans, and I don’t know the number, but I’m sure it’s over half, are on the take with socialistic programs. And a huge number of those are misrepresenting themselves within those programs. And everyone knows someone who is doing this. I mean, I personally… And from a very conservative background, and I know so many people that are misrepresenting themselves, misrepresenting their operations. I farm. I mean, the farming industry is just fraught with fraud when it comes to the government programs and payments and such. I mean, it’s just everywhere. You can get a grant or a program on a program for everything. And that’s why nobody cares.
SPEAKER 02 :
Yeah. Well, and it’s like, Craig, it’s like this, and I appreciate your phone call. Happy New Year to you. It’s like this New York Post article. I’m going to share it with you coming back, that housing is the same thing. Landlords taking rental assistance. I’m Joey Hudson, in for Mike.
SPEAKER 01 :
the mike gallagher show if you are telling people to arrest our ice officers our federal agents you cannot do that you’re impeding an investigation and we will charge them if they think i want they have not met me in the relief factor studios on salem news channel and salem radio network here’s mike
SPEAKER 02 :
Joey Hudson in for Mike on this Tuesday. Glad to have you join us. 800-655-6453. 800-655-MIKE. You can text me on the My Fellow text line. Call, and Alex will put you in queue. We’ll talk as time permits. Email me directly, joey at joeyhudson.com as well. Well, I’ve been asking you. over this Christmas holiday to help me reach a goal here, and that was to hit 9,000 kids with the Angel Tree Studio program. You guys have just responded in such a great way, helping bless these kids for prison fellowship. Well, can we have a drum roll there, Eric? The total right now, 9,017 kids. Thanks to my buddy Brian, who texted me a minute ago, said he was going to drop in a nice contribution there. We have exceeded that 9,000 goal, so thank you. Thank you for blessing all these kids and for prison fellowship. Like I mentioned, yes, Christmas is over, but they start working right now. towards the summer camps that they bless these kids with to give them bibles and teach them the the word of god and so uh we uh maybe mike will let me come back and guest host uh that was his goal for me was nine thousand and you guys helped me get us there we we surpassed it so thank you and thank you my buddy brian for putting us over the top back to the phones henry is in the upstate welcome henry you’re on the mike gallagher show uh thank you joey um
SPEAKER 04 :
Thank you for what you do. Happy New Year, and God bless you and your family. Same to you, Henry. Thank you, sir. My comment is, you know, all morning you’ve been asking the audience to tell you how to understand this thing. You know, how does this happen and people get away with it? I think it’s really easy and simple. Nobody ever goes to jail for doing wrong. I mean, please tell me the last time somebody has gone to jail. There’s a lot of talk. You know, Hillary Clinton, Jack Smith, those other yokels from the FBI that lied under oath. How come they’re not in jail? They lied under oath. What is… What else do we need? So this will never stop until somebody goes to jail, as far as I’m concerned. I think it’s just that simple. They just keep getting away with it.
SPEAKER 02 :
Henry, I agree. I agree. Until someone is held accountable, and if you just go to Minnesota or if you go to HUD, where we’re learning this morning that there’s massive fraud in HUD, literally almost 30,000 dead people have been receiving rental assistance. Somebody had to sign off on that. Somebody had to approve that. And whoever that is, they need to be held accountable. And you’re right, Henry. They need to go to prison.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yep. You know, it’s just like the whole FEMA thing, that if they had a Trump sign in their yard, you’re not going to help them. Well, those people, I haven’t heard anybody from FEMA go to jail. I mean, that is ludicrous for something like that to happen in the United States of America.
SPEAKER 02 :
Yep. I agree, Henry. I agree. Hey, appreciate your kind words. Appreciate your calling in. Happy New Year in upstate New York. 800-655-6453. This HUD story this morning, just being released, around 30,000 deceased tenants and thousands of potential non-citizens receiving rental assistance. HUD officials said that a, quote, a large concentration of the suspicious payments went to New York, California, and Washington, D.C., although there were dead recipients in all 50 states who received some type of assistance. To the tune of, right now, they know of $5 billion. I mean, a billion here, a billion there, $5 billion here, $10 billion there, $100 billion there. I mean, again, it makes me sick to my stomach to think about our money just being thrown away. I work hard for my money. I work hard to pay my taxes. And to know that a bunch of thugs from Somalia and other countries around the world come here and take advantage? The story out of Texas. where these three illegals were caught down there. I forget the country they’re from, but they were in our country illegally running a bogus debit card type program, gift card program. They would go into stores, pick the gift card off of the rack, somehow open it, get the number off of it, and then… wait, and they would monitor online that number when a legitimate customer bought it in that store and it was activated. Let’s say you bought a Visa card in a drugstore. You put $100 on it. Because they had the number off the card, they could monitor it online. They saw that $100 was on it. They would swipe that $100, have it transferred to another account. They did this with millions of dollars. And they were in our country illegally. It’s bad enough when American citizens defraud our country, when Americans take our tax dollars in a bogus way. But when illegals are coming here, when they’re coming into our country illegally and they’re taking our money and they’re laughing at us, that’s just kind of salt in the wound, isn’t it? 800-655-6453. Glad to have you with me. Love to get you to chime in here. Text me on the MyPillow text line. This is probably the tip of the iceberg with HUD as well. $5.8 billion of questionable payments out of nearly $50 billion in total federal rental assistance to public housing authorities, to contractors, to landlords and other non-federal entities in fiscal year 2024. That was just one year that this happened. Around 11% of taxpayer dollars from HUD went to more than 200,000 possibly ineligible tenants, of which 29,715 were dead. These people were dead, and they got rental assistance. How does that happen? Help me out here. Joey Hudson in for Mike today.

SPEAKER 02 :
Joey Hudson in for Mike as we watch, look out over Dallas, Texas. Those of you listening on 660 AM, The Answer, and those of you watching on the Salem News Channel. Glad to have you on this Tuesday. It’s a big day here on the Mike Gallagher Show as we just exceeded 9,000 kids for our Angel Tree campaign. begging and pleading with you to help me reach that 9,000 mark. And so thank you, thank you for your generosity in helping us help these kids. Let’s go back to the phones. Dan is actually in Minnesota. Dan, what in the world is going on in Minnesota? Hey, Dan, you with me?
SPEAKER 11 :
Hey, Dan. First, Joey, thank you for taking my call. Sure. Two, hopefully you had a Merry Christmas, and I only pray that you have a healthy, prosperous New Year coming.
SPEAKER 02 :
Thank you, Dan. You too.
SPEAKER 11 :
But getting back to this, we had a case here recently in Minnesota where a jury convicted one of these scammers of a $7.3 million scam, and the jury found him guilty, and the judge threw it out.
SPEAKER 02 :
Wow. What was the judge’s explanation for that?
SPEAKER 11 :
I have no idea. The news really didn’t cover it. They just threw it out. And being in the state of Minnesota, we can’t rely on our news here. But you should do some research on it because I want to know how this could happen.
SPEAKER 02 :
Yeah. Yeah. It’s just sickening, Dan, to see – and I don’t want to pick on Minnesota. Minnesota’s a beautiful state. I love being there. I love visiting my buddy Mike Lindell there. And I suspect that as we start digging into these programs – In other parts of the country, we’re going to find more very similar, maybe even like here in my home state of South Carolina. But it just seems that Minnesota, and Dan, I’ve shared throughout the show today a report from a local Fox affiliate, I think in the Minneapolis area, where they uncovered this back in 2018. They had a full report on it, the same thing with the daycare centers, and nobody stopped it.
SPEAKER 11 :
I totally understand that, and it is so frustrating. The other thing I hate to hear is people encouraging Republicans to leave the state. No, we’ve got to stop and fight here. This is our state.
SPEAKER 02 :
Yep, I agree. We can’t run. Hang in there, Dan. Fight the good fight. And Happy New Year to you, Dan. Appreciate your call. Clinton is in Delaware. Welcome. How are you, Clinton?
SPEAKER 13 :
Hey, Joey, how are you doing? So you mentioned a little earlier about you’re frustrated because you pay taxes, you work hard for your money.
SPEAKER 05 :
Yep.
SPEAKER 13 :
I wonder what percentage of the ballooning national debt that all this fraud is responsible for. I think that should make people outraged that this country is in such debt.
SPEAKER 02 :
Yep. We’re in debt, and it’s like we don’t care that it’s just being squandered away, billions and billions of dollars. And, you know, we hear with this latest declaration from HUD this morning of $5 billion. You know, it wouldn’t surprise me if we’re not looking at a trillion dollars or more in fraud, Clinton.
SPEAKER 13 :
That’s right. I imagine it’s – and that’s only what we’re going to learn about. I’m sure there’s a lot more that we’re not going to learn about.
SPEAKER 02 :
Exactly. Hey, Happy New Year. Appreciate your phone call. Rita is in Illinois. Welcome, Rita.
SPEAKER 12 :
Hey, how you doing?
SPEAKER 02 :
I’m wonderful. Hope you are.
SPEAKER 12 :
I am. I just want to say thank you for your service. I enjoy when you are on the radio. Well, thank you. And I was just thinking about the Somalia thing in Minnesota. I know Illinois isn’t much better. I’m sure there’s a bunch of stuff that will be – you know, uncovered here. However, I was thinking for the Minnesota Somali thing, they didn’t like our Fortnite packages that may be available to them, so they started their own. That’s what I’m thinking.
SPEAKER 02 :
Yep, very true, very true.
SPEAKER 12 :
That’s all we’ve got to do.
SPEAKER 02 :
Hey, well, happy New Year to you, Rita. Appreciate you listening in Illinois. Thanks for your kind words. 800-655-6453 is how you join the conversation. Tector says, Joey, with all this fraud and waste of taxpayers’ money that’s happening, is this why Social Security is going broke? Is that why Social Security can’t give seniors a decent cost of living raise? Well, you know, you think about it, and you think about all the waste. And that money, yes, it could be applied to help our seniors. It could be applied to help our veterans. It could be applied to help the poor who need health care. There’s a lot of ways that it could be used rather than giving it to people in our country illegally only to ship back to their homeland. Jim is in Delaware. Welcome, Jim.
SPEAKER 03 :
How are you doing? This is Jim. I was in the mortgage industry since 1985 to 2017. Ford has always been a small part of an industry, never much accepted. But when we got into the early 2000s, it became accepted. No one cared. The government, lawyers, banks, and everything. Because they know that the taxpayers are going to bail them out. No one got punished. So if you’re never going to get punished, you’re just going to continue fraud. And it just morphed into other people doing fraud. I mean, the government is a very small entity. The federal government has maybe a thousand people. You think they’re not going to – that’s their small little group. They all know because they’re all doing it. You think Nancy Pelosi doesn’t know where the bodies are buried? You think that the Cuba don’t know where the bodies are buried, and the Republicans do the same thing, and they know where the bodies are buried. So no one’s going to turn everybody in, and in the end, the taxpayers are going to have to pay because they know where they will. Yeah, I mean, you’re right.
SPEAKER 02 :
You’re so right, Jim. I mean, nobody takes full responsibility. Nobody’s held responsible. You know, it’s very similar to a boondoggle that happened here in my home state of South Carolina. We had two nuclear reactors that were set up that was going to produce electricity for a large region of the area. And $8 billion later, those two nuclear reactors are still just concrete shells because the contractors, the contracting company who was going to build them went bankrupt. All the managers and the high-level officials, they got paid, and it left an eyesore in part of South Carolina, and it cost $8 billion. And guess who’s paying the $8 billion? The state agency, South Carolina Electric and Gas, this was being built for them, supposedly, to buy the electricity back. They’re having to add… a portion onto people’s electricity bills to pay that off. One guy ended up serving some jail time. A lot of other high-level officials who made hundreds of thousands of dollars, you know, not held responsible. And as long as we don’t hold people responsible for doing this, and as long as we don’t try to correct things, they’re going to continue. I mean, this HUD story, and this HUD story is going to continue to grow. You watch it. You know, back in October 2022, an audit showed there was a problem. Nobody did anything about it. They made some suggestions. Nobody did anything about it. Just let it continue. Now we’re learning that 30,000 dead people were getting rental assistance from HUD. HUD wasted $5 billion today. It’s just crazy. Glad to have you along today. Hope you have a good one. Thanks to the team. We’ll be back again tomorrow. Happy New Year to you. I’m Joey Hudson. In for Mike.
