SPEAKER 09 :
It’s the Kim Monson Show, analyzing the most important stories.
SPEAKER 15 :
That seems to me like government is establishing a religion.
SPEAKER 09 :
The latest in politics and world affairs.
SPEAKER 15 :
If you give people rights, women’s rights, gay rights, whatever, there can’t be equal rights if there are special rights.
SPEAKER 09 :
Today’s current opinions and ideas.
SPEAKER 14 :
Surveys show that people still really prefer freedom over government force. Is it freedom or is it force?
SPEAKER 09 :
Let’s have a conversation.
SPEAKER 15 :
Indeed, let’s have a conversation. And welcome to the Kim Monson Show. Thank you so much for joining us. You eat your treasure, you’re valued, you have purpose. Today, strive for excellence, take care of your heart, your soul, your mind, and your body. My friends, we were made for this moment in history. Thank you to the team. That’s Producer Joe, Luke, Rachel, Zach, Echo, Charlie, Mike, Teresa, Amanda, and all the people here at Crawford Broadcasting. Happy Tuesday, Producer Joe. Happy Tuesday, Kim. And, boy, a lot is happening in our world right now. But check out our website. That’s KimMonson, M-O-N-S-O-N.com. Make sure that you’re signed up for our weekly e-mail newsletter that goes out on Sundays. And that way you will see our upcoming guests as well as our most recent essays. You can e-mail me at Kim at KimMonson.com. The text line is 720-605-0647. And I do want to hear from you. Thank you to all of you who support us. We are an independent voice on an independent station searching for truth and clarity by looking at these issues through this lens of freedom versus force, force versus freedom. And remember, if something’s a good idea, you should not have to force people to do it. And it’s not compassionate or altruistic to take other people’s stuff. And that’s their rights, their property, freedom, livelihood, opportunity, childhoods, or lives via force. And we’re seeing this playing out now as the veil is coming off of all of this fraud that’s been occurring in our country. And also fraud and abuse and waste. And This is hurting everyday American people, and so it’s not compassionate to take other people’s stuff. And obviously it can be a weapon, but it could be policy and unpredictable, an excess of taxation, forced fees, fear, coercion, government-induced inflation, the agenda of the World Economic Forum and the globalist elites, which is basically to take down the American idea. This idea that all men are created equal with these rights from God of life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness. And we’re seeing this play out all the way down to local governments. And so we are in this grand battle of ideas. And we’re in the third founding of our country as we are celebrating our 250th anniversary, our 250th birthday. And these are very serious times, my friends. And we must pray every day for guidance and the good Lord to show us what to do each and every day. Because this is bigger than what we can figure out just by ourselves. and do want you to join the colorado union of taxpayers you can do that by going to coloradotaxpayer.org it’s an all-volunteer group that’s watching legislation here at the colorado state house and there’s already some some tough stuff coming down the pike here And we will talk about at least one bill every day. But this group is a group of all volunteers. And when you see them out there, say thank you to Steve Dorman, Greg Golianski, Russ Haas, Bill Hamill, Rob Knuth, John Nelson, Wendy Warner, Marty Nielsen, Ramey Johnson, Mary Jansen, Dave Evans, Corey Onozorg, Paula Beard, and Ray Beard. And that website to join us is coloradotaxpayer.org. That’s coloradotaxpayer.org. Our word of the day is… is circumambient, and it spells C-I-R-C-U-M-A-M-B-I-E-N-T. And it could be encompassing on all sides, surrounding, enclosing or being on all sides, and again, encompassing. And I would say that what happened at the church in St. Paul today, where the protesters… really were circumambient to the parishioners there. And if any of you were watching any of the evening shows, this young pastor that Don Lemon was accosting, I would say, really… As I was watching this, he just was so composed. But what he said, he was able to give a testimony to Jesus Christ that we were there worshiping Jesus Christ when these protesters came into a house of worship and were disrupting it and just really very, very bad manners for sure. This is scary. Tim Walz, governor of Minnesota, had said a while back that Donald Trump and MAGA would want to be going into churches and accosting people. What they say that Trump and MAGA is going to do is what they are actually doing. It’s called projectionism, projecting onto the opposition what you are really up to. And it’s downright scary what is happening in our country right now. so I was looking for quotes and I ended up going to Thomas Jefferson because and he as I as you know he was the main architect of the Declaration of Independence and he hold on here I wanted to give a little bit more up nor blanket to Wikipedia I know there we go He was born in 1743, died in 1826. On July 4th, 1826, 50 years to the day after the Declaration of Independence was signed, he and John Adams died on the same day, which certainly is divine providence. He was the author, Thomas Jefferson was the author of the Declaration of Independence. And the Virginia Statute of Religious Freedom. He’s the founder of the University of Virginia, and he was our third president. He said today, educate and inform the whole mass of the people. They are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty. And that is what we work to do every day here at the Kim Monson Show, is to educate and inform people. inform us so that we can then engage in these conversations with our friends, family, and colleagues. And so stay tuned on all of this because there is a lot going on in our country. I did want to mention Hooters Restaurants. They have been longtime supporters of the show and I greatly appreciate their great sponsorship. How I got to know them was a basic story about freedom and free markets and capitalism and and PBIs, politicians, bureaucrats, and interested parties that were using, wanted to use their power to prevent a business from coming in and competing in the free market. And when we see a government picking winners and losers, and you can see it, all of these different economic development offices at the local, the county, and the state level, it’s really about giving special deals, picking winners and losers, and of course then They give these reports about how much giving these special deals are going to help these businesses. Actually, if we lowered taxes, lowered rules and regulations, and treated all of our businesses the same, that would be a really great idea. But I do thank Hooters restaurants. They have locations in Loveland, Westminster, and in Aurora. Great specials Monday through Friday to watch the games. And speaking of the games, the college championship last night, Indiana. Congratulations to the University of Indiana. for winning that and really a come from behind story. When we look at stories of resilience and hope, the University of Indiana football program went from very much a losing football program to winning the national championship. And so congratulations to them. And of course, Hooters restaurants has all kinds of TVs to watch all of the different games that are on out there. So again, let’s see. Bill of the day. This is House Bill 26-1036. And as of yesterday, there had been 104 bills that had already been introduced. So you wonder what’s happening. When the legislature is out of session, well, they’re still busy writing legislation. Actually, they’re not writing legislation most of the time. Many times the different entities, interested parties, are shopping legislators to try to get some legislators to carry their bills. We see many of these bills. There are similar bills throughout the country. And so this is not governing. This is not representing the people whatsoever. And this is just really, really frustrating what’s happening. We’ve got to reclaim our country. We’ve got to reclaim our state. But this is one, and I’ve got to get my fellow Colorado Union of Taxpayers to take a look at this because I see bigger danger in this than what I can actually just surmise here at the very beginning on this. But it’s local taxes on vacant residential property. And the sponsors are Representative Brianna Titone and Representative Elizabeth Velasco. And it says, concerning authorization for a local government to impose, so there’s that force word, taxes, that’s another force word, on vacant residential properties and in connection therewith, allowing a local government to levy an excise tax based on the characteristics of a residential property, allowing a local government to create a new property tax classification for vacant residential properties and levy an additional property tax on those properties and allowing local governments to contract to form a local housing tax authority. uh… so we’re going to really have to look into this and they have to talk with karen levine about this as well but it looks like an additional property tax on and they can’t property this is not treating properties equally as we should under the law so this is a very very very concerned about that then let’s see running through headlines Let me get to the first one. This is from… Hold on here. Here we go. The Western Journal. It’s titled, Oops! The Leader of Anti-Ice Church Invasion Just Made Prosecutors’ Jobs a Lot Easier. And… Nikima Levy Armstrong, an alleged organizer of an invasion of the church service in St. Paul, Minnesota, to protest immigration and customs enforcement operations, did some of the Trump Justice Department’s work for them by posting the names of those involved in the incident on social media. So that is interesting. And also, I did see Don Lemon, a former host of something, a television program. He called himself a journalist, but he actually was looking directly into The camera saying he did not know what was going to happen there at the church, but yet when he walked up to the organizers, he actually kissed one of them on the cheek. So there’s a lot of non-truth telling that’s going on out there. Next thing, and I think we did mention this, but this is from the Center Square. The states sue feds over gender ideology rules on health grants. Donald Trump said that they’re going to withhold billions of dollars in grants. And these states, New York, California, and Oregon, which they’re all in the tank, are sued and wanting this money and we need to get rid of all these grants anyway. We’ve got to get rid of that. But they said that they want to continue to get all these billions of dollars, but the Trump administration said if you’re doing transgender operations with this money, you’re not gonna get the money. And Colorado is another one of the states that’s included in that lawsuit. Next headline, and actually I’ll talk with Kevin Lundberg about this one. Apparently Tina Peters was attacked in prison the other day. She needs to be released as soon as possible. It is the compassionate and kind and merciful thing to do. And then lastly, I think this, Nick Shirley, this young journalist, he’s an independent journalist. You kind of wonder how this missed everybody else. But this is from the Alaska story. And I saw this video last night. And Nick Shirley goes up to, this is his latest video. And he exposes another $16 million in fraud. And he went and knocked on the door of this, supposedly this transportation business. It’s called Safari Transportation and Advanced Mobility, businesses that have received millions in Minnesota welfare and transportation payments. and at one Minneapolis location, the pair found no evidence that a transportation company was operating at that address. On the state’s website, it says it’s in suite 224, but it’s a one-story building, and none of the suites had the number two on them, it doesn’t exist. But as he knocked on the door, a man came out, then more men, and then more men. And you wonder what are all of them doing in this place that’s not really an office. And this fraud, defrauding the American public, when everyday people are getting taxed to the hilt and feed to the hilt, and when I say feed, F-E-E-D, like fees, feed to the hilt, Americans, Coloradans, Minnesotans, we have to start to wake up. And I think that that’s going to happen here. So I did want to say thank you to the Harris family for their gold sponsorship of the show. And also the Roger Magnet State Farm Insurance team. Roger has been in business for over 50 years, taking care of his clients and taking care of his family, giving back to the community. And I wanted to mention the USMC Memorial Foundation. They are doing such wonderful work taking care of the official Marine Memorial at 6th and Colfax and raising the money for the remodel. And it is important that we remember and honor these stories of those that have given their lives, been willing to give their lives for our freedom. So support the memorial. And you can do that by going to usmcmemorialfoundation.org. That is usmcmemorialfoundation.org. On the line with me is Kevin Lundberg. He is a former Colorado State Senator. He is the author of the Lundberg Report, which you can find at kevinlundberg.com. And we’ve got a lot to talk about. So welcome, Kevin Lundberg. Thank you.
SPEAKER 08 :
Well, it’s glad to be with you, Kim. Session of 2026 has begun, and we need to dig in and figure out what in the world they’re trying to do to us.
SPEAKER 15 :
Well, 104 bills have already been introduced, but before we get into that, you’ve been watching this whole case with Tina Peters as well as I have as well. We did deliver a petition to Governor Polis on the 22nd of December. requesting that he release her by Christmas Eve, which he has not. He has indicated he might show clemency to her, but we want to get out of the whole politics of all this. And it’s just the humanitarian thing to do, to release her. And we’d love to have him show compassion mercy and kindness to her and on two days ago on the 18th I was getting text messages yesterday that she had been attacked in prison had you heard that yet because it’s a great concern I got one message to that effect as well I like to make things public when I have solid confirmation and I
SPEAKER 08 :
It is very troubling what these reports are, that somebody attacks her, you know, another inmate, and then Tina is put in solitary confinement and potentially charged with a felony for trying to defend herself. Now, I’ve heard so many things that can happen in prison, it wouldn’t surprise me uh it would greatly distress me if if that’s uh the way dlc wants to handle this and i i think they’re digging themselves a very deep hole if these uh if this report is accurate
SPEAKER 15 :
Well, I was searching for it as well, and this is from KDVR, and it does say former Mesa County Clerk Tina Peters was involved in an incident with another inmate, according to a statement made to Fox 31 by a spokesperson for the Colorado Department of Corrections. The spokesperson confirmed that the incident occurred at the La Vista Correctional Facility on January 18th. And it says that they are now going through video at the facility to determine what has happened. But she didn’t even have a traffic ticket before this whole thing, Kevin Lundberg. This is a travesty.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah, yeah. Yeah, and I know Tina personally and have worked with her through the years. And I’m sorry, it’s just not in her. She would not be the one attacking, especially at this critical moment. I mean, it makes no sense whatsoever until you look at the way DOC has handled a lot of issues through the years. I mean, honestly, in my experience long before Tina Peters was convicted and put in prison, I’ve They had a lot of constituents that would come to me with the issues that they had, and other outside experts on prisons who would shake their heads and say, Colorado, that’s an ingrown system. I even had—one of the first bills I worked on as a legislator was to create a— an alternative system for uh prisoners when they get out on parole and they’re put in a halfway home house that that’s that’s a kind of a community-based system where where people who are coming out onto parole or are kind of reintroduced into society you might say And this particular idea that somebody came to me with was to coordinate that with local churches and say, hey, if they could build their own little pod of a halfway house system and integrate with their church, this may be a win-win. You’ve got people wanting to to work with these people. Anyway, it made every bit of sense, except for the fact that the Department of Corrections didn’t like it. And I brought this to the director of corrections, the one who the governor, then Governor Bill Owens, selected. And the guy said, you know, I think it’s a great idea, but I don’t think I can get the system to agree to it because they’re just so ingrown. And so, unfortunately, the report as I’m hearing it just might ring true. But they, you know, if this is the case, this just builds the reason why that Tina needs to be released, at least on time. bail on bond pending her appeal. And her appeal has now been heard by court, and it’s very obvious from the oral arguments. And even the governor himself has come out and said, well, this sentence is too harsh. Well, guess what, Governor Polis? You need to take action on this. Words don’t count. Actions do.
SPEAKER 15 :
That is true. And let’s give his phone number, Governor Jared Polis. That’s 303-866-2471. And his email is governorpolis at state.co.us. And you can give a call or send an email. I did last week. regarding to release Tina Peters. And so this really is a travesty on what is occurring there. So Kevin Lundberg, let’s go to break just a little bit early because we want to get into, you know what, let’s do a quick update on Protect Kids Colorado and then we’ll get into the legislative session in the next segment. So Protect Kids Colorado, give us an update on that and there’s an event on Thursday, yes?
SPEAKER 08 :
Well, of course, we are in the final weeks, really, you could almost say the final days of collecting enough signatures to put on the ballot the three initiatives that we have discussed quite a bit in the past here. If anybody has any questions, they’re fresh to this program and they haven’t heard this stuff. Go to protectkidscolorado.org and learn all about it. But I’m excited. I’m going to just say that. I’m excited with all the people who are energized and working to get us across the final finish line. This is not the time that anybody’s letting up. Last night I met with dozens of circulators via Zoom from across the state, and they were just relaying all of the incredible experiences they’re having. in uh not not only success but running across a few um you know people who were uh complaining one lady down in the durango area had had a man walk up and complain a bit and then finally he just as his parting shot he spit at her oh my gosh i mean and it was just bizarre but there you know uh But it shows me that people are paying attention, even those who somehow want to defend the current policies of this state when it comes to protect or not protecting kids from the transgender contagion that is just, you know, far too rampant in our state. Anyway, we are seeing a lot of people really getting engaged, and if you’re a part of that team, please make an extra effort because we’re right on the bubble. We really are as to whether we’ll have enough. I’m confident we’ll have the minimum number, but I’m not confident that we’ll have enough of a buffer for all the signatures that the Secretary of State goes through and says, well, this one doesn’t count and that one doesn’t count. And some are legitimately, you know, not, I’m sure some people who aren’t Colorado voters, you know, filled out, signed the petition. But anyway, we’re on the path, but everybody needs to jump on board because we’ve really got till the end of this month to get everything signed up and then back to us so that we can turn this in a couple of weeks down the road from there. So anyway. Good report. Fantastic. Everybody’s working hard. And if you haven’t gotten involved yet, go to protectkidscolorado.org. And we’re ready to put you to work on this.
SPEAKER 15 :
Well, and again, that’s protectkidscolorado.org. And I do have a question. We’re at break time. On one of the ballot questions, I am working on my petition, and I had some people that asked a question, which was interesting. So we’ll talk about that when we come back. These important discussions happen because of our sponsors. For everything residential real estate, reach out to Karen Levine.

So be sure and check out the center. That website is AmericanValueCenter.org, AmericanValueCenter.org. I’m talking with Kevin Lundberg. He is a former Colorado State Senator. He is the author of the Lundberg Report. Also, he is on the board for Protect Kids Colorado. And I’m carrying my petition, working on that petition. Kevin Lundberg, and I had some people that are in the public education realm regarding the ballot question protecting children from sex trafficking. And they were concerned about unintended consequences regarding kids doing stupid things or uh romeo and juliet where a guy might be 18 his girlfriend’s 16 could they um could that be considered sex trafficking if if they had sex could they you know basically be put in the guy put in prison throwing away the key and i I said, well, my understanding is that if there’s money involved, and then they pushed back and said, well, what if they break up and he sells pictures of the girlfriend to somebody else? I’m like, so what would you say to all that, Kevin?
SPEAKER 08 :
Well, first I want to say that sex trafficking of minors is a very serious crime. And we are placing, through this initiative, a very serious penalty on it, which is life in prison without parole. Now the question is, what does that mean? First off, we’re not changing the rules or the laws that define sex trafficking. comfortable with what that says. But you’re right. There’s always a gray edge somewhere. Bear this in mind. It says life in prison without a parole. But that’s, one, understand how the process goes is the local district attorney has the prerogative to either press those charges or to modify the charge. If it’s truly a judgment call like that, then that shouldn’t happen. And if this charge goes to trial, well, then the jury needs to look at these facts as well and determine is this really what happened or not. Finally, if there is evidence and we just discussed this with tina peters um if there is a sentence rendered that’s not a just sentence the governor has every right and authority to either commute the sentence or to pardon the entire um uh conviction um so there there are elements within here that allow the exception to be handled properly. I would emphasize this other fact, and that is we are not trying to throw people in prison. We are trying to tell the bad guy who is engaging in either buying or selling sex for involving minors that you don’t do that in Colorado, period. Mark Geist, who is our spokesperson for that particular issue, and he’s one of the heroes from the Benghazi situation a dozen years ago. And he was also a deputy sheriff in Teller County dealing with child sex trafficking. And so he knows this very, very well. And he makes the argument very, very appropriately, I believe. Actually, I was in a at an event at Colorado Christian University just last week where he gave an incredible defense on why this is the appropriate level. But as I say, there are exceptions within the law and will be for that circumstance you described. I will not tell you that justice will be perfect, but we have to make the, you know, here’s the path we can’t take. And that’s what the legislature has been doing and has done for every felony crime, these included. And that is they’ve created so many loopholes. that the bad guy, the one who really deserves this punishment, is going free. So you’ve got to tighten the rules up. But this isn’t without some safety valves.
SPEAKER 15 :
Okay. Thank you for addressing that, Kevin. I really appreciate that. And actually…
SPEAKER 08 :
Let me jump in one more thing before we move over to bills. And that is you mentioned the special event that Protect Kids Colorado is having this Thursday in the Denver area. And this one is focused on protecting girls in girls’ sports programs. We are completely sold out on that one. We knew we had to limit it to reservations because of the, you know, the number of people who can get in the facility, and I was told just last night that we are fully subscribed on that at this point. So it’s one more evidence of people are jumping on board, and it should be a good program. Love to give you a report on it next week if, you know, But I don’t want to encourage more people to show up because we just don’t have the space for them.
SPEAKER 15 :
That’s such a great problem to have, Kevin Lundberg. So next thing from the Lundberg report, Erin Lee has become just this amazing voice regarding protecting our children. And, of course, her child, and you’ve done a movie as well, which is artclubmovie.com. uh regarding her daughter went to like 11 or 12 years old that she was new in school shy and asked if she could go to an art club after school and she did and it actually was a transgender indoctrination session and so aaron and john her husband have really have been on a journey to to reclaim their daughter. And it’s a great positive story. There’s stories that don’t end as well, but Erin’s become this amazing voice. And you had referenced this in your Lumberg report that she said that the son of House Bill 1312 from last year is back. So tell us about that one.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah, well, this is the big bill that really hit the national news scene last session that essentially was designed to force parents and other people and businesses to accept any transgender issues. situation without question. And for parents, it’s particularly troubling because, and 1312 went through several iterations, but it still came down to the same thing. And that is that if parents don’t use the proper pronoun and affirm their child’s supposed decision to try to change their sex, one of which is impossible, they really can’t, but to push them down that road, um, that, uh, the parents will be, um, uh, the court will have the ability to say, well, that’s, that’s a, that, that means that you shouldn’t be parenting this child. Um, you know, I’m just putting it in very simple terms. Well, yes, that idea is back with, with a new bill and let me find the title because that, that, uh, It shows you how deceptive this stuff can be. The title is called Legal Protections for Dignity of Minors. And it basically says that, one, if a minor changes their name, and most likely this is because they’re in this you know, transgender changing mood. And I’m going to say mood because the statistics show that most kids, if they think they need to do this, if you just ignore that, they grow out of it. But anyway, so this law says if they go to a court to change their name, that’s to be held secret so nobody knows about it. And then secondly, and this is the real killer, if a parent is not supportive of transing the child, the court is to use that criteria to restrict or remove the parent’s access to the child. And this most likely happens within a divorce situation where one parent is trying to push the child that direction or allowing it at least. And the other parent says, no, I’m not going to go along with this. Well, the court’s going to say, if you don’t go along with it, then we won’t let you see your kid. But it could be interpreted if a child, maybe both parents, and it’s a healthy family except for this problem with this child’s opinion of who they are. And if some outside entity goes and says, well, we think this child needs to be removed from this family. Well, this is criteria that the court could use to say, I guess you’re right. Colorado law says if you don’t affirm your child changing their gender, then you aren’t to be trusted as a parent. It’s the same thing. It’s just coming back in another form. And they did pass the other bill after they manipulated the language but kept the same principle in place. But this makes it… more firm in Colorado law if this becomes law.
SPEAKER 15 :
And that number is Senate Bill 26018, I think.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yes, Senate Bill 18 is the simple way to call it.
SPEAKER 15 :
Right.
SPEAKER 08 :
Okay. Yeah.
SPEAKER 15 :
Well, we’re going to go to break. We’re talking with Kevin Lundberg about legislation that is being proposed down at the Statehouse. And it’s important that we shed light on all of these things that are occurring, and we do that because of our sponsors. April 26th, 1777. Colonel, the British are raiding Danbury and burning the town. I’ll go tell them. Sixteen-year-old Sybil Ludington mounted her horse and rode 40 miles through night and pouring rain. That’s twice the distance of Paul Revere to sound the alarm.
SPEAKER 17 :
Quickly, assemble at my father’s house.
SPEAKER 10 :

SPEAKER 15 :
And welcome back to the Kim Monson Show. Be sure and check out our website. That is Kim Monson, M-O-N-S-O-N.com. And 2026 is your time for financial freedom. And give Jody Henze and her team over at Mint Financial Strategies a call. They’re an independent firm and an accredited investment fiduciary, and they will always put your interests first. And Mint means more than money. It stands for Meaningful Relationship, Information Sharing, and a network of smart strategies and a thoughtful advisor who puts you in control. So give them a call, that number’s 303-285-3080, 303-285-3080, and they are going to have a couple of events first part of February regarding the psychology of retirement. One is an in-person event at Maggiano’s and the other is a online event. And so reach out to Jody at 303-285-3080 for more information. We are talking with Kevin Lumberg. He is the author of the Lumberg Report. And he’s a former state senator, so he really understands what’s happening down at the statehouse. So I know you’re watching legislation. Kevin Lumberg, what’s on your radar? What should people be aware of?
SPEAKER 08 :
Well, of course, we just got the first round of bills introduced and went through those this past week and discovered some good ones and some bad ones. Unfortunately, the good ones are being proposed by good, solid conservative Republican legislators, and they probably won’t survive the first round. But nonetheless, they’re in there swinging, and I appreciate that and encourage that to continue. But the bad bills, it’s mostly sponsors who have a pretty good chance of getting them passed. And this is a list that I will continue to compile throughout the session. So I would urge people to go to my website, KevinLundberg.com, click on Lundberg Report, and check out the latest iteration of that list. Let me give you a couple of examples. Here’s the House Bill 1021, Second Amendment Protection Act. This is a laundry list of bad law in Colorado that limits our Second Amendment rights. And I think it’s a great bill. It really sets down a marker of saying these things need to go away. And I want people to think about that when election time comes around next, later this year, I should say. Let’s see a couple. Here’s one I want people to know about as well that may not seem like a big deal in a sense. It’s called challenges meeting 2030 emissions reduction goals. That’s the title. And I call it a mild pushback against shutting down all coal-fired plants by 2030. Now, I’m going to talk about this a lot, and I have in the past, too, that current Colorado law requires all coal-fired plants to be decommissioned and shut down by 2030. And this is 2026. and it takes years and years for these things to occur so they are starting right now as a matter of fact their all the utilities are supposed to come up with them with their plan on how they’re going to do this and submit it to the to the state um the end of march uh this bill does two things it extends that to the end of may gives them a little more time to come up with the plan but it also in uh says and they can list in there the challenges they will be uh coming up against to do this. Now, that’s kind of a mild way of saying and tell the state why this is impossible to occur. And a little background on this one. There is a utility down in the Colorado Springs area that serves several of our military bases. And you take away their coal-fired plants and you uh they they will not be able to provide the uh the reliable service to those those military bases that provide national security um and and that’s what really initiated this is you know this this one utility saying help stop we’ve got we’ve got to be able to make our case somehow and so it’s it’s it doesn’t change the law it it i mean the the requirement that they shut down but but at least it gives them a greater opportunity to make it more public i’m trying to make it really public that we’ve got this brick wall in front of us because you take away our base power supply which are coal-fired plants and you really take away the ability of colorado to it exists in its current form um you know so anyway that that’s that’s a good bill um what’s that bill number on that one oh uh let’s see uh it is senate bill 22.
SPEAKER 15 :
So, Kevin, as you’re talking about this, and as you know, I have my other show, America’s Veterans Stories, and so I’ve learned about military strategy. Clearly, I’m just a civilian, but I’ve listened to military strategy. From a big picture standpoint, if you could neutralize our military that they don’t have the energy, the power to do the things they need, Well, from a war standpoint, that’s a great way to win a war is to just totally neutralize the power sources for your opposition. And so here we are from a public policy standpoint, doing that and potentially neutralizing several of our military facilities. It’s really dumb, is what it is, unless you are trying to put America in a really vulnerable situation, I think. Your comments?
SPEAKER 08 :
Well, yes, along with the rest of the economy as well. When they had these shutdowns for concern of the winds that were coming in, and so up here where I live, up in northern Colorado, they pulled the plug on the utility intentionally to, you know, ostensibly to protect against some wildfire starting, which is pretty legitimate concern. But the impact of that was just far reaching. It wasn’t just flip the switch on and everything’s okay again. I don’t know. They had tremendous problems. And for our military, I understand that the utilities have to agree that provide power to these bases, have to agree that they will give a reliability rate of 99.9%, which means we pretty much guarantee that we’re going to be there always. And you take away the coal-fired plants and they won’t. And here’s one other thing to fortify the argument that this is a real serious issue is there’s a coal-fired plant up in the Craig area that I don’t recall the utility that runs that particular or has the interest in that particular plant. But the Secretary of Energy, Chris Wright, the U.S. Secretary of Energy said, issued a demand, and I don’t know all the legal details on it, but last month, I believe it was in late December, he issued a ruling that said, you can’t shut this down. This is of a national security interest. that we have to have this coal-fired plant continue. And so I think some effort is being made already to to stop some of this nonsense. But it is dangerous nonsense that, yes, jeopardizes our national security. It jeopardizes the health and well-being of people who are dependent upon electricity to help them with their oxygen machines, for example, and other things that You may have some temporary backup, but if it’s out for a period of time, now people really are in danger of many, many things. And somehow the leadership in Colorado thinks it’s a good idea to just wholesale fashion strip out our base power for electricity to somehow force us into a renewable energy situation, which doesn’t work to that extent. It’s a great alternative, but it’s an alternative to the standard normative operations.
SPEAKER 15 :
Okay, well, we are in a very dangerous situation in Colorado, particularly with this legislation that is being proposed and the good legislation that will not, as you say, probably make it out of committee. We’ve got a minute left. How would you like to wrap this up, Kevin Lundberg?
SPEAKER 08 :
Well, let me give you one more bill that hopefully won’t go very far, but it’s another one of those sleepers. This is Senate Bill 8. which deals with mental health access. It’s setting up a new fee, tax really, against internet service providers in order to pay for mental health services for the people of Colorado. Hopefully this one is just kind of a dumb idea that they’re going to kill. I don’t know. But watch this one. It could grow into a monster. And watch all the others and just stay tuned. I come out with my list at the end of the week. And so far they haven’t introduced anything additionally this week. But as we dig into the session, we’ll have, you know, this is maybe 15%, 20% of the bills that we’ll see eventually.
SPEAKER 15 :
Yeah, and so hang on and check out Colorado Union of Taxpayers as well. We’ll be watching this legislation. We look at legislation as it’s scheduled for hearings. And so stay tuned on that. Kevin Lumberg, as always, I greatly appreciate it. And we’ll be doing this weekly throughout the legislative session. And then also check out Protect Kids Colorado. If you’ve not signed the petitions, there’s a place on there that I’m sure you can find a place to do so. Kevin, have a great week.
SPEAKER 08 :
Thank you very much and look forward to talking next week.
SPEAKER 15 :
Yes, and our quote for the end of the show is from Thomas Jefferson. He said this, By oft repeating an untruth, men come to believe it themselves. So today, be grateful, read great books, think good thoughts, listen to beautiful music, communicate and listen well, live honestly and authentically, strive for high ideals, and like Superman, stand for truth, justice, and the American way. You are not alone, my friends. God bless you. God bless America. Stay tuned for hour number two.

Indeed. Let’s have a conversation, and welcome to our number two of the Kim Monson Show. Thank you so much for joining us. You each are treasured, you’re valued, you have purpose. And boy, we’ve got so much to talk about. But check out our website. That is Kim Monson, M-O-N-S-O-N dot com. Make sure you are signed up for our weekly email newsletter that goes out on Sundays, highlighting our upcoming guests as well as our most recent essays. You can email me at Kim at Kim Monson dot com. And the text line is 720-605-0647. I do want to hear from you. And I do thank all of you who support us. We’re an independent voice on an independent station searching for truth and clarity as we look at these issues through the lens of freedom versus force, force versus freedom. If something’s a good idea, you should not have to force people to do it. On the show, we focus on the issues, and we’ll mention the people involved in those issues, but we really work to stay out of all the personality stuff that is occurring out there. I did want to say thank you to the Harris family for their goal sponsorship of the show. And let’s get into it here. Let’s see. Okay, first thing, our word of the day. is circumambient, it’s spelled C-I-R-C-U-M-A-M-B-I-E-N-T. It’s encompassing on all sides or surrounding. And it seems that this radical activist agenda, particularly here in Colorado, particularly with this legislature that is in session, is circumambient regarding surrounding us to take away our freedoms. And there’s a real assault upon the American idea. And so we are in this huge battle of ideas that’s occurring. That’s why we do the show. It’s so A, that you… are informed on what is happening and B, that you can engage in conversations with others to let them know what is happening and then we must take action to reclaim this beautiful state that we love as well as our country. And so we go to Thomas Jefferson for our quote of the day and Thomas Jefferson was born in 1743, died on July 4, 1826 and that was 50 years to the day after the Declaration of Independence was signed and we are now in our 250th year our birthday and we are in the third founding of our country And it is an enormous battle of ideas. And we’re seeing in Minneapolis, though, that there are those that I think really are trying to push this, these radical activists. This is not about ICE. This is not about immigration. This is bigger than that. This is about taking down the American idea. And… We’re in a very concerning situation in our country at this particular point in time. But this is what Thomas Jefferson said. He was the author of the Declaration of Independence and the Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom. He was the founder of the University of Virginia and the third president of the United States. And he said this. He said, educate and inform the whole mass of the people. They are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty. And with the 24-hour news cycle and social media, it is difficult to try to get through all of the stuff that’s being thrown at us. But that’s why we do this show. And I wanted to say thank you to… Sandra, she said, good morning. Regarding these infiltrators in our midst, she said, our Heavenly Father tells us there will be days like this and we are to hold fast onto his holy scriptures. And she had sent John for… three over to read. So I will get to that here in a bit. But thank you, Sandra, for those words of encouragement. We must carry on each and every day. Our bill of the day, and Susan responded, she said, that’s a crazy proposed law, taxing vacant residential properties. And this is our bill of the day, House Bill 26-1036. concerning authorization for a local government to impose, there’s that force word, taxes on vacant residential properties and in connection there with allowing a local government to levy an excise tax based on the characteristics of a residential property. allowing a local government to create a new property tax classification for vacant residential properties and levy an additional property tax on those properties and allowing local governments to contract to form a local housing tax authority. i i i’ve got to talk with my fellow colorado union of taxpayers board members on this one this looks like this has far-reaching consequences that i can’t quite get my brain around but i do want to say thank you to that team that it is uh that’s a volunteer group watching legislation that steve dorman greg golianski russ haas bill hamill rob knuth john nelson wendy warner marty nielsen ramey johnson mary jansen dave evans corey owners org paula beard and ray beard when you see these folks say thank you because they are doing an amazing service for you and your families your businesses and your neighbors and colleagues so be sure and say thank you to them and that again that is house bill 26 10 36 104 pieces of legislation have been uh introduced and we we at the colorado union taxpayers will be watching all of that Regarding headlines, this is crazy that this is happening in the United States of America, that this Sunday there was an invasion of a church service in St. Paul, Minnesota, and ostensibly to protest immigration and customs enforcement operations. But the alleged organizer of this actually posted the names of all those involved in the incident on social media. But the idea that we would have people going in and disrupting church services is… We’re getting into… Real tyranny. We’re getting into third world status in many of these beautiful blue cities that are being destroyed. You can look at San Francisco, Denver, Minneapolis, New York, Chicago. These great cities are devolving into third world countries. And I know that many people that live in the suburbs, we think that that’s not going to spill over into our communities, but it is. And I watched the video of Don Lemon accosting the pastor there. And this pastor really… really kept his cool when they were really pushing at him. But it was also a beautiful thing that he said, the reason that we are here is to worship Jesus Christ. This is about Jesus Christ. So even in all that, God used this moment to… to have a testimony regarding Christian faith. And so it’s amazing what can happen. Those that wanted evil and to highlight that actually was used to have a testimony for Jesus Christ. So that was pretty amazing. Let’s see. Fill in today. Make sure that I get through all of these other things. Let’s see. Oh, we mentioned it and talked with Kevin Lumberg as well in our number one. And that was Tina Peters was attacked in prison a couple of days ago. She’s been moved to solitary confinement, is my understanding. We must continue to pray for her release and recovery. She did not have a traffic ticket before this whole event and she was convicted of these different charges against her and she received a very harsh sentence of nine years in prison and was not allowed to post bond during her appeal. And it does note in this news article, which was, I think it was KDVR, let me just check that for sure, that there are those on both sides of the aisle that want Polis to keep her in prison. One has to ask why. So stay tuned. We will stay on top of all of that. And we have these important discussions because of our sponsors, and John Bozen with Bozen Law and his team are a trusted firm to have on your side of the table if you’ve been injured. And if you’d like to have a complimentary discussion, appointment with them, give them a call. That number’s 303-999-9999. SPEAKER 03 :
Thanks for having me, Kim.
SPEAKER 15 :
Well, and let’s talk about Iran. You published a couple of pieces last week. One was the exiled Iranian prince lays out plan to retake the country and that the U.S., the second article is the U.S. imposes sanctions on Iran over deadly clampdown on protests. I’m hearing stories of people being killed because they’re protesting the current leadership in Iran. So what should people know?
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah. Yeah. So to back up on the protests, they are, I guess, kind of first and foremost set off by just poor economic conditions in the country and primarily collapse in the value of the Iranian rial. That’s their currency. And then, you know, of course, as these protests have dragged on, I think we’re at kind of like the – I think the three-week mark at this point. As these protests have dragged on, they’ve become obviously more contentious towards – towards the Iranian government, towards the Ayatollahs. And so that’s kind of where the flashpoint has been, where Iranian security forces have been cracking down on these protesters. And we don’t know exactly the casualty figures from this. It’s kind of impossible to verify from where I’m sitting. But the numbers kind of range from several hundred to several thousand in terms of how many people have been killed or injured as these things have gone on for three weeks now.
SPEAKER 15 :
And so during the Obama administration, there were protests. And my understanding back then was that if – If Obama would have indicated some support for the protesters, that it would have made a difference and perhaps at that point toppled the despotic reign of the Ayatollahs in Iran. But my understanding is he didn’t do anything and so those protests were not successful. What about the Trump administration? Are they signaling that they are supporting the protesters? And do I have that right regarding Obama?
SPEAKER 03 :
Well, as far as Obama goes, it is hard to play the counterfactual of I think what we’ve seen through history is that removing one leader is easy. What comes after is the challenging part. And so I can’t get into Obama’s mind as far as his decision, oh, do we have a credible kind of day after plan for once the ayatollahs are gone. We have certainly with Trump in the last couple weeks seen that he has vocalized his support for these Iranian protesters. He said, you know, take over your institutions and keep the names of your abusers, your killers and your abusers, and help is on the way. So what exactly that help is, what that means, I think that’s something we’re kind of seeing or learning in real time. And then, you know, this past week, kind of the first concrete move was a round of new sanctions targeting several Iranian security force commanders and then as well targeting a network of business entities and business executives that are, I guess, what they’ve been doing or what the Treasury Department says that they are kind of acting as this sort of financial front group to circumvent previous sanctions on other Iranian banks. So these sanctions certainly are meant kind of as an initial step by the Trump administration to crack down. I don’t know if that will be the final catalyst that gets the Iranian people to rise up and to fully overthrow the Ayatollah or if it’s going to take more work than that. We have seen in the past week the USS Abraham Lincoln carrier strike group has started moving west from the Indo-Pacific. final destination to be determined. When I talk to folks at the Pentagon, they will not confirm that the carrier strike group is on the move, but you can see through open source intelligence that those ships are moving to the west, presumably towards the Arabian Sea or the Persian Gulf, which would put them within striking distance of Iran.
SPEAKER 15 :
Okay. But if, in fact, the Ayatollahs are toppled, then there’s that vacuum of leadership. And you had published this piece, Exiled Iranian Prince Lays Out Plan to Retake Country. So what should we know about that?
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah, so this is the son of the Iranian Shah, Mohammed Reza Pahlavi. It’s his son. Riza Pahlavi, and I was at this press conference back on Friday where he was laying out his plan, and essentially what he’s saying is the ayatollah is going to fall regardless. It’s a matter of time, and really the time factor is determined by the level of international support that these protests get. I am the logical sort of candidate to back here to lead the country through the protests. And so basically what he said is, you know, I would like to see the international community take. I believe it was six different specific steps, but the key ones in my mind are, you know, he called for strikes on the Iranian military command and control capabilities to kind of take those offline, Iranian security forces take those offline, ramp up the sanctions and kind of help facilitate communications within Iran using methods like satellite internet, like Starlink, to kind of help the Iranian dissident kind of uprising communicate and get its messages throughout the country as well as out to the rest of the world. And then he says, this will hasten the collapse of the Ayatollah. And then after that, be prepared to recognize a credible transition government led by me. He said, I’m the I’m the logical candidate here. Just because of my family history, he says, you know, the Iranian people specifically are reaching out to me and siding with me and saying they want me to lead this. And his vision that he laid out is kind of we’re going to work for three to six months here to kind of settle things and set up the conditions for a national referendum where everybody can vote and send their representative to basically a constitutional assembly to draft a new constitution for the country. And they’ll kind of continue to work and refine this constitutional draft until everybody’s in it, or at least a solid majority is in agreement over what the country should look like after the Ayatollahs.
SPEAKER 15 :
And what about, so Donald Trump has indicated support for the Iranian protesters. What about Europe? What about other countries? What does that look like?
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah, so the international community is certainly, and from various different figures, they have indicated their support for the protests. As far as the support for Reza Pahlavi himself, that is a little bit less clear. Obviously, Trump has said, I support the protests. But he has vocalized kind of, I’m not really sure if this Reza Pahlavi, you know, exiled crown prince is the right guy. And if we’re at the correct stage with all the, variables in place to back this guy’s, you know, sort of claim to be the, you know, the return of the king here. And I would just, I would take that out more broadly to the rest of the international community. You see certainly in the collective West and NATO, European Union, definitely strong condemnations of the crackdowns on the protests. And certainly people saying, you know, the Ayatollah has to go. But there is still some consensus to be found with regard to what happens after the Ayatollah.
SPEAKER 15 :
Okay, so stay tuned on that. We’re going to continue the discussion with Ryan Morgan. He is a reporter for the Epoch Times focusing on military and foreign affairs, but did want to mention Little Richie’s from Parker to Golden. Little Richie’s Pizza and Pasta is your go-to for real New York-style pizza, hearty pastas, and that unbeatable local vibe. They’re serving up daily specials, quick and tasty weekday lunch deals, and they have a happy hour. The locals actually build their plans around. So whether you’re bringing the crew, catching up with friends, or flying solo for a hot slice, Little Richie’s in Parker and Golden is your neighborhood hangout. And another great sponsor of the show is the Second Syndicate, doing important work to protect our Second Amendment rights, to keep and bear firearms to protect ourselves against bad actors.

We’re talking with Ryan Morgan, a reporter for the Epoch Times focusing on military and foreign affairs. And you published a piece last week regarding Greenland. You said, U.S., Denmark, Greenland to form a working group to find an agreement on the island’s future. And there are those that… are using Donald Trump’s comments about buying Greenland or lots of different comments about Greenland. And there are those that are saying that he’s trying to be like an imperialist. So what’s your thoughts on this particular issue, Ryan Morgan?
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah, well, based on the discussion that took place last week, I believe it was Vice President Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, they met with their counterparts from both Denmark and Greenland. And at least from that meeting, it sounds like they are trying to find some consensus where they can essentially work out a deal with The contours of which are, you know, remain to be seen, but the idea at least is we’re going to work constructively to all find some kind of an agreement that Denmark, Greenland, and the U.S. will be happy with. Now, of course, you know, Trump has, on his side, he’s kind of, if J.D. Vance and Marco Rubio are playing good cop, Trump is playing bad cop, and he’s, you know, he’s kind of the more forceful side of the equation here where he’s saying, you know, the U.S. will have Greenland one way or the other. And he is certainly kind of rattling people’s cages with how the United States is going to get control of Greenland. So, yeah, we don’t have a specific deal in place yet. But there is kind of the good cop side of the negotiation here from the rest of the administration trying to work out some sort of deal. I’m not quite sure how that’s going to look as we go forward.
SPEAKER 15 :
Why is Trump so focused on Greenland?
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah, so I would say three real obvious reasons to me. The first one is as the As kind of the Arctic ocean pathways open up, whether that’s seasonal, whether that’s brought on by changing climate, I’m not going to get into that. But what I will say is as those kind of maritime passageways open up, Greenland is sort of sitting at a choke point where it could actually be really useful for trade through the Arctic region. That’s one. Two is as Trump is sort of standing up his, you know, his Golden Dome missile defense kind of program, he’s sort of looking at how we can bolster different aspects of our current missile defense emplacements. And, you know, you’re not going to really get a great impression for it when you look at a flat world map. But when you look at a globe, you can see kind of how Critically, Greenland is located between the United States and Russia, where if Russia were to conduct a missile launch, wherever that’s going, Greenland could potentially be an early warning and placement. I think historically the United States has already had MANY DIFFERENT LONG-RANGE RADARS TO TRACK FOR MISSILE LAUNCHES COMING OUT OF RUSSIA. POTENTIALLY HAVING CONTROL OF GREENLAND WOULD ALLOW US TO INCREASE SORT OF THOSE LONG-RANGE RADAR AND PLACEMENTS. AND THEN THIRD ONE THAT WE SHOULD REALLY CONSIDER IS THE COMPETITION FOR RARE EARTH MINERALS. Greenland has potentially a very vast, untapped wealth of resources in that regard, and so that’s something that the Trump administration has actually been looking at for several years, even going back to his first administration. There are people in his first administration who, after leaving, That, they moved over into the critical mineral sector, and they have looked at Greenland specifically. So that’s something that they’ve been working on for years to get access to this rare earth, which will be kind of critical going forward as we get into kind of more advanced computing. It’s something that we’re really trying to compete with China as they have a very vast… supply chain for those rare earths.
SPEAKER 15 :
Okay. Well, there’s strategic reasons why Trump is floating this question for sure. Last thing, let’s talk a bit about Venezuela and the U S troops. You recently published this, uh, had seized another oil tanker in the Caribbean. And then with the shin and the Senate is, um, uh, shelves a bill to block military action in Venezuela. So what are you seeing with all of this, Ryan Morgan?
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah, so right now, ever since the January 3rd Operation Absolute Resolve, U.S. troops obviously captured Nicolas Maduro. What we’ve seen since then is that the Trump administration actually doesn’t really seem to want to get too bogged down into the kind of nitty-gritty details of the day after in Venezuela. They are kind of taking this sort of long-term. We’re going to administer it from afar, and we’re happy to work with Maduro’s deputy. That’s Vice President Delcy Rodriguez. We’re not going to, I guess, try and put our own person in power right from the get-go. We’ll get to elections when we get to them. But basically, right now, This is all working because Delcy Rodriguez is under pressure from the United States to cooperate so that she doesn’t have the same thing that happened to Maduro happen to her. So there was a vote last week in the Senate where And this was primarily led by Democrats. They wanted to impose a war powers resolution to discontinue any further military action directed at Venezuela. And, you know, the Trump administration basically argued and they flipped a couple of key votes here. That was kind of the deciding factor. They, you know, they argued essentially there are no U.S. troops in Venezuela. We have no plans to put U.S. troops back in Venezuela other than for a very brief moment if we need to go snatch and grab somebody else. And so this war powers resolution is not, it’s not pertinent. It’s It’s unfounded at this point. It’s irrelevant here. And so that actually managed to flip two key votes and brought the final vote in the Senate to a 50-50 standoff where Vice President Vance cast the tie-breaking vote to shut down this Democrat-led War Powers Resolution. And then the very next day, U.S. troops did seize an oil tanker in the Caribbean that was alleged to – I guess it was sailing towards Venezuela to pick up a – you know, consignment of oil and the message coming out of the administration as they captured that tanker was, we are in control of, you know, the oil traffic going in and out of this country, and there will be no tankers leaving Venezuela with consignments of sanctioned oil unless we say otherwise.
SPEAKER 15 :
So after the capture of Maduro, headlines that they’re calling it the Dunrow Doctrine or the Donrow Doctrine as a play on the Monroe Doctrine. What do you think about that?
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah. I like the play on words, first off. I’ve also heard it called the Trump corollary. You’ll hear it either way, either Trump corollary or the Donroth Doctrine. Certainly, it does put Trump’s actions in recent weeks into a historical context that, at least from a messaging standpoint, gives him some latitude to… sort of convince Congress like, hey, this doesn’t need to be a contentious issue where we discuss war powers and authorizations of military force. And certainly the Republican majority in Congress has been fine with kind of that characterization. Originally, the Monroe Doctrine was about letting countries within the Western Hemisphere kind of decide their own their own, I guess, governance, their own future, and keep out primarily European powers at the time, European kind of colonial interests coming from the other side of the Atlantic. Now, sort of that Monroe Doctrine is being rephrased as if If Russia or China specifically are the two powers that Trump’s probably really thinking of, if they’re coming into the Caribbean to Venezuela or to Cuba to prop them up, to kind of build out these little thorns inside of the United States, then we won’t allow that. So it is a slight rephrasing of kind of the original intent of the Monroe Doctrine, but it is being treated by the Trump administration as this revitalization of kind of a longstanding geopolitical premise that we’ve been working from.
SPEAKER 15 :
Okay, and then last question, and this came in from Mark on the text line, which is 720-605-0647. I’ve called the Epoch Times the Epoch Times, and I think I’d ask Victoria about this. How do you pronounce the place where you work?
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah, that’s a great question. For the longest time, I was calling it the epoch. I’ve started to call it more of the epoch or the epic. But the guidance that my boss has given out is, hey, our publication, we believe in freedom of speech, and freedom of speech includes freedom of pronunciation. So it is really up to you.
SPEAKER 15 :
Okay. Well, there you go. Hey, Ryan Morgan, thank you so much. He is a reporter for the Epoch Times focusing on military and foreign affairs. So I greatly appreciate it, and we will talk again very soon.
SPEAKER 03 :
All right. Thank you. Take care.
SPEAKER 15 :
And that’s good to get that clarification for sure. And so I think I’ll call it the epic times in my freedom of speech. And I did want to mention the Center for American Values, located in Pueblo on the Riverwalk, focused on these foundational principles, teaching them to our kids, honoring them through our Medal of Honor recipients and their portraits of valor. And those foundational principles are honor, integrity, and patriotism. And so be sure and support the center. You can do that by going to AmericanValueCenter.org, AmericanValueCenter.org. And another great sponsor of the show is Lauren Levy for Everything Mortgages.

And on the line with me is James Wiley, and he is a candidate for Secretary of State here in Colorado, which is a very important office. James Wiley, welcome to the show. Thanks, Kim. So great to be back. So James, tell us your journey to get to the point of running for Secretary of State.
SPEAKER 06 :
Well, for me, it’s always been about election integrity. I’ve been fighting for election integrity since the 2020 disaster and the epicenter that Colorado represented in that situation. I’ve been involved in numerous lawsuits related to depending class action, the Tina Peters call out a recount, lawsuits, and then the BIOS password as part of the Libertarian Party. And so I decided to get more involved in politics A few years ago in 2023 running for Congress and that actually gave me standing to be able to sue Jenna Griswold over the bios passwords because I was a candidate and I also got the LPCO to sue. But now I’m excited to say that I’m running as a Republican and I still have standing as a candidate for Colorado Secretary of State. I’m excited to see what we can do this year to improve our elections before I even get into office.
SPEAKER 15 :
Now, who is running for Secretary of State on the Democrat side? Anybody that we recognize the names?
SPEAKER 06 :
Amanda Gonzalez. She’s the clerk of Jefferson County, and I’ve sued her before and won. And also, I want to say… um jesse she’s one of the senators with the democratic party and she from jefferson county wheatridge area i believe and she’s also running so um two uh hard-hitting democratic candidates definitely going to put up a good fight and i’m excited for the challenge and i have no doubt that after i win the primary i’ll be able to really stick it to them as far as policy on elections specifically and other areas as well. And I think that we can definitely change the narrative that they’re promoting as far as the gold standard elections. It’s time that we stop lying to ourselves. The emperor really has no clothes in this situation.
SPEAKER 15 :
Well, and James Wiley, we have got to have free, fair, honest, and transparent elections. Because if we don’t, then our great American experiment will die, I think. This is really, really important. I think that Colorado is at the tip of the spear on this whole election integrity stuff. What do you think?
SPEAKER 06 :
Absolutely. We’ve got the Dominion headquarters here in Colorado, just over on Glenarm in Denver. And even though that’s a foreign company, they chose Colorado as the center of the country in which to set up shop and took over elections in more than half the state. Now they’re called Liberty Vote. Before that, Dominion. Before that, Sequoia. Before that, Smartmatic. And as we all know, Smartmatic is a Venezuelan company. We’ve got some issues with Venezuela now, and that all stems from the election fraud taking over 70 different democracies around the country, around the world, excuse me. And so Colorado is really at the heart of it. If we can make a difference here and eliminate the use of electronic voting here in Colorado, that’ll spread across the country and we’ll be liberated. I’m really proud to be a Republican because I feel like I can work to embody the party of Lincoln. And if he knew about voting machines now, I’m sure Lincoln would have quite a few problems with that concept. Not to mention the rest of our founding fathers and great patriots that came before. So we need to put voting back in the hands of humans, because this is an existential war of humans versus machines, and Colorado is the center of it.
SPEAKER 15 :
Okay. What are some of the things that you will do when elected Secretary of State?
SPEAKER 06 :
Well, I got three main platform items, free Tina Peters, and that’s a huge issue. I’m not going to be governor, so I can’t pardon her necessarily, but I can release the files, release the Tina files, everything that Jenna Griswold did, all internal communications and other things, communications with Dominion, communications with the Attorney General’s office and the prosecutor’s office. the district attorney, I want to release all those files and help exonerate her, get the information to the public about the terrible prosecution, the huge abuse of power there. The second item is I want to decertify the machines. That is a power that the Secretary of State has, and I’ll exercise that immediately, like Jenna did, decertifying the machines in Mesa County. uh back in 2021 i will exercise that power to decertify all voting machines across the state and go back to hand counts and finally i want to blockchain the record all public records which are often used for purposes and the various purposes of money laundering specifically by the cartels the silo cartel we want to secure that and make it immutable and eternal And the blockchain is the way to do that, whether that’s property deeds, birth certificates, or any of the rest. We want to know that that’s a legitimate record. And in the digital age, the only way to do that is a secure blockchain.
SPEAKER 15 :
Okay. So you’ve been in this arena for a while. You said you filed lawsuits. We also, listeners, raised money to file a couple of lawsuits. And it seems like it’s taking an awful long time to get through the legal process. What are you seeing with your lawsuits?
SPEAKER 06 :
Well, the game is entirely changed as of last Thursday. There was a new Supreme Court case where basically they were accepting ballots up to two weeks after the election, and the plaintiff was able to gain standing as a candidate. Prior, you had to be able to demonstrate that it affected the outcome of the election. But the Supreme Court said that the difference in votes, whether or not you win or lose, could still affect your reputation and other harms of which the candidate has interest. So as of last Thursday, any candidate anywhere in the country can sue their clerk, can sue their secretary of state on the mode of the election and the method of the election. And so the Colorado recounts suing over the method of the recount. We’re now able to do that. We now have standing suing over the use of the trusted build to wipe out information on the machines like what motivated Tina to do the backup. That is something that we can sue about now and or the cover up from the BIOS passwords and the conduct of the Secretary of State. and going around installing trusted builds in Denver and keeping a secret from other clerks. That’s conduct which the Secretary of State is liable for and can be sued for.
SPEAKER 15 :
Okay, and you were the, I went down to the hearing regarding the bios passwords when it was discovered that these passwords had been out on the internet for several months. And I thought it was very interesting that there was an almost immediate response that the Secretary of State’s office had looked at this breach and that there was no problem with that. And that was right before the 2024 election, wasn’t it, James Wiley?
SPEAKER 06 :
Correct. Right in the middle of the election is when we filed that lawsuit while the ballots were being counted because that’s the time that the ballot’s password was revealed and the time that they started doing trusted build updates on the computers across the state. So it’s… We’ve investigated ourselves and found ourselves to be innocent. That was the position of the Secretary of State’s office. And it was a fundamental misunderstanding, maybe a willful misunderstanding of technology that, oh, the BIOS passwords can actually affect the elections. And so there was no real risk there and the elections were perfectly secured still. We requested that the court order an immediate hand count across the state. None of the machines could be trusted at that point. But the court looked the other way. We appealed to the Supreme Court with the same effect.
SPEAKER 15 :
Wow. How can people get more information about you, James Wiley, and your campaign?
SPEAKER 06 :
You could go to my website, redflameofliberty.com, and please donate there on the website. And if you’re interested in joining the campaign, I just recently switched to the Republican Party from the Libertarian Party. So I’m looking to build my campaign team, looking for campaign managers and other staff members to join the team. So please donate and please sign up to be a part of the team. We’re going to have a really fun political season this year for sure.
SPEAKER 15 :
And James Wiley, since you have changed your affiliation to Republican, have you been contacted by state leadership to help support your campaign, or what does that look like?
SPEAKER 06 :
Well, of course, the Republican Party has to stay neutral up until the resolution, the primary. But I have been in communication with Britta and other members of leadership, and they’ve been providing me default resources that every campaign gets. I’m really grateful for that support, and I’m looking forward to having a closer relationship with the state leadership once the primary resolves. But in general, I have to express my gratitude for the heartfelt welcome I’ve received from uh people all across the state who heard about my campaign and were prepared to support what i’m the message that i’m promoting and help me get into office and make these changes that are so necessary well this is an office that is so important in
SPEAKER 15 :
for you to get in there, release reports, give us some transparency on what is happening. I know that they continue this narrative, and it’ll be very relevant to our quote for the end of the show from Thomas Jefferson, that we have the gold standard, but With your lawsuits, with our lawsuits, we realize that we do not have the gold standard in elections in Colorado, and we must have free, fair, honest, and transparent elections. That is the bedrock of representative government. James Wiley, again, your website and your final thought.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah, redflameofliberty.com, redflameofliberty.com. And I just want to say my heart goes out to Tina Peters. Please keep her in your prayers, and let’s get her freed long before the election takes place. Let’s do everything in our power. Most of my campaign is behind the purpose of messaging for that. So if she gets free, then the purpose of my campaign is largely fulfilled. I’ll continue, of course, but… Let’s make sure that she gets free yesterday. So thank you so much for the opportunity, Kim.
SPEAKER 15 :
Well, thank you, James Wiley, and thank you for stepping forward to run for Colorado Secretary of State. Such an important office, and thank you. Our quote for the end of the show is from Thomas Jefferson, who said this, By oft repeating an untruth, men come to believe it themselves. So, my friends, today be grateful, read great books, think good thoughts, listen to beautiful music, communicate and listen well, live honestly and authentically, strive for high ideals, and like Superman, stand for truth, justice, and the American way. My friends, you are not alone. God bless you, and God bless America.
