6-2-2024: France for the Anniversary for D-Day- Christian Taylor Elaborates

Welcome to the America’s Veterans Stories podcast.

Kim Monson is your host.

D-Day. June 6, 1944. In 2015 Christian Taylor went to Normandy, France for the anniversary of D-Day. Taylor was mesmerized by what she saw; WWII American jeeps, 1940s garb, Glenn Miller music, and American flags everywhere. Taylor met a young girl whose mother had made a red, white, and blue dress for her in 1944. Taylor decided to make a movie about the love story between the people of Normandy and the American GI. And she did. The Girl Who Wore Freedom.
