This thought-provoking episode with Father Andre explores the intersection of faith and modern challenges in religious doctrine. We analyze the discourse around Mariology and the profound titles bestowed upon Mary, like Co-redemptrix and Mediatrix, which have sparked debates within the Church. Engage with Father Andre and guests as they navigate these complex theological issues while emphasizing the importance of understanding, unity, and truth in the modern Christian community.
SPEAKER 01 :
In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen. At age 10, Father Andre escaped Christian massacres by living in caves in Mount Lebanon with his family. Today, Father Andre works tirelessly to encourage American leaders to keep God in the public square, defending religious freedom at home and abroad, so that all might live in peace for the glory of God. Founder and President of the Mission of Hope and Mercy, Father Andre has learned the secret to safety, joy, and peace. Love God and one another. Now, let us spend 33 minutes on the Lord’s Day, re-tuning ourselves to the truth of love in the hands of God.
SPEAKER 02 :
Praise be the most holy name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, now and always and forever and ever. Amen. Amen. In one of the most famous liturgical prayers addressed to the Virgin Mary, we pray in the Syro-Aramaic Liturgy of the Maronite Antiochian Church from the Semitic tradition of today. O beautiful lily and fragrant rose, the aroma of your holiness has filled the whole universe. Pray for us that we may become the sweet fragrance of Christ that spreads throughout the world. We offer this incense for the living, that they remain strong in faith, and for the dead, that they be granted salvation. And may we enjoy eternal happiness and praise the most holy Trinity, now and forever. Amen. My beloved brothers and sisters, we apologize first of all for one hour delay for technical reasons and of course to put our schedule together. Anytime Father Alton and myself and a few others will have to get together, we have to storm the throne of heaven. And the throne of heaven has to basically make the verdict that no, this has to happen and then it happens. God has definitely to intervene in a very direct way. Father James, I wish you a wonderful afternoon and sorry for this.
SPEAKER 04 :
Good afternoon to you too. What the people don’t know is what has just transpired over the last hour to get to this point. Nothing less than miraculous. I’ve given up hope, to be honest, and you kept praying. So there you go. I give you and God all the credit.
SPEAKER 02 :
So what is happening, Fr. James? I know, and I saw a little bit of the reactions online. We know that the Dicastero della Dottrina della Fe, the Dicastery for the Doctrine and Covenants, issued some dogmatic note about mariology can you just simply summarize the point of this new document which was issued yesterday or two days ago right so what i take on it is that once again as it has been for the last 14 years they’re undermining and attacking and allowing development of
SPEAKER 04 :
what was the doctrine we’ve always had, the doctrine from the beginning. And now Tucho Fernandez, now remember who’s the writer here is Tucho Fernandez, who is the guy who wrote the book, Heal Me With Your Mouth. And then he wrote another book where he is describing vividly a 16 year old’s vision of having sex with Jesus. That’s what a freak is. A diabolical freak is the person that Jorge Bergoglio and now Robert Prevost has put as the head of the Dicastery of the Doctrine of Faith. So now he comes out with this, oh, he says, we don’t want people to be confused. by the long known title of Mary being co-redemptress. Nevermind that since the angel Gabriel gave her that opportunity at the Annunciation and the world waited, there’s that, isn’t it at the, midnight mass where in the the world is like waiting for her hanging on the edge waiting for her fiat waiting for her to say yes i forget that what is that long it’s a long hymn that’s chanted just before the start of the midnight mass or is it the you or is it maybe i’ve got that it’s i may have that wrong it is the the easter vigil no it’s that’s the midnight pass What’s that called? My mind’s just blank now. But anyway, the point of it is, is that the world is on edge waiting. Will Mary, because she has free will, will she give her fiat to have within her the Savior of the world to assist him? And that’s all it means is you’re assisting Jesus. You assisted him. You let him be in your womb for nine months. You raised him. You fed him. You nurtured him. And yet you got Tucho Fernandez saying, well, we don’t want people to be confused. Listen, no true Catholic is confused. I’ll tell you what’s confusing is when Prevost parades in front of the world to see that entire nightmare of… You had those people dressed in orange, those monks dressed in orange, the Hare Krishnas. You had… the Buddhists, the Hindus, you had the Jews, you had the Muslims, all operating in the Vatican, right? That’s what’s confusing, because here’s the thing. You and I both know this. They started most right in our face during COVID when they locked us out of God’s churches and denied us the sacraments of grace that we need for our eternal salvation, for our eternal soul. They denied us this, right? Now, of course, that’s why they feel they can comfortably deny us other things, such as the veneration that is due Mary. let me tell you how you can understand the entire nightmare past week culminating in this document produced by tucho heal me with your mouth fernandez you know i said yesterday during a homily the only thing missing from the pictures that i’ve seen is that he’s not prancing down a pride parade in new york city in angel wings i mean that’s how bad this guy is Well, here’s the thing. What’s confusing is you throw all those people up there, including those guys in the orange robes. When it’s time for me to repent before my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, King of the universe, I’m not going to go up to one of those guys in orange and say, hey, Buddha, monk, whatever you are. Can you hear my confession? Can you give me sacramental grace? Can you absolve me of my sins? I’m not gonna go up to the Jewish rabbi. I’m not gonna go up to the Muslim Imam. I’m not gonna go up to some Buddhist or anybody else, right? No, no, no. There’s one truth and it’s the Catholic Church and Jesus Christ is the truth. What’s confusing is what they did last week in Rome. knowingly and intentionally to destroy our belief in the one holy catholic and apostolic church and they’re now they’re attacking our blessed mother they attack jesus directly in that vatican debacle that’s that scandalous that is you know it’s not even scandalous doesn’t cut it the apostasy that was exhibited last week saying oh we could learn something from this guy dressed in orange right This is what they’ve done, and now they’re attacking our Blessed Mother. How long, Father? How long before God comes and smites his enemy? I’m on the edge of my seat, because how much longer can it be before he says, I have to intervene now for the sake of the eternal souls who believe in me, to protect them from the diabolical, satanic Robert Prevost and Tucho Fernandez. So I guess if you ask me what my take on it, there it is.
SPEAKER 02 :
Father Altman, go back to try to analyze the document a little bit. I was reading one of the analysis that came earlier from Eric Sammons, I believe. Sure.
SPEAKER 04 :
He said… Crisis Magazine, Eric Sammons.
SPEAKER 02 :
Yes. He said a few points about today’s, about which is yesterday, the Doctrine of the Faith document on Marian titles. So the document is about the Marian titles. One, he states, it does not… demote Mary. That’s a stupid click bait. That was his first point. Right. Can you explain what does he mean by that? It does not demote Mary, actually. The document cannot demote Mary. It just limits the use of the two titles saying inappropriate or something to that extent. Then it says nothing in the document, at least in my first reading, is heretical. It is, in fact, acknowledges Mary’s unique role in salvation. Three, he says, It does not say either chorodemptrix or mediatrix are heretical. It uses language like not appropriate and needs a special prudence to use. Four, he says also, it’s much stronger against the title, Mediatrix of All Graces, arguing that since Mary herself received the graces at her conception, she could not be the mediator of those graces and thus not of all graces. Five, his points, he says, it’s far too worried about misunderstandings and confusions in relation to Protestants, a long time Vatican obsession. However, lots of Catholic terms like mother of God and transubstantiation can cause confusion, but that doesn’t make them inappropriate to use. Six, he says, as I understand it, Catholics are still free to use these titles in their personal devotions. But the Department of the Doctrine of Faith is just saying that the Vatican won’t be defining these titles as dogma. Seven, a future pope could reverse this decision and one day still dogmatically declare Mary as co-redemptrix. Nothing in this document precludes that. The last point he’s making, ultimately, this document is itself imprudent. as it likely causes more confusion than it eliminates. And it’s bizarre that with all the problems in the church today, the Department of the Doctrine of the Faith in the Vatican thought this was an issue of serious concern. And he concludes saying, ridiculous. So Catholics, don’t freak out. This document isn’t a big deal. It shouldn’t have been written, but it didn’t upend anything either. What do you think?
SPEAKER 04 :
So he hit it out of the park when he said the document itself is what causes confusion. Catholics weren’t confused. And I don’t give a damn if a Protestant who has schismed away from the Catholic church is confused about a thing. That’s their problem. If they saw it, they would find the one truth. So I’m done. kowtowing, catering to Protestants, Buddhists, Hindus, whatever. God Almighty and Jesus Christ, our Lord King of the Universe, told us to go out and teach Catholicism. And that’s what we do. And if somebody is confused by it, it’s their fault. It’s their problem. And I’m not going to worry about it. So shut up. to Joe Fernandez. I’ll tell you what’s confusing to Joe Fernandez is heal me with your lips to Joe Fernandez. That’s what’s confusing. The fact that we’re going to be on now, Prevost, keep him in power, creating and causing confusion. That’s who’s causing the confusion, not this concept about Mary being a mediatrix of racism. so sandwich is actually right it is bizarre that with all the things going on in the world all the concerns that we should have they take one of the 12 most powerful principal offices of holy mother church to devote this to throw more confusion amongst catholics instead of addressing the fact that they’re still covering up priests, bishops, cardinals, who raped boys, perhaps even the occasional pope, because I’ve heard that too. So why don’t you address that, Bob Prevost? Why don’t you address the continuing, ongoing, and unfixed scandal of boy rapers in the Catholic Church. When you have people like Wuerl or Mahoney still running around in a red cassock, Bob, you’re the one causing confusion. You are the satanic and diabolical influence in the church right now because the buck stops with you and you let Chucho Fernandez write this idiot document. So, yeah, it’s completely inappropriate with all the things going on that they decide, hey, I know what we can do. This has been going on since before Vatican II when they say, how can we undermine the Catholic teaching? You know, because here’s the thing. And to say, may I add this? for Tucho Fernandez to say, well, yeah, but a future Pope could reverse this. Listen, no, no, no. Truth is truth and it doesn’t change. It is unchanged and is unchangeable. Two plus two is four back when Jesus walked the earth. Two plus two is four today. I don’t think we’ve got another 2000 years, but if we did, two plus two would still be four. A Pope can’t change two plus two to five in Jesus’s day, in our day, in 2000 years from now. The truth doesn’t change. that you don’t get to say something so stupid as this. And here’s what he didn’t say, but I looked it up. I did the research as I always do. And I don’t know, maybe you don’t even know all this, but starting with Pope Pius IX, Leo XIII, Pope St. Pius X, Benedict XV, Pope Pius XI, and Pope Pius XII, they all use the language and they did it in multiple encyclicals and things that they wrote, things that they said. certainly that rise to the level of magisterial teaching. So don’t tell me the next pope or you, Bob Prevost, through your lieutenant, your diabolical lieutenant, Cucho Fernandez, can throw a monkey wrench into this, throw confusion into this, diabolically satanic. That’s what Satan is, diabolical. That means… causing confusion, right? What he just did was cause confusion. The Catholic Church, the true faithful Catholics, were not the slightest bit confused at all, right? But see, this is what they’ve done. They throw that out there and they cause confusion. And all it does is have Catholics say, oh, that’s it, final straw. I’m just out of here. Not putting up with this. I don’t know what’s true anymore. But we do know what’s true because the truth hasn’t changed for 2,000 years.
SPEAKER 02 :
You know, we’re gonna play a little video about Henry’s first reaction to how the document came out, and then we continue our conversation ahead. So Felicia, let’s play the video.
SPEAKER 03 :
Hey my friends, there is breaking news today from Leo XIV’s Vatican, which has just released a doctrinal note called Mater Populi Fidelis, Mother of the Faithful. It says that it’s not appropriate to call the Mother of Christ co-redemptrix or mediatrix of all graces. Now, this is a hugely controversial statement since these titles of Our Lady have been employed for centuries by the faithful. Even Pope John Paul II called Our Lady co-redemptrix many times. More than that, however, in 1921, Pope Benedict XV instituted November the 8th, the feast day of Our Lady Mediatrix of All Graces. And of course that was done away with with the new calendar after the Second Vatican Council, but it was nonetheless already an established feast day of the Church Our Lady Mediatrix of All Graces. On the miraculous medal, moreover, which is hugely regarded in the Church, Saint Catherine Labouré was shown Our Lady as depicted as Our Lady of Graces, with rays streaming from her fingers toward the earth. And the Mother of God said to Saint Catherine, and I quote, these rays symbolize the graces I shed upon those who ask for them, end quote. Yet the new Vatican document from Pope Leo says that our Heavenly Mother does not dispense graces. It says, and I quote, “…no human person, not even the Apostles or the Blessed Virgin, can act as a universal dispenser of grace.” So it is a sad day for Catholics around the world devoted to Our Lady. However, it is also a day to educate people on the truth that the Mother of God is absolutely the Mediatrix of all graces. And we know that because we know that all grace and truth come through Jesus Christ, as the Scripture says. And we also know that Jesus Christ came to us through Mary. For LifeSite News and Son of the Cross Media, I’m John Henry Weston, and may God bless you.
SPEAKER 02 :
Well, there is this hymn, Father James, from the Greek tradition that was written about a hundred years ago based on a vision that one of the hermits in Mount Athos in Greece received directly from the Virgin Mary. And I’ll read a little bit of it for you with a translation, of course. It’s a beautiful hymn. It says, Agni parthene despina achranti theotokei. O pure and virgin lady, O spotless Theotokos, Chere nymphy anima phte, Rejoice, O unwedded bride, Arthene mitir anasa, O virgin queen and mother, O dew-fleece most sacred, O height transcending heaven above, O beam of light most radiant, O joy of chaste and virgin mates, surpassing all the angels! Ecla Proterra Uranon Photos Katarotera O brilliant light of heaven above, most clear and most radiant! Ton Uranion Stration Passon Arioterra Commanding chief of heavenly hosts, O holiest of holies! Commanding chief of heavenly hosts, O holiest of holies! This is an amazing hymn that is written in a Greek language. Do you think, as John was commenting, by saying and somehow creating confusion around that, the Virgin Mary herself, being a beneficiary of receiving grace from Jesus Christ, cannot dispense, cannot be called the dispenser of all graces? Does that really contradict?
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah, completely. I love the miraculous medal. The rays of grace just flow forth from her. And wasn’t, I can’t remember the visionary, which saint it was that said, that’s unfortunate that… There’s all this grace and she has it in her hands, but nobody’s asking for it because we have been told differently. We have been lied to. We have been mistaught. We have been led down the broad road to destruction by evil people who can’t stand Mary in the titles that she has. I mean, if you take away that title, you can start chipping away at the other titles too. See, this is the insidious way. Incrementally, they start undermining The truth is all those crazy, those crazy Catholics, those faithful Catholics, those trads have been calling her this for some time. But there you have miraculous metal with the grace of grace flowing forth from her hands. And I said it in last night’s homily, the sermon. And I don’t have it on this desk. It’s on the upstairs desk. John Henry Cardinal Newman, the newest doctor of the church, said the exact same thing as the last six popes, because you’re quoting me. You got Pius IX, Leo XIII, Pius X, Benedict XV, who you quoted, Pius XI, Pius XII, and now JP II, Pope St. John Paul the Great. They’re all talking about the same thing. So… Who does Tucho, heal me with your mouth, Fernandez, think he is? And who does Bob Prevost think he is to give his stamp of approval? Because it all, the buck stops with Bob Prevost. So I’m sorry, you know, Bob, you just named Cardinal Newman a doctor of the church and he was fully on board with Our Lady of Graces. So don’t give me that nonsense, Bob. You are a disgrace to the Catholic Church. And just a wolf in sheep’s clothing, a viper from hell, as Jesus called them, called the hierarchy of them in their day, in his day. Same thing today. If you just saw that quote, I wish I had it before me. The quote from Cardinal St. John Henry Newman, newest doctor of the church. So you have six popes, seven popes, doctor of the church, Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, and then you got Tucho Fernandez. You got Tucho Fernandez, heal me with your mouth. Faithful Catholics everywhere around the globe. Who are you going to believe? These popes, these doctors of the churches, our miraculous medal, Are you going to believe? Tucho, heal me with your mouth, Fernandez. Listen, I make him out, I reveal him to be the satanic buffoon that he is. So that, and I say it with proper language, you know, Jesus, John the Baptist, Elka, the prophets of old, all gave such terminology applied to the false shepherds of the church. So if people don’t like it, oh, you need to show them more respect. They’re not showing respect for your eternal soul. And my job is to defend your eternal soul from the wolves and the vipers such as Tucho, heal me with your mouth, Fernandez. I wish people would just say that. Instead of saying Tucho Fernandez or Cardinal Fernandez, just start saying it, calling him what he is. Tucho, heal me with your mouth, Fernandez. And then it’s game over. Jesus said, seek and you will find. So if you don’t know what you’re talking about, if you don’t know what I’m talking about, if you don’t understand a word I said, that’s on you, buddy. You need to do your homework and come to know your faith. Because what’s our basic duty in life? To know, love and serve God. And you heard me say, you won’t serve a God you don’t love and you won’t love a God you don’t know, which means you have to come to know him. That takes effort on the individual’s part. So when I see these people complaining about me complaining about the diabolical and satanic stuff coming out of the Vatican, when I see them criticizing me, and I think to myself, you don’t even know what you’re talking about. You low information, Ignoramus. That’s a polite term. It means you’re ignorant. If you’re ignorant, you are an ignoramus. That they take offense with. Oh, everybody’s entitled to their own opinion. No, they’re not. They’re not entitled to your opinion. You’re entitled to an informed opinion. And if you’re not informed, you’re not entitled to your stupid opinion. That puts eternal souls at risk. You know, people say we’ve got freedom of speech. No, you don’t. You have freedom to speak so long as you don’t affect somebody else.
SPEAKER 02 :
I have to stop you on this word because you said a word that is very important. There is something for us as human beings that endanger our souls in their eternal salvation. You just said that. I want you to build on that a little bit more in relationship to the Virgin Mary. You know, there is an elephant in the room. There is an elephant in the room. The elephant in the room, obviously, it’s either the Virgin Mary or… the unity of the church towards the Protestant, it seems, towards evangelical, it seems, and towards the Orthodox. However, with the Orthodox, actually, they are so much on board with the Virgin Mary. They are the ones who taught us most of the terminology that we receive about the Virgin Mary as a mother of God, as the mistress of creation, the mistress of creation. Through her, the entire creation is being reborn, basically, in her faith. So for sure, she’s special. But in the context of the Protestant Catholic unity, there is an elephant in the room. It’s either the Virgin Mary and all these devotions that we have for her, or we have to risk the unity. As a matter of fact, today, one of the Protestant theologians Dr. Jordan Cooper, Dr. Jordan Cooper said, had the Vatican, had the Vatican confirmed the title co-redemptrix or mediatrix of all graces, that would have been the end of the dialogue with the Protestants. He was happy that the document from the department, from the decastero of the doctrine of the faith did not encourage the use of these two titles. Who is the elephant in the room?
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah. The elephant in the room is any moron sitting in a miter that thinks, who cares if it offends the Protestants? You know, this is straight out of Bognini in Vatican II, when they said, we must not offend anybody by preaching the truth. We don’t want to offend our Protestants. I don’t care if they’re offended. Why should I care? My job is to tell them the truth. And they can accept it or reject it. John chapter 6. Did Jesus say, well, I better not, I better be careful here. I don’t want to offend the Jews when I talk about my body, blood, soul, and divinity. If that, oh, we’re worried about our blessed mother. If we can’t talk about our blessed mother, how about talk about the Holy Eucharist? If you want to offend a Protestant, talk about the body, blood, soul, and divinity, the real presence of Jesus Christ, King of the universe and the Holy Eucharist. So it is utter and complete diabolical nonsense. to worry about, oh, it’s gonna offend some Protestant. I couldn’t care less. They offend me with their stupid claiming to be Christians when they do not follow Jesus Christ, King of the universe. They don’t follow him, they pick and choose what they like and throw away what they don’t. I am not the least bit concerned or worried about offending a Protestant. It’s about high time we spoke up, as we did until Vatican II. For the first 1,965 years, we told the Protestants the truth, and if they didn’t like it, well, then they can just go, right? Look at John chapter 6. Jesus didn’t change the message, and everybody left. Did Jesus say, oh, I’ve got to worry about offending the Jews? Heck no. He didn’t. He let them walk away. So that is the lesson. That’s how Jesus taught us to teach that. Right.
SPEAKER 02 :
So, yeah, I want to clarify something. So our people understand Father Altman and myself and the church and all pastors, all priests. We do care for all Christians. We do care for the Protestants. But he’s saying we don’t care for the Protestant, probably ideologies. Father, would you clarify? We’re talking about schools of theology. We’re not talking about the normal human being who is validly baptized, properly baptized as a Protestant, as evangelical, committed really to God and to Christ, to the Bible, to the form of liturgy in which they are found. How does the Virgin Mary can be a bridge between us and them instead of being a point of division? We do care because she is. She is there as their mother.
SPEAKER 04 :
What we care about is preaching the truth. And so I preach the truth because if I actually love a Protestant, then I will teach them the truth. and then let them figure it out. That’s all we’re supposed to do. We’re not here to convince anybody. We’re here to plant the seeds of the truth. If I love somebody, I’m gonna tell them the truth. If I love a child, I’m gonna say, don’t go play in the busy road, you’re gonna get hit by a car. Remember that story from Penn Jillette who said, I have no respect for any Christian who doesn’t try to proselytize me. If they actually believe that I’m gonna burn in hell for eternity, if i don’t change my ways and they don’t tell me that how much the question he said is how much did they have to hate me so see they flip the language around like that like satan does how much would i have to hate a protestant to not tell them the truth about our blessed mother and about the holy eucharist and if they don’t want to if they don’t I don’t care if they don’t believe it, then that’s their problem. That’s all on them. I’ve done my job. It’s Ezekiel chapter 33, right? I’ve told them. I cared about them enough to tell them the truth. So there shouldn’t be any, because people jump on, oh, you don’t care about the process. Yes, I do. If I didn’t care about them, I wouldn’t be trying to tell them the truth. Do you see? If I didn’t care about them, I wouldn’t be trying to tell them the truth. I wouldn’t waste my breath. I’m gonna tell them once though, Jesus said, tell them once. If they accept it, great. They don’t accept to go outside the town and shake the dust and condemnation of them. So, so there’s confusion there, but it’s been flipped upside down by saying, well, if we care about them, we’ll, we can’t, we can’t tell them the truth. We can’t, we can’t offend them. Oh gosh, we can’t talk about our blessed mother as queen of heaven and earth. You know that she, you know, this father, you know this well, I think it’s the, it’s in the, the last part of Kings chapter one, first part of Kings chapter two, when, when David dies, right? Before David dies, Bathsheba has to come in and give homage to the king, right? Because she’s the wife. She’s the queen. The queen has to give homage to the king. Suddenly, the very next chapter, the start of the very next chapter, I think it might be 2 Kings. I could be wrong. But the very next chapter in the next book, now David has died. Bathsheba is now the queen mother, the mother of the king, King Solomon. And when she comes in, Solomon has to get up off his throne and bow down before his mother, who is the queen mother. And the queen mother gets to hand him a list of, you know, she goes out amongst the people and she gets prayer requests, so to speak. She gets requests from the people. She hands them to her son, the king and interceding for the people. And the king has to do it right. We saw this at the wedding feast of Canaan. The king had to listen to his mother and fix the wine issue. So this is totally based, totally founded in the sacred tradition of sacred scripture. the fact that our mother is queen she is the queen mother of jesus christ king of the universe and we can go to her for and ask for her intercession with her son the king that is totally sacred scripture that is gospel scripture and if the protestants don’t like it if the muslims and buddhists don’t like it i don’t care that they don’t like it i’m still going to preach the truth and if they’re offended by it that’s on them you see there’s a difference here it’s not that i don’t care about them it’s not about i care about them so much that i’m going to tell them the truth
