For years Democrats have advocated for people to wear masks to protect their privacy. Now, when ICE agents do it, the left is up-in-arms! The double standard is unreal! Plus, Elon Musk is continuing to criticize President Trump’s Spending Bill. Is the world’s richest man cutting ties with Trump? Or is this just a disagreement between friends?

Here’s the latest outrage from the Trump-hating universe. Trump has announced a full travel ban for multiple countries in the aftermath of the Boulder, Colorado attack. And yet, of course they’re going to go crazy over that. They went crazy over it when he did it the first time during his first term. But you know what’s crazier? Is watching the sympathy for a terrorist’s family. Honest to gosh, I’m at a point right now where I ask people that I know, people that I like, people who don’t identify with my politics. I have friends who are registered Democrats, and I just am mystified. I am completely perplexed at how today’s Democrats and leftists and progressives and liberals continually gravitate to evil and to bad and to wrong-headed thinking. Did you see USA Today? USA Today, in covering the news, Trump wants to deport the illegal immigrant family of the terror suspect, Mohammed Salaman. Now, honest to gosh, is there anybody within the sound of my voice who thinks that’s a bad idea? You don’t think they knew what he was all about? He was plotting this for a year. He was an Uber driver. He couldn’t get a gun, so he resorted to Molotov cocktails, and he lit Jews on fire while yelling, Free Palestine! And his family, he’s got a wife and daughters and kids, I guess. The federal government wants to kick him out. You’re not here legally. He wasn’t legal. He was on an expired visa. He broke the law. They’re here illegally. Keep them together. Send them back to Egypt together. The left is upset about that. They’re actually defending… The terrorist’s family. And honest to gosh, I don’t have the words here. Do you? Here was the headline at USA Today. They posted this proudly on social media. Boulder suspect’s daughter dreamed of studying medicine. Now she faces deportation. Oh no, we don’t want that. We don’t want her to, I mean, do they have any medical schools in Egypt? Or is it just one giant desert over there? Why does the left always defend evil? I saw an article this morning about a guy, a guy wrote a piece defending the prosecution of Luigi. You know why he has to write that column? Because the left is defending the assassination of the UnitedHealthcare CEO. This coward apparently pumping bullets into the back of this husband and father because he’s mad at the healthcare industry? And they made a hero out of this guy. Can you please tell me once and for all why the left continually defends evil? I refuse to accept that every Democrat is evil. But all of this stuff continues to just be one… It’s a one-way street. You don’t hear Republicans defending Luigi Mangione. You don’t hear Republicans supporting the family of a terrorist. You don’t hear any of this crap from our side. Do they do it just to counter us? Do they do it just to oppose us? Give me some clarity here on a Thursday. We’re in the Relief Factor studios. A lot of breaking news, and I’m so glad to be with you today, feeling great about a lot of stuff. A lot of good news, a lot of challenges. Elon Musk comes to mind, but lets you and I tackle this stuff together. 800-655-MIKE. Give me your best shot at why we continually see this pattern of Democrats. Going over to the dark side. It’s the craziest thing I’ve ever seen in my life. 800-655-MIKE. PhD weight loss has changed my life. And I’ve got a little secret for you. You know Big Pharma and semaglutide and the shots in the belly. You’ve seen the story recently about the study that shows that a lot of people that are getting this are going blind. This administration has done more to combat that violence than any administration in history. And one incident is one too many. And I think, frankly, that’s something the previous administration was not willing to say. This president will stand up for Americans of all religions, of all faiths, of all creeds. And we will continue to look at policy measures and actions that we can take in addition to the actions that have already been taken to curb this anti-Semitic violence.

SPEAKER 04 :
A lot of good feedback on the MyPillow text line over my exchange with Stephen the Progressive from Columbus, Ohio. And again, I like that kind of exchange. I appreciate a guy like Stephen willing to talk and listen and present his point of view. And I just think so much is based on a lack of faith. And the next time Stephen and I have a chance to talk, and I hope he will call me back, I am going to ask him not to put him on the spot. I don’t want to embarrass him, but I’d like to know. what his level of faith is. Does he go to church? I mean, it’s none of my business. Maybe he won’t want to share it with it. Bob in Chicago writes, Mike, you are right on with your summary that many progressives have a lack of faith. I have a close friend who I argue with constantly regarding conservatism and Trump. He’s a lifelong Catholic, but he doesn’t take the Bible literally, i.e., a lack of faith. Another text message, and… I so appreciate conversations that I wish I could respond to everybody who texts me. Some of our hosts who use the MyPillow text line around the country respond a lot, and I just can’t do that. I’m not that smart. It’s hard. I’ve got more screens here. You ought to see this. Jeff Reisman, one of the big executives from Salem, was visiting the other day, and he walked into the studio. He said, holy cow, how do you keep track? I wish you could see. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. I’ve got eight monitors all around me. You’ve got to see when we go on the road what a fiasco that is. And thankfully, I’ve got the best team in the business led by The Rock, The Iron Man, Eric Hansen. And our hearts are with Eric and his wife Gina and their kids today. Sadly, Eric discovered his mother-in-law had passed away. And Eric… I actually found her yesterday in New Jersey, and my heart breaks for him and for Gina, although I know that Gina’s mom had a wonderful, long life. But it always makes me sad, of course, when somebody passes, and it makes me sadder when somebody passes away alone. We always think that, don’t we? We kind of wonder, will we be with our loved ones? one of the biggest blessings of my life was one of my most agonizing moments, but was to have my wife die in my arms. And I got to hold her as she passed away. And I was ready for it. The hospice nurse, the angel, that wonderful lady, was talking me through what’s going to happen physically and what this is going to look like and be ready and this is what’s going to happen. I don’t mean to be morbid, but it was a beautiful, beautiful moment. And my son Matthew was there. The other kids, they just couldn’t bear to be in the room and watch their 51-year-old mother pass away. And I don’t blame them. I wouldn’t hold that against them at all. But Matthew was there, and I was there, and I got to hold her and tell her how much I loved her. and how you’ve got to look out after us now because it was just that moment. So anyway, I’m sad for Eric and his family, and I know that Gina’s mom is right now joyfully celebrating eternal life. And we have that faith. We lean into that faith where we know if our spouse passes before us, we know we’re confident where they are and what they believe. And I never want to lose that sense of appreciation for faith and for spirituality and compassion. One of the challenges I have is when I have a progressive friend who says, you guys are mean. I don’t want to be mean. I don’t want to be cruel. And that brings me to a text I got from Ohio, from Columbus. Mike, I completely support deporting the terrorist’s family because they’re here illegally. There’s no lawful basis for them being here. That being said, I cannot agree with the absolute position you appear to be taking about how his family must have known what he was planning. Bernie Madoff ran the largest Ponzi scheme in history. He ran it for decades. I know to a moral certainty that his sons, who saw him daily, who worked in his company, had no idea what their father was doing. Well, there is a debate about that. To be honest with you, there’s a great debate about what Ruth and the sons knew or didn’t know. I’d like to believe they had no idea. But, you know, you say you know with a moral certainty. No, you don’t. You’re not a member of their family. You don’t know what they did know. But you bring up a great point, Columbus. Are the sons bound by the crimes of the father? And Columbus writes, I have great faith in you and your morality and your Christianity. I’m proud to be a listener of yours and will remain one because I know that people of faith can disagree and still believe. The legal basis, even the moral basis for deporting the family is solid, but I can’t stand by with the idea that the children had to know what their father was up to. Acts of the fathers, even the wives, mothers, and sisters shouldn’t, bind the family together that way. Well, the bottom line is what you’re missing is, unlike the Madoff family, this is a family that is here illegally. And it’s almost a side note whether or not the family had knowledge. Look, I’ll stipulate, maybe they didn’t. Maybe they didn’t know what their father was planning. But what do you think the family thinks of Jews and Christians? If this is a radical Islamist family, do you think the wife and children have a different ideology and perspective from their dad? Now, to your point, maybe. But it’s almost irrelevant. Because, again, they are here illegally. Here’s President Trump announcing… Excuse me, wrong cut. Here’s Scott Jennings, rather, from CNN, talking last night about the deportation of the family of Mohammed Soleiman.
SPEAKER 07 :
And obviously in the household, you have extreme radicalism. And that has now led to the literal burning of American citizens on the streets of this country and a clear act of domestic terrorism. And so, again, we have an individual district court judge stepping in here to try to prevent the commander in chief of the United States from protecting Americans from a clear invasion of radicalism.
SPEAKER 04 :
Is he wrong? Now, obviously, Columbus disagrees with Scott Jennings because Columbus would argue you don’t necessarily have radicalism in the home. Well, you did have radicalism in the home. Maybe the family wasn’t in on it. Maybe they were. But that ship has sailed. Their husband, their father commits the brutal act. Can you imagine what would be happening in the media cycle today? If some MAGA Republican burned black people alive, can you imagine if a Christian nationalist, as they love to call so many, assaulted and tried to kill and committed horrible acts of violence against a Muslim family. The shoe was on the other foot. Oh, my gosh. There’d be panels. There’d be investigations. There’d be media coverage around the clock. Let’s be real here. With today’s media and today’s left, it’s a one- or two-day story, maybe a week at most, and they’ll move on. I mean, look, if they wind up convicting this guy, if he gets deported, although I don’t think he needs to be deported, I think he needs to rot in one of our jail cells for the rest of his life, if not put to death himself if any of the victims die, and one of them could very well pass away, could die. But if they deported the terrorist, as Minnesota just texted me, and not the family? The Dems would be screaming Trump is splitting up families. It’s always something with them. How right you are. One open line, 800-655-MIKE. Do you disagree with deporting the family of Mohammed Soleiman? Do you believe? Do you believe that the family? Look at USA Today. Oh, the suspect’s daughter dreamed of studying medicine. Now she faces deportation. those elderly Jews dreamed of not being burned alive in a park in Boulder, Colorado. But that’s today’s media. Give me your take. 800-655-MIKE. Bottom line is, all bets are off. If you’re a terrorist and your family is here illegally, do you honestly think they shouldn’t be deported? 800-655-6453. SPEAKER 04 :
I know we spent a lot of time yesterday on this weird pivot by Elon Musk, and I don’t want to spend all day on it today. But I want to reiterate how I feel about it, because I have great respect for Elon Musk, and I think most Americans appreciate the personal sacrifice that he exhibited to try to help make our country more efficient. His time in the government has passed. Now he’s going back into the private sector. Doge efforts are going to continue. But for some reason, Elon Musk believes that Trump’s legacy bill, his signature legislative achievement, needs to be torpedoed. Musk is full out claiming that the bill needs to be killed. And, of course, you’d probably pretty much obliterate the Trump agenda if the bill fails. The bill cannot fail. Elon’s saying things like, no one who can read the bill can stomach it. It’s abomination. Incidentally, interesting timing, Elon. You’re doing all this now? Now’s the time you decide to go scorched earth? And I want to share with you what Stephen Miller wrote. Stephen Miller is a guy that the left and the Trump haters despise because he’s so effective, he’s so smart, and he’s one of Trump’s trusted advisors. He posted on X, I was on the campaign trail with President Trump all across America. He promised in every rally to pass the tax cuts, fully secure the border, deport the illegals, dismantle the criminal gangs, unleash American energy, build the missile defense shield, reshore our manufacturing base, and enact no tax on tips, overtime, Social Security. To thunder his applause in speech after speech. He won in a landslide. He overcame 10 years of lawfare, witch hunts, persecutions, and two near assassinations to deliver on this extraordinary agenda. The House has passed a bill to codify each and every one of these promises, which is why the House should be loudly and enthusiastically celebrated for keeping our sacred vows to the American people. And then he takes a little bit of a pot shot at Rand Paul. He writes, the Libertarian candidate who ran on the Rand platform, he’s talking about Rand Paul, right, got one half of one percent of the national vote. This isn’t hard, Stephen Miller writes. The only choice is to keep our promises to the American people. Charlie Kirk posted 50, 50 things in the bill that will… confirm the mandate that Trump got. You should check it out. Follow me on X at Gallagher Show. Two things can be true at once. We can be appreciative of Elon Musk and we can be disappointed. And I am absolutely disappointed that he’s trying to torpedo the bill. Look, the argument that spending is out of control is correct. I get it. I’m not pushing back on that. But the argument that nobody was clamoring for reduced deficit spending at a MAGA rally is correct, too. Hate to break it to you, but deficit spending never came up at any of Trump’s rallies. Trump didn’t benefit from a promise to restore deficit spending. I mean, that wasn’t a MAGA platform. All the things that Stephen Miller lists, those are the promises. And those will be fulfilled if the big, beautiful bill is passed. And what Elon Musk must realize is none of it comes to fruition if the bill is killed. Charlie wrote 50 major wins. I may read them all to you. You can go ahead and follow me on X at Gallagher Show because I reposted it last night. But there are 50, 5-0, 50 major victories from Trump’s big, beautiful bill that the Trump critics, including now evidently Elon, are ignoring. And we just can’t let it happen. Now, I urge you to jump on board and join me. 800-655-MIKE. Welcome aboard Thursday. I’m so, so glad to be with you on a busy, busy day. I don’t know why Elon is opposing why he’s doing what he’s doing. There is a big part of me that thinks that this is part of a strategy, a plan. The Wall Street Journal is reporting sources who say that Trump is angry. And Brian Kilmeade is off on Fox News saying, oh, Trump’s furious. If Trump is furious, I have a hunch he knows how to let us know. If Trump was really upset with Elon, I think he would call Elon out publicly. And he is not. Now they’re going crazy because he has been off the radar, off the grid, so to speak, for the last 24 hours or so. I believe that’s a tell. I think that’s a giveaway that maybe this is all part of a multi… But I could be wrong. Maybe Elon just went rogue and kind of went bonkers and went off the reservation and decided to make the deficit the centerpiece of everything about the bill. Well, how about 50, not 15, not 5, 50 major wins from the big, beautiful bill? The Charlie Kirk, the great Charlie Kirk posted on social media last night. I’ll read them all to you coming up here in just a moment.

I want the president to get his agenda. And the agenda, the core part of this and the thing that is not negotiable is the extension and making permanent the tax cuts, investment in border security, energy deregulation, the biggest welfare reform in recent history. I mean, these are non-negotiable, I think, to the president because it’s what he ran on.
SPEAKER 03 :
In the ReliefFactor.com studios, here’s Mike.
SPEAKER 04 :
So here’s that breaking news. It isn’t that big a shock. The Supreme Court ended Mexico’s lawsuit. I can’t even read this story. I’m going to ask our newsman, Roger P. Shulman. Have you ever just cracked up when you’re trying to do a newscast because the story is so absurd? The Supreme Court ended Mexico’s lawsuit against U.S. gun manufacturers ruling moments ago that Mexico cannot legally sue our firearm companies, and dealing a blow to gun control advocates who argued that the lawsuit was necessary to hold manufacturers accountable for gun violence. That’s right, it’s the gun manufacturers’ fault. that somebody uses a gun to hurt somebody else. So the U.S. gun manufacturers just got a big break from the United States Supreme Court. Incidentally, it was unanimous. Color me shocked. Even Sonia Sotomayor and Katonji Brown-Jackson thought the lawsuit was ridiculous. You’ve got to give them credit for some chutzpah, don’t you? Well, that takes some gall. You’re Mexico and you’re going to sue the United States after letting millions of illegals pour across our border and many, many, many, many crimes being committed against residents and citizens of the United States. from illegal immigrants, you want to sue the gun manufacturers in America. So that’s the big breaking news. We also have some big breaking news. Trump issuing a multi-country travel ban. The left is flipping out about that. I have to admit, I’m flipping out a little bit over our Angel Tree campaign because we’re continuing our Angel Tree camp campaign. And we have absolutely stalled out. Now, the good news is we’ve gone over our goal. And I know you. You’re figuring, well, Gallagher got over the goal. The goal was 455 kids. And I do appreciate that. And I don’t want to be greedy, but on the other hand, I want to be greedy on behalf of these beautiful children who have a mom or dad in prison because we’re going to send a bunch of kids to summer camp. Not only are they going to be outside with fresh air and fun and canoeing and all the fun stuff of summer camp. I used to go to summer camp when I was a little boy. It was some happy memories. I remember canoeing and horseback riding and terrified of horses. Gosh, it took me everything to get up on that beast. I loved it. And for a child to get to be a child for a week, and these are Christian summer camps. So do you realize the transformation you can be a part of? Do you understand that you’re going to likely save souls? You’re going to not only help these children now to help them make better choices than their parents perhaps made, but you’re going to save their soul because many of these kids find the Lord. Many of these kids discover the beauty and joy of faith and redemption and forgiveness and God and the Bible. Yes, they actually learn the gospel. So the cost to bless one child with one week of summer camp is only $200. Look, if you’ve ever sent your kid off to summer camp, I’ll bet you spent more than that. But Prison Fellowship, this beautiful ministry, can send a child to a summer camp for a week. For $200. Please go to my website, mikeonline.com. Right now, the banner says 572 kids sponsored. Yes, that’s over our goal. But it’s also way short of what we accomplished last June. Last year, 1,100. So I don’t know if we can get close to 1,100 kids. But my prayer today is that your heart will be touched, and maybe we can get enough donations to get us today to maybe 600. We’re at 572 kids who will be going to summer camp. You’re going to get these kids out of bad neighborhoods, away from gangs and drugs. You’re going to whisk them into the fresh air and Christian fellowship they desperately need. This is like you’re giving faith to a soul that is parched. You’re blessing these children. So whatever you can afford. If you can sponsor a kid for $200. I mean, Tracy got a call the other day from a guy who said, I don’t want to do $200. I want to do $1,000. That’s five kids. But your donation in any amount will make a huge difference. Please go to MikeOnline.com. Thanks for indulging me too, by the way, for a few weeks. Every start of Memorial Day and into the summer we do this for Prison Fellowship because I just love this ministry. And I’m grateful for the generosity of this audience. There’s nobody like you. I don’t deserve you. But these kids deserve you. These kids deserve your heart, your generosity, and your love. Please go to MikeOnline.com. Click on that Angel Tree banner at the top of the page. And you’ll see the counter go up. Give it about two or three minutes to populate. But it takes a couple minutes. But it’s fun to watch that counter go up. And right now it says 572. Let’s see if we can hit 600 today. Thank you for your support. Thank you for blessing these kids. Thank you for participating in the Mike Gallagher Show Angel Tree Campaign. MikeOnline.com, MikeOnline.com. All right, let’s go to the newsroom where our Roger P. Shulman is patiently standing by because Roger is covering this bizarre. And look, Roger’s one of us. He’s an objective newsman. He’s good at it. He knows what he’s doing. He’s one of the best newsmen in America. That’s why we hired him to be the Mike Gallagher Show newsman, which I think is a badge he wears with great honor. But, Roger, give us the update, the latest. The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Trump is secretly fuming about Elon. What’s the latest on this sort of weird pivot or reversal, if you will, that Elon Musk has come up with?
SPEAKER 08 :
Well, Musk has long been frustrated with the tax bill because it removes a lot of the incentives to buy electric vehicles. And as you know, the Tesla company, his car company, is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of electric vehicles. So that’s going to hurt him. He also is the founder of SpaceX and wanted one of his friends, Jared Isaacman, to become the head of NASA. That would have helped him out, too. However… The administration nixed that nomination because Isakson made a lot of donations to Democrats in the past, and they didn’t think his ideological purity was good enough. So those are a couple of things that might have fueled Musk’s sudden turnaround and wanting to sabotage this big bill. I heard you reading all the wonderful things that are in that thing. I was ready to call my senator, but he’s already on the side of the big bill. Rick Scott, he’s totally for Trump and the bill, and he’s working hard. So those are the only two things I can think of that would get Musk upset unless Musk is having some sort of odd reaction to being out of government now. I don’t know. It doesn’t make sense. But then again, these two guys are billionaires. They’re smarter than all of us. So maybe they’ve got something up their sleeve that I don’t know about.
SPEAKER 04 :
Do you think that my theory and I hate to take you out of your your newsman space, but I got to ask you, do you think it’s possible? that this is all part of a strategic effort to do the good cop, bad cop routine. And, you know, look, not for nothing, I’m pretty good at some of this stuff. I reminded Mark Davis, do you realize that for a year leading up to the election, when Joe Biden was supposedly running for re-election, I kept telling Mark and I kept telling this audience, I guarantee you Biden won’t be on the ticket. I guarantee you he will not be on the ticket. And Mark, you remember me saying that? And Mark Davis would say to me, and Mark would say, oh, come on. How are they going to possibly push him off the ticket? What do you think, he’s going to resign? What do you mean? He’s not going to step aside. Mark argued with me every day that I’d say it. He’d roll his eyes. He’d say there’s no way that can happen. Who was right? Gallagher was right. Who nailed it? I was correct. So I’ve got some pretty, and I hate to brag on myself. I don’t like patting myself on the back, but when I’m right, I’m right. And I’ve just got a hunch.
SPEAKER 08 :
You are right. You’re absolutely right on that. I think there’s something going on here between these two billionaires that is in the rarefied ether of people of that nature that we just don’t know about yet. I think there’s something going on here. And it doesn’t make sense at this point, but it may make sense six months from now.
SPEAKER 04 :
Do you think, have you ever heard of Trump being frustrated or angry with somebody that he didn’t immediately call them out? He does it. He’s got the phone with him all the time. I mean, but he hadn’t said a word about Elon, has he?
SPEAKER 08 :
He erupts like Vesuvius when somebody says something he really doesn’t like. And he hasn’t erupted at all. It’s been radio silence from him. So I don’t know what’s going on there. It’s bizarre. We live in interesting times.
SPEAKER 04 :
We do. May you live in interesting times. Thanks, Roger. Roger P. Shulman, Mike Gallagher Show Newsroom. Checking in from the newsroom. I want to continue with this list as well from Charlie. And in the meantime, feel free to join us because this is wild. Maybe we should have seen it coming. I didn’t. I really didn’t. I knew that these were two strong-willed, colorful personalities. It’s not a comfortable place to be to watch Trump and Musk be at such loggerheads, but they really, in a way or not. Look, again, not to pat myself on the back, my instincts are generally pretty good. Something, there’s more to this than meets the eye. What’s the truth? behind Elon’s opposition. Let’s get a bunch of calls in here. Flood my phone lines with your theories as to what’s going on. And we appreciate Teresa coming in today on a scheduled day off to help cover because of a last-minute sad bit of news that our rock, our iron man, the guy who makes it all happen, Eric Hansen, who’s been with me for, gosh, over 25 years, And Eric sadly discovered his mother-in-law yesterday in her home. She had passed away. Poor guy just gave her CPR. It was just tough. And she had a wonderful, long, happy life. Gina’s mother, 90 years old. And so she’s gone to be with the Lord. Eric is right now with his family, of course, and I might shoot up to the New York, New Jersey area this weekend. I’m going to try to go to the funeral. I am so blessed to have a guy like Eric Hansen by my side for all these years, and he means more to me than I could ever convey in words. And so we are praying for God’s comfort and healing during a tough time for Gina and and Eric, of course, and their beautiful daughters and the entire family. May she rest in peace. And many thanks to Dan Ginsberg, who came in at the very last minute to cover for Eric and Teresa. We’ve got a big team, and when the… When the king, I mean, you think I’m King Tut. The real big daddy around here, the real mac daddy is Eric Hansen. He’s one in a million. And so we’re saddened for him and for his loss and, of course, for his wife’s mother passing away. 800-655-MIKE. So let’s go to it. Let’s flood my phone lines over what you think is behind Elon’s opposition. Is he just suddenly facing a crisis of confidence? All the praise that he gave Trump up till now, now it goes out the window. What do you think is behind it? I believe that maybe Trump and Elon have a plan. If you think I’m crazy, that’s okay. Have at me. 800-655-MIKE. We actually have two open lines right now, so good chance for you to jump on board because I want you to flood the zone, and let’s take a bunch of calls on this. 800-655-6453. There’s also another big breaking news from the Supreme Court, and this is good news for people of faith. It turns out that according to the Supreme Court, with the state of Wisconsin unconstitutionally discriminated against a Christian charity. I’ll give you the details on that in just a moment as well. So more good news from the court, from the high court.
SPEAKER 05 :
Familiar song, but, but.
SPEAKER 04 :
I know why you did this.
SPEAKER 05 :
Of course, the famous version of that, Harry Nilsson. That’s the better version.
SPEAKER 04 :
That’s the better, way better version.
SPEAKER 05 :
I feel for people who actually write songs, and then somebody comes along and just does this stellar job, and you go back to the original. That’s Badfinger, a band I love, and obviously sings very well on stuff like Day After Day and Baby Blue. But Tom Evans of Badfinger wrote without you, so he cashed some checks from Harry Nielsen. Tom Evans would have been 78 today. And here you are. Here’s my buddy, Hi.
SPEAKER 04 :
Hi. You want a great album? Nielsen, Schmielsen. Oh, no doubt. One of my favorite albums.
SPEAKER 05 :
You know what else is on there? I bet we can do it together. Ready? Party, party, coconut, party, coconut. I know.
SPEAKER 04 :
But he, what a singular talent he was. And jump into the fire.
SPEAKER 05 :
You know who he was just besties, besties, besties with? John Lennon. Who?
SPEAKER 04 :
Really?
SPEAKER 05 :
Oh, my, yes. Wow. They were hanging together a lot.
SPEAKER 04 :
All right, we’ve got a lot to unpack today. We’ve got tons of stuff on Thursday. Let me share with you something I’ve been wanting to get off my chest. I keep forgetting to bring it up. I’m poking into the Jake Tapper book. Now, I didn’t buy it. I got it from a friend. Didn’t pay a dime for it. You’re going to buy the Karine Jean-Pierre book, too, you traitor? Right. Well, I’ve got to read her book. I know. I’ve got to do. I’ve got to see what an imbecile’s book looks like. Isn’t that funny now that Democrats have discovered she’s an idiot? I know. It should come in the form of a binder. Shouldn’t you just open up a big three-ring binder and read that book? Yeah. With lots of notes. But anyway, so I’m reading the Biden book and there was a reference there to the whole premise is the original sin is that he should have never, you know, committed to run again. He should have stepped down when he could have. And there was a line, a little passage that said no one really thought that he would get shoved aside during the year leading up to the reelection. Now, I kept saying that. Well, wait a minute. When I would say that, can we remember, and your audience should call you out for this too. You know what? I kept saying it. You kept saying, how’s that going to happen, Mike? How can that possibly? That’s right. I was right all along. You absolutely were.
SPEAKER 05 :
And I never get credit for it. So I’m giving myself credit for it, darn it. And again, this was, when might this have been? About a springtime, maybe? Yeah, it would have been spring, March, all through the year. And you said he’s not going to be on the ballot. He’s not going to be on the ballot. I was enormously skeptical. I said, describe to me how it’s not going to be 25th Amendment. I totally knew that was impossible. Right. And the other thing would involve Joe Biden looking into the camera and saying, I’m just not going to run, which I did not foresee. Most people didn’t. But you, Nostradamus, you did.
SPEAKER 04 :
I’m not a guy that toots his own horn too much, but I will say, especially when the book said, well, now nobody thought that he would get pushed aside all through the year. Yeah, I did. I was going to say, me, me, me. Please pay attention. All right. Look, I don’t know what to do. This Elon Musk thing is now, the Wall Street Journal is reporting that Trump is pretty furious with him. I kind of don’t believe that because I wonder why. But not publicly.
SPEAKER 05 :
When he’s furious, don’t you kind of know about it immediately? Right away.
SPEAKER 04 :
Right away. You think he’s circumspect? You think he’s not going to hold back? I mean, what would the benefit be for him to, and they are having a field day with President Trump’s silence on this matter. And that’s what makes this very confusing. What do you think his silence means? I’m telling you, I got a hunch that it’s all a ruse, that there’s kind of a game plan here. Good cop, bad cop. Trump wants lower spending. He wants to reduce the deficit. He knows it’s a yeoman’s task to do that. He’s got to figure out a way to do it. Elon was leaving anyway because he’s got to go back and take care of Tesla. Right. That’s a publicly held company. It’s tanking and he’s got to fix it. Which, by the way, now that he’s doing this with Trump, it’s getting even worse for him with Tesla. Have you noticed that? Their stock is plummeting. So that’s not working. But it’s almost like, I mean, would it surprise you if we learned one day that Trump and Elon hatched this plan? Would that surprise you? Not in the lead. Right? I mean, that’s what I’m thinking. I don’t know how else to describe it.
SPEAKER 05 :
There’s one other possibility. And I was going to say, it wouldn’t surprise me to learn that, but it doesn’t mean that I subscribe fully to it. And I don’t know if you’re asserting that you know it. It’s just a good, healthy suspicion. And that is that Elon’s just being Elon. He is a business purist feeling like he should be able to write a memo, call a meeting, and change everything in 48 hours like he can at his companies. Government doesn’t work that way. Trump and Mike Johnson, to a degree, even though Johnson’s out there saying my friend Elon is totally mistaken about this bill, they are tolerant. They’re maybe thinking, you know, this is going to satisfy a certain part of the conservative base that did want a better, big, beautiful bill that does want more of the doge cuts to show up right here, right now. And maybe it just shows that at least that voice exists in the Trump sphere. It’s not a bad thing. And if it results in some pressure that gives us a better, big, beautiful bill, so much the better.
SPEAKER 04 :
And I have faith and I trust that they’re going to make it a better bill. I accept that it’s not going to be as great as Ron Johnson wants it to be. But will it be enough for them to vote against it? I don’t know. I hope not.
SPEAKER 05 :
We’ve got to pass that. And I feel every time you say And you and I are saying it. Pass this thing. Warts and all, pass it. It’s better to pass it than to have it crash and burn for the overall Trump agenda, for the midterms. We’ve got to pass it. But yet Elon is saying kill the bill. I know. And do you feel that when we say that, though, we can almost hear some listeners saying – Mike, Mark, talk show boys, that’s what everybody’s told us forever. Just be patient. The real results are coming down the road. And by the way, people have said that, and they have lied. But if there is one presidency that is going to deliver and deserves patience and benefit of the doubt, it’s this presidency.
SPEAKER 04 :
I mean, look, there’s no reason now to start thinking that we should doubt him. I trust people like Byron York. Byron wrote, the big beautiful bill is the embodiment of Trump one and two. It would make permanent the top legislative achievement of his first term, the tax cuts. It fulfills the premier unkept promise of the first campaign, a border wall, an actual border wall. Now make no mistake, the whole border wall gets funded. It’s like 800 miles. It would make good on promises from the second campaign, no tax on tips. It’s one long expression of Trump’s priorities, which makes it extraordinary that Elon, at this late moment, and that’s the other problem here. Mark, why does he wait until now? But Elon Musk is doing everything he can to kill it. Trump gave Musk influence and opportunities that even with all his wealth, Musk would never have otherwise had. And now Musk is doing this. You can agree, writes Byron York, a smart guy. You can agree with the fiscal principles Elon says he is upholding. Although precisely what he would do is not clear. But it’s hard to imagine Trump and those around him are anything less than furious about Musk’s continuing attacks. If they are, it’s that Musk is just a loose cannon. Which he might be.
SPEAKER 05 :
I mean, part of his genius might be he’s a loose ball in a pinball machine just following his own gravity.
SPEAKER 04 :
Well, you know, I know you’ve got a soft spot for Jessica Tarloff. I turned on The Five yesterday. At least they’re finally covering the Musk thing.
SPEAKER 05 :
I finally got to it.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah, Laura Trump’s not on the set, so maybe that’s why I figured it was okay to do it.
SPEAKER 05 :
Her veto power was not in effect.
SPEAKER 04 :
But watching her absolutely eviscerate law enforcement and mock them and assault them.
SPEAKER 05 :
Oh, I was going to say, why did I miss The Five yesterday? Duh, I was doing the Hugh Hewitt show. So what did she do?
SPEAKER 04 :
The Democrats are now in a lather over masked ICE agents.
SPEAKER 05 :
And now Jeffrey’s talking about doxing, actually doxing ICE agents.
SPEAKER 04 :
They’re calling for ICE agents to get rid of the masks and have their identities released so that they can be harassed and assaulted and tortured by these lunatics. The activists who have no problem, whether it’s putting bullets in the back of the UnitedHealthcare CEO or swatting or doxing or all the crap that they do, they want to make these law enforcement agents’ lives hell. And there’s Jessica. She dove right into that yesterday and she said, they should be humiliated over what they’re doing. They should be embarrassed. They’re rounding up 17-year-olds who are on their way to class and blah, blah, blah. She doesn’t, I can’t believe, I got so angry. I thought, you terrible person. You terrible, terrible. And I know they like her and I guess they, I would love to know. You and I are broadcasters, obviously, and we get into the business of things. They can tell you right now, I guarantee you, what the numbers look like when Harold Ford is on and what their ratings are like when she is on. I love Harold. Love Harold.
SPEAKER 05 :
Mike, I’m sorry. It’s at your end. I’m getting a half-second clap back on me on your end, so make that stop.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah, I got a mixed minus there. We fixed it. No, I do too, although sometimes, look.
SPEAKER 05 :
Do you think Harold’s faking it, that his reasonableness, his affability is an act?
SPEAKER 04 :
No, I think he’s always been a… I think he’s always been a moderate Democrat, a pretty good moderate Democrat. So no problem with him. I saw him on a plane once and he looked at me and this is when I was a Fox contributor. And so I knew he knew me and he was like looking and staring. And I thought it was one of those like, do I say hi? Does he say hi? If he says one more time. It’s good to be back with you around the table.
SPEAKER 05 :
It’s a fun bit.
SPEAKER 04 :
It’s fine. It’s fine. I hate that. It’s like nails on a chalkboard. But here’s what I’m excited about tomorrow. I’ve decided. I found myself going down. I’m doom scrolling. I’m nervous about stuff. I’m anxious about Elon. There’s a lot of bad news. And I’m forgetting all the great news that’s out there. There is a ton. You know what I’m going to do tomorrow? What do you know? I’m going to do Good News Friday. I’m not going to do one topic that is contentious. I won’t miss breaking news. I’ll read breaking news like a newsman. I’ll be like a newsman. But I am not going to do contentiousness. And when I mentioned it the other day, the audience kind of lit up and they said, absolutely, it’s a great idea. And I can see by the look on your face. I don’t know.
SPEAKER 05 :
I don’t know. I don’t know. I’m going to try it. I don’t know. At its heart, knowing you and your heart, it’s wonderful. I think as a, pardon the usage here, gimmick, it’s a good one. I mean, it’s a fright. But what if, I don’t know. Well, I’ll cover anything big.
SPEAKER 04 :
I mean, I won’t miss anything. But as long as, you know, Trump doesn’t, like, nuke Sweden tomorrow. I want to do positive stories. Now, look, by positive stories, I mean the economy. I mean the GDP. Absolutely. The accomplishments.
SPEAKER 05 :
Absolutely.
SPEAKER 04 :
You bet. I mean, there’s a ton of stuff that’s going on right now. I mean, just look at the last 24 hours. Global foundries investing $18 billion to boost U.S. chip production. A judge threw out the DNC’s election commission lawsuit against Trump. Trump has a pretty productive conversation with Putin. That kind of stuff. I want to talk about Rasmussen’s right track poll hits 50% for the first time ever.
SPEAKER 05 :
Which never happens. That poll, nobody ever, you never get more than 50 because here’s why. And it’s a weird question. Is America on the right track or wrong track? What a weird, vague question. But I kind of get it. It’s worth asking. The reason you never get to 50%. is half of America is always angry, no matter who’s president. Half of America is always angry. And there’s always a smidge of people who just like to complain. For that reason, you never get to 50-plus on right track or on track.
SPEAKER 04 :
You do realize Barack Obama didn’t have 50% in his second term, at this stage in his second term. Do you realize, and this is what we want to focus on, on Mike’s Good News Friday. Look, Eric Hansen and I always have a running joke. I’m so sorry. About the laziness of talk show hosts who do, like, open line Friday. It’s like, all that means is you didn’t prepare for the show. That’s all that means. That’s right. You want the callers.
SPEAKER 05 :
It’s open line Friday. You mean people like our colleague Chris DeGaulle and that other guy?
SPEAKER 04 :
I don’t know what you’re talking about.
SPEAKER 05 :
What was his name? Rush Limbaugh?
SPEAKER 04 :
Open line Friday. Whatever’s on your mind.
SPEAKER 05 :
NASCAR Friday.
SPEAKER 04 :
Let’s talk NASCAR.
SPEAKER 05 :
Here’s the dirty little secret. Aren’t we all doing open line Friday every day? Is there a day on the Mike Gallagher show where you’re talking about, let’s say, two or three things you got going, where there’s a really good call about something else, you’re not going to take it?
SPEAKER 04 :
Thank you. I will. Mine is yours. You and I do caller driven shows and me probably more than most. I’d rather talk to Bob in Denton, Texas than I would, you know, some some politician or author. So so I think this is going to be cool. I’m going to try this. I’m going to see how it goes. Pray for me. Maybe it’s going to be a good day for our prison fellowship campaign. I always want to remind Mark Davis fans about sponsoring a child to go to summer camp. A Christian summer camp, the child of an American prisoner. Please go to mikeonline.com. We’ve got like almost 600 kids sponsored in just a couple of weeks. So it’s a beautiful, beautiful program. So that’s good news. Good polling numbers. But I think the audience can tell you’re mocking me. No, I’m not. It’s so weird.
SPEAKER 05 :
This is very inside baseball. It’s like there’s something about topical self-limitation that I could never do. I will never do Good News Friday.
SPEAKER 01 :
I used to work with a guy.
SPEAKER 05 :
Something I’m going to want to fuss about at 830. And I can’t do it because it’s Good News Friday. I mean, I know. But you be you. And I know.
SPEAKER 04 :
And it’s a great idea. I love it.
SPEAKER 05 :
And I think the audience will love it, too.
SPEAKER 04 :
So don’t I used to work with him. I used to work with a guy in New York who’s still a friend. Very colorful guy named Lionel. And he liked to do topics like. What’s the worst smell you ever encountered? Give me a call. What’s the worst thing you’ve ever… And he loves topics like that. And by the way, Lionel is back on an overnight gig in New York on WABC in New York City.
SPEAKER 05 :
So good for him.
SPEAKER 04 :
Oh, he’s a very libertarian, conspiracy guy, but funny as can be. Started out his broadcasting career as a… As a caller here in Tampa Bay.
SPEAKER 05 :
Caller at WFLA in Tampa. Absolutely.
SPEAKER 04 :
That’s exactly right. And Dirty Little Secret, he did nothing personal. I’ve never taken it personally. He didn’t want a partner on the morning show on WABC in New York.
SPEAKER 05 :
What do you mean? Like to do a you and Lionel show?
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah, he did not like that. Dude, there’s no… He did not like that.
SPEAKER 05 :
Mike, there is nothing like the love you and I have for each other. Stipulated? Yes. You and I don’t want to do a show together. I don’t want to do, except for that one day.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah, but the problem was I was doing a show with him. I mean, it’s not like we had an option. No, wait a minute. What? I was his partner. It was the Mike and Lionel show, and he didn’t like it.
SPEAKER 05 :
He made clear he didn’t want to do it. Well, he didn’t make it clear.
SPEAKER 04 :
Just trust me, he didn’t like it.
SPEAKER 05 :
I had the opportunity at WRC in Washington. I had the opportunity to do sort of a point-counterpoint with a liberal host. I love segments like that, and I love guests that I disagree with.
SPEAKER 04 :
Me too.
SPEAKER 05 :
But every day, blah, blah, blah, crossfire? No, I said no, I don’t want to do it.
SPEAKER 04 :
Ten minutes of you interrupting me is enough. That’s all I want is ten minutes a day. I couldn’t do two, three, four hours of it. But, no, he made it clear, not really publicly, but kind of the way. But that’s okay. Water under the bridge. I mean, it’s the past. And things turned out pretty well for old Gallagher and for Lionel.
SPEAKER 05 :
He’s not over it.
SPEAKER 04 :
Maybe he is. I don’t know. We’ll see. I love you, too. Happy Thursday, and I’ll see you on Good News Friday tomorrow. Yay.
SPEAKER 05 :
Yay. Love it. That’s Mike. He’s there for you every day, 10 o’clock, as soon as we’re done on 660 AM. The answer. For full shows, live and on demand, it’s Salem News Channel.
