And right now, Trump is arriving at Blair House. And as we’re continuing our inaugural coverage today from Washington, D.C., J.D. Vance is emerging from the limousine. Of course, if you’re watching this on Salem News Channel, we have all of this covered for you. Doug Emhoff, the… husband of kamala harris and kamala herself are standing there at the entrance they’re waiting for uh jd vance to be joined by his wife usha they are both now she looks beautiful in a pink overcoat he’s wearing a uh a dark overcoat they’re now shaking hands outside um to go inside for tea and And that’s, again, one of the many Washington traditions. And right now they’re all standing and posing for pictures. And I have to say, Kamala took a big, deep breath and sighed and said, well, I’ve got to do this. This is just a formality. And so now J.D. Vance, Kamala, Doug Emhoff, and Usha Vance are standing for just a few seconds posing for pictures. Kamala now says, I’ve had enough of that. Let’s go inside. And they’ve all turned. And they are now getting ready to go into Blair House. Kind of a British thing because, you know, we did conquer them. But the Brits get to hold on to one last tradition, I guess. These first and second families having traditional tea. Yeah. and obviously they’re going to start the dialogue, and boy, it’ll be a fly on that wall. It’s a weekend, and we’re kicking off a week of experiences. Joey Hudson and I had quite the experience last night trying to traverse the roads of Washington, D.C., Joey, of course, is our frequent guest host and my dear friend. And Joey and his wife Peg are here. She looked beautiful last night in the balls. I posted a bunch of pictures on X. I think Tracy is posting a lot of our pictures on MikeOnline.com. So we’re all up to date there. And Joey joins me in studio because, Joey, the whole plan was you were going to be at the ceremony tonight. Outside, you were all ready to go with your electric vest with the heat probes and the heat warmer gloves. It got moved inside. So you’re like a man without a country. Where do you go now on Inauguration Day since nobody’s allowed to be at the ceremony? And, of course, we weren’t fortunate enough to be the smaller group that would be inside the Capitol Rotunda. I mean, I didn’t bring you all the way here for nothing. Right.

I can’t imagine that the crowd has been reduced to just over 600 from, what was it, like 280,000, and we weren’t included. But, you know, we’re going to make the best of it, and I’m going to be out talking with people out around the mall, around the Capitol, where we should have been, bringing some reports and just getting a response of, you know, there was disappointment. When we learned that we would not be outside, as you mentioned earlier, I think it probably had more to do with security necessarily than the weather. But we’re going to make the best of it because as we saw last night with people around the balls, there’s just a sense of hope of the new America that we’re going to see. And it’s going to start right after noon today.

Right now, the University of Nebraska choir is performing inside the Capitol Rotunda. Of course, all the seats have been put in place. It’s going to be a much smaller gathering, and the swearing-in is going to take place inside the Capitol Rotunda. Guys, can we listen to this at all, Christian? Chills, the Nebraska choir inside the Capitol Rotunda as we continue our inauguration coverage. Joey Hudson with me here in our SNC studios in our nation’s capital. Joey, you and I, you’ve been coming to Washington, D.C. for years. I’ve been here a lot. Been through lots of metal detectors. We’ve had a lot of, of course… security procedures.

Never seen anything like this one, have you? Have not. There’s reportedly 30 miles of seven-foot-tall fencing all around the city. And, of course, you and I found out, along with Peg and our boss, Phil Boyce, last night, it’s not easy getting around D.C. these days. I think we tried everything but a train last night to get over to a couple of the balls. But, yeah, security is crazy.
SPEAKER 11 :
Joey, I’ve got to tell the pedicabs. I knew you would. You knew I couldn’t let that one go. So we’re at the South Carolina Ball, which is a great, great, beautiful ball. I mean, it was in the Smithsonian at the Portrait Gallery. Again, I posted a lot of pictures and videos on our YouTube channel and on X and on Rumble and Truth Social and all over the place. Tracy’s been scrambling to make sure everything is posted in all the right places. But you can’t take a car. There’s no Uber that can get you from the Smithsonian to the Salamander Hotel because all the roads are closed to vehicles. And again, Joey, I’ve never seen that even in New York City when the U.N. is in session and all that. There’s high security events when the president might visit Manhattan. They still keep the roads open. They might block roads for the motorcade, but they don’t shut the whole city down. Understand, they’ve got the whole area around the White House and all a K Street, G Street, F Street. We saw all the alphabet streets last night because we were walking. Well, then we flagged down a couple of pedicabs. Now, to people who don’t know what a pedicab is, that is when a guy, generally from a foreign country, is pedaling like a bicycle with a cab for two. And there were two of them, empty. So I got the bright idea that we should get into two of those and take those to the Salamander Hotel. Did you have any idea what they were going to charge us when we got to the hotel, Joey Hudson?

I had no idea. And you know me, had I known, I would have continued to walk. You would have crawled.
SPEAKER 11 :
You would have crawled on your belly the two miles. The last I heard, you were arguing with, you know, Rashi or whatever his name was because he wanted a tip on top of the, wait for it. Are we really going to say this? $740 for the two pedicabs to go, what do you think, about a mile and a half? 1.2 miles. I checked it. I’ll bet you did. I’ll bet you did.

Now, who’s going to put this on the sale of expense report, you or me? Well, our boss was in there with us, so I think it’s a legitimate expense, right?

It’s not that cold, but it’s… I have my heavy jacket ready. Nana Hudson made sure I bring my cap and my gloves. I’ve got my scarf. So I’m ready to hit the field.

Because that was part of the problem last night when we were trying to get from point A to point B. I bought the last overcoat in the state of Florida, and it’s about the thickness of a windbreaker. I thought it would be cute to get a red MAGA scarf. That was about the size of a piece of, like a Kleenex. So I’ve got no warmth at all last night. If I don’t get, can you get triple pneumonia?

Do you get triple pneumonia or is it just double pneumonia? I think you’ve experienced double pneumonia. I don’t know if you can get triple, but hey, who knows? I’m going to get quadruple pneumonia. You’ve done other things that people said you couldn’t do. You got that right.

I mean, it’s it’s outrageous. And it was a friend of mine who said, let’s hope Trump doesn’t take the bait. And let’s not, my message to you is, let’s not forget what a great day today is. Let’s not let these rotten, corrupt people remember or take us away and distract us from what we’re celebrating today. In fact, I posted this morning on X after the news came out a final evil act. I retweeted Molly Hemingway. The great Molly Hemingway wrote, Biden pardons Liz Cheney, Anthony Fauci, various others for their crimes against the country. And that’s the headline. That’s the takeaway. These rotten people were pardoned for their crimes against America. And so I reposted her comment, and then I wrote, a final evil act involving some truly awful people. They got away with it. But don’t let this act of desperation deflate you from today. We beat them, every one of them. They’ll have to live with the fact that today’s inauguration is a repudiation of everything they fought for. Our long national nightmare is about to end. And President Donald J. Trump is about to be sworn in. Welcome in to our inauguration coverage from our nation’s capital. A city that is very different from what I normally see. have seen over the years in visiting our nation’s capital, nothing like this kind of security has ever taken place. In fact, as you know by now, sadly, the inauguration on the steps of the Capitol was canceled to be moved indoors to the Capitol Rotunda. And there’s a lot of speculation as to why. It’s a brisk, sunny, 29 degrees right now here in our nation’s capital. Certainly not life-threatening conditions by any means. The expectation is that this is all going to go off without a hitch, and the rumor is that there is an enormous security threat. to today’s activities. I am just filled with such joy and gratitude for the American people. This is a day that is a celebratory one. I keep hearing those beautiful words in my mind. This is the day the Lord has made. Let us be thankful and rejoice. Not everybody, though, is particularly happy about all of the security problems, the precautions. Many people traveled from all over the country in order to attend the swearing-in on the mall. Everybody could get into the mall. You might be back a ways from the seated area, but you were able to come. And I am so sad for people who really… don’t have anywhere to go now, except for perhaps the Capital One Arena, where there is to be a post-inaugural swearing-in rally that President Trump is expected to attend. Now, the media is also experiencing all kinds of security challenges and hassles, not just the legacy media, but the good guys, like our team here in Washington from SRN News. SRN News U.S. Senate correspondent Bob Agnew is apparently locked out of his workstation. We thought it would be good to pop in with Bob to find out what it feels like to be a hotshot reporter who can’t get to where you need to be. Bob, tell us where you are and where you’d like to be.

Well, amen. Thank you, brother. Now here, as most people might know, you’ve got the Capitol building. That’s where I normally work. And then you’ve got these, on one end, you’ve got the congressional office buildings where they spend most of their time working. and on the other end, the Senate, from the Senate office buildings. So today, when I got off the Metro and went to get into the Capitol building, not the inauguration in the rotunda, just the building to get my workspace, they blocked us out, made us come through here. And it turns out, Mike, this change of venue, whether it’s because of the cold weather, security concerns, whatever, It really threw a wrench in the works for like the Senate radio and TV gallery. Some of the best people, nicest people over there, very helpful. They were not. They told me today the inauguration credentials didn’t even get printed properly because just a handful of them. So nobody, it doesn’t matter. The people I work around up there, CBS, CNN, whoever, they can’t get in today either on the Senate side. So I’m stuck here in one of the House office buildings, a little cafe down here, very nice accommodations. But I’m over here, you know, just a little ways outside the Capitol building itself and doing what I can from right here in this little workspace.

Bob, have you ever in all the years you’ve been here in D.C., have you ever seen security like this?
SPEAKER 10 :
No. Well, maybe a little bit shortly after the January 6th rioting and stuff. You know, the gates around. It was very similar to that this morning.

Well, I guess we lost our connection.

We got turned away from the building like I was today. So, yeah, that’s a bit of a mystery to me. I don’t know if we really. No, I’m here. If you’re getting me, I’m saying I’ve never been turned away from the Capitol building. Right.

Right. And, you know, that’s Bob Agnew, a little bit of an intermittent Internet connection. Not only, of course, is it a monumental day for our nation. I’m sure people who hate Trump couldn’t believe him up on that stage for a big rally at Capital One Arena after a very exuberant speech, dancing with the village people who were singing YMCA. My gosh. I mean, if you’d have told me… Ten years ago, that that would be an image we’d see for the 47th president of the United States. I’d say you’re crazy. And it was joyful, and it was wonderful, and it was glorious. I mean, hey, can you pull that up, Christian? Can we play that, Sot? I’d love to play that full screen. Let’s listen in. Here was President Trump in his power tie on stage with the village people. You got the Indian people. The construction worker, the cowboy, and whatever. And here they were celebrating this pre-inaugural ceremony yesterday at Capital One Arena. There they go. There’s Trump shaking the Indian, the cowboy, the construction worker. Big beaming look of satisfaction on his face. And of course, Trump’s doing the famous dance now with the fists, the back and forth. Everybody join in.

What a country, huh? What a time to be alive. We got a lot of stuff to talk about that isn’t so happy. I am trying to control my rage at Biden’s despicable 11th hour pardon of Anthony Fauci, Liz Cheney, Adam Kinzinger, and these awful, awful people who persecuted and prosecuted so many. They’re going to get away with it. I didn’t think he was going to do it. And I hate to bring down the mood, but you’ve got to know what’s happening here. Biden has issued a last-minute pardon to everybody on the January 6th Select Committee. Biden has pardoned Dr. Anthony Fauci, General Mark Milley. Now, interestingly, Special Counsel Jack Smith said, Former FBI Director Christopher Wray and Attorney General Merrick Garland are not included in the pardon. However, the rest of them are, as Molly Hemingway put it, Biden pardoned people who had committed crimes against this country. And if you’re not angry enough at that news, let’s take you back… To 2020, when President Trump issued some pardons as his term came to an end, Joe Biden, then President-elect Biden, had a few choice words for President Trump’s pardons.

President Trump is reportedly considering a wave of preemptive pardons. Does this concern you? All these preemptive pardons?

Well, it concerns me in terms of what kind of precedent it sets and how the rest of the world looks at us as a nation of laws and justice. There they are, emerging from… There’s a line of them and a procession of going down the red carpet and getting into the limousine. And then, of course, shortly after that, J.D. Vance and Usha will get in the limousine along with… Of course, that’s actually J.D. Vance getting into the limousine, not President Trump. So the Trumps and the Bidens have already departed. I’m watching the feed here on Salem News Channel, and there’s J.D. Vance after that and him getting in the car with Kamala Harris and Doug. I called him earlier Doug Burgum, Doug Emhoff. Gosh. And think about some of the goodwill that Donald Trump is enjoying right now. He’s entering office with the highest approval rating he’s ever had, ever, ever, 60%. Joe Biden, of course, one of the most unpopular presidents in the history of America. According to Gallup, he’s under 40%. He’s about 39%. I watched yesterday in the hotel room. a report on the CBS morning show, which I like, CBS Sunday morning. It’s one of my favorite shows, but, boy, when they step in it, they step in it, and it was a fawning report on Joe Biden and the success he had as president. I almost fell off the couch. I mean, honestly, if I… put you on the spot, if I held you hostage and you said, in order to let you go, you’ve got to tell me five accomplishments of the Biden administration, what would they be? I’ll take three. And the CBS report had some nonsense about, well, you know, a lot of infrastructure progress and jobs created. I always loved that one. As if shutting the country down due to a pandemic and then reopening the country with all those millions of jobs coming back because by virtue of the country being reopened is somehow Biden’s accomplishment. Are you kidding? Wow. Talk about people living in la-la land. Look, they can whine and gripe and moan and complain. Today has arrived, and it’s a day we should be celebrating. It’s a day we do celebrate. Normal people want Trump to succeed. Normal people don’t want a hair on his head harmed. Thanks, as a result of President Trump’s efforts, TikTok is back. Now, I know it’s complicated, and I understand that it’s a difficult, challenging situation. We don’t want the Chinese Communist Party to spy on us. We don’t want to be beholden to handing off our data. But of course, that’s your choice. If you want to engage on TikTok, knock yourself out. Here was Trump yesterday, cut number two, announcing as part of his speech that culminated in the village people performing live on stage, singing YMCA. Here’s what Trump said about TikTok returning. So, you know, I did a little TikTok thing. We have a guy, TikTok Jack. He’s a young kid, like 21 years old. And we hired this guy and I went on TikTok. Can you believe what I’ll do to win an election? And we went on TikTok and Republicans have never won the young vote, the youth vote. They win a lot of votes, but they never won the youth vote. We won the youth vote by 36 points. So I like TikTok. I like it. I like it. I had a slightly good experience, wouldn’t you say? Romney lost it by 40 points. Not so long ago, we won it by 36 points. That’s a very big spread. But I said we need to save TikTok because we’re talking about a tremendous… Who in this audience goes with TikTok? Many? Very popular. And frankly, we have no choice. We have to save it a lot of jobs. We don’t want to give our business to China. We don’t want to give our business to other people. And I said, you know, tick tock without my approval, meaning the president’s approval, because Congress gave the president the right to make a deal, do whatever he wants. And they did that a long time ago when they had a different president. They didn’t know that I was going to be the president, I guess. So I said, very simply, a joint venture. So if TikTok is worth nothing, zero, without an approval. You know, if you don’t approve, they’re out of business, they’re worth nothing. If you do approve, they’re worth like a trillion dollars. They’re worth some crazy number. So I said, I’ll approve, but let the United States of America own 50% of TikTok. I’m approving on behalf of the United States. So they’ll have a partner, the United States, and they’ll have a lot of bidders, and the United States will do what we call a joint venture. And there’s no risk. We’re not putting up any money. The crowd obviously loved it. Now, look, I understand the criticism that he’s gotten because he did reverse his position. He was initially… in favor of banning TikTok. I saw a lot of influencers being criticized because they, too, were once for banning TikTok. Now they want TikTok back. And as Trump very candidly admitted, and that’s one of the things I love about the guy, he’s utterly transparent. He said, look, TikTok helped me win. I won the youth vote and probably did it with TikTok. He’s very, very blunt and honest about his reversal. But here’s what I don’t understand. You would think the left would celebrate a popular American app being available to the American people. 170 million people engage in TikTok. Millions of small business owners rely on TikTok to sell product. There’s a lot of feel-good, touchy-feely stuff on TikTok too. You’d think the left would like that. Now, I get that they want to criticize Trump because he reversed himself. But you know why they’re really mad? You want to know why they’re really angry? Because of all the tons of goodwill that he’s getting from young people, thankful that thanks to him, TikTok is back. That’s why they’re mad. Everything is going right for this guy. Everything has fallen into place. And the idea that he was able to get TikTok back, and TikTok said, thanks to President Trump, TikTok is back. The Trump haters are furious at all of the goodwill and all of the gratitude that millions of Americans, most of them young Americans, are expressing for Donald Trump. The motorcade is proceeding right now. From the White House to the Rotunda. It’s a massive motorcade, of course. Many, many, probably hundreds of vehicles. The inauguration of Donald Trump, the 47th president of the United States of America, underway on Capitol Hill inside the Rotunda. The Trump family just entered. Moments ago, the U.S. Supreme Court justices entered. Sonia Sotomayor, by the way, looking physically challenged. She was all hunched over, looked like perhaps maybe suffering from some physical problems. And I will tell you that it was kind of fun to look at the – I like studying people. I love observing human beings. And of the justices, some of them were smiling and some of them were not. I’ll give you three guesses as to which of the justices were smiling and which had grimaces on their face. Let’s go back out to the Capitol Rotunda where outside the inauguration ceremony, our own Joey Hudson is visiting with people who are just trying to get a little glimpse of history. Joey, you look like you’re with a very dapper young man there with a big red top hat.

And, of course, like all of us, we want America to be more affordable again. So Kevin, like many people who are at this back gate, we’re just behind the Capitol.

kind of peering in as a lot of activity over there the army van just came out and a lot of enthusiastic people disappointed they’re not on the other side of the fence but still glad to be here absolutely and joey people are disappointed but are they still pretty happy i mean even outside the capitol rotunda where they know what’s going on inside they got to be thrilled to be close to the to this piece of history right

They’re very excited. Yes, they’re disappointed they can’t be in there, but that has not curbed their enthusiasm at all. Again, they’re just excited that Donald Trump’s going to be our president in just a matter of moments.

And of course, moments ago in walks Kamala Harris. Now the curtains part and Jill Biden, the first lady, enters the Rotunda to applause with the second. gentleman, I guess you’d call him, Doug Emhoff, as we take you live to the U.S. Capitol and the rotunda. You see Jill Biden shaking Bill Clinton’s hand, and there’s Susie Wiles, who’s the chief of staff. President Trump affectionately calls her the Iron Lady, and she’s tough. She’s a… She’s a no-nonsense, get-it-done, very, very businesslike chief of staff that President Trump is going to appreciate, I think. Bill Clinton, of course, scanning the crowd. You know, who knows what’s going through his mind. George Bush, he’s sort of giggling and laughing a lot. And, of course, he’s there with Laura Bush. I understand Mike Pence is there alone, just like Barack Obama. Apparently, Mrs. Pence has evidently decided to boycott the inauguration of President Trump. Now they’re all standing and waiting for the big moment when the president-elect and our future first lady We’ll be entering the rotunda. All the justices are, everybody’s now in place. Of course, the familiar blue podium. And Trump is scheduled to go to the Capital One Arena after the inauguration swearing in. And there’s a desk that is set up on the set next to his podium, a wooden desk. You know what that’s for. I mean, he has already signaled that he’s going to sign those executive orders right there in front of the crowd gathering at the Capital One Arena. So the 20-plus thousand people who will be packed inside the Capital One Arena are going to be in for a real treat. They’re going to see him sign executive orders on issues like the border. He is going to presumably sign executive orders about lots of drama about the economy and ways that he can free up and change the disastrous Biden economic policies. And look, Trump is starting from day one to reverse the disastrous policies of the last four years. And this is a shining, shining day. This is a bright day. And for many of us, a very, very happy day. And I’m glad to be able to share it with you, you and me together, here on the Mike Gallagher Show. And welcome to people watching and streaming on X. We had good seats. We were going to be in Section 12, and we were going to be pretty close and seated, and we would have been able to witness history. So now we’ve got all the ticketing and the memorabilia that will be suitable for framing. And Joey, all of us have our own copy. Phil Boyce, our boss, was to be here with his wife, Diana. And we’re praying for Diana, who’s a little under the weather and wasn’t able to make the trip. And we know she was sad and we were all devastated not to be able to have her join us. But she was with us in spirit. And look, this is big. I know there’s a lot of anger about Biden pardoning Fauci. And if you didn’t hear the news, Biden did a last second pardon of Fauci and Liz Cheney and Kinzinger and all those other clowns. involving the January 6th Select Committee, which, of course, signals to the world that Biden wanted to preemptively pardon people who committed crimes against our country. And all of them are scoundrels. All of them are in their own hall of shame. And maybe, just maybe, Biden’s horrific, desperate pardon of these clowns, we’ll see to it now that Republicans are going to stay in control for decades to come. Now, Washington, Mark, you know, Washington, D.C. I know Washington, D.C. I’ve been coming here for years. I have never seen security like this. They shut to traffic the whole flipping city down. You can’t get a vehicle from point A to point B. So what do you got to do? You got to walk because all of the streets are closed now. Metro working. Yeah, and I’m going to get on the Metro. I’ll do that. You want me to get lit on fire? I’d like to not get lit on fire on Inauguration Eve.

Tell me, you’re going on the New York subway, which is 20 times more dangerous. But anyway.

I don’t know the Metro here. I ain’t doing Metro, so we’re walking. And it’s bitter cold. Now, you’ve got to picture this. I’ve got an overcoat. I bought the last overcoat available in the state of Florida because they don’t sell overcoats in Florida. I was going to say, why not? It’s about the composition of a windbreaker. Right. I thought I’d get clever and get a red MAGA tie. It’s like a tissue paper. It doesn’t keep my neck warm. So we’re walking and we’re walking and we’re all of a sudden. And it’s got you got picture this Joey Hudson, his wife, Peg. She’s in a beautiful ball gown. She’s complaining because it’s cold as you know what. She’s got her coat. She’s shivering. Phil Boyce, our boss, he’s marching along with his gray ski cap on and his overcoat that he ordered from Amazon because he’s in Orlando. He couldn’t find any overcoats either. So we’re all moaning and groaning. And it’s about a mile and a half, two miles in the cold, in the bitter cold. So along come two… foreigners on pedicabs you know what pedicabs are you know the guy with the bike the rickshaw the little rickshaw he’s got a he’s he’s pedaling a two-seater and they stop and i wave them down i thought guys this is our an answer to a prayer and by the way those ain’t cheap ain’t cheap brace yourself So they buckle us in, and it’s like the two brothers from Saturday Night Live. Remember the Steve Martin, Dan Aykroyd brothers? Were those the brothers? We are the wild and crazy guys. These are the brothers. They’re our pedicab drivers, and they put blankets over us. I’m back in the thing under a blanket with my boss, Phil Boyce, Joey and Peggy. And the immigrants are taking us, the illegals, they’re worried about getting deported, so they’re already grumpy, and they’re driving us. And, of course, they’ve got to blare the obnoxious music because those pedicabs, they put on music tracks. So we’re in the darkened streets of D.C. with YMCA blaring out of our pedicabs, and I lean over to Phil, and they’re taking their time. Now they’re going to charge us by the minute. By the minute. By the minute. He says he’s got a stopwatch. He’s got a stopwatch, right? Well, he’s taking his sweet time. I leaned over to Phil. I said, Phil, you know what this is going to cost us? He said, well, I’m going to plan on giving him a 20. I said, a 20? We get to the Salamander Hotel, and Raji and Gigi pull out their calculators, and they say, okay, that’ll be $376. Now, I say to the one guy who’s kind of the guy that can speak English, my guy can’t speak English. The other guy speaks broken English. I said, is that for both? He said, yeah, yeah, yeah, that’s for both. I thought, well, okay. So I walk away. Well, now he chases me down. He goes, no, no, no, no, no, no, both. $376 each.

Yeah, he thought both meant, yeah, exactly.

$376 for you? Oh, the two people in his pedicab.

In his pedicab. No, no. But it didn’t mean to. It was $740 to drive a mile and a half in two pedicabs. Now, Joey’s arguing with him. I said, Joey. Oh, no. He said, this is outrageous. This is ridiculous. And I’m trying to get away. I’m thinking, we’re going to get shot or stabbed. There’s going to be an international incident. And all I want to do is get inside to the turning point ball and see the village people sing YMCA in person. And the final indignity, and we’ll get off of this, the guy wanted a tip from Joe.

Exactly. That’s exactly what I was going to ask. Joey starts screwing up on top of $700.

On top of $700. I can hear Joey bellowing in his unmistakable southern accent. A tap? A tap? You want a tap on top of $750? Are you out of your mind? And I’m just thinking, that’s my night. This is it. This is a Gallagher production. So we made it inside. Now, it was pandemonium at the Salamander Hotel. The turning point ball, that was the ball, I guess. It was just chaos to get in. It was crazy. I have never… I’ll tell you what, it was so overwhelming. Now, there was security to go through the metal detector. We were supposed to have a high-level ticket to get… No ticket. We got in without anything. They didn’t ask for a ticket. They didn’t ask for a name on a list. We just got, I mean, look, anybody, I don’t, but I noticed that the guys doing security, I kid you not, for the Charlie, this shows you where Charlie Kirk is in the ecosystem, U.S. Secret Service. Hello. They had Secret Service guys doing the security. I mean, I’ve never seen anything like it. And, of course, let’s get back to the big picture for a moment about the whole inauguration weekend. Mm-hmm. All this business of moving it inside, and there’s a lot of rumors about why. I’m getting word from my sources here on the Hill, and these are congressional staffers, and even one particular member of Congress told me this doesn’t have anything to do with the weather. It is not weather-related. There is a massive security concern about the safety and the health and the well-being of President Trump. And everybody who would have been attending today, and that’s why they moved it indoors. That’s what I’m hearing anyway.

I’m going to hold that at a big arm’s length. Because I think those who know ain’t talking and those who are talking don’t know, for the most part. What if it were 45 degrees and sunny? Going to move it inside then? Or is this just a, I mean, I’m willing to believe that the cold weather gives them an excuse to do something that seems like an extra safety move. I believe that. Well, wait a minute. So you’re putting what at arm’s length? You don’t believe that? The notion that security is the main thing. It’s 10 flipping degrees. People are going to have to be outside for five hours.

It’s 28 and it’s sunny. It is sunny skies and 28 degrees with a light wind. There’s a lot of hype about the weather. Mark, it was colder for the Obama administration. It was colder for JFK. Colder for JFK. Now, you know, I don’t know. Look, we don’t have to get hung up on this because what I don’t want to do, and I walked into the studio today so angry at this pardon. I’m so upset about what happened. What Biden did, this evil, desperate act of of letting them get away with it. Fauci, Liz Cheney, the I didn’t think he was going to do it. I didn’t think he had the guts to do the gall to do it. Mark Milley, Fauci and the January 6th committee members, including Cassidy Hutchinson, that liar who who perjured herself. You did a lot of terrible. He he he’s going to let him go. I’ll get away with it. Liz Cheney. The only reason you look. They got away with it. But but here’s what I don’t want to happen. I hope Trump doesn’t take the bait. I think it’s an absolute troll move. It’s to stick it to the the the the exuberance of today. It’s to try to put a cast a pall over that. I hope Trump barely acknowledges it. And because, look, Mark, the great one, Mark Levin posted today on X. Once again, it’s mourning in America. Finally, we take back our country from those destroying it. And we’re talking to you, Anthony Fauci. We’re talking to you, Liz Cheney. This is me talking. None of it would have been possible today without you, the American people, and the courage and leadership of President Trump, a historic and iconic person. Today is the long-awaited day. I don’t want to get, in fact, on the show today, I just do not want to get distracted by how angry and just enraged I am. That smirking Liz Cheney, to think that that bad person is going to get away with this, Mark.

But does she? Because here’s the first thing that occurs to me as the news of that hit my laptop. Fauci and Cheney in particular, I don’t think anybody cares about Mark Milley, but Fauci and Liz Cheney in particular. Heavy iron doors were never going to slam behind them. That was never going to happen. Mightn’t there have been some type of legal action? Maybe. But they are reputationally destroyed. The court of public opinion has rendered its verdict, and they’ll always be welcome at Manhattan cocktail parties. But by and large, they are damaged goods for life, and I’m pretty good with it.

Well, I get it. I guess that’s that’s that’s a good way to look at it. And I’m going to try to hold that in my heart because I’m capable. I’m a petty, shallow, small, small man. Denise would say, you’re a little man. I’m just furious. I mean, I can’t I can’t believe I really thought when we got to like yesterday and the day before, I thought, well, maybe he’s not going to do it.

We’re in the final hours. He’s not going to do anything. But what? No, he’s. Yeah.

Here we go. One last middle finger. And the timing is everything for him. They’re doing it to try to cast a poll. And isn’t it hysterical to watch their rage over TikTok? Think about this over the TikTok ban. 170 million American TikTok users were greeted to a message yesterday that said, welcome back to TikTok. Thanks to President Trump. Do you realize the goodwill? I mean, imagine that negotiation behind the scenes. Trump said, OK, I’ll bail you out. But you make sure you send everybody a message because it was I’ve got a tick tock account. And I looked at the box and it says, thanks to President Trump’s assurances that he’s going to blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Tick tock is back. So young people are now saying, hey, way to go, Trump. Young people. I mean, the goodwill that he was engendered by this move. And they hate it. That’s why they’re furious. Because, look, he did an about face on it. It wasn’t all long ago. He was saying it’s got to be banned. In the first term, he thought the ban was possibly a good idea. And folks like Charlie Kirk are getting called out because they were calling TikTok evil and it needs to be banned. I’ve never, you know, I’ve talked about this a lot. We have. I’ve never been comfortable with a TikTok ban. I don’t know how you do it. I don’t know why you do it. I don’t know why you shoot. Can’t two things be true at once? Can we not put up guardrails to make sure that the Chinese are not spying on us and taking our data and keep the app running? Is there no way to do that?

And if anybody’s concerns are profound enough, don’t be on TikTok. If you don’t want Beijing, you know, knowing anything about you, even though the entire world knows everything about you already, then don’t have a TikTok account.

I said that over and over again. And then people get frustrated with me. But I keep saying that. Well, it’s about my kids. OK, how about keep your kids off TikTok? Exactly. Be a parent.

For crying out loud, be a mom or dad anyway. But again, Trump today, he’s expected to take over 200 executive actions on day one. Look, I settled into the hotel room last night after these balls, and it was fun. And, you know, the South Carolina ball was wonderful over at the Smithsonian. We were in the portrait gallery, and the band was playing, and everybody’s a little cheery. cheering and laughing and smiling. Mark, this is so epic to get here after as hard as we fought. And I’m talking about you, Mark. I’m talking about me. I’m talking about our audience. We fought so hard in 2024 and look what we experienced and look what we achieved.

Today is the payoff. It is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it. I am so glad that you are there. A final couple of minutes. What do you want from me from his speech? Remember his speech from 2017? It was critics, which we are always going to do, called it dark and foreboding. Well, it kind of was because he identified the various ways in which America and the world were mightily screwed up. And the first thing you’ve got to do to make a problem better is identify what the problem is. And he did so in and he didn’t varnish anything. Oh, it’s so dark. It was a wonderful inaugural address. First time. What do you look for today?
SPEAKER 11 :
Well, I believe he’s going to, if the reports are correct, he’s going to really stress unity. That’s going to be a big part of the theme. He’s going to say, you know, look, Democrats and Republicans, we all have got to get together to make this country great again together. He has the highest approval rating he’s ever had in his life. He’s about 60 percent. A lot of even a lot of Democrats are maybe silently cheering for him. We’ve got to we’ve got to turn this all around. We’ve got to we’ve got to close these borders. We’ve got to make groceries affordable again. We’ve got to be concerned about the Chinese. We’ve got to be concerned about the Middle East. Look at the Trump effect. And God bless them. There were three hostages who are now are now home. You know, that wasn’t Biden had 15 months to do a deal and he didn’t get a deal done. Trump got that done. So it’s the Trump effect. I use that phrase, the golden era, a lot, but it’s also the Trump effect. And I hope his message is going to be, and I hope he says it. We’ve got to roll up our sleeves. He’s inheriting a mess. Let’s not sugarcoat it. Biden is leaving him. Biden is leaving him with a dumpster fire, Mark. Good way to put it. But if anybody’s capable of putting it out, it’s our McDonald’s fry cooker and our garbage truck driver. Exactly. And our chief firefighter, Donald J. Trump.
SPEAKER 12 :
I hope they drive that garbage truck out onto the floor of the arena today. We don’t get a parade. Please give us the garbage truck inside the arena. That’s hysterical.
SPEAKER 11 :
By the way, we’re going to be carrying the inauguration on our show because of the timing and all that. We’ve got some weird, funky times with our show and your show and my show. And we’re going to be live with the inauguration coverage here on 660 AM, The Answer. Can’t wait. I got a report that somebody from South Carolina, program director, said, did they move the swearing in to 1140? Have you seen that anywhere?
SPEAKER 12 :
No. It’s supposed to be noon, right? Oh, yeah. Straight up. I think that’s kind of the rules. 11 Central.
SPEAKER 11 :
Yeah. We’ll roll with the punches, and we’re going to keep it right here all day.
SPEAKER 12 :
And I can’t wait for tomorrow’s Eminem segment, because tomorrow’s Mike and Mark segment, we have a different president. Isn’t that crazy?
SPEAKER 11 :
I’m still pinching myself. I love it. Let us rejoice and be glad. It’s a big, big day. And I’m so glad. And you know what? I’m going to say finally, quick note personally. The only thing I missed last night was you. We would have had so much fun together. One of these days, we’ve got to do one of these epic events together because I was sending you pictures like a teenager. It was tremendous. I feel like I’m there. Well, I feel like you are there. Except I have feeling in my extremities. Yeah, yeah. And you’re not out $747. Exactly. Wait till the bosses get my expense account.
SPEAKER 12 :
He’s going to expense it.
SPEAKER 11 :
Oh, I’m going to turn it in. Of course he is. I’m going to turn it in. This may be my last day. Hey, I loved it. I loved the ride. I enjoyed working with you, Mark. Yeah, I’ll be out. Chris DeGaulle will be doing middays. It may be the last Mike Gallagher show, but we’re going to make it a good one.
