Oh, worked. That was a good Friday. Yeah, that was a good Friday. Just slaving away.

It’s good to have a job, bro. It is. I love having a job. Dude, I’ve seen so many people complain about a job and complain about their boss, complain about their work, and then get fired. And before you know it, it’s like, oh, I don’t have a job, bro.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah, yeah. People are all, thank God it’s Friday. Oh, God, it’s Monday. They don’t want to go to work then, man.
SPEAKER 05 :
Right? No, that’s so true, man. Oh, they’re so glad they get the weekend off. Monday is right around the corner, bro. You’re going to be at your job in 48 hours. It’s time to lace them boots up, bro.

So what are you going to do for Easter, man? You know, man, I honestly really don’t celebrate a lot of holidays and stuff. Well, because the wife works at Broken Shovels Farm Sanctuary, which is up in Commerce City. That’s where I live.
SPEAKER 05 :
That’s in Commerce City?
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah. Well, Henderson, Thornton.
SPEAKER 05 :
Yeah, I thought it was Thornton. Yeah, I got mixed up. Okay, go ahead.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah, so she’s always working, man. So anytime there’s a holiday, it makes all the sense to get people to come out and donate, see the animals, and they just get to enjoy their day.
SPEAKER 05 :
So how many animals do you think would be on the farm?
SPEAKER 04 :
Oh, right now? Yeah. There’s probably about 500.
SPEAKER 1 :
500?
SPEAKER 04 :
And she’s taking care of them by herself? Yeah, man. It’s like Noah’s Ark out there. Because it does. It floods sometimes. So do you open it up to the public and they come out? Absolutely. There’s like $10 Saturdays or Sundays, and it fills up with hundreds of people, sometimes 1,000 people.
SPEAKER 05 :
Wow. I did not know that.
SPEAKER 04 :
You didn’t? No. I didn’t know we could pay to come out. So is there a lot of animals you could pet and feed? Oh, yeah. Absolutely. There’s, let’s see, alpaca, llama, turkey, duck, chicken, pig, cow. There’s water buffalo. Okay. I’m telling you, these water buffaloes. You got attacked by one, bro? I did. Well, I don’t like to share that, but yeah, I got beat up by a water buffalo. His name’s Gandalf. So how did that go down? Well, let me back up. Let me back up. So Gandalf and Dobby, they were part of the prison system first. I know that sounds funny.
SPEAKER 05 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 04 :
But, yeah, there was a program down in Canyon City, and the prisoners would milk and take care of all these water buffalo. They’d milk them and make cheese. for the prison well for people to eat probably i don’t think the prisoners got water buffalo uh um cheese buffalo mozzarella i don’t think no no but no i’m saying the prisoners milked them they did yeah indeed indeed and uh so um that fast forward us to them being at the farm because they shut down that program at the prison after years of being open or a decade of being open and a hundred water buffalo needed to go somewhere And so like seven of them ended up at my house. And so, man, and yeah, one day I tried to help, thought that I was going to be the man and help out and get the water buffalo back in their pen. And one of them, he just, he laid into it. Dude, I was crying, man. And I’m a black belt. I should be able to defend myself. I was terrified. You need to get your money back. I felt like them kids when they were calling Elijah, where they were like, go up, you bald head, and he sent that bear after him. Yeah.
SPEAKER 05 :
So, I mean, we were talking about Good Friday, but now that you brought up your farm, I just started wondering. Yeah. With all the animals nowadays, you know, they seem to be finding new species. Do you think God created new animals as time went on? As in, like, evolution? No, no, no. From when God sent the animals into the ark to today, you know, what, 2,000 years, maybe even six or whatever. Do you think he put new animals on the earth as he seemed like, oh, man, this seems like a good idea?
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah. I don’t think so. I think there was creation, and then at the flood, there was loss of animals that didn’t make it, which are like dinosaur and stuff. They didn’t make it past the flood. Do you think there were more animals created after?
SPEAKER 05 :
Yeah, I think so. Like today, would he create a new animal?
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah, I think so.
SPEAKER 05 :
I think God’s into creation. I think God’s into creating. He created the earth. He created the moon, the stars, the skies. So, I mean, if he’s always into creating something, I’m thinking he’s still creating something.
SPEAKER 04 :
Well, the funny thing is there is like animal kind, right? There is equine, bovine, canine, feline, all of that stuff, right?
SPEAKER 05 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 04 :
Well, you can mix a cat with a cat and get like some crazy cat. You can’t mix a cat with a dog and get a cat dog. No. And you can’t mix a horse with something else. It has to be equine. You can mix a horse with a burrow and get a mule, but the seed won’t produce. It won’t become something.
SPEAKER 05 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 04 :
So the point I’m making there is that there’s not much new creation outside of those kinds of animals that have already been created. Yeah. which take it all the way back to adam um he didn’t have to name every single animal it wasn’t like um uh like how many dogs can you name type of dogs oh you know probably 50 so name like five dogs right now you know uh cocker spaniel yorkie labrador um british bulldog so when all five of those animals saw um when they came up and saw uh adam adam was just like canine they’re all canine canine into the boat yeah so you didn’t have to say nothing man so yeah that’s a good theory though and so as time went on you saw the canine and then you think humans started naming the other different species Well, human beings try to manipulate, you know, like animals and plants and species and all that kind of stuff, but they can’t succeed in trying to mix one with the other. You can’t go outside of the kind.

Oh, Leviathan is a sea creature. It’s kind of like, well, wait, yeah, there’s Leviathan, sea creature that would be like Loch Ness Monster.

But that’s fake.

No, it’s real.

In Job, well… The Loch Ness Monster itself in history is not real.

No way. Yeah, it’s fake. I bet it could be. It could be. Because there are probably some species of animal that survived the flood and then kind of…

regenerated man like you know what i mean so yeah so what what is the leviathan what is that massive creature the lord’s talking about that you know yeah because it cuts it gots like a like an eerie weary you know yeah feel to it when you say it’s like the leviathan Yeah. What is that in the deep ocean?
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah. I’m certain Leviathan is what we know as Loch Ness Monster. I’m telling you. I know you don’t. Well, the other thing, what’s the other thing the Lord talks about in the book of Job? Unicorn? Yeah. He says unicorn. Unicorn. also says uh um dragon i don’t know if he actually says if it says dragon it says uh um like scales that are like shields pressed together so much that you can’t pierce a knife through them and breath of fire so i yes i mean that makes me wonder so when the distinction of um the animals after the flood you think that was part of a dragon
SPEAKER 05 :
Do you think they were around with dinosaurs?
SPEAKER 04 :
Do you think an animal actually breathed fire? I think that there’s a lot to do with history and people talking about dragons in medieval times. I think there might very well have been dragons in medieval times because the Bible speaks of it in Job times.
SPEAKER 05 :
Yeah, because I know that chickens nowadays are pretty historic to dinosaurs themselves. I’m like, I’m looking at this chicken, I’m like, really?
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah. I mean, you know, but the form of the chicken is a… And I’m glad you’re touching on that because I think new studies have come out in the scientific community with regard to dinosaurs and that they might be wrong. They’re not scaled like lizards. They’re rather feathered like chickens.
SPEAKER 05 :
Really? Yeah. So they think dinosaurs had feathers? Yeah. I mean, who would want to run across Tyrek?
SPEAKER 04 :
The chicken-a-saurus. Rooster Rex.
SPEAKER 05 :
Rooster Rex. So what kind of animals on the farm are actually, you know, the worst ones to take care of?
SPEAKER 04 :
Oh, wow. Wow, that’s a good question. They all poop. So you’ve got to take care of all that. So that’s two things they do, an animal and a human. As long as they’re eating and they’re going to the bathroom, most of the time they’re alive. Yeah, right.
SPEAKER 05 :
Because you have no monkeys out there.
SPEAKER 04 :
No, I wish we had a monkey. I’m just dying to go see one. I like monkeys. Oh, yeah, I really like monkeys. Are you going to come out to the farm?
SPEAKER 05 :
Yeah, I’m thinking I’m going to.
SPEAKER 04 :
You could be the first monkey at the farm.
SPEAKER 05 :
Yeah, because I went to the zoo. In Colorado Springs. Oh. You know, the one where you get to see… Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. Man, I think that’s it. I’m not sure.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah, that’s actually… That’s a really good zoo.
SPEAKER 05 :
But I hated it every moment of it because it’s kind of uphill. You know? So I had to get a ride up and down the mountain. Yeah. And I think… So the location is really bad for that zoo itself. Yeah. I mean, I wish they would have put… Why’d you got to get a ride up there? Because it was on the side of a mountain. So you had to walk uphill a lot. Okay. And I… So I had to have… Knee replacement. No, I had my ACL repaired. What were you doing, man?
SPEAKER 04 :
Playing football. No way.
SPEAKER 05 :
Not stretching and went out, you know, 40 years old thinking he could play ball at the park still and…
SPEAKER 04 :
We got a mutual friend who also thought he could ride one of them Lime scooters. And at 40 had to replace a hip. Hit a bump. This guy is litigious, man. He’s so sue happy. He always tries to blame everything that happens to him.
SPEAKER 05 :
So you try to get a lawsuit against the scooter company for your, you know.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah. That is funny. That went over like a lead balloon. Right? Yeah, man. So the farm’s a good place.
SPEAKER 05 :
Oh, but what I was trying to say is, so I went out to the Cheyenne Zoo, and I really enjoyed petting the giraffes. I mean, that was so much fun giving them lettuce. And so, I mean, I just come see the llamas. You could feed them out of your hand, right?
SPEAKER 04 :
Well, yeah, you could feed them. The llamas, the alpacas, they’re a little standoffish. Like, they’ll give you a side eye and look at you, and then they’ll kind of gulp and they’ll spit at you.
SPEAKER 05 :
Really?
SPEAKER 04 :
They’ll spit, yeah. But some of them are nice enough that they’ll take stuff from your hand. And so usually when people come in to the farm, there’s things like carrots and apples and stuff like that that people get to hand to the animals.
SPEAKER 05 :
Oh, really? That’s got to be a lot of work. And so your wife’s the only one who takes care of it.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 05 :
So she picks up all the doo-doo by herself.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah. I mean, they got tractors and stuff like that, man. So she drives a tractor? Every morning. Yeah. My wife’s a farmer, bro. Wow. So, yeah, so the day starts out like 6 a.m., got to go out, feed the animals, make sure that everybody’s fine, then water the animals, then take a midday break, take a siesta for like two hours, and then you go back out and do that again. And when you do that with 500 animals, it takes a long time to check on everybody, feed everybody.
SPEAKER 05 :
I mean, I wonder if she would get a, if she would become an animal surgeon.
SPEAKER 04 :
Um, originally she wanted to be a vet, like a veterinarian, but she just didn’t want to cause she found that most veterinarians have to euthanize animals a lot. You got them hard decisions.
SPEAKER 05 :
Oh yeah, for sure.
SPEAKER 04 :
You know, which that’s, that’s, that’s a topic in and of itself.
SPEAKER 05 :
So if the animal needs help, you have to call somebody out to help.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah, and they got on-staff veterinarians that help, but a lot of times they go up to CSU. So you’ve got to pack up like an animal, like a big pig or an alpaca, and take them up to CSU.
SPEAKER 05 :
Really?
SPEAKER 04 :
Mm-hmm, their veterinarian program up there. It works out. They’ve done a lot for the farm, and the farm spent a lot of money with them. so how did your how did your wife end up with the job itself oh that’s crazy um her friend her friend uh heather ariano she used to go to kennedy with us um uh like my wife had gotten laid off and she was without a job for like a year or two and then uh her friend heather was like hey there’s this place that’s like a goat dairy and you might want to go out there and work. But my wife was like all prim and proper and her hair’s done and her clothes are nice. She had nice nails all the time. And she went out and she applied for the job, and Andrea was like, I don’t know if this is going to work out, you milking goats. And my wife loved it so much, and she just stuck in there for like 10 years, man. She’s been like the right-hand woman ever.
SPEAKER 05 :
Oh, so her boss is working with her on the job?
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah, yeah. Andrea is the showrunner and my wife is second in command.
SPEAKER 05 :
Oh, so your wife is probably a vegan. Oh, they’re all vegan.
SPEAKER 04 :
I know.
SPEAKER 05 :
Because if you don’t like to put animals, you know, to rest, then you’d probably not want to eat them also.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah, and that’s really what it comes down to is as much as they’ve been experiencing with the animals, the joys, the pain, the loss, and all that stuff, they started empathizing and sympathizing more with them. Which is funny because, dude, I think that in heaven we’ll probably be vegan, man.
SPEAKER 05 :
Oh, no, the Lord’s feeding me some meat.
SPEAKER 04 :
He said he’ll give me my heart’s desires. I love me a steak. No, but I’m thinking they probably would be vegan. No, I’m eating some lamb. Well, that’s a good tie back because it is about the lamb, man. It’s about the, you know, the.
SPEAKER 05 :
I mean, when the Lord’s Supper comes around, I’m getting, you know. Double portion.
SPEAKER 04 :
I’m getting two plates, bro. You know? Well, but, I mean, you have to think about it. Was there any bloodshed in Eden? In Eden? Was there any bloodshed in Eden?
SPEAKER 05 :
No? In the Garden of Eden?
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah, in the Garden of Eden.
SPEAKER 05 :
Man, I think maybe they might have been just eating plants. They were only eating plants. Yeah, I think so. Absolutely.
SPEAKER 04 :
Apples. Absolutely.
SPEAKER 05 :
No, wait, that’s not true. It doesn’t say he ate an apple. I think it says just a fruit. Yeah, just a fruit, like a pear or an apple.
SPEAKER 04 :
But the thing was, yes. So what do you think about the Apple iPhone having the fruit in them? Oh, the bit out fruit? Yeah, what do you think about that? Um, I, I honestly, I like to look at things through a God perspective, um, and see that it’s, it’s kind of nice to have. Okay. So like, you know how Jesus said that if, if, uh, if people wouldn’t have praised him or if people wouldn’t have, uh, saying praises that the rocks and the trees would cry out. Well, I think what happens is whether in pretense or in truth, the gospel is preached. So when somebody unwittingly creates the apple with the bite out of it as as a nod to or a joke about.
SPEAKER 05 :
the bible then i think well have you read they’re still preaching the gospel have you read online about any consensus about what it actually means what the the apple and the bite of the apple yeah no huh oh so you haven’t you haven’t even looked into it no i lay it on me tell no i was asking you i just heard i just you know the grapevine word through the grapevine somebody brought it up that you know that you’ll be on your phone some type of conspiracy as though it’s like yeah that you’ll be on the phone more than seeking the lord that when he comes you’ll be too busy ah that it is the forbidden fruit yeah phones are yeah i mean there’s so much sin on the phone there’s just so much to get into i mean you turn on the wrong page and you might be looking at the wrong things
SPEAKER 04 :
oh yeah or lead you down the wrong road or simply what is it um uh we’ll be we’ll be uh held accountable for every idle word we speak and everything that we didn’t do or like an unjust steward you know yeah so and that makes me want so because we are idle when we’re when we have the phone man we’re idle we ain’t engaging with people
SPEAKER 05 :
I know it says, you know, you’re saved through grace by faith and not of yourself. So why do I always have the feeling that if I don’t do enough, I won’t make it if I don’t work enough for the kingdom?
SPEAKER 04 :
Oh, yeah, you got it. I think that’s pretty deep into the psyche through religion that has impressed upon us that we need to be legalistic. Well, I brought that up. Can I add something to it before you answer?
SPEAKER 05 :
Because I forgot I said grace through faith, but faith without works is dead. So if you’re saying through grace by faith, but faith without works is dead. So if you’re not doing any works, your faith has to be dead. And how can you be saved by grace without faith?
SPEAKER 04 :
Right.
SPEAKER 05 :
That’s what I meant.
SPEAKER 04 :
Well, I mean, yeah, the actions and the words and the fruit of our labor and all of that stuff should exude how we are being worked on and perfected in our spirit by Christ, by the Holy Spirit. Yeah. But we can’t earn it. It can’t be earned. Yeah, I see. That’s what I’m struggling with. It’s unmerited grace, but…
SPEAKER 05 :
Because I got the two scriptures just in my head nonstop. It’s like, I’m saved through grace by faith. But then on the other hand, wait, I’m not doing it. Wait, is my faith alive? Is it dead? I’m struggling with that all the time.
SPEAKER 04 :
No, the thing is just making sure that it’s like knowledge, right? Knowledge isn’t power. It’s the application of knowledge that’s power. and so the same thing with like faith faith is powerful but it’s almost rendered powerless if we bury it if we don’t share it if we don’t promote it if we you know what i mean oh yeah yeah oh yeah yeah so so yeah when the holy ghost comes upon you you’ll become a witness yeah Yeah. And so sometimes the works that people do, it’s you end up not letting your left hand know what your right hand is doing and you give or you help or you do something like that. And God, like what you do in secret, God will reward you openly.
SPEAKER 05 :
Yeah, so I, you know, on church on Wednesday, my pastor brought up the, you know, because we read the Bible, you know, multiple times. Yeah, and so on Wednesday, he was talking about grace and mercy. And it just went over the top for me. It’s like, you know, you know about grace and mercy. But yeah, here it is, and he’s preaching it, and it’s just on a different level, right? And so he brought up a symbolism of the Old Testament to the New Testament. And I thought, how powerful. Like, I’ve read the Bible, you know, for what, 20, 30 years. Yeah. And this symbolism, I had no idea it was there. And it was so simple. Like, uh, in the old Testament, they made the, the arc of the covenant. Right. But on the arc of the covenant, there was two angels on each side, right? Cherub. Yeah, on the cherub. So, but when Jesus died in the New Testament, two angels were at his, one was at his head and one was at his feet.
SPEAKER 04 :
So they were showing the parallel of the Ark of the Covenant and Christ’s resurrection.
SPEAKER 05 :
And the blood being, I thought it was so amazing. Like my eyes just opened. I was like. are you serious bro all this time i read that and i didn’t even catch it like two angels on the ark of the covenant two angels were at the head and feet of jesus’s body yeah i thought it was amazing yeah remember uriah actually reached out and grabbed the ark of the covenant man and died david was mad david was mad at god he was mad oh you gotta like you gotta like that guy a whole lot bro Yeah, you got to like David a whole lot. I mean, first you get mad, right? And then you want to go eat the show bread, right? You want to just go in and take bread like it’s yours.
SPEAKER 04 :
But see, okay, so that’s why I like David as just an example, as an example of following Christ and God. That he wasn’t afraid to be bold and angry and sad and joyful and dance gleefully and all of these things, man. He was seen as a murderer and an adulterer and all of these things. But in all this light, he was always willing to humble himself. And had the right spirit towards God. Yeah. He had a heart after God’s own heart. Yeah, I mean, yeah, watch. So my sentiment is, because I’ve talked with you guys before about me getting angry and yelling at God. Yeah. And I’m not saying I’m David, but I’ve gotten angry and mad. But then God softens my heart, and then I kind of repent, and I’m sorry. But I go right back. But it’s a relationship, man. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER 05 :
So but I’ve learned over time, you know, over over, you know, 30 years time that getting angry is just a waste of time. You’ve got to know change is coming one way or the other, good or bad. So if you’re in a bad predicament today, change is going to come. right you can’t stay the same just like the problem came the problem’s gonna go away also this is true so that’s how so now it’s easier to accept when something bad comes I used to get mad if I lose a job like what am I gonna do but you know what God always provided a new job yep Jehovah Jireh Lord my provider yeah so and make sure that you know you do you cling to God in all the good and bad yeah right well they say that but the flesh the flesh gets a hold of you and before you know it You know, it’s got other, you know. This is true. It’s got other directions. This is true. You know what I’m saying?
SPEAKER 04 :
We just need to take the Lord’s direction. But that’s hard to do. Yeah. That’s really hard to do.
