Hard to believe, but Donald Trump has been in office for the second time, his second presidency, already for 100 days. And obviously, that’s the story that’s dominating the news right now. And people taking a critical look at how things are going during his first 100 days, a variety of different opinions, depending on which news media you’re looking at or reading. And so we’re going to talk about it on today’s edition of the National Crawford Roundtable. My name is Neil Boron, host of Neil Boron Live, heard Monday to Friday on WDCX Radio in Buffalo, New York. John Rush, the host of Rush to Reason, is vacationing somewhere in the world today, and I hope he’s having a good time. Bob Duco. joining me here, and Bob is the host of the Bob Duco Show on WMUZ in Detroit. So, Bob, it’s just you and I with an opportunity to talk about Donald Trump’s first 100 days. Grateful that you didn’t decide to go on vacation or I’d be all by myself. That wouldn’t be very much fun.
SPEAKER 02 :
Well, I’m going on vacation next week, though, so I don’t know what to tell you. Okay, be that way. I’ll take John’s. Well, John’s saving a chair for me in Bora Bora. And so I’ll take his chair then when I get there. So it is hard to believe it’s 100 days already. But, you know, I’ll tell you, Neil, one of the things I want to say, you mentioned the polls briefly. And I just kind of wanted to throw this out there. If you look at the headlines. The headlines suggest that Donald Trump’s first 100 days has been a dismal failure because his poll numbers are down so low. You’re seeing poll after poll where, you know, the Washington Post had a poll with 39 percent approval rating, lowest approval rating in the first 100 days for any president in 80 years. OK, ABC had a poll. It was or no, it was New York Times had a poll, 41 percent. So here’s Trump, 39, 40, 41 percent. And what’s amazing is if you look at these polls, the way to truly determine what the accurate polling of the president would be is to fairly and accurately represent the number of voters or supporters of that president. Now, Donald Trump had 50 percent, slightly more than 50 percent, of American voters vote for him, okay? Slightly more than 50%. What that means is if you truly do this accurately, you need to have 50% of the people in your poll having been Trump voters and 50% not being Trump voters, whether they were Kamala Harris or whether they were a third party or something like that. So the Trump versus non-Trump voters, 50-50. Look at every single one of those polls. You know what they’ll see? You’ll see is that the amount of Trump voters in the poll were 32%, 34%. The highest one I saw was 37%. That was the highest one. So on average, they had about 35%. of the people they surveyed were Trump voters. 65% in these polls on average were non-Trump voters. So this really skews the numbers when you see Trump getting 40%, 41%. You know what that tells me? That tells me that Trump got All of the Trump voters and even picked up some of the non-Trump voters by a few points. All right. So this is the media’s power to continue. Neil, I’m telling you, to manipulate the perception of a lot of Americans, make them feel like, oh, Trump is really failing dismally because it can create that perceived downward snowball effect. And so this is one of the reasons why they get called fake news and one of the reasons why I continually say we have a corrupt news media and they are manipulating public opinion. This is a classic example of how they’re doing it in these polls.
SPEAKER 03 :
It’s fascinating. I hadn’t seen that and appreciate you bringing it up. I was going to mention, obviously, that. One of the major stories you’re hearing right now is 100 days in Donald Trump’s poll numbers are down and, you know, a lot of negative feedback about these first 100 days. But maybe not so much if what you’re saying is absolutely true. And if you were talking to people who wanted him in office in the first place, you know, and looking at a fair number like 50 percent, then you’re going to get a different result for sure.
SPEAKER 02 :
Exactly. In America, what you have in this country right now, you know, the polls, the idea of the polls is to kind of take a pulse of what America’s thinking. OK, well, if half of America voted for Trump. then you need to ask, you know, half of your poll needs to be people who voted for Trump because that’s a true reflection of the American public, right? And if you got people that voted for Trump and they say, oh, after 100 days, I changed my mind. Okay, fine. Then those people can say, nope, I don’t think he’s doing a good job. And it becomes an accurate portrayal. But when you only have 34% of… Trump supporters in a country where you have 50 percent of Trump supporters and you got 65 percent of non-Trump voters and they’re representing supposedly half of America. That is manipulation. It just flat out is. And that’s what all the headlines read. And unfortunately, most people don’t know the information that I just shared right now. So they’re like, I don’t know. It looks like Trump is failing miserably. No, he’s not. If we didn’t have a corrupt media and they reported, honestly, the job that he’s doing in his first hundred days, if they reported the good and the bad equally, I’m telling you, his poll numbers would be in the 60s. I’m convinced of it. Right now, his true… approval rating is somewhere in the high 40s, 48, 49%. That’s about what his true approval rating is right now, which is not horrible for 100 days in, especially with a second term.

Interesting. You know, we’re going to dig into this. He’s president number 47. He also served as 45, of course. So, Bob, I’m going to go first just because I know that you’re going to throw me under the bus and want to push back on some of what I’m saying.

But, you know, I asked you to, like, identify a word or a phrase. And here’s mine. I gave it some real thought. And I’m going to say precarious progress. It’s kind of a strange term, maybe, but. At times, I feel like some of the things that we’ve seen have almost looked reckless. Now, I’m really talking more about perception than reality, per se, probably. But, I mean, there’s been a tremendous amount of accomplishment in these first hundred days, and arguably probably the most ever by any president in U.S. history. The amount of… you know a monumental change that’s occurred how lasting it is probably depends on where congress you know whether congress comes behind and passes laws to keep these executive orders you know enforced because the next president will just reverse them but no doubt tremendous amount of progress i’m a little concerned about the precarious nature of some of it you know like firing 10 000 people then hiring a thousand back or and you know if you look if you look at How, for instance, redevelopment of a property goes, you know, you’ve got like a major mall closes down because malls are closing down. The developer comes in. They don’t start work on the first day. They assess what they’ve got. You know, where where’s the power in here? Where’s the water? Can we change these into apartments? Would it even be legal to use utilize the second floor for this purpose of that? There’s assessment that goes on. when when you just walk into a government agency and fire 10 000 people and then have to hire some back it just feels reckless to me now is it i don’t know i guess that part’s up for argument’s sake but um there’s no doubt tremendous progress has been made and i’m by and large happy for that i’m concerned down the road though with the midterms coming i mean they’re coming uh people’s feelings matter and you know if people feel like hey this this government’s out of control donald trump is a loose cannon and you know who is this elon musk guy why is he here what’s happening and i don’t want to just focus on doge there’s so many other things that have been accomplished but I’m just going to go with precarious progress, with the emphasis on progress. There’s no question a lot of progress has been made, but I’m a little tentative, so I threw the word precarious in there. What are your general feelings about the first 100 days?
SPEAKER 02 :
Well, I wouldn’t put the word precarious in there, but I would put against the wind. I think he’s had progress against the wind. And, you know, does that mean that everything Donald Trump does is perfect? No, of course not. All right. But, you know, I don’t I don’t see a problem with like, for example, the example you gave. All right. Fire 10,000 people. And then right now we need to hire a thousand back. Well, you know what? You’re getting rid of the wrong people. And if there’s some people that’s like, OK, well, maybe they’re going to be better this time or they prove themselves that are worthy to come back or you replace them with people that are better or more qualified, then so be it. The fact is the government should not be the number one largest employer in America. OK, it shouldn’t be. But this has been the Democrat philosophy of let’s just explode the size of government. And it’s amazing. Donald Trump comes in and says, we’re going to reduce the governmental workforce. And everybody’s like, oh, look how crazy that is. But why didn’t anybody say to Joe Biden, hey, it’s crazy for you to be exploding the government workforce the way that you are? You know, I mean, if Trump tells people you got to get back into the office, you can’t just be working at home, get back into the office where you belong. And you got a bunch of people that say, OK, no, I don’t want to do that. And they allow job losses to happen through attrition. I’m good with that. But I just you know, when I talk about the headwinds that he’s up against, think about Think about the lies that are repeatedly told about him. The kind of stuff that the Democrats are saying, that the entertainment world continues to say, claiming that he’s, you know, what you had Michelle Obama just the other day say, Donald Trump’s immigration policies keep me up at night because I worry about my daughters. I worry about – she’s worried about her daughters getting deported. Give me a break. Are your daughters illegal aliens? But the thing is Donald Trump, he’s not even prioritizing illegal immigrants that are here and are not committing additional crimes. He’s prioritizing those that are committing additional crimes. By the way, you want to worry about your daughters? Worry about your daughters being the victim of a crime from an illegal alien that Trump is trying to get out of the country and you’re trying to keep in the country. OK, this Garcia guy, MS-13. Oh, rather than the press focusing on The border crossings are down 96%, okay? Trump has closed the border. 96% reduction in border crossings. You know what that also means? That also means a 96% reduction in the amount of drug dealers coming over this country, in the amount of MS-13 gang members and Islamic jihadists coming over and rapists and murderers coming over.

Human traffickers, yep.
SPEAKER 02 :
Yeah, human traffickers. So here’s an idea. How about focus on that? Instead, the press and the Democrats, they say, we’re going to ignore all that and let’s just zero in focus on this Kilmar Abrega-Garcia guy. And, you know, should he have got his due process before being sent back to El Salvador? No, we need to, quote, bring him home. The USA was never his home. He is home in El Salvador. So these are some major, major headwinds that Trump is running up against. And still, you he’s managing to get a lot of things done. He is managing to get countries to come to the table now and renegotiate trade deals. He is challenging China in a way that no presidents have been willing to do before. All right. He is pushing to make the tax cuts permanent, which is a big deal. All right. He is slashing regulations in this country. One in for every 10 out regulations, right? This is good. He is putting school choice in this country on steroids. He is opening up our natural resources and certainly cleaning out fraud, hundreds of billions of dollars of fraud and waste in the government. These are really, really good things that need to be done, securing the border on top of it all. I think he’s to be applauded for this and to do this while running up the down escalator into a torrential wind of dishonest media and dishonest Democrats and constant negativity against him. I mean, you know, Neil, Media Research Center did a survey of his first 100 days, a study, ABC, NBC and CBS News. which have by far the largest audience of anybody gathering news in the entire country, ABC, NBC, and CBS, everything that they reported about Donald Trump was 92.2% negative. 92.2% negative in his first 100 days. However, Joe Biden’s first 100 days was 59% positive. That’s what Trump is up against.
SPEAKER 03 :
It’s unbelievable how the mainstream media works. And I think it’s clear that Donald Trump would not have been elected without alternative media and social media, Truth Social and other things that allow… Podcasting, for instance, the Joe Rogans of the world that allow… conversations for things you would not see from the mainstream media. By the way, the one thing the mainstream media has in some ways, they can’t escape it, but they’ve focused on in a positive way for Trump, I think, is the closing of the border. Now, you mentioned Michelle Obama and are my kids going to be deported? So deportation is sort of the second half of that argument. But by and large, even liberals were concerned to some degree about the open borders. Yes, there was the AOC kind of people that just want everybody in our country. But I’m talking about hardworking Americans that locked their doors at night, that were concerned about the fact that people were coming from all over the world, No, no effort to stop him at the border during the Biden administration. Fifteen ish million people in our country. We don’t know who these people are, whether they’re criminals actively or have been in the past. OK, closing the border. High marks across the board. The mass deportation part. Maybe the jury’s still out on that. And I don’t know what your thoughts are about that. that aspect of it. But I don’t know that there’s a clean or precise way to do it. I think we’re kind of learning as we go. I’m just glad that we’re getting criminals out of our country.
SPEAKER 02 :
You know, it just it amazes me that people get hung up even on terms like mass deportation. OK, if you have mass illegal immigration, the response to that is mass deportation. OK, if you have mass crimes, then there need to be mass arrests. So this this notion that, oh, Donald Trump is just on a mass deporting binge or what? OK, first of all, everybody that’s over here illegally is not entitled to stay. They need to go home and then come back through legal means and then we can welcome them as long as they get vetted properly. But this is what I have to stress. I said it before and I’ll say it again. Donald Trump is not even prioritizing Consuela with her two children that’s over here illegally and is not committing any additional crimes. Trump is flat out saying, I’m not thinking about her right now, okay? What I’m thinking about are the Trendy Aragua gang members, the MS-13 gang members. These are the ones I’m thinking about. But, you know, there’s another issue here, Neil, I got to bring up about the due process thing. And it’s something that I haven’t seen enough people talking about, okay? Well, we can’t invoke the 1798 law and send them out of this country without the quote-unquote due process, because after all, you know, that’s just not right. How are you going to give a trial to 15 million people in four years? You can’t give a trial to 15 million people in 40 years. All right. So it does seem to me that if you have Joe Biden with open borders and you allow 10 to 20 million people into this country illegally, that at a minimum, we have to give some flexibility and say, OK, let’s at least gather up the MS-13 gang members, the Trend de Aragua, the drug dealers, the human traffickers. Let’s at least gather these people up. and send them back to their country of origin, don’t pass go, don’t collect 200, and not bog down the courts with trial dates for them so that we do leave the courts open for the people who aren’t the gang members and the criminals to have their day in court, all right? Trump has given them due process, but when we got to give due process to everybody, including the criminals… To me, that is that’s illogical. It’s not possible. And I think the Democrat strategy here is let’s get some left wing judges to block all of these efforts so that these 15 million people stay here in America. The Garcia’s have to stay here in American prisons and then we won’t get just a tiny fraction of them. having trials before Trump is finally out of here in four years. Then some Democrat comes in and gives amnesty for the other 99 percent of the millions of illegals that are here. I think that’s a Democrat long strategy personally. It’s kind of cynical, but that’s what I think they’re doing.
SPEAKER 03 :
An issue that’s tied with the immigration question and illegal immigration, of course, but the whole concept of birthright citizenship and obviously talking about the courts, there’s going to be and there already are legal challenges related to his promise to end birthright citizenship. But I’m sure you’ve got something to say about that because, you know, what we’re talking about here is absolute abuse of a loophole in ways that were never intended, I believe, when the Constitution was written. Your thoughts about that?
SPEAKER 02 :
Absolutely. First of all, the birthright citizenship thing, this notion that if you come over here illegally and then you have a baby and so then your baby is automatically a citizen, that’s actually not in the Constitution. It’s nowhere in the Constitution. In 1868, here’s what happened. After slavery was ended, you had a lot of slaves that were in this country and they were born in this country. And the idea is, well, they should be entitled to citizenship because they were born in this country. And so, therefore, the 1868 birthright citizenship law that was passed, this was for slaves so that they could enjoy citizenship even though – because they were born in this country. Their parents were brought here illegally. They were brought here immorally through the slave trade thing. Now, in the 1920s – I think it was 1929 – Congress passed a law for Native Americans that are born here saying if you’re a Native American and you were born in this country, OK, then you automatically get citizenship. We’re giving you birthright citizenship. OK, why did that law pass in the 1920s? What was the purpose of that law if that’s an automatic thing that’s in the Constitution? No, we have always understood that you don’t automatically have citizenship in this country just because you happen to be born on this soil. That’s always been understood. And that’s the reason why there’s been a couple of times where Congress has passed a law to make sure in this particular case, yes, children of slaves. This particular case, yes, children of Native Americans. But now suddenly for the last few decades, Democrats have decided, nope, that’s a blanket that applies to everybody. Well, if it did, then what was the purpose of the 1868 law and what was the purpose of the 1929?

Our good friend John Rush of Rush to Reason, KLZ in Denver, vacationing. and unable to be with us today but we’re talking about donald trump’s first 100 days or in office during his second term here um both of us use the word progress in defining what we see i’m a little more on the precarious side like feeling like things um a little less smooth than i had you know we had hoped for in some of these cases but or caused confusion in some fashion um but progress i think is what i’m really wrapping my brain around Some of the things I desperately wanted to see happen, for instance, the closed border we just talked about, has happened immediately and tremendous results as a result of that. So I think by and large, many of the American people are happy. Bob, you mentioned earlier that some of the polls that the media is talking about, are not asking 50% of Trump voters and 50% of Kamala Harris voters to respond. They’re actually focusing more on people who didn’t want Trump in office, and that’s swaying some of the polls. So let’s keep that in mind. But let me ask you about this, because there’s a number of things that we could tie in here. Donald Trump made a number of promises like, hey, if I get elected, I’m going to end the war in Ukraine on day one. It’s going to be over. He said pretty much the same thing about Gaza. And then, of course, regarding the economy, there was a lot of people that cared about the border but also cared about the economy. And I think a lot of people thought back to his first term and they said, man, things were good when Donald Trump was in office. I want that kind of an economy again. So he said, we’re going to end inflation. The economy is going to turn around on day one. I’m taking care of it. Well, on those issues, the war in Ukraine, war in Gaza, the economy, things are not turned around. They may in the future. But I wondered what your thoughts are, given that Donald Trump promised. And by the way, now he said that I think what he was saying about Ukraine was basically it was said in jest. I mean, I was kind of kidding, but we understand that you probably can’t do that in a single day. And he does speak with a sense of hyperbole. But your thoughts, given that, you know, the war in Ukraine and Gaza continue and the economy continues. is a little iffy right now. A lot of people have experienced losses because of stocks and Wall Street and everything that’s happening there. Your thoughts on these things, Bob?
SPEAKER 02 :
Sure. Well, and as I give you my thoughts on these, I do want to mention one other thing about the polls as well, okay? Because when it comes to the economy, here’s a perfect example of this. A few weeks ago, when Donald Trump announced his tariffs, his original tariff announcement, and the stock market went down huge for the next couple of days, all right, and then for a few days went up a little bit, but it’ll still go down. So it’s, all right, that was bad economic news. Everybody gets that. But at the same time that was happening, there was some really positive economic news that came out. The March job numbers came out, and it turns out that the expectations were blown. It was expected to be 140,000 jobs created, and it was 228,000 jobs created. So this was really, really positive economic news. So you have some bad economic news and some positive economic news that happened at the same time, all right? So here’s what happened. I talked about Media Research Center and their tracking of this. ABC, NBC, and CBS, the morning and evening news shows, which have the lion’s share of disseminating news in America… Do you know what the ratio of reporting that they devoted to the negative economic news versus the positive economic news? Certainly it wasn’t one-to-one. You know that. It wasn’t two-to-one. It wasn’t five-to-one. It was 62-to-one. All right? 62-to-one focusing on the negative economic news that came out but ignoring the positive economic news that came out. So that’s what we’re up against. So with that said – Let me get to your question specifically. Yeah, Donald Trump does speak with hyperbole. Let’s not kid ourselves. When Trump was campaigning and he was like, I’m going to end the Ukraine war on day one, OK? I’m going to turn the economy around on day one, OK? Yeah. I think anybody who actually really believed that on January 20th, 2025, that the Ukraine war was going to come to an end is just being naive. OK, I knew then that Donald Trump was speaking with the kind of hyperbole that he tends to do, which I don’t agree with. All right. But still. I don’t think anybody realistically thought the Ukraine war was going to end on day one or that Gaza was going to be completely cleaned up and all the hostages out on day one or that the economy was going to turn around. Sometimes things like this, it is like turning a huge ship with a rudder, okay? You know, the Titanic movie, why aren’t they turning? Okay. OK, well, it does take time for these things to happen and it takes time for Trump’s economic policies to start taking effect as well. So I think people need to be patient here. There’s part of me that says while the media says 100 days has gone by and look, these three things aren’t fixed yet. Ukraine, Gaza and the economy. OK, OK. I look at this and say, it’s only been 100 days. Let’s give it some time, okay? The guy’s going to get this ship turned, and he’s doing it against unprecedented headwinds. Yes, I know he says things like, I’m going to get it fixed in day one. All right. I wish he wouldn’t say stuff like that because anybody who’s intellectually honest knows that’s not realistic. It wasn’t realistic when he was saying it. I think he knew that then. But I also think he needed to give people a sense of I am going to focus on these issues like a laser beam way more than anybody else is going to. And in that regard, I would say that’s true.

Yeah, and by the way, Bob said ship, S-H-I-P, like Peter, just in case you heard it wrong. Turn the ship around.

No. I’m pretty sure that I pronunciated my P in ship. Oh, you sure did.

Vessel, vessel. Okay, he’ll turn this vessel around. Diving for the dump button, not quite sure exactly what he’s talking about. That is not part of my normal vernacular. So, no, I would not. Of course. That’s too funny. You know what? Actually, Neil, I got to tell you a quick anecdote here. Just we can have a little lighthearted moment. I actually did. actually say the S word, the cuss word, S word on my show accidentally. And I had to dump myself. I hit that, had to hit the delay button on myself. Okay. And the reason I did that was not because I said it as part of, it’s not part of my language. Okay. It’s because I was doing a story about the city of Chicago. And when I said the city of Chicago, I just had a dyslexic moment. And I said the S-H-I-T-T-Y of sick-hago. So city of Chicago turned into shh of Chicago. And as soon as I said it and I realized it and I was like – and I sat down and I looked. I looked up at my engineer and he looked at me bug-eyed. All right, Bob, we’ve got a whole bunch of things here that we’ve discussed and more to go as we talk about Donald Trump’s first 100 days during his second term. in office. And you mentioned the word tariffs earlier. I don’t really want to focus on it per se because we did discuss the economy. But obviously, that plays a big role in where we go economically in the future. And there’s concerns about how this is going to play out in our relationship with other countries. I think China is a big part of it. But let me just say, I mentioned when I described my feeling about the first 100 days, I’m loving the progress, a little concerned about the precarious part, as I see it. you know, feeling a little bit reckless at times. Well, on the issue of tariffs, for instance, there was, hey, we’re going to do tariffs. Wait, no, we’re not going to do tariffs. Then we rolled out the, you know, the big whatever the big poster display here’s all the countries now now we’re going to do tariffs wait no now for 90 days we’re not going to do tariffs so the on again off again kind of feels like ready shoot aim um anyway obviously this is a big part of donald trump’s economic economic agenda and i think honestly china is a major factor in all this your thoughts bob
SPEAKER 02 :
Well, I think that the rolling back of some of the things that Trump has done, you can look at this in one of two ways. Remember I told you before that 59 percent of everything Joe Biden did was reported through a positive lens, 92.2 percent of everything Trump does through a negative lens. And this is a perfect example of this. If this were Joe Biden, what people would be saying and how the media would be covering this is, yes, he’s getting tough in these areas, but he’s also not so rigid that he’s not willing to compromise and back off on some things. And if he recognizes it’s causing too much economic upheaval, then, OK, he’s not going to be so stubborn that he’s not willing to say, all right, I’ll pull back a little bit here because I do want to give the economy some breathing room and such. OK, he would get that benefit of the doubt. Trump doesn’t get that. What Trump gets is, oh, so you’re doing this, now you’re doing that. Okay, you’re flip-flopping here, now you’re going to… So he can do this very same thing, but it can be looked at through a positive lens or a negative lens. I choose to look at it through the positive lens. Trump is doing something tough and necessary that needs to be done. He doesn’t have that long to do it, okay? Because if he does the tariffs around the world, then you know what’s going to happen? If he waits too long into his presidency, China… And other countries are going to say, well, we’ll just wait him out until he’s gone. But at this point, they’re like, well, we can’t wait him out for four years. So I understand he’s got to do something quickly. But the thing here, the main issue is China. OK, Trump is basically gaining leverage and he’s using the rest of the world to triangulate, if you will, against China. Because here’s the thing. China, they need us. They need the American consumer. They need our markets. OK, and we need them. We need the Chinese consumer, the Chinese market. But China needs us way more than we need them. So by Trump doing these worldwide tariffs, he’s forcing a bunch of other countries like India, Vietnam, Japan and others to come to the negotiating table. and say, all right, we’re willing to renegotiate trade deals with the US and open up our markets more. So if this works, and I think it will work, then what will happen is when the dust settles, like a year from now, for example, when the dust settles, we’re going to have better trade deals, not with every country in the world, but with many countries in the world. And that means that we’re going to be able, our businesses are going to be able to tap into those markets in a much greater way than we are right now. which means we depend on China even less. The idea is for Trump to say to China, watch me, I’m going to replace your markets with other markets around the world, and we’re going to need you even less. But China is going to continue to need us even more. So I think this is a thing where, yes, when you rip a Band-Aid off, you feel some pain. And we are feeling some pain right now. The GDP shrunk up 0.3%. Okay, so we are feeling some pain right now. But I really believe that this is short-term pain for long-term gain. And America is going to be in a way, way better position a year from now. Ten years from now, we’re going to be in a way better position. And American businesses are going to be way stronger and way more profitable because we’re able to tap into more markets than we have been before. And we don’t need to depend on China as much. That’s my honest take on this whole thing, Neil.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah, and I’m a fan of energy independence. I’m a fan of bringing manufacturing back to the U.S. and stuff. But let me ask about the mom who’s shopping at the grocery store and needs to buy eggs or whatever. Short-term versus long-term, there are a lot of people feeling pain right now about the cost of living. And is this going to turn around in your estimation? Can he turn this around quick enough? to save the House or the Senate or both in the midterm elections, because honestly, he doesn’t have four years to make this happen. He’s got less than a year and a half. Right.
SPEAKER 02 :
He does. And I believe that that’s one of the reasons why also he’s making all of these moves this quickly, because he knows that 2026 is an election year. He knows that. So it’s like we’ve got to get this done now. And so if you’re going to cause pain, short-term pain, if you’re going to rip off the gauze, do it right now so that we’re starting to see the recovery of it in 2026. And to me, I think that that’s smart. Yeah, I get that mom shopping for eggs, okay? That’s difficult. We don’t like seeing the price of anything going up. But in all fairness, we’re not seeing the explosion in inflation that we were told was going to be happening anyway. I mean, actually, inflation is, for the most part, staying somewhat stagnant. It’s not going down, but at least it’s not shooting way up either, which is a good thing. We got to remember, when Joe Biden got in office, does anybody remember that in just a few months, inflation had already hit 9%? When Trump left office and handed the keys to Joe Biden, inflation in America was 1.4%. After just a few months, it was 9% in America. That’s what Joe Biden did in his first few months. Donald Trump is instituting a lot of taking a sledgehammer to the cement structure of the way we do things, especially in trade around the world. He’s doing that, yet still being able to keep inflation from shooting up, but it’s also not going down. So my thing is, give it some time. It Yes, it’s it’s been very tight for the last four years. Let’s take a few more months of it being tight. And I think we’re going to start to see this ship turn. That’s right. I’m popping my peas now. Let me take off my mic screen. If I take off my mic screen ship there. OK, now my peas popped. All right. So, yes, Neil, that is my that is my honest opinion.
SPEAKER 03 :

Well, I do too. Look, this is what – once again, it’s amazing, OK? If Elon Musk says we’re going to cut – well, actually, he stated that his goal was $1 trillion in cuts before he left. And he was never going to be in this position for a long time. From the very beginning, it was supposed to be 120 days that he was supposed to be in this. And actually – The law even says if you have a non-government employee basically contracting as Elon Musk is doing, that they’re only allowed to work for 120 days before you put them on the payroll. And so from day one, this was only allowed to be a 120-day job for him. But, you know, if he says my goal is a trillion dollars – And he’s got so far $155 billion that has actually been cut and close to a trillion dollars that is scheduled to be cut and trimmed back. You know, we can do this one of two ways. We can either focus on the failure of it. Well, he’s getting ready to leave and it’s not a trillion dollars yet. Okay. Or we can say, wow, look at how aggressive the vision was and look at at least how much he did get done. I choose to look at it that way. And so this is waste management. that is being trimmed. That’s a necessary thing. We need to get people off the Social Security rolls that are 160 years old and whatever. So this cleanup needs to happen. And I’m glad to see that somebody is doing it. And I’m glad Trump is doing it through Elon Musk.

Anyway, your thoughts about that? I mean, those were bold moves that he made with no questions asked. I’m doing this, and he did it.

As Christians, we should totally be applauding him for this. We absolutely should. Yeah, you talk about letting yourself be a lightning rod on behalf of born-again Christians, conservatives, families, pro-lifers, everybody else. I’m thankful to see that Trump has been willing to do that, to stand up for women in women’s sports, to try to protect those girls in the bathrooms or locker rooms from being exposed to some man coming in there. Yeah. So this is a really good and positive thing that Trump has done. He’s been willing to take these issues on. And by the way, I appreciate what he did the entire Easter week, okay, that entire Holy Week, the statements that he put out as president declaring publicly from the White House, Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior, putting in capital letters, He is risen. And, you know, regardless of what you may think about what’s really in Donald Trump’s heart, okay, that’s between him and God. But you know something? He was officially willing to say, this is a statement of the president of the United States, the leader of the free world, the White House of the United States is declaring publicly Jesus Christ is Lord and he is risen. And you know something? I think we ought to applaud him for that.

Amen. It’s a different day under Donald Trump. No questions asked. I mean, it was a seismic shift when he was reelected president. Yeah. I’m thrilled about so many of the things that have happened thus far. I don’t agree with everything, but I’m certainly thrilled by some of the things that have occurred in these first 100 days.
