See, that’s what I don’t understand, man. I don’t know if it’s because we’re older and we can see what’s coming and we know what we’ve been through and so everything goes faster. Or if it’s like end-of-world things like end-time stuff that’s speeding up. I don’t know what the difference is.

Yeah, I think also when you do take on more responsibilities, then yeah, absolutely, you’re faced with less time. But there’s people who are old and don’t have any responsibility at all. Wake up, play golf.

Man, okay, so let me ask you guys this question. We’re going to get into the topic. If you could retire right now, would you want to? Absolutely.

See, no, I don’t know. It’s a catch-22. Because if I had a ton of money, right? Because you see these old people that are famous, that have tons of money, that want to retire, but yet they’re going and doing something else because you’ll get bored. You know what I’m saying? You’d have to still find a hobby. You’d have to find something else to do to keep your time.

Well, wealth is mathematical. So if it cost me $3,000 a month to live right now, then if I had $30,000, I could live for 10 months. Okay. If I had $300,000, I could live for, what, 100 months? Yeah. Yeah. uh, without changing lifestyle. So, so, so that’s the thing about like wealth. Wealth is a mathematical, you can equate it. So if I had $3 million, I could live a long time.

Right. Well, I mean, I wanted to answer the question, but it comes to mind seeing these professional athletes blow through $100 million. I’m like, dude, that’s not enough to retire with. That’s not enough to finish your life off with.

This is a double-sided coin because if you work for the union, it’s a lot stricter. I just thought about it and I was like, man, if you go into a meeting, they’ll give you You can call for a representation to be with you in the meeting.

No, this being an at-will state, they could give you a reduction in force and you go back to the hall. So there’s no reason. If you get laid off to get fired, that’s a different story.

No, that’s what I’m saying. Oh, so instead of firing you, an employer will lay you off like they’re firing you so it won’t look as bad?

No, it makes a difference with your unemployment if you’re going to collect unemployment. if you quit, your benefits are different than if you get laid off.

Well, that’s what I was going to say. Colorado’s an at-will state, so it favors the business owner, so they can pretty much fire you whenever. But did you also know you can quit whenever you want? You can just tell that company, kiss my backside, and you can walk out.

Well, the thing is not only at-will state, but it’s a right-to-work state. It’s not a right-to-work state. No, it is.

Do you believe that a company or an organization should ever blackball… like an employee like let’s say they want to progress and go forward and they’re a good worker and they’re like hey i’m giving you my two-week notice do you think that company should ever like when the other company calls up like hey how did they do be like no they were a horrible worker just do that it’s illegal to do that it is illegal gotcha gotcha you can only ask for references um you can’t really ask about performance actually you can ask the question will i hire them again Yeah. Well, you know what I’m saying? But I mean, what’s the point of even having references? I mean, why does the new company a person is going to work for even want to know what kind of employee this person was? I mean, my supervisor may very well undercover may not have liked me and I don’t know what he’s telling the new company. He may very well be like, ah, I don’t know about this guy, man.

See, here’s the thing, though. It’s in the words. So if you ask, how long were they there? And you ask, would you hire them again? The answer that you get there is very poignant. It matters. If they say they would hire them again, well, they’re a good worker. If they say they wouldn’t, they’re not a good worker. Or you just didn’t like that person. Yeah.

I want to know what’s the biggest difference from working with the union and not having the union from getting fired. So working with the union protects you more, right?

Well, it’s not about, it’s really not about protection for having or not having your job. But they negotiate wages. And they negotiate benefits. So it’s not about, if you’re an underperformer, should you get fired?

That’s a good question. That’s a very good question. If you’re a lazy underperformer, should you get fired?

Because the union shouldn’t protect you just because you’re a union and you’re an underperformer. You should get fired if you’re not doing what’s necessary.

But doesn’t that come down? Isn’t that about a person? Because what makes a person lazy? Is it their mental state?

choice choice that’s a good that’s a good response i think mindset and habit so you think habit you think choice but i think a lot has to do with you know it’s been a curse you know you were cursed to till the ground that’s what happened adam so when he messed up the lord put a curse on him to till the ground for the Rest of his days. So they should be lazy? No, I think it’s just a curse and you hate it. I mean, you hate laboring so much. I mean, if you got a hard job, I mean, you don’t want to go to it.

Uh… Man, it just depends on how much crying and whining you want to hear from people in general, I guess. It depends on what happens these four years. If he’s doing a great job and everybody else is kind of sucking, why not? Why change?

Yeah, if he’s doing a good job, regardless if you’re Republican or Democrat, then yeah, he should. But, I mean, I think… Yeah, I don’t think he should get eight years just like every other president. He already did four. He should only get four more.

It depends on which job. Because if you can no longer perform, then you have to… I mean, if you’re working for, like, the city, then they’ll put you in a different part of the job. Gotcha. But if you’re working outside just for a contractor, they’re going to get rid of you if you cannot perform your job.

Well, for sure. Because the way the Democratic Party and Republican Party works is you want to hold the House. You want to hold the chair. You know what I’m saying? So you’re going to vote your party in.

But that doesn’t make any sense. Because if you have a president that’s a Republican or a Democrat, he’s going to vote in Democrat Congress people.

Well, that’s what I’m saying. So then how do the same people have the job for 30 years if you have difference? If you let me explain, and anyone who knows better, call at 303-477-5600. What you’re asking is, if I’m a Republican president, I want everybody that’s going to follow my belief. So I’m going to get everybody I can to vote in Republican. That’s the bottom line. You want people to follow your mission. If you vote in Democrats who are against what you believe, then you’re never going to accomplish your goals.

So then how do the Democrats still keep their job?

Because they keep getting voted in by other Democrats.

But if a Republican is president.

He can’t just fire those people. They have to be voted in and voted out. And if anybody knows more than us, call us at 303-477-5600. I think that’s right. They have to be voted in. I don’t think the president can just walk up to a congressperson and be like, you’re down the road.

No, no, no, no. I’ve studied on it from my knowledge. From my knowledge, I don’t think that can happen. I don’t think the president has the power because of the way the laws are set up. He can’t just walk into Congress and fire everybody. He can’t do that.

I worked at Arby’s and this fool fired me first day. I couldn’t make the cheese on the, you know, You know, the stuff they got right there, the cheese stuff. You throw the cheese there. Well, I grabbed a clear cup. Yeah, I was making everybody’s stuff. Couldn’t cut the cheese, man. I was making everybody’s stuff wrong. I turned around and grabbed a clear cup with some Sprite. This dude… Man, wherever that guy is right now, man, I hope he got fired somewhere in his life. The dude walks up to me, right, my first day. He looks in the cup. I’m like 16, and he’s like, hey, what you got there? And I was like, you know, hard day work. I got some straight. I’ve been standing on my feet for eight hours. He’s like, come with me, young man. I was like, I thought I was getting a promotion. I was like, yeah, man, I must have been the best sandwich maker of all time. He takes me in the back room, and he’s like, sign right here. I’m like, oh, cool. I signed it without reading it. He’s like, you’re fired. Get out of here.

Yeah. God, why would someone lie about knowing how to be an electrician? Because of the pay. I don’t get it.

The only people that I’ve fired – okay, so one guy I fired because he had a phone that was provided for him by Clearview Windshield Repair, and I was able to track where he was, and I was like, hey, man, are you over at Toyota doing windshield repairs? Yeah, yeah, I’m over there. No, he was at Park Meadows hanging out for a few hours. And he just wasn’t working? Just simply not working. But here’s the thing, man. You need to hire people based on character because you can’t really fake character. Right. Oh, yeah, you can fake it easy, bro. And work ethic and stuff. You ain’t faking work ethic. When it comes to work ethic and in business, what I’ve found is the numbers don’t lie. People lie, but the numbers don’t lie. What do you mean? So if I know that I can do $1,000 a day and it takes me eight hours to do or something, then if somebody’s doing a portion of that quantifiably, I can determine how much they actually worked. But that would be easy to fake my character. You are a character. No, easy. That would be easy.

How would you fake your character in front of people that know you every day? That know you? No, I’m talking at a job interview.

Oh, for the initial job interview. You mean look your best, go in? Yeah, yeah, yeah. But like Reno said, if you’re applying to be an electrician and you don’t know how to be an electrician, they’re going to know the same day. No, yeah.
