SPEAKER 10 :
i can’t hide myself i don’t expect you to understand i just hope i can explain what it’s like to be a man it’s a lonely room and they don’t care about what you know it’s not about how you feel but what you provide inside that home
SPEAKER 04 :
You can’t always live up to expectations You try to please everybody while you struggle So you fake it and end up out of balance Compromising situations as a good man Do what he should, man Give everything he has and do everything he could, man You might find yourself feeling all alone Inside a house you built that you don’t recognize as home
SPEAKER 01 :
Welcome to A Guy’s Perspective, where they discuss real life topics that men today are dealing with, whether married, single parent, or just single. We invite you to call into this live program with your comments and questions. And here they are.
SPEAKER 12 :
How’s everybody doing today? This is KLZ 560 AM. You can always give us a call at 303-477-5600. Today our show is going to be done by our pastor of the upper room. So we’re going to let him have the floor and people call in and ask him any kind of Bible. If there’s a Bible question out there you want to know about, give this man a call. Try to stomp him with a question and see what he can do.
SPEAKER 11 :
All right. No, no. Well, thank you, Brock, and thank you for the welcome. This is Pastor Derwood Tate, and I am here to take over. They have surrendered their time for us to just kind of share just some things today. I don’t know really what we’re going to talk about. We’ve got some folks that are coming that are not quite here yet. We’re going to talk about men’s ministry. We’re going to talk about life from a man’s perspective. Just keep in line with the subject matter here. A guy’s perspective, what does that really mean? I know when I listen to the radio broadcast, it says, There’s a lot of talk, and I’m not sure if they mean that a guy’s opinion is really what I’m hearing more so than a guy’s perspective. But how do men think? We saw the example once. There’s a board with one switch, and there’s a board with many switches, and I think that kind of tells it all. And the many switches represents the female, and the one switch represents the male. You could probably find that example in just about everything in life. We can be real simple. We go shopping different. You know, men are, you know, I know when I go, I just, I know what I want. You know, I know the pair of shoes I want. I know the suit I want. I buy it and I leave. Whereas, you know, my wife might be a little bit different than myself. So anyway, we’re going to talk about things from a man’s perspective. We’re going to talk about man’s ministry. And I got a good friend and brother in my church who’s going to come and talk about His ministry. I want you to listen because I think it’s something that we need nowadays very much. Men need attention. Men need the attention. I think it’s been a neglected part of our society. We just had tragedy here in our nation and a lot of it people’s opinions are varied. Some people are very moved and touched. Some are very sad. Some are very angry. Then there are others who really don’t care. And I think we need to all take a good look at what’s happening, look at what’s going in our nation, what’s going around the country. We’ve got to be together. We’ve got to be in one mind. And I like some of the things I see. I see young people rising up and taking a stand, and that’s very necessary. And I like to see the men. Be what we are called to be. And so that’s really what we want to talk about for the next, I don’t know, 50, 45 minutes or whatever. And just kind of maybe by the time we leave, we leave with some encouragement for men. You know, and I’ve been asked to do a couple things. One is we’re going to take a moment and we’re going to pray. And I think the prayer that we need to pray is, is that God will protect our young people in this society. There’s some shootings, things going on in schools. Children are under attack. And, I mean, we can go into that very heavily. But let’s just take a moment, and in just a minute I’m going to introduce the other guests that will be here with me. But let’s just take a moment and let’s pray for what’s happening across our country, across our nation. You know, and there’s been… Without really giving an opinion, without really saying what you believe or what you think, the tragedy exists. It remains. And we need a covering, and we need a blessing. We need God to help us. So let’s take a moment and let’s pray for our young folks. Pray for those that are going to school. It’s amazing. that we have to be concerned about violence, gun violence, and all the things that go on in school. Bullying, things like that. I don’t remember these things when I was a kid going to school, but these are tragic things that happen, and we need to cover our young people with prayer. So let’s take a moment and let’s pray. Everybody pray with me together. God, we thank you today for this opportunity to come together. And just kind of talk as men, talk about the things that are needed in our community, in our homes, in our country. There’s such a stirring of emotions, God, across this nation. You know, some are upset, some are touched, some are motivated, some are moved. And then you’ve got others, God, who may feel a negative feeling. But in all of it, God, I pray that you be the guiding force, that you be the covering that this country, the United States of America, needs. Be a strength to our young people. Be a covering. God, when we send our children to school, we pray that you cover them with angelic protection. It’s unnecessary to have these kind of problems in our education system where kids have to be concerned about what tragedy could occur in their particular location. But praying for those that have already been through the tragic circumstances of gun violence and children, you know, getting shot. And we just pray that the Spirit of God will restore, God, a peace and restore safety to this nation as we continue to move forward. And we thank you for all that you have done, even though there have been many tragedies. It’s been a hand of protection as well. So we thank you for this in Jesus’ name. Amen. Praise God. Well, I’m not here alone. I’m here with my very, very good friend, Joe Lyon. I wanted him to join me because I really appreciate what he’s doing. I appreciate the calling that he has to minister to men, minister to the needs. You know, we’ve been through things, Joe. We’ve had things happen. As men, very difficult to deal with problems. I mean, men and women deal with problems differently. And as a man, you hate problems. to have an issue you cannot overcome. You hate to have things happen and feel like you’ve fallen short. But what I appreciate about, you know, the women in our lives is, you know, they just stay there. They stand there, they stand behind us, they support us, and they give us… you know, everything they can give. You know, they’re what the Bible calls, you know, that help meet for that particular man. And I think God has blessed us with some good ladies in our lives. But Joe, come and talk to us about your ministry, the men’s ministry, you know, becoming a weapon. And perhaps there’s somebody out there that might hear this and think, you know, I want to hear more about that. I want to be a part of that program. So Joe Lyon, come talk to us.
SPEAKER 08 :
Well, thank you for having me today. Yeah, so Weaponized Nation, W-P-N-I-Z-D, nation. That stands for weaponized, or warrior, prosperity, never quit, immovable, zealous, and disciplined. And really the motivation behind the brand was just the climate of our society today, just the the division um the honestly the racism right now going on the our political affiliation somehow identifies us it puts a label on us and we tend to get a little bit foggy with our our uh our vision so we don’t look at people as humans anymore We just kind of see this label that another person has versus who they are, like the virtues, the essence of what they are. And when I really got serious about this was the first assassination attempt on President Trump. I looked at that as a sign like, man, I got to get this thing going. It’s time to stop talking about it and start being about it and start doing something about it. So we could either be part of the problem or part of the solution. And I saw an opportunity to create a brand that unites people, regardless of your age, your race, your affiliation, like who you vote for. And it’s about doing the work. It’s about daily principles. Being the man, stepping up, and just daily success habits, and the work unites us. It’s not what we look like, who we vote for. It’s doing the work under God and just a constant commitment to being better every single day.
SPEAKER 11 :
I heard you say you mentioned the president, the attempt on his life and while he was running for office. What are some of the other things, you know, that has motivated you? I know you’ve got some strong testimonies. We’ve been through a lot, and kind of talk about it from your perspective, where you were and where you’re looking to go, and just kind of attach that to what your information you’re sharing to all our men. Okay.
SPEAKER 08 :
I mean, really the way that I want to build this up is it’s more of a movement. It’s a way of life. It’s a lifestyle. I don’t really know if I can really expand on that particular question. my personal background and experience I’ve built businesses I’ve built them up I’ve got comfortable I’ve got complacent then I tended to self sabotage them I just kind of burned them to the ground and I just got bored with it I was never passionate about it it seemed like a men’s to know a means to no end and then I would build the next business and I would build it up and I’d make it great and then I would burn it down again And I felt like I just really wasn’t living in my purpose. I wasn’t living in my calling. And I needed something that was bigger than me, more than me. And I tell you what, since trying to start this movement, I’ve been attacked. Yeah. I’ve, you know, I’ll just put this on air. I mean, I’ve virtually lost everything trying to build this. The devil’s attacked me. My finances have been attacked. My health has been attacked. My family’s been attacked. Everything’s been attacked. Like supernatural resistance. So I know that I’m on the right path because the opposition is there. You quoted something yesterday on the text about the lightness and the dark. I can’t recall the quote exactly. You can share that again, but that really spoke to me, and it gave me some more fuel to continue doing what I’m trying to do here.
SPEAKER 11 :
Yeah, well, basically you are your first client, and your story will be the story that resonates in your ministry. I talked yesterday because it seemed like things just keep getting darker and darker, and I heard a preacher one time say that the— The amount of light that God’s going to bring into your life can be brought from the depth of the darkness that you experience. And when you’re a passionate dreamer, you’re a passionate person about, you know, different causes and things that you want God to have. You know, I don’t know anybody beside me, you know, where you’re the only person I know that challenges even my dreams. You know, I’m a big dreamer. And when you choose to dream that much, then the challenges are equal. You know, you go through that struggle, but we can’t quit. You know, when you get engaged in it. David said, yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil. We got to get through it, and I believe we’re going to get through it. When that light comes, then darkness is something that fades away. So anyway, let me not ignore the other guests we got. My good friend, my best friend, Dieter Skowron. He is coming representing Northern Colorado. An honor to be here. Yeah, pastor of Abundant Life Tabernacle in Johnstown and just a tremendous church and just a good friend. We’ve known each other for a lot of years and we do a lot of hanging out and talking about the Lord and praying and and, uh, just ministering to one another. And so welcome, welcome to a guy’s perspective.
SPEAKER 13 :
It’s an honor to be here. I appreciate this kind of format.
SPEAKER 11 :
Yeah. Yeah. We talked about doing this before. I wanted to call it, I wanted to call it black and white, salt and pepper. There you go. I say black and white because it’s just black and white. We don’t add nothing to it. It is what it is and we’re going to get through it. And, um, you know, some of the things that we talked about. I was thinking about men, you know, going all the way back to creation. I know people, some may and some may not embrace, you know, biblical creation. Oh, we got a caller. Oh, Robert. Hello, Robert. This is Derwood Taylor. I’ll stop what I’m saying because we got someone calling. What can I do for you today?
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah, I was calling about the topic you guys are talking about today. Okay.
SPEAKER 11 :
What do you want to share?
SPEAKER 14 :
Well, you know, it’s weird how people, all these people that, you know, target these areas where people can’t defend themselves, children and stuff like that, where there’s no weapons or anything like that. I mean, these people are really sick to do stuff like that. I mean, there’s a lot of wrong in the world, but this is really… a really heinous kind of thing that they do, regardless of what your religion believes. The mentality of people are going to treat these people like a victim when it’s all said and done.
SPEAKER 11 :
It’s kind of a cowardly approach to handling a problem. It is. It’s sad. It is sad. And this is why we’re here. We need to stand up and take, you know, just take back our country, take back our schools, and take back our cities and somehow keep these things from happening. Actually, what happened, you know, and you guys can put in your opinions, but, I mean, it lit a fire. I see people, you know, very moved and motivated with all the tragedy. You know, not just, you know, Mr. Charlie Kirk. You can go back to the young lady in the subway that got attacked. You can go to, you know, shootings here in our own state in Colorado. And, you know, you get tired of it. You get tired of it. You feel like we really need to get – get serious about what’s happening, and we need to pray like we’ve never prayed before, stand up like we’ve never stood before, and keep these things from happening, regardless of who it is. I mean, there’s some others. We can go on and on. Some people who may not be so prominent in knowing who they are, but we have tragedy, and we have things going on all the time, and this is This is my burden as a pastor, as a minister, is to bring something good to the community that I pastor in.
SPEAKER 14 :
What do you think? Well, you know, well, to go back to the lady that was killed on the subway, they started a GoFundMe page for $40,000. The guy got to $40,000 or $50,000 before it was taken down. These people are out there trying to help these people, and that’s why these things happen. You know, this stuff never happened when I went to school. You never heard about this stuff. It never happened. There wasn’t even firearms in the school, and we never had problems, you know. Right. So the way things are, people are being taught, you know, probably possibly technology is probably not helping the situation either.
SPEAKER 11 :
Right, right. Dieter Skarn, you’re out there. He’s calling from Cheyenne. You’re out there in northern Colorado.
SPEAKER 13 :
You’re close to my neck of the woods there.
SPEAKER 11 :
So tell me what you think, Pastor.
SPEAKER 13 :
You know, it hits me. Thank you all for the show, and I’ll listen to you. Okay. What comes to me is the story that Jesus gave of the man that built his house upon the rock.
SPEAKER 10 :
Right.
SPEAKER 13 :
And, you know, whenever you have a home that doesn’t have a solid foundation, it’s going to crumble. And what’s happened systematically across our nation is the foundation’s been pulled out. It’s been pulled out from under most people’s lives. And when you have men, and this is the emasculation of men on the broadest sense, has stripped America of its foundation. When men used to be honored as the head of the house and God was first, And people did the right thing because it was the right thing, not because it was easy. But today, the path of least resistance seems to be the choice everybody’s taking. And because of that, there’s no foundation. There’s a book written, maybe you’ve read it, it’s called Do Hard Things.
SPEAKER 03 :
Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER 13 :
And I feel like that’s what’s corrupting our whole state and the country at large because we have people that have lost the foundation. It’s been stripped. And the house is coming. The house that’s been built is coming in on itself. It’s collapsing. And the storm that was prophesied would come is here. And the house is falling down.
SPEAKER 11 :
Right, right. Let’s talk about it from our own personal perspective. You know, I’ve been married for 42 years. I’ve raised two children. You’ve been married how long?
SPEAKER 08 :
39 years.
SPEAKER 11 :
39 years.
SPEAKER 08 :
And Joe? We’ve been married for 14 years, been together for 23, 22.
SPEAKER 11 :
So between the three of us, that’s over 100 years of experience. But, you know, how about life for you? I mean, has it always been kind of a walk in the park? You know, try to understand why people fail. And, you know, I come out of a broken home. And I come out of a neighborhood where there’s violence, black-on-black crimes, being a black man myself. And I see the fall of man. You talk about the foundation isn’t there. How did you make it to 39 years? How did you hold that relationship together for 23 years? Let’s talk about that for a second.
SPEAKER 13 :
You know, I love that question because it poses— A pointing finger straight to the strength of family. And that’s the foundation of Jesus Christ. For me, of course, you know my story. I had cancer twice and almost died. Still can’t open my mouth. It’s a miracle I’m able to speak here. Ulcerative colitis, all these things, and something traumatic like that brought me to a realization that I had to have a foundation. If I was going to live, even if I didn’t have very long, if I was going to live, I had to have something to stand on. And I think for me, learning that Jesus Christ was the foundation, that he is that rock that I could build my house on that won’t collapse in the storm. And then my wife, of course, had the same epiphany. You know, she had that a moment. I mean, we almost collapsed in ourselves. But when we turn to the Lord, the Lord became our foundation. And now if the Bible says it, we’re submitted to it. And I think that the culture is falling apart because there’s only what you feel. There is no absolute. And when you live by what you feel, you feel different every day. And what you can do changes because you’re reacting to your feelings and not what you know to be right and true.
SPEAKER 11 :
Right. Now, there’s a breaking point for everybody. And I know that in my 42 years of marital bliss and 37 years of pastoring, oh, I can name many, many times when I felt like Brother Joe where I just couldn’t take no more. And I literally felt like I couldn’t take anymore. And somehow, somewhere, you dig deep inside and you find that will, you find that power, you find that strength to go on because we can’t quit. There’s no quitting. And probably for the first time in all of these years, there’s a movement. There’s a change. You know, you can tell some stories about things that happened in Johnstown. What God did for that church is unbelievable. And I tell my good friend Joe here, Joe, Joe Lyon has a tremendous vision for men’s ministry. I want our church to follow that vision. And, you know, you’re not going to have anything like that and not have any challenges. You’re not going to have something like that and not have some opposition. But when it happened, you just got to have it in your mind. I can’t quit.
SPEAKER 13 :
Right.
SPEAKER 11 :
I can’t quit. Do we deal with fear? Yes. We talk about the story. I preached on the story of Gideon.
SPEAKER 13 :
Right.
SPEAKER 11 :
You know, the 32,000 got whittled down because of fear. But did you know the rest of them were still afraid? Yeah. The factor of fear was still there, but you move anyway. You move forward anyway. The others ran, but these few that remained operated still with fear because, you know, the prophet said, he said, you know, if you’re still afraid, go down to the enemy’s camp and hear what they’re saying about you. So there’s still an element of fear. And, oh, my God, have I felt that. But you can never… Give in to the pressures of what could happen, what may happen. We’ve just got to make it happen, you know what I mean, and keep moving forward. And I think that’s what we’re trying to promote. That’s what we’re trying to preach. And that’s what this weaponizing man, as Brother Joe talks about, we’ve got to let men know that we’re not going to fail.
SPEAKER 13 :
You know what I love about that? You know how I grew up? Right. I actually had a scientist one time meet my family. And he says to me, he said, your family’s the only one I’ve run into in all my years of research that’s patriarchal in America. And I said, what do you mean, patriarchal? He said, the men keep the family together. The men are the ones that are worrying about what everybody’s doing. You know how I grew up. My dad and my uncles were in my face every day. I was known as the guy that had three dads. They’re like, what are you doing? You come back here. Get to work. Why are you talking like this? And now I remember going back over my life and seeing the foundation that was given to me. And I keep going to that because I feel like it was put upon us, me and my relatives and a lot of my cousins, it was put upon us to be strong. And today I like to think that I hold that same standard that my dad gave me, right? Stand up, be the man. You know, teach your kids right from wrong. Show up to church. Do the right thing when it’s not easy, you know. And actually pull it together to be an example.
SPEAKER 11 :
Well, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to just go, not even knowing where I’m going and not knowing how I’m going to get there. You know, you just got to go. You know, you just got to push past that time that brings you down. And, you know, that day will come. But what happens? We talk about that foundation. We talk about, you know, you got your family, you know, the three dads, so to speak. And, you know, when I grew up, I didn’t really have all that. And I remember as a young person trying to find my way. And I could have been lost. I could have been lost. I could have found myself in a very bad place. But I give glory to God, and I thank God for keeping his hand on me.
SPEAKER 13 :
Amen.
SPEAKER 11 :
Because I am so blessed to be where I am today. I don’t have a lot. I have a good wife. I have my children. I love them. The church that I pastor, I say these people are the best people I’ve ever had in my life. And so that alone to me is treasure.
SPEAKER 13 :
Right.
SPEAKER 11 :
Getting through what I have to get where I am today, it’s worth it just right now. If God never did anything else, I’m blessed for what I already have right now because God gave us the fortitude to make it. I’m always amazed. I look back, I go, how in the world did I get here? So what we want to do, and I love this ministry because it talks about different things, developing values and putting a disciplined life together and being what we’re called to be. And that’s what I kind of want to hear a little bit more from Joe, but I think I’m supposed to announce it. You can give us a call at 303. 477-5600 if you have a call or question or whatever you want to call a subject or you want to participate in what we’re talking about. We want to thank Robert for giving us a call. And I know Robert was on the line and we didn’t get to thank him for calling. But Joe, we got a couple minutes before we go to a break. You know, give me some things about this ministry that I think a man would want to hear and be encouraged to hear and feel like he can take that and build something on it.
SPEAKER 08 :
I think going back to your question about my family and how we’ve stayed together, my wife is my cheerleader, not my antagonist. She’s part of my journey. She’s part of my story. She encourages me. Just yesterday, I said I was done. I quit. She compared me to people in the Bible and people like Job, and I said, well, I’m not someone in the Bible, and God knows me, and God knows how much I can handle, and I finally broke. and I was going to just give it all up. But the funny thing is, God knows me. He knows I’m not going to quit. He knows I’m not going to give it all up. So in the heat of the moment where I’m raising my fist to the sky and yelling at God, God knows me. God knows what I’m capable of. God knows what I’ll be able to endure. It’s just kind of funny that I’m here today talking about this when just a day ago I was ready to just give it all up. But that’s because God knows us. God knows our journey. God knows our story before we ever step foot in it. And so it’s kind of touching on God’s humor a little bit there.
SPEAKER 11 :
Well, we’re going to take a break right now. We’ll be back on the other side.
SPEAKER 10 :
I just hope I can explain What it’s like to be a man It’s a lonely road And they don’t care about what you know It’s not about how you feel But what you provide inside that home

SPEAKER 11 :
All right, this is Durwood Tate, Pastor Durwood Tate, and I have with me… This is Joe Lyon with Weaponized Nation.
SPEAKER 13 :
And I’m Dieter Skowron with Abundant Life Tabernacle out in Johnstown.
SPEAKER 11 :
Yes, representing Northern Colorado. Why don’t you give your, you know, we hear my advertisement. Why don’t you give the information on your services and the exact location of your church?
SPEAKER 13 :
Well, if you’re in Northern Colorado, we’re right on the highway. At the Highway 402 exit, you get on the frontage road. It’s called Abundant Life. You’ll see a big sign on the back there. And it’s right in between Highway 34 and Highway 402, right on the frontage road on the east side.
SPEAKER 11 :
Right off the highway.
SPEAKER 13 :
Yeah, we have service at 1030 Sunday morning. So we’d love to see you if you’re up north.
SPEAKER 11 :
Right, you’re up north. Please stop by. You will not regret. I want to also, I told some young men from the church I would announce this. We have a couple guys that own a auto repair shop called Red Dog Auto, Allen and Wesley Rodriguez. Their number is 308-208-2763. You can book an appointment if your car has a need. But they also have an event coming up on the 27th, which is next Saturday at 8 o’clock in the morning. It’s called Rev and Roast. They’re not talking about Reverend. They’re talking about Rev Your Car. Rev and Roast Cars, Bikes, and Coffee is free, 1717 East 39th Avenue in the Rhino District. Just a car show, free entry. You’re in the area or not in the area, you drive to it, go check them out. They would really appreciate having you. These are two young men trying to build their business. And, again, if your car has a need, Red Dog Auto, you can book an appointment. You will have to book an appointment. And that number, again, is 308-208-2763. All right, so we’re back talking about things with men. I was thinking about the subject of men, and I think I heard it taught years ago how we came to be. You know, there’s God, the Creator. And when God made the heavens and he made the earth, he made the ground and he made the trees so that the trees were dependent on the ground. And then when he made the water, he made fish so that the fish were dependent on the body of water. But when he made man, God made man and breathed the breath of life into man. And man became connected or dependent upon his God. But when he made woman, he took woman out of man. And so there’s this connection. There’s God, then there’s man, and then there’s woman. There’s no place greater or demeaning. It’s the flow. My wife and I, we call it ebb and flow. And when it’s working correctly… Then you have a beautiful relationship. But when things are out of order, you can see it, you can feel it, and it makes a difference in the home. Oftentimes with counsel, couples, and I’m always talking to the man, I say, you know, most of the time if I can fix you, I can fix the whole problem. Really. If I can get the man right, the man will be what the woman needs him to be. So we’ve got to get man right. We’ve got to get back to God. We’ve got to get back to a place where we’re depending on God for the things that we need in this world and this life. Becoming a weapon, Joe, that’s what your shirt is saying. And I want you to talk about those steps that men, just simple little steps that men can make to just kind of get their life back. I know how it feels sometimes. You know how you don’t go to the gym and You know, and you get busy working and, you know, you kind of neglected the kids a little bit. And, you know, things are out of order. So how can we encourage men to get back to that place where they feel like they’re fulfilling their roles properly?
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah. Before I get into that, I just want to mention, I don’t know if a lot of people know this, but the McRib sandwich from McDonald’s was actually inspired by Eve getting the rib.
SPEAKER 11 :
Oh, man, now I want to mix them in. Thanks a lot, Joe.
SPEAKER 08 :
Bring them back. All right, man. Actually, just to add a little bit more substance to the name Weaponized for our audience, I’m not talking about everybody going out and loading up on a whole bunch of guns and ammo and just running around toting guns. The reason that I called it weaponized was, what is a weapon? A weapon is simply a tool to hit a target. Now you’re going to have targets, or some people call them goals, with your body. If you want to lose 30 pounds, that’s a target. If you want to have better intimacy with your wife, that would be in our balance domain, that’s a target. So before you guys think that this is a show about everyone going up and getting weapons, it’s not. It’s just the name because a weapon is a tool to hit a target. So I want to get into men’s health a little bit. I don’t know if you guys know this, but 72% of men over the age of 20 are either overweight or obese. That is the number one predictor of morbidity in the nation. Strokes, heart attack, diabetes, insulin resistance, overweight, obesity. So we really start with our bodies. Weaponized has four domains that we focus on. We have our body, which is obviously our body, guys. We only get one of them. We can’t trade it in. So we’ve got to take care of it. We have our being, which is God. We have our balance, which is our family. And, of course, we have our business. Now, your body, one of the reasons why we focus so hard on the body is the body is really the catalyst to everything. There’s a cascading effect to all domains. They’re interchangeable. Let’s just say you’re overweight in the body domain. that’s going to transcend into your being it’s going to be harder to get up and praise and at our church we praise you know we worship we get up and dance so it’s going to be hard to do that if you’re too out of shape to even get off the chair or the pew whatever you guys have at your churches it’s going to affect how you show up for your children Now, just to sidetrack a little bit, there’s a difference between a dad and a father. A father provides basic needs, food, water, shelter, right? A dad shows up for the kids. They go play games. They go to their concerts. They support them. They encourage them. They listen. They ask them how their day was. So how your health is is going to affect what kind of dad you can be or what kind of father you are. Now, it also affects your business, your ability to produce, to create, to go out there and get things done. If you’re feeling lethargic, you’re not going to have a lot of energy to do what you know you should be doing. So we really focus on our bodies because that really is what – it’s not the most important domain. Obviously, the being domain, the God domain is number one, right, in the order of things, God, family, business. But our bodies, it really has the most impact on how we can show up in every other domain. And one of the key takeaways from this is when people are struggling with money and finances, what they tend to do is they work harder. They go get a second job, a third job. They double down. And it’s to no avail. Like the solution never happens. The problem never gets fixed. Because where you think the problem is, it’s usually in a different domain. So when you’re doubling down on work, when your problem is at home with your wife because you’re fighting every single day and that’s holding you back, you’re feeling that every day at work and it’s robbing your ability to create. It’s robbing your ability to produce. Or it could be your body domain where you’re just overweight and lethargic. Or it could be in your being domain where you’re not necessarily fulfilling God’s purpose in your life and you need to double down on Jesus and let God do the rest. So a lot of people look at the surface level problem and they think doing something in that area is the solution. And a lot of times it’s not. And the reason why we’re targeting men is if you could change one man, you can change a family. If you change a family, you can change a street, change a street, change a neighborhood that turns into cities, communities, states. All of a sudden you’re impacting a nation off of one man. So you really have a choice. Do you want to be that man or do you want to be on the sidelines watching the game? Because we could talk about it all day long, but until we’re willing to do something and step up, it’s all talk. It doesn’t matter.
SPEAKER 11 :
That’s right. That’s right. That’s why I want you to share that because I think that’s where you start. I know people think, well, my life’s such a mess right now. Where do I start? Well, we start with God. You know, find a place, find an altar, find a minister, a church. You know, we make our churches available, our ministries available. You go to northern Colorado, you’ve got Abundant Life right there in Johnstown. Again, we’re in South Denver in the Washington Park area. We want to help our men. I have a burden for that, and I really want to see that happen. So start with prayer, but then these are easy steps you can take to get your life back. And you don’t have to give it up. You can just make it happen. You know, we don’t all come up the same way. We have different things that challenges. Some people come out of, you know, broken homes, alcoholics, you know, where that’s all they saw are drugs. And, you know, and that’s the foundation that was laid for you. And it’s more work. It’s a greater challenge to get out of that. But God can help anybody. God can help anybody get through it. Many people have overcome that, you know, and I just want to encourage anybody listening, if you feel like you’re hopeless, you know, there’s no way for you to change. You can do it, and God can help you. What I appreciate about my good friend, Dieter Skarin, is his dad. You’re talking about a foundation. You’re talking about a… someone that impacted and influenced his life and i could say this and i say this and he would understand me saying it that he um he has a good dad and i want him to talk about in just a minute but right now we got a call we got a call we got a john calling how you doing john Okay, how are you doing? Good, good. What can we do for you? You got a comment for us or something you want to say?
SPEAKER 03 :
Just a question, would you repeat about the car show, where it is and when it is?
SPEAKER 11 :
Okay, okay, good. The car show is next Saturday at 8 o’clock in the morning. And let me see. I didn’t keep it here in front of me, but it’s done by Red Dog Auto. It’s called Revin Roast. Next Saturday at 8 o’clock in the morning, 1717 East 39th Avenue in Denver, Colorado. East 39th. Yes, in the Rhino area, if you’re familiar with that part of town. Okay. I’ll try to figure it out. Well, great. I’m sure they’d be happy to see you come.
SPEAKER 03 :
Great. Thank you. All right. Thank you.
SPEAKER 11 :
Red Rhino Roast and what now? It’s called Rev and Roast, and I’m sure that Rev talks about the car itself. So they got some coffee and other things that they’re going to be serving and some good cars out there. So go check it out. Okay. All right. Thanks a lot. All right. Thanks for calling. All right, let’s get back here to Gus Gowron. Yes. Let’s talk about your dad.
SPEAKER 13 :
You know, my dad reminds me of Moses in a way. The Bible says he was the meekest man in all the earth, and a lot of people think of meekness in a different kind of form, like he’s quiet, subdued, because he’s known Moses wasn’t given to being a speaker. But meekness is not weakness. It’s strength under control. And that’s what my dad modeled for me. When I had cancer, he stood by my bed the whole time and prayed all night long. And God touched me. It was a supernatural interaction. And I know that my dad’s faith interceded on my behalf. But even more than that, he was a model. I remember we would be working in Vail, and my dad had always been a home builder. He’s from Europe, and my uncles, and we were building these fancy condominiums up there. And I remember all these girls walking up and down the street, and their pastors really let them down because they weren’t dressed right at all. And they were scantily clad. Let’s just put it that way. And all the guys in my dad’s van are rubbernecking and making catcalls, But my dad’s looking straight ahead. And I asked him, I said, Dad, I said, how come you don’t look? You know, I noticed because I watch my dad all the time and he goes, son, when I think about God and I think about your mother and I think about you and your sister, how could I dishonor the people and my Lord who I love so much? my dad taught me this example up close and personal. He did this in front of me, you know, he taught me how to be honorable. And, and I still, I remember praying as a kid, Lord, help me be like my dad. And to this day, I’m 62 years old yet a couple of days ago. And I still pray, Lord, help me be like my dad. Right.
SPEAKER 11 :
Right. That’s, that’s powerful. I saw a scripture and, um, And that kind of fits what you’re saying about your dad. In 1 Corinthians 16, verse 13, it says, Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong. Be strong. Be strong. And watching is being on guard, watching. You know, we watch our children. We watch where they go, what they do. We watch our homes. We watch our— Just getting engaged. Yeah. Our family. I mean, we’re the king there. Right. The wife’s the queen. Now we know she’s in charge. But, you know, that home is a protector. And the Lord commands us to watch and then to be fast and stand fast in faith. We cannot waver.
SPEAKER 13 :
Right.
SPEAKER 11 :
You know, when we waver, the whole house wavers. We talk about starting with man. You fix man, you fix the entire home. You fix the home, you fix the neighborhood. You fix the neighborhood, you fix the community and so forth and so on until we got a nation of strong men. Then it says quit you like men. That’s not being typical. Right. Let’s stop being predictable. Oh, he’s not going to make it. You know, this guy doesn’t have much in him and he’s going to give in or he’ll run off. And, you know, just what men would do. You know, we built this reputation as men and we’re not expected to be what we need to be. So let’s change that. Let’s change that. Let’s turn this city, let’s turn this state, let’s turn this country into men that are willing to stand strong and watch for our families and for our country. And let’s bring back some kind of revival to our nation. I hate it that we have so many weak people, you know, weak men. I remember one time, and I’m not going to mention any names, but I had a man that came to me for counseling, and he was crying like a 12-year-old kid. And I just looked at him, and I thought, well, that’s where you need to start. You know, be a man. You know, we all have it. Don’t we get challenges in life, you know? You know, we have financial challenges. You know, sometimes the work doesn’t work right. You know, then we got our children. You know, we deal with them in this world. And, you know, and being a pastor, oh, my God, the list goes on. And we deal with so many things. But we got to find a way to just have some fortitude, be strong, because that’s what the world’s looking for. That’s what our families are looking for.
SPEAKER 13 :
The scripture says, to add to what you’re saying, he said, when you’ve done all the stand, stand. I think a lot of people don’t even realize that you can choose to be strong. It’s like people say, well, I’m not strong. Well, that’s a choice you make every day. We don’t clock out of this life just because, well, I’m not strong. You decide, you make a choice, you’re going to stand. Well, I feel weak in this area, but I’ve got to stand, therefore. My knees feel like buckling, but I’m going to stand anyway. I feel like I’m being crushed, but I’m going to stand anyway. You know how I went through cancer. Right. And to this day, when I go to a dentist’s office and they want to work on my jaw, I mean, I cut my fingers off and they sewed them back on. I was fine. But you take me to a dentist and he starts looking around in my mouth because that’s where I had the cancer. All of a sudden, this fear. I know. I’ve been there with you. Yes, you were. And that fear tried to jump on me and it took everything I had to stay in the chair. And I had to talk to myself. And I had to say, you stay in the chair, you chicken lover. You get with it. Be the man. You’ve got to face this. And before you know it, it’ll be over. And I think we have to remind ourselves that everything in life is just for a season. And if we could just get through that season of trial, tribulation, even weakness. Right. And I think that’s what the Apostle Paul said. When you’ve done all the stand, stand. Stand.
SPEAKER 11 :
Just do it. Stand. Push through. Don’t have an answer. You just stand.
SPEAKER 13 :
Amen.
SPEAKER 11 :
Somebody said, how did you make it? I just stayed. I just didn’t quit. They said, what’s the key to success? Keep going forward. Keep showing up. We don’t have no special ingredient. We just don’t quit. And even when you’re not really doing it well, how many times have we fallen? The Bible says that a righteous man falls seven times. And I like the fact that he calls it righteous. Right. You know, you don’t lose your righteousness when you fall. You lose your righteousness when you stay down. Right. We got to get back up. Amen. I mean, we need people like that. Our churches, our families are depending on good men that will stand on their feet and just keep moving forward. So there’s just no quit. And I think we’ve got to get that kind of an attitude about us. So I appreciate this. I love talking about it. I didn’t know we was going to talk this much about it, but I like encouraging people. Man, I had a man one time get mad at me because he says, you’re always telling me you never say nothing to my wife. I said, well, I’m hoping I could fix things, just me and you. Let’s talk man to man because your wife has issues that I can’t meet. You can. So if I fix you, and I’m not a mechanic. I know people, when you work in the field of mechanics or you’re a mechanical engineer or something, one piece helps another piece, right? You can fix one piece, and it’s amazing how the entire engine will work fine, just one piece. I say, well, you’re the piece that I want to work with because I don’t work with you, then I work with your wife, then I work with your kids. If I work with you, then your wife is going to say, wow. Your children are going to say, what happened to Dad? And we see things begin to happen. I know with me, I remember one time my wife told me, she says, you’re not giving the children the attention that they need. I was so caught up in the field of trying to serve everybody else. And I stopped for a second and I looked at it and I said, you know what? I haven’t been what I needed to be to my children. I didn’t even hug them. And I find myself just kind of brushing them off. And I got real convicted about it. And I said, that’ll never happen again. Right? You find it. You fix. And you go on. You fix that piece. And then all of a sudden, there’s harmony in the home. How many times have we seen that, right?
SPEAKER 13 :
I remember when I was a young pastor. I had the church that we were starting. And then I had this young, beautiful wife. And then three kids. And I own a construction company. And managing all that. And making sure that I’m taking care of my responsibilities to meet their physical needs, but also spiritually and emotionally being there for them.
SPEAKER 11 :
Right, right. Anybody listening, you want to call 303-477-5600. You’re welcome to give us a call. Any questions about any of the announcements that have been made? You want the address of the church again or the car shows? Whatever it is, we had one call already, and you’re welcome to give us a call.
SPEAKER 08 :
Real quick for the listeners, as far as daily success habits, I’ll touch over really fast for you guys listening. You can go to weaponized.shop, W-P-N-I-Z-D.shop if you want a further breakdown. But real quick, in the body domain, just sweat for 15 minutes every single day and drink a green smoothie in the morning. You can get into gut health, but we don’t have time on this show. For the being domain, we just want you guys to pray every day or meditate 5, 10, 15 minutes every single day and then journal it. Journal what you wrote about, your revelations, your takeaways. In the balance domain, do something nice for your wife every day and do it without expectation and don’t tell her that you’re doing it. Just do that every single day and also do something for your kids every day. It could be a love note. It could be a sticky note on the fridge. It could be a text message. Just anything. Just do something nice for your kids every day. In the business domain, just discover. So read something as it pertains to whatever your field of study is or whatever you’re doing in business. If you need to be a better salesman, grab a Chet Holmes book. But don’t read the whole book to say that you read a book. Just read to revelation. What was your wow moment? What was your aha moment? And then write that down and put that into action. And then declare it. Share it with people. That’s a quick overview of basically the weaponized protocols daily. And we gamify it. We put a point system to it. But, again, we don’t have time to go into the nitty-gritty of it all. You can go to the website and get more details. But I just wanted to share that with you guys today. See that website again. It’s WPNIZD.shop. We do sell merchandise. We have clothes, shirts, hoodies, some hats in there. And, you know, whenever you buy merchandise from the store, you’re really taking a stand that you want to unite. You want to do the work and just unite with your brother and just send a message.
SPEAKER 13 :
I like your logo. It’ll look good on a hat.
SPEAKER 08 :
It looks pretty nice. And they’re very comfortable, too. They’re not cheap cotton shirts. They’re high-end, really good quality.
SPEAKER 11 :
Right, right. You know, I went to a gym one time for the first time when I was a lot younger, and I saw someone working out with 20 pounds with the trainer. I thought, they’re never going to get anywhere until I had to do it myself. And I realized 20 pounds can feel like 100 pounds within the routine. And I thought, well, isn’t it something that something so small and so light can make such a difference? And that’s what I like about these steps. They’re simple. You know, it’s not rocket science. Just do it. I think that’s the biggest thing. We say that about life itself, right? Just do it, man. Just do it.
SPEAKER 13 :
And the fruit will follow.
SPEAKER 11 :
Yeah, just do it. You want to change? Just do it.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah, you won’t recognize yourself in a month. Within three months, people won’t recognize you. Within six months, you’ll start to look, feel, and talk and walk different. Within a year, you’ll be living a life you never thought possible.
SPEAKER 11 :
Right, right. And Joe is also a personal trainer, so you’re looking for somebody to help you that way. He can do that for you also. So this has been exciting, doing this. I think we’re probably going to just kick these guys off the air and just take over their show. But we appreciate the opportunity. Thank you, Brock and Heath and Arino and Andre and Brian for letting us come in here and just kind of share it from these guys’ perspective. And then hopefully we’ve been effective. And we have helped in some way. We’ve touched somebody and we’ve reached somebody’s life. So as we come to the conclusion. I think it’d be a good thing. It’s kind of cool to have this microphone in front of us because now we’re going to pray. And I don’t know how far we’re going and how many people are listening, but it’s a lot more than what we see in this room. And so I think we should just take a moment. And I’m going to ask you, Dieter Scan, I want you to lead us in prayer. Let’s pray for Colorado. Let’s pray for whoever might be listening. Somebody might be at their wits end and they’re looking for something to just help them to climb out of the misery they’re in. So let’s just pray and believe that something good was planted and something good will come out of this particular broadcast.
SPEAKER 13 :
Heavenly Father, I thank you for every listener this afternoon. God, you sent your word and healed them. And God, that’s what we’re asking you to do right now. We’re asking you to send your word and into the front range of colorado lord up and down north to south god you see the wounded spirits you see men that their hands are hanging down and their knees are feeble but god you strengthen the hands that hang they’re hanging down and you lift us up oh god and you strengthen the feeble knees oh god and you bring hope to the hopeless and heavenly father i’m praying for the supernatural to manifest itself lord across the front range, that folks will come to know you, Lord, and that they’ll be saved, and that you would, Lord, lift them up out of the doldrums and bring them into abundant life in Jesus Christ.
SPEAKER 11 :
Amen.
SPEAKER 13 :
Amen.
SPEAKER 11 :
Amen. Thank you. Thank you, Peter Skowron, for coming.
SPEAKER 13 :
It was an honor to be with y’all.
SPEAKER 11 :
All the way from northern Colorado out there in Johnstown, abundant life. Go check it out. Joe, my friend, we’ve been friends for a lot of years, and I appreciate this guy and his, you know, we have our moments. But thank you for being here with us, and thank you for listening. And thank you again, Guy’s Perspective, for letting us be a part. God bless everybody. Y’all have a wonderful day.
SPEAKER 10 :
can explain what it’s like to be a man it’s a lonely room and they don’t care about what you know it’s not about how you feel but what you provide inside that home
