In this episode, Mike Gallagher dives into the intense world of late-night television and political commentary. Sparked by a polarizing incident involving Jimmy Kimmel, we unravel the implications of media messaging and its ripple effects on society. Elements of comedy and provocation come under the microscope as we explore how rhetoric can shape public perception and what it reveals about our culture today. Listeners will hear a detailed exploration of the event and its broader societal impacts, emphasizing the responsibility of entertainers in times of division.
SPEAKER 11 :
From the wild world of D.C. politics to America’s culture clash, brace yourself for the reality check you’ve been waiting for. The one and only Mike Gallagher.
SPEAKER 05 :
You know, I walk into this studio and I’ve got a show prepared and I’ve got a whole bunch of stuff that we’re going to cover and I’ve got topics and I’ve got segments and I’ve got video clips and everything. And then I go look on X, which is my go-to media or my go-to social media site. And I hope you follow us there at Gallagher Show. I’ve got to get more followers. Come on. I’m not terrible. I have 75,000 or so. I’ve got to get into triple digits. Come on. Help me get to 100,000. Every time I beg, and I have to beg, you reward me with 100 or 200 more followers. Can we get 10,000 a day? Come on. Add GallagherShow at X, and I’ll see you there. I’ll try to follow everybody back who follows me. And if I forget or if I don’t get to you, make a comment to me that you want me to follow, and I will. Anyway, I go look at X right before the theme show music started. And there’s a picture of Jimmy Kimmel. Now, I’ve never watched Jimmy Kimmel in my life. Honest to goodness, I’m not trying to be a smart aleck. I’ve just never seen his show. I don’t care. He doesn’t interest me. He’s like Colbert. These guys are unfunny. They’re mean. They think they have comedy shows, but they devote it all to an anti-conservative, anti-Republican, anti-Trump, you know, harangue. It’s all they do. I don’t know why they think that’s funny. Imagine Johnny Carson standing there for 90 minutes, bashing, I don’t know, Nixon or Ford or whatever. But this is what these guys do? All right, fine. Do your thing. People want to watch it. People watch it. I don’t care. And I’m aware, of course, of the coverage of Jimmy Kimmel. He got yanked off the air by ABC when he disparaged Charlie Kirk and basically was just ghoulish over the murder of Charlie. More on that in just a moment. I spoke to a lady yesterday who I haven’t talked to in a couple years, and she told me the most inspiring story about her reaction to Charlie Kirk’s assassination that I think I’ve ever heard. And I’ve got to share this story with you. I hope I don’t embarrass her. She’s a wonderful, wonderful woman. And I hadn’t talked to her in a couple years. I reached out to her about something, and we started talking about the year that we had, and we talked about Charlie Kirk. What she said to me just blew me away. I’ll share all that with you in just a moment. But anyway… So Kimmel said something stupid about Charlie’s murder. They take him off the air. All hell breaks loose. He’s weeping and crying, and then he comes back on the air. They brought him back because of all the pressure, because of all the leftists who love Jimmy Kimmel and his Trump hatred. So they put him back, and now he’s doubling down. Now he’s taunting, and now he’s spiking the football, and look, I beat Trump. Look at me. I’m bigger than Trump. And… There’s a picture on X that I had to ask my producer, Tracy, is this real? This can’t be real. Evidently this week, Jimmy Kimmel, in the aftermath of the ICE shooting of this 37-year-old activist and this anti-law enforcement protester in Minneapolis… He said, oh, and I’m paraphrasing. We’re going to find the clip because I couldn’t believe it was real. Tracy tells me that Jimmy Kimmel said, yeah, they’ve got a new slogan in the White House. And he held up a red T-shirt on camera. And the red T-shirt says, Donald J. Trump is going to kill you. Now, I saw this on social media. Somebody, Kevin Dalton, posted it. And he said, I don’t even know how this is real. Jimmy Kimmel holds up a t-shirt that reads, Donald J. Trump is going to kill you. Kevin writes, this is the exact hateful rhetoric that inspired a woman in Minneapolis to get herself killed by federal agents. And Jimmy Kimmel is trying to make sure that there are more just like her. And I can’t disagree with that assertion. And I had some things prepared this hour, but this throws me. I saw this, and I thought… I said to Tracy and to Eric and Christian and Alex, I said, guys, this isn’t real, right? And Tracy said, oh, yeah, this is real. I said, he did this last night? Tracy said, no, I think he did it the night before last. I said… The comedian on ABC’s late night talk show stood in front of the cameras and held up a t-shirt that says, Donald J. Trump is going to kill you? That can’t be real. And if it’s real, and I mean this sincerely, I mean this from the heart, if this is real, how can anybody find that out? How can anybody say that’s okay? Whether you love him or hate him, Donald Trump is the President of the United States. Donald Trump promised a mass deportation effort. The mass deportation effort is carried out by men and women of ICE, who are law enforcement officers. A woman clearly accelerated her car in the direction of an armed law enforcement officer who shot her. It’s awful. It’s a tragedy. She put herself in a terrible place. Her partner was heard saying afterwards, this is my fault, this is my fault, I brought her down here. It’s been revealed that she worked at a Minneapolis-based entity as a member of Ice Watch. These are people who are agitators who attempt to interfere with federal law enforcement operations. You know, while you and I get up every morning and shower and brush our teeth and go to work, this woman got up and planned how she could disrupt law enforcement that day. That’s what she became. That’s not normal. If you think that’s normal, there’s something off with you. But if you think Jimmy Kimmel holding up a T-shirt that says Donald J. Trump is going to kill you is normal, you’ve got to get to a doctor. You’ve got to get to a pastor. You’ve got to get to a priest or a rabbi, a therapist, because there’s something really, really wrong here. I’m not sure how anybody could find this acceptable, even if you’re a Jimmy Kimmel fan. And I have to ask, again, admittedly never having watched the show, is that funny? Does he think that’s comedy? Did the audience laugh at this? I’ve got to find out, and we’ve got the clip ready to go. I’ll play it for you, and it’s not AI. It’s not satire. He actually did just that. It’s Friday. Somehow we made it through the first week after the holidays. Friday, January 9th, 2026, here in the Relief Factor Studios. Welcome aboard! I want to always put your voice front and center to get your reaction to all of these things. I don’t know what I’d do without you. 800-655-MIKE. One number does it all. SPEAKER 05 :
I was listening to my buddy Chris DeGaulle this morning talk about his beloved dog, Dean, how much Dean loves Rough Greens. Dog lovers all over America are just enamored with this incredible, incredible supplement. It’s America’s number one dog supplement. It’s called Rough Greens. Rough is spelled R-U-F-F. Rough Greens, created by naturopathic Dr. Dennis Black. He’s a friend of mine. And I love telling pet owners every day that if your dog is suffering from itching and scratching or achy joints and bones, look, most canine health problems come from a weakened immune system. First of all, they love the taste of Rough Greens. I’ve watched Jesse and Simon in the Hudson household just lap it up. You sprinkle Rough Greens on top of your dog’s existing food, and they’re going to go to town, and they’re going to love it. Thousands of pet parents are getting off the vet visit merry-go-round and seeing the difference in a big way. Try it for yourself. Rough Greens, we’ve got a free jumpstart trial bag for you. You just cover the shipping costs. Go to roughgreens.com. Rough is spelled R-U-F-F. Roughgreens.com. Enter the promo code MikeG. We’ll get you a free Jump Start trial bag. You just cover the shipping costs, and you’ll see what a huge difference Rough Greens is going to make in your dog’s life. Rough Greens. So great. Your dog will ask for it by name. So I told the team if Jimmy Kimmel actually held up a T-shirt… on his nightly show on ABC that read, Donald J. Trump is going to kill you, you have to prove it to me. Because there’s no way I think that’s real. There’s no way anybody with a sense of any kind of decency, nobody could think that’s okay. Here, in fact, is Mr. Kimmel.
SPEAKER 09 :
You know what? Maybe they’re trying. I know what they’re doing. They’re trying out a new slogan. Donald J. Trump is going to kill you. That’s pretty good, right?
SPEAKER 05 :
And they did laugh and they did clap. I guess they did think it’s funny. I guess he thinks it’s funny. Donald J. Trump is going to kill you. Now, does… I need your answer to the question raised by the guy on X where I first saw this right as I walked into the studio, and it just threw me. Because Kevin Dalton writes, Jimmy Kimmel is trying to make sure that there are more deaths like the death of Renee Nicole Goode. I don’t know how to dispute that. I’m beyond shocked or appalled. I think that these leftists, like Jimmy Kimmel, want more people killed so that they can gin up a narrative that we have a dictator president and he is this monster and he’s, you know, Stalin and Hitler all rolled up into one. I think they want more people killed. Why else would you hold up a T-shirt and on your network TV show saying that the President of the United States wants to kill you. What do you think that does to people who are impressionable and unwell and unstable and unhinged? And I just want to ask you, how does this, how could anybody think This is okay. 800-655-MIKE, 800-655-6453. Let’s start with Ellen in Pennsylvania. Ellen, thank you for joining us. Can you believe that this happened?
SPEAKER 02 :
No, I can’t. I’m appalled and disgusted with this. First of all, they ought to boycott Jimmy Kimmel and ABC and the company that made that shirt.
SPEAKER 05 :
Well, it’s hard to believe. I mean, do you think he has any oversight? There’s executives who would say, hey, Jimmy Kimmel, maybe this isn’t a good idea.
SPEAKER 02 :
Does anybody care? They want to boycott all three. Not only that, what’s up with they have all the proof about the Clintons, Obama and the last president of all the corrupt that they did. Why aren’t they all in jail? All of them. We arrest. I’m sorry for yelling. We arrest and kidnap so-called criminals. a president of another country, but we can’t take care of our own that did bad. They ought to be behind bars, every one of them, and everything they own, take. Put it back.
SPEAKER 05 :
Ellen, Ellen, thank you. You’re fired up today. Ellen’s fired up. 800-655-MIKE. We all ought to be fired up. Donald J. Trump is going to kill you? That’s the punchline of a joke on a late-night talk show called Jimmy Kimmel Live? You know who we can ask? In a couple of minutes, we’re going to be joined by the great Mike Lindell, the CEO of MyPillow, who wants to be Minnesota’s next governor. We’ll talk about his campaign. And remember, Mike was a guest on Jimmy Kimmel’s show a couple of times. They got along. In fact, Mike told me about his experience and said that Jimmy Kimmel was surprisingly gracious to Mike. And Mike was a good sport. Remember they put him in the middle of that big machine? What do you call that with the bouncy balls in it? And they had Mike sit in there for the whole show. And Mike went along with it. Probably sold a lot of pillows as a result. I can’t wait to find out what the great Mike Lindell thinks of Jimmy Kimmel’s joke. Donald J. Trump is going to kill you. Tom’s in Pittsburgh. Tom, welcome to the show. How are you, sir?
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah, good, good, brother. How are you doing?
SPEAKER 05 :
I’m good. I’m good. I appreciate your call.
SPEAKER 06 :
Hey, listen, the thing is, with Jimmy Kimmel putting that out that Donald Trump will kill you, that’s actually helping our side because there’s a difference between killing and murdering. Somebody comes into your house to murder you, you’re justified in killing them. So anybody that’s an enemy of our state, yes, Donald J. Trump will kill you. We are a conservative state. We’re Americans. We’re free. And take away our freedom. You’ll find out the hard way that that FAFO comes back into play there.
SPEAKER 05 :
Well, but I appreciate I mean, I know you’re looking at the glass is half half full. But what I would respond with is to say that somebody is going to try to assassinate Donald Trump again. Somebody is going to say, well, look, if he’s going to kill us, we better kill him first. That’s the first thing that came to my mind. And that’s the horrifying aspect of what Jimmy Kimmel pulled. The disgusting aspect of what he did is that not only does he put more Rene Goods in harm’s way, because there’s going to be more anti-law enforcement violence directed towards the ICE officers, but he puts President Trump in harm’s way. It’s the old adage, if you really think Trump’s Hitler, what wouldn’t you have done to stop Hitler from carrying out his evil deeds? Wow. I know this is kind of heady stuff for a Friday. Let’s take it into maybe the same direction, but in a different path with the one and only Mike Lindell, Republican gubernatorial candidate in Minnesota. He joins us next. Is losing weight getting harder and harder as you get older? It’s not your fault. You’re eating better, you’re moving more, but your body isn’t responding the way it used to. That’s not willpower, that’s metabolism. For many people, years of dieting is quietly slowing down your metabolic system. So the harder you try, the less progress you make. I was dealing with the exact same thing five years ago. I made a call to PhD Weight Loss. It changed my life. At PhD Weight Loss, they help people identify what’s actually blocking fat loss, and they fix the root cause. It isn’t as simple as counting calories. Your body is much more complicated than that. If you want to understand why your body isn’t cooperating, call PHD Weight Loss now. Mention Fix My Weight Loss to unlock their New Year’s special. Book your consultation. It’s free. It’s personalized. And it could explain everything. Call 864-644-1900. That’s 864-644-1900. And say Fix My Weight Loss. 864-644-1900. Or visit MyPhDWeightLoss.com and tell them Mike Gallagher sent you.
SPEAKER 11 :

SPEAKER 05 :
I hate to be cynical during times like these, but you know who the happiest guy in America is right now? Governor Tim Walz. He found the distraction that he desperately needed. There was a distraction away from the welfare fraud that he allegedly presided over, the Somalian welfare scheme. Look, it isn’t going anywhere. If you think the Trump administration is going to let that go because of the shooting death of this anti-ICE activist yesterday, think again. It’s not going to happen. But it is what they wanted. They got what they wanted. They got something to try to take people’s attention away from the apparent massive welfare fraud to the tune of billions of dollars from immigrants ripping Americans off. You know, it’s like a double whammy. Number one, you’ve got people who are in the country, in many cases, who shouldn’t be here anyway. And number two, they have the audacity to steal from the American taxpayer through a welfare fraud scheme that totals billions and billions of dollars. So Tim Walz threw in the towel earlier this week. He gave up. He quit. Put his tail between his legs and said, I’m not going to run again. And then this happened. And now he gets to stand up there and actually threaten to use the National Guard against federal law enforcement officers. Let that sink in. We’ve got a governor who’s so desperate, a governor who’s so unhinged, a governor who was so unserious that he stood at a podium yesterday and threatened to use what he calls our National Guard against ICE officers. You got a mayor standing up there flailing around telling ICE to get the F out of Minnesota and didn’t say the letter F. He said, I saw the video. Any claim of self-defense is bull blank. He doesn’t know any outcome of an investigation because the investigations are just underway. But before the investigation, instead of a mayor saying a responsible thing, instead of a governor acting like a grown-up, you’ve got a couple of clowns, a couple of garbage Democrats who are like toddlers in power. They’re incapable of being grown-ups. I heard a great, great, and I got this thought implanted in my brain from my dear friend Mark Davis this morning. While driving in, I listened to Mark’s monologue, and he said, look, a real leader who’s a Democrat who doesn’t like ICE would say, look, I don’t really agree with ICE being here, but we’ve got to trust the process and the court system and the legal system. We’ve got to make sure that No harm comes to our officers on any level. We need to be calm and we need to be patient. No, no, that’s not what Jacob Fry did. That’s not what Tim Walz did. They threw more fuel on the fire because the fire is what they want. The chaos and the turmoil and the violence is what they crave. They’re happiest when our cities are on fire. And they don’t care about this woman. She’s just a prop to be used in a bigger picture. And that is a resentment of the Trump administration carrying out its promise to the American people. The biggest mass deportation effort in American history. He campaigned on that and he won. And he’s fulfilling his promise to the American people. Now you may not like that. And I respect that. If you don’t think ICE belongs in Minneapolis or Boston or Los Angeles or Chicago, then you go try to change all the elected politicians who favor that. And get a bunch of, you know, Tim Walzes and Fries elected to office. Get a whole bunch of Zoran Mamdani’s. And look, in some cases they are. But we have a responsibility, as somebody put it to me earlier today, to enforce existing immigration laws. It is dutiful and rightful and righteous. But again, the chaos is what they want. Greg Gutfeld addressed this yesterday on Fox News Channel.
SPEAKER 01 :
I’m not interested in the moment that everybody is focusing on. I think that is the mistake that we always make, is that we come upon something and we focus on the moment. But we don’t ask, how did we get George Floyd? How did we get Butler, Pennsylvania? How did we get Charlie Kirk? There’s a whole series of events that get you here. The deliberate mistake the media makes is they ignore what leads to the moment so they can seize the moment to create a narrative. You have a city on edge because that is the desired effect. The key word here, and it always is, is chaos because chaos is what is desired. Okay, you want to see how we got here? Most of us know how we got here. There was a migrant crisis that was deliberately encouraged by our politicians for reasons that were financial and political. Went crazy. Trump wins. We bring in ICE agents to fix this problem. They are villainized because they are fixing the problem. We have politicians and activists demonizing people trying to do their jobs with protesters and rioters around to sow chaos. And they are organized and they are sponsored and paid for. The desired effect is this. They want this. This is a success. Do not be fooled by their emotion. This is how they do it.
SPEAKER 05 :
That’s so good. That guy’s so smart. That’s Greg Gutfeld over on Fox News. It’s what they want. They want all of this chaos. They want all of this heartache. As my buddy Joe Piscopo puts it in New York, They’re just mean. They’re mean and they’re cruel. They portray themselves as some kind of, you know, virtuous victims and that the cops are the bad guys. Everything’s upside down. The good guys are portrayed as bad guys. If you’re law enforcement and you happen to be law enforcement on the issue of immigration enforcement, oh, you’re the Gestapo. And Tim Walz has used that word. Gestapo. Now, look, I want to do something that we always do. Maybe you don’t agree with what happened in this shooting. We’re going to play this shooting for you here in a couple of minutes on air. If you’re watching on Salem News Channel, it’s a good day for you to watch. Pull up a chair and download snc.tv or go to mikeonline.com. We video stream the show every day, and you’ll be able to see this video. And there are different angles. There’s an angle from behind the vehicle where it’s hard to see the officer standing in front of her. There’s another angle that shows him clearly standing in front of her and getting hit. He was hit by the vehicle. Let that sink in. And you think he’s going to stand there? Maybe you think he should stand there. Right now, as we speak, protesters are confronting ICE officers in Minneapolis. There’s a show of force. There’s a lot of armed men and women, and there are a lot of protesters who are in their faces. Tough time. Tomorrow we’re going to get Mike Lindell on the show. And, look, I want to remind you here, as we kick off this hour, and kick off the new year. What a real important part of the Mike Gallagher show MyPillow has been. Welcome to pain-free living. If it doesn’t, you’re out $19.95. Isn’t it worth the try? ReliefFactor.com, ReliefFactor.com, or call 800-4-RELIEF. Mike is on Staten Island. Mike just hung up. I was dying to talk to Mike. It always frustrates me when a caller that I really want to engage with, who makes no sense on the screen, Then hangs up on me. Mike said, I’m conflating ICE officers with Border Patrol. I haven’t mentioned Border Patrol one time. I haven’t talked about Border Patrol at all. I’ve talked about ICE officers. So, Mike, if you want to call back, please do, because I would have really been intrigued by your peculiar point of view. Nobody’s conflating Border Patrol with ICE officers. Let’s take a look at the video. If you’re watching on Salem News Channel, there’s a couple of different angles, and a lot of people are wondering. Look, this first angle that we’re playing right now is the one that got the first bit of attention. It’s hard to see the officer in front. They’re trying to get her out of the car. They’re yelling at her. And I can’t play the audio because there’s a lot of F-words. But then there’s a video angle from across the street. It clearly shows the car striking the ICE officer. He gets hit in the legs. He’s pulling out his sidearm. He’s directly in front of the vehicle. He’s not on the side. She wasn’t trying to flee. She was an anti-ICE activist who, along with her partner… was there to cause trouble and make it difficult for the ICE officers to do their job. And Ultimately, where do you hear the Chris Rock? Monica Crowley, of all people, is the one who posted it, and I love Monica to death, and I reposted it on my X account. If you’re not following us on X, you should be, at Gallagher Show. We stream the show every day on X as well, so please follow us there, at Gallagher Show, on X. It’s my go-to social media platform, and I always try to, that’s where I go. Look, we wouldn’t have seen these video angles. if it wasn’t for X. You know what the mainstream media would have done. They would have taken the one angle that looked the most favorable for their narrative, and that’s the one they would have run with. Period. Mark’s in St. Paul, Minnesota, right by where all this happened yesterday. Hey, Mark, do you have any idea how tired we all are of your state these days?
SPEAKER 03 :
Mark, you there?
SPEAKER 05 :
Yes, good day. I guess Mark’s not there. Hello, Mark. Go ahead. How are you? Thank you. Good day. I started with a little joke saying, do you know how tired we are of your state?
SPEAKER 08 :
No, hopefully you’re not too tired of the state. You would come and visit.
SPEAKER 05 :
We would love your comrades. You got it. Well, I have many times, and I’ve got family there, so don’t worry. I love your state, but, boy, you sure have been in the news a lot lately. Lori?
SPEAKER 08 :
Yes, thank you. What I wanted to say was I’ve been waiting for this video, waiting to see it. I actually did see it earlier in the morning. I had no idea what went on yesterday.
SPEAKER 05 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 08 :
And outside of that, thank you for showing the video. Second, the only thing is regarding the Border Patrol and all that mix up with whoever spoke about it earlier, Mike, is that I’m kind of partial to The Mexicans. I had them as parents, and I love them.
SPEAKER 05 :
All right. Thank you, Mark. Nice to talk to you. Larry’s in Florida. Hey, Larry. Welcome to the show. Hey, Mike. How you doing? I’m okay. Just muddling through.
SPEAKER 07 :
I have to point out, I’ve seen hundreds and hundreds of videos of traffic stops where police will pull over a vehicle, the vehicle pulls over, The cop walks over to the window. He says, roll down your window and turn your engine off. And here’s what happens. They don’t turn the engine off. They gun it. They drive over the cop and down the interstate they go. Well, next thing you know, they’re getting shot at. And if that doesn’t stop them, they end up rolling their car over. And that’s the end of that. I mean, this has happened hundreds of times. We have videos of that.

Look, I have spent, Larry, I’ll say this. I’m not trying to brag. I’ve spent hundreds of hours. doing ride-alongs with police officers to give me a very unique perspective of what does happen out there. And you’re right. It’s split-second life or death decisions that these brave men and women have to make, and that’s what happened yesterday. But to your point, wait till you hear what comedian Chris Rock says are the rules of engagement with the police. You won’t want to miss that. We’ve got it coming up.
