Here’s your survival guide for Ready Radio, John Rush. All right, and we are here. Ready Radio, KLZ 560 on this fine Friday as we head into the beginning of November. It is the 1st of November today. If you’re listening to a replay of today’s program, you know what day it is. Try not to date it too much. There’s a big election coming up, which most of you know about, and I talk about that on the other programs a lot. So I won’t do much of that here today. Other than, the outcome of such events can have a lot to do with what you guys do in the prepping, you know, being prepared end of things. And when I mean prepping, I don’t mean that in… A lot of preppers, quote unquote, get negative connotations. And… I think prepping can have lots of degrees. We talk about that a lot on this program. Am I a prepper? To a certain degree, I guess you could say that. Am I an all-out, quote-unquote, prepper like some would be? Do I have five years with the food stored up and things along those lines? No, I don’t, nor do I intend to. The amount of time and management that it would take even going through keeping inventory of how long you have certain items, the rotation and so on. Literally something along those lines becomes a full time hobby slash job. No, I don’t want that. I have other things to do. If things get that bad, do I have enough to get by for X amount of time and then figure out what to do from there? Absolutely. Absolutely. Now, as I’ve said before on this program, and this is Ready Radio, for those of you maybe just tuning in for the first time, we talk all things preparedness, really to prepare you for the what-ifs of life. Could be anything from civil unrest, an end-of-the-world type scenario, Solar flare slash EMP, all sorts of things along those lines, including large weather events even. Just being prepared for whatever. I’ve even, on this program, talked about what do you do if you have a breakdown in your car? How do you get off onto the side of the road? Things along those lines. So we really cover the gamut here. It’s not just end-of-the-world stuff. And I do believe in being prepared and as prepared as you possibly can for all of these different scenarios that would come along. And once again, you know, I don’t have a crystal ball. I don’t know the future. I do believe in being prepared to the best of your ability. And I think that that varies from person to person and resources to resources. Some people have a lot of resources and the ability to do things. I’m reading a book now or listening to a book on audio, audible I should say, where this particular character in the book, and again, these are all fiction books, and the authors do a really good job of, I think, for the most part, Guessing at how things would be, because they literally are guessing. And it’s fiction. Do they have to be right? No, they’re not predicting the future or doing it. It’s for entertainment purposes only. But every one of these books that I encounter, I do learn some things. And I think every author kind of looks at things differently and you get more well-roundedness even as to things that potentially could happen down the road based upon a lot of different folks’ input. This particular book, the character in is an older lady, one of the main characters, and she was one of the quote-unquote preppers in the family, one of the only, much to the making fun of by the rest of the family members. But this particular lady has stocked enough food up in a hidden basement that that I don’t know how the basement was set up initially, but it’s hidden. No one knows it’s there. And she’s got like five years’ worth of food for a family of five or six to the point where she’s inventoried it out. And like I just said, the rotation of certain things and so on, she literally worked on this thing for a decade or more, getting all of this stuff set up. So do I have that? No. No. Do most of you listening have that? I would guess very few of you do. And if you do, congratulations. You have accomplished things most will never be able to do, and you will be much further ahead than anyone else if something like that were to happen. But on the same token, you know, like what I just said a few minutes ago, it becomes its own job. And I frankly don’t want any more jobs. I have enough already. Doesn’t mean that I’m not prepared and I would not have the ability to survive. You know, in my case, I probably have. And I don’t care if this is public. I think for most people, I mean, I definitely have more than the three to five day supply that most people have. You know, do I have a 50, 60, 90-day supply? I probably over the course of the last four or five years have put away, collected, you know, done enough along those lines to probably have, and keep in mind there’s just the two of us unless some other family members, you know, arrive, that would change things, and that would change things for you as well as something to think through. But I probably have enough for two months, maybe three, probably three actually. And part of that’s because, as I said last week, I have bought, when they’re on sale through some of the websites and so on, some of the freeze-dried buckets that I have enough of those where actually I probably have a 90-day supply just of those, not counting everything else that gets stored in the freezer, the pantry, and so on. So, again, I’m digressing a little bit, but we try to get you guys all prepared as we can for the what-ifs of life. We have great sponsors, by the way. One of them is going to try to join us today. And if you’re listening to this as a replay later on and the election’s already happened, doesn’t matter, still applies. All sorts of events can come up that can cause different things. And ultimately, do you stay where you are in your home or do you bug out, flee, go somewhere else? And those are decisions, frankly, no one can make for you. So if things get that bad that you’re trying to make those decisions… you’ll probably know at that time what’s best, stay or leave. And I’m going to go through some of the different scenarios, things that would maybe help you with those decisions. And as you, if you, let me say it that way, ever get to this point where you’re trying to make these decisions, hopefully some of this list would help you. So first things first, know your surroundings. Where are you? So if things were to go south, where are you at? Where do you currently live? Are you out in the suburbs? Are you out rural, way outside of town? Are you in the city itself or a city? And even in that case, are you in the city or are you on the outskirts of said city? Our front range is very unique. You can look at the city of Denver and start spreading out from there to all of the different suburbs, and in some cases going north, south, east, west. And some folks may live in, for example, the city of Lakewood, but they may live on the far west side of Lakewood, which actually puts them up into the foothills, because yes, Lakewood goes that far. And maybe they would not want to bug out but stay. On the same token, somebody that’s right in the heart of Lakewood, would you want to stay there or leave? And again, these are the decisions that if things get to this point, you have to make those decisions. Are you going to stay, hunker down, hang out, or are you going to go somewhere else, bug out? So these are some of the factors in making some of these decisions. And again, back to the books that I’ve listened to and have been now for several years. I don’t really hardly listen to anything else other than these. When I get in the car, I’ve got another series and I typically listen to it. And I typically do these series where they’ll be five to seven books in a series. It’ll take me several months to finish one of those. In this part of it, I think, again, the majority of these authors get correct. In this city, there are more resources, but much more chaos. So resources as in pharmacies where you can go and, yeah, you’re going to be borrowing or stealing things because when everything goes south, there’s no more order. There’s no more cashiers. Nobody’s standing at the counter waiting on you and helping you with what you need. Very few of the books that I read is there still some order. The book I’m reading now, it’s in a town in Georgia, and there’s still a little bit of law and order left, and there are still some stores that are operating, cash only, bartering, that kind of stuff. So this author is pretty smart. She’s actually gone through and thought through some things, and in this particular case, given where they are from the big city, they still have some things that are operational, although it’s getting very dicey as we get further into the book. Anyways, in the city there’s more resources because of the things I just noted. Everything from supplies, wood, screws and nails, certain tools, car maybe, fuel, all sorts of fuel, by the way. That’s more common in a city than it is in the rural areas. The downside to the city is more chaos and you’re competing with more people. So while there’s more resources, there’s also more people vying for those resources, and it can get very chaotic and very dangerous. In the rural areas, a lot less resources, but a lot less people. Now, again, and I think these books are correct on this, just because less people doesn’t mean any less dangerous. The people that are desperate in either scenario will still take matters into their own hand, and it’s a dog-eat-dog-eat world when this happens. So in the rural areas, less resources, less people, but help and anybody that would be around to try to even help you with things are miles away. So those are things to think about. Are you in the city? Are you in a suburb? Are you rural? And where do you want to stay if something like this were to complete, you know, some sort of, you know, life altering event were to happen? Where do you want to stay? Number two. If you decide you’re going to flee, what are your escape routes? For some of you, that could even be if you’re at work, how do you get home? What is your route for going home? I think of that one a lot because, you know, I’m 30 minutes driving from home, but I’m 25, 30 miles from home walking, or which we’ll talk about transportation, other means of transportation. I’m that far from home. So what’s your escape route or where are you going to meet? And we’ll talk about that in a few minutes as well. But what’s your route based upon where you are if something were to take place? Things to keep in mind, a lot of, especially in an EMP type setting or even a solar flare where there’s a CME event, if cars start shutting down, and it could be some, could be all, But even if half stop running, and frankly, I think as a car person myself, if we have some sort of a large EMP or CME event, it’ll be at least two-thirds. So even if two-thirds of the cars quit operating, every major thoroughfare is now blocked, especially if it happens during a rush hour scenario. But, folks, I’ll tell you, even in this Denver area, I was thinking about this the other day. I was headed up north, oh, I don’t know, a couple of Saturdays ago, early in the morning, and I’m just thinking to myself, especially the time I was coming in, where all these people come from. The amount of traffic at any given time of the day is enormous. So even if an event were to take place in a non-rush hour time frame, you still end up with blocked thoroughfares. It’s pretty hard to avoid that at pretty much any time of the day. But the only way that would get avoided is a big holiday, Christmas, something like that, where there’s just not that many people out and about. That’s about it. Other than that, they’re going to be blocked. So avoid the crowded and blocked routes. As far as your resources go, what are you near? Even while you’re running your escape plan, what are you near? More food? Water? Is there medical services, clinics, hospitals, things like that? All of those things need to come into play. As you’re thinking about, remember, we’re planning this on the front side, not the back side. So what are you near? What would come in handy? And so on. And then lastly, when it comes to the escape end of things, have more than one route, so multiple routes. I’m going to go option A, B, and C maybe. What are my ways to get where I want to go? And for some of you, you might even need more than A, B, or C. You might want one of half a dozen different ways to go. And point being, what’s that route going to look like? And then next, which I’ll come back and talk a little bit more about, what are your means of transportation going to be? I talk about that a lot on this particular program, but what’s your means of transportation going to be? And remember, I’ve done whole programs on what if you’re out of town when this happens, right? What if you’re on vacation when this happens? What if you’re traveling and you’re in the middle of two different destinations when this happens? Have you studied well enough to even know where you’re going and where you may be stopped? And if something were to happen, what’s your next steps? So food for thought. And even then, it’s going to be a struggle. But I know how to do one thing that a lot of city people don’t know how to do. But even if I can’t do that, I got another thing to pull on. So if I got stuck out here in the country somewhere and my truck didn’t even run, okay, I’m going to try to find me a horse with a bridle. And I’m going to use a horse to get back home.

Yeah, you know, Jim, that’s not a half bad idea at all. I mean, I think anything, you know, thanks for helping me with the transportation end of it. Yeah, I would say anything along those lines, a horse, a mule, a bicycle. I mean, anything where you could go from A to B faster would be worth having.

Right, and that’s the other thing I was going to say. Then I’d knock on the door because I don’t want to get shocked. There’s farmers all out here. Yeah, that’s right. Yeah. So I might knock at the door, and I’m quite sure they’re going to be aware, hopefully, of what’s going on in the world. And I’m going to ask for a bicycle to see if I can use a bicycle to get myself home.

Yeah, and I think a lot of these books that I listen to, Jim, one of the things that I think at times the authors will throw that in, and I think they’re pretty appropriate in doing so, but I’ll be honest with you, a lot of these authors really forget about bicycle and or motorcycle modes of transportation. Keep in mind, a lot of older motorcycles that don’t have, You know, solid-state ignition and such on them would also be good to have and use. Granted, you’re limited to how much, you know, fuel you can carry and so on, but, you know, you take a five-gallon can strapped to the back of a motorcycle, you can go a long way.
Caller (Guest) :
Oh, absolutely. Well, I mean, even just a horse or a bicycle, I mean, you know, with a horse I could probably get probably around 25 miles or so a day.
SPEAKER 06 (Advertisement) :
I think so pretty easily, yeah. I think you could, Jim, absolutely. Yeah.
Caller (Guest) :
You know, and a bicycle, you know, if I stick to the roads, I could probably easily do, you know, a good 25 or better a day even on a bicycle. You know, it might take me a good week. My biggest concern is, which is why I make sure I carry the proper clothing with me in the winter, is the wintertime, trying to make your way home if all of a sudden everything can’t just stop, trying to make your way home when it’s flipping January or February.

Yep. No, you are. And that would be, you know, if we were ever attacked, now the solar flare end of it, Jim, none of that can be preplanned, and who knows if that were to happen. I think, by the way, that’s as big of a risk as even the EMP sides of things are concerned. You know, a big solar flare impacting, you know, Earth, I think is very, very probable. We’ve had that happen in the past. It could happen again.
Caller (Guest) :
Right. Now, there’s a… There’s a thing I learned this last week, or this last week or over the weekend, I guess. So have you ever thought of anything else that could possibly go wrong in the world or this country besides an EMP or whatever? And what I’m getting at, so this guy, his name is Martin Armstrong, and he’s a very well-known person amongst your elites and whatnot.
Caller (Guest) :
Mm-hmm.
Caller (Guest) :
He’s a real computer genius. And he built this computer basically because I guess he used to be in the financial markets. And his whole life has been based around money. And with the money, he’s used it as a study to see where our society through time has had its ups and downs and It’s wars and whatnot. And so I listened to this hour-and-a-half interview with this guy. Now, this guy is extremely accurate with this computer that he built. I don’t know if it’s a software program or what. It’s called Socrates.
SPEAKER 06 (Advertisement) :
Socrates, okay.
Caller (Guest) :
Yeah, and anyways, I guess that Socrates is, like, 90%, 95% accurate with its predictions and… with the money markets and whatnot. I mean, so accurate that the DOD and I can’t think of this other. I know the DOD and this other investment place, they were trying to get him to let them have the codes to get into that computer, and he wouldn’t release it. He spent 12 years in prison over this thing. And it wasn’t for a crime. It was because, oh, my brain goes blank, contempt of court. So the court wanted him to release it, and he said, no, he would not release this to DOD or to this investment company. That’s absolutely huge. And so, anyways, he’s talking about by 1932 that all the republics, states, not just the United States. All the nations that are republics are going to come crashing down. And he says, and he’s talking about the United States for sure will be balkanized.

And his basis is just this computer model? Yeah, exactly. And what date again is he saying that by?
Caller (Guest) :
He’s saying by 1932.
SPEAKER 06 (Advertisement) :
Um, so roughly, uh, about eight years from now, roughly.
Caller (Guest) :
Uh, and I, I think, and, and I’ve given it a lot of thought. I mean, I don’t know whether it’s going to happen or not, but from everything I’ve, a lot of people I’ve been listening to this, uh, computer model, I guess, like I said, it’s extremely accurate. And, uh, with this election thing coming up and with what’s going on in the But especially with our elections, I don’t know what’s going to happen. Right now, I’m kind of, because I was listening to you here, I don’t know if it was yesterday or the other day, and you guys were talking like with John up in Wyoming about this thing and what’s going on down there in Arizona and whatnot. But I don’t think the communists are going to step back now.

Well, I do think, John, that a lot of or Jim, John was talking about what was going on in Arizona, other parts of the country. And to your point, Jim, I don’t know. I mean, I think I think what you know, whatever happens in this next election is going to have a lot of bearing upon what you’re saying. No, they’re not going to stop, Jim. I mean, no matter what, whether they win or lose in this upcoming election, they’re not stopping. They’re going to continue to grind away because it’s what they do and they want ultimate global power. when it’s all said and done. I mean, they want everybody in the world to be under Marxist rule, which, by the way, would then be very dystopian, and a lot of what we’re talking about on this program would come true. And that is their ultimate goal. And what’s the timing of that, Jim? Honestly, I have no idea. I do believe, like you, they’re not going to stop.
Caller (Guest) :
No. But I think, well, I guess there’s another thing. I guess… During that COVID build, I guess Congress had built a thing in. I’m not real clear on it. And I was listening to some people talk about it today, where they’ve changed somewhere as far as constitutionally-wise. They didn’t change the Constitution, but they had made some amendments or did something Congress did where they built in where the military… Not the National Guard. The regular military is going to be used in this country.
SPEAKER 06 (Advertisement) :
Could be. They made some language changes in regards to defense and what involvement military could have on civilians. And several people have sent me some of those things, Jim, and I’ve read it. And, yeah, there was a change made, I want to say, early in this year. And, again, these are some of the things that I believe that if you get a different person elected, i.e. a Donald Trump, would some of those things change back? I could see that happening, although I will tell you, Jim – Those things don’t worry me too much because if things get really bad along those lines, it doesn’t matter what the wording says. They’re going to do it anyways.
Caller (Guest) :
Right. Well, this guy was asking today, he was asking, you know, if people in the military would actually turn on American citizens.
SPEAKER 06 (Advertisement) :
Most, and I believe Jim, most wouldn’t.
Caller (Guest) :
Really? Not me. I think a lot would.
SPEAKER 06 (Advertisement) :
No, and by the way, listen, you’ll hear me out. This is where I’ve said for years, this is where the whole, you know, defund the police and change the military around and some of the transgender junk that’s going on, which Trump was talking about even today and yesterday, by the way. Reality is that’s how they would accomplish that. They need an about face with a lot of the individuals that are actually in police and military i don’t think there’s enough there right now to do that over time as they make changes and by the way the defund the police wasn’t a defunding it was a replacement of it wasn’t really defunding it it was just changing those men and women out that of course has slowed down since a lot of the uproar over that has happened and crime went up and so on and so forth so you know do i think at some point they’ll get there yes is that there today no

Yeah. Well, I don’t know. You know, I lived through Kent State. I was old enough to remember Kent State. I mean, really, I was, like, teenager-like. And I remember Kent State. And, you know, after seeing that… Go on and whatnot. I don’t know, John.

Well, and not arguing that, although those are isolated cases. When you talk nationwide, which is what it would take to do the things that we’re talking about in this particular scenario, Jim, no, there’s not enough law enforcement and or military personnel that would buy into something along those lines. That’s the problem that that side has right now. They don’t have enough infiltration yet to make that happen. And I believe that’s part of their problem and part of what bothers them.
Caller (Guest) :
Yeah. Well, I hope you’re right. But, you know, with all that being said, you know, at least as long as there’s no EMP or anything, I can pretty much make my way home.
SPEAKER 06 (Advertisement) :
I think the biggest thing, you know, for Jim, and this is for other people thinking along these same lines, and I think a lot of these books that I read, Jim, are very correct in this. The biggest thing is whatever you end up with and you start making headway, somebody else is going to want it. So you’re going to have to figure out how to make sure you protect yourself.

Right, no, exactly. Well, you know, I’ll tell you what that’s like. Well, I grew up on Lookout Mountain, and I used to think about this stuff when I was a kid even. And anyways, over time, I just worked my way up. You know, me and my wife and I, we worked our way up. Got to be prepared.

And I’m going to tell you something. I’m glad I live out here on the eastern plains and not the mountains because, I used to think that, you know, the safest place in the world is going to be those mountains, and I don’t believe that anymore. These eastern plains is the safe place, because you know what? If all of a sudden people started swarming through the eastern plains, I still got first chance, first choice, whatever. True. Just still get out of the state of Colorado.

True. Good point. No, good point. Jim, good call. I appreciate that. Lots to think about. And for all of you listening, the biggest thing, and as we were talking, means of transportation, what are you going to use to Jim’s point to get around? And we just talked about some of that. And by the way, some of this will also involve where are you at in the country? Don’t forget, you’ve got water transportation depending upon the time of the year as well. So, you know, can you float a river? Can you paddle? Can you do some things along those lines? RVs, those are great for traveling, but they draw a lot more attention and take a lot more fuel. Last but not least, and we’ve talked about this many times, John from Cheyenne’s called in multiple times on this one as well, your feet, your legs, you, in other words. Do you have the right gear, shoes, things that you would have with you to even get back home? In other words, if you’re going to walk to Jim’s point, in his case, a long, long way, do you have the footwear to be able to do that? Even in my case, if I’m going to walk 25, 30 miles, can I do that in the shoes that I’m wearing at all times? Those are things you’ve got to think about because otherwise your feet will be a mess and you won’t be going anywhere. Next one. And this, again, is we’re talking about if something catastrophic happens like we were talking to with Jim a moment ago, does everyone in your family know where to go and where to meet? Do you have that plan? So do you even have the different scenarios of if this happens, we’re going to meet here? Or if that happens, we’re going to meet here? In other words, depending upon the scenario, you may have different meeting places. Are you bugging in? Are you bugging out? And what’s going to be that determining factor? How many resources do you have where you’ll be located? So let’s say you’ve decided to bug out, okay? Where to? One thing to just say we’re bugging out, but where are you bugging out to? And what kind of resources do you have there on the bug out sides of things? And some of that, again, will depend upon what just happened. Back to Gemini’s conversation, what scenario is involved here? Was it something that was a foreign entity striking us? Was it a natural cause, some sort of a solar flare that knocked the power grid out? Was it a cyber attack that knocked out the power grid? I mean, all sorts of things can come into play here, and every one of those will involve different things. If it’s a cyber attack on software, your vehicle probably will still run. But getting other things to operate correctly, power will be out. You’ll not be buying and trading the same way because the whole credit card system will be down. Do you carry cash with you? That’s another one we haven’t talked much about. I did a program on this years ago. When I was first coming on the daily program, I think nine, ten years ago, I threw a question out and said, how much money is in your pocket? Cash at any given time. And I had answers from all over the map. You know, some carry very little. Some carry a lot. Some carry a mild amount, you know, 40, 50 bucks. These are things I think about now in this time that we’re in where some of the scenarios that we’re talking about for the first few days, and some will say, well, it doesn’t matter, cash won’t matter. Well, not eventually, but in the first few days, this is, again, another one of these things that I think the authors of these particular books get correct. Within probably the first week even, maybe two, but within the first week, You’ll still be able to use cash. People are going to think, yep, I’m going to capture as much cash as I can. A merchant selling items, they’re going to still sell things and capture cash because in their mind, a lot of people don’t have the background and thinking that we do on this program. And a lot of you that are listening, some of those folks won’t really think any other than if I’ve got cash here and I can sell it, I will. And that’s what they’ll take. So I think having, you know, right now, carrying a certain amount of cash, whatever you feel you’re comfortable with, but I think having some cash on hand is something that right now everyone should have. How much and what denomination, I think it should vary. I don’t think you just need $100 bills unless you want to just give those out because you won’t make a change in a lot of cases. So should you have some ones and fives and tens and twenties and so on? Yes, I think you should have a mixture of money How much depends on your resources and what you’re able to actually have at any given time. But I think you do need to have some of that as well. How do you communicate to your family? So if we all know where to meet, great. How are we going to communicate? And do you have that ability? I have had some folks reach out to me on the communication aspect. I’ll bring some special guests on here in the not-too-distant future. We’ll talk about some of the communication devices that are out there and some options that you may have to communicate because, again, depending upon the scenario, you may have cell service or you may not. I think you should plan on not. And if you do, great. But keep in mind, even if some cell providers stay up for a time in one of these events, eventually their generators and things that they would have to keep things powered up and running will fail. And even in the interim of those running, the amount of people trying to use them will overload the system. You guys have been at different sporting events and so on where you’re trying to call out and you get the all circuits are busy system. You know, recording. Well, those things could happen even in the scenario that I’m talking about. So, again, how are you going to communicate with your family? who’s in charge of each area of the plan, what family member is in charge of the plan, and who’s going to take a stake in each one of those. Maybe you’re a family of four. Okay, how are you going to divvy up those things? Review these plans as needed on a routine basis, and then I would run through these every few months or as time would allow or circumstances would allow. So these are just our four points. I’ve got about three more we’ll go through as soon as we come back. But bottom line is you’ve got to make some decisions if something like this were to happen. Are you staying in? Are you bugging out? How are you going to get there? How are you going to handle things through each one of these particular scenarios? And if you haven’t had these discussions with… your family you should have so you have the right battle plan in place, knowing what you’re going to do moving forward. So got a few more things left here on what do you do? Stay or leave when some big event comes along. I’ve talked about the supply side of it so much. In fact, we spent… Three, four weeks here recently going through a lot of the different things that you can have and things that you would need to even barter with if something like this were to happen. So I’m not going to go through a ton of that because we’ve got a ton of previous shows where you can do that. But just remember for a lot of you, like Jim and myself even, where we’re traveling about and you may not have every single thing with you you’d like to have, what are those essentials that you need to go from A to B? And even Jim’s point earlier, the time of the year would have a bearing on what some of those needs are. Is it middle of winter and we’re going to get down into the 20s at night? And are you going to be able to find some shelter? Do you have protection? Again, I talked about the shoes a minute ago, clothing, all those different things come into play. And do you have that ability to go from A to B? And think about that whether you’re in a car or if you’re walking or in Jim’s case, horse, bicycle, whatever the case may be. So I’m not going to get into bug out bags and all of that. That was in the particular notes of this particular video we’re talking about. But those are things you guys can figure out on your own. And we’ve done plenty of those in the past. Now, something else to think about when it comes to bugging in, bugging out. Now, in this particular case, I think it’s going to depend upon what the event is. and that is shelters and community centers. So where are some of those located? Are they strategically placed? So if you’re going to bug out, for example, do you have the ability to use one of those for a night or two along your way? Do you know where they’re located, how to find them? Will they be open? On and on we go. That’s something that has not really ever been discussed in any of the books, by the way, that I’ve read or that I’ve listened to, the community shelter, community center thing kind of gets thrown by the wayside. And I think mainly because this is where I kind of differ with this particular video. When everything hits the fan, everybody’s out trying to take care of their own families and very few people are out and about manning these sorts of things. For example, the one I’m listening to right now, after several days of being without power, somebody finally decided to go check on the local high school. And sure enough, there were about 50-plus kids there that parents and other folks were supposed to come and pick up who couldn’t, for whatever reason, get there. So the kids are just sort of trapped in school trying to fend for themselves, raiding the vending machines and so on. And it was getting a little bit desperate towards the end. They finally figured out how to get some of them home and so on. But point being, even things like that, people will go and do their own thing. Police and fire. You might have a few folks that hang around and do some things. If they’re single and don’t have families of their own in that, they may go ahead and be on duty. But most of them, after X amount of time, are going to go take care of their own families. They’re not going to be around. So is the shelter thing something worth looking at? Possibly. There might be some good resources there, whether they’re open or not. Something to think about as far as that goes. Just be wary of anybody else that would be there. Remember, when these things happen, it’s something that the books get right. When these things happen, you can’t trust anyone but your family and your closest friends. You cannot trust anybody, literally. And I think the authors of these books do get that right over and over and over again. What may seem innocent and may seem like somebody’s in need may very well be a trap and at the end of the day is a disaster. So you literally, the one thing I’ve learned from these books, you cannot trust a soul, period, no matter how desperate, no matter how bad things may look for that other individual. And as much as you want to try to help that other individual, you have to be extremely careful because in a lot of cases, it may very well be a trap to end up taking all of what you have. in some cases, even your life. So desperate times will lead to desperate measures from individuals. And in that case, you really can’t trust anyone. So the shelters and community centers, I think I’d be more apt to just build relationships among your own community. And again, using what I just said a moment ago, how’s that all gonna work out? If some things get so bad that we have an end of the world type scenario, can you even trust your neighbors? You have to be the judge of that. And some of this would have to do with some of the meetings you would have beforehand, pooling of resources and so on. And you’ve got to factor all of that in on the front side. Lastly, number seven, consider all other factors. We’ve talked about this one in the past as well. Do you or a family member have any kind of special medical needs, special care needs that may keep you from bugging out and you may have to just stay in if, in fact, some of what I’m talking about is the case? You may not be able to bug out. Medically speaking, you may not have that option. You might have loved ones that need constant 24-7 care. If that’s the case, you’re not going anywhere. You’re going to have to figure out a way to take care of what’s going on in your own place now and protect yourself and so on, and you’re not going to be going anywhere because that mobility factor of what I just said a moment ago is affected. If that person needs 24-7 care, you’re not walking, driving, riding, going too many places at all. And by the way, folks, this includes those of you who have young kids or elderly parents or anything in between. You might have a special needs person in your family. All of these things would have to be taken into consideration as to whether you’re going to stay in or go someplace else. And every one of you has to make these decisions on your own. Don’t rely on what somebody else thinks or says or anything. You know your own unique situation better than anyone else. But if there’s anything I’ve learned from all of these books that I listen to, very, very, very few are prepared like they should be. The majority, and I mean I’m talking 90% or more, of the people that you will end up being around are ill-prepared. and when I say ill-prepared, they’re not prepared. Look around right now at what the grocery stores are even like. We’ve got weather coming in this next week, and look at what the grocery stores will be like this weekend just from the little bit of weather we’re going to have coming in. The majority of people don’t have three to four days’ worth of food supply at home. That’s it. That’s it. Now, inflation has been a big cause of that and has even made that worse, but prior to that even, it wasn’t much different. So remember, the majority of people that you’re going to be around will be ill-prepared, meaning people get desperate. And if you have something they want, you now become a target. So you have to be very careful in how all of this works moving forward, no matter what the scenario is. And bottom line, you have to be extremely careful, have your head on a swivel, and literally watch everything going on around you so you, yourself, and your own family stay safe. All right.
