Tell us why you say that, man. First off, what’s the traditional man to you?
SPEAKER 11 :
I don’t know. I was going to ask you that. What do you consider the traditional man?
SPEAKER 06 :
I think the traditional man, at least for me, is… I would probably say like, actually, I’ve got it right here. I would say the traditional man to me is like his character, like the availability to show up. You know what I’m saying? For example, if you tell your woman you’re going to take her to dinner, you should probably pick up the tab versus her pick up the tab.
SPEAKER 07 :
Or even show up. Some guys might not even show up. And that’s not a man. If a man says, hey, I’m going to do that, and it’s a handshake, he’ll show up.
SPEAKER 06 :
You’re bringing up a good point. Does the handshake even work anymore?
SPEAKER 11 :
With me, I would say yeah, but there’s people who have given their word that haven’t followed through, and I would say that’s not a traditional man. I would think a traditional man would honor his word.
SPEAKER 06 :
Okay, so you think a handshake. What about with business? I mean, honestly, think about it. If that guy shakes your hand but doesn’t sign on the dotted line, are you doing business with him?
SPEAKER 07 :
Yeah. Are you doing business with a man if they if you do handshake or you do sign on the dotted line and and they back out of the deal? Like I do. I think it’s integrity. It’s honesty. It’s loyalty. It’s showing up. That’s that’s what it is to be not only a man, but a good human. Somebody would follow through.
SPEAKER 06 :
Gotcha. What if you’ve got somebody who says they’re going to be there, but they’re always late 24-7? It’s a late man. But you know what I’m saying? If you go back to looking at the traditional man, at least from everything that I’ve looked at, first off, let’s ask this question. Why is the traditional man so complex today? Is it because there are so many divorces that happen? And does a woman even want a traditional guy?
SPEAKER 11 :
I don’t know. Today, I think people might have a different definition of a traditional man or a man period. Some men don’t even want to be men.
SPEAKER 06 :
Oh, my goodness. That is deep. No. It’s true. He’s right. Some men don’t want to be men. Some men don’t want to be men.
SPEAKER 07 :
Well, and not just, you know, like not trying to bash or knock on like anybody trans if they want to be like woman. But there’s kids that don’t want to grow up. There’s 40-year-old. I was going to say 40-year-old virgin, but it’s like 40-year-old man who’s still at his mom’s. Right.
SPEAKER 06 :
Right.
SPEAKER 07 :
You haven’t become a man. You’re still a child.
SPEAKER 06 :
So do you think, okay, so what actually makes a man a man then in society today?
SPEAKER 07 :
Courage.
SPEAKER 06 :
Maybe. Maybe courage. Well, you can’t say courage because it takes courage for a man to transition to a woman. That does take courage. No, it does in today’s society.
SPEAKER 11 :
I would say that takes an extreme amount of courage. Yeah, it does.
SPEAKER 06 :
I mean, because when you think about men playing women’s sports, which we’ve talked about that before here on the show, which I think is absolute crazy.
SPEAKER 07 :
I’m telling you, it doesn’t take courage to be a man and say that you’re a woman and then go beat up on women. That is the opposite of courage. That is sandbagging and planning the attack to win. You know what I’m saying? Yeah, I know exactly what you’re saying. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So that’s the opposite of courage in that. But yeah, that person, I don’t know.
SPEAKER 06 :
So that’s what makes it such a complex question. Like, is the traditional man still around? Because you have transgenderism like that. Because there’s so many men nowadays who they’re not going to keep their word. They’re no longer going to. There’s so many men that don’t even want to be men. They want to be women. And I think that’s absolutely crazy to think about. Like, let me ask you this. Okay, you guys are business owners, right?
SPEAKER 07 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 06 :
If, if a man is transitioned to a woman, are you going to do business with them?
SPEAKER 07 :
Yes.
SPEAKER 11 :
What do you say? Well, it’s individual. It’s not, it’s, it does that. That doesn’t matter in business. It’s, it’s, um, individual. So in most conversations, you can kind of gauge someone’s character. And if someone that’s in transition has more honor, salt, and worth than a so-called man, then I’m going to choose to do business with the one that has the most integrity.
SPEAKER 06 :
Gotcha. Gotcha. So basically at the end of the day, it’s coming down to the person who’s going to do the quality work better. They’re going to show up on time.
SPEAKER 07 :
Or like Reno was saying, as us being business owners, we have the right to choose or deny to conduct business with somebody.
SPEAKER 06 :
Is that true, though? Oh, absolutely.
SPEAKER 07 :
Dude, just yesterday, just yesterday, man, somebody was coming at me with manipulation in their speech of how they wanted to have their windshield repaired. And then at the end, they said… Um, I said, I can’t serve you. Um, so you’re going to have to go elsewhere. And he, he laughed it off. Like he said, Oh, because I asked for a lower price. The guy never once asked for a lower price. The guy was asking me to compromise my integrity by showing up to do half of what my job is. And he wanted half the price for that. You see what I’m getting at? Yeah. Yeah. So, so I denied him. I said, I refuse to give you service, sir. If he was a sir, but he was not a man.
SPEAKER 11 :
And I’ve done the same thing. Someone asked me to hook up a hot tub that was too old to be protected. And I said, do you realize you’re putting your family in danger? He wanted me to hook it up anyway. And he needed a bunch of other work done on top of that. But if I hook that up, I walk away, and his family gets electrocuted inside of a hot tub, then I’m charged with the multiple murder. But not only that. I have to live with that.
SPEAKER 06 :
And people call us at 303-477-5600. This is getting good.
SPEAKER 07 :
The traditional man. I’d say, Reno, in that scenario, out of the two, there was only one that worked with honor. Because you could have taken the out and take less money and do the bad job. But at what cost? Like, major cost.
SPEAKER 06 :
So it’s funny we’re talking about this because I was reading the other day about – and this was years ago, but it happened here in Colorado. In school, they had this – they were talking about this company that denied business to a certain – ethnic group or particular people who were transgenders like they wanted a certain kind of cake made but they decided they’re not going to make it so they took them all the way to court for that so there are people out there that even though you turn them down because we may not feel like they’re the traditional man People take people to court over that stuff all the time now. It’s super crazy.
SPEAKER 07 :
To me, it blows me away. I think it’s what Reno was saying and what we’ve been saying, which is it’s honor. That makes a man and or a woman one that has integrity. I think women probably deal with the same kind of thing.
SPEAKER 06 :
Okay, so let me read this to you. Approximately 21% of men have been divorced once or more in their lives. By 55, about 37% of men who have married have been divorced at least once. Divorce rate is around 2.4 to 2.5 per 1,000 people. First marriages end in a divorce about 40 to 50%. Second merit, 60 to 67%. Third merit, 70% plus. And 69% of marriages are presented to their significant other by a woman. So this is the question I want to ask you as a traditional man. Knowing these stats, if a man turns around and says he wants a divorce, does that make him less of a traditional man or does that make him more of a wimpy man?
SPEAKER 07 :
Circumstantial, I’d say.
SPEAKER 11 :
Why is he asking for a divorce?
SPEAKER 06 :
Good, good question, right? That’s a deep question. Okay, let’s go down that path. What if the significant other he’s with is just strung out on drugs and there’s no stability in their home and he wants to move forward?
SPEAKER 07 :
Right. Does that make him less of a man if he chooses divorce because he’s tried every other angle to provide help to somebody who it’s only enabling? God, this is a good subject.
SPEAKER 11 :
Well, you flipped the script. What do you mean you flipped the script? No, what I’m saying is if you flip the script and there’s a woman who stands by her husband who is on drugs, Which the only reason I’m saying that is because I know someone personally who stood by her husband until he passed away.
SPEAKER 07 :
The whole time. Really? She totally honors the marriage. She’s a man.
SPEAKER 11 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 06 :
Hold on, hold on.
SPEAKER 11 :
Don’t go down that road because we’re going to talk about that. No, she stood by him when I thought, wow, I don’t know if I could do that. So there’s some women who are stronger in that aspect than men. But if I’m looking at… drug addict and all the stuff that comes along with it and I want to stay in that marriage it’s individual how bad do you want it or when is it time to just say enough so I don’t know if that’s saying you’re less of a man if you choose to walk away because different people go through different things throughout their life that will cause them to stay or cause them to leave. And you can’t say one is worse than the other because you don’t know the path that they took to get to where they’re at. why they’re choosing to leave or stay.
SPEAKER 06 :
Because, guys, I’ll be absolutely real with you guys. I took a chance on a different career to make a lot of money. Those dudes fired my butt, and I feel like less of a man. So when does it become…
SPEAKER 07 :
Oh, about provision?
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah, exactly. Because if you’re a man, traditionally, like you’re saying, like eventually there’s a time where a man just gives up. But when is it that where a man feels so isolated to where he just throws up his hands and he just says, forget everything.
SPEAKER 11 :
Well, it’s going to be different for everyone. Yeah. Every person’s going to be different.
SPEAKER 07 :
Hey, which we should congratulate everybody who here is listening and everybody who’s here for having made it as far as you have. I mean, I’m at 48 years. You know, you guys are 40s as well. And we’ve obviously had to go through a lot of struggles to get here and all the listeners that are here, too.
SPEAKER 11 :
I’m actually 52.

How long do you… Well, okay, so now let me ask you this. If a guy’s not being a traditional man, if the woman even wants a traditional man, like when does she step up and she becomes the leader? And is it as a guy, would you follow your woman if she is the leader of everything? Hmm. That’s a deep question.
SPEAKER 11 :
If I’m following my woman and she’s the leader, I’m not a man. I was waiting for what you guys were saying.
SPEAKER 06 :
No, because, I mean, if you think about it. No, I mean. Okay, let’s hear it.
SPEAKER 11 :
So there’s a question. A model. Okay. There’s a model of the way things are supposed to be. Let me hear. It comes from the Bible.
SPEAKER 07 :
God’s model.
SPEAKER 11 :
God is the head of the man. The man is the head of the house. And the woman is the neck that turns the head.
SPEAKER 07 :
Right. Whichever direction it needs to go. That’s good. That is really good. I mean, back to Brock’s stats about divorce and stuff like that. I’ve been divorced. I think maybe all of us have at this table. But I called it my practice marriage because it prepared me to be better in my marriage now. But it couldn’t have prepared me to be better in my marriage now if I was unwilling to and if I was too prideful to look within because I can’t change another. I can change myself. And in what I’d like to say about like the Bible and how it pertains to the relationship of a man and a woman. is that she’s a help meet, not a help mate. And I think a lot of guys get it twisted. They think, oh, this woman’s supposed to help me do everything I have and not align in your vision for your benefit. A help meet actually gives you a different perspective of the same goal.
SPEAKER 06 :
Well, OK, so so then let me ask you this. OK, since we’re talking about that, like like a guy and what and his long established DNA, because as a man, it really is embedded in you to be a provider. It really is something inside of you that says, hey, I’m going to be the leader. Let’s talk about this. If that situation, like you said, was your trial run for a practice marriage, how would America have done if Kamala would have been our president?
SPEAKER 07 :
Well, that’d be a practice run.
SPEAKER 06 :
I mean, honestly, though, do you think it would have messed up the dynamics of men? Do you think it would have messed up the dynamics of home?
SPEAKER 07 :
Wait a second. How bad off is Europe?
SPEAKER 06 :
Well, I don’t know. I don’t live in Europe.
SPEAKER 07 :
Europe’s probably doing pretty well. They’ve been around longer than the U.S. It’s run by a queen.
SPEAKER 06 :
Well… You can’t well your way out of that, queen.
SPEAKER 07 :
It’s run by a queen.
SPEAKER 06 :
Hold on. Elaborate on that.
SPEAKER 07 :
A woman is a queen. A woman is running a country.
SPEAKER 06 :
Oh, I get what you’re saying. Okay, okay, okay, all right. That makes a lot of sense what you’re saying right there.
SPEAKER 11 :
That’s a good point.
SPEAKER 06 :
That is a very good point.
SPEAKER 07 :
It’s the only point I could use, though.
SPEAKER 06 :
Okay, so what you’re saying right there is if we had a woman president, you don’t think it would mess up the dynamic of the man’s DNA and who he is, right? So did your divorce feel like it affected you in any way?
SPEAKER 07 :
Oh, yeah. It affected me negatively as a man.
SPEAKER 06 :
You’re right. Did you feel like it took away from your manhood?
SPEAKER 07 :
Well, ego is the first thing that one has to check. And when I was unwilling to check my ego, it ended in divorce. Then I was forced to check my ego if I wanted to be in another marriage.
SPEAKER 06 :
Arena, what about you? Because all three of us have been in a divorce.
SPEAKER 11 :
Yeah, it was definitely a devastating.
SPEAKER 06 :
For sure, life-changing. Life-changing, yeah. So then that’s what I’m saying. I think America, if Kamala would have became president, I think it would have went against the male ego. I don’t know. Try to disagree. You guys can’t disagree with that.
SPEAKER 07 :
That if our country was run by a woman?
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah. Why? Why do you say that? The reason why I say it would have affected men in their household as leaders, because at the highest position… On the planet, if you have a woman making the decisions as the leader, hold on. I got you. I got you. No, no, no, no. Give me a minute after you’re done. When you’re done, let me tell you. All right. I’m not bashing women by any means. We’re talking on a national level because guys are built to be leaders. I personally think it would affect and take away the leadership role of men.
SPEAKER 07 :
Well, I just want to say I’ve been to the Bilbrey household when they were kids. And I know who ran the house. And it wasn’t Mr. Bilbrey.
SPEAKER 06 :
My mom definitely ran the house.
SPEAKER 07 :
She ran the house, but dad was a provider. Dad was a provider. So that’s why I think just like Christ loved the church is how we’re supposed to love the woman. I think that that does put us in a position of we don’t need to rule with a heavy hand or a rod of steel. we can work together with a woman, put her in position to kind of run household. Does that make sense? Right, no, it makes perfect sense. Like we go out and we earn, we generate. Right. But then that’s the very plight that we keep arguing about. It’s like, oh, is that all the worth of a man is that he’s just making money and bringing money home?
SPEAKER 06 :
Wow. Yeah, because it makes you wonder, because there’s a whole lot more when it comes down to being a man, right? There is. What about the protector part?
SPEAKER 07 :
Yeah. Right, right. Somebody breaks into the house, who’s up to handle that?
SPEAKER 11 :
Are you going to tell your wife, can you go see who that is? I did, actually.
SPEAKER 07 :
Let me tell you. So we got the new house, right? We got the house we’re living in. And it was all being under construction and remodeling and stuff like that. And I went over there, and it was dark, and I was closing up, and I heard like a creak or a thud upstairs, and I just shut and locked the door. And I went home, and my wife’s like, how’s it going? And I was like, oh, pretty good. And she said, is the house locked? I said, yeah. I heard some thud or creak, and she was like, did you go to check? And I was like, uh-uh. I didn’t go to check. I ain’t going to lose my life for this place. And so she put on her boots and grabbed her box cutter, and we went over there.

And she went and she turned on every light, looked in every nook and cranny.

Your woman did this when you walked in? This is the best story ever. Yeah. Let me hear this real. That’s funny, bro.

So, Heath, you’re the man of the house, huh? I am the man. I think I am.

I completely take back what I said about a woman governor of America. Hey, man, that’s a legit story. I love it, man. So is this in your new house, though?

In the new house when we didn’t have, like, it was being remodeled, but nobody was living there.

There was a creak and a thud, and that was enough for me. Yeah, dude, and I’m a black belt. But one of the first things about being in any martial art is knowing how to avoid the fight. I have insurance on the place.

That’s some funny stuff, man. That is so funny. But you know what I’m saying? Because being a protector is one of the attributes of a guy. Like making your family feel safe, making your home feel safe, making your business a safe place. I think it’s like something that’s installed inside of us. Your woman’s going to protect the home regardless.

Um, someone that protects. I mean, you know, so I don’t think anyone should be speaking against my wife or putting their hands on my wife coming into the house. Um,
SPEAKER 06 :
I mean, as a Christian, let’s say you’re at the grocery store and somebody walks up to your woman. You’re probably going to defend her right then, right?
SPEAKER 07 :
He knows Jesus, but he knows how to throw hands, too. I know.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah, I mean. is there ever a scenario seriously is there ever a scenario where you should not be protecting your your your children or your wife like let’s say somebody walks up to you exactly you should right what scenario would create a something that you wouldn’t want to protect your your own Let’s say you’re at the grocery store, you come walking out, somebody is just being irate, flipping you off, road rage, hopping in your car, still in your spot. At that point, do you just walk away and say, hey, leave it alone, turn the cheek, or if they make a comment to your wife… Because when you’re by yourself, you can take a lot more than you can if you’re with your girlfriend. You know what I’m saying? Like, you’re going to turn around, and at that point, it’s a fight.
SPEAKER 11 :
Yeah, I mean, I’ve walked away from quite a bit.
SPEAKER 06 :
But that’s by yourself, though.
SPEAKER 11 :
Yeah, but when it’s my wife, as long as you don’t violate my space or act like you’re going to touch my wife, I don’t know. I mean… Because you know how the Bible says turn… If someone says something to my wife out of pocket and I haul off and hit them, then I’m the aggressor. Then I’m the one going to jail for assault. So you have to think about it. If I go to jail, who’s providing for my house? So I want to protect my wife from what someone said. And words really don’t hurt you, but It could be extremely disrespectful, and you’d have to hold a lot in to walk away from it. But what’s worse, you walking away or you spending time in jail and you can’t provide for your family?
SPEAKER 06 :
Oh, my God, man. This is good. Smart. That is. That’s logical thinking. But in the moment, are you honest?
SPEAKER 07 :
Those are chess moves, not checkers, man. Wow. Wow. Because he’s thinking of, like, the outcome, the fallout. Think of how deep that was, what he just said. I got a Panera story with me and my wife.

But there are places in which it’s important to do so. Because I do think that a man needs to understand his emotions and how to verbalize them. So there does have to be maybe a new stoic.
